–SOUND– Profile – Punchy, Clear and vocals are crisp First I tried them connected to my phone (Honor Magic V3) via Bluetooth and was tempted to send them back. The sound quality was severely lacking. They sounded like Beats headphones with far too much compression. I connected them to my little Mac Mini and the sound totally transformed. If they sound bad for you, try a different source, seriously it was night and day. They went from middle/low sounding to the best I’ve ever heard. Black Friday deal at £180 means they are still expensive but daaaaaamn they sound good. Sub drops are…. *chefs kiss* –WIRED VS WIRELESS– When plugged in, and the headphones are turned off they sound absolute garbage…. make sure they are turned on and they will sound much better. The volume is low when plugged in, so you need something to drive them. My UMC404HD was not beefy enough so I’ve ordered a headphone amp to get the most out of them for recording with no lag. Mac Mini did manage to get nearly loud enough but needed 100% volume and started introducing distortion. If you want to use them wired, you’d better have an amp. The only annoyance is a 2.5mm jack instead of 3.5mm…. now I have to buy a long cable for tracking as an adapter would be annoying. –USB-C– They are also detected as a device when plugged in via USB-C. This sounds exactly the same as wireless as far as I can tell, but with slightly less inherent Bluetooth lag. Not small enough to play guitar through VSTs but better than wireless. –ANC– Better than the B&O Beoplay, not as good as the Bose-somethingorother. Definitely adequate. –APP– The app is what you would expect from a modern app. EQ settings, a little comparison thing to build your own sound, firmware updates etc. Nothing special, does what it needs to. (reviewed from a metalhead listening to Deathcore etc.) 2 people found this helpful

It was between MOM4’s and the Sony’s WH-XM5’s. It was either the quality of the sound vs the ANC’s so I opted for the MOM4’s due to the quality of the sound and I made the right choice. I brought these on Prime Day and had a £100 voucher so I got them dead cheap. The case is smaller then I expected and the fabric which covers it makes it look that extra premium. It’s sturdy and easy to carry. The extra’s are the C-Type USB cable, AUX cable and airplane adapter. The headphones look exceptionally premium with the same fabric covering the top part of the head frame and fake leather underneath giving it an extra cushion feel. The ear cups fit well against my ears and are very comfortable. I can keep them on for hours without any issues. There is a hard button to turn the device on/off but I have never used it. As soon as I pull them out of the case, they turn on; when I have finished using them they auto turn off which can be set via the app. Everything else is touch controlled and it’s sensitive, maybe a little too much causing it to pause, skip tracks. The sound it is not the loudest so I expected more for the price but these are very big on bass and exactly what I needed. I’m not so keen on ANC and I can barely tell if it’s in use or not because I always have the volume on max so I can’t hear anything anyway. I’ve had these for a couple of month’s now and I’ve charged them once or twice, the battery life is great. The app is certainly required to adjust the settings and it makes a difference to how they sound, which is better than straight from the box. Overall, made the right choice purchasing the MOM4’s and for the price at less than £125, it was a no brainer. 2 people found this helpful

The Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless headphones bring significant upgrades to Sennheiser’s premium line, competing directly with top-tier noise-canceling headphones from brands like Sony and Bose. Controls: The MOMENTUM 4 employs intuitive touch controls on the ear cups for play/pause, volume adjustments, and track navigation. Sennheiser has also included wear-detection sensors, pausing playback when you remove the headphones and resuming when you put them back on. Connectivity and App Integration: Equipped with Bluetooth 5.2, the MOMENTUM 4 offers a reliable, high-quality connection. The Sennheiser Smart Control app provides customization options, including EQ settings and a sound personalization feature that adjusts based on your listening preferences. Battery Life: With a remarkable 60-hour battery life (at moderate volume with ANC on), these headphones outlast most competitors in the category. Quick-charging provides about six hours of playback with just a 10-minute charge. Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency Mode: The Adaptive Noise Cancellation is quite effective, especially in noisy environments like planes or public transport. Transparency Mode allows external sounds in, which is useful for conversations without removing the headphones. Sound Quality: Sennheiser is known for its audio fidelity, and the MOMENTUM 4 stays true to this legacy. It delivers a clear, balanced, and rich sound profile, which can also be customized in the app. Here’s a breakdown of its performance across sound characteristics: Bass: Deep, punchy bass without being overbearing, making it suitable for genres like hip-hop, electronic, and pop. Mids and Highs: Vocals and instruments are detailed, and highs are crisp without becoming harsh. This makes it ideal for everything from classical and jazz to rock. Soundstage: The MOMENTUM 4 has an impressively wide soundstage for closed-back headphones, allowing for excellent separation and positioning of sounds. The headphones also support high-quality codecs, including aptX Adaptive and AAC, which enhance sound quality over Bluetooth. Pros: Outstanding battery life (up to 60 hours) with fast-charging capabilities. Exceptional sound quality that’s clear, detailed, and customizable. Effective Adaptive Noise Cancellation that competes well with top ANC models. Comfortable and lightweight design, suitable for extended use. Stable Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity with support for high-quality codecs. Cons: Less distinctive design compared to previous MOMENTUM models, which may disappoint fans of the original look. Touch controls can be somewhat sensitive, occasionally leading to accidental triggers. ANC isn’t industry-leading; while it’s very good, it’s slightly less effective than Sony’s and Bose’s top models in extremely noisy environments. Final Verdict: The Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless headphones are an excellent choice for listeners who prioritize sound quality, comfort, and long battery life. They strike a great balance between premium audio performance and advanced features like ANC and transparency mode, making them versatile for daily use, travel, and dedicated listening sessions. 3 people found this helpful

I read many reviews and watched many videos before purchasing this. Apparently some audiophile reviewers complain about some “muddiness” in the upper bass. I hear it, but just barely noticeable (only affecting very few tracks) and it can be fixed with the built-in app by reducing the 250Hz value by 3 or 4dB. The EQ setting saves the values in the headphone itself so this persists across all devices. The sub-bass is already amazing out of the box and if you want to have real fun you can boost the 63Hz slider by 3 or 4dB to get a really deep sub rumble. The rest of the sound profile is pretty much Harman, the clarity and resolution out of the box exceed my expectations. Battery life is amazing, headphones are very comfortable, the Smart Control app is simple and effective, the touch controls just work. Obviously the ANC is not the best in the world, that will always be a Bose win, but it works for what I need. As I said, main point here is about sound quality, these are very good at it, I am almost tempted to use these as Studio monitors since they get a lot deeper than Sundara or similar. 7 people found this helpful

Compared this headphones with Bose QC Ultra and Apple Airpods Max. Momentum 4 produces much better sound quality then two others, it’s the fact. They make you feel as if you comfortably sit in front of the stage by hearing every aspect of the music composition, from deep, dimensional bass to detailed trebles. After using M4, other two headphones are just good and I can’t picked them for travelling or commuting. Firmware and App version used – the latest as on September 2024. Model: Sennheiser Momentum 4 Coper. Find M4’s mobile app more advanced with smart attention to details in tuning. I didn’t have any problems with M4, great connection ability and stable app on ios. Really enjoying) Both Bose QC Ultra and Airpods Max have detailed, pronounced trebles, flat bass and mids. They can’t produce bass/mid sound similar to M4’s even though tweaking the apps. Airpods Max wins for build quality and style, ie ‘Dress to Impress’. They are quite heavy though… ANC works softer on M4 and is more comfortable for my ears and taste. Spatial (Immersive) audio isn’t for music, but for watching films, shows in my view. When applying the effect to music tracks – i personally switch back to the standard (non-3D) mode. Thanks for your attention. 13 people found this helpful

I had been looking into headphones for some time and I was stuck between these headphones and sonys xm5, but after many trips to currys I had decided on these, and I am not disappointed. For reference I paid £260 for these headphones. Firstly I was a bit confused and concerned as when these headphones arrived they were already turned on and on 50% but that just allowed me to test these headphones quicker. The headphones have clear instructions on how to use straight out of the box and the qr code to the app used to support them. The box also came with a few bits such as an aux cord and a charger which come in handy as well. The app has features which help you access things you need easier. I haven’t found myself using the “sound zone” features much however the rest of the customer features I have used plenty of to make the headphones usable in the way I desire. The life on the headphones are unbelievable as even when I forget to charge them they never seem to die and the ease of controls makes it so I can easily switch from listening to music quietly to talking to other people. The noise cancelling doesn’t quite cut all noise out however a minimum amount of music playing makes it seem as there is no noise getting through. As well as the system with the microphones on the outside of the headphones make it so you don’t even have to take them off to hear anything. I cannot compare them to any competitors as these are my first proper sound cancelling headphones but these have not let me down as I can study without any more distractions. I’d rate these a 9.7/10 6 people found this helpful
