Third time lucky? This is the third watch I’ve tried after a leading brand whose app died and a brand that matched my phone whose battery died 2months in. In both cases Gadget Tree support fabulous – leading brand helpful but powerless, phone people hopeless. Garmin is the other big name in this sector so I gave it a whirl. I didn’t want anything too huge on my wrist so went for vivosmart5. It is similar to bands I’ve had from the other leading brand. It’s a bit more pricey though and a bit less functional – no timer, no choice of face, slightly worse battery life doing about 5 days with autowake off but most other functionality on. No problems with phone connection – both the other brands were temperamental. I really like the app – lots of data, lots to customise. Like all watches it’s step counting is a little inaccurate. It does do GPS tracking of walks which is a new thing for me. I’ve swum a few times. Waterproofing seems fine and you can just about operate it with wet hands. It doesn’t autodetect swimming so you have to set it off as you start. Length counts are a bit out but you can pull up a graph in the app and see how many lengths have taken twice or half as long and work it out. I use alerts for texts and calls – you get full message of text on band. I also use the alarm – you can only set this from the app, but it is silent if you need to rise without disturbing partner. I just wish there was an on band timer – handy for cooking. Lots of ways to customise data to view on band but I use app more. Strap is a bit plasticy – I saw a report suggesting we should wear silicone to avoid forever chemicals. It does up comfortably and easily. I’ve only had irritation when I’ve got moisture underneath I’ve failed to dry. It just has a proprietary to C cable supplied. Happily my phone brand dead one had required I buy a C charger (or you can charge from phone) so that was not wasted. Charger plugs into physical port behind watchface – not magnetic like many newer ones. Overall it seems to do most of what I need reliably. It just feels a bit behind the times, especially for the money, so four stars. One person found this helpful

Bought them with my new phone, so far I’m impressed with the active noise cancelling and the clarity of the sound in calls and playback. The app can be a bit fiddly to set up, but once done it’s OK. One drawback is that if you loose them in a bag or coat pocket and try to use the Smart Things app to find them that app ONLY works with the case lid open and if the device has power!!! How daft is that? Come on Samsung, fix this for the next upgrade please. They fit well once I found the correct ear tip and are comfortable to wear for an extended period. I have not tested their IP rating yet. They are at the higher end of the buds genre and I think that if you want good sound performance and comfort fit then that costs, in that respect I think they are good value for the money, there may be better out ther from other manufacturers,(e.g.Sennheiser) but so far I have not been disappointed, the finding app notwithstanding. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2 offer a premium audio experience with features like active noise cancellation, great sound quality, and an ergonomic design. These wireless earbuds are an upgrade to Samsung’s previous models, and they promise to deliver a more refined and comfortable listening experience. However, for some users, the fit of the ear tips may not be ideal, and adjustments may be necessary. Design and Build Quality: The Galaxy Buds Pro 2 come in a sleek, modern design with a compact, premium feel. The gray color adds a touch of sophistication, and the earbuds are both lightweight and comfortable for long listening sessions. The IPX7 water resistance ensures that the buds can withstand sweat and rain, making them a good choice for workouts or outdoor use. The active noise cancellation (ANC) feature works well, providing an immersive listening experience by blocking out surrounding noise. The sound quality is crisp and clear, with powerful bass and balanced mids, making them suitable for a wide range of music genres and podcasts. Performance: In terms of performance, the Galaxy Buds Pro 2 deliver excellent audio quality. The ANC feature is particularly effective at reducing ambient noise, allowing you to enjoy your music or calls without distractions. The ambient sound mode is also useful when you need to hear external sounds, like when walking on the street. The battery life is impressive, offering up to 5 hours of playback with ANC on, and more than 18 hours with the charging case. The earbuds also support wireless charging, adding to their convenience. Fit and Comfort: The main issue I encountered with the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2 is the fit. The ear tips provided with the buds didn’t fit my ears properly, making them uncomfortable for long-term use. I had to experiment with different ear tips to find a better fit. This may be a common issue for people with different ear shapes and sizes, as some users might need to use third-party ear tips to achieve the best comfort and sound isolation. For those who don’t experience fit issues, the earbuds should be comfortable and stay securely in place during various activities like walking or exercising. However, the fit issue could be a dealbreaker for users who find it difficult to get a comfortable, secure seal with the included ear tips. Ease of Use: The Galaxy Buds Pro 2 are intuitive and easy to use. Pairing with your device is quick and seamless, especially for Samsung users, as the earbuds automatically connect when you open the case. The touch controls on the earbuds allow for easy navigation of music, calls, and volume without needing to take out your phone. Value for Money: While the Galaxy Buds Pro 2 are priced on the higher end of the market, they offer a range of premium features, including ANC, ambient sound mode, and excellent sound quality. If you can get the right fit, they offer great value for money with solid performance and additional features that enhance the overall user experience. Conclusion: The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2 are fantastic earbuds with great sound quality, effective ANC, and a sleek design. However, the fit might not be perfect for everyone, and some users, like myself, may need to experiment with different ear tips to achieve the right comfort. If you have no issues with the fit, these earbuds are a solid choice for anyone looking for high-quality audio and premium features. Just be aware that the fit could be a challenge for some, and adjustments may be required for optimal comfort. One person found this helpful

Got a pair of these buds free my with phone but after almost 2 years of use they ended up getting stolen. Even though 2 more generations of buds had came out, I found myself wanting to go back to these as they didn’t skip a beat, pun intended. They fit really well in the ear when you play around with which ends you need for your ear size. The sound quality is brilliant considering they’re in ear headphones. Battery life is around average for bud style headphones and charging is very fast. The fact you can wirelessly charge from your phone is great if you get caught out and about on low battery too. They’ve got me through many a podcast, playlist or YouTube video when out on walks and the noise cancellation is good enough that you can wear them when it’s windy and not lose out on too much quality. I’d probably not recommend running in them if you can’t get the right fit as they can come out. Finding the right ends will remedy this though.

An excellent pair of ear buds that integrate brilliantly with my Samsung phone. They fit very well and are comfortable to wear and I like that the Samsung app gives feedback on the fitting of the buds. Pairing was super quick and easy and I also like the amount of control I have over the buds on my phone. Sound quality is probably the best of experienced from ear buds with a well rounded overall sound and a nice deep bass. I also like that there is an equalization function for various different types of sound. Charging is simple and quick and both the buds and the case hold a good amount of charge so I’m not constantly having to recharge them. The only slightly disappointing thing is the noise cancelling function which works but I feel could be a little better. All in all an excellent pair of buds for a Samsung phone user. Recommended. 4 people found this helpful

If you have a Samsung phone then I highly recommend these Ear buds. Sound quality is awesome and when paid with a samsung phone everything works seamlessly. I really like the fact that you can have full noise cancelling when you want to hear the music clearly and not be interrupted by the world around you. or you can have partial cancelling so you can still hear announcements or the person next to you talking and they do not appreciate that you have ear buds in for a reason! All this at a touch of the earbud or on your phone. However, possibly one of the best features that I had to use this week was the find functionality. I managed to leave them in the hotel room and only realised when I went to get them out at the airport. However a quick push of a button on the earbuds app, confirmed their location and I was able to contact the hotel and have them picked up and sent to me. Amazing Well worth the money

These galaxy buds 2 pro are very nice. I am comparing these to Huawei freebuds pro 2. The sound quality is too sharp on these meaning words with a ‘S’ in it hurt my ears. The freebuds 2 pro were more balanced but the galaxy buds are louder and have more bass overall. The freebuds fit better in my ears and the galaxy buds I had to buy different eartips because they kept falling out. The touch controls on the galaxy buds are responsive but if the earpiece is too loose and you try to adjust it keeps messing with the controls, but if you have a good fit the touch controls work great. The squeeze controls on the freebuds work very well and the sliding also works nicely. The weight is less on the galaxy buds but the freebuds feel lighter in the ears. The case and buds are a little heavier on the freebuds whereas the galaxy buds are a little lighter. The freebuds last about 2-3 hours for me with transparency/awareness/ambient mode on whereas the galaxy buds lasted an hour or 2 longer. The app allows more features for the galaxy buds whereas the freebuds are a bit more limited in features. Noise cancelling and ambient/awareness mode(transparency) The galaxy buds when using properly sealed tips have slightly better nosie cancelling than the freebuds but if you use the stock eartips the freebuds have better noise cancelling. The ambient mode is slightly better on the galaxy buds and has a option to boost that even more whereas the freebuds has a slightly more muffled sound but very little. If you have a Huawei or prefer the design of the freebuds get them but if the design of the galaxybuds suit you and you have a Samsung phone get the galaxy buds instead. 13 people found this helpful
