So after starting my YouTube channel 5 months ago, one thing that really stood out was poor audio quality, I had previously used the Hyper X S Quadcast mic, which was not only problematic with OBS but also causing issues with low volume. I was becoming increasingly frustrated, so started looking at alternatives, the Rode was a well known brand that seemed a good option. I have been so blown away by the difference, the quality is exceptional not only the build quality but sound quality is absolutely superb, my advice you pay for what you get, yes this is more expensive than many other options but it is exponentially better in every way. It also benefits from needing no additional software and is plug and play, the inclusion of a pop filter is also great, as these are often an optional extra. Really pleased to recommend this amazing product, i’m now going to get the Rode arm to match. 2 people found this helpful

The RØDE NT-USB Mini is an impressive little microphone that delivers studio-quality sound in a compact, stylish design. Setup is effortless thanks to its USB connectivity, making it perfect for podcasts, streaming, or recording vocals. The sound quality is crisp and clear, capturing voices with warmth and minimal background noise. Its built-in pop filter and 360-degree swing mount are thoughtful touches, adding to its versatility. The sturdy magnetic base provides stability, and it’s small enough to fit neatly on any desk. For its size and price, it’s a fantastic option for content creators and hobbyists alike. Highly recommended!

Compact, high quality condenser mic, maybe not quite to Rode NT standard but pretty good. Great little heavy stand on base, with magnetic grab. Or pull out plug from threaded insert and mount on your own stand or arm. Plug and play, no driver to load. Appears to use same driver as my Rode NT. Built in pop filter. It simply feels superior quality, lovely matt black, and metal construction so it is reassuringly heavy. I am very pleased with it, and will now chuck my cheaper mic in the bin where it belongs. Let me start by saying I upgraded to the Rode NT-USB+ from a Blue Yeti microphone. Easy to setup. Software is not my personal favourite but works. I personally use this for streaming and gaming – often chatting with friends in discord who have all said it sounds amazing and very professional. Great background noise cancelling and can be quite easily adjusted using software if needed. Uses a USB Type-C cable connection so can even be connected to many newer android phones, PCs, laptops, and other devices with this connection port. Has a headphone jack which can be hooked up for feedback. Aside from this, not really many physical dials on the hardware itself, but lots of features built in that can be adjusted using the software. Love the premium quality pop filter which comes with it. It works well and gives it that professional studio look. It also comes with a great stand that works well and sits at a nice angle but I have mine on a boom arm mount out of personal preference so I can move and adjust it’s positioning with easy. Easy to attach to boom arm, no problems there. Definitely worth the price – comparable to many more expensive microphones on the market. Good value for money in my opinion. 9 people found this helpful

February 2025 Style Name: NT-USB Mini Meets my needs as it provides a good quality sound from a somewhat small device. Very easy to set up, basically plug and play. Has a good weight to it so it won’t be falling everywhere. Great quality for any musician or podcaster.

I really like this mic, and it has been a significant step up for the quality of the video tutorials that I do. However, it’s important to note that this is a cardoid mic, so it will pick up a lot of background noise. If you are working in a fairly quiet space, then it is absolutely excellent. However, if you have a bit of background noise, then I would recommend that you look into the Samson Q9U or any other Dynamic USB microphone. I myself had only realised the importance of shuffling background noise after I bought this excellent mic, as my recording space is unfortunately my kitchen, where the mic picks up the fridge on the other side of the room. Update: I have a new studio space which isn’t my kitchen, and this is my preferred mic when I wish to capture more emotion. I have since acquired two dynamics mics – ATR2100 that I use as my daily driver and a Rode Podmic with a USB interface. Compared to those two mics, the sound of the NT-USB is much warmer, livelier and more full spectrum. It’s less bassy than the Dynamic mics. I have children and I hear the occasional car passing in front of my window, so in my case for most instances I still prefer dynamic mics due to the inherent noise rejection. The only missing feature is gain level knob on the mic. Yet, once again, if you have an acoustically treated room, and a fairly quiet ambience, then this is a great plug and play mic. 46 people found this helpful

This is a mic I use for hobby (gaming) and work also! Very clear sound, very easy to use (plug in and go), and the only issue I’ve ever had with it is the sound resetting to be at 85% instead of 94%, but that’s a quick and easy fix. The mic comes with a stand, but I? Ended up getting an arm for it. Thanks to the compact size, I ended up able to buy a cheap one, as it’s quite small despite how powerful it is. 10/10. There is one small downside, and that’s the lack of a mute button directly on the mic, but that’s not the worst thing ever, and I can easily mute in most software I use anyway. I’ll probably be upgrading in the future once I upgrade my home PC set up for personal use, but it’s definitely going to remain my work microphone until it dies

I’m quite impressed! I bought it for my iPad gig (Cubasis etc.), which I tend to use in different rooms, and in the future I plan to take with me during holidays. I have a small plastic box for all the iPad accessories: cables, headphones, dongle, USB hub etc. Because of its dimensions and shape, this mic nicely fits into it! As for the sound, I own the NT1-A, and to my ears they sound very similar. Some online reviews say they’re not the same, which is understandable, because they’re differently shaped mics. There are sacrifices made in order to produce such a small mic. But I’d say you probably want to sacrifice the same response curve for the small footprint and mobility. Additionally, I use it mainly to create new ideas, not the final versions of songs. It’s more than perfect for this use. The mic feels very robust and is heavy. When I plugged it into my iPad, its gain was just right from the start, and I never felt a need to tweak it. The experience is totally plug and play. It plays really well channel strip of Cubasis: the default noise gate and compressor settings. It connects to my iPad Pro (2017) via 1. powered Atolla USB hub and 2. lightning to USB camera adapter. To Rode: there is a huge market behind the iOS musicians community. I think this is a perfect mike for “on the go”, but until I actually tried it, I had doubts. I think you should market it as such, make more “on the go” videos, show how to use it with an iPad, how to pack it to backpack and carry around.. Your potential buyers are really looking for this type of information. 35 people found this helpful
