I was undecided between this lens and the Olympus 714, the fact that the Panasonic is a lot easier to fit filters too swung it for me. After a few weeks with this lens, Ive seen nothing to make me regret my decision. Brilliant bit of kit, highly recommended.

super objektiv. landscapes to people. better and faster on wide end. 812mm is the sweet spot but it has street focal length as back up when needed.

Superb lens. Build quality is excellent, perfect size and weight even on smaller camera bodies, and waterdust resistant too. Built to last. Oh, and the image quality is stunning Expensive, but once you have it, you will be using it for years to come. Who needs a mortgage for highly overrated Full Frame, bulky cameras which weigh a ton, and horrendously overpriced lenses when you can get any MFT camera body and this cracking lens, giving fabulous high quality photos at a fraction of the price.

I was a bit apprehensive about using eglobal, given some of the reviews online. I neednt have worried. Slightly slower delivery than first promised but so whatI was kept informed all along the way. Well wrapped, in perfect condition, fantastic price. Not sure what else you might want from a company.

I spent a long time deciding if, as a hobby photographer, I wanted to spend this much on a lens. Eventually I decided that I did and bought it. I have never ever regretted that decision. The pictures are outstanding. I would recommend this lens to anyone.

I have only just started using it but find it good for photographing garden borders and for individual flowers and getting the background out of focus. Hoping to start using it for video this week.

This new UWA zoom from Panasonic is perfect for MFT, because it doesnt compromise the fundamental ethos of MFT as a small, portable system. Panasonic has always understood this, whereas I sometimes feel Olympus does not. For example, unlike the Olympus PRO 714mm, the new Panasonic Leica 818mm doesnt need any special adaptors to use filters, and even accepts small system filters such as Lee Seven5 with no vignetting except for the polariser at the widest settings. The use of high quality plastic, instead of metal, helps to keep the weight down, but the build quality is still at a very high level. The image quality is exceptional throughout the range, delivering images with excellent sharpness, colour and contrast. I judge the quality to be comparable to my Olympus 1240mm PRO. This is seriously impressive for an UWA zoom. Panasonic lenses do not always play nicely with the Olympus autofocus systems. However, I had no problem with this lens on my Olympus OMD EM1 Mark II and found autofocus to be fast and accurate. At this price point, you would expect a lens of the highest quality and Im pleased to report thats exactly what you get. Landscape and travel photographers are going to love this lens. Highly recommended.

I have mainly used this for travel and architectural photography. It is light and responsive. I have been shooting wide open a lot of the time and am happy with the results. It replaced my excellent Oly 714mm f 2.8 Pro and for me this was a good move, simply because of the ergonomics.

This wide, fast, and extremely sharp lens offers outstanding performance and is half the size and weight of lenses offering a comparable field of view in other formats. Its sealed against moisture and is easy to handle in the field. I really enjoy using it.

I am a longtime enthusiast photographer. Having just moved to the M43 system because of its lighter weight and advanced features compared to my more traditional FF system I was looking for a lens that ticked the boxes for high quality and reduced weight. This lens does these very nicely. It is also of high quality build. The focal length range makes it a more versatile lens than some.

Early days with this lens quite a learning curve going from 12mm max with previous lenses to 8mm, I use it on my Olympus cameras, the build quality seems good and design is very neat, for me it is a pity that the zoom ring is a smaller diameter than the manual focus ring but that will be easy to overcome. I like the fact that you can use screwin filters with the lens and the lens does not extend or rotate when zooming. Quality of images appears to be very good but would be interesting to compare with the new Olympus 825mm lens. All in all a very nice neatly designed lens which I am looking forward to use to expand my photography into the wider world.
