High capacity, good speed, right price. Little spotty what phones are able to power it through the TypeC connection but that isnt the fault of the drive. Overall I thoroughly enjoy it.
NCox –
Absolutely perfect Runs even the highest end of games from there with nonnoticeable lagloading times. Worth the price for getting 1tb for this small of a thing. A little expensive but if youve got the funds it is totally worth the price.
KingMe –
Very small but extremely reliable. Best best is to keep this thing on your key ring. Atleast its stainless steel.
Alex M –
Great, versatile little device The usb Atype C combo is a brilliant idea and the speeds themselves at least where large files are concerned are excellent, though not so much when it comes to smaller files. Brilliant compact storage with some brilliant little flourishes
tagasugbu99 –
Its a slick and cute design. Not only that, its not made of plastic. But most of all, the price is so low below 20 during Black Friday. One thing that I noticed is that, it has USB 3.1 on one side, and the other side is USBC.

I bought this item to load all of my pictures from my phone to clear up more space. It works really well and is the perfect small size. Youll love it

The SanDisk 256GB Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB 3.1 Flash Drive USB TypeC TypeA works like a charm, but,…It is tinyminiscule. So much so, that I had to attach a keychain to it so it wouldnt get lost.Worth every penny
Octane –
Have had several SanDisk products throughout the years. Had to get this after the price dropped. Incredibly small and well made out of metal.
bluespirit –
I got this so I could more easily move between my computers and have my most current docs and data readily available. One has usb c and the other is usb 3 0.I can also travel with it on my Keychain. Bonus

The SanDisk 512GB flash drive is a compact dual flash drive. One end is male USB TypeC and the other end is a female USBA. There is an attached cover that you can flip to one end or the other, which clicks into place.I love the file storage capacity of 512GB with 460GB usable space and how compact it is. It has a keyring hole in the case, but with no cover to protect the open end from dirt and dust, I will probably not use it on my keyring. Instead, I placed it in a zipper compartment in my wallet. The case is metal, so it gets very warm when in use, but not so hot that it burns and not so hot that you cant hold your hand against it for a long time. This happens with all of my metal flash drives, but it means that the heat from the drive is being dispersed to the outside which helps to keep the drives chip cooler. If youre using it on a smart phone, this drive plugs into your charging port, so you wont be able to use that port for charging at the same time. A splitter or wireless charger may be your answer, but my splitter didnt recognize the flash drive. This should not be an issue unless you are transferring a large number of files at a time. With my first attempt at backing up my entire phone including the movies on my attached 256GB microSD card I ran my battery down to 4 before I stopped the transfer.I tested the speed in the following different ways I tried to transfer all of my phones photos and movies, but I stopped the transfer when my phone was about to die. At that point, I had transferred 57.2GB from my phone to the flash drive at 9.3mbsec. It started out at 35 to 40mbsec, but eventually slowed down. This is typical with large transfers, so my next tests were to transfer files in smaller batches which will result in much faster write speeds.I transferred a 2.00GB movie from my phones microSD card to the flash drive at 19.4mbsec. 1 minute and 43 seconds.I transferred 7.23GB from my laptop to the flash drive at 18mbsec.I transferred the same files 7.23MB from the flash drive back to my laptop at 97.7mbsec.I used both the My Files app which was already on my phone and the Memory Zone app which is supplied on the Flash Drive. The speed wasnt different by the method, but the Memory Zone app seemed easier since I could decide to choose the files by type or by location.Overall, I liked the drive very much and would recommend it as a fast, compact drive with a large storage capacity.

This drive is very high quality with its metal case, and having both USB formats makes it very versatile. The size is small and the rotating input for USB 3 or C has a catch that holds it in place while in your pocket. Also got BB to price match so it was a great deal for the 256GB drive.
Nimoy –
Its USB A. Its USB C. Its fast. Its of a high quality build with a satisfying movement and click when the end is switched. This is my new EDC Everyday Carry on my keyring. I dont trust plastic flashdrives to hold up in my pocket I had two fall apart. This is the way to go for the therewhenyouneedit solution.

Perfect for what I need. I had data that I had to move over from an old computer that only had the old usb connection to an XPS that only has the usbcs. So this was the one Ive been looking for so to say. Its also just is a great sleek design. Conveniently small, build quality is surprisingly tough. Fast too. I could go on because Im a nerd. But I wont bore you. Just get it. You wont regret it.
Kevin –
Probably wouldnt burn your skin but its uncomfortable to touch for more than a couple seconds when taking it out. Also, BestBuy wont allow me to post my previous review saying the same thing

I never expected to loveor have any kind of feelingfor a mere flash drive, so Im surprised at my response to the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive USB 3.1. Nearly every time I move it from my laptop to my desktop computer and back, Im impressed by how cool it is on many levels.First, appearance elegant brushed aluminum with gold lettering. Second, efficient rotate the drive body one way and it clicks into place to fit the C drive on my newer Mac laptop rotate it the opposite way and it fits into the standard USB port on my older Mac desktop. Third, sturdy, allmetal construction no plastic tabs to break off. Fourth, capacious 128 GB of storage in a space the size of the first digit of my thumb. Fifth, inexpensive about 20 bucks. Finally, no negative qualities. Who could ask for more
Anonymous –
Its perfect. I can use it on my laptop from work and bring it home to my personal MacBook Pro and continue working on my files here. Its pretty sleek and smooth to the touch because of the chromesilver look it has. The only thing Ive noticed is that it can get pretty hot, however Im not sure of its because I use it for hours at a time or because of the material. Regardless, its worked fine for me intil now.
Gman –
Im so glad I found this drive. It solves the issue between my two laptops with one having a USB 3.0 and the other USBC. The driver is really small. It can be conveniently be attached to a key ring or lanyard so that it is easier to keep up with it. Ive only used it a couple of times so far and it seem to be working great.
Photobeth –
This is incredible, I got it on deal of the day and Im super impressed. I can move back and forth from computer to computer. And save large projects… no adapters between type C USB…. and I dont have to Carry around an external HD…..
Christopher –
Full disclosure this is my first TypeC usb drive. After reading about these speed of these devices for months, I finally purchased the 64G model on sale for the speed and the convenience of the dual typeAtypeC portability. The read speed was, indeed, everything for which a typeC was lauded. The write speed is very fast for large files, but for numerous thousands of small files the drive often slows to a crawl. I suspect this is not a specific issue to this device, but a function of usb devices in general, as all my typeA drives slow down similarly when archiving these same files. However, for under 20, I couldnt be happier. This drive allows me complete and convenient file portability to my older typeA devices. As others have likely noted, it does heat up quite a bit, but not alarmingly. Caps to protect the ports would have been a nice touch. Great buy for the price
LAn8ive –
Based on some reviews, people have very strict standards for flash drives. Im not too picky when it comes to flash drives so take that into consideration with this review. Im just looking for something that works when I plug it in. Im generally pretty careful with my stuff so Ive never had any break on me. This one seems well made and does what I want it to do. I wanted a USBC drive so I dont always have to carry my USBC adapter for my MacBook Pro. Got this for a great price and it does its job.
CTmom –
I did like that when I plugged this in to my android phone, it immediately recognized the unit and gave me the option to transfer or copy my nearly 3000 pictures. It did take a LONG time to do so but that is not surprising seeing as there were so many.I have not gotten my computer to recognize the unit when I plug it in but I will keep working on that.It does have an option to clean up junk files but it keeps crashing every time I try.I love the storage. I transferred almost 3000 pictures and it barely made a dent in the capacity. It did not come with a detailed instruction manual but they are easy to find on line. I will keep using it and work on all the things it can do.
Yodani –
excellent and sturdy. the dual use of USB A and USB C are perfect. I work in a very industrial line of work. this hold up on a key ring and doesnt break like the plastic ones.
NitroNukeX –
I use this USB drive for my new Macbook Air M1.Perfect companion as this has both the USBC port and also the conventional USB on the other end.Drive feels premium like a piece of solid metal and is well build.Speed is also very fast and moving large files feels zippy.Definitely recommended especially if you have the newer macs without the conventional USB ports.
CoolBasement –
I picked this up almost on a whim, and it is amazing. The build and design feel very high quality, and I love that it has USBC at one end and USBA at the other, so it can plug into almost any device. When you swivel the connector around to expose the other end there is a very satisfying click as it snaps into place. It also has a huge capacity 128GB, and is very fast USB 3.1. Great device that will last for many years.
Stacey333 –
This SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB TYPEC is the perfect little storage device to have for an over flow catcher when it comes to saving pictures and videos to that you just cant bear to part with on your phone. Just move them over and free up space on your device while keeping your precious memories safe.
Larry –
I wasnt expecting this drive to be this small. Ive used both the A C connections with no problems. Amazing. 512GB on this small drive. Easy formatting to Apple File System. So far no problems. Hope I dont loose it. Size fits perfectly on my MacBook Pro and doesnt stick out to where my leg or knee could bend the connection.
Kim37 –
This USB device works exactly how intended. The USB 3 is very fast, even across the USBC. The swivel feature on it is very nice and makes it very compact. Compared to my other USB flash drives, this one is better because it is more versatile and can be used on a phone, in a car, etc. I would definitely recommend this product.
Sheldon –
I bought two, one for me and one for my daughters new iPad. They work perfectly and appear to be beautifully made Having read previous reviews before purchase, I will agree they do get a bit warm. I dont know how much of an issue this may become as Ive not transferred any large files. They are small, which could be a blessing or curse. I would suggest a short lanyard be attached to facilitate handling and security.
Dual Luxe Drives –
One of my Luxe flash drives did not work. After a couple days I tried again and it worked. I used same instructions both times. After working it was great to download photos and files.
Runner –
Surprisingly fast transfer. The dual sided USB is great for newer and older systems alike Working flawlessly in my smart TV for playing videos photos and music. Slides on and off a keychain with ease.
Eric –
Sleek design and very compact and the stainless steel housing makes it durable. The USB 3 interface is fast. Overall, its well worth the money
RobertC866 –
Back in the day I would carry around a few floppys and a whole heap of rescue CDs and DVDs Today I carry this around with A bit of open source software I can do all and more with this one than I did in the past… and to boot I can download the isos on the phone and transfer them direct to the USB stick so I dont even need the laptop now. Disclaimer your mileage may vary and you will need to know what you are doing. When I am not using it in that mode I often change the file system to ext4 or exfat so I can work around the 4gb barrier. Pros can carry a lot of data around yes there is bigger solutions too Cons the original fat16fat32 file system is its biggest limitation Summery if you know what you are doing there is no problem it works… If you just need to carry a hole heap of small files there is nothing wrong with its original file system. I carry around one with that file system any way, so I can plug it in to a device that can only read the older file system.
kenny –
The drive works just fine. I have only placed a few small files on it so I have not transferred any big files which might take a long time to download and cause the drive to overheat,One thing that surprised me is how small the drive is.
Kevin –
The design to use both USB C and A is pretty cool, good price, nice and small. But holy crap this thing gets way hotter than it should for something Im sticking into a USB port. I genuinely recoiled after I grazed it while typing. I dont think its hot enough to actually burn me, but its uncomfortable to hold for more than a couple seconds after removing it.
BrettAlex –
This drive crashes my system when plugged into one of the two builtin USB cards. As soon as the drive is plugged in, the computer reboots. I have used many other USB drives including 3.1 that does not do this. I do not recommend this drive.
Joseph –
Excellent quality. Performs as expected. Nice to have TypeA and TypeC immediately available for use between multiple devices. Amazon is cheaper, but BB pricematched.
Rueman –
Great versatile drive. Love the two connector option. Durable construction, small and connects to a key ring.
Anonymous –
Its a little smaller than I expected it to be, but it still works as advertised and is a nice product. Do be aware that when you flip the drive around between USB A and USB C, there may be scratches. Both the drive and the swivel cover are metal and mine has small scuffs after day one. Not terrible, but something to note.
Jacoblee0123 –
Like the concept of being on the go storage. Kept plugged into my phone or computer for even a short amount of time it heats up so hot i wonder if its going to get damaged. Hopefullt it was just mine and others dont have thia problem.
nmar –
Sleek and compact. Easy to use. Easy swivel action to flip between USB C and USB. Quick, easy and fast transfer to backup.
eseries –
My main impression is that the build quality is exceptional for the money. I already use Sandisk dual drives for their versatility and futureproofing due to USB A and C compatibility, including the plastic Dual Drive GO which has the same design but minus the metal construction. The Dual Luxe feels decidedly premium and will be my goto from now on. The Dual Drive Luxe being available in capacities up to 1TB is impressive, but I wouldnt necessarily trust so much data to a drive of this type a Samsung T7 or similar would be well worth the extra bulk. Sandisk USB flash drives have a reputation for getting uncomfortably hot, especially during heavy use. But when all is said and done, I feel that this drive is the best allrounder on the market today for lightmoderate use case scenarios.
Martin –
Technology is certainly amazing. 256GB on an incredibly tiny allmetal device that supports both USB TypeA and TypeC for 32. I still remember 140KB floppies. This is the equivalent of 1.8 million of them. Or the equivalent of 320,000 800Kb Mac 3.5 floppies. If youre using it on a Mac only and plan to put very large files on it like video files, youll need to reformat the drive using the Macs Disk Utility. The native PC format doesnt support very large files. But if you do that, you wont be able to use the drive on a PC. This has nothing to do with any limitations of the drive, but rather is a limitation of Microsofts file formats.
Juli –
Im using this with a 2019 MacBook Pro, using After Effects. It FAILS OUT if I try to write outputs directly to the drive. This is the whole reason I bought it and Im annoyed. I never had this problem with USB drives.I dont know if its a compatibility problem or a MacBook pro problem.
K2KLEIN –
Great Product Love the new technology The fact it can do both USBC and USB is Awesome Quality is the best
jovit52 –
Sandisk has always been a great product I learned the hard way. DONT BUY CHEAP ELECTRONICS Just spend the little extra and get it right the first time
Daniel –
The SanDisk flash drive is nice and compact. I appreciate the fact that it is made of metal and is very sturdy. It works well and has a fast transfer speed.
Pieter –
So I transferred about 50 gb of video footage to this, and it got very very hot, basically had to either move quickly or use a cloth between my fingers and hands to touch this cause its way too hot to the touch after working it out a bit. Feels well built and snaps one way or another quite nicely but ouch if you give it a workout
TechUser –
Nice USB flash drive. This drive makes it very convenient to move files from a computer with a standard USB to a tablet or phone with a TypeC. Put your videos on it and watch them on your tablet or phone directly from the drive.
June –
Gives you an option to create a folder for your items but no way to actually save the folder. Got my pictures copied to this item and connected to my chromebook but doesnt give a way to download to my chromebook. Ill have to do further research to find out how to save the pictures to it.
WCAT –
I like the sturdiness, storage capacity, and speed. Its a wellknown brand. I have not had any issues with it. I love that it has a hole to put on a key chain so you dont lose it. I like that it is one piece with no cap for it like older versions of usb flash drives.
gamooth –
Ab so lutelyStunning…The performance of this item is a perfect add all my other Dandisk equipmentIm attempting to give it 5 stars, but the app on my phone isnt allowing me to
backerly –
The SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 512GB USB 3.1, USB TypeC Flash Drive is a well thought out device housed in a metal case. The dual USB device can be accessed using either the USB Type A or USB Type C connectors which are located on either end of the device. The USBC connector allows access to Android devices that connect using Type C USB which allows offloading of photos, music, etc. saving space on Android smartphones. The 512GB capacity and metal outer cover should provide years of storage use at a reasonable price. This device is well designed, easy to use, and built to last.
roger –
We did buy 4 of these for videos. We use it on Laptops with USB 3 C, HP, and MAC. It is fast when on a USB 3 or 3.1. 400MBs and may slow to 40MBs. When its timesensitive and needs to move fast, this works. Only thing is, it gets HOT I am concerned about how long it will last or may drain a laptop battery fast. Not sure if we will buy this again. We will see how long it lasts.
buckeyestargazer –
I never thought I would be this excited over a simple USB flash drive, but this SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe truly is luxurious.I love the look and feel of this small drive. First, it is all metal construction and you can really feel the difference between this and other plastic drives.Second, with most other drives you use your thumb to push out the connector end, and what inevitably happens is that after a few repeated movements that connection becomes loose, so when you go to push the thumb drive into a USB port the drive gets pushed back up in the casing. Not so with this awesome design. The drive has a USBC connector and USBA connector that swivels around the center of the case. And the drive clicks firmly into place so it wont move at all. Its a well thought out design.Third, this thing is tiny. It can easily be attached to a key chain and not take up much room at all.Of course most importantly it functions well and fast, using the USB3.1 standard. Plugging the drive into my PC worked great. Same thing with plugging in to my mobile phone. It is plug and play for both. Very easy to transfer files from phone to computer etc.The drive comes preloaded with a SanDisk mobile app, but I didnt install it.If youre looking for a high capacity drive with a little bit of flash, this one fits the bill.
ryan87 –
My Chromebook doesnt have much internal storage, making this Sandisk USBC thumb drive the perfect solution. Theres no tricky software or drives to install upon first use, which is always a plus. Its so small too perfect for keychains. When you swivel the drive open or closed, it locks in place, which is nice as Ive had plenty in the past get torn off their hinges after rotating around in my pockets. All in all, this is a great piece of hardware for USBC devices.
MigDigital –
This is review of SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 512GB USB 3.1, USB TypeC Flash Drive SilverThe drive is little shorter than the size of paper clip of 4.75cm with same wide 1cm, light and easy to flip the cover to switch between USBC to USBA and vice versa. As obvious might sound per its size, it is practical to carry in a pocket or a bag, in the same time highly easy to not to find it. Fortunately, it has keyring hole that come handy for attachment to a keychain for instance.Flipping the cover to switch between type of USB is simple, it makes a click sound as it reach to complete cover of the other end.On speed of transfer, copying files total size of 3.88 gb from MacBook Pro 13 2020, it took about 1 min. The copied files were only flat document files in PDF, TXT, and Doc.A bit of detail in the usage1. I can flip the cover switching between type of usb with one hand, but it feels slippery and hard to grab. Naturally it is due to the material and size but good to know in advance,2. In MacBook Pro based on use on with 13 2020, it gets quite hot in less than a minute period just for having it plugged. Compared to in Dell XPS 13, doesnt do the same effect.Aside of little details in overall is sturdy and practical add on.
RajPatil –
Like the compact design and cover. I use regularly use transferring files from my work computer to personal PC. I choose this because it is compact, and it is not Plastic
NotBobMontgomery –
With a swivel, the connector switches from USBA to USBC, making it simple to transfer data between devices. Transfer is fast, particularly read access, fast enough that its easy to see the difference in speed between USBA and USBC. The 512GB of storage is great, and once encrypted I use it as a portable backup drive for key files. The solidly made aluminum case feels like it will last forever, and without the plastic waste that has become so common. This drive is really small, not even reaching the first knuckle from the tip of my finger. The case has precut holes to put it on a lanyard or key ring, but the size and ease of transport will make it a good candidate to lose.Fast, small, and portable, this makes the perfect drive to transfer large data sets or use as a portable backup just make sure you encrypt it in case you lose it.
Glenn –
The storage rotates. Looked down one day and entire piece was missing. Fell out. Disappointing.
Mattman –
I am one of the few people that is ready for USBC everything. But most of the people I work with arent. This is perfect for me to use with my iPad Pro and MacBook Pro and then be able to use it with those that I work with at the same time without needing any adapters. Perfect thing that I always have on my keychain.
Benjo –
Dual use Fast as always from Sandisk, type C works good, transfer of data from PC to mobile devices gets easier, type C is the future lol, build quality is waaaaay better than normal usb flashdrives since this is the Luxe version, so its all metal, only downside which i consider normal is it tends to get warm, but thats normal, but it keeps the data with no problems, would recommend 100
Melly90 –
This TypeC USB is perfect for my tablet and smartphone. I dont have a laptop, so I tend to use my tablet like one. This USB makes it so much easier to store and backup files since I dont always use the cloud for backup and 64 GB is plenty for me. Transferring is simple and you can not only copy images and videos to the USB, but documents as well, which is what Im mainly using it for. I also really like the USBs design it has a really sleek highquality silver look and feel. The USB case swivels to protect the USB itself, which is a neat feature, and can also be stored on a keyring for easy access wherever you go.
KRoch –
I am very pleased with this USBC drive. Extremely fast transfers, and such a small profile, approximately the width of a USBA port. When I transferred a very large file, it did get just a tad warm. But it never ran hot, and it wasnt so warm that I couldnt handle it immediately after. Its rugged, reliable and I found it stylish as well. I use a Mac for my business and an HP for personal use, and the drive worked flawlessly with both. I really loved the premium metal design as well. The drive is heavy, it swivels nice, and clicks into place. Im quite content with the value. Will purchase additional in the future.
MaraLee –
Love this sturdy little metal flash drive. The dual USB and USB type C makes it extra handy and will not become outdated any time soon. 128GB supplies lots of storage for photos or music files. Getting it for a fraction of the original price makes for a sweet deal
Fish –
Amazing amount of storage in a small package, and it even has two types of connections. I got a carabiner and ring to attach because I was afraid it was so small it would be easy to use. Great buy.
CAED –
This is compact, lightweight, downloads quckly and holds a huge amount of data. I put everything off of 2 computers on it and the process hardly took any time. Well worth the price
Esfoad –
Small outside but huge storage space. And fast, I mean really fast transfer speed. Its also well made of metal. Perfect for my needs.
ErzaScralet –
Disappointed with the performance of this drive tremendously. Out of the package, plug into a Windows desktop it is formatted at FAT32 No file bigger than 4GB can be written onto it. Terrible. Quick fix just format it to exFAT so it can be used on most OS and have no file limit. File transfers are SO SLOWWWW though that it makes this a chore to use. Moving 7 files, ranging from 1.854.5GB each in size, 19.5GB total, it took over 15 minutes to do It started at around 64MBs and after about 40 seconds TANKED and just lingered the rest of the way at 2223.1MBs. Unacceptable for a drive in 2021I was using the USBA side, into a USB 3.0 port, as I dont have a USBC port on my case at the front and it was easier than reaching around back for the USBC on rear of motherboard. Even still, old thumb drives I have had for over 56 years perform better than this one The ONE single saving grace is the usefulness of having both USBA and USBC so you dont need to worry about adapters or dongles. The metal casing, while a premium touted feature, makes this drive very, very warm to the touch. Attached a cropped image of the transfer window, and this was about 910 minutes into a transfer after doing the format to exFAT to copy two files over 4GB in file size. The convenience of this may not be enough to overlook the absolutely terrible performance for a thumb drive, I may return it in a couple days. Id rather get one that performs as its advertised and I pay for, as Im sure cheaper 3.0 USB drives will perform better than this.25 for quality, as its nice design, but gets warm to touch and the swivel isnt locking as smooth as I would imagine. 15 on value because performance is terrible in transferring files, and ease of use is 15 because out of the box it imposes file limits by being FAT32, and while its an easy fix, I imagine not everyone knows to format it to exFAT out of the box as they will just plug it in and use as it is.Not recommended

Ive had this product for a few days and put all of my pictures on it to free up space on my computer. It hold so much I cant believe it. The quality of the photos are amazing and the fact I can put it on my key chain is amazing

ConI bought 2 of these. Both of them get uncomfortably hot 95.5F as soon as they are plugged in, without reading or writing anything. All my 20 other flash drives do not get warm.ProThey look and feel good on my keychain.

Excellent USB stick, works great on both my Samsung phone and laptop with the dual connectors and swivel design. Great data size. Cannot fault this awesome product.

SanDisk Dual Drive Luxe is small and compact. It has both USBA and USBC 3.1 gen 1 interfaces. For those with a USBC smart phone or tablet, this should help you to transfer files from the device to your computer. Its a 512GB flash drive with 460GB of usable space. It comes formatted FAT32, but I reformatted mine to exFAT due to FAT32s file size limitation. It is supposed to support up to 150MBs speeds. In my testing, I received 152MBs read speeds and write speeds up to 65MBs. The write speeds were inconsistent. It would go as low as 12MBs and jump up as high as 65MBs. I would like to have seen consistent and faster write speeds, but so far that is the only negative thing about it which is why I gave it 4 stars. It has a keyring hole which Ill use for a keyring and connect the keyring to a carabiner and use that inside of my backpack. This will keep it from working its way to the bottom of my backpack and will be easily reachable. It has a solid and well made metal case which did get warm when the drive was in use, but the heat didnt seem to cause any problems. The Luxe is small, convenient, and fast regarding read speeds. Im glad I have it and will be using it to transfer photos and video files as a backup while out and about.
Erisa –
Bought the 256gb version on sale. Nice usb its small, compact and sturdy and the metal construction does not feel cheap. Having both the usb type c and usba makes this very convenient.
Tysbestgirl –
Love this scan disk. Having the option or using the USB or the USBC is amazing. You can go from one computer to another. Love it
John –
I downloaded some images to this drive and it got hot. Removed the drive and allowed it to cool but it would not register in three different computers. Gave it two days and tried again without any luck. The drive became too hot to handle just from being plugged in.I will be returning it as defective.
Jack –
I use the 1 TB drive for ON1, PS and LR on my wifes MacBook Pro when we travel. No need to take my larger external drives along. I dont erase my camera cards on the road so have backup as well.
King –
Very satisfied with this SanDisk 512GB TypeC flash drive. I was able to transfer 300 GB of data including media files from my laptop within about 10 hrs. approx. 500 MBmin. It did get little warm at the end but thats understandable with such heavy duty work.
ArtS –
Plug and play with a great amount of storage. Feels really solid in the hand, as it is a metal build. Its heavier than your average flash drive, but again the quality is great. I did notice that it gets a bit warm from use, but nothing hazardous.
Elizabeth –
I bought this to share scanned photos between computers. I had to buy a new computer this year and, of course, its Windows 10. Then a couple of months ago, I was given an older film and slide scanner. The software wouldnt load on the Windows 10 computer. Rather than spend money on new software, I unpacked my Windows 7 laptop and set up a small workstation with the scanner. The scanned files are very large and rather than try to email them between computers or try to transfer over WiFi, I just copy them to the flash drive and walk them over to the new computer. I can use the USB Type A connection on my laptop which is only USB 2.0 and the USB Type C connection on my new desktop.

The design is really nice metallic case, quite heavy. The writing speeds are similar to my 5 year old usb flash drive expected some improvement after that time. A large file copy starts to be written at about 60MBs and quickly drops to 30MBs. My network magnetic drive writes at 89MBs. Not much special with CrystalDiskMark test results.

This Sandisk flashdrive packs a lot of storage space into a tiny package. Its only slightly bigger than the two connectors one usb c and a regular usb making it more versatile. Nice metal case with a swiveling cover and loop for keyring or lanyard. Its pretty small so try not to lose it.I transferred about 14 G of music files to test it out. Its write speed started out pretty fast at about 50MBsec but after a few minutes slowed down to around 15 MBsec. This is pretty normal for large file transfers to a flashdrive but likely will be fast for a smaller transfer.I then transferred them back to my hard drive to test the read speed and was pleasantly surprised as it showed consistent 140MBsec and was done in just a few minutes. Very fastIf somebody told me a few years ago that you could get 512 GB 490 free in such a small device and this fast I would have had a hard time believing them maybe not. Ive used many Sandisk storage devices and all have proven reliable. Great brandIt does get kind of warm when using it but the metal housing should act as a heatsink so it hasnt been a problem for me.
Brandon –
Read speeds hover around 150 as advertised, write speeds are around 60. The drive gets hot when copying large files due to its compact size and metal construction. Other than that, its pretty well made and easy to use.

Got this for my Grand daughter at school. Her laptop has only USB typeC connectors and the most convenient printers have only USB typeA connectors. With this drive she can not only interface with the printer but is able to move data and images between TypeA and TypeC equipped devices without the restrictions associated with wireless electronic communications. She can create documents on her laptop, save them to this drive and interface with devices having typeA USB connections. 256GB doesnt seem like much but it seems to more than adequate for these purposes.

Two week old MacBook Pro and I was expecting this drive to be faster than my old external hard drive way faster as in lightening fast Maybe I expect to much Next time I will do more research to understand the speed ratings on this or any other device like this.
sf2feilong –
I bought this for my Mac Book Pro since it came with a typeC port. I love it. I also like the fact that it was a rotating USB typeA port. The hole at the end fits perfectly on my keychain so I always have it available. The speed is nice compared to traditional USB drives. I fully recommend this product
TheDR –
This drive is small, very well built and feels sturdy.I bought this to use on a new MacBook with Apple M1 running MacOS 11.1 Big Sur and it does not work. The operating system does not recognize that the drive is plugged in. Older Macs and Windows 10 computers will recognize it and I will recommend it for them. After working with Apple support I was told that the drive is not compatible with M1 Macs. SanDisks Spec does sheet says MacOS X 10.9 and higher, but this is not accurate. Its too bad as it is really designed well. I would have given 5 stars if it worked with newer Macs.

this is a big chunk of memory in a compact but sturdy flash Drive. Im storing my entire music library on this device, in high quality WAV format, to have it everywhere I go. With the Ctype USB connector, I can even use it with my phone.

This was exactly what I needed. More of the modern laptops Ive gotten have included more Type C ports vs Type A ports. Theyve forced me to dig through my PC Accessories box to find Type A to Type C adapters when using normal flash drives. This SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe solves the problem elegantly with a flip cover design. Flip the cover and it exposes the TypeC connector, flip it again, and it exposes the Type A connector. The cover clicks in place and provides general protection for the opposite connector. The 512 GB of storage is accessible by both connectors. Read speeds are about 150 MBs and the sequential write speeds are about 50 MBs.The finish throughout the drive and clip is a very smooth satin finish. It sometimes feels like it can slip through my fingers, but using the hole at the end of the clip, I now have it tethered to a keyring.I hope these come down in price. I can see myself picking up several for my use.
emiliosic –
This is very compact, with an allmetal case. On one side its USBC and USBA on the other.Speeds is what one would expect from modern USB storage devices AJA System TestWrite about 50 MBsRead about 145 MBsComes preformatted with Fat32, with a PDF with a link to SanDisk MemoryZone on Androids Play Store, and the same android APK to sideload. Its about universally compatible Works with Android, MacOS, Windows, iOS With Apples Camera adapter unless on iPad Pros, which works directly, Android and Chromebook.Works on my older USB MacBook Pro, newer 2017, USBCC Thunderbolt, new Chromebook Intel 11th gen, Thunderbolt 4.I can use it on all my devices. Some small issues It gets quite hot. This also happens with other USB drives, but its worth noting. Connecting the USBC side to a computer sticks out too much, its not flush. Same happened on MacBook, PC Dell and Chromebook, so its clearly the drives design. Because of the doubleended design, there are no caps to protect the connectors from dust.
DangKhoa –
The drive has a nice weighty feel to it from the polished metal casingfinish. It makes it feel rather solid and dependable. I am using this for data backup as well as portability. The main reason I had purchased this is portability across platforms, particularly USBA and USBC interfaces Windows Mac platforms. So far, data read and write has been good. The 1star subtraction is for the LACK of dust caps to protect the male plugs from dirt and debris. It is incredibly compact, more so than I had expected…especially for the amount of data it handles I hope it will last a long time going forward and looking for the improvement of integrated capplug end protection
Eric –
Great product and performs very well. Its good if you need to move things from a device that has USBc to one that has USBa. The build quality is all metal and its super shiny.
WV2020 –
Very durable and easy to use product, I use it to transfer photos from my phone to laptop, or store. so convenient to carry around on a key chain. The transfer speed is good enough for the routine stuff.
Anonymous –
Small and easy to carry. But when you connect it and use it for sometime, it becomes hot. Other than that, it really helps to transfer files from computer to any C type device
Hazel –
So well thought out really nicely weighted in your hand and easy to use. Super fast delivery and great communication from Picstop recommended
Tony –
I bought several of these to deliver raw footage to my videography clients, and I really appreciate the flexibility of having both a USB C and A option Theyre solid, look great, process data fast, and have a lot of space for my needs. One note, I had to simply reformat them from FAT to exFAT in order to fit large video files onto them mine were over 9gb, but that only took 30 seconds or less.
Alex –
This is a very simple product, but does what its made to do very well.It feels very well built with nice solid metal. There are both a USB C and a USB A ports on the drive, which makes it very easy to use on all types of computers. There is a handy swiveling key ring type thing that protects the USB port thats not being used, while allowing you to attach to a lanyard or something so you dont lose it.The readwrite speeds seem real world very close to advertised, and the device gets warm, but not hot while using.Feels very well built, not flimsy when inserting into a computer.
Spotincincy –
Small size, great price. Perfect to use for my keychain as an extra backup for photos and portable document needs. USB and USBC ports mean Im good no matter which laptop I bring with me. A thumb drive. Looks great too.
Shogun –
This is a very good storage device. I like that it has a USBA and USBC interface which makes it very convenient to have. The metal construction seems very sturdy. Overall its very good but has a couple of things that prevent me from giving it 5 stars. During data transfers, it starts out really great with fast speeds but it gets hot very quickly and the speeds throttle down as a result. I think if it was a little bigger, they could add some heat dissipating measures.
Duane –
I purchased two of these flash drives in order to downsize my flash drive collection. I appreciate the capacity and physical size of these drives. They do the job for which they were designed well and with style all in a compact package.
Juice –
The type C USB is good for saving the professional Ipad notes on since it uses a C type input also some of the Cell phone use the type C input. It is very convenient to save to. I like the 64 GB storage which is a lot of storage.
Anthony –
Versatile storage as more and more devices move to USBC. Great to have the legacy full size USB port as well for older devices or drsktop computers. Fast read and write too. Perdect
Nicki –
Handy device for transferring documents, pictures, etc. from pc to phone and phone to pc. I use it to transfer videos from my phone to my work pc. Easy to use and beginner friendly.
TommyBoy –
Powerful little package. Carries so much so easily. Have to be careful as it is soo very small. The concept is superb. Time will tell how practical and safe it is as an investment. I am excited.
Bduguid –
My favorite aspect of this drive is the solid metal build. It seems pretty sturdy. The performance seems good enough, but I havent benchmarked it. I purchased the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 64GB USB 3.1 when it was on a crazy sale. The only thing I dont like is that a connector end is always exposed. The swivel only protects one end and there is no cap. This was clear to me when I purchased it and isnt a big deal to me.
SatisfiedCustomerCC –
The SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 128 USB worked well and accomplished all that I needed it to do. I would have given 5 stars if it had not become so hot during data transfer that I was afraid that the chip inside would melt.
vuttok –
This flash drive blew me away. I can not believe how sleek it looks and how small it is. Its metal frame adds a cool touch to it. The transfer of data is super fast. Now, I am good to go as can transfer data to and from my computer and phone with relative ease. I love it.
Jim in CT –
This Flash Drive is very fast, does not get excessively hot during reading or writing, seems reliable so far. Its very small compared to the older Ultra sticks I have been using for years I may put a lanyard on it to avoid misplacing it. The Type C connector allows it to plug into newer phones and tablets easily, without the need for an adapter.
Dan –
Fast, well built, great capacity. I have it formatted as HFS for Macs, and I use both the older TypeA side of the drive as well as the newer TypeC side, day in and day out. It is on my keychain now as my primary pocket drive.Highly Recommended.
Liam –
This is a really nice flash drive. It offers both USB A and USB C connectivity which provides flexibility in using it with different systems that do and do not have USB C. The design of this flash drive is excellent, it is very sleek and is made of sturdy materials. I tested transferring several different files to this drive over USB C and got fast and consistent transfer speeds to this drive. If you are transferring a lot of data to it at once, it can get pretty hot. Even when transferring a few gigabytes to it, I noticed that it had heated up some. That being said, I did not notice any issues transferring files despite the increased heat. It is really nice that this drive has so much storage in such a small and compact size. If you have any devices that have limited internal storage, this would be a great option to add additional storage space at a very affordable price. This would also work great for transferring files between older machines with USB A and newer machines with USB C. My only concern with storing that much data in a device of this size is it can be much easier to lose compared to a regular external hard drive. Overall, this is a great flash drive that is welldesigned and has lots of storage
Andrew –
I love this little flash drive The metal construction makes me comfortable keeping it on my keychain. Yes, it is metal and not metallic looking plastic. It is nice and compact, and I love having both USB and USB C. A friend was admiring it today. I removed one star because, as other reviewers have noted, it does get very hot when transferring large files.

SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 512GB USB 3.1, USB TypeC Flash Drive SilverThis 512GB Dual USB drive is the latest generation of the dual drives from a year ago.It supports a slightly faster interface and is small in size, all metal, larger capacity, but has no closed capped position. When testing I used my main PC that supports the latest USB standards as well as my Android phone. I used 2 programs. 1st was Crystal Benchmark, the 2nd was USB Flash Benchmark. The read speeds are stated as up to 150MBs. I got 154.88MBs on SEQ1M Q8T1 setting, with 114.36 on SEQ128K Q32T1. The write speeds were considerably slower, but they always are.My test shows 35.75MBs SEQ1M Q8T1 and 40.73 SEQ128K Q32T1.When inserted it comes up as a USB 3.2 drive.I tested it against last years Dual drive that was USB 3.0. It was no faster in the Sequential reads and writes. However, the new drive did obtain 2.5 time faster Random Reads and about 2 times faster random writes. So, all in all it is a slight improvement from last years device. The real jump comes in capacity. Last year the largest drive I was able to get my hands on was 128GB. I was just unable to get anything larger for whatever reason. With the 2nd program I could see that the speed of the drive drops off at around 256KB in file size. With larger files it toped off at 158.9 MBs read and 69.8MBs write. Smaller files took much longer, as normal to any drive trying to handle them.I am very happy with this new larger capacity being available. The price will start to drop as more and more factories come online.A thing to note, the all metal case gets very hot when being pushed to write. Reading does not seem to get overly hot, but writing is above normal. This could just be because of the metal case is transmitting more of the heat outside, as a way to cool the flash chip. Larger capacity means longer writes, and they have to get rid of the heat somehow. The bottom line for me is this is a great drive. Its slightly faster than any other drive I have and is 4 times larger in capacity while being smaller to have on your key chain. My only negative is I wish it had a closed position, but hey, thats just me. Oh, and one other thing. I almost had to use a chain saw to get it out of the packaging. I cut at the line, then lower, then lower, then got my razor knife and started in on the plastic around the drive.
MichaelC –
The dualinterface USBA and USBC design is great, makes for a perfect drive to carry around for random uses since you sometimes dont know what type of port will be available. Initial speed is about 75MBs write 150MBs read, but after a minute or so of writing data, it becomes quite hot and the write speed slows down to 3040MBs.
DonnieZ –
I am truly amazed at this little USB storage device. Ill date myself and say I recall when my first 20MB hard disk drive was 700 and was slower than molasses, andyet we were glad to have it, but now we can have 512GB in something smaller than my finger with two flavors of USB on tap for a fraction of that price. As a Mac user, this device is perfect. My iMac only has USBA and my MBP is USBC. This saves so much time not having to hunt for dongles and makes large file transfers between devices easy. The write speed on this is pretty good. I was copying some large files from my iMac to this and 4.x GB transfer took less than two minutes to the drive, and well under 60 seconds to transfer back from the USB storage device to the iMac. Transfer speeds were similar on my MacBook Pro using USBC.If youre considering a high capacity, high performance USB flash device, Id strongly recommend the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type C. Like most of us, youre probably still straddling your existing devices that have USBA as well as your newer devices with USBC. Its got the connectivity you need for today and tomorrow in a tiny, yet powerful package. You can even hang it on your key ring so you always have it with you
Hector –
In terms on read and write speeds its definitely not the fastest to transfer files. In my test with Black Magic Disk Speed Test I averaged about 60mbs write speeds and read speeds at about 150mbs. Out of the box its formatted to FAT32 so I had no issue using the flash drive on both my Macbook Pro and my phone. The flash drive comes preloaded with Sandisks Memory Zone app for android, which makes it pretty easy to clear up storage on your phone and transfer them to the flash drive.Of course the main selling point to me for this flashdrive was the build quality and the size of the flashdrive. The entire flashdrive is about the size of a regular house key and its crazy to imagine that SanDisk was able to fit 1tb of storage onto it.The flash drive feels good in your hands with its metal design, the hole at the top of the flash drive allows me to keep the flash drive on my key ring for files for having instant access to my files where ever I go.The USBC and USBA interface means I can grab files from anyone while im on the go.To sum it up its definelty not the fastest drive out their, but in terms and size, build quality, and design, to me this flashdrive is a no brainer.
Leslie –
I used this to transfer 5 CDs of medical images and still have more storage than Ill probably ever use. It was super simple to use and nice to have both sizes of plugs.
Nathan –
The temperature rises a bit. Theres a specific side that my type c usb is more stable on and basically means that I can only use one side. The swinging mechanism is a bit tough to spin. I can imagine some people complaining about it but im ok with it. Other than that it works fine as a USB.
GD3X –
This has to be the best flash drive I have bought. Heavy little thing, all metal construction. The quality and speed are great. Nice small drive.
Edgar –
Very convenient and easy to transfer pictures and video onto it from my Samsung Galaxy phone. Already bought a second one. Highly recommend it.
Sam –
Just plugged it to my iMac it started to overheat . I could not transfer anything to the Ultra USB 3.0 123.87GB WHY NOT SURE I am doing it all researching but nothing works . Bought it a BH a few months ago but never used it will call Sandisk to get support
Patrick –
Hot in every sense of the word. Works reasonably well, not near as fast as advertised. 315 gig of movie files took about 3.f hours over a 3.0 USB connection. So far working slow but flawlessly.
kam8546 –
I absolutely love this. I downloaded my pictures from my phone. I put them from this drive onto my computer . Both steps were simple to do. The size is perfect. It can go into a purse, backpack, or even a wallet. It is very durable and the quality is great. I will definitely buy this in the future.
PghArch –
Great speed copying files over USB 3.1. Love that I can use the same flash drive on my USBC only personal computer and work desktop. Small size and light weight means it stays on my keychain.
Tvbuyer –
Great item for the price. I do have a fear of data loss due to the heat that it generates. So I really only use it for quick one time large file transfers between devices.
Geoff –
It gets warm, like maybe 95 to 115 degrees. Not hot. It is very fast in recording video as its recorded. And the USB A or C male plug is really a game changer.
Ananth –
The best thing about this flash drive is dual connectivity. It really helps when I can transfer files from my MacBook to a windows desktop which has only USB A ports. Its allmetal design helps for durability.
P –
Great durable matalic case. It works amazingly fast read and writes. To keep from misplacing it, I attached a bright colored soft cord.

The 128GB Scan Disk works very well with my new computer . When I hit save, Everything is saved in three seconds, It is very fast. It was well worth the price I paid for it.

I got this memory stick a few weeks ago and its so good I must recommend it to all. I needed something that connects to my phone as well as computer. This memory stick has two sides, one is a typical USB connection and the other is a USB type C. The regular USB is the type that goes into computers and laptops. The USB type C is a newer connection that goes into my phone Samsung Galaxy S21. Most new android phones have this type C port for charging. Now this memory stick goes into my phone port and can help with backing up all my documents that are on my phone. Or I can use it to load things especially large files onto my phone. The device has an app that you download that can help with automatically backing things up. Its actually really good but I personally prefer to manually move things onto the memory stick. The feel of this memory stick is really good. It has a premium look and feel and it clicks from one USB connection to the other. Its pretty small as well so you can keep it in your pocket or purse and it wont take up space. It has a key ring hole and thats what I did with mine, stuck it on my key ring. That way I always have it with me.Overall I would highly recommend this product. My only complaint is that its only 64GB but most people wouldnt need more than that
Renee –
I purchased a less expensive drive at a local store but had trouble seeding it into the devices, and it felt cheaply made. This one was a little more expensive but worked right away.
TomC –
It is small but has a ton of storage. I was able to backup my hard drive with it. I like it being metal instead of plastic it should last a long time.
John –
They really feel like they are very well made however, they dont work in my 2017 Chevy Impala. When I insert it into the USB port its not recognized and the car will not recognize my phone when the drive is inserted. If I install a 3.0 flash drive everything works as it should. Im thinking its because its a 3.1 not a 3.0 flash drive. If youre not buying it for your car to play music it works fine.
David –
Uncomfortably hot after just transferring a couple hundred MB to it, either using USBA or USBC. The first 100200MB transfer at expected speed, after that, speed drops by 3040, presumably being throttled back for heat management. It stays warm while plugged in, even if it isnt being used. Sandisk has agreed to replace it under warranty expecting a new unit back from them in 2 weeks.
Athlete2012 –
I have a MacBook Pro for personal use, but have a Microsoft PC for work use. Using this flash drive, I am able to transfer files from both computers easily. The only down side to this Its metal so it will get hot when entered into the computer for even a short period of time.
Drew –
This flash drive work great with my IPad and new MacBook, both only having UBBC ports. I am planning on buying a few more. I wish they came in different colors.
dtw757 –
Great for increasing storage on my IPad Air….gets a little hot when transferring photos on the Ipad when transferring photos to it. Would purchase again
JeanMarie –
This little flash drive looks solid and of high quality. Does not look cheap. Having USB C and A on the same unit is a plus these days. Fast readwrite too. Gets hot when transferring lots of data.
Didi78 –
I used this flash drive to transfer files from my laptop and Ill tell you that it rocks Enough storage to work with, and not bulky. Its really small, so I have it on a lanyard to keep from losing it. I definitely recommend this flash drive, as it does what its supposed to do.
LSoares –
Not much to say. Working well.. Im not someone that needs to test speed of USB memory sticks.. Does get a little warm, but I dont transfer large amounts of data.
Mirela –
This SanDisk Dual Drive is very useful as I can switch easily from one device to another. I can store and transfer a lot of files effortlessly. Its also perfect for travel. When plugged into any device its stable and do not eject by itself. However, sometimes Im concerned because the SanDisk becomes really hot. But, so far it works great.
Krume –
Incredibly fast performance. Not all computers have USBC as of this writing. As more computers have USB C connectors, this will become more valuable. Saving time is what this is all about.
Eric –
Its an absolute steal at 17.99. These days, so many laptops have only USB C and some have both. This one solves so many problems. Its small enough to keep it in my key chains and always there when I need it. I only go the 64 gb since these days many are on the cloud system.

The SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 512GB USB 3.1, USB TypeC Flash Drive whew, thats a mouthful is a classy, beautiful, small, huge capacity USBA to USBC thumb drive. It is exactly what I needed and I didnt even know it existed I have an older HP Laptop with only USBA ports that has a lot of photos, songs and videos stored on its hard drive. I had no idea how I would transfer those media files to my Dell XPS with its USBC port. I got this thumb drive and it was a very simple way to transfer those files by copying them with one end then swivel the thumb drive to expose the other side and copy those media files to my new laptop. It was so quick and easy I couldnt believe itThe packaging states this is compatible with Android smartphones. I dont have one so I cant confirm that aspect of the thumb drive.I love this little drive I would recommend it to anyone looking to transfer files from a USBA to USBC. USBC is going to be the default USB port soon enough and its good to be prepared.
GeekWhoMaths –
Purchased this as a bootable drive that was used to restore a Windows 10 gaming laptop. Especially nice is the flexibility to use both a USB A and C connection.Worked perfectly. Speed was decent, no hiccups.
Aaron –
This flash drive is the best. Having USBC is a must and I can transfer files on the go with me no matter if I have my macBook or iPad Pro on me. Plus you still have the older USB for devices without the newer plugs. And the all metal design is great especially since the device gets hot when transferring files, I also have the plastic version of this drive and the metal seems to respond faster because it doesnt get as hot as quickly.
madan.saha –
It is not fast and that easy to transfer photos even with the Sundisk Memory Zone in phone. Totally unsatisfactory. For computers, it is ok.
Flurp –
Everything about these thumb drives appealed me to except the price, so I was pretty happy to seem them dropped down so drastically. Part of me was hesitant because I felt like such a drastic price drop more than 60 may indicate that they were dumping a bad product, which is not uncommon.I decided to gamble and grabbed a 512 GB version, and my suspicions immediately started to feel justified.First thing I did was plug the thumb drive into my phone so I could dump my camera roll onto it. In the time it took me to navigate to the camera rolls folder, the thumb drive was surprisingly warm.I decided that instead of doing it through the phone, I would just take the SD card out of my phone, dump the camera roll to my computer because I wanted a copy on there anyway, then I would copy the files to the thumb drive. When I started transferring the files I was immediately unimpressed by the transfer speeds I was getting compared to the older thumb drive I was using as a backup. This drive seemed to struggle and just hovered around 11 MBs.Worse than the speeds though was the heat. This drive didnt take long at all to get so hot it was actually quite uncomfortable to handle. While it did cool off fairly quickly after unplugging, getting that hot that quick hardly inspires much confidence. I havent had it long, but I have to wonder how long this thing could possibly last with any kind of regular use when it gets so hot. While I do really like its size and build quality, I have to give it 1 star due to the the disappointing speed compared to even older thumb drives I have, and its worrisome heating up. Part of me wanted to give it an extra star because I do really like its build quality, but I feel like its metal construction is probably the cause of its heat, but Im not qualified to say that with certainty.

I loved the original SanDisk USB CA flash drive and this version is even better. Ive been using SanDisk product for years now and when I Upgraded my Mac I started looking for reversible USB drives. I tried a few different brand but I always loved a solid metal or titanium drive. SanDisk nailed it with these new drives. Its basically as small as you could possible get a drive with this design. I tried the drives that just had a TypeC port on one end and TypeA on the other but I didnt like that I couldnt put it on my key chain. This drive is perfect for that. I dont do anything more than it needs and what it does do it does exactly as I would expect it. I own several of these now and Ive never had a problem with them.
rikur2006 –
Tested with Asus Z97A motherboard and got these results, full drive test Test finished without errors. Writing speed 22.3 MBytes Reading speed 67.8 MBytes H2testw v1.4 Other Drive is extremely small, witch is positive thing. Good looking also. Little bit slack on the hinge.
E –
Very fast USB stick, consistently so. Swivel system is robust too. The stick simply oozes quality, and the dual USB ports are so handy if you want to easily transfer files between an older and newer device. Highly recommended
vincent –
This drive is sturdy and reliable. The dualdrive is convenient and I love the quality. Its really fast and sleek I love how you can put this on a keychain and take it anywhere. The metal on the outside makes it last for long and yet it feels lightweight.
Ronald –
This product is amazing. It stores 1 TB in a tiny package and it is very fast I verified performance with several speed testing programs. What I like most is that it is compatible with both types of ports.
Backup –
The USB device is great to save memories……and have a backup. The cost is reasonable. The product is quality.Have used the product previously and am very satisfied.
Esquilax –
Very fast little USB drive. Only downsides I encountered are 1 it gets rather hot to the touch, not uncomfortably so, but not too far off and 2 one time it wouldnt allow me to copy multiple items at a time when the total file size was somewhat large 1GB. The copy would fail halfway through, and I had to copy the items one or two at a time. I havent tested to see if it will happen again, so 4 stars provisionally.
Paul –
I didnt know what to expect, but when I received my flash drive I was amazed at how small it was. Meets my expectations. I am concerned with whether or not dust will affect the ends. Time will tell. I may use a small case. Was a bit tight on the type a end, but expect that to be ok. I like it. In time I may love it.
Manny –
Great Dual Drive Flash Drive. Very fast reading and writing. Small we can carry it in a key chain. Very good product. Ideal to store pictures and more.
Brianne –
I got this and paid extra to get the Type C port for use with my new gaming computer which has a 3.1 Type C port. The Type A port worked fine but the C port was not recognized. I made numerous attempts to get it to work but all failed. Its not worth returning it so I paid more to get a Type A Flash Drive. I do not recommend this flash drive as it is harder to use than an ordinary Type A only drive..
Adam –
Ok so the USB TypeA port worked just fine and it was fast. BUT the TypeC side did not work at all and wouldnt mount on my MacBook Pro nor iPad Pro. Also, the device got so hot I could barely hold it leading me to question the durability of the drive. Heat kills drive.
Justin R. –
I was looking for the perfect flash drive, I needed significant storage space to handle booting of many different ISOs for system installs and troubleshooting. This one has a great solid hole to hook it to your key chain, I dont foresee the build quality being an issue. USB A and USB C are extremely nice to have on one device.
PJJJH –
The person making the transfer had no problem, and we had no problem retrieving the pictures from the drive that he put on it. He transferred from a PC and we transferred to an AppleMAC.
AdmiralAckbar –
Bought the SanDisk 64GB for additional storage for work files. It definitely has great speed but heats up very quickly. Ive never had a flash drive heat up like this.
AnitaPA –
The SanDisk app loaded easily will enable me to organize photos, videos etc in my phone. I wanted to download a bunch of photos onto the disk itself to transfer on flash drives as a backup but I can only transfer to a computer.. THEN onto the flash drive, making an extra step I hoped to avoid. The images I wanted to transfer were in my phone were already separate folders. Unfortunately, the SanDisk app doesnt let me access my folders, it only pulled EVERYTHING on my phone into long scrolls hard to see, which made this very difficult. I will continue working on learning more to get the most out of this. I like that it is a sturdy metal piece fits easily on my keychain and flips for dual use.

This is the perfect keychain USB drive I have a very limited key set that I keep on me. My car key, ebike battery key, mail key, sim card, multitool, and usb drive. For me this is the perfect keyring usb drive. My old drive was only USB A and I needed to dig in my bag if I even had my bag on me for my adapter when I was just trying to transfer a file. The other problem with USB A is that it got bent in my pocket and became unusable eventually. This USB drive protects the USB A side with a firm click, the USB C doesnt need the same type of protection. This has lived in my pocket for a week with a wreak or two on my one wheel and survived just fine. It isnt the fastest drive speed out there and I might not choose this drive for constant mass data transfers but one that is designed to be tiny and fit on a keychain isnt designed to do that. I am happy with the read and write speeds that I got off it. Its fast enough to play a video from the USB drive directly which the most Im looking for out of this.Overall it is an extremely well built small USB that gets the job done that I need done, that being transferring photos or video between my phone and laptop, tablet, projector, or desktop.

This SanDisk Dual Drive Luxe 512GB has both USB TypeC and TypeA, and makes it more useful than flash sticks with just a single interface. It performs as advertised, though runs hot. It delivers read speeds up to 150MBs, which is good enough for general office and school use. I was able to consistently get over 140MBs on USBC. Other drives on the market are faster in case youre dealing with photovideo or other large files. Once nice touch is the drive snaps firmly in place when you rotate to select USBC or USBA.

Got this 2 weeks ago and love it The 64 GB of space worked perfect for transferring of small and large files from my Samsung phone, desktop computer and my PS4. The dual plug design is a pretty cool feature as well with the USBC end working right away in my phone. I also like the fact it is a metal shell instead of plastic so it is perfect for work as well as at home. Very sturdy and well built.

I love that this is so so small, easy to clip onto my bag while travelling and such large storage. Great value

Perfect product for going back and forth between computers and even a phone, it works flawlessly with my USBC phone. Fast transfer speeds, the build quality seems really excellent, and it is just so convenient to grab and use.

High storage capacity in a sleek, compact, and stylish metallic casing. Only downside is it doesnt fit into older, larger USB ports still many of them around.

I really love this little guy. The material feels really good and solid and I feel my data will be secure here for a long time If I dont lose it because its really small

The SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe is a great drive for all of your devices, I can personally confirm that it works out of the box with Windows, Mac, and Android devices. It is formatted in a way that you can read and write from all of these devices out of the box. I see no reason why this wouldnt also work with an iPad Pro with USBC but I do not have one to personally test myself, I also believe that with an adaptor this could work with your nonUSBC iPhones or iPads. I personally tested moving files to and from a Mac, Windows PC, and an Android phone and I had no problems with great read and write speeds.I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a flash drive that can be used on multiple devices with a high capacity and great speeds. It is a great size with a loop to fit on your keyring making it highly portable and easy to use, the swivel design also makes it so you dont have to worry about the type C connector getting broken and since the type A side doesnt have anything sticking out there is no worry of breaking that end when carrying it around in your pocket or bags.

This little gem was on sale for 50 off of list price. It has a lot of storage in a very petite package. It has a USB Type C connector on one end and a USB Type A connector on the other. Very useful for moving files between devices with dissimilar types of connectors.

Dual feature is great to have. Device is small which makes it difficult to insert or remove. Would be nice to have some sort of grip on the USB for ease of holding.

I switch back and forth between my Dell and my MacBook Pro and wanted a USBC drive to transfer files and store my most important docs. Both computers have thunderbolt ports only, so I wanted a fast drive as well. Portability is also key as I will travel with the drive as well. This tiny little drive checks all those boxes, plus it gives me an incredible 512GB of storage which is way more than enough for me. I transfered nearly 3gb of data in just over 2 minutes Its small enough where I barely notice its there and its backward compatible with USBA drives as well. I dont have huge files so I anticipate this being my sole drive for a long time to come.

I like this small drive as I can use it with all my phones to back them up and I dont have to remove the case. I did some backups and it was fast to use. It also has software you can install on your phone. The APP can help with your backups. I have tried others but this drive is the best so far and I would buy it again

Top quality manufacturer. Love the dual aspect. Great to have 3.1 capability as well. Price was excellent for the capacity.

I have tried numerous dual drive jumpdrives by different manufacturers the past few years. The metal housing makes this one an easy favorite. The discounted sale price made it a nobrainer.
Nolamom92 –
I lovs this drive. However, it becomes loose after so mamy uses. Umddrstamdable. The quality is still great and it gets the job done.
JP123 –
Excellent flash drive. Always go for the metal ones. The plastic drives always break for some reason. The 2in1 is a really nice feature.
Rocco –
Substantial build quality with reasonably fast readwrite at a good price. All metal design that does get a little warm with extended readwrite but nothing too concerning.

When I received the product, it was already not working. I threw the product away because I was too busy to bother sending it back again. This is probably my bad luck .so frankly, I dont want to make any bad comments.

This is an excellent size typeC flash drive for the Tesla Model S Sentry surveillance cameras. It can be easily removed from the cars drive and put directly in the a phones typeC connection for immediate review of stored video clips.
Wyosully –
Tried this stick on my android. Was difficult to get started but finally did backup entire phone. However its a metal case and got very hot while using it.Havent tried on other devices but it does have large capacity fairly quick to backup.
Amalia True –
Excellent product as always, from Western digital. This is finally a very compact USBC drive for the new USB standard. Though not as micro as the USBA drivers were, its a start
Logan –
The drive itself is quite heavy in comparison to the competition. Yeah its a USB drive but every gram matters on a keychain. Also, the drive gets too hot to touch, even if you arent doing anything with it, just having it plugged in. Never had a USB drive get this hot. And I ordered two with this order, both are the same way.
ChuckieBoomBoom –
The product is decent, but Best Buy did not honor their 10 off for a 7year Elite Plus Rewards member. This product looks flimsy and one end of it will always be unprotected, so not very safe.
Redoakenv –
This is a very good flash drive where you can have two types of adapters. The speed of the data transfer is exceptional. Highly recommend this flash drive for traveling.
jdr2000 –
I got this mainly for a TimeMachine backup for a MacBook Air with same 256GB. This thing is tiny And well made. All metal case and guard, with a nice click action when you rotate it into place. Great that it does USB and USBC. Fast enough speed. Should last forever.
Fergy –
I love the new speed at which you can download or upload with it. Its very easy to use. The notch for a neck strap to go through or just keeping all of your work together is a huge plus for me
TimY –
Very fast transfer rate for small flash drive. I love the versatility between USBC and USB 3.0. The metal does get pretty hot when transferring files for an extended period of time. I do wish there was some sort of cap to protect the flash drive from being exposed to dusthumidityetc.
Mara –
I bought this on sale for nearly half price. It was a fantastic deal for a flash drive. The build was really nice, and being metal with USB and USBC, I bought two more.
David –
As others noted, it heats up fast with usage. Got very warm to the touch just transferring 2gb of files to it. Half using the USBA plug started at 60mbsec, then dropped to 35mbsec half using USBC plug stayed at 65mbsec for a full 1gb transfer. Slower than I expected. My tests done on 2yr old Win 10 copying from a 7200rpm disk. Copying from a flash drive, it did 175mbsec steady.
Energymark –
Very modern looking flashdrive. Silver finish sets it apart from other products. Very good price for 128GB. But Im always confused by 3.1 vs 3.0. I thought this was the newer, faster device but apparently companies can call a 3.0 by the 3.1 designation. So, some of the transfers of larger files went slowly. But they transferred ok. Pick up outside at drive up went very smoothly.
leorl –
Does the job, easy to use and great for direct plug in to usb C ports ie. macs. Definitely attach it somewhere like a keyring though, its small and can be easily lost
Mossman –
Started using a removable drive for some more sensitive information that I did not want to leave on a laptop. Placed it in an encrypted file and move it to the disk. Pictures video files transfer without Internet in our done quickly and accurately. No issues to date. Plenty of storage space left. Great product.
iPadInsomniac –
Sturdy, versatile, fast, nice aesthetic, Best compact flash drive Ive used You should get one Really you should get one
bruhaha –
Convenient little drive with allmetal housing so I dont have to worry about carrying it around in my pocket. Both USBC and USBA connections make it easy to connect to pretty much any device. My only complaint is that this drive gets very hot when connected, even if youre not actively copying something. Much warmer than the previous metal USB drive that I had.
greensprutts –
There should be a too soon to tell option for is it reliable. Cant know, can I Definitely good value for 128GB memory though, and can be plugged into the old and the new USB ports.
NorthShoreTech –
This is a handy little drive used to backup my laptop in case if hardware failure. I like to have my local data on removable media so it is easily transferable should the need arise. This drive is well made and easily attaches to my key ring for portability.
Ravoricho –
I love that can either type c and type a usb flash drive I have computers that are USBA and others that are USBC and its a great convinence to have this little thumb drive. 128 GB is a useful size and the price is reasonable. Fast, well built, great capacity. I have it formatted as HFS for Macs, and I use both the older TypeA side of the drive as well as the newer TypeC side, day in and day out. It is on my keychain now as my primary pocket drive.
SORT –
I have used this flash drive for a couple of weeks now, with no issues. One time it got hot while plugged in my phone with no problems after that. It is handdy to have a USBC and a normal one for the same drive.
Valeriy –
This flash drive looks and feels great. It performs as expected. The small size makes it very convenient to attach to your keys.
