I recently purchased the Tapo WiFi Indoor Camera for monitoring my home and pets, and overall, I’m impressed! The 1080p video quality provides clear images, and the 360° rotation allows me to cover every corner of the room. The setup was straightforward, and I love that I can access the live feed directly from my smartphone. However, I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the lack of advanced features found in other higher-end cameras. While the performance is solid, some competitors offer additional functionalities, such as enhanced AI detection and cloud storage options, which are available only with paid subscriptions. For a basic indoor security camera, the Tapo is excellent, but it would be nice to have more premium features without extra costs. February 2025 Style Name: Tapo Camera This is a fabulous camera. Bought to watch over my foster cat and her kittens. It stood up to the kittens knocking it about was able to provide a wide view and moved smoothly around about 180 degrees. Was easy to set up and install. I couldn’t be happier.

The day it came I was really excited because the screen and the camera on the outside looked really good, I would say even excellent condition. When taking pictures on the same day I didn’t notice anything suspicious about the camera itself. Then a day later, while looking at the pictures more closely (admiring how good the quality was) I noticed little purple dots on the pictures and video, it appeared only when that spot was bright enough to show those dots. I was stressed out for awhile reading all over internet, then decided to go to the store where they sell apple products, they ran some light tests (not software) and found nothing, I suggested them that maybe it could be something to do with laser/UV damage, they said it is possible but considering they only could do light and software tests they can’t fully say what is wrong with the lenses, but if it’s true, it can get even worse over time. I really didn’t want to send the phone back, because I already bought expensive protection for it and taking it off would mean I couldn’t use it again. But knowing that replacing a camera without apple care would cost me £500, I was very disappointed. This caused me so much unnecessary stress and tears (sensitive human as I am) that my husband said to refund it and buy it somewhere else. I was getting used to the thought that I will have those purple dots on my back camera, but when I found out it was on the front as well, I fully decided to refund it, because I mainly decided to buy the phone because of the camera quality, comparing with my Iphone 7 Plus. Long story short, I bought another phone from BackMarket and it came with barely noticeable few scratches, that I can’t even see now with the protective screen and even without, you have to look pointing it directly to the sun to actually see it. It came with 100% battery health and finally a good camera. Considering I got this phone from Gadget Tree with 88% battery health and messed up camera, I say paying an extra £200 is worth it buying from BackMarket. (Or like I like to say BlackMarket). Overall the customer service was really good, replied fast and got my full refund without having to pay for delivery fees. So Karma point for that! I can’t say to fully avoid this seller, as buying refurbished phones are a gamble in itself, You pay less to get a used phone, and you can’t really know what you gonna get. But if you bought it from here and your situation with this phone is similar to mine, don’t overthink it, just refund it and buy it somewhere else. Best of luck <3 3 people found this helpful

Bought this camera to keep an eye on my indoor kitten. We only got him a few days and want to keep an eye while we are at work. This camera works very well for this purpose. Easily setup and app functionality is great Can tilt and rotate the camera for viewing more areas. Can talk through the camera and hear audio Has security settings and can set off alarms when motion detected You get notification alerts when movement detected Easy to save picture and videos to gallery Can be connected to anywhere by multiple phones Overall great camera and keeps an eye on my little kitten

I had done extensive research on a little home CCTV systems, that are wifi enabled that would just allow for some peace of mind when we’re away. I’ve looked into every feasible system out there from those like Tapo right up to the very expensive products on the market- some costing tens of thousands with complex home installation packages. It’s incredible that this small CCTV at a cost of just £20 surpassed so many of the features, and picture quality, provided in the more expensive CCTV products and installation packages. A real win here is that there are no monthly fees, with the only additional requirements needed being wifi and SD card- recommended 128gb upwards (approx£12). The picture quality is exceptional, so too is the app which is laid out simply. I was worried about how difficult it would be to get this set up, but it was a case of firstly downloading the Tapo app then being led by on screen instructions. You couldn’t go a step wrong with any of it! The app itself allows you to manoeuvre the camera, speak through it, playback and record. It’s small enough to be quite discrete too. So far, I’ve bought 5 of these which are now all linked to the app. It gives much needed peace of mind, and provided as very comprehensive system that cost no more than £100. I can’t recommend this product enough, especially if like me you get all a bit blinded by the tech talk and worry over how to get a camera installed in the first place. 5 stars all the way with this! 2 people found this helpful
