These Sony headphones are almost perfection. The comfort is like nothing I have felt before, I could keep these headphones on all day and my ears would not be bothered by them. The active noise cancellation is great, I could barely hear anything and thats when I tried to. Sound quality is outstanding and clear, crystal clear. I have not used them when talking to somebody on the phone so I cant comment on that. But, there are two things that are just a little annoying about them and they are kind of nitpicky. The first one is if you shake your head from side to side while listening to music, you can hear and almost feel the system in the headphones moving side to side with you. Thats not major because not too many people are shaking their heads side to side while listening to music but if you did do said action accidentally, you will notice it and it will make you wonder if you are damaging your headphones. The second thing is the fact that it can only pair to one device at a time. In todays age, the normality for most headphones is that they can connect to multiple things and it would have been nice If Sony had included that feature with their topoftheline headphones. If these had the capability of letting me connect to my tablet and my phone at the same time that would be amazing. Once again thats a nitpick, not a big deal it just takes a little extra time to repair it with my phone when I want to use it with my phone and vice versa with my tablet. Other than those two things these headphones are worth the price and pickup.

Bob on and well worth the money. Highs, mids and lows present with good clarity and no bass flutter that Ive noticed. The swipe features are a bit awkward at first but ok in general. Top notch noise cancelling. Cupping the right ear cup to allow ambient sound in is great when in a shop or for a quick chat on the street. Unless you need something really high end for work or whatever the casual user might not notice the difference to the next big step up. Basically, Beatsgrim. Thesetidy

The build quality and sound quality of the headphones is excellent and the noise cancelling works well. My son uses these for his studies and finds them very comfortable for extended listening. The only downside was the JL customer service which was unusually poor. I purchased the headphones online but was unable to use the discount code that the Daily Telegraph had published. When I contacted customer service I was advised that the code should not have been published as it was intended for a small select group of customers, who would have been contacted directly by email. It was a small discount so I would have thought a goodwill payment would have been in order.

To give some background I am a young adult living in Minnesota that commutes to and from work Monday Friday. I had been doing this commute with a pair of bluetooth intheear headphones that I also use to workout. While they have good sound, they werent doing a great job of blocking out the sound of other commuters as well as the rumbling of the bus. Not to mention intheear can get annoying after a while.I decided that I would get a nice pair of bluetooth overtheear headphones with noise canceling capabilities. I did some research and these came highly recommend for their noisecanceling abilities and sound. Luckily I then found them on sale for Black Friday. While they are definitely a more expensive pair of headphones, so far they have been worth every penny for the following reasons. I can wear them over a winter hat and the sound quality is still great. The battery life is great and they charge very quickly. The sound quality is exceptional, especially for bluetooth. Each unique sound comes in clearly and there isnt an overpowering bass. Plus you can also adjust the sound to your liking. I should mention I also listen to podcasts and those come in clearly too. They look sleek They are comfortable and fit snugly around my ears. They are vegan this probably doesnt matter to most but it does to me The bluetooth range is ridiculously good. So good that I often forget that I have left my phone in a completely different part of my house. Finally, my favorite and most unexpected part is they have a function that will alter the levels of noisecancellation based on your movement. This means when I am walking to the bus the noisecancellation is lowered so I can hear enough traffic to not get hit. Once I get on the bus they recognize that I am commuting and turn the noisecancellation up to block out unwanted sounds. It is perfect.I cannot speak for other top end overtheear bluetooth headphones with noisecancellation but if that is what you are looking for you will not be disappointed with these.

By far one of the best overall overtheear noise cancelling headsets. There are multiple settings for ambient noise allows a person wearing the headset to tune out noises such as cars, trains, and busses while walking , but it picks up on conversations and true noise cancelling. I wear these at night next to a white noise machine and I feel like Im in my own little world. Sound quality is amazing for getting true deep bass sounds and the app has multiple settings for sound settings such being in a club, concert hall, arena, and outdoor stage further customizing your music experience. It also supports 360 Reality Audio, but you need a subscription to a premium music streaming service such as Tidal or Nugs. I have been using them nonstop to work from home, and the builtin Alexa support is amazing. The audio for answering calls is amazing and I like that the controls are touch sensitive on the side of the headset. The only reason for not receiving the fifth star is the app support for the headphones. The app is great for initial setup, but it can only be used when your headphones are on and Bluetooth connected. Updates also take quite a while to apply to your headset. These headphones are a must have item when they are on sale.

I loved these headphones so much… until about 14 months of ownership when they stopped working. They charge, they work if connected directly, but do not turn on at all. So now they are no longer noise cancelling or wireless. Ive done hard reset as advised on troubleshooting forums and all. For the price you pay, I expected better quality from this Sony product. Im hoping to get warranty support soon. In meantime… I had to leave this unfortunate review of 1 star since I only got a little more than a year out of these before this major issue.

I have bought noise cancelling headphones before usually cheap and have mostly been satisfied. My main need is for long haul flights. Sony make a range of headphones that actively cancel noise and has a good reputation, although the last set of cheap sony headphones did not cancel noise at all. I spent a long time deciding on what to buy but after reading a review in choice magazine decided on these XM3 rather than the latest model XM4. I was very pleased with my choice and would highly recommend them for anyone requiring good quality noise cancelling. The software allows a lot of adjustment and takes time to set up and learn how to use but it is worth it.

So this product has been on the market for a while, and Ive been waiting for the price to drop to buy it. After two weeks of use, there is not much negative things I can say about it. I will however compare it to my SkullCandy Wireless Crusher, which Ive had for 2 years already. The wireless crusher is a lot cheaper and has a heavier punchier base for sure, but overall sound is better in the Sony. The Sony has a complicated name, and Wireless Crusher has a …well crushing name. The Crusher has 40 hours battery which after a full charge will certainly feel like it lasts FOREVER. The Sony has a 30 hours battery, and doesnt feel the same. I only use it with Noise Cancelling On, so I think it consumes more battery. I havent tested how long it really goes, but Im sure it is in the given range, or a bit less. The Sony has definitely a better comfortable fit, and is more suited for extended use. The Noise Cancelling is not what I expected it to be, and thats only because I expected it to cancel ALL noises. Im autistic, so I dont like ambient noises at all, and its actually the main reason I bought this headphone. However, its the headphone with the best industry leading noise cancelling feature. The wireless crusher can be connected to multiple devices simultaneously, but the Sony does not support the feature. It can be paired with multiple devices, but can only be connected to one at the time. This is the only HUGE disappointment of this headphone. If you want this feature, you should upgrade to the 1000XM4. Also, unlike the Crusher, the XM3 does not have any physical buttons. You control the devices which touches and sometimes it doesnt get the touches…

Just recently picked up these new Sonys for an upcoming trip to Europe and to replace my Bose QC35s that I purchased from Best Buy in 2016. Wow . . . the sound is much better than my QC 35 and I loved that headphone. The reason I did not go with the QC 35II was because my current Bose headphones have developed this issue where they keep turning on by themselves, thus draining the battery. Back in 2016, I had looked at the 1st gen WH1000XM, but didnt like the design much, nor the sound signature. Sony has obviously improved on the design, the sound is a lot better than I remember, and the noise cancelling also appears to be much better. Theyll get the real test on my upcoming trip, but so far theyre beating the Bose QC 35 handsdown. What Im liking most of all is the Sony sound signature good base, but not too basey great mids and highs great vocals. Im not an audiophile, but all the reviews on how these sound better compared to the Bose are spot on Im very satisfied . . . only wish I had bought them a couple of weeks earlier when they were on sale for 50 bucks less

Needed a pair of Bluetooth cans to watch TV without bothering my wife. Didnt think I needed noise canceling but liked the sound quality reviews on the Sonys so I popped for a new pair instead of refurbed. What a pleasant surprise The professional reviews are spot on. Easy set up, lots of customizable options with the app, sound is awesome for my old ears, and Ive come to love the noise canceling. I use them outdoors working in the yard, mowing, trimming, etc., and barely hear the equipment. Music comes through loud and clear. Reviewers say the new M4s sound even better but Im thrilled with the M3s. I also have the Sony noise cancelling buds but they now rarely get used….and I like them, just not nearly as much.

Overall, this is a high quality product offering from Sony and a worthy competitor to a Bose QC. Sadly I have decided to return the product for reasons I will describe below, but the devices quality and performance key factors werent the issue.First, the positives NoisecancellingThis is top of its class, absolutely wonderful. I tried to switch from Bose QC 35 IIs to this, and the difference in noise reduction is absolutely detectable and almost uncanny. It seems to be much better at filtering lower sounds as well, so while dull rumbles with the QC35 will be quieter, with this Sony they are practically gonezo.

These headphones are lovely, the sound quality is beautiful, bass voices in choirs show through alongside bass riffs in house tunes I hadnt spotted before, they do justice to Billy Eilishs weird soundscapes.Unlike some models they sound good with no noise cancelling on.The noise cancelling is good enough to use with no tunes playing, its so peaceful.I use them for work in a workshop. They provide ear protection that feels as good as the level 1 ear protectors I have. They overload on some noises but most of the time take loud machinery in their stride.I have only niggly little criticisms you have to press the NC cancelling button twice as it goes past a setting where it amplifies ambient sound and theres a delay each time you cant just double tap. The grip on the head is not for active use they slip forward if you do activities looking down. Theres software for setting the NC that seems no worth the hassle.Better than Bose all in though

Ive been using these for a couple of weeks, and as someone who listens to music every day for several hours a day, the only thing that had been stopping me getting these headphones was the matter of money student life anyway, ive been saving recently and decided to splash on them and, my god im glad I did. These headphones are honestly incredible. Theyre so comfortable, the sound is transcendent, as well as super customisable within the handy app, which ive had no issues with yet, which is rare for such apps. With the battery life being so incredible, i wear them hours every day and i have honestly no complaints. The one thing I would say is that after several hours my ears can get a little hot but, thats honestly me scraping the barrel for a bad thing to say. If you want to be blown into another dimension everytime you listen to something BUY THESE HEADPHONES I also made use of Richer Sounds price beat to get an excellent price, big love to RS

I wanted to upgrade my current wireless headset to a one with noise cancellation capabilites for a noisy office area. After many hours of research, I decided upon the Sony WH1000XM3 as it compared neck and neck to the equivalent Bose headset, and was on sale since the XM4 model was about to drop. I am pleasantly surprised by the sleek body and beautiful sound quality the mic and headphones provide. There were some issues connecting via Bluetooth to my work laptop, but that was resolved after a software update. One additional downside is that if you arent used to total noise cancellation, it will be a learning curve when trying to hear yourself speak during meetings. I suggest displacing one earphone until you get used to the muffled sound of your own voice. Either than that, it is a great pieceAs a side note Watch out for prices on the XM3 model since it should be cheaper than the newer XM4. Both have been observed at the same price point.

The WH1000xm3 Bluetooth headphones are AMAZING. The headphones are wonderful, loud and have ear throbbing bass. I am a person to really enjoy ear throbbing bass so I play my music loud with noise canceling on. The Sony headphones have lasted me 4yr. with no problems. The headphones also have an ambient sound feature that you can switch to or if you dont want to switch you can hold the right ear muff and get ambient sound until you let go. The music or YouTube video can also be controlled by the right ear muff. they also have an optimizer feature. the case it comes with is very sturdy I have dropped it a few time and my headphones were not effected. Only problem is the charging cord length. Just buy a longer one.

I purchased these as a gift for my partner. Light, comfortable, and generally premium presentation.Sound quality is great compared to professional headphones, and some cool tweaks available via the app.Battery life will last for the longest journeys or listening sessions and charges fast when you need them to.Folds up and fits nicely into their case, which has a thoughtful array of connections.Build quality is good. Maybe not as luxury as some other brands, but good.Only niggles are only pairs with one device at a time. MK4 versions rumoured to fix this.Colours are a bit safe. Would like to see some other combinations, but overall very pleased and generally highly praised elsewhere. Will buy some for myself eventually.

Pretty much does what its supposed to do, my only complaint is that it switches between noise cancelling and ambient settings on its own a lot if your connection isnt great you can fix this with adjustments to your settings. Battery life is crazy good, noise cancellation is good enough to tune out 4 dogs and childs tantrum. Great for college students stuck at home for quarantine. If youre gonna work out with these, just be careful not to get too much sweat in them theyre not sweatwater resistant, I havent had any problems yet though. The USBC cable to charge the headphones is short as heck so just fyi you might want to buy a longer cable.

These headphones are amazing. Ive used these for over 1 year now. I use them on a daily basis in the IT field. They are very comfortable and provide excellent noise canceling. This feature really helps me focus on my work. In addition, I have super sensitive ears, so it helps me not get agitated due to noise. The battery lasts several days before I need to charge and it doesnt take long to fully charge 1.5 hrs.I would have given these a 5 star rating, hoever, the mic is muffled to the person hearing you either on a Webex or smart phone. I started using my laptop microphone with my headphones so compensate.Overall, I love these headphones. I wish the mic was not muffled, then they would be a gem.

The Sony WH1000XM3s are one of the best wireless noise cancelling overtheear headphones. Theyre very comfortable and light on your head. Ive worn a pair of headphones before where theyd tightly squeeze your head and it was so uncomfortable. The XM3s are a nice change as I have always wanted a good pair of headphones. They sound good, good bass out of the box and mids and highs sound good. Battery life is also great. 30 hours with NC on, and I think it takes 3.5 hours to fully charge the headphones. USB TypeC is also greatly appreciated Touch sensor or the touch controls work good too. Overall a steal at 199.99

Excellent for the price. Quite comfortable, but not perfect the headphones are a tad tight on the head, so I do dont wear them for too long. The firmware in them is quite good. Bluetooth pairing is easy. The noise cancelling is superb.Works a treat for phone calls when paired with mobile phones. These were seconds but there was absolutely nothing wrong with them, not even a scratch. What I really like about them is the touch sensing ie volume control, disabling noise cancelling, hanging up a phone call etc… excellent. Am I happy with the purchase Overall…YES

Im taking a star off because it just does not want to save the EQ settings you set using the Sony Headphones Connect app which I fully recommend downloading and using for these because you can change a lot of settings which supposedly are meant to be saved on the headphones. However, the sound quality and bass of these headphones is still extremely good. It also has very good noise cancellation, but I have to stress that the sound quality really, really rivals and beats any other headphones Ive tried. Its pretty heavy though, not as lightweight as I would like, but for the sound quality its worth having it on your head. Also makes your ears quite hot but yet again, sound quality The bass shines through.

I bought these headphones about a year ago and I can still say that I am thoroughly impressed.I currently do a four hour round trip commute to work and wanted something noise cancelling, high quality and comfortable. These are all three.I use these every day to listen music and watch programmes, both on my commute and at work. When travelling I can set the headphones to full noise cancelling and drown out everything around me. When I am in work, I can let a little bit of ambient noise through just in case a colleague is trying to get my attention.I wear these headphones for a minimum of two hours a day, and maximum fivesix. The only discomfort I have experienced where the band sits across my head, but this is after five or six hours of use.The sound quality is brilliant. I really enjoy music and one of the key selling points for me was how wellbalanced the sound is. There is also plenty of customisation available. If you are after brighter tones, or feel the need to up the bass, all of this can be controlled in the app.Lastly, the battery life is very good. I often forget that they will actually need charging as I do it so infrequently. These regularly last me two weeks of consistent use. My only complaint here is that there is no warning when the battery is running out, they just power off. It would be useful to have a 10 warning so you know they need to charge.Overall, brilliant. I would strongly recommend.

Although an older model the MX3 still provides excellent sound quality and ANC functions. The app is working fine for me on my Samsung Note 9 and I like the motion controls vs fumbling for tiny buttons on my BO H4 headset. I bought these on sale and am pleased with this purchase. They are reasonably comfortable but I have a problem with most overear headphones because of my rather small face, the cans tend to make my jaws ache after awhile. Not noticing any side effects from the ANC pressure but listening to some 3d music for extended periods can make me a little light headed.Ive tried the Bose QC II and found the Sonys more comfortable for longer periods of time, but thats relative. The MX3 still has the 5 codecs which seem missing except for LDAC in the newer model. Another reason to get the MX3.

Being accustomed to buyIng 5 pairs of noise canceling headphone a year In the 4060, I was very hesitant of the price tag of these bad boys. After my first flight with these, I was so incredibly happy I took the plunge.First, I sat sat down in my seat put them on and was happy as a clam The Noise Canceling was the real deal. Once the plane reached altitude, I calibrated the Sony WH1000XM3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Over theEar Headphones with Google Assistant Black via the app. At that point I truly had no idea I was on an airplane When the flight attendant came through for drink serve, I was able to cup the right headphone and draw in ambient sound. At that point, I could hear her so well it was like I didnt have overtheear headphones on at all. Super comfortable and an ABSOLUTE GAME CHANGERWOULD RECOMMEND TIME AND TIME AGIAN. JUST WISH I WOULD HAVE FOUND THEM ON SALES BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO.

There have been very few occasions where my expectations are dramatically exceeded when trying out a new piece of tech, particularly in the audio space. I consider myself an entry level audiophile with a 2,000 home audiotheater speaker setup, various high end wifi speakers throughout the home, but for some reason I have never brought myself to drop 300 on a pair of headphones. I finally broke down and purchased these when I realized I would be traveling weekly for work and ultimately made the decision to purchase these over the Bose equivalents after extensive internet research.I have never been more floored by an audio experience than the first time I powered these on shortly after boarding a flight. After a few seconds when the phone bluetooth connects and the active noise cancelling activates, you are shrouded by an almost scary level of silence. 99 of the rustling around as people put bags in the overhead and get to their seats and 100 of the constant hum of the plane vaporized and you are left with absolutely crisp and clear audio. I have recommended these to ALL of my friends and family.Battery life EXCELLENT i can go over a week before having to chargeSound quality WHOALooks sleek and simpleNoise cancelling what noise

Amazing battery, good sound and fantastic noise cancellation. I have an autism spectrum disorder, and these headphones help me with sound sensitivity. Also ideal for anyone who uses public transit planes, trains, and automobiles buses. Pretty high tech setup in the app. Great support even though this is an older model. The new XM4s are now some of the best headphones for anyone with noise sensitivity or misophonia. Im happy with these I have used these with thousands of hours of music, videos and games. Im no audiophile but thats not why I purchased these headphones. Nevertheless, youll want to turn down the bass with the companion app or in your music players equalizer settings not both.Best. Purchase. Ever.

I purchased my headphones a couple of weeks ago now and I must say the most impressive aspect of the headphones is that I am able to hear layers of songs that I would never have noticed. You are able to hear every little part clearly and can really get a feel for what makes up the depths of a song. Likewise, the bass can be very deep for music which features it, so it allows you to really feel the music youre listening to. In terms of noise cancelling, the headphones are effective in cancelling out continuous low frequency sounds like the rumble of a car or sound of a fan. However, the headphones are less effective in cancelling out variable higher pitch noises such as people speaking. It is my understanding that active noise cancelling in all headphones is only effective for lower pitch noises and therefore I wouldnt consider it a let down. Finally, the headphones are very comfortable and have been built to a high standard with a sleek case included. As such, I would recommend these headphones for their incredible sound quality, noise cancelling capabilities, appropriate price tag, overall comfort and sleek build quality.

Great ANC and fantastic sound for me who loves outdoor concerts. The EQ in the app lets you adjust the sound well and the different styles like club, arena, concert hall and outdoor stage is superb. Some issues with the touch pad and how to hold my hand over it to let sound in, but I think this is mainly because Im new to it and not used to over ear headphones. Only thing I can complain about is that they feel a bit slippery It feels like they are about to fall off my head from time to time when bending over to unlock my bike or riding it. Slight issues when moving my head quickly while sitting still but nothing that really bothers you that much. This issues might be because of my head being rather small, I got the headband set almost to the minimum. No issues with the pressing against my head, rather the opposite. All and all Im very happy with them and for tracking and working at my desk sketching and doing work on my laptop they seem to be all that I want. Would definitely recommend them

I wanted some bluetooth cans to use on a new device without a stereo jack, and after some debating between the Sennheiser and Sony, got these. Note that these were replacing wired Sennheiser Momentum overear more like onear which I mostly loved for the nuance and clarity. First off, the Sonys are much more comfortable than the old Sennheisers which dont cover the ear but sit on it and cause pressure pain and heat after a while. That was the main reason I decided to try the Sony this time, and I was not disappointed the Sonys are super comfy. However, the sound quality wasnt what I was expecting my first complaint is that the bass is not as distinct as I am used to and kind of muddles together. The highs arent as crisp. I loved the clarity of my wired Momentums, and these simply dont compare soundwise. That said, I didnt try the bluetooth Sennheisers so I cant say if that version sounds better than the Sony, or even as good as the wired Momentums. I may try to borrow some and see. Mildly disappointed, but these will suffice for loud airplane rides which was the main use case. For actual listening, I guess Ill get the USB stereo jack adapter and plug in my old Senns.

I bought these to replace an aging set of Sennheiser headphones I had. I only considered these because of a friends recommendation. However, after reading reviews and seeing these topped out on several lists of best headphones of 2019, I decided to give them a shot. I am not disappointed.Noise canceling is on point. Sound quality is amazing. Crystal clear, well balanced, and sharp. Bluetooth is great. No dropped connections or crackling. Battery life is good. You should really get a day or twos listening even with noise cancellation turned on. Sonys software is good Im not sure why it has such a poor rating on the App Store. My only complaint is the adaptive noise cancellation, which adjusts automatically based on what youre doing, pauses your music and chimes for like .5 seconds to let you know its changed. I wish it wouldnt. There might be a setting to change that, but I havent found it yet. I suppose one could turn the feature off, but itsa feature and I want to use it. I wish it would just adjust without chiming to let me know.Im not an audiophile, so I couldnt even begin to rate the technical details of these headphones. That being said, I listen to music all day, every day, at my job, so the quality of my listening experience is important and Id be the first to call out any quirks. After two solid days of listening with the M3s I could not be happier.I know some people are waiting on the M4s, but who knows when theyre coming out. I would suggest you pull the trigger on these instead. You wont be disappointed. Some things to note The noise cancellation is fantastic. I have only my old Sennheiser headphones to compare to. But, these are leaps ahead of those. The noise cancellation doesnt struggle to adjust to sudden changes. I have NOT tried these with a wired connection. I recently switched to iPhone from Android, so no headphone jack to try them with. I have read reports that theres some issues connecting to PCs, laptops, etc. I have not tried that yet. I use a wired connection for gaming. Do your own research or make sure of the return policy if thats what youre buying these for.

As Noise cancelling headphones these are awesome.Tried these headphones in two environments, first our open plan hanger of an office, pure peace took out the fans but also removed the background chatter, here they also worked well as headphones and a mic for a call from the phone. The second which they were bought for, the rear of an Airbus A320. Put them on post the safety brief started some Meat Loaf, via the supplied cable from my phone, close eyes relax, they were so good that I while as I was lost in the music, I missed the entire remainder of the taxi and take off run. The BA pilot was however very smooth. Later in the flight I used them to listen to a film played on my phone, heard every word, with only the tiniest amount of background drone in the dialog pauses. Now to the down side, long term comfort, unless you seat the just right on your head they can get to feel heavy on the top of your head after a while, and due to the required enclosing nature of the head phones you ears can get rather warm. Hence the 4s.Final down side the application on the phone only works with Bluetooth connections, understandable, but on a plane, you have to use the wire phone in flight mode.Summary, well worth the cost, as flights just float past now.

The noisecancelling on these headphones is really great, as everyone says. The controls are nice, and the overlyeager American womans voice that chimes in when you press a button is not as annoying as I thought it would become. What lets these headphones down is the audio the sound quality is really surprisingly poor, almost certainly the worst of any set of headphones that I didnt get free with something. The bass and lowmidtones are best described as muddy. However, if you run the headphones through some kind of equaliser and greatly boost the treble it helps them a lot, to the point where you wonder why Sony dont do this in software. Sonys app allows you to do this but it drops the bluetooth quality to its lowest level although Im not sure I notice any difference. In terms of comfort, the pads inside the cups are quite shallow and rest on my ears which, while not immediately unpleasant, adds to a general sense of pressure and heat buildup that I understand is quite common with noisecancelling headphones. After a couple of hours of wear they can become slightly uncomfortable, although never unbearably so. Take them off and youll wonder how you can work with the cacaphony that has surrounded you since the day you were born and which youve never noticed until now. Now I cant work with them, nor without them these headphones have ruined my life, basically. 4 stars.

Excellent noise cancelling. Great sound quality. Easily links with my Sony XBR 75 TV. Havent had one issue with them. Use them at night so I dont bother my GF when Im watching TV or listening to music. Sometimes use them to listen to Spotify or other services when vacuuming etc. The noise cancelling blocks out the vacuum without sacrificing sound quality. Can control certain features of the TV through a light touch. Highly recommend.

Ive seen a ton of reviews that say these are amazing, better than Bose, etc. I bought them when they were still 350 and though it was a decent deal being 50 cheaper than the Bose 700. Now theyre on Black Friday sale for 70 less, which is an even better deal, so long as they work.Heres the problem I had When I first put them on and just wanted to hear how silent they made my room with the air conditioning running, they sounded great. But a few hours of use later, they developed a strange very soft, but noticeable white noise. It seemed to me like the noise cancelling was actually introducing too much phased sound which created the white noise. I exchanged the original pair I bought for another pair. The second pair had the same white noise, so I thought, maybe this is just how these works. When listening to music, its not noticeable, but it is clearly there when not listening to anything. I figured I could live with it, but then the right ear cup started producing really jarring popping noises while on the train and sometimes at work. The whole point of these was to reduce distraction while working or to block out noise on trains and airplanes. But the combination of white noise and the incessant popping was too much. I returned these again, and bought the Bose 700.I can say with certainty that the white noise is a Sony only feature bug, as the Bose do not make the same sound when using only the noise cancelling. In my experience with both headsets, the Bose are superior in noise cancelling and build quality.

I have had a pair of Sol Republic wired headphones for several years, but as my hearing loss has become worse, so my enjoyment of music has declined. Mostly frequency related problems, too much bass and no clarity with higher frequencies. For whatever reason I fancied Noise Cancelling. I tested these Sony phones and also another leading brand, 4 letters, begins with B. Bearing in mind that I wear hearing aids while wearing the phones, I found that the Sony overall seemed more comfortable, the sound seemed more natural, the Noise cancelling was excellent. Not as stylish as the B phones though.I found the Sony easy to charge and get into use. Some difficulty initially with the Right hand earpiece controls, took me a week to master. They connect via Bluetooth with my Walkman, and my Yamaha soundbar. Some reviews comment negatively on this facility, but so far, I have been lucky in that connection is rapid. No wires, its great to hear my music again. As always, RS Middlesbrough did a sterling job, and also arranged delivery of the Sony Walkman, package had a huge cost saving. My only moan would be about RS not offering an extended warranty on portables. John Lewis include 2 years, PC WorldCurrys offer 5 years. Richer Sounds need to review this policy.

The sound quality is quite good, the adaptive sound system is not the greatest as it tends to lag a little so it will change if an announcement on a train is put out, but youll miss the first part of it and then it will take a while to go back to the previous setting. I found its easier just to not use it. I got brought these basically because I couldnt replacement the ear cushions on my Parrott Zik 3, Ive found that the touch controls are nowhere near as responsive as the controls on my Zik 3 and feel a bit sticky when trying to use them. Its also frustrating that you cant connect them to a computer using the USB cable that comes with them Im not sure what their thought process was with regards to this. Also the microphone on them tends to drop out when using it with a laptop audio is fine, its just the microphone that drops out after about 10mins of use.

I absolutely love these headphones. I dont know if I will ever go back to anything lesser than this pair. First off Im an overtheear kind of person, and I appreciate that Sony has really picked up their game to give you comfort and sound quality all in the same headphones. The noise canceling feature along with the long battery life are features I greatly appreciate too. These headphones are great for traveling. I really didnt know how much I appreciated them until after my headphones with a little music muted out a very upset toddler a couple of rows behind me on a 12hour flight from Germany to San Francisco. It made my trip so much more enjoyable. His headphones come with the pretty big price tag, but you really are paying for quality.

After reading many reviews and agonizing over the choices I finally settled on these Sony headphones and made the plunge. It was my first purchase of a wireless headphone set and I have owned them now for about two weeks. The sound quality is exceptional, even in comparison to other headphones in the same class e.g. Bose Quiet Comfort. The noisecancelling feature is intelligent, adjusting dynamically to ambient sound to effectively block nearly all unwanted noise. Sony went a step further by including a tool that detects and adjusts for the ambient pressure, creating a more comfortable wearing experience. And I cant say enough about the builtin onear touchpad control. It is an intuitive link to the bluetoothenabled player in my case an iPhone 10XR making it simple to start, stop, move a song forward or backward, or interrupt the music to take a phone call. The only complaint I have is that out of the box the only way the headphones can be charged is by using the ridiculously short 6 inch long USB standard to USBC dongle. I have figured out how to cope but it would be an improvement to the package if Sony included a 4 or 5 foot long charger cable. While the price was a little bit of a challenge it was still 13 less than the comparable Bose Quiet Comfort headphones. And what you get is well worth it.Allinall I am very happy with it, and Best Buy made the purchase much easier by offering me the sale price, even though the sale itself was still a few days away. I highly recommend these.

When I purchased these headphones, I was contemplating the new Bose 700 headphones. The 50 savings over the Bose, as well as the numerous reviews I read about the Sony 1000XM3s was what swayed me.What I like about these headphones Amazing battery life. Incredible sound. Sony app to customize sound preferences. What I dont like My ears get very warm when wearing them, but thats to be expected from overtheear headphones. The microphones could be better. People on the other end of the line cant hear me well when I use the headphones to converse, but I bought these primarily for listening and for noise cancellation, not for talking on the phone. Wish they were capable of connecting to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. I hear that is possible with the new Bose 700s.Overall, I am very pleased with the headphones. The things I mentioned are not deal breakers, just minor inconveniencesannoyances.

I originally bought these headphones because Im a college student and Im always studying at coffee shops. As much as I love going to coffee shops its always busy and loud. I wanted to purchase some noisecancelling headphones and I came across the Sony WH100XM3. I absolutely love these headphones. However, I decided to return it because of the price as well as the lack of comfort. I have small ears and after a while, my ears started ringing which caused me a good amount of ear pain. I noticed I had this issue whenever the noisecancelling function was on. However, if youre someone who goes to loud places such as coffee shops or take the subwaybus and would want to minimize outside sound I would highly recommend this product. The noisecancelling on this is amazing. It definitely feels like youre in a different place .I like how you can turn onoff noise cancelling which gives you full control of your surroundings. Overall, I hope Sony comes out with a midrange headphone that offers around the same amount of functions as the WH1000XM3.

I purchased the WH1000XM3 headphones on the basis of glowing reviews. My main priority was noise cancellation. However, the app only allows varying levels of ambient sound and a simple onoff for noise cancellation. It is not possible to directly alter the amount of noise cancellation while eliminating ambient noise.I suffer from misophonia so noise cancelling is of paramount importance to block trigger sounds and, sadly, found the noise cancellation roughly on par with my Bose QC35II headphones, i.e. barely able to noticeably reduce the volume of a conversation from 10 feet away, let alone the sound of a family member sneezing. The sound is rather like a closed in version of the HD800 by Sennheiser full range but produces a harsh, almost strident treble which is uncomfortable after 15 minutes. Any sibilance is reproduced triumphantly by these obnoxious headphones. Perhaps Im being harsh, but if youre a misophonia sufferer youre better off with disposable earplugs or custom made silicone eartips for your earphones. As Ive tried these headphones I probably wont be allowed to return them so Im going to take a nasty hit on eBay.

Doesnt matter even if you have the highest tech in your headphones, if its not comfortable on the ears and you cannot stand having it for a long time, you lose. After a while having them on my ears start getting warm and sweating and I cant stand them anymore. If you are laying on the bed also you cannot turn to sides even a bit as they are huge. The sound is fine IF, and I repeat, IF you play with equalizer and set it for your taste. Its a bit weird though and I was surprised when I put on the headphones for the first time. Before purchasing this item I did some research and as this item was Number.1 in many lists I had high expectations. The thing I liked about them the most was the quality of the built materials. Just touching it you can see and feel the quality. The design also looks good and neat. The Noise cancelling as you can see in many reviews is also good. The app has many options to optimize it to your liking, even a part to take a picture of your ears for whatever reason.

I am writing this review as a lifetime Bose fanboy which was prob the toughest sell for me on this product.Lets talk about the Sony This is such a solid headphone that by far exceeds the expectations of its price point. After using it for a week, coming from Bose Q25 I bought a few years ago I knew how outstanding that was at the time I had serious doubts the NEW Bose 700 would be the bees knees compared to this Sony 1000 boy was I wrong.ProsSound, Sound, Loud Sound, Tight Bass, Deep Bass, Slight Vibrations from Bass on my ears, Amazing EQ in App really changes platforms Not Gimmicky , Comfort, Battery Life usb C charging. Just overall Sound quality is beyond what your ears deserve this price point.. Sony delivered us a sub 500 product for 300 HomeRUNConsHurdling over that Sony name Vs Bose ,Comparing Side by Side to Bose 700 Bose are by far more comfortable, I forgot they were on my head very often Sony Often pushes against top of head for lock on where Bose uses earcuffsSound 1010Bass 910 I still dream of the day of more…Build 910 Bose is easily 1110 in comparisionBattery 1010 20ish hrs LongTimeStyle 910 Its very handsome wgold trim Black. I gave in to all good reviews about these headphones against the Beats studio 3, but it didnt work for me.They are excellent and very stylish headphones, and Sonys sound quality is on the top of music reproduction game. This model sounds better than Beats Studio 3 as well, and looks more classy. They are also lighter and dont clamp your ears to the point that you want to take them off. However, there are some aspects I found not very suitable for me when wearing the headphones I was always hearing some kind of windy sound although it wasnt coming from the outside. when talking to somebody on the phone my own voice was echoing and it was very distracting and weird. the option to let the ambience noise in is incomprehensible to me. Why would you want it The whole point of wearing noise cancelling headphones is to hear as less as possible from the outside. these headphones pick up the voices from the outside really well, even when you choose the noise cancelling mode. They cancel other noises, but the voices of people talking around you and the announcements on the train penetrate your ears no matter what. the touch controls are great, on the one hand, but, on the other hand, accidental touches or touches in a slightly wrong direction lead to a wrong response. The physical buttons are a bit more reliable.Once again, it is a matter of a personal comfort, and this pair of Sonys is great, but for such a considerable amount of money, I want a 100 fit.

Bought the WH1000XM3 brand new roughly 3months ago. They functioned fine at first, until I noticed a distinct static, slight crackling noise from the right ear cup randomly occurring whenever ANC was activated the distinct noise would immediately stop after deactivating ANC there are numerous reports online about other people experiencing similar issues. After a couple of months the headphone ceased being able to be recharged and gave an led error indicator.I subsequently sent the headphones back for warranty repair only to discover that Sony assessed the headphones as having liquid damagecorrosion inside. Not sure how that happened since I had only ever used it indoors and never dropped it into water. Consequently, despite it being roughly 3months old, Sony will not replace or cover it under warranty.Just a word of caution to people planning to purchase these headphones.

I am blown away by these headphones. I really wanted to give these headphones a 5 star review. The Pros Beautiful design, super comfortable. Sound is amazing. These are an upgrade from my Bose Quiet comfort 15s, which were not bad at all. The sound is amazing with these Sonys 1000xm3s. And when i say amazing, I am truly impressed. Sony has this feature called 360 Reality Audio. My goodness, I have never experienced nor heard anything that compares to this feature. see cons section also. Youd have to hear it to understand what i am trying to explain. The 360 Reality feature takes these headphones and sound to a whole other level. The noise cancellation feature works quite well. Ambient sound with voice focus is good too. Im testing it out as I write this. The Sony app adds to the experience. You can do all sorts of tailoring to your sound and music with the app. Using the app was a little tough at first, but after playing with the app for a few minutes, its self explanatory. The headphones them selves are easy enough to use after a couple rounds of use. They have some cool features on the headphones themselves prove useful if you dont want to keep picking up the phone to use volume, skip a track, stop the music. Even a cool feature where you can put the palm of your hand on the right ear cup when while listen to music and the headphones will quiet the music and you can hear what is going on around you clear as day. That is a pretty awesome feature. You dont have to remove the headphones. The Cons There arent many cons with the Sony 1000XM3s that I can think of at the moment. One thing in particular was the 360 Reality Audio feature. It seems you can only use it with 1 of 3 apps downloaded subscription required for each app. Deezer, Nugs.net, or TIDAL. for the price of these headphones, I should not have to get a 19.99 subscription to ANOTHER music service that does the same thing as Aprime, Sp0ttfy and Heart Rd0. So, if you dont have a subscription to one of the three listed above Deez, Nugs, or TDL, then it appears you cant use the 360 Reality Audio feature. That is a kick in stomach. I still think the headphones are top notch for audiophiles like myself. The music still sounds like candy to my ears, just not liquid candy like it did when sampling the 360 Reality feature. I will tell you, when the 360 Reality feature kicked on during sampling out the box, i felt my ear hair tickle, and I didnt even know i had ear hair. This may not be a con just yet, but along with comfort, I can see the ear pads and head band wearing out eventually based on the experience with the material. Im not sure what else Sony could use to make the ear pads and head band comfortable and durable though. Dont get me wrong, the headphones are super comfortable. I plan to get one of those Head band protectors like i had with my Bose headphones. i saw certain websites sell ear pad replacements, so I am sure after a good amount of use, I will have to get those as well.Bottom Line These headphones are amazing. Id recommend them to anybody. Especially if you can get them on sale for under 300. They are worth every penny. I am planning on getting another pair for a special friend soon.

Ordered it during the oneday sale, and Best Buy sent me a box that had been opened, with the instructions out of the plastic wrap, and little hairs inside the ear cups. Absolutely disgusting and absolutely unacceptable for an item this expensive. I explicitly bought it from Best Buy instead of Amazon because I thought Best Buy would be a more reputable seller. Not the case. Monumentally disappointed. Now the headphones are sold out, and Best Buy wants me to go to the post office during COVID and return them. I shipped these to my house for the exact reason of avoiding going anywhere during this pandemic. Thanks a lot Best Buy.

I have now had two sets of these headphones and initially they were both great. They were comfortable, the sound quality was excellent and the ANC really worked a treat. However both sets of headphones developed the same fault where a rustling wind noise is heard in the left or right ear cup when ANC is active. This noise is evident in between breaks in music and can sometimes be heard above music as well. This fault appeared after a few months with the first pair and a few weeks with the second. Unfortunately, because of this recurring fault, I can no longer recommend these headphones. I will be seeking a refund and looking to try another brand.Hugely disappointed with Sony.

Purchased this after doing a lot of research, but found some flaws after using it for a few times. Sound quality and noise cancellation are great I use it to play League of Legends with my friends with voice comm over discord. But for some reason, I always have to change my sound setting to something else and switch it back to headphone to enable the sound in the game every time we start a new game. Its kinda annoying, but I am glad I at least found a way to make it work. Battery life is great but it can be a little tight for the ears. My Sennheiser headphone is more comfortable for long usage.

I was looking for some comfortable headphones, that I could use while travelling and participating in internet conference calls. With these requirements in mind, I went to John Lewis Cheltenham store to checkout various headphone options, including Sonys WH1000XM3. To be honest, I didnt get the best John Lewis experience. Even though I told the sales assistant that I wanted to use them for conference calls, he didnt want me to pair my mobile with the headphones insisting that I needed Sonys app, to get them to work. Not in a mood to argue this point, and considering Which magazine, among others, made these headphones a best buy, I decided, against my better judgement, to accept his offer to just listen to music stored on his mobile. Happy with the sound, I purchased them and took them home.Over the next two weeks, I found them very comfortable to wear, and I had no complaints about the sound. I did find that when I put them on, the noisecancelling put me offbalance for a couple of seconds, but that could be just me I suffer from tinnitus and maybe not a problem for anyone else. I also felt the touch controls could be better adjusting the sound was a bit of a hit or miss affair. However, during conference calls, other callers complained that I sounded muffled, like I was speaking with a blanket over my head. As soon as I switched back to my old headphones, the issue went away. I tried them with various devices mobile, tablet and portable PC, all with the same problem. After two weeks, I had had enough of the voice quality complaints and returned them to John Lewis. All this hassle could have been averted if the sales assistant had allowed me to pair them to my mobile you dont need the Sony App to make them work. A quick call would have then identified the voice quality issue, and I would not have proceeded any further.

I was looking forward to buy this cordless headphone for a while and I am happy to have it now. Noise cancelling function works really good. It is light weight so that I can wear it for long time. It is soft and large enough that it does not hurt my ears. I can easily hear others by touching the headphone while listening music. It sends my voice to other online listeners smoothly. One downside is it does not quickly connect to Windows machines as it connects to Android or Iphone, but it still connects and I use it with my Windows laptop most of the time.

The ANC on these is just ridiculous. Wore them while doing some carpentry and a normally earsplitting saw was totally in the background and barely noticeable with music playing. The sound itself is pretty good. I like it a lot for watching movies and for bassheavy music. Vocals and acoustic guitar come out better on some of my other headphones. Some details get buried a bit. I like how it folds up into a nice little case along with all needed travel cables. The controls are goofy. If you leave them around your neck, you will accidentally hit play.

Overall, I am disappointed with these headphones. The noise cancelling is not as good as I expected, despite other very positive reviews. Pairing these to my laptop was a challenge although I succeeded in the end. Despite the box saying Made for iPod they are not compatible with even the last version of iPod Nano, only with the Touch. This despite iPod having Bluetooth capability poor integration. This is very misleading. Volume touch control are really annoying as hard to stop switching sound off. Sound quality is quite good, but not outstanding in my opinion. Would I buy these again No, especially at the price they are.

The Sony WH1000XM3 wireless noise canceling headphones are the most incredible headphones I have ever used Not only are they supremely comfortable to wear, but the sound quality and active noise canceling are far superior to any other premium headsets that I have used. Super lightweight and excellent sound from these Sony over the ear headphones. All day battery life and comfort. Ears stayed cool during full day use while connected to my windows 10 desktop. The headphones ship with a great carrying case, a USBC fast charging cable, an audio cable for wired connection and instructionspaperwork. The headphones fold up perfectly to fit in the case which is a good size for traveling. The came fully charged and ready to go, so all you need to do is optional really, as they headphones will connect to your bluetooth device anyway download the Sony Connect app and set up the earphones. So far, after using it for 10 days, i had no problem either with connecting them to my laptop or cell phone or sound quality. I like the adaptive mode, it adjusts the noise canceleing while you are walking or running.

I bought these to cut out the inevitable background noise not my children as they are clearly perfect while Im on calls. It definitely makes a difference. I had read good reviews and would have chosen between these or the Bose ones. The noise cancellation definitely makes a difference not good if youre expecting deliveries as you wont hear the doorbell and enables you to focus on the calls at hand. Music is definitely good and the range enables me to go from my office upstairs to the loo downstairs without interruption. The reality is I havent owned anything else to compare it against and its a lot of money, but using them every day should justify the outlay thats what Im telling myself

Now these XM3s are some really nice sounding overears, dont get me wrong. But theres a serious problem with not just them, but their new younger brother the XM4s. The audio hiss that people continue to mention even to this day turns out its hereditary. And a VERY chronic global problem, one that Sony has still somehow failed to resolve. Far too many XM3s and XM4s utilize conductiverustable screws in their internal design, screws that mess with the ANC circuitry when they get moisture on them they act kind of like a capacitor when damp. Wear these in excess of an hour, pause your music in a semiquiet room, and youll likely notice it. I sure have. Because of how decent the seal against the sides of your skull is, your ears will warm up very quickly, and in turn youll begin to sweat. And it doesnt take much sweat to mess with the ANC. I was on the verge of asking PB Tech to refund me last year, because I didnt know that this was the problem and it was becoming incessantly more annoying with each use. Really I shouldve requested a refund from day one, given it was an issue from the very moment I first used these. But unfortunately I didnt. Now I am out of the return window, so Im stuck with these faulty headphones. Whilst listening to music prior to falling to sleep and getting increasingly annoyed with the hiss in the left earcup, once more I turned to the internet for answers. And for once, I finally found them. Someone had discussed the same issue, and came up with a valid solution. Stuff a silica gel pack into the affected earcup to absorb the moisture. Not a surefire fix to just replacing the screws for nonconductivenonrusting ones which Sony should really do, and although youre really just trading the hiss for the crackling of a packet, something is definitely far better than nothing. Whether this solves it, time will tell.

The noise cancallation is great. If you only need that, you go for a great product. All the rest is definitely subpar the touch interface is is difficult to use and sometimes you raise the volume instead of skipping a track imagine swiping horizontally or vertically on your right ear while you ear the headphone….As soon as it goes in headset mode rather than headphone the microphone turns on and you can hear the external sounds in your headset. I do not think this can be turned off. Awful. The microphone itself is not well placed to pick up your voice, so a phone call results in the other persons hearing a lot of the noise around you and not yourself. The few times I need to do a phone call with this, I connect the cable to avoid going in headset mode, and then I speak into the phone. In this way it works well, but…Pairing the bluetooth is slow but this is normail in bluetooth.

These are the headphones Ive been looking for Walking down a noisy London street they do a fantastic job of cancelling out all but the loudest of traffic meaning I can enjoy my music at a reasonable volume and hear the full spectrum of sounds. They sound fantastic and are reasonably comfortable to wear for a couple of hours at a time.As with all headphones, wind is their nemesis, though its definitely better than most others that Ive tried due to the fit for me at least.Pros Excellent Active Noise Cancelling. Fantastic, balanced, rich sound. Long battery life. Low battery warning at about 10.Cons mostly nitpicks Quite a tight fit around my glasses, not that much of an issue, but something to be aware of for glasses wearers. Without my glasses the fit very nice. The touch controls are a bit fiddly, sometimes it takes a few attempts to pause and occasionally I skip the track by accident when trying to adjust the volume. Can get a little unfomfortable after more than a couple of hours of wear, though adjusting them slightly, or a short break usually helps. Cycling through the three ANC setting is a bit janky, takes about three seconds per setting and has a horrible announcement of the settings name.Overall Im very happy with them and would definitely buy them again. Great service from Richer Sounds as always.

I bought these after my Bose Quiet Comfort overear headphones were stolen. All the reviews online pointed to these being the better ones. However, I have not found this to be the case. My grievances are few but here they are the case isnt as easy to put the headphones back into. I feel like its designed backward. This can be frustrating. the onoff button requires you to have the headphones on to tell if theyre on or not. Not as nice as the switch on the bose It also takes a long press to turn them off. this takes valuable time I dont like the touch forward back. It seems like a good idea, but in practice, its much more difficult to use than double triple tapping one button. the Bluetooth only connects to one device at a time.. so If Im listening on my computer, I cant receive a call on my phone. This is frustrating I didnt know how nice the Bose were in this regard until switching. noise canceling. I think these do better than the bose for canceling out voice, but maybe a little worse for airplane noise. there is an annoying ping that randomly comes through when your device is connected I think but it sometimes happens randomly while youre listening to things and is very distracting.I will be working to return or sell these in favor of a Bose version asap. Hopefully, this review helps someone

I bought this noise canceling rig to save my rapidly degrading hearing, enhance my audiophile experience, and to block out annoyingly loud coworkers. I can happily say all 3 objectives are achieved with these headphones. I am actually startled at work now, when people need to speak with me, because I cant hear them coming. The sound of the music is excellent. I listen to 67 hours or more of music per day in multiple settings car, work, home with multiple setups, and the sound with these headphones is superior. The base is exemplary. I dont dare turn the volume up when listening to baseheavy songs for fear of being baseblasted into deafness The richness of the music is soooo much better than any headphones Ive owned in the past. Pair that with the worldmuting noise canceling, and I cant recommend these enough. The charging is quick 30 mins for a 20 boost over my lunch break from a crappy power bank I bought from Wish. The over the ear style doesnt contribute to my ear infections like my ear buds do. The material that touches your skin is obviously high end I wish I had a full living room set made out of it. The only annoying aspect of these headphones is the double touch interface on the right ear. Sometimes it recognizes my input to pause or skip right away, but more often than not, I have to double tap multiple times to get it to pause, which is embarrassing when a coworker is trying to speak to me. But, after using them for over 4.5 months now, I would buy them again, again, and again.

Ive just bought another pair of 1000XM3s to replace a pair I left out in the rain That is one issue with BT headphones they are so portable you can leave them in the wrong place. They had been left out in heavy rain for two days, so I am not surprised they didnt work afterwards. I have a couple of pairs of wired headphones Grado and Sennheiser, which are both really good, but listening to good quality music without wires is brilliant They are light weight and comfortable to wear for long periods. They are stable on my head when walking around, but arent suitable for running or similar sporting activities. The battery life is more than adequate for my use.

These are one of the best NCAN Headphones Ive purchased. Its nicely integrated with its apps and its been helpful for my ADD. It drows out most noise and can even remove some human voices. The sound is great and balanced overall, with enough bass and enough focus on the mids. There are a couple improvements I would like to see though. I would like there to be multi device support like there are for Bose sound products. Second, after a while I start to feel pressure from the headphones, so maybe if the fit could be a bit more comfortablebe more lightweight that would be great. Lastly, the microphones work but are glitchy when having zoom calls and such so Ive had to use my apple airpods for doing zoom calls out of feat that they are unreliable. I would like to see that the microphone quality improves in the WXM4s.

I ordered these on the Best Buy app, and as usual they arrived on time. I really loved them but there was a weird almost popping sound whenever Id turn the volume up with my phone. The most annoying part was that since the day I received them, the right ear cup would have this strange sound whenever I activated the noise canceling setting option. I knew it wasnt normal because after turning them off and not using them for a while it wouldnt make that sound anymore. However it would always go back to making the strange blowing sound. The best way I could describe it was as if you went swimming and had water in your ear lol. When I played music it could sometimes block it out but it was very annoying. I realized this was a relatively common issue so I was going to return to Sony but its a hassle to mail it back. Fortunately Best Buy made it really easy to just go to the store and exchange it for a new one. If youre paying 300 dollars there shouldnt be any issues. The new pair I got were much better My second pair hasnt given me any problems thus far. So hopefully it stays that wayFor the product itselfAs I mentioned earlier, I really love them I was skeptical to buy headphones that were at this price, but I have to say the noise canceling is pretty great. No, it wont block out everything so try not to expect them to, but it is pretty amazing just how quiet the world around you can get. I havent done this personally but from what Ive learned about them, I dont think itd be a great idea to workout with them on as they are not waterresistant. Theyre very light, comfortable and they sound great Are they the greatest sounding headphones Probably not. But still worlds better than so many Ive tried before from a few other well known brands. They are pretty great and I like how you can mess with the EQ settings in the app to customize how it sounds. To me theyre worth the price I paid. Im happy with the purchase and I would have given 5 stars if it werent for the issues I had with the first pair. Finding out that it was a pretty common problem can be discouraging but cant deny that I still really love having them all the same

Ive been looking around endlessly for headphones really coming down to these and the Bose Quiet Comforts as well as others around the 300 price range. Of all of the ones Ive looked at these Sonys knock every. single. other. headphone. Out of the water. The battery life is superb netting you up to 30 hours on regular usage. Fast fuel charging gets you three hours in 10 minutes. The noise cancelling is and I really do believe this the best in the current headphone market. Soon as you put these on when they are off, you honestly will not hear much of anything and when you turn them on and listen to music at not even half volume, its just you and your music. No outside noise goes in when ANC is on. They are extremely comfortable, Ive used these anywhere between 16 hours and at times forget Im wearing them. The bass is incredible, you can genuinely feel the music making the experience very unique and new. At 350 these are well worth every penny and on sale like they are right now they are a no brainer. Id happily purchase these for even 400, thats the quality these carry. A definite must buy, trust me, if youre looking for headphones and want the best of the best, these are it,

The Bluetooth sound quality is exactly that, Bluetooth sound quality. Plugged in the sound quality is clear and neutral. Nothing special. I have Focal Utopia headphones for critical listening. I didnt buy these for the sound quality I bought them for the supposed noise cancelling quality that has received many outstanding reviews. I dont find the noise cancelling any better than my old Bose Quiet comfort earbuds and only marginally better than my ancient Sony nc headphones. The comfort of the Sony xm3s is very good and I had no issue wearing them for a 4 hour flight. The touch control feature is a nice feature and simple to use. I purchased these on sale and added on a few Best Buy dollars and had them shipped to me for a total of 177. Definitely worth that.

Granted, Im not an audiophile, though these headphones are clearly not catering to that crowd. But the people they are catering to, the folks looking for sleek, comfortable and good portable wireless stereo handphones, will get along just fine. This is one of my favorite purchases Ive ever made. I use these headphones daily. I wear them in my office, I wear them in the kitchen, I wear them in the airports and planes when I travel. The noisecancelling works exceptionally well. The sound quality is great. The battery lasts a respectable amount of time, and while Ive not tested whether they last on par with Sonys claims, I can tell you every time I checked the battery level I was consistently surprised how much battery life I had left. 77 percent, it would tell me, when I had been using them all week. Its impressive. Really enjoying the headphones.

The sound quality is fantastic, it truly is. However, the ANC interrupted the music constantly with an annoying bong to remind me it had just changed from one setting to another because I moved. It was like they are set up to constantly remind you of how good the feature is instead of just working well in the background. Equally, the touch pad drove me insane. It would change track when I tried to put the volume up or down. In short, great sound quality but otherwise over designed. Im going to go for the Bose Quiet Comforts instead.

The physical features of the headphones are well designed but the user experience is terrible. Here are some examples1. Everytime you go from sitting to standing, walking, public transit, ect it automatically switches NC modes which sounds nice right Except it plays a notification sound every time it switches which is a lot, and there is no way to stop that in the settings.2. Connecting and reconnecting to other devices is a chore compared to other Bluetooth devices.3. The touch controls are finicky and not intuitive. Once you know them it works ok but I had to check the manual.4. You can either have a button to toggle NC or the Google assistant but not both which is annoying. If you have it set to google assistant mode theres no discernible way to turn NC on or off.Theres more things like this, if you can get them for less then 230 it may be worth putting up with all the bad UX design but at this price point dont buy these.

I, like many others during covid times, am working from home. I use my work laptop to talk and meet with coworkers MS Teams. So I needed a set of headphones that work in this environment as well as using my phonetablet for audio spotify with the best possible quality. In the past, I tried doing this with other wireless products that used bluetooth and it never worked because of the lack of multiple bluetooth profiles on the headset. I went to many stores and no one could tell me if the microphone would work with my PC while listening to music from my cell phone. The idea here is that I would listen to music from the phone, then when I joined a meeting on my PC I would be able to switch over and use the headphones with the built in microphone in the meeting. It works flawlessly I connect to my cell phone using the Audio profile and connect to my PC using the Voice profile, simultaneously. So I get the best to both worlds.. The absolute best music quality from my cell phone along with the ability to take calls on my PC without any switching or manual effort on the headset.. it just works. Contrary to past reviews this works well, maybe they were using an old version The audio playing from the cell phone also pauses during my call automatically and resumes when the call is done. Love it..Sound quality Excellent.. punchy lows and crisp highs and seems to handle volume better than the boseActive Noise Cancellation the very best Ive experienced so far, bar noneTouch Controls really weird at first, but becomes second nature quicklyThe cellphone app What a great addition control LOTS of things.. from ANC levels, to 360 audio which I was really surprised at how good it isBuild Premium…Comfort Im fussy on the comfort aspect, and so far they are the most comfortable headphones I have had on my head for a lengthy period an entire work dayBottom line These headphones are next level futuristic and on the extreme end of quality premium headphoneseven though they are almost 2 years old and the xm4s are coming out Friday The fact that I can use them in the way that I want and they just work.. amazing.

I am not an audiophile but I grew up listening to rock on headphones. These XM3 are the best. My taste in music has expanded and these wonderful headphones deliver even when Im listening to Pavoratti or Calais. Classical music is thrilling and you really dont need to pump up the volume like we did in the old days. Franz Schubert, Bach, Chopin and the rest are sensuous and detailed. With Spotify and Bluetooth operating the headphones is easy. What I dont like is the app Sony recommended for operating the noise cancelling. It is not user friendly and looks different from what I saw in videos. Its likely just me not doing things right. Fortunately you can ignore that and just listen to music using the hand controls on the headphones. I also find that they seem to be a bit tight for my head.

Ive had these Sony wireless headphones for a few weeks now and they are just wonderful. They were easy to set up, linking quickly to my Mac and to my Android phone with ease. The sound quality is superb and features such as sound muting just by holding my hand over the right ear is truly useful. Battery life is as good as can be expected. The only issue I have found is that friends have said the sound is a little muffled when using them on zoom calls. Overall I would recommend these to anyone.

First off what an amazing pair of headphones So many features packed into these which make sure you will have the best sound that fits to your liking. I am a pilot and am also a avid traveler and these are my daily driver for relaxing and drowning out the noise of not just flying but the sounds of everyday life. I loved these headphones so much that I purchased another pair for my partner and she uses them as much as I do Highly recommendSoundThere been lots of reviews online about these its no secret that the noise cancellation feature is superb on these its also no secret that the sound is also superb and I found it to be accurate and pleasing to the ear no matter what kind of music I am listening to The response time of the speakers are like magic to my ears, they hit hard and fast when I need them to without delay but they also are extremely clear when watching movies or just watching the everyday video. The features that come along with the app make your listening experience personalized to your liking allowing you to change every aspect of the sound.Hand touch featuresThe hand touch features on the ear outside of the ear pads allows a quick streamlines experience allowing you to control everything you need to with just a swipe across the touchpad. There have been mixed reviews on the touch controls activating with no input in extreme cold, I live in Alaska and throughout this winter of using them almost every day while being outside, I can personally say they have never let me down.ComfortThese have to be some of the most comfortable for fitting headphones I have ever worn. I wear them to sleep often to drown out the everyday noise of the city allowing me to sleep soundly and in comfort. The fit forms around your ears making a nice seal which doesnt feel to tight but offers amazing passive noise canceling. The carrying caseThe case that came with it is beautiful its a hard shell case with a textured finish an open net on the back where you can sleep in a charger or anything else thatll fit and also has storage for your headphones inside along with two more what I call vertical pockets for your charger cord or other peripherals.

I used click and collect from the Maidstone branch of Richer Sounds, so did not get the normal face to face advice. However, Jay who brought them out to me has the same model always a good sign and offered to help with any questions I had.The sound cancelling is amazing. I cannot hear the fish tank pump at all, which means I do not have to have the volume so high. Its quite clever that it reduces the noise cancelling feature when walking around, giving you more awareness of what is happening around you.Really pleased with the headphones and unsurprisingly Richer Sounds.Tim.

Sony did a great job with these earbuds. From the design to the case, its amazing. The features that are included with the Sony headphones app are great. The noise cancelling feature is top notch and I use it for work all the time. You could also have ambient noise pump through the microphones if you need to hear certain things externally. One of my favorite features is being able to hold your finger on the touchpad to momentarily listen to external noise if youre going to have a quick conversation and you dont want to have to remove the earbuds. The sounds is amazing. Were talking Sony here. Listening to songs, you hear the separations of the highs, mids, and lows. Theres plenty of bass if youre into that and youre able to crank it up in the Headphones app and play with the equalizer, which is very easy to use. Once paired with your phone, all you have to do is just pull the earbuds out of the case and youre good to go. In my week with this, I have yet to experience any connection issues at all. My main complaint is that these dont have the best fit in my ears. No matter which size eartips I use that came with the earbuds, they somehow manage to fall out occasionally. So, your mileage may vary when it comes to the fit of these earbuds. All in all, these are fantastic wireless earbuds. They have great sound, amazing noise cancellation, and really good battery life. An all around win.

In preparation for 4 of us working from home during the school year, we were looking for good noise cancelling headphones for everyone. These knock out just about all the background noise and I have been scared multiple times when my wife taps me on the shoulder while working because I didnt hear her coming. Initially I could still hear a bit of background noise, but it pretty much removes all noise if you play a bit of white noise white noise black screen on youtube and youll be in a bubble.I read a few times that these wont connect to multiple devices, just want to clarify it does connect to multiple devices and remember devices that are paired. It just doesnt connect to multiple devices at the same time. The other complaint I saw was that they wouldnt connect to a Windows 10 computer. These connected to my computer without issue, just have to make sure to disconnect it from my phone first.

Very comfortable to wear and they sound very good. You get slightly more definition and clarity with the Bose 700, but for a couple hundred dollars less these are a great option. The noise cancelling is great and adaptive sound automatically adjusts noise cancelling for your environment works well, although it can be a little laggy changing and cuts out for a couple of seconds when it does you can turn this feature off in the app. Speaking of which, I think the Sony Headphones Connect App could do with some work.. Although easy to use and quick to setup the headphones, I found installing updates took a couple of attempts to complete successfully. Great that they come with cables, a travel case and adapter for airplane. Being Sony, I was disappointed that they are not compatible with the PS4. You can still use them by connecting via cable to the controller, however the mic doesnt work so you will need to purchase a third party USB dongle to get the full capabilities out of them. Swipe touch controls work well and a simple doubletap will pause or play music. Having the ability to put your hand over the right ear to let in sound is good when you need to have a quick chat and not worry about taking them off. Google assistantAlexa built in is a nice feature, although you need the assistant app open and running on your phone to make full use of the features. Not a big issue but found it drained my iPhone battery much quicker than usual. Speaking of battery the battery life on the headphones is excellent. I used them for a whole day at work and it dropped to around 90 charge. Overall very good and would highly recommended.

Never thought about spending more than 100 on headphones, but given the deep discount I thought I would give it a shot. Ive never used noise cancelling headphones before. Its like magic everything just gets quiet. These are super comfortable and have excellent sound quality. Being wireless and having the smart gestures to play, pause, go forward, back, and control volume without buttons is really amazing. I bought these to use for meditation, but now Im using them at work and at the gym as well. I just bought a second pair for my wife. Couldnt recommend enough.

The wireless noisecanceling headphones that Sony makes are out of this world. Even when they are turned off, they still block out a lot of noise. The software and hardware are great and there are a ton of features with the app to help customize it to your liking.I have these for when Im studying and I need some quiet time when my wife is watching tv. Theyre super easy to use, you just turn them on, hold down the larger button which starts the optimation, and once its done just connect to any Bluetooth device. The finish is made of something great, as its super hard to scratch.. Ive dropped mine numerous times out of bed or from the dining room table, and not one scratch has appeared.Theyre also super soft on the ears and the battery life is great. After about an hour or so its fully charged and I get about 12 weeks of use off and on between study silence and watching tv when my wife is working from home. One of the best purchases Ive made and Ill never be without a pair at my side.

Having had a pair of Lindy BNX60s for a year previous to buying my WH1000XM3s I will use this review to compare the two a little. These Sony WH1000XM3s are awesome, the sound stage is wonderful and the ANC is amazing. There are so many positive reviews out there that I just wont waste my time or yours trying to describe them, suffice to say they are just great and I shouldnt think you will find a better pair of ANC cans anywhere, if you want a pair and have the money just buy them you wont be disappointed.A year ago I was planning for a trip to New Zealand and wanted some ANC cans to help with the very long flight. I have tried all sorts of things in the past to try and elevate the constant tiring drone of the aircraft noise, Ive had over the ears phones with the sound turned up as well as stuffing ear buds into my ears to block out the noise but the thought of doing that for 30 plus hours was not a great thought so I went on the hunt for some ANCs. At the time 201819 the Bose QC35II were the best of the crop but in my view were too expensive to take a punt on. In the end I settled on a pair of Lindy BNX60 which I thought were really excellent and certainly did the job for me on the long flights to and from NZ. The Lindys are light, comfortable, well made and not having used ANC before certainly cut down the engine drone so that watching films or listening to music was a pleasure rather than a chore. Although the ANC on the Lindys does not eradicate the engine noise it does somehow reduce it and put it into the background. Its difficult to describe it really but if you just switch on the ANC without any music you can still here some of the engine noise but its somehow pushed away from your ears into the background so that when you play music the music is in the foreground and you can play it at a low volume and not be aware of the engines at all. Now this is quite different from the Sony experience where with ANC on the engine noise is all but eradicated. So in summary as far as using the Sonys in a aircraft they are simply amazing so if you want the very best there is go buy them but if you dont want to spend quite so much and just want to make long haul travel just a bit more tolerable the Lindys are a great buy in my view.

Sony WH1000XM3 is a masterpiece It has a superior sound quality and outstanding noise cancellation. I have used various other headphones but have found this headphone to be significantly better than the rest on the market. The headphones have a nice cushion on the top and the ear pieces are well cushioned providing that extra comfort for ears and head , when you need them for the long travel .I have used them in airplane and they cut out the noise significantly , that you cant even listen to literally anything with about 60 of volume. For normal use, volume level of 1530 is considerably good and cancels out the normal noise level. The headphone has 3 options to select noise cancelling, ambient sound, and ambient sound off. The best part of the headphone is you can turn of the active noise cancellation momentarily by just placing your palm on the rightside ear cup Sony calls it Quick Attention. The headphone has awesome touch controls, where you can control volume and change the music, just by sliding the fingers on the rightside ear cup. It is also compatible with the Google Assistant and Alexa you will just have to configure it via the Sony app.The Sony app is outstanding dont go by its rating on the Appstore. The app gives you that extra control for the headphones. It allows you to turn on the adaptive sound control, where in the headphone adjusts the noise cancellation level depending upon the environment you are in standing, walking, transportation, etc. to give you a better feel of surroundings depending upon the situation. The app has great equalizer settings which considerably changes the music listening experience depending on the genre and your liking. There is no app for the MacBook, however if you turn on the noise cancellation via the mobile app and then connect the headphone to the MacBook or laptop, the noise cancellation works just fine.Having that said, the headphone has only one trivial issue with Bluetooth when switching between multiple devices. You will have to disconnect the device where the headphone is connected first, to make it work with the new device. Just disconnect via Bluetooth setting, dont unpair The microphone had some issue earlier with people hearing my voice as distorted over call but seems like that was fixed in one of the software updates, as I dont have that issue anymore and the microphone sounds clear.Overall, the headphone is great to listen to music, be on conference calls, connect to iPhone, MacBook, windows laptop etc. The Bluetooth signal is strong enough to work with great coverage even when away from the phone. The headphone is equipped with the Fast USBC charging and charges headphone like in 10 minutes for almost 45 hours capacity. The noise cancellation is outstanding and even when no music is playing, it blocks out almost more than 50 of surrounding noise. The headphones are comfortable for long hours due to its perfect cushioning and ear cup size. They dont get warm as it happens with some of other headphones. Once you get used to Quick Attention feature, you will never want to leave it. Lastly, since I last bought it almost a year ago, it has got more than 2 software updates, so Sony at least keeps on updating the firmware as well. The headphone comes with a very sturdy travelling case.Must Buy for people loving music and noise cancellation

These are the best headphones Ive ever had Unbelievable sound quality I put them through their paces using the list of 10 songs to test your headphones at httpsmusiccritic.comequipmentsoftwarebestsongstestheadphonesI also tried out my favourite acoustic vocal performance Whiskey and me by Chris Stapleton every guitar pluck and every element of his incredible voice captured. It gave me chills. I then gave Ill never love again by Lady Gaga from A Star is born soundtrack the movie version a go Wow Goosebumps. Its almost like Ive never really heard these songs as they should be heard until I got these headphones. Ive been going through decades of my favourite artists just to listen to how they really should have sounded all along. The app is great. The headphones are stylish and comfy and the case is well made too. 30hrs battery life is awesome too So impressed. Buy them

Showing their age. I compared with Bose QC 35 II also fairly old it was a fair comparison between the two. I know what sizzle sounds like in a good audio setup from my old PPI amps and JL audio paired with Focal component speaker sets. Neither the Bose or the Sony match that kind of audio fire but between the two the old Bose QC 35 II sounds more true little more bright tad less emphasis on muddy bass very evenflat. These Sonys are a very 1 device at a time setup the Bose does a better job at switching between devices but also is not perfect. I use Bose QC35 II for TV Jabra 75T for walks and Bose AE2s for desktop pc with a proper amp they are nice. As far as Tech and cool factor Sony has bose beat to a younger crowd. I recommend these headphones to someone who has never heard better and wants to experience todays high tech option.

Background. Due to the current COVID19 pandemic, my wife and I both have to work from our home offices. We drive each other crazy with typing, phone calls, etc. Enter, some high quality, active noise.cancelling headphones. The setup was crazy easy. Launch software, hold device near phone, away we go. Felt great, fantastic noise cancelling, sounded good for ANC, and great device tuning via the app. USB C cable micro and mini are no longer allowed in our home, a nice carrying case, and all the wiresadapters I may need.Minor issue The lack of TRRS stereo sound mic support is annoying since the cheap ear buds that come with every phone since 2010 have it. However the close competitor Bose 700 also lack this support. Not subtracting a star for that.Unfortunately, the lack of multipoint support made using it on my laptop for VOIP calls and on my cell phone for direct calls overly complicated for both my wife and I.At 350 currently 300 it was only 50 formerly 400, now 350 away from the similarly rated Bose 700. If Im in for 300 another 50 to check all of my boxes is an obvious choice. At 350, there was no real cost reason for Sony to skip on this feature. If these Sony headphones had multipoint, Id still have two pair of these WH1000 instead of two pairs of Bose 700s.

I own two pair of these. I use both nearly all day every day for conference calls, switching between them frequently.Noise cancelling is sublime. WFH with spouse and a child in elementary school cannot hear anyone unless they are standing next to me and speaking loudly. Also sublime isolation in the noisy office. People have to knock on my desk to get my attention.Sound quality for music listening is also excellent. Balanced high quality, with a note the range is stronger when connected broader frequency response than over Bluetooth, which is a limitations of Bluetooth and is true for all Bluetooth headphones.Surprisingly good on conference calls only headset Ive owned that I can say this about. Both are failing where the plastic meets on the sliding ear piece. Its a small plastic bridge that fails, and when it does, the headphones cannot stay together. I fixed this with a zip tie. 4 of 4 joints have failed, so its definitely an issue. Also has a great travel case.

Pretty good headphones. To enable the high quality LDAC codec in android, go into bluetooth settings and click details then click the gear icon beside the listed headphones and you can go in there to toggle on LDAC. By default it uses aptx codec on my phone, unless you change it.In android Sounds and vibration sound quality and effects Adapt sound. There are 3 options there.First is boost high range frequencies,Second is Boost HighMidrange frequencies,Third is boost all frequencies. These headphones do not need a boost on the lower end frequencies, I suggest selecting the second option which is Boost HighMidrange frequencies. It is listed as 30 to 60 years old, but i would recommend this setting regardless of age.Pretty happy with them so far. Comfort is great. Charging time is very fast. Bluetooth performance is good, havent had any issues yet.

Like most buyers I read every review about these headphones and other leading brands in the same price bracket. I live near a busy road and sometimes I just want peace, especially in the summer when windows need to be open. So I decided to buy good quality headphones that could push the background noise back into the background, where it belongs I have not been disappointed, I am so pleased that I chose to invest in these. They are easy to operate. I didnt need to study the manual to learn how to use them. Intuitive I think is the word. The sound quality is mind blowing. I am transported to the centre of the orchestra or band, that I am listening to, with different instruments playing around me The noise cancelling works brilliantly. All in all I am delighted with these headphones, I am glad that I took the plunge and chose these ones over their competitors. They are worth every penny and I would certainly buy these again.

This is my 4th pair of headphones in around 6 weeks. The first pair were simply bought for conference calls at home. They were cheap and they worked, but no good for taking out with me.So I got a pair of Sennheisers. Very nice but not practical to carry about for phone calling. Also, they werent great on noisy trains, and I have tinnitus, so not keen to increase the volume. Then got a pair of AKG Y50BT. Great sound but not noise cancelling and not good on phone calls. These were bought at Richer Sounds who werent keen to take them back, since they generally dont do returns on headphones. However, it turned out that theyre was a fault. So no problem. Now my requirement is for noise cancelling phones that are great on phone calls, comfortable, great sound and reasonably compact. Now I spend 3 times as much to get the SonysThey are fantastic Yay. I wont be changing these. They do everything well. The only other phones I was now considering was the Bose 700, but the are 80 bucks more I dont doubt that they are amazing, but I decided to stick rather than twist onto the Bose. However, I only gave 4 stars because these headphones arent showersweat proof let alone waterproof. For nearly 300 pounds I think that they should be.

These are awesome and the best headphones I have ever purchased. They dont get hot, and are comfortable. They will block out the world for you. The battery life is amazing. For what I use it for, music, traveling, late night TV watching, they are fantastic. The one complaint is phone calls, not great at all, very average. But I actually dont use them for phone calls instead I use my galaxy buds because I can put them in my pocket and take them everywhere, driving, running, biking. So do not get these Sonys for phone calls. If I did not prefer my earbuds anyway for phone calls they would get 4 stars, but for what I use them for they get 5 stars.

1. I really dont get the hype over these headphones the noise canceling was…Well I didnt even know it was noise canceling when I had the said setting on. The Apples Air Pod Pros are FAR SUPERIOR regarding noise cancellation.2. they break easily. this was my second pair of this model and my 3rd pair of money headphones overall. They all break easily so take GOOD CARE. this might be a me problem though, I must admit.3. the ambient sound mode was annoying to be honest I think it better if you just choose your own white noise music.4. microphone is garbage. This is probably the biggest complaint about these headphones and from my experience its true. Whenever I would make calls on these headphones no one could hear what I was saying even if I was in a room all by myself.Note that I am not considered a verified buyer because my mom got these for me so the purchase is technically under her Best Buy account. But nonetheless we did buy from Best Buy.

The Sony WH1000XM3 Wireless Noise Canceling OvertheEar Headphones provide amazing sound quality, fantastic noise cancellation, packaged into a super comfortable design and a long lasting battery for up to 30 hours of continuous audio playback. You can go further and still use the headphones when the battery goes out by simply plugging in a 3.5mm audio cable into your device and youre good to go.Initial setup was very simple, you have the option of connecting the headphones via NFC or through the traditional method of connecting via Bluetooth. When interacting with the headphones, such as turning them on or off, connecting or disconnecting a device, or adjusting the noise cancellation setting, you receive verbal confirmation of those actions through a female voice. In my opinion, this is better than having a random set of beeps play back in your ears when youre interacting with the headphones. The only issue that I have with the Sony WH1000XM3 Headphones is the finicky gesture controls. I find myself moving to the next or previous track or YouTube video when Im trying to lower or increase the volume. If I slow down, the headphones seem to have an easier time recognizing my gestures. But beyond that minor issue, I really enjoy using these headphones. One of the unique features that I have enjoyed with these headphones is the ability to place my hands over the ear cup that is enabled for gesture controls to instantly reduce the volume of the headphones and allowing you to have a quick conversation without the need to take off your headphones.Overall, the Sony WH1000XM3 Wireless Noise Canceling OvertheEar Headphones are a great peripheral for anyone looking to enhance their audio listening experience. The sleek and comfortable designs makes using the Sony WH1000XM3 Wireless Noise Canceling OvertheEar Headphones enjoyable, while not having a flashydistracting design.

I originally wanted these because I work in construction and wanted to deaden the saws and nail guns to listen to music at work. As soon as I put them on in the store a whole new array of benefits was clear to me. They make everywhere feel like paradise makes the space between your ears seem like an empty echoing chamber. I put them on before shopping and I truly feel like Im the only person in a store. I have dropped them the top of houses being framed as well as got enough sweat on the pads to where I was sure I would have either mold or a water damage issue, neither persisted. Overall the benefits of true noise cancellation, the amazing bass for music or 3D sound for podcast, the build quality all make it an easy purchase for me. Im now just waiting on them to break so I can get my next pair.

I bought these after trying them out in store. They work with Bluetooth and have a cord to use if the battery runs out whilst you are away from a power source, which is very useful. Sound quality is excellent, whilst listening to some of my favourite music I heard sounds I had not heard before You have to download an app in order to connect via Bluetooth to the device you are using to play your music. This is a little fiddly, but you get used to it. The phones cut out a lot of external sound and if you want to hear what is going on around you all you need do is firmly touch and hold the right hand earpiece and you clearly hear all that is going on.The headphones are light and comfortable to wear, another reason I bought them. Occasionally the sound stops, this is sometimes if you receive an email or other notification. Sometimes it is not clear why, I have found disconnecting from the device and then reconnecting usually overcomes this problem. All in all a great pair of headphones, expensive but the sound quality is superb.

The Sony Wireless headphones are a gift from my wife. I absolutely love them. They are great for when I travel, and even when I am at home. The sound is incredible, the only drawback, is that the noise cancelling is not very good, or I have not mastered how to cancel noise. The sales associate during his spiel informed me they were noise cancelling, but failed to demonstrate their use.I must point out I purchased two other headphones during the process and was not satisfied with the other products. This one I like.

This is my second pair of these. I bought the first one two years ago to wear while mowing. Since I mow over 40 lawns per week, these get quite a workout. The first pair finally had a mechanical break in the left ear, but still that seems pretty durable for me. They get hard use, so after wearing them 3040 hours a week for two years, Im good with that. Anyway, I think I could have fixed the first pair, but these were on sale, so I bought a second one.The noise cancellation isnt perfectI still hear the mower. But its pretty good. My ear doctor says my hearing hasnt changed in two years, so these must be doing the job.

The Sony Headphones is overall great for me. Sound Quality little weak bass but the noise cancellation is almost great to cancel out surround noise or press the button for ambient. These Sony headphone got me to like the inperfect touch gestures on the right cup, but force to keep swiping to continue increment change the volume, covering the whole cup allow wearer to hear ambient and voices. headphones is very comfortable with a slight squeeze by the cups while wearing. Long term comfortable wear and battery life last for 12 hours. Fast charging possible under a hour I havent timed it its just a feeling. Bluetooth range above 10 meters and through wall without no drops or spikes from my USB Bluetooth v4, not so much from my phone. Android Sonys Headphones and Plex apps installed on my pixel 2 XL with new Android Q OS, skip skip and more skip from the Bluetooth. Im able to found the cause of it while i play music from plex app and happen infrequently.

I bought the ATLP120XUSB to replace a Pioneer PL990. I use it for home listening and am very happy with the upgrade. The first thing I noticed is how substantial this is compared to the other turntables I have owned. At 17.6 lbs, it outweighs the 990 by almost 10 pounds and feels very solidly built. The feet are adjustable and have good dampening properties. The packaging is very nice, and everything is well protected. One thing to note is that some of the pieces cover hinges, headshell, counterweight, and cue light are in one of the Styrofoam ends that holds the turntable in the box.Setup was relatively easy, and AudioTechnica has a YouTube video that shows you exactly what to do. Basically, its put the platter on the spindle, drop on the slipmat, install the headshell the cartridge is already installed on the headshell, balance the tonearm, set up the antiskate, and youre ready to go. The whole process took no more than 10 minutes, and I spent much of that time doublechecking the balance of the tonearm. The direct drive system works well. The quartzcontrolled speed is spot on and rock solid. There is no motor noise that I can hear, either through the sound system or mechanically. The sound quality is excellent. I have a decent, midrange system and this fits in well. The included ATVM95E cartridge has decent frequency response 20 22,000 Hz and produces good, full sound. Im using the turntables builtin preamp and it does the job well. One thing I really like is the ability to record using USB. Im using Windows, and it was simply a matter of plugging in the cable and starting Audacity. The turntable shows up as a source in the dropdown for me it was already selected so all I had to do was start playing and hit record in the software. So far I havent come across anything I dont like. At first I wasnt sure about the fully manual operation, coming from the automatic PL990, but it isnt really an issue. If anything, it makes the whole process of listening to records even more engaging for me.If you are looking for a good midrange turntable that doesnt break the bank, this is definitely one to consider.

I held off writing a review for this until I used them for about 6 months so far. I fly two to four times per month and use these on every flight. The noise cancelling sound quality and build quality is all excellent. I had a hard time deciding between these and the Bose and Im glad of the choice I made. On some flights, I just turn the headphones on and listen to nothing the noise cancelling feature blocks out all unwanted sound. Also, Im surprised by how much I use the ambient sound feature. Using the app which seems to get new features through updates pretty regularly youre able to control how much voice you want to let through. So you can clearly hear whats being said over the loudspeaker or if someone talks to you. I can hear voices better with them on than when they are off I dont use the touch controls too often, although sometimes I accidentally hit them and will skip to the next track. Its not that big of a deal and I bet I can turn off touch controls using the app, however Ive felt no need to do that.I read some reviews about these not being the most comfortable, however Ive had no issues with comfort and can wear for long periods of time. Ive even fallen asleep with them on. I guess they can get a little warm, depending on the climate, but I think that would be the case with any over the ear headphone. After 6 months of travel use, they still look brand new.Overall these are a true premium travel headphone that I cant recommend enough

The headphones are great. They come in the original box with all the instruction books youll need. They are in new condition. Set up is easy and then youre listening to great quality music. The noise cancellation is impressive, background noises are very quiet and soft when you use the headphones. Long battery life. I highly recommend, with one exception it may be uncomfortable for a while for a bigger head. Youll have to stretch out the tension. It is a bit uncomfortable pushing against my jaw at times. Besides this, the grip it has on your face is strong, the headband is padded and comfortable, noise cancelation is great, and design is sweet. I look forward to all my future workouts and music listening in general

The noise cancelling is exemplary. No it will not create an absolutely silent atmosphere when in a noisy situation, but it blocks out so much sound that you really need to try it to believe it. And this is great for commuting, especially on the tube, where I now barely have to hit half way on my volume crank. The accompanying app also allows you to tune the ambient noise option, so you can let in external noise when walking out and about, allowing you to stay alert with moving traffic and obstacles whilst still wearing the headphones. I didnt appreciate this feature before purchasing the product, but now find it invaluable as I am able to listen to my music and podcasts whilst walking without taking them off, whilst still being aware of my surroundings. The sound quality is also excellent. Working in the media, this is very important for me. And with the accompanying app, you can change the properties of the headphones to suit your own liking. Once getting it set up, I found the bass deep and the higher frequencies crisp, whilst still being well balanced. The headphones come included with a great designed case, with a divider providing extra integrity when jammed in a packed bag. It also includes a 3.5mm jack cable, inflight jack and USBC which allows for very rapid charging. The only thing I would improve here is the length of the USBC cable, which is annoyingly short. The headphones very comfortable, whilst also gripping your head tight enough to stay in place, but not enough to be uncomfortable over long periods of time. The touch controls on the right headphone also work well, but do take some getting used to.Overall, these are a very well designed pair of headphones for both sound quality and features, being the current King of noise cancelling and overall very worthy of its price point.

The Sony WH 1000XM3 is the closest thing to the perfect over the ear head set that offers unbeatable sound quality, noise cancelation and soft cushioning. Putting these bad boys on makes me forget that I live in New York City and yes, the noise cancelling on the 1000XM3 is that good. However there are some things that troubled me… but first lets get to the good before my nit picking after using these headphones for 2 weeksWHAT I LOVED NOISE CANCELLATIONSOUND QUALITY 5 Stars Having worn the 1000XM3 in the loudest places walking in the streets of NYC and in the community laundry mat I have to commend SONY for doing an amazing job with the noice cancellation. Most of the time I honestly forgot how noisy these places can be which I am quickly reminded of as soon as I take the headphones off or when I temporarily deactivate the noise cancelling by holding my hand on the control panel. Which is absolutely amazing and a feature I found myself using quite often.SONY Connect App really simple to use and I love the customization. One of my favorite features is the automatic adjustment of the noise canceling levels according to your position i.e. sitting, walking, running, or traveling keep in mind that in order to use this feature, your GPS must be on in order for detection to occur. Otherwise you can adjust it yourself.Bass is just right not too loud or muddy. Sound is nice and crisp as though youre listening in a soundproof room. One feature that I have enjoyed but probably wont use often is the ability to change how the music is perceived via Surround VPT such as in an Arena, Concert Hall, Club lots more bass, and Outdoor Stage. But also have the option to equalize according to my own taste. DESIGN AND COMFORT 4.5 Stars Slick, simple, and clean. As soon as I saw the black version, I was completely in love. SONY definitely paid attention to design and followed the general rule of less is more. I love the overall black matted covering but the small accents of copper really gave it a slick modern look. The cushion padding really makes the headset an absolute pleasure to wear sometimes I forget that I am even wearing them as I am running outside to finish some errands. As with the headset, SONY also paid a lot of attention to the carrying case as well. Making sure that the outside is hard enough to protect the headset while traveling but without sacrificing its slick design. CONTROLSUSUAGEFEATURES 4.5 Stars PowerNFC button are on the left side After turning the battery on, tap the power button for battery indication. Press NFC button to toggle between 3 modes ambient sound, ambient sound off, and noise cancelling. Right side has a touchgesture controls swipe updown for volume control swipe backforward for track control double tap to pause and resume music and lastly, hand over right ear to allow ambient noise outside noise to come through when youre talking to someone or just want to listen in on outside noise.BATTERY LIFE about 30 hours as advertised give or take factors like volume, noise cancelling etc. But quick charging feature via Type C is a life savor, allowing me to reach about 50 battery charge in about 20 minutes. Talk about quick so no worries there when you forget to charge your headset.WHAT COULD BE IMPROVEDNote Im just a little nit picky but here are some things that I would like to see improved if possible for future designsLoved the matte black but it leaves some noticeable fingerprint marksSWITCHING BETWEEN TWO DEVICES Ive had some issues with trying to switch from using my ipad and iphone ultimately the only way I can use either device is to completely delete the headset from my bluetooth connection and I would have to reset the connection a few times before it finally gets detected. Ive used other bluetooth headsets before without much of an issue when switching between two devices. If SONY can fix this I would forever be gratefulAUTOMATIC POWER OFF Instead of turning off at a specified time that bluetooth is connected it should be turned off at a specified time when the headset is not in use. There have been days that I take my headphones off and forget to turn it off but because it is still connected to my phone, the power drains and by the time I use the headphones again, the battery has already drained.NOTE those with long hair, if your hair covers the touchgesture panel on the right earmuff it would be very difficult for you to use the touch feature at least it was for me as it wont be read. I definitely made sure that my hair wasnt in the way when using these headphones.OVERALLDespited my little nitpicking, I absolutely adore these headphones from the design to the sound quality, SONY has outdone itself. It is one of the best, if not THE BEST, set of headphones I own and the fact that it has made me forget that I live in one of the noisiest cities in the world, it is a HUGE PLUS I cant wait to try these out in the plane Look no further I highly recommend and urge you to invest in these headphones.

The plastic near the ear pieces broke while adjusting. I had to apply electrical tape to keep them closed. Otherwise it will fall apart and expose the wiring. These headphones stayed at home and were only used by me to watch TV and listen to music. Not very much bass. Noise canceling is almost nonexistent in certain situations. You can hear talking as if the person is right next to you but it will block fan noise. I regret this expensive purchase.

I have had the pleasure to try many headphones of all brands but these definitely offered the best sound. Yea there are more headphones out there that have the ability to tweak the highs and lows to have even better performance for studio references but the price and the quality of these headphones is phenomenal. I have had mine for about 1.5 years and if you take care of them, neither the bands or the plastics will snap like how they often snap for other users for careless use dont mean to call anyone out, but its true. However, I do have accumulated some scratches on them for not properly setting them down on my surfaces.Forgot to mention the noise cancellationIts great when you have music playing at low volumes. If you dont understand how noise cancellation and you complain about these not being that great because you can still hear a bit of noise, then I suggest you try to educate on its complexity to know that these have a great noise cancellation system for the price.1010 recommend

The headphones are pretty comfortable to wear. They are on the snug side so if you have an exceptionally large head, these may squeeze too much. For average heads, it is fine and probably works for unusually small heads too.The sound quality is great. The sound is rich and not nearly as sculpted as other. The bass is full without being crazy over amplified. The option to use wired or bluetooth is awesome. Used them on a flight that only have a 3.5mm jack and it wasnt an issue with the supplied cable. The gestures on the right ear are intuitive and you will have them memorized in no time. The headphones also get software updates through the Sony app on your phone.

I own a good number of headphones, including Beats Studio original and 3, Beats Solo 3, Bose QC I, Skullcandy and a few others.I prefer noise canceling and wireless cans. These overtheear headphones are the best noisecanceling headphones on the market. It blocks out noise as good as any other the ones that I mentioned. This is an app that you can download which allows you to the adjust the music have you like it. I wanted a bit more bass in my music and the app allowed me to do just that. The sound is balanced, crisp and clear. The design is decent. They are comfortable on the ear and not too heavy. The controls are touch based, meaning that you swipe with finger to change volume and change tracks. In the quick attention mode, you can place your hand over your ear, and you can hear outside sounds. This is useful if you are talking to someone. It comes in a very nice case and the needed accessories such as charging cable and plug adapter. It is a highend headphone, and it retails at 349. If you are patient, you may can find them for 50 or more off the retail price. There is a new version of Bose so I do not know how these compare. Nevertheless, these do an awesome job of canceling out unwanted sound I have used these on several flights with a very good battery life.

I recently had to start working from home full time and let me tell ya its been an adjustment. Between the tv being on and my mom taking her conference calls on speakerphone for the whole household to hear, its been a much louder work environment than Im used to. I was hesitant to spend this much on headphones, but saw the positive reviews and decided to give it a shot. BEST. DECISION. EVER. These noise cancelling headphones work alright just on that mode, but once you start playing music it does an INCREDIBLE job of blocking out all the household noises. Now, its not magic, so if someone is talking loudly right next to you, you can still hear it. But they have done a great job reducing the amount of noise I would typically hear from the conference calls to the point where I can barely hear it and can actually focus on my work Definitely worth the money. Sound quality is also great and I enjoy using them to relax after work too. They are very comfortable as well and dont squeeze too tight and give me headaches like some cheaper headphones Ive used previous. Highly recommend.

These headphones are awesome. I initially purchased these after watching a few reviews in comparison to the newest Bose models, Boses previous noise cancelling generation, and the Microsoft headphones. These seemed to deliver all that I wanted and were reasonably priced. The noise cancelling is perfect. Being able to head what I am listening to without any interference noise from the outside environment is refreshing. Ive used these on national and international flights for over 6 hours and the experience was great. Theyre also fairly comfortable for my earhead shape size when I begin to notice most headphones around my temple area and on top of my ears I typically have these adjusted one click from the smallest setting. The sound that these output are also very good. Having the option to equalize your listening experience through the mobile application really improves the experience. These headphones coming in a hard case as well makes travelling with them an ease. I do not have to worry about these getting crushed in my work bag or school bag.I did deduct one start because of the integration that Sony had to make with their mobile application. You can not adjust the settings without going through their application as your limited to what you can do with your mobile phone. The headset also has certain features that when enabled, prioritizes one thing over another for example, one can prioritize connection vs. listening experience, in which as a consumer, I would want both This also affects how you can enable the noise cancelling and ambient leveling.Overall, I would recommend this headset. The footprint isnt too big, theyre comfortable, sound quality is great, noise cancelling is great and the devices handoverearcup ambient hearing, and the battery life is great advertised up to 30 hrs, which I didnt mention in my review. I would also recommend considering skipping the Bose as my review research has shown that their newer models did not seem to be constructed as well flimsy, some panels popping off when stressed, etc.. for the price as paid new.

When the first Sony WH1000 X series came to the market, the inter web was fired up. Three generations later, I could confidently say that these are easily more feature rich, comfortable, with killer noice canceling without compromises in the sound quality. I am an audio file and have had experiences testing various styles of headphones, and heres my breakdown. Starting with unboxing, these definitely felt like the 350 headphones that it is. The headphone was inside the case nicely folded along with the airplane adapter, standard 3.5mm audio cable, and a disappointingly short cable but never the less a welcomed addition USBC for charging. I felt very pleased with the way these felt in my head, from the leather wrapped headband to the plushy ear cup. Its mostly made up of plastic but felt far from feeling cheep thanks to the mat coating. The copper accent added a premium look. One downside is that it does tend to get a little sweaty within the ear cups, which is to be expected with over the ear cans as these, but Bose seems to know how to make their cans more breathable Feature wise these support all the major bluetooth codec, including LDAC. There is a noticeable yet slight improvement in sound quality is hard to discern when streaming via Apple Music and Spotify. The soundis definitely more geared towards average listeners, with more emphasis in base but its flat frequency response and dynamic frequency response from these drivers are definitely above average, and its original sound signature is better than Beats studios. In conclusion, these have characteristically fun sound profile that even some audio files may find pleasing. These work both actively or passively, meaning by plugging the headphones directly into the audio jack. Noise canceling here raises the bar however. QN1 processor not only insures that they sound great, but noise cancelation performances on these are incredible. I generally experience a feeling of pressure sensation when using a pair with ANC, but Sony just seems to know how to do it right, combined with adaptive ANC adjustments as well as the touchpad trick of pumping in the external sounds instantly, these are the champ Overall, I highly recommend these cans and are well justified for its price range

I did the research to best buys in noise cancelling headphones. At the price I was willing to pay, these Sony headphones got great reviews and awards. The noise cancelling is very effective. The Sony app is a must to give control over sound levels. The app allows many graphic equaliser settings some presets, and customisable too, to enable you to set your preferred levels. Comfortable, and the touch controls on volume on bluetooth work as expected. All in a sturdy carrier. I am delighted.

Seriously these headphones feel and sound like they should be in a class of their own. I bought these to use both at home, and in a plane. They are AWESOME Superb sound quality, incredible noise cancellation, and so far the Bluetooth has worked great. The touch controls are simple once you get the hang of them, and the feature to let outside sound in by covering one ear is genius. I use this to pair with an Apple TV when watching TV late at night to not disturb others. But I also have used them in planes and have been so happy to have them. They take a bit of space in my carry on but its worth it. My only gripe is that you cant really lay your head down or rest your head to the side an use these. For that reason it makes me want a second pair that allows me to do that, but thats excessive and silly and Ill just deal for now. If youre considering these I say do yourself a favor and try them you wont regret it

I needed headphones with very good noise cancelling as the 30mph road I live near to has become a race track for boy racers and it was painful to spend time in the garden. These cans have made it possible to spend time outdoors again. The police and local council are not taking action so these HPs will make things a bit more tolerable until I can move house.Sound quality is excellent for Bluetooth and for the price albeit with some prominence in the midbass that I initially found hard to live with until I used an 3rd party equalizer to dial back between 130 650 hz by 3db now they sound very musical.I originally intended to use the Sonys for spoken word audio only as I did not think they would be anywhere near good enough for music however, I was wrong as music listening is a joy not good enough to temp me away from my Sennheiser HD 880 Ss but great for what I needed them for. They may appear to be expensive but I think they are actually outstanding value. Also comfy and I love the touch controls.

Good stuff The NC is as good as the reviews say. Controls are simple and reasonable fumble proof buttons. Inbox instructions are a bit spartan, but online doco is thankfully decent. Over ear seal and comfort is excellent. Bad stuff Over head padding is a bit narrow and sharp. This is personal head shape thing so make sure you test it. The audio cord supplied is too short. Yeah some of us do use cords occasionally and this one is just annoyingly short. The NC mics orientation is very upwards directional, so you will get a minor ambient intrusion from some angles occasionally. I am working in very noisy construction zone so I am really giving it extreme sounds to deal withAddicted2audio service and follow up was excellent. Price was also very competitive. You wouldnt walk around with your shoe laces tied together would you So dont be dumb and turn NC OFF when your out on the streets. Instant gene pool delete isnt pleasant

For those who know me, it is certainly no mystery that I spend a lot of time reviewing personal audio products. Ive written before about how the market space has exploded over the last several years, and even more recently remarked that it is getting harder and harder to find bad headphones and bad speakers. Thats of course not to say bad headphones and bad speakers dont exist, especially at budget prices, but just like smart phones there are plenty of manufacturers that are succeeding in developing budget options for those people who really enjoy a good audio experience. And just like in the smartphone market, you still have the big players, like Bose, Sony, and Beats, who continue to sell products at the top end of most peoples comfort zones. Some number of years ago, when Boses QC line of overtheear headphones hit the market, people balked at the 350 price tag I am no stranger to spending top dollar for flagship products, my recently acquired iPhone X S Max is a testament to that.Ive also had discussions recently with friends about the nature of audiophiles, and what they expect out of a great pair of headphones. I remember remarking that the Bose QC35s are an allaround great pair of headphones, even for those folks who are really picky about what they hear the response to that was that true audio files would have a serious problem with my statement. But what we have to remember is that Sony and Bose and Beats arent marketing toward audiophiles but they are doing a great job converting more amateur listeners of music and watchers of movies into people that can tell the difference between good and bad when it comes to audio quality. My wife, who has on many occasions shared her discontent with my obsession over headphones and speakers, is a great example of that she has been using my Sennheiser 598 SEs for the last couple of months.I once bought and returned a pair of Bose QC35s when they were originally released the active noise canceling was a little bit too much for me to handle. Still, Ive wanted to get back into that space and test out some great noise canceling headphones even though the negative pressure makes me motion sick. So, I jumped at the the opportunity to review the Sony WH1000X M3wireless headphones,First and foremost, its important to note that these headphones are a direct competitor to the Bose QC35s, and the finished product is definitely something to get excited about. The build is a largely plastic one, with soft and supple ear cups as well as a nice headband pad along the top. The design is minimalist at best, with only two buttons on the left ear cup one for controlling power and one for controlling noise cancellation functions. There is an auxiliary input jack on the left ear cup as well, and the headphones can be used without power in the event that your battery runs out. The right ear cup sports a single USB type C port, and while I will get more into this later, the right ear cup is touch sensitive with an array of additional controls. The headband is extremely flexible, and the matte black design that is carried throughout the entire pair of headphones is extremely pleasing to the eyes. There is a mic on each ear cup as well. The ear cups turn inward and the headphones fold and collapse so that they can be easily stored in the provided carrying case. The carrying case has room to also store the USB charging cable, an auxiliary input cord and an airplane headphone adapter which are all included. While the included auxiliary cable was not of a particularly high quality, it will definitely do the trick since youre going to be using these wirelessly most of the time. The carrying case itself is a clamshell style case providing protection for the headphones and has a soft fabric on the inside to protect the headphones from scrathes its a full zippered enclosure with a mesh pocket on the back for carrying additional cables if you prefer. The case itself on the outside has a dark denim look which is also pleasing to the eyes.In terms of comfort, the Sony WH1000X M3s feel as nice as they look. Weighing in at just over 250 grams, theyre extremely lightweight but still provide great flexibility and comfort during wear even during long sessions of listening there is no wearing fatigue along the top of the head or at the jawline. And, because the design allows the ear cups to be folded inward, they are extremely comfortable to wear around the neck if youre not using them. I will admit, they can get a little warm, but thats nothing new for overear headphones I would not pick these as great headphones to wear at the gym, but in a more relaxed setting they are extremely comfortable. The packaging touts a 30hour battery, which of course is going to be different based on your volume and noise canceling adjustments, and I found that the battery does last well over 20 hours during my testing under normal use. They are also quick charge capable, providing five hours of playback time with only a 10minute charge. I also want to point out how excited I am that these headphones charge with the USB TypeC cable and not micro USB like so many other headphones that are still being released today. Sadly, they only have Bluetooth version 4.2, and not version 5 like some other flagship headphones. In terms of performance, and in short, these are the first overear headphones that I think truly give the Bose QC35s a run for their money. The sound profile right outofthebox is very flat, and is probably intended to be that way. The headphones allow you to toggle between active noise canceling, noise passthrough, and passive noise canceling with no modification to your audio. For the purpose of this review, audio quality was assessed with no active noise cancellation.I am no stranger to Sonys line of extra bass products, which certainly accomplish providing a great audio experience with fantastic bass its clear that Sony has brought some of that technology into the WH1000X M3s, as the lowend capabilities of these headphones strike a nice balance between bass lover and acoustic appreciation. The mids offer exactly what you would expect, and in some cases, this is where these headphones shine most. Vocal and acoustic tracks have an almost live feeling, sometimes even raw. Sony also does a great job with the highs on these headphones, where even at 100 volume there is no crass separation in cymbal crashes and other highfrequency sounds. The performance of these headphones out of the box, though, is only enhanced by the Sony companion app available for iOS and Android. Among all of the products that Ive reviewed and all of the companion apps that go with them, Sonys Headphone Connect app continues to provide among the best user experience and simplest interface. The app allows you access to a basic equalizer, as well as adjustments for soundstage and noise canceling options. Settings adjusted within the app take place realtime on the headphones, and are stored so you dont have to reset them every time you power them on.As I mentioned before, one of the great features of these headphones is the touchsensitive controls located on the right ear cup. A swipe up or a swipe down on the ear cup will adjust the volume, while swipes forward and back allow for track seek and track skip. Double tapping the right ear cup will play or pause your music as well as answer phone calls, and covering the right ear cup with your palm will lower music volume and let through ambient noise this can be especially helpful in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions.Theres really only one thing that I dont like about these headphones, and that is how warm my ears get if Im doing even the most basic physical task like folding laundry. That is by no means a dealbreaker, though, because all overear headphones that provide great passive noise cancellation like the WH1000X M3s have that same characteristic, including Boses QC35s.At a retail price of 350, these are by no means cheap, but there are cases where you get what you pay for and this is one of them. Now, whether or not its appropriate that highend consumer headphones not audiophile studio headphones are commonly sold between 300 and 400, compared to the competition the Sony headphones hold up well. Between great battery life, quick charge capability, the great minimalist design, USB TypeC, and a super comfortable wearing experience, theres no reason to think that anybody would be disappointed with these headphones.

I have been using Sony 950Bs 950Ns both NC and non NC versions. Both are comfortable but seem mildly subdued in the midrange extending down to the human voice range 1.5KHz to 950Hz. The new WH1000XM3 are built sturdier. The sound is clearer in all ranges and the side volume control is a joy. I have had no problems whatsoever with the finger tapping functionality. Also, I have not encountered any squeakiness with the WH1000XM3s build as I do with other headphones.Amazingly, when I first turned on the NC noise cancelling function I was stunned. I thought my ears had become plugged up. Pretty much all outside noise was blocked. Then when I engaged some music playback the experience was akin to listening in a sound proofed recording studio. Just listening to the music and nothing else. I do not own a set of Bose NCs but have tried them. The Sonys work as well except that I dont believe they can shut off sound interference totally. It should be noted that the ambient sound level in which I was listening was a normal office type workspace i.e. there was no heavy construction taking place nearbyI am surprisingly surprised at the quality, sound and noise cancelling qualities of the SonysWrite your review here. It must be at least 5 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

Even with the XM4s now out these bad boys are still top of the market I originally had the MDR1000X for a few years and ended up selling them to my Brother and using the money to upgrade to these which was a great choice. There is a lot of customization you do on the iOS app which is new and the noise cancelling and environment detection is a lot faster and efficient. The headphones are also A LOT more comfortable to wear long term and fit a lot better than the MDR1000X. Bluetooth connection has never been an issue, my only complaint is you essentially have to put it in search mode each time you want to switch devices I heard this was fixed in the XM4s. Other than that I have no complaints and highly recommend them out of the whole market now.

I bought the latest Bose headphones about a month after I purchased these but I immediately returned the Bose. These are great noise cancelling headphones. One of the best investments Ive made especially since I travel often for work. I can tune out a lot of the airplane noise around me and still have great quality sound for my music. These are worth it and deserve more hype than Bose. Seriously. Bose may have the sleeker design with the 400 series, but these have the quality and surround sound type of tech you just cant beat right now. I cant wait til they come out with a newer and improved version.

Im not sure what else I can add to the deluge of positive reviews these cans have gotten, but heres my thoughts in brief….If you can afford these headphones, and you like over the ears, you should buy these right away.Battery life Insane. It almost feels uncanny how infrequently you have to charge these. I find myself checking the battery levels just because I cant believe how long they last.Touch controlscupping So convenient. I can adjust the volume or switch tracks with a flick of a finger. I can cup my hand over the right ear cup and activate the external mics which pick up insane levels of voice from across the room, or into another room. I use this all the time.Comfort Super comfortable with the light, pleather type material. For me, the ears get a little sweaty after a while, but it just took getting used to having something over my ears. I use these to help me sleeptake naps in my chair, and their wonderfully comfortable.Noise canceling Again, they work so well, its almost creepy. Ive always struggled to take naps because Im a light sleeper. With these, its a thing of the past. For example, today, my fatherinlaw was drilling and working on some wood pillars outside my study window, where my sleeping chair is. I popped these headphones on, and listened to some whale sounds, and I was out like a baby. I didnt even know he was out there till after the fact. The noise canceling is phenomenal.Price Flippin expensive. But they are amazing, and I dont mind paying a proper price for something of this quality, and with this set of features. These are easily the best headphones Ive ever bought and the inear little brothers of this that just came out are great, too.If you can afford them and youre in the market for high quality, high fidelity cans with the features these tout…buy them.

When I bought this I was skeptical because of the price. Is so expensive compared to all the other headphones that I have. But once I put them on I noticed the sound quality is way better than my other headphones. But there are some negative things about it. I originally got this for my windows surface pro because I travel while I worked and Im deeply disappointed that this headphones has no windows app for it. I can still use it but it sounds horrible compared to using it on my phone which has app support. That being said the sound cancelation is fantastic. Me being on the plane it filters out all the engine noise and being in a loud restaurant same thing. The app gives you Calibration on noise canceling. Pro light, sounds fantastic, comfortable, very good noise cancelations. Con only good on Android and Apple devices, no windows app, expensive, the controls has a bit of a learning curve.

Without a doubt the most regrettable choice Ive made in relation to listening to… stuff. The noise cancelling is honestly great, but I bought these to actually listen to things, thats what I get for trusting best headphones reviews online. Yeah battery life is awesome, yeah noise cancelling is awesome. Both of those attributes are literally nothing compared to the fact that they sound like garbage. I buy headphones to listen to… whatever I want to listen to. But the only thing these headphones are good for is not listening to things. Their noise cancelling is great, their sound production rivals that of a 5 earbud set you could get from any impulsesection of any store youve ever been in. 1010 earmufflers, 310 headphones. Id return them but the entire world is kinda dealing with something at the moment. Just please dont repeat my mistakes.

I use this pair of headphones almost every moment I am awake. The noisecanceling is AMAZING, and so is the sound quality. The padding at the top of the head and the ear cups are super comfortable, but when wearing it for a few hours, your ears begin to heat up a bit obviously, since theyre completely covered. At that point, you might want to take them off for a bit to cool down. This would be a problem with basically any pair of overtheear headphones though. It just wasnt something I was used to because I only used to use onear headphones prior to this purchase. Also, a quick note The companion app allows you to control more precise stuff like bass and treble, but it is not needed to use with the headphones. The touch controls on the right side is pretty easy to learn although I never use Google Assistant. I only use it for volume controls and pauseplay. It also charges really, really fast via USBC and lasts a long time. I use mine primarily for gaming and it easily lasts me the entire day. It also has NFC to connect, which works. Ive only used it a few times though because I find Bluetooth to be more convenient.Honestly, just a great pair of headphones.

I went to the store to try out as many brands and models and to speak with an associate with an honest assessment and that has at least used these headphones. I found one that owns a pair. The associate mentioned that the setup in store does not reflect the performance capabilities and quality of these headphones.I did a fair amount of research from various websites that review headphones before heading out to make a purchase. I finally decided on the Sony WH1000XM3B.So far so good I have not been disappointed the sound that comes through these headphones is exceptional. I dowloaded the Sony app that allows you to configure additional settings to adjust to your listening environment. The noise cancelling is excellent and blocks out those unwanted noises. Easily paired with my iPhone.I wanted to be fair and not just throw a 5 star rating at this product. The Bose were nice but these Sonys were just that much better.

This is a realistic review of the Sony WH1000XM3 headphones. The design is good enough, not great. The noise cancelling is top notch, as advertised. I have doubts about how durable the plastic is. I have broken plastic headphones, three sets, and these feel like they would break if you are not careful with them. The sound Ugggg. The sound is extremely colored and the only way to fix it is with an EQ. Otherwise you will hear muddiness in the bass and mid bass. Problem is, the only way to properly EQ them is with the phone app. There is not a Sony app for your PC or laptop. To be quite honest, I really do not know why these headphones get such high ratings. Probably because of the noise cancelling I guess. I have listened to many other wireless headphones that sound better than these. I have them 4 stars only because 3 and a half isnt an option.

These headphones have stellar noise cancelling capabilities in any environment you wear them in. This is my first pair of noise cancelling and I spent quite a bit of time doing research before buying. Since these were rated as the best out there, I figured this would be the best route to go. Build quality is very very good with a sturdy frame and high quality materials. The sound quality is excellent, especially for wireless headphones, with punchy and accurate bass mixed with warm mids and clearcrisp highs. I recommend downloading the headphones app that goes along with these, as it allows custom equalizer settings and access to other system settings as well. As for battery life, I believe they actually under rate it at 30 hours, as I used them longer than this and reached a minimum of 10 battery. The carrying case is very high quality and has a convenient diagram that shows how to store them and holds an airplane accessory kit as well. If you are in the market for noise canceling, and are comfortable in this price range, dont look anywhere else, these are truly the best

Worst sound quality especially when compared to SONY XB950BT headphones purchased in 2016.The sound from WH1000XM3 is very unclear, the treble and bass both. This amplifies when using the wired 3.5mm jack. One would think that 4 40kHz frequency range that SONY promises, the headphones would deliver decent sound over a wired connection. Im not going to be using wireless mode all the time, whether I run out of battery when on the go or just would like to experience the full range of sound, but with this one, it sounds worst than a 3 earphones. No bass and no crisp clear high frequency. And why the hell should I need to use an app to tweak the settings Why cant it play decent out the box without the app settings like headphones from couple years ago used toThe XB950BT are still holding up as of today. The only reason I purchased WH1000XM3 is because the ear cups on the 950BT were getting old. Never have I made such a horrible headphone purchase. The only reason this headphones are getting a good review imo is because SONY is pushing for them. The only decent thing is the audio quality over a phone which can be achieved with far cheaper headphones or earbuds. Id like to give a 10 negative 10 rating if possible.Returning within one day.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about these headphones.I am ummed and ahhed about buying them for ages but my word am I glad I did. When my VModa cans were on their last legs, I spent several months researching the best wireless pair available that would allow me not only to listen to music on the go at the highest possible quality but also block out noise when I needed to work and also properlymake and receive calls. The Sony WH1000XM3s do all of that and then some. They are super comfortable with the thick padding meaning the weighted sensation disappears quickly whilst the adjustable band means they can fit even the biggest melons I have a mahooosive head. The touch controls are brilliant too and the wireless range is way more than youd ever really need. But it is the quality of sound, particularly when Noise Cancelling mode is active, which is out of this world.Brilliant across the whole range of deep bass to high treble, with a warmth to it that lets you properly escape.Theyre fantastic all rounders but more genuinely, the best headphones you can buy without spending a ridiculous amount of money.PS the silver colour is slick and a bit different.

Initially I was expecting that they will just completely shut off all the noise but they dont. You can still hear stuff around you and voices are still there as well. In the beginning, they also made me a bit dizzy because of the air pressure change when noise cancelling is turned on. But after a couple of weeks of usage, I became more comfortable with them and feel that my concentration has improved considerably while working.Note that while on a call I tried skype call the noise cancellation doesnt seem to work for the person on the other end and they also here a lot of surrounding noise, so they are not good for calling. The music sound quality also seems to be much better when connected to my phone Galaxy S8 as compared to my laptop Dell inspiron.I bought these on Black friday sale. I dont if I would buy them on their nonsale price. But I am happy with the purchase and will keep using these.

Pros Excellent noise cancellation feature and the sound quality is brilliant. I can wear the headphones for hours without any discomfort. The charge also lasts for a long time, I use them for hours at a time and it takes days before I need to recharge them.Cons One personal improvement would be the ability to use the mic on PS4. You can connect the headphones to the controller with the wire that come with the headphones and the sound is great but the built in mic doesnt work for some reason. However you can get around this by buying a cheap boom mic which you can connect to the headphones and the controller.

First, these headphones do not create air pressure within your ears and do not put pressure on your ears. I am super picky, and have been using bose headphones for years. However, bose sure has some competition with these. The palm three fingers work over the right ear to immediately feed in outside sound and lower the music volume is an insane feature. You will use this feature way more than you think and you will not know how you used headphones before without it. Ambient sound control is amazing for instances where you need to hear yourself speak, touch controls are easy to get used to but hard at first, super super super comfy. I wear mine for 6 hours or so at a time at work and never feel the need to remove them. Youre reading this because you are contemplating buying these, stop contemplating and forget the QCs.

Pros My first headphones over GBP 50. Quality is excellent but I dont listen to much music these days. Bought these for travel, office and audiobooks. Mainly noise cancelling when surrounded by strimmers, lawn mowers and hedge trimmers. Plus long air travel. Noise cancelling is excellent like magic. I havent found much use for the app.Cons Still trying to work out if the blue tooth turns off when plugged in to jack. I think it does This way I can have the sound cancelling but still pick up calls and use the ambient feature in the office without a transmitter pulsing. Dont know why the charge cable has to be so short, literally 3 which means having put the phones on a box to charge at the wall socket.

After having issues with several pairs of JBL headphones, I decided that I wouldnt settle for anything but the best. These headphones are well worth the price and are everything I expected and more I am no audiophile, but in my opinion the sound quality is absolutely incredible The touch controls also work good and the battery life is unbeatable. The noisecanceling is amazing as it blocks out nearly everything even the clanging of pots and pans as I am doing dishes. The only complaint I have with these is a slight discomfort at the top of my head from the headband after wearing these for a long period of time. However, this may just be because of the shape of my head, after all, there is plenty of padding on the underside of the headband. Other than this, I have no complaints. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a pair of premium noisecanceling headphones

Ive had these Headphones for over a Year.I bought the Bose QuietComfort35 Series, originally. The Audio quality of the Bose is substandard compared to these. The Sony App allows for a user to mix the music and change the dynamics to each users desire. The Sound Quality is amazing and totally cancels out Open Office Noise. If theres a downfall to these is if you get a Phone Call and you use these in a very busy area. The other caller will hear some background noise that is being cancelled for you.Overall, I bought these headphones for my Wife as well and she absolutely loves them too. When the next generation Sony Headphones get released, I hope they are step up from these so we can upgrade but theres not much room to go up from here

Purchased these 7192019. On 7242020, the swivel point on the left ear up broke, rendering the headphones unusable. Contacted Sony for an authorized repair center, and was provided contact information for their only factory authorized center in the U.S. Sent them in, and was quoted 198.00 to replace a simple piece of plastic that forms a ball and socket type swivel connection. This piece of plastic probably costs less than 5.00 to make, yet apparently the entire headband needs to get replaced. Electronically, there is absolutely nothing wrong with my headphones, and I really enjoyed both the NC and the sound quality of them. However, when I can now purchase a new pair of these for about 50 bucks more, I find the repair cost unacceptable. Combined with the fact that they broke about a week after the 1 year warranty expired, and I will most likely never purchase another Sony product. Thats a shame, as like I said, I really really loved the sound of these headphones.

Very comfortable, even while wearing for extended timeframes. I wouldnt classify myself as an audiophile, but I do appreciate the sound quality of these. They pair easily to my mac and phone. The battery life has been as advertised. The noise cancelling is pretty good. Half star off because for two reasons. It doesnt cancel all noise, just most, and the one button for Google Assistant only works for Google Assistant if configured for it in the app. There is another function you can set that button to, but then that eliminates the ability to use the Google Assistant, so I found that a little odd. I could very well be misunderstanding the features and maybe had an unrealistic expectation for the noise cancelling since this is my first pair of headphones with that. All in all very very happy with my purchase. Loving them.

I have owned these headphones for the past two years and bought this pair for a friend who is now starting to travel. This model remains the toprated noisecancelling headphones in spite of newer versions. Aircraft engine noises are completely eliminated. When connected to my MP3 player for flights, the sound is impressive for both rock and classical music. Flying is now a very pleasant experience for me. Just touching my right earphone brings instant ambient noise and makes interaction with others possible without lifting an earphone. When I remove my touch, the ambient sounds are completely eliminated. Battery life is long and recharging is quick. I strongly recommend.

If your thinking about getting Active Sound Isolating Headphones for the first time, I recommend going to a Best Buy store and trying them out first. Why because everyone is different and over the ear headphone fit is a personal preference. That being said, for this type of headphone to work properly, they must fit properly and for your enjoyment, comfortably. I find these to be the best for me for every day use and for heavy sound environments. Earbuds or in the ear noise isolating can not compare to a good over the ear headphones.ProsGreat fit for me. covers my ears without crushing them. if in a warm environment they will cause your ears to sweat but that will happen with any over the ear type and for good sound isolation you cannot use a velour ear cushion because of the dynamics. Music quality is the best you can get with bluetooth connection. I have not tried the wired connection yet. For sound isolation and noise canceling let me just say Sony has set the mark. I have 3 different sound isolating head sets or ear buds and these are the best I have. other than the one major Con, I find myself using them for just about everything, even while eating at a restaurant. With the Sony app I can adjust what I want to hear, voices, outside music, traffic. The touch controls for music take a little getting use to but work great. Another great feature, cover the right earphone and your music sound level drops and the sound isolation drops so you can talk or hear someone, remove your hand and back to the music. Battery life, I have worn them for almost 8 hours stretch and only drop them to just 80 pecent battery life.ConBiggest con, call answering quality. You sound like your in a tunnel or really bad connection. For all the great features, this just doesnt match up. might be my phone, Galaxy S8, but none of my other headphones or earbuds have such poor quality for phone call voice. Another possible con, this headphone is not water resistant. I have not had any problems but Sony warns you not to let them get any moisture at all. For headphones that their main purpose is sound isolation you would expect them to be able to withstand possible light rain or high humidity but Sony warns you away from any contact with water including sweat.Overall, I am glad I spent the money to get these.

These are by far the best and still to this date optimal noise canceling headphones I have ever bought. The noise canceling activates as soon as you turn them on and connects to your phone, everything else is silent. Music quality is perfect, nice bass and overall amazing voice assistant along with call quality. For the price point at which they are at, yes they are worth every penny. I was blown away by how good they were that I even bought myself the earphone version of these, and they are just as great. If you are a musicaudio guru these are headphones you would want to get, there is no better option. I have had friends recommend the bose and while those are amazing, these felt much better to me.

I was looking to replace my aging noisecanceling headset. I bought the Sony WH1000XM3 phew what a mouthful as well as two other headsets from wellrespected brands. Spoiler alert I kept the Sonys. What made me choose these Well, here are some reasons, which are not exclusive to Sonys but amounted to my final decision.First, they look great. They scream quality and sophistication in my opinion. From the black matte finish to the copper accents, these cans look very luxurious. They are also very sturdy so far. They have some weight and the headband is very flexible. The hinges are smooth and there is no creaking as opposed to some other Sony headsets in the past. They charge through USBC with quick charge capabilities which are very convenient. They are supposed to keep a charge of about 30hrs which I have not tested as this has not become an issue. They come with a very nice protective case and fit snuggly. These headsets are very comfortable. The headband padding works well to minimize fatigue, although I did readjust them after a couple of hours. The cups have very soft pleather cushions that rest easily around my ears. They did get a bit hot after a while, but it was not a big deal. The pressure is enough to keep them in place while walking but not too tight to feel it on the temples. These headsets feature offon buttons as well as the ANCAmbient button which doubles as the voice assistance button. Other than that, it is all touch controls. One side deals with volume, playpause, forwardrewind and call answering. The other side activates voice assistants such as Alexa with app and if you cover the entire cup, turns on the ambientawareness feature. I did find that the controls are somewhat finicky and are not always responsive, which is a bummer. Also, I cannot understand why these are 4.2 Bluetooth instead of 5.0. I have not had many issues, except that the range is limited. These headsets also feature NFC connectivity. Or, you can use the supplied cable for wired listening which is great when I play the Switch during a flight. As far as sound, these are amazing. This is the best benefit as far as I am concerned and the main reason why I kept them. The bass is strong and punchy but not overpowering, the mids come through very clearly and the highs are distinct and loud without being piercing. They are exciting and enjoyable for any music, movie or game format. The noise cancellation is arguably the best of the sets I tested. There is little pressure when activated. This active noise cancellation takes the listening experience to a much higher level. You can always personalize the sound signature, ambient sound, and even do 360 sound through the Sony App but I found that I like the original settings. If Sony would focus on adding Bluetooth 5.0 or higher, tighten up touch controls or offer physical buttons, and perhaps offer a better price, these would be the undisputed champs in traveling headsets. Even with all its shortcomings, the Sony WH1000XM3 was the option for me.

These headphones are very good, and ANC is out of this world except when I would have ANC on, high volume, and some heavy bass going. These would rattle like crazy. ANC off on the other hand i wouldnt run into any problems. It was very disappointing to have the leading competitor in noise cancelling be the very feature causing such a major problem for me. Exchanged them for the Bose QC 35 2. Havent run into any problems so far, not quite sounding as good as the 1000s very minuscule difference personal reference but they are the 2nd go to for leading ANC and sound performance. The reviews on both headphones say everything. I just hope this set is a factory default and not a design default, more competition means better products for us consumers. I will be waiting for the xm4s to see what sony has to put on the table.

I bought these headphones to replace my wired Marshall headphones because those headphones would get uncomfortable after awhile. Dont get me wrong, those headphones are still awesome sounding and have a sleek look conforming to your head really well. But I got tired of dealing with the uncomfortable feeling on my ears that I would get so I finally decided to look out for good set of wirelesswired headphones that would be comfortable after awhile. These are definitely a winner in that department for sure I also love that these headphones come with an app that allows you to control various settings including the noise cancelling affects and an Equalizer, which is awesome when you are listening to HiFi music considering HiFi music apps dont have their own EQ control. Additionally, if you use Tidal for streaming HiFi music, then you definitely want to get these for sure because you can actually setup these headphones with the Tidal app to play music more efficiently and effectively for you to get the most out of your moneyI have no regrets buying these headphones and if you are considering Beats, unless you really want style, Id go with these instead. I feel like these definitely sound better by far and have a cleaner and more well rounded out sound compared to Beats. I highly recommend these headphones and if I were you, I would stop searching and pick these up now if you can afford them. If you cant afford these, the headphones one step down from these sound almost just as good

I recently bought a pair of Bose QC35 wireless, series 1 headphones. Dont get me wrong, they were great but for whatever reason, they werent as good as I was hoping they would be. Im not sure if this was due to them being factory refurbished bought through the Bose website so Bose themselves signed off on them or if they just were that disappointing. So, I ended up going to my local Best Buy and trying, one after the other, the WH1000XM3 and Bose QC35 Series 2 exactly the same specs as my Series 1 except with a dedicated assistant button on the side, so completely unrelated to this test although I didnt think I would use the assistant all that much but I will say that I actually use it all the time and its great to have, but I regress. I was blown away on how much better the Sonys sounded. They Sonys have a much fuller sound, the bass is not completely overblown but much more pronounced than the Bose. It just has a better, richer sound. There are parts of songs that dont come through on the Bose headphones but are available when listening through the Sony. I will say, these are most definitely audiophile level headphones but true audiophiles will most likely say that they are most certainly on the lowest end of audiophile level but the average listener wont everbe able to tell the difference and regardless, anyone would be thrilled to have these as their daily driver headphones. The noise cancellation alone was far superior on the Sony WH1000XM3. The only thing that is slightly better with the Bose is the incall quality. I was told by multiple people that I sounded better during a call when I used the Bose vs. the Sony, however, the Sonys definitely sounded just okay as they would be good enough if I werent taking business calls or if I wasnt in a super windyloud environment. They got the job done better than most alternative wireless headphones for the price. The Bose are just really good at call quality as, for the money, theyre currently the best option. So if you take a lot of phone calls for work or such, go with the Bose, you wont be disappointed but just realize that there isnt really much of a debate that if you want music quality, the Sonys are your best bet. They both fit snug and didnt feel at all cheap or heavy on my ears. In fact, they feel so good, I sometimes forget Im even wearing them which is super trippy walking around downtown with the noise cancellation and just rocking out. They both feel different on the head and with the fit but honestly I really couldnt tell which ones I liked more. They both hada superb fit. All in all, it has been one of the best purchases I have ever had. My only real gripe is the fact that they are not waterproof or even water resistant for that matter. So I cant wear them in the rain or working out not that I would, anyways. If you have the money, I say go for it.

Quick response and fast delivery from addicted to audio. A good experience listening to music with these headphones and has good noise cancelling as well. The noise cancelling can get some getting used to as I felt like their was pressure like on a plane but it got better. Would sometimes take off my headphones and put them back on to see how much noise is cancelled out, and it cancels out some sounds pretty well with music on. Music can be a little muffled without any settings, but I used the sony headphones app and the bright equaliser setting works well for clearer sound. Can get uncomfortable after a while as it gets warm. Good battery life. Nice hard case to protect headphones whilst travelling and has usb c to quickly charge the headphones. Touch controls can get some getting used to but I rarely use it. Overall, a good experience.

The sound on these is absolutely fantastic. Big, clear, and layered. I had high expectations, and was still impressed The ears are comfortable for long wearing. The app is mostly easy, and sound is nicely customizable. I have been skeptical of Bluetooth technology in regards to sound, but Sony really knows what theyre doing here. The noise cancelling is surprisingly great, another thing Ive been skeptical on. I am so glad I went with theseThat said, however, I do have some complaints. The reasons why this isnt 5 stars1. Theyre too big for my head, so if I look down, they slip. This is the only place Beats does better. Beats fit my head perfectly.2. The touch buttons on the ear are either so sensitive Im doing things I dont want, or I have to taptap taptap TAPTAP to get it to pause. I once somehow made an audio facetime call to someone in my contacts that Ive never actually interacted with before just from taking the headphones off. Yet when I want to pause when getting on the bus, I have to taptap four or five times. Sometimes I just give up and use the pause on my phone. I think Id prefer actual buttons as this technology clearly still needs improving.3. It says you can charge it for 10 minutes and get 5 hours of battery, but I dont get that. I have to charge it for quite awhile to get anything worthwhile The cord is fine, as is the port I draw power from4. Making a call using them still needs a lot of work. The sound is fantastic for me, of course, but the mic is terrible. The person on the other end hated it and told me to never call using these headphones again. My god, but I LOVE the sound on these, though.Im coming from using Beats for a few months to these, and you can barely compare them. I almost feel guilty trying to sell my Beats because these are just SO much better.

Wow These are amazing I bouth 4 other headphones before it and returned all of them unsatisfied. I also did alot of research, and these i es came out on top, even ahead of Boses similar price headphones. These are by far the best headphones you can buy under 400. Im an HFAutistic with variable sound sensitivity, but I still like to listen loud and bumpin sometimes. These brilliant headphones allow me to, and are turning me into an audiophile. All sound quality is pretty good comparably, but what throws it way over the satisfaction edge is the ability to adjust sound specifics on its app And its not even just a couple adjustment possibilities, but theres so many components you can fit to your specific audio and song satisfaction. I havent had the best of luck with the touch pad controls for volume and pauseskipnext, including unpausing, but sometimes it has to do with me being too high to realize which way is what or where the center is.Anyways, its sound quality and adjustment options well makes up for it. I cant believe other headphones havent incorporated or maybe advertized more for this brilliant option affect

This is the second pair I have purchased from Pricelulu. These are the best NCHs you can buy imho. I was so impressed with these headphones that I bought another pair for my partner. These noise cancelling wireless headphones are undoubtedly the best I have heard, they make more expensive brand headphones sound nothing special at all. They are packed with features, that are a must have and all operated from the ear cup outer pad.The Sonys are very lightweight and comfortable to wear for long periods. They are built from quality materials which you can feel as soon as you pick them up. The carry case is stylish and also well made. There are plenty of test reviews on youtube so you dont have to take my word about these headphones. they are the best. There is a Sony headphones app, that allows you to interact with the headphones is also superb with so many sound parameters on it, you will always find the right sound for the mood. The headphones are easily paired to the headphones app and any bluetooth enabled device.Best product I have purchased for years and also a fantastic price now.

I really wanted something to cancel out neighbour noise and other noises around the house while I work from home. I cannot fault these headphones for their noise cancelling properties. Everything else kind of sucks but I still think they were worth the money 235 at the time just for the amazing NC.Ive been using them for a few hours each day, often with nothing playing and just the NC on. Some audiobooks and music, the quality is okay, no complaints but not a patch on cheaper wired headphones Ive had in the past from Sennheiser and AKG.Very comfortable if a little hot.I hate the app, the fact I have to repair them when switching between phone and laptop and the touch controls arent that great.I wouldnt want to do without them now though.I also tried the Bose QC II for a few days and these are a lot better, the bluetooth seems to stay connected more reliably and they sound nicer, plus these have the ambient sound mode which is a big plus as they play sound in from their NC microphones, so if you need to listen for the doorbell or outside sounds then you can.

Ive never thought about owning a set of OvertheEar Headphones. Just never saw the point. A friend of mine got a set of these on sale and was raving about them for their noise cancelling abilities and the sound quality of the music. So, with a upcoming flight to Mexico approaching, I decided to buy these to help with the long flight. The reviews for this unit are excellent and the sale price for the M3 vs the M4 made up my mind. So, with two weeks into my purchase Im ecstatic with these. They are comfortable and the noise cancelling ability is incredible. I cannot recommend this set of headphones enough. Well worth the money, especially when they are on sale…

I was debating for a long time between these and the new bose 700s. I have owned these headphones for about a month now and have thoroughly enjoyed using them. The battery life has been fantastic and I have very few complaints if any. I went with these over the bose 700s because of their better base quality. I listen to all music but I enjoy the deeper bass these have over the bose. Not to mention theyre about 100 cheaper right now.The sound cancellation is wonderful and they fit very comfortably. They fold nicely and feel sturdy enough despite being mainly plastic. My only gripes would be that the touch controls can be a bit finicky and they can get a bit warm on my ears from the plush leather cups. However in all fairness this is after wearing them for an hour or two more and it would be difficult to find anything over the ear that wouldnt feel a bit warm after long use.I highly suggest grabbing these especially after the price decrease over the bose 700s despite my high opinion of the competition. You really feel like you get a bang for your buck.

I purchased these for my wife who was traveling around the world. She absolutely fell in love with these the moment she put them on in the airplane. She said she didnt even have to turn them on and the sound was already cut down enough that she could sleep. When she turned them on she said she was in heaven. We planned on purchasing a pair of noise canceling headphones for years for when we travel but didnt want to pay the high prices. I finally broke down and bought her a pair of Sony WH1000xm3s after testing several brands and models. In the end it was a toss between Bose and Sony, both are excellent, but we thought Sony had slightly better noise cancelling, a nice caseammenities and overall better features, including the app so you can customize the sound to you. Both were great choices though. She just wished Sony had other colors…like pink, lol. After playing with them myself Ill be getting myself a pair at the next sale or trip. When you fly as much as we do you quickly learn that Silence is Golden.

I treated myself to this headset after many hours of lockdown conference calls using another product that had been fine for less intense use but that I now find increasingly uncomfortable. My main use of the headset is for conference calls often lasting upwards of an hour I needed something comfortable with good sound and microphone. I also wanted something that would reignite my love of music and help me enjoy my collection once againI was a little nervous spending this much on a headset but having used them for two weeks Ive no regrets.First impressions are good high quality packaging and I loved the rugged supplied case holding the headset, charging cable, flight adapter and wired headset cable. For most purposes I think this case would be great for secure storage and travelling. At first glance the instructions look a little underwhelming, mainly consisting of a single large sheet with pictorial guidance and a few pages of technical information duplicated in LOTS of languages. However, the information was clear and I was able to wirelessly connect to two Windows laptops and an Apple smartphone without problem and within a matter of minutes. The synthesised voice made me smile among other things, advising of power onoff, bluetooth pairing and, usefully, giving an indication of the percentage of battery charge left at the push of a buttonThe build quality of the headset itself is impressive. They feel robust and look great mine in black with subtle copper highlights. The headset is certainly not as heavy as its solid build quality implies and I have been able to wear it comfortably for several hours at a time. The headband has plenty of adjustment and is well padded across the top of the head and over the ears.So how does it perform Brilliantly As I noted above, wireless connectivity was simple to set up and within minutes I was listening to some familiar tracks with awe, noticing or at least recalling the presence of subtleties in the sound that I had lost completely by using PC speakers for so many years. The soundscape and range is genuinely impressive.I am fortunate enough to work in a quiet area so wasnt too bothered about the noise cancelling feature but as it is enabled by default I used it and am amazed by how effective it is Cuts out just about everything from the neighbours lawnmower through to the noise of my phone ringing I also love the ability to just cup my hand over the right speaker case to cut the volume and enable ambient sound in to let me converse without removing the headset. I have also found I quickly got used to the swipe controls on the headset to adjust volume a little fiddly at first but it avoids extra buttons or dials on the headset that would detract in my eyes from its appearance.A great deal of the time I spend using the headset is on conference calls and once again I cannot fault them for this purpose. As you would expect, the sound quality is good and those that I have asked all say that they can hear me very clearly. Cannot ask for moreFinally, battery life. Seems to be excellent despite heavy use many hours a day I am getting an easy full week of use out of a charge.Recommended YES

I love these headphones, you should buy them if you want superior noise canceling and high quality sound at the same time. My only complaint is that you cannot pair more than one bluetooth source at the same time, unlike bose soundtouch headphones which I had gotten used to being able to both have paired with my phone AND my smart tv for easy accessease of switching back and forth. The other downside is that the app only works if your headphones are paired to your phone. So in other words if you are paired to your smart tv then you cant use the iPhone app to customize any settings. Youre left with the three options of noise canceling, ambient sound control, or ambient control off mode. The last thing I will say too is that the google assistant mode overlaps with the button that controls noise canceling modes so if you want to change anything while also having google assistant turned on then youre stuck with having to only use the phone pairingphone app.

If youve been thinking about splashing out on these for a while, all I can say is GO FOR IT I love music, but have never had particularly great headphones. I decided I needed an upgrade, and having seen how well these ones are rated on Which I decided to go for these, and I dont regret it at all They are incredible. I love how adaptive they are. My favourite thing about them is being able to change how much Ambient Sound you can hear from the outside world. Ive been wearing them pretty much constantly, other than when Im at work. Compared to other headphones, for the quality and the adaptivity of these the price certainly isnt unfair, but theyre obviously not cheap. However I dont think youd regret it once you head how amazing they are. Buy some, you wont regret it

Long story short, I got this one, my wife got a Beats Studio 3. I tried her out after using my Sony. Im glad I didnt get the Beats. Now for more details…Sony WH1000XM3 vs Beats Studio 3 Comfort Sonys cups are more comfortable, with softer material and can fit my entire ear inside each one easily. The Beats couldnt. ANC After having gotten to Sonys ANC for a few months, then trying out Beats, I thought the ANC on Beats was initially turned off. It wasnt… Sound quality Sonys seems to be more crisp and clear in details. Beats probaby have a stronger bass. If you prefer slower, lighter music, the Sony is hands down the better one. If you prefer more bangs in your music and would be willing to give up some details for it, then the Beats might be better. The Beats headband is metal, so seems a lot more sturdier than Sonys. This is my major concern for Sonys, but mine havent broken yet after 5 months….so may be the plastic is strong enough.

Out of the world experience.Added this to my Sony collection. XM3 is a great improvement from the XM2.Ive had the XM2 for more than 4 years now and still sounds brand new.XM2 is great at handling bass and eases anything heavy without any distortion. But the XM3 has surpassed that with ease. The clarity has improved with clear vocals too.Just mind blowing to see how better these can get every time and Sony has worked very hard this time too with ease of use, better build too with staying over the ears better and with weight. The sony headphones app is a major advantage to improve the quality of sound.Takes down the Bose and the Beats in side by side comparison.Proud to own another Sony product.

These are the best headphones I have owned. Superb noisecanceling even in an airplane. The optimizer function helps out in any situation. This is the second pair I have purchased, and my son has the previous model which has also been great With current discounts, I would snatch these up, as the newest model reports only slight differences. The only downside for me is they hurt the top of my head if worn for long periods, but I do have a smaller head with limited ability to make further adjustments. I can reposition to remedy the situation.

This is my first pair of wireless headphones, and I am totally impressed. I have had Bose, Sennheiser and other top brand phones in the past and I can honestly say I didnt expect Sony to be anywhere close to the sound and quality build that these provide. I am using this on my Windows 10 Surface 4, no connectivity issues at all. I am running an equalizer at flat settings. I am so impressed by the quality and depth of sound. I was blown away by the Bass and the Volume. I love the noise cancellation feature, I cant believe how quiet these are I can stand right next to a noisy machine of any kind and I can barely hear it, even with no music playing. The wireless Bluetooth feature is the most impressionable. I love the freedom of being able to move anywhere in my house without having to deal with wires. I expected some dropout, but so far have not had any issues in that respect. The music plays and plays without skipping a beat. Also enjoy the gestures I can use to change volume, skip songs, and even mute. They are very comfortable, not too heavy. The ear cups fit snugly against the head, which may make your ears feel warm after lengthy wearing. Nice case to store them in as well. I am totally pleased with this purchase.

These really do sound amazing and feel good to wear for several hours at a time. I also love that the carrying case comes with a home for its various accessories and with a little mesh pocket on the front. The app offers the ability to change the sound, but I prefer on the Bose and Jabra apps that I can save presets. Sony tries to autodetect where you are, then change the preset… but working from home the way I do my primary modes are in meetings vs. listening to music so the ambient sound isnt telling the app anything useful. I also wish the app allowed easy access the touchcontrol manual. I keep accidentally changing a setting by touching the right earphone. XDI originally bought the Bose 700s and was surprised at how uncomfortable and sort of soulless the sound was. Regardless of my app feedback, Im SO glad I sent those back in exchange for these Definitely recommend.

The sound cancelling feature is awesome, the audio quality is superb, the build is decently sturdy and they are incredibly comfortable You can change settings to use sound cancelling or let ambient sound through at the press of a button. The big downfall though, is PC gaming, specifically they dont work with talking through Discord havent tried with other voice chat apps but I imagine theyd be similar and listening to game sounds at the same time. Theyll allow only one or the other sound channel through, not both. Ive tried using both with Bluetooth and with aux cord, but neither work. This does seem to be mostly specific to PCs though, it works fine through aux on my Macbook. My verdict if you aim to use these with your phone or even laptop to listen to music on the go, game or whatever, these headphones are incredible Ive even used them to mow the lawn and theyre great I would not buy this as a gaming PC headset however, because it suddenly becomes fidgety to set up and the operation is not quite as intended.

Originally purchased as a multi use tool for both music and gaming, but found out its connectivity and microphone are not as versatile. However, this does not take away from the quality and build of he headphones. The combination of noise cancellation and comfort means you can fall asleep with these headphones on.I would say the bass is not to my expectation but the mids and highs are excellent. As well, microphone quality is weaker than the competitors like the newer Microsoft surface headphones 2.Nonetheless love the product and visions had fantastic customer service and quick delivery of the product

These are great headphones, but Id be lying if I didnt say I am a bit disappointed, and thats simply because the headphones dont get as loud as I would like. I like to listen to my music very loud, it helps immerse me in the music, but I find myself steadily trying to turn up the volume thinking that I dont have it up to the max. Maybe thats a good thing, though, for the longevity of my ears. But, Im sure this wont be a problem to the average listener. Also, these headphones dont fit as snug when compared to my older Beats Studio headphones, which is also a good and bad thing. Bad, because I like to dance in my room at night, and if I whip my head too hard theyll go flying off. Good, because I can wear them forever and not feel any pain in my ears like with my Beats. These headphones are also very resilient, because in the instant that I did whip my head a lot too hard while dancing on my concrete floors, these headphones were left without a scratch after flying across the room.At times, I even use the noise cancellation without playing any music while reading or meditating. It helps to get rid of the little noises like central air running, space heaters, and outside noises. Its like being in my own silent world. I love it. The sound quality specifically bass, controls, and features are also very greatIll still be on the hunt for my perfect pair of loud headphones, but in the meantime, these will work wonderfully. Also, thank you for the great discount Rakuten At the time you saved me about 150

I did a fair bit of research before I bought these headphones. My wife has had a pair of Bose QC35s for about 5 years so I had some experience with noise cancelling headphones. And the Bose are so good there was a high standard to live up to.The big question why go for these and not another pair of BoseThe extra tech in these is one reason. I like the NFC connection to android phones and the adjustable noise cancellation I was taken in by Ambient NC but actually turned it off pretty quickly. I liked the idea of the swipe and tap controls too and Im sure once I get used to them theyll be second nature although still feels a bit fiddly for now.Another reason was price. These were 50 cheaper than the Bose at the time of buying and well over 100 less than the newer Sony XM4s.So, am I happyYes, I think so. Objectively Id say that these suit music listening more than conversations or audio books, although if you havent got a second pair of of tremendously high quality cans to compare them to youll probably just think theyre amazing. And they are. At the current price, theyre a bargain. Get em.
supercuervosuperman –
I found this item nearly 100 cheaper than anywhere else i looked. Excellent quality cans with unbeatable noise canceling. Ive never owned a more comfortable, easy to wear, or better sounding set of headphones. Period. My two small gripes are that the cups around the ears make me way too hot, and the large cups make it awkward to wear around the neck. Take it with a grain of salt since I run hot and I live in a hot climate. But in the summer these cans heat me up too much and I sweat a lot. As for the size, yes theyre comfortable but only when theyre on. When you have to take them down around the neck theyre so big it makes it awkward. Like I said, very small complaints and ones Im not entirely sure would be resolved by another brand. Overall theyre amazing quality and I would wholeheartedly recommend.

Im not an audiophile by any means, so take that for what its worth. I love these. Im still getting used to the hand motions and sometimes hit them on accident, but that is the only con. Havent used the google assistant setup because I like being able to turn on ambient sound with that button, which I frequently do. I usually use them in a pretty averagely noisy environment and even with ambient sound turned on, I dont hear much, which is perfect because I like to hear my background but I also like to hear it less. Noise cancelling is amazing, too, exactly what it says on the tin. Due to covid I havent really tried them in noisy public places but I imagine theyd be useful. And theyre comfortable to wear for hours.Whats really awesome, though, is the battery. I like that I can set them aside for a few days and theyll be exactly the same battery percentage I left them with. While theyre on, theyll definitely drain but not nearly as much as other bluetooth products. When theyre idle, they turn off. Super handy.I tend to like bassy sound, so I was going to get the previous version, but these were on sale. But i find im more pleased with these ones the sound is very clear and I ended up liking that better. I dont have much to compare the sound to because I use sony earbuds as well so theyre not MUCH better than other sony products. But theyre not worse than, which is more important imo. And earbuds arent noisecanceling. Also these are great recording headphones, and great for phonecalls. If youre like me and you usually find headphones for phonecalls to be too much, these are nice, not too loud and doesnt feel like youre hearing your phonecall in your head. All in all, very satisfied Very worth it and Im happy I bought them.

Pros I use these headphones with a blue tooth adaptor to watch TV and it works really well. There is a bit of lag on lip sync, but I read a lot of reviews prior to purchase and understand that this is to be expected with any blue tooth product. The sound is fantastic and product comfortable on my head.Cons I find it difficult to use the volume control, as you have to tap on the side of the right ear piece and I keep accidentally turning off the sound, as this control is in the same area. Considering the high price the plug in cable that is provided is way too short, I know the main feature is blue tooth, but I would like the cable option, as lip sync is not lost when watching TV. Also the charging cable is very short.

These headphones are awesome. The noise cancelling technology works really good. The phone phones are comfortable and very nice looking. The headphones works with a Sony app that pairs pretty good with the headphones. I really enjoy using the headphones but there are some downfalls. The ambient sound transfer is a little annoying. When youre walking and the headphones transfer to another setting like running, it makes a noise to let you know that the setting changed. I have not find a way to cut the transfer noise off. You can cut off the ambient transfer setting off if needed. The headphones leather ear cups can be a little annoying in the heat but that is normal with leather style headphones. The buttonless controls can take some getting used to. This is an option you can cut off too.

My only gripe with these headphones is that they do not bluetooth connect to my computer or my iPad. I do like the fact that you can use the cord to plug into any device with a headphone jack and you dont have to turn use the battery on the headphones. The sound is amazing and the headphone app for the iPhone lets you take photos of your ears so the sound is adjusted just for your ears. They are comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I have worn them on walks with my dog and my ears did not get too hot. I have not tried heavy exercise with them on yet. I usually wear my air pods for running or something strenuous. They cut out a lot of noise even without the extra noise cancelling function. They have calmed me during anxious episodes so I would reccomend them for them that.

Simply put these are the best headphones Ive ever used in my entire life. Each time I put them on feels like a premium experience. Connecting to them is a breeze, plus, nearly everything about their sound can be customized using the excellent Headphones app.The noise cancellation is seriously unbelievable. To test it, I started up my washer and dryer, sat down next to them, and then when I put on these and played music I couldnt hear anything but the music. Its absolutely insane. But if that worries you dont worry. Thats only for if youre not moving, sitting still. Sonys builtin Adaptive Sound Control is phenomenal. It can sense that Im say, walking down the street, and automatically adjust the audio so that I can still be alert and responsive to any outside noises. I dont know how its so good, but they absolutely nailed it.I dont think Ill ever need any other headphones.Sure, I wouldnt ever use these working out, or doing something like that, but these headphones arent made for that. You dont get 300 headphones to go to the gym. You get them to experience the best sounding headphones of all time. And these, are just that.

I really like these headphones. I have big ears and I have bought and returned several headphones because they just hurt my ears. These do take a little getting use to, but the first time I put them on I noticed a huge difference in how they felt on my ears, and I was able to wear them for about 4 hours without taking them off before my ears became a little uncomfortable. This is what I mean about taking a little while to get use to. Now I can wear them all day and they dont bother my ears. They are very well made and I noticed the sound difference right away. They sound awesome. Ive always been cheap and went through many headphones that claim to be just as good but these blow them right out of the water I picked up mine for about 225 which was a huge pill to swallow, but I think they were worth it.

In general is a good pair of headphones, with a flat sound which I really appreciate. I miss some low lows and high highs.. certainly that 6hz are not reproduced, not even before 20hz. The build quality is good, they are solid. The body is made from soft plastic which looks nice but is really easy to leave a mark there if you have oily hands. The main problem for me is that they start to be uncomfortable for me after just a couple of hours wearing them, and I need to loose a bit the fit as they start to hurt me on top of my head. It has a nice battery life and the noise cancelation is really nice, very useful for office usage.

These headphones lives up to their reputation. The noisecancelling is out of this world. The app has geofencing meaning that you can apply adaptive sound control based on your location and also depending on your current activity walking, running, standing or in public transportation. The sound quality is second to none. The bass is rich, the mids are balanced and the highs are clear. If you find the balance of bass, mid and high frequency not to your taste you can adjust it using the Sony app. There is also a DAC that is separate from the NC circuitry that upsample the audio input. On iOS you can use either the SBC or AAC codec. Android can use all of the above LDAC codec. It is the best pair of headphones I ever bought. Keep in mind that the WH1000 XM4 will lose the ability to send music using the LDAC codec but will be able to pair to 2 gadgets at once. The XM3s do not have multipoint Bluetooth. But it remember all paired peripherals so you turn off Bluetooth on the current paired device and turn on Bluetooth on the device you want to use.

Absolutely amazing over the ear headphones. Long battery life, so comfortable, and the sound is stellar. They lean neutral but have a slightly pronounced bass at their default setting, though with Sonys appsoftware you can customize the sound profile to your liking. Gesture control is excellent, I love being able to briefly pause the noise canceling by placing my hand on the right cup or adjusting the settings with a couple of taps. And it even has an AUX cable so you can set it to a wired connection if desired. in the wired form it sounds a lot like my MDR headphones, so extra neutral and more like studio monitors. these are well worth the price

These headphone blew me away. I also have a pair of Bose comfort NC headphones that are good, but not as good as these. For the same price you get NFC compatibility which easily allows you to pair you phone with the headset just by tapping it. You also get a cool feature where you cover the right ear and you can hear someone talking to you. This comes in handy when you dont want to take off your headphones to talk to someone or to hear something in the background. Their is also a compatibility app that gives you lots of options and you can tweek it to your style. The touch controls on the headphones are a bit tricky and get some getting used to, but once you get that down you will actually like it. The headphones themselves are very comfortable I use them when I am in the library for a few hours and also on the plane. The NC does a good job of blocking out different levels of background noise. Build quality is solid and the case it comes in fits everything you need. Overall a great pair of NC and I totally recommend you get them.

I can confidently state my suspicions that these beautiful ear sound inducers were forged in Mount Doom to be the one pair of ear muffs to rule them all. Forged by Saurony himself to enable the User to travel to an alternate dimension of quiet, and delete all other inhabitants of Middle Earth from existence once the Wearer switches them on. With a little tuning, they will sound punchy and crystal clear greater than any competitors and will quickly send all enemies tumbling to the underworld within moments. The Wearer will be infused with confidence over all others as they stride about, superior to the clans of Bose and Sennheiser and all the other pathetic underlings. Furthermore, though the top of the headband could be improved with a little more padding, the comfort level of these are superior to even the Plantronics Backbeat Pro, which are drowned in foam, as they cause no pain to the outside of the ears due to them sitting entirely over the ears and therefore not putting any stress on the cartilage. However, after long periods of use, the muffs can cause a small layer of sweat to build up where the cups meet the head. It would be nice if there was an clicking activator button dedicated to the Google Assistant Of Google or the Alexa Of Amazon rather than having to remapthe the clicking activator for the toggling of the Environmental Removal Tool also known as Noise Cancelling. The app is as great as the Grey… Wait, no White Wizard they call something beginning with G, and though it is on the tip of my tongue I cannot remember quite what his name was. Anyway, the battery life is excellent and so is the scabbard they call the carry case, which is well made and has an impressively satisfying zip. However the cable included for charging and the aux cable seem a little cheap. The design of the muffs is impressive and stylish and overall these are basically perfect, thanks Sony. Bit on the pricey side though.

I purchased these items a couple of weeks ago now. These are the first set of headphone I have purchased or used for many years and was unsure what I would be getting.Fit. The headphones fit quite well and are comfortable to wear. On a couple of occasions I have used them for a couple of hours with no fatigue.Sound They do seem to be bass rich and this took a while to get use too. I tend to use my hifi with no tone setting at all. The sound is quite detailed and there are things I have heard on tracks that I have not picked up on before. I did think at first the sound was a little boxy but after using them with other devices the sound was much better.I have used these with Bluetooth and cable and both sound very good.I would have liked the headphone to be supplied with a charger, but I used my phone charger in the end. The USB cable is very very short and practically useless. The audio cable is also a little short for using with my hifi so i soon purchased a longer cable. The carrystorage case seems quite robust.Battery life is good at 30 hours. So all in all a good purchase and would defiantly recommend them.

I will start by saying that I really, REALLY wanted to LOVE these.Very cool design and comfortable to wear. The noise cancelling and sound is great.Negatives.Every single time I got an alert, email, notification on my phone there would be a momentary pause to whatever I was listening to and a chime, tried everything and I could not turn this off.The touch functions on the ear cup wouldnt always work so I had to use my phone to restart music after pausing. Putting my hand up to the ear cup to make the music quiet worked once in ten attempts. Lots of potential nice features but sadly they didnt work for me.They may have been a faulty pair or my finger trouble but using these was driving me mad.Sadly returned for a refund, real shame after reading so many positive reviews.

First Ill say that I dont think this is a bad product. But there is a combination of factors that wont let me recommend it to anyone that I know. The first is the touch pad on the ear cups, it couldnt work for me, I was always just missing something by a little, and Im coming from my little Samsung Earbuds that have a similar touch system in place and that one works flawlessly, but after over a week with the Dont it couldnt work. And also I dont want you to think that I dislike Sony as a brand or Im just a hater I have had the Sony XB950, and actually I own the WHCH700Ncurrently I own 4 pairs of headphones, and I love all of those. So thats why I bought this headphones because Sony makes great stuff. Granted the sound coming out of this headphones is not bad at all its pretty decent, but barely better than my now 2 years old WHCH700N, and this is the big problem here the physical buttons on the WHCH700N always work, for less than a third of the price, granted the noise cancellation in the WH1000XM3 its really good, blows anything out of the water, but again at that price, it better does.Let me wrap it up in a few cons and prosProsDecent sound. Great ANC.Nice carrying bag.Cons The touch functions are a nightmare to use. You will be annoyed by itlistening to anything, specially music should be an enjoyment not about pressing the earcup over and over and over and over They get super greasy easily and will pick up any dirt in your hands. The ear cushions are not so comfortable, I found myself annoyed by them after 30 minutes or so. The price tag is too premium for a pretty decent pair of headphones that would be better in the high hundreds the same goes for the Bose quiet comfort II.As a background for me I have work as Sound engineer for house of prayers and 1000 people venues and I currently own, three pairs of Sony headphones, some Shure headphones and Beyerdynamic as well. So Im not trying to down talk a great brand like Sony but put a little perspective to on my expectations when a brand asks me 300 for a pair of headphones.

Great headphones for a great price. I got my secondhand and apart from one issue that I fixed after a day, it has been working perfect so far. Noise cancelling is great on these headphones when playing music if youre not then obviously youll be able to hear outside noises still, but it still pretty noise cancelling. Audio quality is also very good, you wont get the whole soundstage as its a close back, but for consumers the audio is nothing to complain about. Theres also a auto ambient mode through the app that works surprisingly well for example, I took it to a trip to the city and then back home and it would turn on noise cancelling or turn it off based on if I was on the train or if I was walking. The one issue I did have was that there was a strong windlike sound coming from the left ear cup when using noise cancelling. This is apparently based on which environment youre in, and it was quite annoying for the few days of having the issue. This has subsided thankfully and now its back to normal. So to sum it up, while the naming of this product can be confusing for a lot of people, these are still great headphones that I dont regret buying.

The gear is not too bad, but I was surprised when I compared the sound with my old Beats by Dr. Dre Studio and realized the sound on Beats was even better and deeper. And the worse part, that the headphones do not support multiple Bluetooth connections, meaning if I want to switch sound between the laptop and phone, I have to turn off the headphones and connect them again to the device. And it does not always work, as it connects to the wrong device most of the time. I did not expect that from a flagman Sony product. Also, I found it funny that you cant connect them to PS4 through Bluetooth, neither can you use it as a gaming headset, since the Mic does not work with PS4. My guess is that they are trying to push their PS4 headsets, and want you to buy a separate headset for gaming. Really frustrating. Of course, I would not give it a 1star rating maybe its around 3, but I want to attract attention to these issues and reflect it in the overall rating of the headphones, which looks right now as a perfect choice.

Great sounding headphones, but disappointed by customer care, reliability and product experience.I am writing this review because this is my second pair of WH1000XM3s that are exhibiting the same issue as my previous faulty pair, which were replaced by Sony under its 1 yr warranty. Sony has refused to replace my second pair faulty of headphones. The issue is as followsI had recently made a complaint and attempted for warranty repairsreplacement related to a second pair of WH1000XM3Bs that are under my possession since the beginning of October of 2020. This pair was sent as a replacement for previous headphones which had an earpiece becoming faulty it was producing intermittent noise noticeable during noaudio playback idle and NC active while negatively impacting regular audio. The current NIB pair received from Sony as a replacement is also producing the same problem left ear piece is producing a continuous noise which is noticeable during noaudio playback idle and active NC. This noise negatively impacts overall listening the noise is causing noticeable fatigue on the eardrum overtime as there is an unequal noise distribution between the two ear pieces. There is a blog dedicated to this issue since there are many more experiencing the same problem. During the first issue, Sony acknowledged the problem and offered replacement. However, Sony refuses to offer any solution for the replacement headphones that are exhibiting the same problem. I am hoping that Sony customer care would read this and recall faulty headphones.

I have owned a slew of headphones over the years, and after a new job in an office setting I decided it was time for some of the noise cancelling variety. These have sound quality that easily matches my worn out 7506s, and the noise cancelling is simply magical. As many others have mentioned, really the only blemish on this otherwise impeccable product is the halfbaked touch sensitivity, though one particular feature is also a game changer. Being able to put your hand over the right side and amplify the surrounding noise i.e. if someone taps you on the shoulder you can put a hand over it and be able to hear them without removing them is fantastic.I have worn these probably 48hrs every day since I purchased them, and once the newly released XM4s drop in price I will absolutely be buying another pair. Truly one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Pros Noise cancelling is great Better than my Apple ear buds pro, and they are good I use these with my laptop for work not tried it with these headphones but suspect they are not really designed for after this looking at other reviewsNot total silence but my noisy neighbours really do disappear when I am wearing them small kids, dogs and loud conversationsPairing with my iPad was easy as was downloading the app. App pretty straightforward to get the sound settings you want.Battery life impressive, recharging as advertised.Sound quality very goodCalls made received via my iPad good quality sound mic speaker. I think it would be the same if I paired them directly with my iPhone.I find them very comfortable to wear for extended periods.Cons Only able to pair with one device at a time. Not an issue for me as I only use them in the home. I probably wouldnt use them outside.Ears can get a bit warm but not to the point that I would stop wearing them.I really havent got to grips with the touch controls on the ear padsbut then again, I havent really tried They are sensitive and its easy to accidentally summon Siri or pause stop what you are listening to.

In a noisy or distracting environment, the noice cancelling feature of these headphones is very helpful. Ive been using these for conference calls and they have been great. Im not sure what I sound like on the other end, but other people have said that I sound clear. I also have used these with several computers macOS and Windows and cellphone and switching between the systems has worked without problems. It is a pain to have to disconnect from one and reconnect to another, but it only takes a few seconds to make the switch. If you find these on sale, then I highly recommend them. Oh, and they come with a very nice case.

Bought these headphones to help with home schooling as we have two primary school age children who are both trying to study in the same kitchen. Overall I am very impressed with these headphones they are light, comfortable and they sound great. Have used them now with a PC, laptop and mobile phone. On reading the instructions, I was very surprised to notice that calling apps for smartphones and computers are not supported as none of the reviews I read had mentioned this and you would expect to be able to use these. We have now been using these headphones at home for about 3 weeks and they work fine with the calling apps on my home PC. After a firmware upgrade on the headphones and a reinstall of the calling apps on my mobile phone I have managed to get these headphones to work with these. However from reading some of the threads on the internet, if a user runs into difficulty the manufacturer will just advise that calling apps are not supported.I thought I would mention this as this is a significant limitation on what is otherwise an excellent product.

A Black Friday purchase to replace some wired Bose QC35s, I was worried 1 that wireless headphone quality wouldnt be as good as wired Bose and 2 that the Noise Cancelling wouldnt be as good as Bose. I can say that the NC is not quite as good as Bose IMO, but I mean that in the most minor way. Other than that, the quality is top notch and honestly, Id probably buy these over Bose again.I really like the NFC feature to easily connect devices, it does have a headphone jack when youre out of battery. Battery has been lasting me a full day of listening with a little juice left for the next day in the event I forgot to charge it. Love the USBC charging as I can use the same cable to charge my phone so its not an extra cable I am worrying about. The 3 levels of NC NC, Ambient, and no NC are great. Whenever I feel the pressure of NC from wearing it too long, I can switch them easily to Ambient mode or turn it off all the way, and that solves my problems. As Ive mentioned previously I think the NC is better on the Bose. I remember people would talk to me sometimes with Bose on and I never heard their voice. With these, I can hear them talking to me and can make out words. As far as NC on a plane, I cant say there was any major difference between the 2.The only downside to these things is that the microphone apparently doesnt pick up my voice well. Apparently sometimes my voice just drops out.
philljew –
Bottom line, these headphones sound great. Wireless connection is easy. Ive been able to connect an iPhone, Android, and Windows with no problem. The recharging cable is a standard USBC connector rather than some proprietary recharging cable. This is especially nice since the included recharging cable is less than 6 long and longer cables are readily available. The noise cancellation is excellent. There is a third noise cancellation mode called Ambient Sound. Ambient Sound cancels out noise except for voice. This allows the user to be able to hear important announcements like on a subway train or airplane. A standard 3.5mm audio cable is also included, but the plug at the headphones has a narrower body. Other 3.5mm audio cables will not fit these headphones. These headphones allows the use of the audio cable, Bluetooth turned off, and still have noise cancelling operational. Other wireless, noise cancelling headphones shut off noise cancellation if Bluetooth is shut off.

1. Excellent noise cancelling, at least compared to my now approximately 25 yearold noise cancelling headphones.2. Solid bluetooth signal. Supports AptX, AptX HD and LDACthe more common higher quality bluetooth codecs. Of course, bluetooth is a terrible connection itself, and simply using both wifi and bluetooth at the same time on your phone can cause interference and fallback to 660 LDAC or SBC.3. They sound terrible without EQ. Like gravelly mud. With EQ, theyre fine. If youre using your phone, make sure you use eg. USB Audio Player Pro with its morphit plugin or similar to EQ. If you EQ using Sonys app, it does it in the headphone, which can only do higher quality bluetooth codec or EQ at once. You will be stuck with SBC if you use Sonys app.4. Not really a drawback for me, but it can only connect to one bluetooth source at a time. The replacement model due out about now is said to allow two. Given that two signals will need to be internally digitally mixed, Im not sure thats a feature as it will tend to degrade the sound.5. Excellent 30h battery life, and quick to charge.6. Horrible UI. The headphones use touchpads on the sides of your ears. Even when it works, it means you have to tap loudly in your own ears. The two physical buttons power and noise cancellation work well.7. Reasonably comfortable to wear for extended periods. Certainly more comfortable than deep insertion inear monitors.Highly recommended. The excellent noise cancellation and battery life are standout features no other noisecancelling headphones can match. The other issues can be largely worked around.

Quality of the headphones are superb for buying them used. At most youll have a minor scratch that you can barely see unless you look extremely closely. The only problem with the headphones is that they have a very minor creaking sound on the headbands that doesnt necessarily affect your listening experience. It only makes the sound when taking the headphones off or putting them on. However, that is what youd expect from a product labeled as used, so no points off. You could fix it yourself if it bothers you so much.

Picked up a pair of these on the recommendation of several trusted friends. I use headphones for work, and wear them 68 hours a day, so comfort is a dealbreaker. I have been comparing them to a set of Bose QuietComfort 35 II, and an older Plantronics set. I have larger ears than average, and the Sony earcups push on the top of my ears, which begins to hurt after a couple hours. Additionally, the headband sits in such a way that I start to get a headache over time. I dont have these problems with the Bose as much as I want to prefer the Sony.Another deal breaker for me is that the Sony set does not easily support dual simultaneous bluetooth connections. When working, I need to be connected to my laptop and smartphone, and be able easily switch between them. The Bose and PLT both do this. This is different than simply pairing multiple devices, which the Sony does support. If you search around the Internet, there are tricks with connecting certain audio protocols to make simultaneous devices work, but I dont have time to mess around with constant reconfiguration.Less important to me, but also noteworthy. The audio quality on the Sony isnt as crisp as the Bose, although theyre very close. This is probably due to Boses audio compression witchcraft, and purists will argue that Im wrong…meh. The sound quality also apparently applies to the microphone. I tested both sets on a call with a particularlypicky colleague. He reported that while both were good, the Sony sounds quieter and more distant.

It pains me to have to return these after two months, but thats how long it took to find the dealbreaker. Overall, the sound quality is nearly perfect, a bit heavy on the bass side, but fixable with the EQ. Ease of use is also nearly perfect, except for autopairing, which is available on Jabra Elite 85H. I use these in a loud gym, and I got an important phone call the other day. I noticed as soon as the ring tone came on that the noise cancelling disappeared and the roar of gym noise overtook the incoming call. I desperately tried to hear the caller, but it was impossible over the ambient noise. I though for sure there would be a setting in the app to set the noise cancelling to stay on for calls. But I couldnt find it, so I sent a tech support request. They confirmed that the noise cancelling function is NOT available during calls Users have been requesting that feature on the Sony forum for over a year, and it just doesnt seem to be a priority to fix this. Its also kind of surprising that its never mentioned in the glowing reviews where these cans are given top rating. I am disappointedly returning them and hope to find a similar product with better call quality.

I have had these for 24 months now and use them almost everyday.Besides fantastic Active Noise Canceling, like when mowing the lawn and listening to ultraHD music Service like Amazon HD music and Tidal.I also use these at night listening to the TV while others go undisturbed. In the Car I have to admit these win over my Sony WF1000XM3s IEM Ear Buds when I have the AC and a window cracked. These have not faltered in 2 years of solid everyday use and for me they are still well worth the money. They also come with an Airline adapter and a wire set for hooking up directly but when I used them on the Airline I just connected them to my iPAD Mini and watched Mindhunter series That I had downloaded from Netflix for the trip. There is even a Sony Headphones Connect App available from the Play store for Firmware updates and Equalizer settings. These really are hard to beat and a great value for the money.I highly recommend them

I absolutely love these headphones. Noise Canceling worked wonders on the airplanes with all the loud and obnoxious screaming children. I am not one for flying the turbulence and scary engine noises are no more with these. Obviously you can still feel the turbulence but you catch my drift. Battery life is Great The sound is epic and its got a lot of bass. I did atleast 20 hours of research before closing on this bad boy. Best xmas present i bought for myself. It was expensive but man do I love them. The only time I am not using them is when I am working out or plan to be under the sun for a decent amount of time. I have a pair of Jabra 65t Elite, my workout pair, and Samsung Galaxy Buds, which came with my phone. However, I use my Sonys more often and enjoy using them more than any pair of headphones. Honestly my only complaints are that you cant use the noice cancelation if youre using the aux cord or that it doesnt work as a mic if you try plugging them into a video game controller. Other than that second best purchase Ive made at bestbuy the first being my 40 inch Samsung 4k UHD I picked up in 2017.

I work from home now. So does my husband, but we are in different rooms in our finished basement. Do we NEED noise canceling headphones Not really. Our daughter is in preschool and the cats, are cats. But, I tend to work better with no surrounding noise….that includes the cats destroying each other. My husband has Bose headphones, but I was leaning more towards these. I love that it came with a carrying case and cord so when we fly Jet Blue, I can still use them to watch TV They were easy to set up, and the fit my headears perfectly. So comfortable….I dont get headaches from wearing them. With noise canceling on, I cant hear much around me, which is what I need. The true test will be in 3 weeks when we take them on a plane, but for now, they are absolutely perfect

I wouldnt consider myself an audiophile by any means, but this is definitely one of the best headphones that Ive tried and own. First they sound amazing. It has a pretty full sound, but the highs could be a little brighter. Nothing an EQ on your phone, tablet, laptop, or computer cant fix. Theyre super comfortable. I can and have worn them all day. Its light and very little pressure felt on my head, but they dont feel like theyre going to fall off if I turnshake my head. The battery life is awesome. However, you can use the provided 3.5mm cable to turn it into a passive headphone, no noise cancellation or touch input on the controls. The noise cancellation is amazing on these and perfect for long flights or drowning out the noises around you while studyingworking.

If you want to retire into your own little bubble and enjoy listening to your chosen music, or as I do listen to Radio 4, just pop a pair of these on and your world is transformed. With my iPhone in my pocket it picks up BBC Sounds via Bluetooth and it is particularly useful for me as now I can mow the lawn, trim the hedge or indoors, shut out the sound of kitchen equipment or anything else that is noisy. Machinery noise is reduced to a purring in the background while I enjoy perfect sound through my headphones. The sound setting can be surprisingly low and still work perfectly to eliminate exterior din. The set up was easy and straightforward. Comfortable fit and can use them for hours at a time. The battery easily lasts all day and when not in use they sit neatly in their storage case. A very clever device seems expensive but for me worth every penny and has transformed my dislike of intrusive exterior noise into a peaceful almost floating dreamy personal world.

After reading all the positive reviews I decided to give these headphones a go. I thought worst case scenario I could always return them if they dont fit.Unfortunately, after trying to use these headphones for a couple of weeks I am not particularly happy. I just cant wear them for very long, cant explain whether its because of their weight or pressure, but my head gets tired after an hour and so I switch to my inear headphones to get a break. Its disappointing as they are much more expensive.I tried to return them but to my surprise have been told by Customer Service that headphones are excluded from the return policy. I wish this was stated clearly as it would certainly impact my decision making on whether I wanted to take a risk with such expensive headphones. It is a real shame as I know now that I will not be using them much and it will be a total waste.

I had a pair old Sony MDR headphones from about 3 years ago which sadly broke after being dropped. I was trying hard to convince myself to try another brand like Bose or Sennheiser but when I tried these on in the store I was genuinely shocked. The noise cancelling these headphones provide is like nothing else Ive ever heard. All of the ambient sound is sucked into a noiseless vacuum so that whatever audio you are listening to is complete undisturbed. It makes long journeys a dream, and the 30 hour battery brings me great peace of mind knowing that a full charge will last far longer than required. I also love that pressing the power button once informs you of the battery status so that you know when to charge them.Seriously, the noisecancelling on these is so effective that I have to be weary when approaching a busy road and be sure to take them off. Alternatively, theres also an ambient sound option so that you can still hear everything around you while wearing them so that you dont get hit by a bus.As for the sound quality I am extremely satisfied. It gives you the thumping rich bass sounds that you would expect from Sony at this price and allows you to hear every single note from each instrument in whatever music you are listening to. They also allow incredible cinematic sound for watching films on the go. They look good, they sound better.

Pros Sound Is clear, base is also pretty good.Cons Even though they are sweat proof, they clearly have designed these with a runner in mind. I bought these after much deliberation between on ear and in ear. I dont particularly like in ear headphones so I went with these ones based on reviews. The sound quality is amazing, the Bluetooth pairing is also top notch. The only problem and for me its a big problem is that the headphones slip whilst running. Because I bought these purely to wear whilst running then I wouldnt not recommend them. If your thinking of purchasing them to wear on the train or just general wear then these are the perfect headphone.

Ive been stuck between the Bose QC35ii and these for longer than expected. Im so glad I settled on these. The sound is immersive and the bass following equaliser adjustments is pretty close to the XB950BTs, if not, on par, which is astonishing The noise cancellation is very very good. However, Ive found the adaptive setting slightly annoying. It auto adjusts the noise cancelling based on your environment, which is excellent, but it chimes every time it changes and pauses the music. I dont see the purpose of this chime. Id rather it adjust passively in the background without interrupting my music. Simple fix is to turn it off and adjust the noise cancelling profiles inapp. Easy. Theyre very comfortable headphones too, which is another reason Id picked them over the Bose. I found the Bose to feel hard against my head, where the 1000xs have a softer cushioned leather. The touch controls are perfect Why Theyre simple, logical and easy to remember. They also work very well, compared to other touch sensitive headphones Ive used. The aesthetics. Theyre an amazing looking pair of headphones. Even the feel of them is premium, particularly when compared to the QC 35iis, I believe Sony are way ahead on build quality. Lastly, it only has two buttons power andan adaptable button, which you can assign either noise control or assistant Google or Alexa only. As mentioned above, if you switch off the adaptive sound control, then youre best to leave this set to Noise cancel controls as you can hold it for a couple of seconds and itll reassess the environment and set the best profile, saving you opening the app. If it allowed Siri on the adaptive button and didnt chime when it changes sound profiles, I would score this 1010. But for for these two minor minor concerns, Ill settle on 8.510

I absolutely love these headphones. I set out to buy the Bose noise cancelling, over ear headphones, but after reading a lot of reviews, went for these instead. Im so glad I did. The sound quality is pitch perfect. Base is really good. The touch sensitive headphone control is mostly always responsive. Easy set up, easy to use and comfortable, even when wearing my glasses. The sound does cancel noise, and is easily paused or changed to ambient sound when out so you are in touch with your surroundings I dont particularly want to be run over by a car I cant hear due to high quality headphones, so this is a big plus. I have to be honest, the noise cancelling is total when Bluetoothed to my iPad, but probably only 95 effective from my android. It comes in a smart, protective case which is also good, and the pricing in richer sounds is very competitive.

The noisecanceling on these headphones is undeniably impressive it drowns out practically all noise. They are also supremely comfortable, with the super plush ear pads and an overall sturdy design. The touch controls work and are easy to work with. The one gripe I have with these headphones, is the sound. There is A LOT of bass, which will definitely satisfy those bassheads. But overall, out of the box, they sound muddy. The bass overpowers the mids and highs. The app does come with an EQ, which I utilized, but using the EQ in the app kicks you out of using aptX or LDAC codecs not AAC though, for the iPhone users. You can use external equalizers to work around this fortunately, but still a bit of a disappointment. Overall, good headphones with amazing commuting capabilities, but too much bassfor my liking anyway.

I spent quite some time at the local BestBuy listening to various different headphones with noise canceling, before I went on a trip to Europe last year. I listened for sound quality and decent noise canceling, and I wanted a pair of headphones that could also be connected via a wire because Bluetooth always introduces a delay and that annoys me when I watch a video on my computer or phone. There were several really good Sony headsets available and this was the most expensive at the time, but it also sounded the best and was the most comfortable. I didnt plan on spending that kind of money but Im glad I did. I use it almost every day and its super comfortable, sounds great thanks to the equalizer in the apps and has great features. The touchbased controls are intuitive and smart. Touch the right side with your hand and hold it, and it will mute the sound and turn the noise cancellation off so you can hear with others are saying in the room. Tap it twice for pause and play, wipe up and down for volume and forward and back for nextprevious. There are just two regular buttons one button switches between no noise cancelling, full noise cancelling and something called Ambient Sound Control. Ambient Sound Control varies the level of noise control by trying to guess or detect what youre doing Sitting, walking running or sitting on a bus or train. The other button turns the headset on and off if you hold it, or lets a friendly JapaneseEngrish voice tell you how much battery power you have. Other languages are available via the app.The battery easily lasts long enough to listen to music via Bluetooth with noise cancellation enabled for all waking hours of a day. When the battery dies, it takes only a few minutes to charge it up to 80 or so enough for hours more listening, A full charge takes much longer, a few hours. You cant use BlueTooth or noise cancellation while charging, but you can listen to a wired music source while charging because that doesnt use energy from the battery. It comes with a short charging cord but you can use any USB type C cable instead. There is no power adapter included but you can plug it into a USB outlet on any computer, phone charger or USB battery booster to charge it.You get a convenient travel box that the headphones fold up into, and theres an audio cable that plugs into a 3.5mm stereo headphone plug. It also includes an adapter for plugging into an airplane audio system.Sony provides the Sony Headphones App for Windows and Android I presume there are apps for Apple too that let you make changes to the settings for example you can let the headphones automatically turn off if they dont receive any audio via Bluetooth for a while you can turn that off if you just want to enjoy the silence of the noise cancelling for a while. Or you can change equalizer settings and sound positioning, adjust the various degrees of situationbased noise cancelling and many other things. The noise cancellation has a learning mode that adapts to the noise around you, the air pressure important when youre on a plane and even the shape of your ears they claim. The latest version of the app even lets it automatically change settings based on location. All in all, I cant really think of anything bad to say about this device. Except maybe that it was expensive but you get what you pay for.

These are great headphones. They sound great, and are very comfortable. I had a pair of the WH1000XM2, but returned them as they werent at all comfortable, even for short listening periods. The only thing I wish Sony would change would be the ability to connect to multiple devices, as I can with my Jabra headphones. There are many times I connect to both my Pixelbook and phone, listening to something on the computer and then taking calls when the phone rings. The WH1000XM3 can only connect to one device at a time. You can forget the bluetooth connection for one device and connect with another previously paired device with these, but not both at once. The battery life is great as well. Ill sometimes worry that Ill need to recharge headphones before Im ready, but a simple short press of the power button provides an announcement of how much batter life is left and it always seems to be hours more than I would have guessed. The noise cancelling is exceptional, too. I tried Bose, but these are much better essential gear for long flights.
