Used for Digital Photography and occasional video clipPro seems to be fast subjective, not measuredCon Download limited to 160 Mbs used high speed reader none other observed
Frank –
it is adequate, the Sony Tough write time is slightly slower compared to my Sandisk UHSII cards.
Kirk –
These cards seem very well made and tough. They are thicker than normal, making them a snug fit in my camera, and a bit hard to remove. They are apparently very fast, but paying for that extra speed is not worth it when the write speeds of stateoftheart cameras are slower and dont require the extra fast cards.
Trygve –
Bigger than a standard SD card, so the fit is a bit tight in both Olympus OMD and Nikon cameras.
Andrew –
This was bought to be the JPEG repository for my Nikon D850. A Sony XQD card is used for the RAW files. This SDXC card will allow reviewing images on more devices.Would be better if it were as fast as the XQD cards that read and write at 400MBs.
Anonymous –
those are from the bad batch. …… have to replaced with sony … toke a long time.
Nicholas –
Pros This DS card works very well and is quick to up and down load photos. Too soon to say how tough it turns out to be.Cons Just that it is a bit pricey
Bob –
Pros Great to use these cards with so far the confidence that the transfer speeds are very capable, the robust construction also gives you confidence that the card is going to perform well under tough conditionsCons the price is high, but you get what you pay for
Patricia –
It writes super fast and havent had any problems with them.Havent tested the toughness yet but it looks well made and for now it has nothing to envy the SanDisk Extreme cards.
Daniel –
I purchased this card mostly for its 300300mb speeds, but I am also impressed with how sturdy and durable the card feels. There is no flimsiness to it at all.
Jakub –
The fast writing rate works great. I shoot birds at 12 fs with RAWJPG w Sony A99II 42MP. There is no Please wait camera is writing to the card message even after 2second sequences of continuous shooting. I only had the card for a few weeks so cannot speak about durability.
Haniffa –
This memory is a marvelous piece of engineering, very faft and really tough as it says, Sandisk extreme Pro is no where near to Sony Tough.
Stuart –
If youve invested in a professional Sony Camera, you are doing yourself a disservice if you dont use these cards. The readwrite speed on these cards is unmatched on the market at the moment and as such you will be able to take advantage of the power your equipment has.Having reluctantly bought one of these the price can be intimidating after my first shoot I immediately bought another and will be investing in more as needed.
Michael –
Cool new Style SD card with almost no way of breaking it. Doesnt have those stupid fins that break inside the camera. has some weight to it.
A –
Fastest SD Card I own. Nice and sturdy. Complements my Sony A7R2 and havent had any issues running out of storage shooting in RAW Uncompressed. Not a professional, but I imagine this is what they use if going with SDHC storage format.
TechPastor –
I bought this storage card to use with my Sony a6000 camera. It works really well and fast enough for high resolution images and video. Great purchase.
Eoin –
Its a memory card. It does what it says on the can. Very quick it keeps up with my highest resolution body with no trouble. However, unlike any SD card Ive ever used, it can be difficult to remove from the card slot whilst theres no issue with any other brand of card. No obvious reason why no moulding errors or anything. Purchased for one camera in particular, but catches on all of my other bodies when I try to remove them. I imagine it will free up a bit with use. I purchased two of these and theyre both the same in this respect. This probably isnt a reason to pass on this.
Nathan –
I am not an expert by any means, but in searching for some of the better cards that would meet my needs this came up. It does seem way better than the older card I had, which gave me some issues while recording video.Great card.
David –
Took around 600 photos on a shoot last week. Tried to upload the photos and the card was corrupted. Thi is the second time in a month. I have relatively new Sony A7lll purchased in May.The camera has dual card slots so I was able to save the shoot with the backup.I had purchased another Sony card like this one except it was 32GBs. It died completely in July. Neither card seemed to download photos as fast as they claim but that is just my opinion not tested on any equipment.
Chris –
Bought for a new Sony A7C. Video and stills have been great. Only regret is not buying a larger size for longer video shoots. Will buy again.
Rabih –
Quick buffer clearing in continuous shooting and very fast 250MBS transfers from SD to Hard Disk, minimizing wait for data transfer. Great cards, although a bit pricey if you dont need the extra durability there are cheaper UHS II cards from Sony and other brands.
Paul –
Fast reliable…tested them against pretty much every other brand and they are the fastest, not by much, bust overall top speed…havent tested the toughness but they seem very solid….
NikoDH –
One of the best if not the best SD cards available on market Perfect for 4k professional work also great for Burst shoot handles amazingly Sony a7 III and RIII. Highly recommend
Dennis –
Those of us who have one of the new crazyhigh megapixel digital cameras need speed read speed and write speed. No black screens. And ruggedness too, because we want the pixels to be there when we are ready to download. This is the one.
VideoScott –
Ive been using this card in a Panasonic GH5 to record 4k and 6k video files for the past month. So far it has performed seamlessly. Ive become confident in its reliability which is important in a professional production environment. I will most likely purchase an additional one.
Greg –
I used this with a friends Leica Q2. It worked very well without any issues. Great SD media card.
Peggy –
I would only recommend this for people with extreme conditions shooting. It gets hooked inserting and taking it out which has been scary wondering if its going to cost a repair to remove it. I regret buying it I dont have extreme physical conditions for shooting and the other Sony cards I preferred.
C R –
I havent had to wait on this card when using my Sony A7iv. I dont do lab tests but this card fits my needs.
Mike –
Super fast writing speed on Sony A7iii. Buffer was cleared without having to wait during high speed Shooting 10fps for multiple seconds. Without a doubt this card has allowed me to capture images that in the past I would not have got because I would have been waiting for the camera buffer to clear
Mark –
Never be cheap on your media.A couple of hundred bucks sounds hefty, but I remember spending 1300 on PS2 cards so I guess the Tough cards are a real bargain.
Anonymous –
BEST SD CARD HANDS DOWN. This little guy is so tough and strong it feels like metal and the build quality is amazing This thing will last a lifetime
Logan –
Great build quality and great read and write speed. Id recommend it to everyone
John –
Love these cards. Bought 2 more for my new Sony A7R IV and A7S and they are great. Little to no delay ever when trying to view images.
Greg –
The fastest SD card on the market and the only card you should have if you are shooting fast paced action at high fps frames per second bursts. A must for Sony A9 and A9II cameras.
Logan –
Recall has affected my two cards, and I lost a video as a result of the underlying problem. For photos, this has been flawless so far and I am happy to send these in for the fixed models. Faster than any card I have used thus far
Timothy –
I have used this card 4 times now and so far it has preformed great, no problems.I purchased this card for the sole purpose of filling in 4K and it has lived up to my expectations. The only down side is the cost, but I have to remember you get what you pay for.
Dramane –
I got 2 of these for my S1H. I tested them shooting Cinema 4K 10 bit 422 heavy files and did not experience any issue. Its better to get something that works great and that is reliable if you are doing serious video work.
Michael –
For my Sony A7Riii and A7RIV I would not use any other type or brand of SD card. While waiting for these cards to come back In stock I tried other cards and they were expensive cards and fast cards and none were near as good a quality as the Sony Tough. Worth every penny in both quality and performance.
Stephen –
Way more expensive, but slightly faster. Sony makes you pay more by making the nontough cards slower. In my realworld experience, these are just as tough as other options.
Robert –
This card is super fast. What do I have to compare it to My 16GB cards that I was using in my 5D Mk3. I am more photo centric than video so this seems to have a huge amount of storage. The card itself fits perfectly in my R5 and reads and writes RAW photos without any buffer delay. Some other reviewers had trouble pulling this out of the SD slot, but I have not had any of those issues.
Gregory –
Ive had numerous cards break or corrupt in the past, so decided to spend the extra money for this one. Its my second SFG card and the first one has held up well after many months of daily use. The fast write and read speeds are helpful when shooting large RAW files on a A7RIII.
Mary –
Already had one Tough series card and it works well in my Sony mirrorless camera. Already formatted and used this card it works well, too.
Joseph –
This is my second Sony SFG SDXC card, this time at a higher capacity. I shoot this with a matching QXD card so as to always have two copies of everything I shoot. Shooting the Nikon D850 9FPS really benefits from very fast cards, so Im happy with the Sonys.
Michael –
I bought this card a few weeks ago, but only have used it a hand full of times in my Fuji GFX 100. I wanted a fast card that was UHSII for 200mb raw files. For the most part it is functioning normal and seems fast. I am not the best at testing that unless there is a problem. And there doesnt seem to be one.2 issues I have with the card. First, it sometimes sticks in the camera when trying to take it out and I have to kind of wiggle it. not sure what it is getting stuck on, but that can not be good for the card or the camera. I have 2 other UHSII cards one from Sandisk and the other from Fuji and neither stick. The second issue happened twice now in the same shoot, when reinserting the card, I have received a Card Error message and I have to remove the card and reinsert. After reinserting there seems to be no issue, but I see myself already using my other cards before this one. And that is not what I want for an expensive, new SD Card.
kyanz12 –
Excellent cards Great performance and durability. Pretty expensive, though. Especially since I got two of them.
Greg –
I bought two of these cards for my new Sony a9 II camera. The cards worked fine for about two weeks. Now I am getting data errors and damaged files. I am going to have to send these back and order the brand I was using instead. Sonys marketing material made a good case for buying these, but I need 100 reliability. Also when I first got these cards, they would stick when I first tried to get them in the camera and they were really tough to pull out, too. I was worried they might damage my new camera It got easier after a couple of times putting them in and taking them out, but there should be no reason for these cards to stick if they are made to the proper specs. I have another brand of 128gb UHSII cardsthey have never stuck and I have never had data error problems with them either.
TXER ZHON –
Adorama has one the fastest and awesome services. Its very reliable and put its customers first. Love working with them. Highly recommend for their product and services.
marianna –
I ordered the Sony Tough SD card x3 from Moment and was shocked when it arrived the very next day instead of the 24 business days stated on the website. It is very reliable, superfast, and durable, and apparently 18 times better than any other card on the market. Moment had the best price so it was a nobrainer to order from them.
sflacaymans –
Purchased for use in a Nikon D850, 45 megapixel DSLR. No problems keeping up when taking photos in high speed bursts. Uploading to computer is amazingly fast. Couldnt be happier with this card
JayBee –
Very fast card, works wall but one of the recording modes on the a7Siii. My copy was a tight to get in and out of the camera but it works just fine.
Warren –
One of the best if not the best SDXC high speed memory cards available on the market. No need to purchase any of these GSeries memory cards if your camera isnt designed for one, or cant handle the speeds Purchase a Sony MSeries memory card then. Another excellent Sony memory card.I have never had any problems with either aGSeries, or an MSeries Sony memory card. And I have quite a few of them for both DSLR Pro level cameras, top end point shot DSLR cameras, and a Pro Camcorder They are worth the price Even better when they are on specials
Anonymous –
Works great no issues but it did feel a little bit on the thicker side. No issues though so Id recommend.
David –
I use this as a second card for my Nikon D500. Though the card is a bit pricey, the speed is amazing and holds roughly 1200 pictures of 14bit uncompressed RAW files. Would definitely buy again.
john h. –
I have paired this with a Nikon D850 as my primary backup card. So far this thing works fantastic. It is super fast on the upload and download speeds. Very good card.
John –
I wish I could tell you it is faster. I cant. I wish I could tell you it is tougher. I cant. I have no way to measure the specifications. I wont tell you it is anything based on my usage or feelings. That would be wrong. I will tell you a few things such as before purchasing make sure your camera supports the UHS II standard. If it doesnt, you are wasting your money unless you are anticipating an upgrade to gear that does support the UHS II standard. What I am sure of is this is the genuine product. What you see is what you get at B H. That confidence is what keeps me coming back.
Markus –
I did not understand why the cards capacity in my A7rIII would only show up as 45 images total.I tried it in both slots then ran card diagnostics and it showed a capacity of 4GB instead of 128GB.Card corrupted out of box can not be trusted
Scott –
Havent tested its toughness yet and I dont intend to. Buyers should note that the card is a bit thicker than others they have used. Youll need to take just a bit of extra care effort when removing or inserting the card in your camera. Not a big deal, just expect it.
James –
When Im not shooting birds, Im shooting jet aircraft. I need those highspeed bursts. This card added 10 more frames per second to my Canon 7D MkII. So now I get 40 shots before hitting the buffer, verses only 30 with a previous card. I took a risk buying Sony, but it was worth every penny. I have put the card through its paces, it works great
mskobe –
Definitely one of the best SD card in the market if you need the high speed readwrite. I use it for my Sony A7R4. Work perfectly there.
Brett –
Looks, feels and works better than cheap SD cards, its not worth buying cheap when everything is riding on the quality of your media
Subodh –
Using a pair with Sony A7RIV. No delay noted during 4K video recordings and burst mode shots. More than a thousand shots in the last month with no problems in transfer. Shooting in RAW Fine JPEG. Pricey. Cost should come down with time.
KEVIN –
Excellent product and highly recommended. High transfer rates and very reliable
Quan –
Comes in very good shape and feeling when you touch it. Used for my SONY a7r3 camera and it just works well.
Eric –
While personally I dont have any technical measurements to offer, emperically this card is markedly and noticably more responsive than any of the SD cards Ive ever had slotted into my Sony A99II. Now, reviewing dozens of 40MP images incamera is a lightening quick. Offloading those images to a MacBook Pro via tether is fast and effortless. My only lament is not ordering more while they were in stock.
Mitchell –
First time using these cards. They worked well shooting video VLogL, C4k, AllI, 42210, 24fps in my GH5S, but choked on stills with the same settings in 4K burst and threw a read error message on screen along with the spinning circle while on a shoot at a ski resort. Switching the camera off did not even power down the camera. I had to remove the battery. I swapped an identical card from slot two to one with the same result. None of the 4k stills were readable. I bought these cards for their speed but will probably replace them with a different brand.
David –
Pros Seems tough and seems fastCons Cost is significant though I bought at a comparatively very good price.
You Chuan –
The packaging of the SD card delivered is good and the performance of the card is impressive. Reliable and good quality
Oleg –
Outstanding speed and quality. Using with Sony a7 m its just must have card. Using since August of 2020, so far so good you can shoot long series of photos and writing speed just superb, planning to get one more for second slot in my camera. If you need speed and reliability this is your first choice
EMCivicGolf –
Good high speed memory card, that will support todays higher performing cameras. The Tough series adds a good amount of added security, for various weather conditions you may find yourself in.
Daniel –
This is perfect for me. I love that its virtually indestructible and has very fast readingwriting. I can know that my content will be kept safe, and dont have to worry about it. Ive had absolutely no problems with it so far.
Frank –
The G series SD cards are the best I own. The transfer rates can handle anything the Sony 7 series can put out and plug it into your computer and it performs equally as fast transferring those images.
Shmuel –
This card is for my Canon R, a 30 MB body. Great specs especially capacity. The Tough series can go in adverse conditions wo losing performance. Recommended.
ERIC –
Great card. Its super fast and high quality. Works great in both my Sony A9 II as well as my Nikon D500. I took 1 star off for it being slightly thicker than my other branded cards. This makes it a little more difficult to remove from the camera but also makes sure that you definitely want it removed so it may not be that big of deal to you its not to me but worth mentioning
Autumn –
While it is pricey, it is soooo worth it I thought I would fill the card up with pictures and videos from my vacation, but I still had room left Plus it was very fast at processing, so I could immediately snap 25 photos and see them right away. Just buy it. Its worth it
Paul –
I have six of these cards for my Panasonic Lumix S1H and they work perfectly. Always worth it to buy quality cards.
Geoffrey –
Readwrite speed unlike any other SD card Ive ever used. Downloaded over 1,000 game pix into Lightroom in no time. Very well satisfied.
EstesPark –
Fast sd card esp for sony camerasIts a bit thicker than normal but after few times it is okOnly drawback is fileSize limit of 4gb bcos of sdhc on 32gb card
Raymond –
The card is expensive, but worth the money. My A7R4 can handle 2 of these and my A7R3 has a single U3 SDXC slot and I use this card for my two cameras. On the R3 I use the Sandisk 170mb SDXC 1 card as well as on my A6600. Wish Sony had a SDXC 1 170mb card.
nomadicmiah –
I use this in my Canon 90D. Its very fast and gives me full shutter speed from my camera. No process lag for still images or video.
WattSo –
I have a GH5 camera and needed something to handle the highest 4k quality set on the camera. After having a music video shoot. It does its job. No issues so far.
Jorge B. –
These Sony Tough cards are great. Just built stronger than others, might not be a big deal to someone but I switched to these when I lost 100GB of interviews because my Lexar card cracked when I inserted into my card pelican case.
dejjsek –
I use these for my Sony a7r iii and a9, the writing speed to these cards is amazing. I also really appreciate the download speed to my MacBook via Apples USBC SD card reader. Ive accidentally put these cards through the wash before, and theyre just as durable and waterproof as advertised.
Nery –
Compliments my Sony cameras well. After seeing some of those sandisk problems on Sony I was glad I stuck to the first party stuff. Getting advertised speeds as well. Happy with purchase.
Courtney –
Im still trying these out. I bought 2 after my last SD card cracked inside my camera. It works very fast for the most part. I usually use it for video and it works like a champ. It does have some lag with multishot photo modes. It also feels more rigid to slide into the SD slots, but overall I like it
Gerald –
I and not a fan of SD cards as they are slower but most importantly not very durable. This card is both fast and very TOUGH. I plan on buying a few more and replacing any of standard SD cards I have. My Nikons shoot XQD cards and this is right on par with those. Love it
Iran –
These were recalled early on, i didnt manage to get them exchangedthe 2 I purchased cause they make you jump thorough hoops to get them replaced even though theyre defective and wont work at all with Sonys own bodya7siii
Billa –
Works like a charm. This thing is great and works amazingly. Highly recommend.
Couudymelon –
SONY Quality never let me downPerfect fit for my A7S3 and A7R3I purchase 10 of them, so each media card for different clients
Peter –
Definitely a fast, solid card. I really wanted to get something reliable to support the highest video recording settings with no errors and so far this card has performed very well.
Don –
I have four of these cards and so far, they have all worked well. If they last, then they get fives stars.
Jaime –
No problems with my Sony a7siii. Bought after my lexar cards were having corrupt issues my camera would stop recording making it embarrassing during work shoots.
David –
I have had no issues with the Sony Tough 128GB UHSII SDHC Memory Card. I currently use the Sony A7RIII and a fast card comes in handy with the large file sizes.
Joe –
Purchased two of these had issues with readability, reformatting still had issues… Dont recommend spending extra on the Sony name here.
Carroll –
Contiguous photos are only capable if the memory card can record them and save enough of them to make the photos available andor a movie long enough and clear enough to be useful. This card does that. I use it to make family movies and sports shows for my grand daughter. Super reliable.
crickerydjones –
I can get 128 GB for a much better price with a slower card but this card is so fast I could probably edit in Lightroom from the card though I choose not to. I enjoy the faster transfer speeds. Is it necessary for my camera Probably not but it sure is nice.
Patrick –
3 Stars due to its larger size. The unit is just a bit thicker and does not fit my camera as well as other V90s. I can overlook the size issue if it lasts and truly is Tough.
WILFORD –
Id never thought much about SD cards until I got a very high resolution camera and began shooting far more video. Trust me when I say you will not disappointed. If you shoot high resolution photos or need a card that can keep up with your buffer you will want this card. I dont shoot particularly fast but every other card Ive had hits its write wall in just a few shots. Not this card. Within reason I can shoot as fast as I like without worrying about stopping so that the card can be written to.Great card.
Alan –
I use this card shooting 4k video on a Sony Z280 and so far, it has worked flawlessly. The camera will put up a message stating that this isnt guaranteed media when its inserted, but I have used it multiple times with no issues. I made sure to get the V90 version.
Aviel –
The only thing I was worried about was that some people mentioned that it was a tight fit in some cameras I couldnt see any difference in thickness compared to my Sandisk card, and on my sigma fp I had no issues putting the Sony card in or taking it out.
Eric –
While the cards appear sturdy, hence the Tough name, Im not sure they are that much faster than the older type I cards I have. As usual, BHs service and handling are exemplary.
FarqaleetFotography –
I use these in both slots for my A7RIV. While you can get away with lower speed cards, the reading and writing speed on these makes the workflow very efficient. The write speed is more important in shooting videos but if you do continuous shots of a moving subject, these will help you out. Similarly read speeds help a lot in downloading everything to the computer after the shoot.
Chris –
Yup, I have stuffed my two Sony A7r4s with four of these great cards They are simply the best. I have upcoming trips to Cuba, Venice, and Japan and want to make sure I have no issues with lost image files or slow writing to the cards if I need to use rapidfire.
Cameron –
I own four of these cards. Enough said. I plan to replace all of my SD cards with Sony Tough cards. They are that good.
mytwogoodhands –
I had a 70 speed card in my camera and the shot burst would be 15 frames. I installed this card 299 speed and get 20 to 22 in the burst, the cool part is I get another 5 to 7 frames at a slower pace, but I get them. For wild life shooting this is a great plus
Shirley –
I have usually used 128 GB Sony G cards and I am careful with them. I didnt think I needed a Tough card. Recently, a regular G card had the black guide wire come loose. Sony agreed to replace it. I bought a 128 GB Tough card and like the fact that it feels more rigid and doesnt have those black wires that could come loose. There is a little more resistance when putting the Tough cards in and out of the cameras SDXCII slots, but overall I think the Toughs are an improvement.
Cameron –
If you have any of Sonys latest cameras with the UHSii slot then this card is a must The speed keeps your camera from overheating in video mode and makes transferring footage or photos super quick. Ive got several of these and plan to get more.
Unloader –
Excellent product Highly recommend for quality dpi transfer rate of realistic true photo captures. A must have for a photographer level of photos.
Nico –
I bought this card because I already split two SD cards when taking them out of the camera and pushing them back in. Performance wise it is one of the best SD Cards on the market. Extremely fast offload to PC and rated for my 4K 60P GH5S. Build quality is excellent as I see no seam, the point at where my two SD cards split. Time will tell if it could outlive my other two SD cards, but so far it is well worth it. I am confident it will last many data transfers.I have both the 128 and 64 GB versions.
Bapu –
Especially if you have a high end camera, stop researching and finding the cheapest card card out there. This here tops em all, speed, reliability and gosh the toughness. They named it appropriately. All other cards seem flimsy in comparison. I wish I just had invested in these from the get go. Great product Sony
Bestastic –
Its the best feeling memory card Ive ever used. Ive been a filmmaker for 12 years and this thing is actually tough Works great with my a7siii.
MARC –
Still in early use. But the in camera performance is flawless. So jury still out. Need to take this card on a few serious gigs this summer and report back. But still would buy again as this has the fastest read and write speed in its class.
JMFrat –
Purchased this for my wifes new camera Canon EOS M6 Mark ii, speed is as expected. No problems with it.
theB82project –
Great product, the fastest SD card I ever seen, no doubt Sony really have been put lots of effort to makes this fantastic SD card. Lets talk about build quality , the card is completely smooth with just a small, standard dip where the UHSIIstyle contacts begin. Built of a stronger plastic, you can try all you want to break it, but youll be hardpressed to do so with your bare hands. Sony says with its 10N rating, this card is 18 times stronger than a standard SD card, and is true. I also try to put in liquid nitrogen for 1 min still works after I getting out the card. For the speed it can go up to 300 MBs read and 299 MBs write speeds Thats even faster than some ssd. Overall, I will say is a bit pricey SD card out there I mean the most expensive yet But if you need this product to do post production or cinema editing or you just want the fastest SD card out there, trust me you wont regret.
Cliff –
This card has solved my issues in my workflow. From shooting HFR to transferring files to my desktop. Great Card
Jess0 –
Holy cow Talk about fast No lag time in writing at all Yes its expensive BUT so worth it
Travelers –
Great new memory card for my needs. Tough and plenty of memory to hold all my shots.
JordanDrones –
I recently picked up a BMPCC 4K and my V60 cards cant keep up with the high bitrate on certain settings, this helped a lot in alleviating that issue. Highly recommend for high speed writing
takanoshun –
This card is noticeably faster than my previous UHSI version when used with the Sony A7RIII camera. A good investment if youre looking to speed up the time to write to the card. If you dont have need for greater speed, then the UHSI version works fine with the camera which I keep in Slot 2.
Albert –
This is so awesome and tough Very reliable and great product. I highly recommend for anyone who is looking for long term usability It records 4K UHD video and high resolution photos
Dave –
Love these new Sony Tough cards Ive added them to my new A7RIV kit and love how incredibly fast and durable they are. By far the best option when searching for high speed cards.
Hanson –
This is the first 300 MBs R and 299 MBs W up to card I use. Cant compare with similar Sandisk card.
Paul –
These are the first premium and expensive SD cards I have purchased, specifically for V90 rating in the A7SIII. Ive never spent more than 30 on a 100MBs 64GB card, because they fail rather frequently, physically splitting from daily use. Good news is that BH is shipping post recall cards, with the happy star printed on them, so they dont have to be exchanged. The dissapointment I have is the 250210MBs RW Mac 265235MBs RW PC speeds using various UHSII card readers on both my new cards. For that, I reduced the stars by the exact amount of performance I robbed of.
Kyle –
These are the best cards Ive used and justify the price. They dont drop frames when you use them with the BMPCC4k, and they are my go to for something like an EOS R when you cant have a card fail.Highly recommend, top notch and the build quality is amazing.
jdelarama –
Card is a much thicker and tighter fight in my Sony camera. But much needed to take advantage of the various file formats for video recording.
Nathaniel A. –
This is Sonys top of the line UHSII card. Its my primary card for my Sony A7III camera. Its super fast with very minimal buffering when shooting high speed action. It also performs well when shooting 4K video. Exceptional quality. I would definitely purchase again
Don –
I shoot uncompressed 42.4mp uncompressed RAW. Plus 4k video. Do you suppose that speed is important to me It is, and so is reliability. This card does both quite nicely so far…
Yuri –
The best professional SDXC card on the market, period It blazing fast, solid built and no mechanical lock. With any other cards you could accidentally lock a card inserting to the camera but its not a problem with Sony SFG. I give 4 starts for only one reason this card is thicker than any other. Its not an issue in the camera but in some card readers need to use force to insert it.
Nelson –
Super fast card, love all sony products. Love how it is water and shock resistant.
Sarah –
love this card, i had read that it was thick and hard to get out of the camera but Ive not had any issues. the card is fast and works really well with my a9 for burst shots. file transfer is also really fast.
Aaron –
I had been using an old SD card for my new R6 and had all kinds of buffer issues when shooting in burst mode. Then, when it was time to process images, there was lots of wait time.Sprung for the modest capacity UHSII SDXC after reading reviews on this site… I was not disappointed. The camera just does what it needs to do without pauses or freezing. 55 would recommend
Charles –
Yes, its really expensive for a card. But the write speed increase really mattered when I switched to shooting uncompressed RAW on the A7R4 in burst. I can still hit the buffer if I go just insane with a burst, but it clears so much faster. In non nuts 3 or 4 frame bursts I never lose a shot.Feels essentially indestructible, which is awfully nice.
Antoinette –
I bought this SD with high hopes. I shoot my boys sports so I wanted a fast card. I bought this card December 3, 2018 and today January 21, 2019 it told me it was not readable It died after a month of having it
Pawel –
I was looking for a card that will work with 400MBs 10bit footage from Panasonic GH5 and this is the first one that actually works. Super happy with transfer speed too which is important when you have to back up the footage right there on the set. Im definitely ordering more
kevinblj –
I recently purchased Sony A7RIV, which produces 61 MP images. I needed beasts of SD cards that can keep up with the beasty camera itself. After a lot of research, I decided to go with this Sony SDXC G card at 300 MBs for many reasons and I am glad I did. It sure can keep up with the size and readwrite speed are both very quick. It is reliable and I am able to transfer files without any issues and it just makes me feel comfortable, knowing I have robust G cards to support my camera. I was coming from Nikon DSLR and when I was moving to Sony Mirrorless, I simply wanted to invest in cards that I know I can use for a long term without regrets of not getting whats best out there. The packaging is very nice and comes in the cases that I can carry in with good protection. Whether I shoot singles or continuous, I can see my images immediately. I have not tested on video yet, but I dont doubt that this will do the job. My only complain would be the price that these are very expensive SDXC cards and it did hurt the bank, but I am definitely enjoying shooting with a quality cards I can trust.
Wade –
Really cant find anything bad to say about these cards. They feel very durable. They are also very fast. I will be using these exclusively for now on.
Coolman –
Many people recommended me to buy this SD card. I bought the fastest and the best camera in the world, which is A9. I must use this fast camera to save the buffered photos to my SD card in the shortest time.
Grant –
use SD cards. Its great for that purpose.
walldar0 –
I already had one of these cards and bought a second to put in my Canon R6. This card is very fast and has been extremely reliable. Have had no issues at all and will continue to buy the Sony Tough series again in the future.
Travella –
Work well with A9 very fast . High quality. Very happy
CHARLES –
Much faster memory card than the normal SD cards, no down time waiting for the buffer while shooting quick bursts. Very happy with this memory card. I have already recommended this product to multiple different photographers.
Don –
Nice to have a card that is more durable and rugged compared to prior cards. Performace is great like prior Sony cards. Is slightly thicker so I was not able to put my normal labels on each side, but otherwise fine.
Ahamidpatel –
Perfect card for Sony Alpha cameras. Some time gives read error. Contacted Sony support never got response. If you are shooting commercial footage must have. Pricy.
aldente –
This item lets you photograph with comfort and speed, although the actual readwrite speeds are constrained by the camera equipment you are using. Please note that, by design, the slide lock is eliminated to increase the physical toughness. You are paying the bigger price for the best possible protection against physical damage as well as the speed.
CHARLES –
Definitely is tough and I appreciate that when on location. So I do use, and feel confident using these cards. However have had some read and write issues. I do not believe these cards are as fast as advertised. At least not after using them a few times…
Quiche –
LOVE THESE CARDS Love that they are NOT plastic. They feel and act much better and I truly trust that they are tough
AWAD –
You keep shooting and you do not have to wait for it to write the file before it lets you shoot again. this card allows my Sony A7R3 to just keep going and the buffer allows me to record all the action. I dont miss a moment. Well worth the money.
Jeffrey –
Love somy cards never had a problem fingers crossed. BH always coming through when I need something in a timely fashion. Quick and I get to see reviews from others what others are using and looking for, which is very helpful since Im just starting out in photography. My first stop when I need something is here.
JJ –
For some reason if you delete in camera this card might have read issues, at least for the Sony A7 users. Using ExifPro some images are considered unreadable on occasion. A fast card, no doubt, but unsure if there is a problem with the A7r3 I am using or with the card. I have not experienced data loss with other SD cards on the A7r3, so I am supposing there is a QC issue with the card.
CoachJohn –
This card is as solid as expected. It really feels indestructible, while at the same time it is as nimble as a highspeed camera needs it to be. After just a few days usage, I turned around and bought another one for the other slot in my camera.
Elaine –
This memory card is so quick My camera works much better at multiple photos than with slower card. Great little memory card.
Liam –
Love these cards, havent had any issues as of yet, and I have 2 or 3 I know knowing theyre more durable than others, u never know. Theyre fast too
Jamesk –
Ive used these cards for awhile. They have some of the fastest speeds at a good price. Only thing is they are slightly thicker than a standard card so sometimes can be tricky to get in and out, but right now cheaper and faster than the Sandisk cards.
JeanLuc –
No issues with these cards. Robust and reliable, if a bit thick for some of the readers out there. The frame rate of the A9ii really stretches the write speed though, but this is probably as good as it gets.
Samy –
The physical structure of the card is tough name itself says. Really happy with the performance. Im beginner for the photography and My 1st camera is sony a7iii which was bought recently with Sony tough 64GB. I didnt experience any problem until now. Transferring data to the pc is really fast. Also, i didnt experience any lag in buffer. so it should be fast enough to write on the card too. Although its pricy when compare with other cards. But you will satisfy with Sony tough 64 GB. I recommend this product. Also, another thing i want to mention about the service of Calumet. I made the order through the website and i was satisfied highly. People were polite and friendly. I got quick response from the people very fast. thanks calumet.
Clem –
Extremely fast UHSii sd card, fast delivery from the USA to Australia. Really pleased.
WILLIAM –
This is an exceptional UHSII card with the highest readwrite rate. The card is made al of a piece and thus more tolerant if exposed to the elements. I am very pleased with this product.
Edwin –
Put in my A7M3 and shot like forever. Perfect for capturing birds in flight, need a lot to select from as you follow a bird through the air. Also for the spring Hummingbird capturing. A7M3 10FPS lower price vs A9 20 FPS.
Grant –
This card is amazing. My only complaint is that it only stores half as much data as the 128gb version.
Karoly –
I used Lexar SDXC cards in my Sony cameras. I dropped one on the floor and it fell apart. They are made of layered cheap plastic. The Sony Tough series cards are made of metal, very strong. Im impressed, would recommend it to anyone.
Ira –
Used some high speed cards before but this one is lighting speed both for readwrite.Very well built, goes easily in and out of my a7riiiFast delivery to my door as promised.
CHRIS –
HI A very fast card, with data transfer rates very beneficial for 4K video. BUT I think but am not sure when shooting stills if I set my A7RIII and A7III to backup from cardtocard, the data transfer speed of this card is dropped down to the speed of the slower card in slot 2 of either camera Still plenty fast for my needs. And Ill take the slower speeds versus loosing the redundancy.
Caitlin –
Switched to this Sony card after extensive research and a card fail from another brand and have not been disapointed
Allen –
Got this card for my R6. Great speed. Gets the job done. Well worth the price and the wait.
Peter –
The card is probably very good but Leederville Cameras is the pits. Three weeks after I placed my order and Leederville took my money as a deposit they are yet to provide any card and yet they have the hide to seek my rating of the withheld product. . Leederville claim that there is a worldwide shortage of these cards and that may be, but there are at least 4 alternative suppliers in Australia that have stock and at the same price as that charged by Leederville. Avoid placing orders with this rapacious company.
Ben D. –
Vendor sold me a card under recall by the manufacturer, which turned into quite a hassle returning the card to Sony. Just filing a recall claim took an hour with a representative from Sony. Would prefer not to pay full retail for a card from this vendor that had already been recalled.
Ken –
This card manages to be just a little thicker and stronger while still being able to squeeze into the camera and card reader slots. So far, it has performed without a problem, including recording 6K video. This card costs a little more but its worth it for the peace of mind I get.
Ricardo –
This card is extremely fast,,,i did a continuous photograph and slow motion video and the card was up for the challenge. I would really recommend this memory card. I will definitely buy another card with more memory. It works great with my a7riii
John –
Three words Reliability, durability, and speed. If you are in the market for a fast transfer rate card for either 4K video or burst shots, look no further.
Gary –
Ive had several SD cards fall apart over the years. This is the first durable SD card that Ive seen on the market. Now that Im completely into the Sony Alpha system SD cards only I need to have the most reliable memory I can get I will be purchasing more of these cards.
Bryan –
With other UHSII SD cards, there are small ribs on the back, and a lock switch. The lock switch I never found myself using. And the small ribs were prone to break, even with a SanDisk Extreme Pro card. The Sony TOUGH cards are extremely durable, and arent prone to the same breakage points as typical cards. Very impressed with these. Over time Ill definitely be replacing my other cards with these
Gary –
I have plenty of older SD cards, but since getting a new Nikon Z6 II, I decided to take advantage of its speed ability. This card zooms in file transfers.
Bhob –
The Sony a7R IV is the highresolution fullframe mirrorless camera and is built around a BSICMOS sensor that created 61 MP images. It promises more robust build quality, refined controls, the latest autofocus. It shoots up to 10 frames per second with full autofocus and also shoots 4K video. APSC shoots high resolution mode, creates 240MP images.
Nicholas –
Having the SFG Tough card means that I am ready for any task requiring high writingreading speeds up to v90 rating. Im also very happy knowing it will withstand harsh weather conditions and EMI.
SAMEER –
If you are someone juggling multiple SD cards and require high performance i.e. multiple frames sec in raw dng formats, this is an essential. After quite a bit of research of similar cards with 300 mbs read write speeds I finally settled on this. I use it for the Leica Q2 currently and have not had any issues shooting the 42MP files or recording in 4k.
2012andy56 –
The Sony 64GB G series memory card is very fast. You get the sense of it when transferring files from the card to your computer. It goes ultra fast and you can typically see the bit rate per sec. Using any other memory card appears to take forever in comparison. When used with my Nikon D850 camera configured for largest image size, I get about 597 images per card. This is a good size for me for the venues I shoot. Ive contemplated larger sizes like a 128GB but so often Ill have a low shot count and want to process those images immediately on the computer and feel a 128GB would be wasted space.
Victor –
These SDs sure are tough However the price is a little high. I use these with all my cameras. The max I can record on BMPCC4K is 4K DCI 60fps Braw 121 and 2.6K 120fps360 angle 121 Fujifilm XT3s h265 4K 60fps check Canon EOS R ALLI 4K check
Arthit –
i love the tough series of sd cards from sony. its the best, in term of both performance and ruggedness. the body of the card are not made from plastic, it makes metal clanking noise ie. when drop slightly on the desk.works great on sony a7siii for most of the shooting option apart from alli in sq mode in 4K120p and 1080p240p.
TsungTse –
This card pairs really nicely with an A7R4 and I am really happy with this purchase.Buffer speed is almost half of what it used to be with my Lexar 1000x, which is really important with the Sony ecosystem, because you cant change settings while the camera is buffering. The card itself is light and well built, its unibody and resistant to bending. Theres also the plastic protective case that comes with it. I think this is easily one of the best cards you can get despite the higher price tag
Everett –
Currently using this Sony Tough V90 card in my Canon EOS C70. no issues noted while recording, its fast and works great, no buffering issues. This works.
Bert –
I got the cards just before Sony had the current recall. They will exchange them for new ones that dont have the problem. But thats a bit of a pain. I wish BH had some early warning about this issue. Be sure you only get the ones without the problem.Physically, they are thick and dont slide into my OMD EM1ii camera very easily. They are also hard to get out of the slots. Not sure if this is a Sony or an Olympus problem. In the Olympus, they only give about 150MBs performance, according to a review on the web. At least I can read them out into the computer at 300MBs.
clayton –
Works great with my A7r3….perfect size for a small shoot. No lag on recording any of the 4k flavors created on the a7r3, and I can pretty much hold down the shutter and pop away on continous…with no slow down in performance. After about 2030 shots some lag on preview, but I dont find this to be a problem. I can wait the 10 seconds or so.
Marco –
Perfect product. Well made fast works well with a7iv
Joseph –
I have several of these and several of the Sandisk cards for my R5. They are reliable and fast, though not as fast as the CF Express Cards. I sometimes take these out to get the fastestlongest bursts such as for birds in flight, but these are good for recording images on two cards for security. I would prefer Canon make their cameras to take 2 CF cards or 2 CF Express Cards so I dont have to sacrifice speed to have a backup of every shot, but since they put a SD card slot for a second card, these fit the bill.
Andre –
Decide to give the best memory available for my Sony Alpha 7 Mark III. turns out to be one of the best decision ive made.the Sony A7III burst photos now can be utilized perfectly
Samantha –
Sonys 128GB SFG Tough Series is my favorite to date. Albeit the hefty price tag I think its worth it as its indeed quite fast and durable. However the only caveat was the fact that the card doesnt slide in or out as easily as other cards. Apart from that I am very pleased with my purchase.
Tom –
Fast and well built. Worth the money. A7R IV And Canon R5.
Travis –
SD cards are so fragile, I have broken two despite them being handled carefully. I am upgrading all of my cards to these, they are more durable and resistant to the elements.
Johan –
This card looks and feels great.Does not feel cheap. So definitely worth it.I use it on my A7riii and I dont feel any buffer or slow down when shooting weddings.I transfer to PC and iMac With zero problems.
jacob –
On the first use it seemed slightly too big for the port on the S1H but its been performing consistently for several months and I have no complaints. speed is fast and Ive experienced no corrupt files. Using it with the ProGrade dual SD UHSII reader
Kyle –
I havent had a chance to fully test their ruggedness, but I got these for shooting UHD on the Canon XF400s and they are working great. No more write speed errors from lesser rated cards. Highly recommend.
Jeffrey –
I bought two cards for a new a7R IV, and the performance is great. These cards seem to work better with that particular camera than other cards I tried.
TKH –
Have been using the card for 3 monthsall without issue. It formats and records as expected. Is constructed as well as it should be and has held up to repeat usesremovals perfectly. sweepstakes
Anonymous –
The moment I inboxed the card, you can immediately feel the durability of the card, feels much more sturdy and stronger than usual cards, the speed of the card is very impressive and is perfect for recording 4K video. It also works great with the Sony A7III
Lawrence –
The card seems to be fast and reliable. So far camera performance seems to have improved. Previously I was using an UHS1 card and actually had a couple of Raw files not be written to the card when using continuous tracking, continuous shooting and recording Raw JPG. Only time will tell if this card has solved that problem or I have to shoot only Raw when using continuous shooting. There was a louder than usual click that didnt seem quite right like maybe a tab broke about half the way the first time I installed it. I was careful and when I felt resistance removed the card and tried to install it gently a few times, like Ive done with other cards before giving it a little more pressure. When I removed the card the spring device in the card slot seemed to be working fine. I dont have a problem with it making that sound anymore, but it does rub on the sides of the card slot. The Sandisk and Delkin cards dont provide as much feedback. Id give it 5 stars if I wasnt worried that it damaged the card slot in some way. It appears to be working well but I dont know if down the road I will regret not sending back for another one or a different product.
Gene –
This is a very solid and fast SD card worth the money if you are doing commercial work and need reliable fast media.
Alan –
In attempt at making this card TOUGH it is physically thicker in dimension than other cards. This added plastic makes the insertion and removal from cameras difficult and annoying. You can get it in and out but with some effort you need to tightly grab the very small end sticking out on removal and squeeze and pull to remove the card. This is same on all cameras but I find it especially annoying that SONY makes the camera and card and did not check this.I will be returning mine
Francisco –
Its good to be tough but the price is tough as well. I think because I am outdoor in bad conditions every so often I may most of my memory cards toward the tuff side.
Nicholas –
This card is definitely a bit more durable than sandisk and also has a faster write speed. The only thing I caution is , it is a bit thicker. So some cameras may not like it.
James –
Good fit, not too loose or tight. No write switch to worry about. Good write speed and enough capacity for a 1000 uncompressed raw files at full A7R4 resolution.
Christopher –
Love these cards for my Sony A7R4, as you need as much bandwidth to push photos though the system from the 61MP sensor.Price is a little bit more but the quality is there.
