I am always amazed why companies bring out a flagship phone such as the S20 Ultra, at £1200 and then a phone which is almost as good for a fraction of the price, this one being around £270. It’s nearly 80% cheaper, but having had both models i can tell you confidently that it is isn’t 80% worse in terms of performance. Yes, it isn’t waterproof, and doesn’t quite have the same camera – but, in terms of running applications, battery life, storage and speed – i can’t see a difference, in fact this probably lasts longer than its flagship brother. Also, be sure to check out the Samsung Members app for deals – i was able to secure a free pair of Galaxy Buds Plus, current value around £120 – which i has intended to buy seperatley, so, that made this a very good deal. 9 people found this helpful

Very happy with this phone. Got it at a discounted price and it has good storage, long battery life and good camera. Only issue is that the fingerprint reader doesn’t work with a tempered glass screen protector. All in all though, I would recommend this phone. “Your fingerprint is not recognized. Your face is not recognized.” Get used to these messages. I replaced my oneplus 6 for this phone due to the Samsung’s wide angle lens I needed for work. The A42 has a larger screen than the oneplus 6 and very nice it is too. However there’s a couple of issues; The A42 is definitely slower than my old one plus 6. The fingerprint recognition only works about half the time. The sensor is on the bottom of the front screen, so if you use a screen protector that seems to drastically reduce its ability to read your fingerprint. I’ve missed so many phone calls now because I can’t unlock the phone that it’s ended up in my bin several times. The face recognition is also pretty hit-and-miss. Don’t forget your pin code because you’ll be using that frequently. Unfortunately those issues spoil what would otherwise be a good phone. 3 people found this helpful

Bought this New A 42 White for my partner. The Screen is brighter and colorful with high resolution contrary to some You Tuber . I do not trust them anymore.The Cameras are really good especially on close up shoots of faces . The Color is enhanced on videos as if extra make up is done . Although I have not used top range i phone 12 or Galaxy S21 . I believe that near 4 K Shooting is possible if full Camera adjustments are done in proper lighting . I have uploaded a short video that was casually shot on stabilization mode without any adjustment. I don’t know if all of the Cameras work automatically on this Phone or we have to choose them individually at shooting . It is a Delicate looking Sleek Design . Internet surfing and App downloading was quick . Finger Print and face mode were functional but she is not using them. Overall this Phone is confidently recommended especially at or below 275 BPS. I read lots of reviews and decided this phone would be perfect for me. When it came I loved the look of it, but in my eighties there was no way I could set it up, so I had to wait for my 16years old granddaughter. They have so much knowledge! My Samsung I replaced was quite old, so I couldn’t believe how easily everything responded to touch. I was unable to comment on face recognition or finger sensing as I didn’t want those features. The layout was similar so I had no problem using it , but so many upgrades it was great and the camera produces such clear cut pictures, I will be boring family and friends with all the photos! Great new phone for my self.Great battery life time up to 24 hours and constant use/online. Amazing photos taken,excelent camera’s. Great performance,speed is good. Sceen quality is great,screen protection in use and is very fast whem tach screen . I am more then please with the phone and his performance. One person found this helpful
