The mics are great quality with good battery life . The app works well too and I love how portable these are. They feel pretty durable and robust, though I wouldn’t want to chance dropping them. I’ve not had any connectivity issues at all so far and I’ve been using them for a while. I record videos of me out in the field going field recordings so wind protection was something I was concerned about. However, I’ve found these to be very forgiving in wind with the little dead cats supplied with them. Obviously, you have to have the limits if it’s extremely windy and try to find a location less windy to film whilst you are talking if possible on stronger wind days. I tend to set my levels at the medium mark and have had no issues with clipping – this is probably assisted by keeping my voice at a relatively consistent volume and also the gain assist function doing its magic. Sudden shouting or loud noises would definitely result in clipping. If I was a videographer working in unpredictable environments where levels can peak suddenly (say at a wedding for example) I would probably plump for the newer 32-bit float rode offering for peace of mind as you can recover loud signals in post with no distorted audio. As it happens though, these are perfect for my requirements & the gain assist does an impressive job. Sound quality is good. It’s also impressive at capturing the voice in quite noisy environments without picking up too much of the surrounding ambience. You can improve the quality further by using a Lav mic plugged into the transmitter – I have done this on occasion. I tend to do this when it is a little too windy for the inbuilt mics to cope because I have wind bubbles I can use with the lav mics that are more robust. The only gripe I have is that clipping the receiver on to your phone never seems particularly secure. Also, if you have the phone on a gimbal and the receiver attached to the phone the weight can be a bit much for the gimbal. I’d have loved the cable to be longer so that you could have one end plugged into your phone and the other end to the receiver which you could then clip on your belt or something. Also, the transmitter can be a bit weighty if clipped to a shirt etc. I’d recommend an external lav unless it’s attached to a pretty robust surface otherwise it tends to “flop” your clothes and point away from you all the time. The clips seem really robust. I particularly enjoy clipping the TX to my belt and feeding a lav mic up under my Tshirt to clip on my shirt / coat etc. I can clip it onto my belt without worrying it will drop off. I like that it comes with everything you need right out of the box to plug it directly into various devices – DSLR’s, Action Cams, Android and IOS devices are all covered. This is a great move from Rode as it allows flexibility to use them across a wide range of devices. Overall I’m incredibly pleased with these – they suit me down to the ground and make life that little bit easier than having to record audio from a lav to a recorder and then having to sync that up in post. I already do this with my field recordings, so having my voice embedded into the video in crystal clear quality and in sync perfectly every time saves me a lot of extra editing time. 14 people found this helpful

terrible Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 September 2024 Style Name: Wireless ME Single Colour Name: Black Great wireless mic system that is easy to use and sounds pretty good, but I found it very annoying that the deadcat wind breaker constantly falls off due to a very badly designed connector.

Ive been a singer for many years, and decided to get on the youchoob bandwagon…. and wanted a mic that was somewhere close to the studio mics I’m used to. From a sound quality point of view, this does not disappoint, and from a design stance they are superb. You can even plug in a RODE lapel mic, to that you dont have the transmitter on show (not included)… infect, you could take this a stage further and plug a guitar into the transmitter… hey presto… wireless strumming of your axe! — Exceptional sound quality combined with great design. Easy to set up and use, switch them on and they pair up instantly. Plug the Rx into your phone or mixer board and it just works. Have successfully tested with both YouTube live streaming from a phone, and also sound input into an amp for public address, and sound quality is good for both. Can be used for Teams calls if you have good sound through your speakers but your laptop mic isn’t good, just attach the Rode Tx mic to your collar and plug the Rx into USB or earphone jack. Sound quality is very good if Teams noise cancellation is on to prevent mic feedback. You can even turn a wired headset into wireless (if it has a 3.5mm jack) – just plug the Tx into your PC’s audio out jack and your headset into the Rx. I could listen to the guys jabbering on a Teams call and go make coffee downstairs without losing the wireless signal. (Of course your headset mic won’t work since these are only one way transmission.) The stereo quality is amazing when used as a pair! Switch on the receiver mic (using the Rode app) and set the recording to split channel (one mic for left channel and one mic for right) and leave the mics each end of the dinner table, and record the conversation. Play it back using decent earphones and it sounds like you are in the room! Battery life is better than most mics this size. Definitely recommended for semi-professional YouTube streaming, pod-casts, recording and general messing around.

These work well for interviews, good sound quality. Easy to fit to interviewee or presenter, and easy at the camera too. No lengths of cable or belt packs etc. Very straight forward to use and adjust gain & volume. Small, light weight, & compact, tbey’re a perfect, cheaper solution for capturing clear, good quality speech. The low price make buying these an easy choice.

These are fairly expensive wireless microphones. However, they are from a professional, market leading brand and their quality does not disappoint. These are fast becoming my “go to” wireless microphone system. I use these when filming video for my youtube adventures. This wireless microphone system comprises a transmitter unit and receiver unit. I connect the receiver with the supplied cable to my Sony AX43 (4K) camcorder. I connect a small, discrete “tie clip” lav mic to the transmitter and put the transmitter into my pocket. These wireless microphones are not perfect, but heir advantages far outweigh their disadvantages. Advantages:- Fantastic build quality Good combination of connecting wires supplied in the box The transmitter has an external (in my case lav) mic input socket. Once set up, they just work and connect with each other faultlessly. No faff. The audio quality is superb. Disadvantages:- Getting the dead cat wind muffs installed is a major challenge. Doesn’t matter to me as I use an additional lav mic. “Settings” can only be changed by connecting with a wire to a phone or PC. Not a problem to me as the settings only need to be set once. One thing to be aware of is that whilst the batteries built into these microphones do allow for several hours of use, if you are planning to have a session of all day filming, then you will need to recharge these. I would definitely buy these again. I would not consider wireless microphones from any other brand. I am perfectly happy with these. The only thing I would change is that I would pay the extra money for a charging case. Rode is an Australian company which has acquired a new fan. Cheaper wireless microphones are available, but if you know what you are doing, these Rode Wireless ME will not disappoint! 5 people found this helpful

…but we are there. I have struggled with cheap wireless mics which either did not record or had terrible quality because I would only use the mic occasionally. However, after a trip to Paris where some of my best dialogue was lost I decided to buy these mics. The results are fantastic. Charge them up, they pair automatically and the quality of the recordings are fantastic. They are worth the extra. One person found this helpful
