Most of what we pay for a phone these days is software… And it’s not Sony’s strong point.. the cameras are good.. however the colours especially the autumnal ones seem flat and need a fair bit of editing especially dynamic range.. However the features the jack socket and the expandable memory is a bonus and is a major selling point considering rivals don’t have this in their flagships. Software is a standard android skin, works as expected nothing fancy… Money wise it’s expensive I got a bit off mine during a sale but it’s still a pricey device.. Front facing speakers are good and perfect for watching a film or video on YouTube. Overall pretty good.. have used Sony Xperias before so knew what to expect although that was 14 years ago
I think with some more software updates on the camera… It would be up there. 3 people found this helpful

July 2024 Style Name: Xperia 1 VI Khaki Green Colour: Khaki Green Very good phone, high price but what can you expect from a top-shelf phone. battery performance is great. the resolution is lower than in the previous version but unnoticeable. I highly recommend it 10 people found this helpful

Love this new Sony. Camera is simplified compared to Sony 1 iii just slide a task bar at the bottom to record or take photo has Esim compatibility with another SIM slot and micro SD card. Also has a music pro app which isn’t for me but you can add vocals beat’s all on different bars so you can play around with each sound independently. Fit bit app and can plug in an external video device via usb. It’s Sony and I’m a Sony guy never like the prices but it is quality. 7 people found this helpful

I have been lamenting the death (due to Google boycott) of Huawei the last few years cos the P30 pro was the best phone I ever had. But now the Xperia 1vi is. And hand down too. I got it cos I’m am an audiophile and this is the phone for people who like to hear quality music. But it’s also great in every other way. Literally the only criticism I have is that the on/off and fingerprint button should have a bump near it so that it is easier to locate sensually. 3 people found this helpful

Getting rid of the OTT power hungry 4K screen and going to a less wide screen ratio a big plus for me (and it goes brighter and down to 1Hz). Good cooling vs previous versions, class leading battery life and an even longer optical zoom all great pluses. Very few other phones if you still want 3.5mm audio and mSD card storage, and this sounds great with my wired Shure SE846’s or Fiio FD7’s. Also great audio & stable over BT with my Sony WF-1000MX5 buds. Physical/visual design little changed but don’t fix what isn’t broken, I love the design with no Hole/Island in the screen, great front facing speakers, dedicated camera button and pin-less SIM/mSD card tray and a proper finger print reader at the side. 9 people found this helpful

I have had a Sony Xperia phone for quite a few years now and this is by far the best one. An excellent phone, perfect size, amazing screen and functionality and the camera is superb. I can happily confirm that all reviews are accurate in terms of all the great things this phone offer. I cannot fault it in any way. It is not cheap admittedly, but if one is prepared to spend a bit more money for extra quality (whilst avoiding moving over to the ‘dark side’ of Apple!) then I would totally recommend it. Brilliant phone! 18 people found this helpful
