I recently bought a pair of Bose QC35 wireless, series 1 headphones. Dont get me wrong, they were great but for whatever reason, they werent as good as I was hoping they would be. Im not sure if this was due to them being factory refurbished bought through the Bose website so Bose themselves signed off on them or if they just were that disappointing. So, I ended up going to my local Best Buy and trying, one after the other, the WH1000XM3 and Bose QC35 Series 2 exactly the same specs as my Series 1 except with a dedicated assistant button on the side, so completely unrelated to this test although I didnt think I would use the assistant all that much but I will say that I actually use it all the time and its great to have, but I regress. I was blown away on how much better the Sonys sounded. They Sonys have a much fuller sound, the bass is not completely overblown but much more pronounced than the Bose. It just has a better, richer sound. There are parts of songs that dont come through on the Bose headphones but are available when listening through the Sony. I will say, these are most definitely audiophile level headphones but true audiophiles will most likely say that they are most certainly on the lowest end of audiophile level but the average listener wont everbe able to tell the difference and regardless, anyone would be thrilled to have these as their daily driver headphones. The noise cancellation alone was far superior on the Sony WH1000XM3. The only thing that is slightly better with the Bose is the incall quality. I was told by multiple people that I sounded better during a call when I used the Bose vs. the Sony, however, the Sonys definitely sounded just okay as they would be good enough if I werent taking business calls or if I wasnt in a super windyloud environment. They got the job done better than most alternative wireless headphones for the price. The Bose are just really good at call quality as, for the money, theyre currently the best option. So if you take a lot of phone calls for work or such, go with the Bose, you wont be disappointed but just realize that there isnt really much of a debate that if you want music quality, the Sonys are your best bet. They both fit snug and didnt feel at all cheap or heavy on my ears. In fact, they feel so good, I sometimes forget Im even wearing them which is super trippy walking around downtown with the noise cancellation and just rocking out. They both feel different on the head and with the fit but honestly I really couldnt tell which ones I liked more. They both hada superb fit. All in all, it has been one of the best purchases I have ever had. My only real gripe is the fact that they are not waterproof or even water resistant for that matter. So I cant wear them in the rain or working out not that I would, anyways. If you have the money, I say go for it.

Being someone that has always been an avid fan of overear headphones these are definitely at the top of my list and have become my everyday headphones. After using these you definitely will not want to go back to other headphones. To get right into it, the main feature that sets these apart is the noise cancellation. With overear headphones there is a big difference stepping up to each price point and originally I had thought Id be able to settle in that 150200 range, but the noise cancellation that Sony was able to incorporate in these is astonishing and is definitely something that cant be imagined until you actually use it as I cant sing its praises enough. With the great noise cancellation comes great sound quality and the ability to cancel out outside noises only makes the crispness in the sound quality that much better. Without writing a book I will say that with the superior noise cancellation and fullcrisp sound quality audio is amazing with these headphones. However, there are other headphones on the market that have great sound quality as well, but some of the other features of these headphones help set it apart even more aside from just the great noise cancellation. One major factor for me with headphones is aesthetics and these headphones are great in that they provide a very minimal design that is not overly bulky yet also provide superior comfort similar to those that do have the massive earcups that focus specifically on comfort. The build quality is also exceptional as you can tell quality materials have been used and the fact that it uses USBC to charge is a great edition which helps future proof them. With this comes the fast charge ability in that in only 15 minutes of charging you get about 5 hours of battery life with a full charge only taking a couple hours. Then finally the touch features actually are very responsive as opposed to other models that attempt this feature so that is definitely a plus instead of having to memorize where all the buttons are for each function. Overall I just cant say enough positive things about these headphones as they are great in nearly every dimension and pack so many features Im sure I have missed one or two. I would definitely recommend these over nearly every other pair of headphones in the market as the noise cancellation simply cant be beat, especially at this price point.

I have been using the XM3s for sometime now and I am generally satisfied with my purchase. The build quality is superb and the noise cancelling functionality is great. Also, the battery life and charging times are very good. One thing that made this get 1 star less are the touch sensors. They are sometimes not responsive and I have mainly struggled with activated the throughsound functionality by placing my hand on the right side. As far as I know, this is a common issue, so just be aware of that.

Excellent noise cancelling features. Works really well even with the power tools running. The sound quality is pretty good and the headphones are comfortable to wear over long periods of time. Leather ear pads tend to get a bit sweaty when wearing for long period of time or in a warmer climate. The touch controls can be a bit finnicky. I have accidentally skipped tracks while trying to adjust the headphones. But its not the worst thing considering. Battery life is fantastic. But I have only had for a month, so well have to see how it fairs over time. The one downside, as with many other Sony headphones not compatible with PS4 Its rather silly given that they are both Sony products. I guess the only reason why theyd make it incompatible is to try and sell a separate headset for the gaming consoles.

I treated myself to this headset after many hours of lockdown conference calls using another product that had been fine for less intense use but that I now find increasingly uncomfortable. My main use of the headset is for conference calls often lasting upwards of an hour I needed something comfortable with good sound and microphone. I also wanted something that would reignite my love of music and help me enjoy my collection once again I was a little nervous spending this much on a headset but having used them for two weeks Ive no regrets. First impressions are good high quality packaging and I loved the rugged supplied case holding the headset, charging cable, flight adapter and wired headset cable. For most purposes I think this case would be great for secure storage and travelling. At first glance the instructions look a little underwhelming, mainly consisting of a single large sheet with pictorial guidance and a few pages of technical information duplicated in LOTS of languages. However, the information was clear and I was able to wirelessly connect to two Windows laptops and an Apple smartphone without problem and within a matter of minutes. The synthesised voice made me smile among other things, advising of power onoff, bluetooth pairing and, usefully, giving an indication of the percentage of battery charge left at the push of a button The build quality of the headset itself is impressive. They feel robust and look great mine in black with subtle copper highlights. The headset is certainly not as heavy as its solid build quality implies and I have been able to wear it comfortably for several hours at a time. The headband has plenty of adjustment and is well padded across the top of the head and over the ears. So how does it perform Brilliantly As I noted above, wireless connectivity was simple to set up and within minutes I was listening to some familiar tracks with awe, noticing or at least recalling the presence of subtleties in the sound that I had lost completely by using PC speakers for so many years. The soundscape and range is genuinely impressive. I am fortunate enough to work in a quiet area so wasnt too bothered about the noise cancelling feature but as it is enabled by default I used it and am amazed by how effective it is Cuts out just about everything from the neighbours lawnmower through to the noise of my phone ringing I also love the ability to just cup my hand over the right speaker case to cut the volume and enable ambient sound in to let me converse without removing the headset. I have also found I quickly got used to the swipe controls on the headset to adjust volume a little fiddly at first but it avoids extra buttons or dials on the headset that would detract in my eyes from its appearance. A great deal of the time I spend using the headset is on conference calls and once again I cannot fault them for this purpose. As you would expect, the sound quality is good and those that I have asked all say that they can hear me very clearly. Cannot ask for more Finally, battery life. Seems to be excellent despite heavy use many hours a day I am getting an easy full week of use out of a charge. Recommended YES

Fantastic set of headphones. Was impressed with the noise cancelling, and the ease of setup with a variety of devices LG TV, Windows 10 laptop and Android phone. The companion app is reasonably easy to use, but does have some clunky design quirks for example you cant look at an EQ curve from the list of presents without actually flicking to that preset, meaning that you have to slowly scroll through each one to get to the one you want with a small delay each time Also, pairing the device is only possible when turning it on. A separate pairing button would help where you need to switch devices or repair for some reason without having to hold the button to power down, then hold it again to power up, then keep holding to enter pairing mode. All minor niggles im loving these, and am using the out at thre supermarket, in the office when i need to concentrate, even watching TV without disturbing the family in the evenings. You can even make pretty clear calls on it both from your phone and through MS Teams, etc on a laptop Great piece of kit worth every penny

This is the second WH1000XM3 headset we have purchased and our third Sony WH1000 headset. Our first Sony headset the WH1000 has been in use for several years and we upgraded to the XM3 more than two years ago. The XM3 is more comfortable and sounds better than the XM1 so it was a good upgrade. We tried the XM4 headset before purchasing another XM3 and didnt find it to be as comfortable, sound any better, and had issues connecting with Blu Tooth devices It was returned and we purchased another XM3 at the discounted price and are very happy with it. This was a brand new updated XM3 headset and not a referb or used item as I received from Amazon. We also tried several Apple Beats headsets but found the Sony XM3 to be far superior in every aspect. For the price you can not go wrong.

Amazing battery, good sound and fantastic noise cancellation. I have an autism spectrum disorder, and these headphones help me with sound sensitivity. Also ideal for anyone who uses public transit planes, trains, and automobiles buses. Pretty high tech setup in the app. Great support even though this is an older model. The new XM4s are now some of the best headphones for anyone with noise sensitivity or misophonia. Im happy with these I have used these with thousands of hours of music, videos and games. Im no audiophile but thats not why I purchased these headphones. Nevertheless, youll want to turn down the bass with the companion app or in your music players equalizer settings not both. Best. Purchase. Ever.

Pros My first headphones over GBP 50. Quality is excellent but I dont listen to much music these days. Bought these for travel, office and audiobooks. Mainly noise cancelling when surrounded by strimmers, lawn mowers and hedge trimmers. Plus long air travel. Noise cancelling is excellent like magic. I havent found much use for the app. Cons Still trying to work out if the blue tooth turns off when plugged in to jack. I think it does This way I can have the sound cancelling but still pick up calls and use the ambient feature in the office without a transmitter pulsing. Dont know why the charge cable has to be so short, literally 3 which means having put the phones on a box to charge at the wall socket.

I can confidently state my suspicions that these beautiful ear sound inducers were forged in Mount Doom to be the one pair of ear muffs to rule them all. Forged by Saurony himself to enable the User to travel to an alternate dimension of quiet, and delete all other inhabitants of Middle Earth from existence once the Wearer switches them on. With a little tuning, they will sound punchy and crystal clear greater than any competitors and will quickly send all enemies tumbling to the underworld within moments. The Wearer will be infused with confidence over all others as they stride about, superior to the clans of Bose and Sennheiser and all the other pathetic underlings. Furthermore, though the top of the headband could be improved with a little more padding, the comfort level of these are superior to even the Plantronics Backbeat Pro, which are drowned in foam, as they cause no pain to the outside of the ears due to them sitting entirely over the ears and therefore not putting any stress on the cartilage. However, after long periods of use, the muffs can cause a small layer of sweat to build up where the cups meet the head. It would be nice if there was an clicking activator button dedicated to the Google Assistant Of Google or the Alexa Of Amazon rather than having to remapthe the clicking activator for the toggling of the Environmental Removal Tool also known as Noise Cancelling. The app is as great as the Grey… Wait, no White Wizard they call something beginning with G, and though it is on the tip of my tongue I cannot remember quite what his name was. Anyway, the battery life is excellent and so is the scabbard they call the carry case, which is well made and has an impressively satisfying zip. However the cable included for charging and the aux cable seem a little cheap. The design of the muffs is impressive and stylish and overall these are basically perfect, thanks Sony. Bit on the pricey side though.
