Pros Its just so quick and easy to install. I have small boot M2 ssd and it seems very similar performance wise. I installed fs2020 to the boot drive but was getting pretty full. Moved to HDD awful. Moved to new SSD amazing.Cons I think for the money it should come with an adapter only cheap plastic to put the drive into 3.5 socket as the ssd is 2.5

They stuff a lumpy bag of styrofoam inside the case to keep the graphics card from bouncing around. It was way too much and the graphics card was actually bent upwards by the styrofoam and I would have had to bend it more to get it out. I carefully took it out in pieces. After getting everything installed and I started using the graphics card it got a little louder which is to be expected however the graphics card itself started to rattle under load and even with all the utilities and stuff I couldnt get it to run under 80C and it mostly stayed at 88C89C.It puts out an amazing amount of heat and the caseglass get extremely hot. Keep out of reach of pets and children. While trying to change some of the graphics card settings with the installed software the machine would mysteriously reboot or shut down The red light by the power button came on and stayed on. The green one never lit up. There was no documentation with the system so what does that meanIt came with drivers and software on a CDDVD but there is no CDDVD drive Seriously, a small USB drive would be very inexpensive especially at qty prices they would get.I should have taken note of all the bad reviews and what they said but there was nothing else available at the time. And whoever replies to these dont even bother. This box has already been returned.PS. I think the black and white case is ugly

Ill admit that this was an impulse buy on Black Friday 2018 when the price dropped so precipitously, but Ive never regretted it. Even though this is an internal drive I bought it for use as an external, specifically as a cache drive for all my Adobe products especially Premiere and AfterEffects, on the grounds that its both faster and larger than my boot SSD. That was in 2018, and today Ive actually repurposed it for its intended usean internal laptop SSD.In both usage scenarios this has wound up being a phenomenal SSD drive. Its lightningfast, even over a USB SATA adapter, and its held up just fine over three years of use. I was so impressed with it I actually bought a second one a 4TB one this time for use as an actual data drive, and its worked just as well.Yes, the prices do sting a little, but with an SSD you want a goodquality product from a reputable manufacturer. From having owned two of these bought at different times I feel comfortable recommending SanDisk whose small SD cards Ive used for years as a company and these drives in particular.

PRO super light, slight decrease overall weight of laptopPRO super fastPRO noiseless just fan noise nowPRO easy installationPRO curbside pickup at BestBuy was very easy, they have it down to a science at the local store I go toCON None to speak of.The price was right for me 139 for a respected brand name. Prepping a laptop for a new disk can be a little time consuming, but that is not the fault of the drive itself. Placed into a 2016 Dell Inspiron 15 with an i5 chipset that was frustratingly slow even after wiping everything and starting over. On the other hand, cracking open a Dell laptop is very easy, just a screwdriver and maybe a stiff guitar pick to gently pry the keyboard off.Now the Dell simply blows away my main i7 Samsung laptop for speed and responsivelness, and the Samsung isnt slow. The Samsung has a spinning drive, but its screen is far superior to the Dell Inspirons, which could best be termed functional..So, you can guess the next upgrade to the Samsung…

While I have not noticed any significant difference in performance from one brand of SATA SSD to another, this particular model and brand seems to be the most buggy. IT has the most compatibility issues. It does not seem to be backwards compatible with SATA 2.0, and I am having issues using it with Mac OS X and Linux. I understand that there is no official support for anything other than windows, but Mac and Linux do not require drivers for things like this. On older model Computers, with older versions of OS X 10.4 10.9.5, T.R.I.M. support is something that you have to get from a thirdparty software company, but it is very expensive. From OSX 10.10 and above, it should be plugandplay 100.I have one of these in my windows laptop with no problem, and then one computer using OS X 10.15 without any issues. But if you were using anything older than Windows 10 or Mac OS X Mojave or Catalina, I would say go with a different brand.Crucial, Samsung, HP, and western digital have all works for me without any compatibility issues aside from having to install thirdparty trim support in OS X versions below 10.10.

It took a week to complete the step of cleaning my computers hard drive The second step was to download the programs from the original computer settings onto the cleaned hard drive I was told it would take a week to complete the process Oh ya the only Geek Squad open wasis over an hour away When I dropped off my computer I didnt bring my power cord with me my bad BUT I was told by the Geek Squad member I didnt have to sorry about it because the had plenty of power cords Nope no cord, I had to drive back to the Frederick store over an hour away to drop off the power cord. When I dropped off my computer I was told I would need an external drive to download my information from the original data. When I picked up my computer I went home confident my computer was ready to go Oops Nothing on my computer Contacted the Geek Squad for 2 reasons Computer was bare and there was no external drive. I was informed the external drive which turned out to be a thumb drive was not given to me when I picked up my computer. I was told the external drive was still at the store. I told the Geek Squad member to mail the thumb drive to me and he agreed after receiving approval from a manger to mail it. After a week of waiting I called to find out the status of the external drive for my computer Lo and behold it was MAILED I then had to drive out again to bring my computer back in to get the information downloaded to my computer. I spent 8 hours driving back and forth to the store. 8 hours I will never get back. I understand stuff happens it was just very aggravating to have to wait 2 weeks for my computer when it was basically an easy fix. I wont go any further with my Geek Squad adventure Thank you for your time

Purchased as a replacement for a MacBook Pro 2013. Previously purchased a Samsung 1TB drive but it was not compatible with the older Mac. Older MacBook creates a partition conflict with 1TB internal hard drives, this 512 GB was a perfect fit Installation was easy and Apple Mac OSX upgrades were easy. I chose to initially install the suggested OS for my laptop from the Apple website Mavericks and then directly upgraded to Catalina OSX very easily.I thought this SATA III drive would not be compatible with my older MacBook Pro, so far there are no performance issues.I HIGHLY recommend this hard drive for older MacBooksI returned my first Samsung purchase with no problems, Best Buy customer service was great

In the last 3545 days I have bought almost 50 ssds. Ranging from 512 gig to 1 TB.With the nand chips being used bycrucial, WD, seagate, Samsung etc will have almost the same read n write speeds. The warranty for almost all range from 35 years. These drives in any size do not have and cloning software that some customers will want that is in the box. That doesnt matter to me because I have 4 different software cloning software as well as a disc cloning station. Some of the above manufacturers when you purchase the drive allow you to download the software but you may also need a usb adapter to clone a laptop hard drive but if you have a desktop you may have a available sata port for data and one for the power. These crucial ultra ssd 512 gig to 1 TB I have not had 1 fail yet.You will be, if you have a laptop increasing your battery life but as most folks may or not be aware you will definitely increase the average speed of everything that is done on the pc.But if you are installing these or any ssd in a tower pc you will most likely need a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter plate. Some tower pcs may have a ssd mount already.Well worth the money.

1T SSD Sandisk. Geek Squad did the install and reload into a Lenovo ideapad P400 laptop 1T HHD. 510 times faster now. Gained an extra number of years from a good computer that was working good, but slowing down. Does not help the 2.0 USBs, but great on startup, app load execution, shutdown. Takes less battery than HDD, and saves battery due to faster work times. Thumbs up

Kids needed laptop for school work. I updated an old ACER laptop with a 500GB Scandisk drive an it went really well and gave new life to that laptop. Decided to upgrade another laptop, but it needed 1TB since the old laptop was a 750 GB drive. I couldnt find a 750 GB SSD drive so went bigger. Used same cable and 3rd party software from previous reviewer. Again no problems, and got this old Toshiba laptop working good. For this laptop, I also added more RAM memory, which made laptop really like new. Now need to go back to ACER laptop to upgrade RAM.

Everything was great until one day, about 6 months after install, it just stopped working. I was only using it as the boot drive, so one day I started up the computer and got the Windows Recovery screen. The SSD was not recognized in diskpart or chkdsk. I tried attaching it to a SDI port that I know works and still nothing. I took it to Geek Squad and they verified it is not working. I might have just won the bad drive lottery, but I bought a Samsung as a replacement and submitted a request with SanDisk to send me a replacement. Definitely not comfortable relying on the replacement as my primary boot drive. Or to store anything important on.

These are the same as WD Blue and either is a great choice for upgrading any mechanical, spinning platter HD. PCIE stick drives are somewhat faster, but many computers only have an eSATA bus and this is about as good as it gets in those applications. 1 2 TB drives are getting pretty affordable at about 100TB. Big enough capacity and fast enough performance to justify the expense and hassle of upgrading.

If you have an older laptop that has gotten too slow to use or the hard drive is shot. Get one of these. I have a 11 yr old asus laptop that the drive crashed. Kept it around in hopes of someday recovering data on it. I needed a laptop for a christmas display I did so I threw this drive in it and WOW. It was faster than my newer computer. Turns on and is ready to use in about 10 seconds. Great purchase

My 4yrold desktop computer had slowed to a crawl, and sounded like a coffee pot that was never done percolating. 10 minutes to start up.Geek Squad analyzed it, determined that the hard drive was not failing. They didnt think solid state hard drive would speed it up too much, but we did it anyway. Now, startup time is within seconds. Totally silent operation. Significant improvement in speed overall. And if I upgrade the desktop any time soon, Ill just pop my SS hard drive into the new computer.I am getting my moneys worth with extended warranty that covers all devices.

When it comes to portable storage solutions Sandisk has been a reliable name but the previous Sandisk SSD died for some reason. Hence 4 star rating. Bought same brand again to see if there is an improvement on the Ultra series. Been an year or so and have been performing well. I use this for a secondary laptop which I dont use much. But performance wise, this is really fast and responsive. when you see its on sale you can definitely buy it.

Please note that no cloning software is included.there are many guides on how to install and properly configure your computer for an SSD, as well as free software to handle the cloning if you choose that route.3 year warranty…great performance gain, plus the larger capacity at an affordable price is great

I originally bought this for my pc to replace an old 250gb ssd as I was getting more into gaming I need the space and loading games off my bigger HDD was slowwwwwwwwwwwww. When I went to install it I found out I only have one bay in my laptop and its taken by my 1tb hdd. My SSD that I have was a different kind. It was an M2. I originally was going to return this but ended up keeping it from my xbox. It really helps with load times. Games that would take up to a minute were cut in half or more. Only down side is next gen consoles wont support this kind of SSD for newer games. but Ill just use it for older game pass games when the time comes.

Love Sandisk, but lately Ive been having problems with some of their products. That said, I recently had a USB Extreme drive replaced and now I am having trouble with my newly installed Ultra SSD drive just within six months of use. My laptop was exhibiting screen flashes what appears to be video related but I later found out that it was the SSD thats causing the problem. It worked normally again until I finally got a Windows popup warning stating I should backup all data at once and replace the hard drive as soon as possible due to it failing any time. I submitted a warranty work order and been corresponding with Sandisk. Everything seemed fine during the process and they said it appears that the drive needed to be replaced and to submit pictures and receiptinvoice. Its been almost three weeks now and Ive yet to hear of any further updates from them.

Had a hard drive failure on a nearly 10 year old computer.Decided on this SanDisk SSD and have not been disappointed.Once I realized that I could reinstall Windows 10 due to it being a HDD failure at no charge I went right out and purchased this SSD.Ive installed the Windows OS many times over the last 20 years and this was by far the fastest install ever. Literally up and running in less than 45 minutes. I made a bootable USB and my broadband speed averages about 350 megs. This SSD is fast Love it

If not a speed demon on the level of the newest high end NVMe drives, this offers broad compatibility with somewhat older devices with performance that will be an obvious step up from standard mechanical HDD. Differences among models in the extreme high end are increasingly apparent mostly just to specialized use cases that put a high demand on storage performance as opposed to being apparent in ordinary use. This drive is a dropin replacement with a standard SATA interface. The SanDisk brand offers a certain level of trust and this is a step above the budget class of SSD lacking onboard RAM.Though this particular unit didnt get along with one specific older laptop hanging on startup it otherwise works as expected in another machine,

I wish BB Antioch stocked a lager variety of SSDs. Half the time I find it in another store like Tracy or SunValley wherever that is. I live 3 miles from the AntiochBrentwood store. Please bolster your inventory of these drives for 2 hr pickup. Ordering it for delivery is 3 or more days away. Try SPP Silicon Power Drives also. I find them faster and more of a value even though SANDISK is more well known.

I added this SSD as a second drive to replace a standard disk drive in my desktop. The results are amazing. My full backups of a 1TB drive was reduced from around 16 minutes to around 7 minutes on average. The delay in my computer waking from sleep mode has been eliminated. My computer is ready immediately. Reboot is very fast as well. I am well pleased with the improvement.

I replaced the 3.5 HDD with this 2.5 SSD in my 2013 Dell XPS 8700. My pc was bogged down and started showing signs of age slowing down after decluttering the PC it still showed signs of slowing. I replaced the HDD with an SSD and it is now working 40 faster than before and feels faster than my new PC. Since then i have upgraded all of my office PCs with this SSD and couldnt be happier. It also comes with a drive health program to help identify hard drive issues before they occur going forward. I look forward to getting more years of life out of an already impressive machine thanks to this SSD. I am thoroughly impressed

I dropped this SSD into an older 2014 Asus gaming laptop late last year to increase the longevity of that computer. For the price you cannot beat the performance. The load times are excellent and I feel like I can get another 34 years out of that backup laptop. SanDisk made a nice product here at a reasonable price point. I definitely recommend it.

Second best only to Samsung, if Sandisk is 10 or more cheaper, I happily choose the Sandisk. Both brands are quite reliable but Sandisk routinely offers 3 speed level models, i.e Fast, Medium Fast and Decently Fast whereas Samsung seems to offer Fast EVO and Faster Pro. Even the slowest Sandisk is 3 or 4 times faster than a 7200rpm hard drive and a good 5 times faster than a typical 5400rpm laptop drive. I buy external hard drive cases and stick a Sandisk SSD in them for ultra fast backups and data transfers.

Replaced the old hard drive in my wifes laptop to speed up the boot time and overall performance. Had to google a few things because it had been years since I replaced a laptop in a computer but everything I needed to know was a quick internet search away. This one came with card with a site to download free cloning software that is only good if you bought a SANDISK or a WD drive. Thankfully I did this one first because the WD drive I bought didnt have the site in the materials it came with. You will need an external SATA drive reader but if you plan to upgrade multiple computers it is a great investment. Cloning was fairly simple and after it was complete I dropped the new drive in and it booted up just like the old drive only a whole lot faster. Didnt have to reinstall anything.

I had to replace the hard drive on a rather expensive HP All in one that had very gentle home use. It was barely 3 years old and completely failed on me unexpectedly. I was very disappointed that I even had to buy a new hard drive to begin with.Ive owned this new drive for only about a month. All I can say is that it seems to be working as expected. Hopefully, it will last at least twice as long as the original one or until I am ready to replace it. I dont tend to upgrade my electronics frequently with ever new thing that comes on the market. However, I am pleased with my Geek Squad maintenance plan. They were very helpful and helped me get back up and running. Thankfully, they were able to recovery what seems to be most of my original data that I can tell so far. I was expecting it might be a complete loss. I give a middle rating for everything on this product because only time will tell. Its too soon to say for sure.

I put this into a low end, originally 400 2012 HP Pavilion windows 8.1 desktop with 8gigs of RAM that took 1215 minutes to boot and I thought was ready to be replaced here in 2020. I did a clean install, no cloning, having offloaded files to an external hard drive first. This thing is AMAZING. The computer now boots in 10 seconds and I can be on the internet 12 seconds from hitting the power button. Faster than new at almost 9 years old Dont know about longevity, but do not hesitate to buy. I now have a new PC.

Added this to my gaming PC to allow more games. I also have Samsung 850 860 EVO 500GB drives, a 960 EVO 250GB drive, and an Inland Premium NVME 500GB drive. Youd think that would be enough space, but nope, games are HUGE Popped this SSD in, initialized it, blah blah blah, firmware was already uptodate, and started filling it up. Was able to free up some space on my other drives, download a ton more games, and still have half the drive left over. Ran AS SSD benchmark, and this thing performs every bit as good as my Samsung SATA SSDs was only about 6 slower overall than my Samsung drives, but costs nearly 40 less than the Samsung 2TB TLC NAND equivalent Dont know about you, but Im not paying 40 more for 6 performance, especially when it wont be noticeable when loading games. Has the same 5year warranty as Samsung, as well, backed by Western Digital, which has always come through when needed.Do yourself a favor and save the cash, get the SanDisk Ultra SSD over the Samsung EVO not worth the extra cost or QVO slower and less write resistance

This is my first SSD to replace an old HDD that was failing. This product does not come with software to transfer to the other drive. You have to go to SanDisk and download the dashboard and in the dashboard there is a link to a drive partitioncloning software. This seemed to be a little bit of a hassle seeing as how Samsung is a little more expensive but has the software right there and available to you. Though this product was cheaper and for my first run I went with a cheaper route just to test the performance difference. The performance was just as expected with boot times less than 30 seconds and readwrite speeds well above that of a HDD was much smoother for downloads and gaming.

Sandisk Ultra 3D SSD 2TbI purchased this drive as replacement for the original 1Tb mechanical HDD in a seven year old Toshiba S55A laptop now running Windows 10. The existing drive was cloned using Macrium Reflect software via USB 2.0 and a StarTech USBIDESATA adapter with external power supply. The first attempt to clone failed with a write error at about 15 transferred, however, I believe that was an adapter problem since after disconnectingreconnecting the several cables and restarting, the clone proceeded successfully. Cloning over USB 2.0 is, however, a very slow process requiring approximately 67 hours for 1Tb. A faster approach would have been to buy a disk caddy for the optical drive bay about 30, however the slower USB transfer did keep the SSD temperature low. After cloning and swapping drives, The computer booted in seconds rather than minutes and now is a transformed machine, as I had expected. It has even allowed me to install and run Davinci Resolve, a video editing software suite with very demanding hardware requirements, albeit with some limitiations. the relevant laptop specs are i7 processor 16GB ram Intel integrated graphicsPhysically, the Sandisk SSD is very lightweight with an all plastic housing, which proved beneficial when I discovered that one drive mount in the laptop had apparently been broken in original assembly so that the drive was only anchored on one side. With the much lower mass of the Sandisk SSD, I believe that the remaining single mounting rail is adequate. In other reviews, Ive seen comments that the Sandisk drives are not supplied with cloning software, and a cursory look at the Sandisk WD site seems to confirm this as only the Sandisk Dashboard software is listed under downloads. The Identical WD Blue SSD, however, does list the WD version of Acronis cloning software as a download and, once you install the Sandisk Dashboard and dig into the menu tree, youll find Other Software which is a link to Acronis, so WD does provide cloning software, although it is not obvious. I prefer Macrium Reflect because it can clone the drive on which it is running, without having to boot to a rescue disc or USB drive, and it is also free.Only time will tell how the 500TB written that is specified for the SSD will translate to the life of the drive, but I expect that will not be the limiting factor for this laptop. In all, I am quite satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend the Sandisk SSD.

Excellent Product to Replace an Older SSD with less capacity. Although aware that Windows10 fits quite comfortably on a 240GB, after much cost deliberation took the plunge to replace an 240GB SSD Sandisk Plus with the 1TB SSD Sandisk Ultra. The older drive was home for only the Windows10 OS. The upgrade allowed keeping the OS, and all essential data, photos, music and videos on the same drive, each category in its own partition. Other nonessential and large files think movies remain on HDD. As I do some photoediting and videoediting, it is pleasing to know that all load much quicker now. Oh, I stuck the old SSD in an old Netbook so there was also a gain in speed there. Glad that I made the decision to upgrade.

I bought this SSD to replace my nearly 10 year old 5400 rpm HDD on a spare PC that I was concerned would soon fail. It was very easy to install and setup. I cloned my HDD to this drive with the Acronis cloning software that was downloaded from the SanDisk web site. It moved the Windows 10 Pro OS along with all my programs, settings, etc. and everything functioned perfectly. I set the new SanDisk SSD as my boot drive and kept the old HDD as a backup drive. Not only did this provide a nice upgrade to my PC, but the speed of startup and all file access improved significantly. I previously upgraded the motherboard, GPU, OS and memory. The only old part was the original hard drive. Now I have a very fast spare PC that will do everything I need.

Used this SSD to replace the WD Blue HDD in my Lenovo laptop. I wish SanDisk would include instructions for doing this. After some online research, downloaded the excellent free AOMEI Backupper software to clone and shrink the larger 1TB HDD to this 512GB SSD. It took about 2.5 hrs to clone 200GB data using my slow USB 2.0 SATA enclosure. But this way I did not have to reinstall Windows 10 or any other software. As a precaution, I disconnected the laptops battery before doing the transplant. Only tool needed was a philips head screwdriver and a plastic guitar puck to pry open the laptop case. Before buying the SSD I had used the HWiNFO program to verify that my laptop supported SATA III interface to get the full benefit of SSD 6Gbs speeds. But I was still surprised to see my laptop boot instantly and all programs load several times faster. I also installed the recommended SanDisk SSD Dashboard software for monitoring the health of the drive.Next project add the 1TB HDD as secondary storage by replacing the DVD drive with a SATA HDD caddy.

Pros This is the second time I have replaced the Hard Drive in my laptops with a SSD 1TB hard drive. I am very impressed that this increases the speed of my two laptops and certainly they both now start up and down load emails within a few minutes where previously with even my HP I7 it could take me at least ten minutes to switch on and download the first few emails. Very pleased with both laptops an I5 and the I7.Cons The two SSD drives are excellent. I was quite a task moving all my software programmes and data across to the new drives. I purchased a caddy case and installed the old drive in that and used it as an external drive so I could copy everything across. Also backup to Dropbox which took a very long time because of the amount to data approx 480 mb. None of these are problems of the SSDs. I am very pleased with both.

For the cost, I think it was a good purchase. As an SSD, it does readwrite at a slower pace than more expensive ones. If very fast speed is what you need, purchase another. If standard SSD Hard drive speed is ok…then pick this one.The install was very easy. Standard SATA cable bought at Best Buy connected to the motherboard and the mounted SSD leaves just the 15pin connector for power and you are up and running.Dont forget to initialize the drive through Disk Management.

I brought my 7 year old Asus Computer that I use for graphic and photographic artwork in for service. I kept hitting the limits of memory when I was using Adobe Photoshop and other programs. The Geek Squad evaluated it and suggested an updated cpu and the San disk 2 TB internal SATA solid state drive. They replaced these and my computer is fast and totally functional. It is not hitting ram limits or C drive storage issues. This was performed under my service contract. I highly recommend their services.

Im using a laptop from 2009 with an i7 processor. I previously had a HDD in the laptop Im using for this review. It was very slow and used to take almost 10 mins to boot, and trying to access webpages and programs took much longer. After swapping the hardware and installing the OS on this SSD, I noticed a huge improvement. It takes 1020 secs to boot until Im on the Desktop, and webpages load quickly. Doing this helped me avoid spending thousands from buying a brand new laptop.

Replaced my PS4 Pros stock hard drive with this. Took a hit to storage space to get the benefits of SSD. I imagine my opinions on this particular drive extend to any of SanDisks SSD options, so if you want more storage, opt for the 1 TB version.I have seen absolutely dramatic improvements in load times after installing this in my PS4 Pro. Couldnt recommend it more highly. Have tested load times in Warframe, Bloodborne, and Horizon Zero Dawn, and all have been cut down tremendously. Wish I wouldve done timed tests with the stock drive before removing it so I could give exact numbers, but its definitely noticeable. If you are thinking of improving load times and minor performance issues with your PS4 pro, this is the best way to do so. I was worried I wouldnt find the switch worth it, but after two days of gaming, Im super happy with my decision. If you have a regular PS4, DO NOT do this upgrade. The regular PS4 does not have SATA III capabilities, and cannot fully utilize the functionalitybenefits of solid state. Youll see some improvement, but not enough there to make it worth your while.

First, connected the SSD to the HP Pavilion via a USB port, using the StarTech cable. This HP Pavilion desktop pc is quite old and, it only had USB 2.0 ports. Even though the StarTech cable is intended to be used on a USB 3.0 port, with faster data transfer speed, the cable worked when connected to the USB 2.0 port.2. Second, checked to make sure that the SSD was detected by the HP Pavilion. The Windows Disk Management application detected the SSD as Disk 2 however, I got a popup message that this disk needed to be initialized. I clicked the Master Boot Record MBR option.3. Third, cloned the internal 500GB HDD to the SSD. The Acronis True Image software from the Western Digital SanDisk web site did not work for me. That software did not find a Western Digital or SanDisk drive and, the only option was to close the software program. Instead, I used Todo Backup Free 12.0 software to clone the HDD. I made sure that the source drive was the HDD Disk 1, and the target drive was the SSD Disk 2. The clone took about 2 hours to complete.4. Fourth, replaced the internal HDD with the SSD. Turned off the HP Pavilion disconnected all cables, etc. opened the case and, took out the HDD. Attached the SSD drive and Insignia SSD mount to the disk drive mounting bracket, by rotating the SSD 90 degrees clockwise from the previous position for the HDD. This allowed the screw holes to line up. The screws originally used to attach the HDD appeared larger than needed, so I used the smaller screws that came with the Insignia SSD mount instead. Attached the SATA cable and power cable, which was used for the HDD, to the SSD. Finally, closed the case and reattached cables, etc.5. Finally, turned on the HP Pavilion. It booted up much faster than before

Sandisk memory cards have been the standard for performance and reliability for the last decade. I have never had an issue with their products, so Sandisk was the obvious choice for upgrading an older iMac to an internal SSHD. Popped the SSHD into an external USB enclosure, Carbon Copy Cloned the start up disk data and then replaced the traditional SATA internal drive with the new SSHD. Startup time dropped to 20 seconds and IO is at least five times faster. One consideration for mac users is that traditional Apple HDs have a temperature sensing circuit that is absent in replacement drives and SSHDs. This causes the fans to ramp up to maximum unless a software patch is installed I used a free downloaded fan speed controller and set the HD fan to a very quiet fixed speed of 1400rpm. No temperature, noise or other issues just a big improvement in speed.

In 2020, I installed this 2TB SSD drive to replace a mechanical 1TB drive in my old 2011 iMac. The iMac now flies. My requirements are mostly word processing, web surfing and Adobe Lightroom with ocassional Photoshop use. Lightroom is substantially faster.Upgrading to the 2TB SSD has definitely put new life in my old iMac and prolonged its use for a few more years. One minor caveat, it appears to make the iMac run just a bit hotter because the fan kicks in more often than previously, not a whole lot but enough that Ive noticed it.Highly recommended.

Ive had good luck with SanDisk SSD Drives. Have had 5 or 6 machines that I have had them in. None have failed yet probably just jinxed myself.I needed a bigger drive for my old fat model PS3. While the console wont take advantage of the full readwrite speeds for the drive, the lack of moving parts and lack of heat the drive generates was over . Was easy to install and has worked perfectly as I expected it to. Would have like to have seen a little lower price point, but still good value for the money especially since I was able to order and pick it up within about an hour vs. having to wait a day or more for delivery.

I was able to purchase the adapter that I needed to install thissolid state drive SSD in the same location as the original disk drive. The Windows 10 disk management software copied the original3 partitions to the new SSD. I now have a C drive image thatis slightly more then 230GB with 2 other partitions on each sideof the 239 GB partition. I was able to format the remaining spaceinto a partition E slightly larger then 1630 GBs however I can not merge it with the 239 GB partition. Some software installs directly to the C drive other software will allow me to install iton the E drive. Hopefully you are computer savy enough toavoid this problem. Installing a SSD which is the same size asthe disk drive you are replacing should avoid this problem.

Product works great…however…the software to create an image of the existing hard drive is from Western Digital. I could not find any link to find the cloning software from SanDisk. I recently installed a WD hard drive in another machine so knowing WD owns SanDisk I used the WD clone software and it worked. Another Gotcha…THE USEFUL UPGRADE SOFTWARE FROM WD WILL ONLY LOAD WITH A WD OR SANDISK DRIVE IN USE ON THE SYSTEM OR IT WILL COST YOU 40. Plugging in a SanDisk thumb drive on an open USB port allowed the free download of the usable software. Once the zip file downloaded, the SanDisk version of the monitoring software for the drive is very nice. For newbees to SSD upgrades I recommend the Samsung EVO series for ease of cloning….much better software. SanDisk drive has been working fine for 2 weeks, no issues.

Installed just like the standard drive in the laptops.Boot time decreased from 1 12 minutes to about 10 seconds in each laptop. Each computer feels like a new machine. Will use one in my media room and one for running a 3D printermilling machine.Great upgrade.Free downloadable configuration, diagnostic, and management software is available on the sandisk site.Highly recommended.

This Sandisk drive is a worthy product if you have a SATA connection and I recommend it. But there are lots and sometimes confusing options out there. This is a nice drive at a nice price and has a 3 year warranty. It used to be that adding memory was the best option for a quick relatively cheap performance upgrade Today its replacing your spin drive with an SSD.If you are looking to boot Windows faster, speed up your day to day processing tasks, extend battery life of a laptop and not have to worry about any moving disk platters SSDs are the way to go. I have replaced all of my main drives on my computers. If you have never cloned a drive, I would suggest using minitoolpartition for free as it works well. Also, to make it very easy to clone the drive I purchased a 2.5inch USB SATA external case. That allows me to pop the new drive into the case, attach it to the computer, start minitoolpartiton, select copy disk wizard and follow directions. Once replaced you can use the old drive you took out in the case as an extra external USB drive.I replaced the spin drive in my dads almost 10yearold Toshiba laptop. Kudos to Toshiba laptop design as access to the drive was very easy requiring only removing 1 screw to access the drive bay. As they say in commercials your access timeseffort may vary. Unfortunately, this Toshiba was so old it had only a SATA II interface so its theoretical speed is limited to 3 Gbs where SATA III is 6 Gbs. This is important as the performancespeed gains were not nearly as great as it could have been. BUT it was still worth it as readwrite access speeds doubled. You can check as to what interface your system has using speccy its free as well, and will give you quite a bit of system info. Also just FYI that Sandisk is now owned by Western Digital WDGreat drive for the price

A bit disappointed with geek squad. I thought that they were capable of installing a new hard drive and recovering the data from the old drive. That was the reason I went to them. After new hard dive was installed, I was told that they could send out my hard drive to another location where they would be able to recover data, at an additional cost. So why does the geek squad exist Cut out the middleman and the expense and have people who can actually get the job done. Geek squad serves the people who are computer illiterate, remove drive then install new one and download software. I did that for 10 years when I worked for ATT. Should have done it myself just didnt have the equipment for data recovery. Totally disappointed with geek squad. The new drive works fine

I was thinking about selling my current computer, an HP CW00007la, it came with a Ryzen 3 processor and 12 GB ram Radeon Vegas 6 Graphics, but it was so freaking slow even after brand new.Once I had everything installed it took about 345 min to start and load all my stuff. Not to mention I didnt store anything there to avoid making it any slower.I bought this SSD on Wednesday and after reinstalling everything it takes only 18 seconds to start up, so imagine my surprise that I can now take advantage on my processor and graphics card. 8 of the initial timeSo if anyone else is thinking about selling their PC for a more powerful one, and your current HDD has a speed of 5400 rpm and a low cache less than 32 Mbsec try upgrading your HDD for a SSD and youll be amazed.I was thinking about this one and the Western Digital, but its the same in the end. Western Digital owns SanDisk, so whatever your choice, youll have a state of the art drive, 5year warranty and you can download a software from the manufacturer to monitor everything on your new SSD. Speed, Storage, Temperature, etc.Do not buy this if you have no idea how to open up a computer and connect this hard drive. It doesnt come with instructions on how to do that.If you have any experience then by all means buy it, you wont regret it

The laptop now runs MUCH faster and I dont have to worry as much about the laptop getting hit while running and damaging the drive, since these drives dont have any fragile moving parts like the old drives do.I trust the Sandisk company to make a quality reliable product

I purchased this solid solid state drive on recommendation of the Geek Squad. Its for an 8 yr old laptop that had gotten very sluggish. Wow, what a difference Its like I have a new computer The installation included transferring from the old hard drive. But only documents, and photos, not programs. Id prefer they simply copy the entire hard drive or at least take a screen shot of the home page so I could remember what I had. It took me a few hrs to reconstruct what I had but overall an excellent experience.

Great hard drive. Fast access and no problems yet. I have a couple of 1TB drives that have worked well for the past couple of years. Easily put into an enclosure for portability, which is how I use it. Price is usually decent compared to other similar brands. Supposed to be more stable than an normal HD so hope it holds up over time.

Had a 2012 Mac Mini with i7 and 1TB drive that was showing its age. The system was starting to crawl, taking more than its sweet time to boot, life had become painful. I discovered through some research that these models have had some issues with the internal SATA cable and well, a platter drive thats upwards of 8 years old is pretty much a guaranteed headache anyway. Ordered the SATA cable from Amazon went through the somewhat complicated replacement procedure, and in under an hour was installing the latest public beta of macOS 10.15.4.The performance of the machine resembles the kinds of speed it had when I first got it. Thanks to this, the system should be viable for some time to come.

My old Dell 5520 laptop was purchased in 092012 with Windows 7. It would take 10 minutes just to reboot. So, I upgrade its original 4GB RAM to 10GB in 022019 and then replaced its 700GB Hard drive with the SanDisk Ultra 512GB Internal SATA Solid State Drive SSD in 082019 along with OS upgrade to Windows 10.Suddenly, the original Intel CORE i32.37GHz CPU found its new life… Not only it takes less than 1 minutes to reboot now but also, the speed of bringing up or closing out many Windows based software applications have been drastically improved. Given the above upgrades hopefully, I will be able to enjoy this old Dell laptop for another 710 years. Time will tell the quality of this product.

I read the instructions prior to starting the job and followed them faithfully. There absolutely no problem installing the new drive along with the additional RAM memory. When I reassembled the computer and started it up, it was as if i had just spent 1,000 on a new computer with an I5 Quad processor. What I did was spend 160 on the solid state drive and RAM memory. I have used several SanDisk SSDs along with PNY and have had no issues with either. I bought this to upgrade the factory 1TB, secondary, mechanical drive that came with my laptop. The 1TB drive was a secondary drive so I didnt need to clone the existing drive using Acronis. I just replaced the existing drive and formatted it when the laptop booted.I have used SanDisk ssds in upgrades to Macs and Windows machines, both desktop and laptop and have had no issues using these drives as replacements. The drives are fast and well priced, especially when you can get the 2TB ssd on sale. Needed this in a hurry to replace a smaller one that I was using for the OS that got full. I found it pricey but it does the job well and hopefully is big enough to last 23 more years before bloated Windows OS and MS apps fill it up.Worst part of the installation was the features that were lacking in the included free Acronis cloning software. It replicated the existing 256 GB SDD and created a 256GB image with the remaining going into a recover partition that does not need to be that big. Needed to use a different software to get rid of that partition and join them into one partition.

The newer HP laptop only had a SSD PCIe 128 GB to run the laptop. It had no secondary storage. This fit the bill and helped add additional speed to the laptop fitting the HDD bay in the laptop. The SSD is setup as a storage drive to compliment the smaller SSD that has the operating system on it. The only other things needed to do the install was a SATA ribbon cable and a caddy which I obtained from another source.

I use this in conjunction with a solid state drive mounting adapter that I bought on amazon. I used it to upgrade a MacBook pro 15 from 2011, and it worked perfectly, until I decided to work on the computer without disconnecting the battery, which fried the inductor chip which controls the screen. So now I just have a fantastic solid state drive with no use. I think Im going to use it in my PlayStation 3 so I can play games from the early 2000s as fast as feasibly possible. In all honesty good construction incredibly light freaking fast read and write speeds, for a silly low price. For being made out of plastic, I think, super solid and even comes with goldplated connectors, just be careful with your finger Grease because it will significantly detract from read and write speeds.

I perform a relatively large amount of drive upgrades from mechanical to SSD. The SanDisk SSD line is without question the most reliable drive to transfer data drive to drive. I have NEVER had to replicate a data transfer to a SanDisk drive because of errors. I wish I could say that about other SSD manufacturers. Just because you pay more for something does not always mean your getting a better product.

Early to review, as Ive only had it for about a month. So far its worked great and is super speedy compared to my analog disks.I will say it is nice to have the ability to put my 3tb apple photos folder onto one drive, the main reason I purchased it for. So if you have an application like Apple photos, this is a great drive to get. In the past, on regular HHD drives the program was slow and many times it would load so slowly I would wait for a full ten minutes before I could access my photo archive. There were also issues with the program not loading outside editors like photoshop, Luminar or 3rd party filters and effects. So far Im pretty happy with this drive. Ive been using Sandisk for many years for SD and CF cards and have never had a card fail or go corrupt, Im hoping the reputation for reliability extends to Sandisks SSDs as well.

I bought this to replace the physical hard drive in a 2018 iMac. The iMac ran so slow, it was like being in 2001 all over again. A reinstall didnt help. It was still under warranty, but with the Apple stores closed due to COVID19, it could be months before we could take it in. It took some patience and a replacement adhesive kit from online but the swap of the hard drive was the easy part. This drive turned the iMac into a BLAZING fast machine. My girlfriend says its now the fastest computer shes ever used she hasnt used my desktop, haha. Seriously, though, installing an SSD will have the most impact on an aging or underperforming computer, and this SSD is an excellent performer. Even better when you consider the price.

I have fairly good general knowledge about computer hardware, but Im not well versed with super technical details. Fortunately, I have friends that are and such a friend picked this drive out of Best Buys lineup.Ive only had the drive installed for a few days, but so far the difference has been staggering. My computer boots essentially instantaneously by the time my TV is done powering on, Im already at my desktop. Games load noticeably quicker as well, despite the fact that my CPU is very old and wasnt good in the first place and in fact is now part of a class action lawsuit. The only thing that gives me trepidation is the fact that it was discounted half price. Whenever I see that kind of sale on a computer part, it makes me concerned that there is something wrong with it or that the sale was artificial. At the end of the day, its price was in line with typical SSD prices, so only time will tell. Also, be warned that this drive does not come with any additional components, such as a tray, clips, or cables.Technology is always improving and hard drives are going to constantly become cheaper and better, so whether or not this is a worthwhile purchase in the long term is up in the air, but if you need a new drive right now, it seems to me this is a solid choice.

So first up I read several reviews here and elsewhere before I settled on this one. I have a 256GB M.2 and thought about the Evo 970 but then Id have to sacrifice 256GB and redo Windows which on the patch before now messed up the boot drive put it on data instead of Windows drive. Anyway went and picked this up and figured Id need some tools to put it in but it took me all of 5 minutes to put it in and download the software to format it for Windows. Very easy to use and very snappy compared to an HDD and doesnt feel THAT much more slow than my M.2 although Im sure it is. The loading times on games have dramatically dropped and I mean in some cases by over a minute. Just plugged in the two cables where I had a spare slot for this or another HDD and Ive been off to the races. I have read people say once you got 500GB it slows down and I can categorically deny that as Ive got 750GB on it and its just as fast as when empty.

Fast, easy to install. Does require software such as EaseUS Partition Manager to copy an existing OS and data to the SSD. Size your SSD to handle all of the OS plus Program Files and Program Files X86. If your user data wont fit, then you will need to your Pictures, Music, and Videos to a separate HDD, then delete them from the original HDD before transferring to the SSD. Optionally, just purchase a larger SSD to allow copying all of your HDD to the new SSD.

When CrystalDiskInfo tagged my aging HPs 2TB hard drive as down to 10 service life remaining, it was time to quickly come up with a plan to swap it out for a new one. Did a lot of comparison shopping, and chose this SanDisk 2TB SSD. Along with a 3.5 to 2.5 mounting bracket, and a SATA to USB adapter, it was very easy to use Macrium Reflect to clone my existing drives contents to the new SanDisk SSD. Ten minutes to open the case, swap the drives, and my computer was up and running without missing a single beat. Computer boots and loads files much faster now. After several months of flawless performance, Im picking up a spare, to keep a 2nd cloned disk as a bit of an insurance policy.

i bought this drive as part of an upgrade path to bring my sons PC into the modern era. This in conjunction with a new processor was to be his big expense Christmas gift. This drive was replacing a 1 TB hybrid drive which has functioned perfectly fine for almost a decade, but is definitely showing its age in regards to speed when loading and playing new games and programs. I performed a clean install of windows on the drive and it was running absolutely beautifully, until i turned off the PC. the next time we booted it up, it would not load windows and the drive was not detected. I repeated this process 6 times all with the same result. I quick swapped his original hybrid drive into the system and boom it started right up with zero issues.I am not sure if the unit i got was defective or if there is just something about this generation drive not being compatible with the motherboard on initial start. It is very odd. Numerous restarts during the install and same day usage of it when i first installed it was fine. The problem would ONLY occur if there was a full power down and power up of the system. The only BIOS settings that were changed was what boot drive to use after using the WIN install media, so if there is a specific BIOS setting i need to change to go from old school spinning drive to this SSD, i would love any help i can get. Oddly, i have built over a dozen PCS all with SSD or NVME boot drives and not one of them has experienced this issue.

Have an old tower that originally came with windows 7 that we later upped to 8 and finally 10. Watching you tube videos was almost impossible kept buffering. We didnt turn it off because it took over 5 mins before it loaded windows and worked half way decent. I added 2 more ram sticks to it and that barely did anything. So got this flash drive and wow the entire system boots in 10 seconds. Click on a you tube video and it just plays no buff or load delays. Its like tablet fast now. Software works to clone your drive not the best but it works. If you want something better for like 20 EaseUS clone drive software works best and more options. As far as how long they last no worries for me I will keep my old hard drive in my safe so I can reclone in case of crash and I always back up my data, pics etc to external drive.

Upgrading to an ssd was exactly what my old laptop needed. I originally purchased my laptop when Windows 7 was still the operating system of choice. It sped it up quite a bit. Now I use it as one of my main work stations. The cloning software kit was very user friendly and easy to use as well. All in all,its been a great experience. I bought this to clone an HDD disk over to the SDD to improve boot times and computer performance. No OEM software is provided and the links to the Dashboard is useless in cloning.Find Macrium Reflect 7 Free Edition, download it, and use it to clone your HDD to the SDD. I tried at least 4 different free cloning software including a Western Digital one and only Macrium worked. I deleted the program after it completed the clone as it installs I bunch of stuff that runs in the background, etc.The SanDisk itself has greatly improved the startup and performance of my aged desk top Lenovo ThinkCentre M73. Mounting this in the chassis was a little challenging as the bracket adapter that Best Buy recommended did not work for me.

I have a Dell XPS 8700 I bought in 2005 and I had Geek Squad clone the original hard drive to this to make this the boot drive. Because of Covid their Geek Squad staff wasnt fully staffed and it took 8 days to clone a 1TB hard drive. They called me and said it was ready and they did all the diagnostics and everything was good. I picked it up, started it up, it asked to choose a keyboard layout and then I hit continue to Windows 10 and it rebooted and asked me to choose the keyboard layout again. I took it back and they had to wipe the clone and do a fresh install. Apparently there was an issue with a Windows 10 update that caused the keyboard layout loop, but it took 2 more days for the new install. Yes, it sucks that I was told it was ready when it wasnt, but on the bright side, they have a really cute girl in the Geek Squad so I got to see her several times. As far as the performance of this SSD, it boots very fast and it opens my programs very fast. What used to be called defrag is now called trimming so you can still optimize an SSD safely.I have an i74790 CPU with 32GB of DDR3 RAM and a 6GB GTX 1060 video card. I just bought Halo The Master Chief Collection and there are no frame blurs or after images. When I bought this on 0629 the price dropped by 70 a few days later and Best Buy honored the price match so I ended up paying 250.

This is my first purchase of a SanDisk product that wasnt a flash drive or an sd card. The former have always stood the test of time. I had my heart set on a Samsung EVO, but with the price difference for the same size drive, I decided to try the SanDisk Ultra. I am pretty confident that I made the right decisin. To whit, I just purchased a EVO for my laptop, and ran a SSD disk performance utility on both drives. While the EVO did have better stats, it wasnt significant in real world stats unless you are reading or writing huge amounts of data on a regular basis. This bears out in day to day use as both drives seem similar in snapiness. Well done SanDisk, your Ultra line appears to be a good combination of price and performance.

Great drive, poor Geek Squad installation and install of wrong operating system.Works well as primary drive andor secondary drive. Would buy again, but would not have the simple installation done by Geek Squad. They did not follow the repairservice order instructions nor consult with client before making major changes on the original drive when instaing this secondary drive. Also unplugged one dvd drive making it useless to use cable instead of installing a new cable to the motherboard directly to the new sata drive. Very dissappointed with Geek Squad.Love the sata solid state drive. Definitely Reccomend.

The product does not include any cloning software in a package. Therefore, it was hard to find a proper one that worked. After SSD was connected to the SATA 3 cable adapter the system did not see the disk, moreover, SanDisk SSD Dashboard software did not see the SSD. Acronis True Image WD Edition Software did not see the SSD as well. SanDisk is owned by Western Digital. Apricon software could find SSD but did not let me clone the disk.EasyUS TODO software is free to use, however, it installed Chromium on my laptop and asked me to allow extensions to Chrome Browser. Overall EasyUS TODO looked like a virus. Thus, I deleted it as soon as installed and did not try to use it. The only software that worked in my case was Macrium Reflect 7.1 free. Also, I watched a youtube video made by GadgetClass channel published on Dec 31, 2014, which walked me through all the steps. Cloning the disk took 4.5 hours in my case. After SSD was installed in the laptop the system boot up in 7 seconds and SanDisk SSD Dashboard software started to recognize SSD. If I would do this process all over again I would buy Samsung EVO 860 that includes a Magician software made by Samsung company and available for download from their website.

I bought this for an Atomos SSD recorder and it works great But pretty much any modern SSD would do the trick for high datarate 200mbps video recording because 200 megabitssec is only 25 megaBytessec. SSD write speeds exceed 200 megaBytessec. The big benefit of SSD is the transfer speed moving video to a drive for editing. Its blazing fast compared to the fastest SD cards. If I needed an SSD for a computer OS drive, Id get the Crucial MX500 instead for better overall performance for about the same price. Overall, though, I think this is very good SSD.

SanDisk is a brand of Western Digital. It was acquired by WD in 2016. As of March 2019, WD is the fourthlargest manufacturer of flash memory having declined from thirdlargest in 2014 source Wikipedia.Being one of the major players in flash memory products market, Sandisk brand inspires reliability. For this reason I decided to buy a Sandisk ULTRA 500Gb SSD.Sandisk products support is available in the Web. Within the product packing, a small paper card informs web addresses that help customers to use the product, specially the Solid State Drive Installation and Cloning Guide available at httpskb.sandisk.comappanswersdetailaid11678kwssd20ultra and the URL of the app needed to clone or backup a SATA HD.In order to help users to prepare and use the SSD, one sugestion to SandiskWD include in the packaging a USB 3.0 to 2.5 SATA HDDSSD Cable even if it costs a little more.

I would recommend this SanDisk SATA SSD to anyone. I installed a 480GB SanDisk Extreme Pro in my daughters laptop cloned it from existing HHD back in 2015 and she has had absolutely no issues whatsoever. Made her laptop several times faster to use while saving on battery. I purchased this 1T SanDisk Ultra to replace my existing 1T HDD in my computer. I run an i78700K desktop with GTX 1080 Ti GPU that boots from a Samsung 960 Pro M.2 512GB NVMe SSD but it still uses a 1T WD HDD for extra storage. I need the HDD to install in my old first gen i7 computer to give my granddaughter to allow her more storage beyond the 256GB SSD boot drive in it. So, rather than buy another hard drive as I had been planning and because SSD prices have dropped so much, it made more sense to me to use faster SSD storage instead. Anyway, SanDisk is a good brand that offered speeds as fast as the most popular brands and at a better price. Also, their warranty is for the same period 5 years.

Sata III drives are becoming a thing of the past. Max theoretical speed on sata III is 600 mbs, about 14 the speed of nvme drives. This should be cheaper, its old technology and this drive in particular has lagging write speeds. Any Sata III SSD can get fast read speeds, but the amount of nand flash dictated the write speed and its consistently below 300 mbs on this drive. The Samsung pro evo and qvo lines are much better and faster.

Ive got a house full of old computers, I installed this SSD card in a Dell OptiPlex 780 USFF computer. This tiny unit was released in 2009. I turned it on and was surprised that it still worked. Since I bought it refurbished in 2011, it was equipped with Windows 7. I installed Windows 10 free and figured since it didnt matter if it worked or not, Id take a shot and see what I could do to update it. I installed a 512 SSD card and wow did it make a difference. Im in the process of maxing out the memory and possibly updating the CPU to a dual quad core. So far its convinced me that at some point ALL of the four working computers I have left will be equipped with SSD cards.

When I replace a desktop computer, it is usually because Ive gotten tired of its lackluster performance rather than due to equipment failure. My fiveyearold computer was starting to feel draggy, but I liked its versatility and form factor. What I needed was a way to soup it up. By replacing the SATA 7200 RPM hard drive with this affordable but capacious solid state unit, I have found the magic elixir. Now the PC boots up at least as fast as my state of the art Smartphone and accomplishes all data transfers at warp speed. This has made a greater difference in performance than any other upgrade I have ever made. I am happy with my PC again Thank you, SanDisk.

Was looking for a 2TB or larger SSD for my HP omen desktop to store my games for quick load and play. In store they only had this or the Samsung QVO, I chose this over the QVO due to concerns of delays when those got high levels of high write. and I wanted a style like this over a M.2 due to ease of getting them in the OMEN 30L case for quick install.Overall I am very happy with this drive, its fast quick and makes playing and loading games a non issue. Would highly recommend

I purchased this for my wife who is an artist and photographer. She is always running out of space so what better gift to give her than the gift of added space on her new computer. Especially helpful for those larger files. Perfect way to keep track of those memories. It would be great for people needing to put scanned documents, files, or just about anything. Who doesnt need more space

I purchased this for a business that I support that required offsite backups on the cheap. Basically I installed this SSD in an older system that was not part of the domain and installed OneDrive on the system and upgraded OneDrive to the maximum 2 TB limit. I then setup a Robocopy script that copies all their data to this drive which then gets uploaded to OneDrive.I tried this with a standard platter drive however hard drive usage stayed at near 100 all the time. With this SSD hard drive usage barely hits 5 to 10 percent.Sandisk is also a great brand name and I have never had any issues with any of their products in the past. For the price you are getting a good brand name on a time tested SSD for a very good cost. I highly recommend if you are not running a new system that has M.2 NVME.

I have a CPU, Memory, and Drive meter on my 6 yr old desktop running Windows 10 and my c Drive was typically at 100 utilizatin storage capacity at 75. Opening pictures, Docs, and websites were taking several seconds to open. Before dropping 1k on a new desktop I gave this SSD a try and so happy I did. Compatiability, do make sure which SATA plug your computer uses. This one is SATA, while some others SDDs are SATA III and my limited internet search said they were slight different plugs. I took my current 3.5 c drive and placed it into my old EZ dock 2 dual dock station along with this new SanDisk SDD and put into cloning mode. I did not format the new drive. After 6 hours to clone 1.5TB off old drive, I plugged the new SDD into my desktop, powered up, off to the races. Note I did buy the CORSAIR 3.5 to 2.5 bracket adapter for 6 which worked fabulous. Boot up was immediate, just like the first day you buy a new desktop without the clutter. Everything opens fast again, its great. Even my internet download speed test jumped from 650 to 920. If you can get this SDD when its on sale, you will never ever go back to HDD. Today Im going to buy 1TB SDDs and install them in my kids gaming computers which originally only came with 256G.

I replaced a 2 year old 500MB that was slower. I took the old SSD from my older desktop and inserted into my new computer. Had a feeling it was a bit slow and I needed the extra storage to install on the C drive all my music production software. I am happy with it so far. My desktop boots up faster than my external hardware. I have to wait a few extra seconds to use my mouse and keyboard once it boots to the login screen.

I bought this to replace the hard drive in my laptop. The SSD seems to work fine. However, I have not yet been able to get the SSDs firmware updated or clone the contents of my existing hard drive so that I can replace the existing hard drive with this SSD.I have the SSD mounted in a SATA Hard Drive Docking Station as an external hard drive connected to my laptop via USB. For some reason, in that configuration, the Sandisk firmware updater available from Sandisks web site does not seem to recognize the SSD as a Sandisk product so it will not update the firmware. My laptop can find and read the SSD when mounted in the docking station but, the firmware updater insists that there is no Sandisk product connected to the laptop.I have also not yet succeeded in using the Acronis software available from the Sandisk website to clone the contents of my existing hard drive to this one. The Acronis software recognizes the SSD as a Sandisk or Western Digital product unlike the firmware updater and appears to clone the existing hard drives contents to the SSD but, when I mount the SSD in my laptop, the laptop will not boot into Windows 10.It is possible that the docking station is the issue. If I do figure out why the firmware update and cloning were unsuccessful, I will revise my review to include what steps it took to make everything work.

Revived a six year system. Super fast boot time, and overall better PC performance, whether you do a system clone or a clean install of operating system. Have cloned five systems, and all have demonstrated impressive performance. SanDisk offers the software free of charge for the cloning process. Recommend checking for the latest BIOS update from your PC manufacture prior to upgrade.

Bought this in May of 2020 for my wifes laptop. Installed windows on it worked great. Immediately upon installing Windows on it, she didnt use it, and it sat in the office closet until March 2021. I take it out and start using it again daily. Two weeks later the drive starts acting out and will disconnect itself from Windows during usages at random moments. Disappears from device manager, results in blue screen of death. I pull the drive and start using it externally with USB to diagnose, after a hour of usage connected to USB3, drive dies gruesome death and is never again detected when connected. All in all, I got about 20 days of usage out of this drive. Shipping for warrantee exchange makes warrantee work a waste of time. Best Buy exchange promise is only 15 days.
