I had no problem starting up this tablet from the UK. I just picked Australia as, we know, these are non UK units so the UK is not from the pick list. I can’t see picking Australia had any impact on anything else on operating including Google maps etc. It works fine. The negative for me was less wide screen than ipad & I’d used ipad for 10yrs odd. The ability to import from my Samsung phone was very handy although a few apps such as WhatsApp did not load down to Ltd storage. For me, the screen is big enough & given the inflated price of an entry ipad, its a no brainer V value for money. I did need to buy a case and took option to get a screen protector but as an after job. It would have been sensible to have this option on purchase of tablet. I feel one needs a cover as the tablet is a slippery beast. I’m not a teenager so not well versed in functionally thus not used it all as yet but like the fact things are familiar per my mobile. OK I would give it 4.95 stars as it is a non-UK version (you cannot choose the UK but it works with Egypt rather than the UK and other reviewers seem to prefer the RSA as their choice of region), it is genuine Samsung (uses both the Google Android appstore and the Samsung one), uses British English (contrary to what someone said here earlier I was not greeted by Chinese characters when setting it up) so I am absolutely fine with it. I love the specs, I got Android 14 on it after two previous upgrades within the very first day of my using it. Its battery life is magnificent. Its responsiveness is great, the screen looks awesome despite not being super-sharp and it has a metal back which gives it a very premium feel esp. considering its price. Samsung’s newest version of its Android 14 interface is actually pretty good I would say. 14 people found this helpful
