TLDR; Good phone for bellow £250, better than Samsung A55. I bought this phone for my GF, she was using Samsung A55 before that one and it was a nightmare due to software problems (not a single unit problem as my mother’s A55 is experiencing same problems) but I’m not there to write about A55 problems. Phone is not lightning fast, if you have used flagships before you will notice it, but if you move from other mid range or budget range phone you will be fine. Main camera is good, even very good just don’t use x0.6 or x2 they are basically trash. Battery is just fine, it’s same as my year old Xiaomi 14 which is 500mah less or even more due to age therefore it could be better, it will last you a normal use day if you spend a lot of time on social media you might need to charge it half day. Build quality is very good, premium screen glass, metal frame and plastic back, nothing to pick on there it should last. Screen is another strong point of this phone, it’s a good bright OLED panel with tiny bezels, colours are not incredible but are decent, it’s not LTPO therefore it won’t change Hz smoothly down to 1Hz but will jump between 60 and 120Hz when you need it. Curved sides might a plus for ones and minus for others, I myself prefer flat screens due to smaller chance of cracks if phone is dropped. 256GB of ROM is a minimum I think a daily phone should have these days and I have no idea why other companies still offer 128GB for any device above £50, okay if you use cloud for you photos and videos and only use couple apps 128gb should be okay but if you plan to have a lot of apps, pictures and videos for instant access offline on your device 256GB is ideal (obviously everyone’s storage usage will be different so everyone should know how much they need). 8GB of Ram is slowly becoming outdated, don’t get me wrong for normal daily tasks it’s enough but let’s be realistic Ai is being implemented into everything these days and Ai tasks require more Ram and 8GB is just not enough for heavier Ai tasks. Yes you can use ROM to expand it by another 8GB but it’s so called memory swap and it’s neither fast or good for your phone storage. Long story short: got it for my girlfriend as her A55 was going nuts, she is not disappointed and even consider this phone a upgrade, I will order second one for my mother as well. 18 people found this helpful

Once again Xiaomi have proven that they can challenge top brand phones without breaking the bank. This phone is stunning and maybe the best looking phone I’ve come across – in blue. Fast charging as always a godsend, the camera is out of this world, it’s super quick, loads of storage. Its better than my wife’s iPhone. A big bang for your buck. When I bought this I didn’t expect much as it price is usually a sign to go on. Upon reflection this was very unfair of me, this mobile is not only value for money it a top end quality. The apps available has a wide range of scope. The wireless setup was incredibly easy, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my home security. The 960p video quality is crystal clear, allowing me to see who’s at my door at any time, day or night. The battery life is solid, and it fits perfectly into my smart home ecosystem, working seamlessly with Google Assistant. I previously complained that I was unable to access live view. After some experimentation and having lived with the doorbell for a few days, it is working normally. My issue was that I was trying to live view too often in too short a time span, having only just installed it and wanting to test it extensively, and the doorbell was conserving battery. Under normal usage, the live feed is accessible on demand. All other functions seem quick and reliable so far – there’s minimal delay between pressing the button and the Nest mini announcing a visitor. Notifications on my phone and watch are even quicker. The zoning feature is powerful and reliable. Person and parcel detection work well. I am impressed with the speed at which this doorbell operates. When someone presses the button, I can access the live feed very quickly. I previously had the old Nest Hello which was very slow and I’d often find that visitors had given up and left by the time I was into the feed. I will be hardwiring the doorbell. I need a new transformer as unfortunately the combined transformer/chime that I have is only 6V and doesn’t operate at all with this doorbell. Also unfortunately, Google doesn’t sell a solution to this, so I will be using a standard transformer from Toolstation or Screwfix and will use the Ring transformer enclosure in place of my current chime, and will continue to use a the Nest mini as my chime. I am pleasantly surprised just how responsive this phone is everything works perfectly and smoothly.
