Description

Panasonic Renewal Of its 14-140mm lumix g telephoto zoom lens is based on the Micro Four Thirds system Standard. In addition to its versatile zoom range From wide-angle to telephoto, the upgraded lumix g Varo 14-140mm/ F3.5-5.6 II ASPH./ power O.I.S. (H-fsa14140) features a splash*/dust-resistant construction for heavy field use while maintaining its stylishly compact and lightweight profile. The lens’s practical zoom range of 14-140mm (35mm camera equivalent: 28-280mm) suits a wide range of shooting situations. It can deftly capture the detail of a dynamic landscape, smoothly bring subjects up close or shoot an intimate, impressive portrait with beautifully defocused background. Power O.I.S. (Optical image Stabilizer) compensates effectively not only for small, fast movement but also large, slow subjects, making it easy to shoot super clear shots even in low-lit situations, such as nighttime or indoors. Incorporating an inner focus drive system and stepping motor, The LUMIX g Varo 14-140mm/ F3.5-5.6 II ASPH./ power O.I.S. Is more than capable of smooth, silent operation to work with the digital camera’s high-speed, high-precision contrast AF system for both photo and video recording. It is also compatible with sensor drives at max. 240 fps to take maximum advantage of digital cameras with high-speed AF. The LUMIX g Varo 14-140mm/ F3.5-5.6 II ASPH./ power O.I.S. (H-fsa14140) is designed and built with a highly reliable metal mount and includes multi-coated lens elements to minimize ghosts and flare. Seven blades give the aperture a rounded shape to produce an attractively smooth Defocus effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture settings. Got it upon release for my G9 to complement my G Varios 714 and 100300 and its perfect. glad I waited a bit for this new model as it is now splashproof. I was surprised by how compact it is too smallerlighter feel than the 714. The zooming is butter smooth from wide to telephoto and back. Pics so far are great. Thinking about getting an extender tube for macros closer to subject min is 1ft, already yielding great results. All good no complaints so far.

Great walkabout lens, great travel lens, and great for macrocloseups. Really takes stunning closeups. Only dislike is a difficult to remove lens hood, otherwise I would have given it five stars.

I was looking for a replacement for my 6yearold Oly Stylus 1. Its 28300 equiv. f2.8 lens has been great for a onelensfitsall travel camera. But it is old and the sensor is 11.7. I thought this lens might work well with my EM5, providing much the same zoom range and a technology upgrade if the EM5 mk iii ever shows up. But three of the corners were rather soft, and the fourth upper left in photos was very soft. While the latter was enough to warrant replacement, I found that getting the other corners sharp required f5.0 or f5.6. While the larger 43 sensor compensates in part for the smaller aperture with respect to noise, etc., f5.6 instead of f2.8 means 4 times the exposure duration, which could mean missed shots in a poorly lit environment. I returned it and am now looking at what 1 sensor cameras have to offer.

I purchased this lens because of the power o.i.s. stabilization. I had not seen any reviews regarding the mechanics of this lens. Once i began using it, i noticed a hissing noise when the camera was turned on but thought nothing of it. After a couple of days it has grown increasingly louder to the point where you can hear it from a distance. I checked other reviews and have seen mixed comments that this noise is expected. However it will potentially interfere with sound quality when recording on camera. Im conflicted on returning it or not because of the good range.

So far I am quite satisfied with the quality of the pictures taken with this lens. Edge to edge sharpness seems quite good. I havent done any detailed pixel peeping, but the bokeh is pleasing enough.I bought this as a singlelens lighterweight substitute for my 1235 f2.8 and 40150 f2.8 lenses when Im on the trail. Although I havent carried it overnight yet. When carrying my camera with lens pointing down, the lens does not extend under its own weight. Although this is a good feature for stills, the one time I was recording a bit of video, I was not able to produce a smooth zoom because of the stiffness. The lens hood latches securely in place, and I am confident that a small bump wont dislodge it. I have nearly lost the hood from my 1235 when a minor bump knocked it off my lens.I can get close focus, but for Macro, I still love my 45 mm Macro.

I purchased this lens for my LUMIX G9 for a trip the mountains and I am so glad with my purchase. I was looking for a light weight lens but also just one lens to carry for my trip. I am extremely pleased with the results from both landscape scenes and close up wildflower photos that I made. I highly recommend this lens since it fulfills a range of travel photography needs. Plus B and H delivered my lens quickly so I had time to try out some practice shots before the my trip.

Its not the very best lens I own, but its the most versital and I love it. Its kind of funny, really. Its not the best at anything, but its really good at everything. I wish it went a little wider, I wish it were faster, I wish it were smaller and lighter. But its really good at pretty much everything. Unless youre a decicated pixelpeeper, or have specific needs, this lens will make you happy.

When you buy for less, its a normal condition to remain a little suspicious. Even more if you are aware that the delivering wont be fast. So Ive been waiting my first purchase with raising anxiety until the delivery , testing, besides, the tracking service reliability. The expedition hasnt been fast but at the end the special lens I bought arrived, well packed, and the long wait was worth it… So ultimately I strongly recommend this sitePino Italy

I have had this lens now for two weeks. It is sharp, the controls are well placed, and the zoom is smooth. I work in a very dusty area in Arizona and I believe it is fairly well protected if taken care of. The lens shade is wellmade and it seems to protect the lens from flare adequately. All in all I am pretty well pleased with the results and the quality of the lens.

I recently moved up from my Lumix g85 to a g9. I was using the 1260mm kit lens that came with the g85 and a Lumix 100300mm lens that I have but I wanted something to fill the gap between the focal length ranges of the two lenses. That is where the 14140mm fit the bill. One feature that I like is the switch for the OIS like the 100300mm as that can lengthen battery use time. I tested the lens through the entire focal length range and could not detect any aberration or distortion of any kind. One complaint I have is the zoom ring is a bit sticky unlike my other Lumix lenses which move in a smooth fluid motion, but this has not caused any problem in actual use. Other than that it does what I need it to do plus I got it on sale at Adorama. Good lens for an amateur like me.

Very useful lens, and surprisingly sharp throughout its focal range.Compact and lightweight, which is what you need from a walkaround lens.Good reach at 140mm, seems also quite bright compared to other ultrazooms I have.IS works very well, can shoot indoors fully zoomed at very low speeds without a problem.Build quality is also very good, smooth zoom and focus rings, and overall feels solid the dust and splash proof is a great bonus especially the dust.Great lens, worth every penny.

Im a professional videographer, so I shouldnt like this lens. But I do.My short review for the Lumix 14140mm F3.55.6 II Theres lots of versions of this lens its a bit confusing. The latest version, and the version you want, says HFSA14140 on the box and the barrel. If you are buying one used, its almost impossible to tell from photos, just confirm by message before you buy, or ask for a photo of the engraving with the model number. Ive owned most of the different versions, and I like this one the best. But….First, let me just say this really isnt a lens I would normally buy, because it is not very fast and it is not super sharp. Having said that, I will make an exception here because it has a big range, great IS, good color, and, importantly, the image looks good. The fact is, for a lot of group shots or head shots when filming a show, its more important that the image looks good than that we can see every wart and freckle.Overall, its a step down in sharpness from my Panny 351002.8, but that lens is a legend. Also, it isnt really sharper than the cheap, super lightweight Olly 40150 I have two of these. The difference is that the 14140 goes much wider, and it has IS. Also, the Olly kind of fizzles out at the long end, the Panny, not so much. Its by no means a macro lens, but you can get a decent closeup. Also, I was not so pleased with the 12100 which is the other lens I was looking at for something to give me widelong.Thi latest model in the lineup for the 14140 has the latest image stabilization, some very basic weather sealing, and its lighter than the very first version which I bought years a go as a kit with my GH1.Its a very handy lens to have. Although not super sharp, it makes good images.

Lumix G 14140mm is my general hiking and walking lens. It is compact enough for travel, light weight, and most important takes excellent pictures and is very high quality. I like to do nature and wildlife photography, however, dragging around large lenses is a chore. The 14140 covers a great ground for both landscape, and some wildlife photography. Eventually it will be paired with the Lumix 100300 or Leica 100400 lens for wildlife. The quality of the pictures lets me print up to A3 with out any issues. I have notice some softness at F3.5 in the corners, but not enough to cause issues.
