I received this memory card today, and I believe it to be a piratedproduct. It arrived unpackaged, without an invoice, and has obvious cosmetic differences from another SanDisk memory card of a different size but same speed rating which I ordered at the same time. I will be talking to the US Postal authorities regarding this matter as soon as possible.

SanDisk have always been renowned for high quality storage cards for digital devices. A really important factor, particularly for photographers is the write speed. As image quality grows, so too does file size and you dont want to miss that next shot because the camera is still writing your last one to the card.This card has a write speed of around 40 MBs possibly more. My camera records JPG images at around 15 MB so 3 shots per second can be written to the card notwithstanding the number of shots buffered in the camera. Likewise with RAW coming in at around 35 MB per shot, the write down is pretty quick.Capacity wise, 16 GB is sufficient for approximately 1000 JPG shots of 15 MB each. More than enough to keep you going for a day out.Whats more, the price that Tesco Direct charge in comparison to other places, you could easily pack a second card as a spare.If you have a modern DSLR then you really do need one of these

For us pro photorahers we know that memory cards are not all the same. The speed at which the card can write its data and the risk of losing that data via corruption is important. Imagine shooting someones wedding on a cheap card and it corrupts, we would be killed on the spot. SanDisk cards are simply the best and unrivaled, about 80 of us in the industry use this card and we normally pay 3 times the price. This is not a barging, its theft… Lol

These cards are perfect for cameras that produce large files. 16GB is a good size. It can hold a lot of images but I wouldnt want to have a bigger card in case of anything going wrong. I like to spread the balance of capacity and risk over several cards. Tescos price for these cards is very competitive and so I bought 3 cards with a total of 48GB. That should be enough for now

Sans Disks products appear to be good quality. Finding out which type of Sans Disk SD Card is the best product to use with my Tascam DP 24 SD Recording Studio is a bit of a minefield as Sans Disk like all other SD Card manufacturers keep changing the namespackaging of their products. So the SD Cards that are officially recommended by Tascam are either no longer available or have been repackaged. It would be helpful if the manufacturers of SD Cards could make it easier for people like me who are searching for specific Cards by keeping the same specifics and packaging on the SD Cards that have been recommended for use. Using the wrong SD Card for recording can result in losing many hours of creative work that is unretrievable and impossible to duplicate.
