Ive been a fan of TLOZ Series since the very first one for the NES. Ocarina of Time is my alltime favorite followed by A Link to the Past. This particular title Breath of the Wild BOTW has instantly made its way to my top three of the whole series. At first, I wasnt okay that there werent dungeons and the game feeling Too real with the weapons breaking and all. After getting a feel for where the developers were going and being up to par with the storyline of this one, I found myself not wanting to turn the game off like I used to do from the age of 6 16. Im now 33 years of age soon to be 34 The cinematography is excellent, the story is great, the gameplay is superb, and the overall concept is Perfect. If I could, I would give this game an extra 5stars. Its so good that I literally google sequel to BOTW every day hoping to at least get a new trailer for its sequel and a demo. After beating this game, I go back and play it to find little things here and there that I didnt find while completing the game. Its forever entertaining and a fun play.

If you have never played Zelda, then you need to understand this is a tough game Ive had to use a walkthrough, which I dont normal use unless a puzzle for a game is tough. Theres no obvious hints whilst playing this game that you have to make certain dishes to complete a mission or that you need certain items to defeat a boss. A lot of exploring to do, so for anyone who loves open plan game this is for you. Lots to do and see. But as I say, you need a walk through to complete the missions and puzzles. A lot of tactical play to conserve your weapons. Im still trying to defeat one boss and it is proving hard. Id recommend this game, if you have a lot of time on your hands especially as youll need a walk through. I brought this game second hand, as it is quite expensive brand new and it is more expensive to buy of the Nintendo play store

Excellent game This is the first Legend of Zelda game Ive played since Twilight Princess and Im enjoying it a whole lot. Its not as story focused as Twilight Princess, but its still an interesting story. The gameplay is addicting and a bit different than past games. Weapons have durability and can break after extended use, there are more environmental hazards like freezing weather or scorching heat depending on the region, cooking food can provide buffs, and armor sets also provide buffs. It can be a bit overwhelming at first because youre thrust into the world and are free to explore it entirely. Ive read you can even head straight for the final boss and take him on. I would definitely recommend this game.

Pros The classic launch title shows no signs of aging on the Switch. A must purchase because it uses all the Switchs features. Its also refreshingly massive, and therefore good value as the playtime is long 100s of hours. That said, its not a kind game and will hurt. If you have younger kids, so for something that adapts to a players ability such as Luigis Mansion.Cons This game is harder to play in handheld mode. Mainly as theres too many things on the screen and therefore too many tiny things on screen. The text size for one. Play on a TV and only occasionally handheld. Either when you dont care about the story or are familiar enough to do some level grinding.

Ive been a casual Zelda player mostly playing my friends games so this is the first Zelda game Ive ever owned. Wow. Its incredible. The world is massive. Its truly an openworld experience with dozens of beautiful, engaging locations to visit. The visuals are really stunning. The change from day to night rainy to sunny are really quite breathtaking. It can get repetitive and its a definite grind especially if you stave off completing the main quest, especially where the shrines are concerned. The gameplay itself is fairly straightforward. Combat can be challenging, but the real kicker are the shrine quests. Par for the course with Zelda games, there was a lot of YouTube involved with a good chunk of shrine quests.

Pros This game is phenomenal My partner and I play this together with our little one. Its a huge open landscape with so many things to do and collect. Im always suprized when I play it that there is something new to discover. I havent yet completed the game but am looking forward to Breathe of the Wild 2 later in the year.Cons Nothing really to improve apart from there is quite a lot of speaking characters in the game and not all of them have audio, just text. That is my only gripe…

The Legend of Zelda is a series that I have played since the beginning and I can say that this is one of the worst. Im sorry, but weapon durability died off in the nineties and for good reason Its not fun. It got to the point where I was just avoiding all of the combat I could, since the rewards werent worth wasting my weapons. And at that point, what am I playing forThe story is nothing new. Zelda is in trouble, go help the Zelda. Surprise, the big bad is Ganon. The gameplay is boring. Open world games often suffer from a great breadth of space, but not much in it. And thats how this is. There are things to collect, but their reward is basically more space to store fragile weapons. Not great. There are no real dungeons in the game, and so there are no real tools to traverse them. Things like the hootshot arent in this. Most of the unique gadgets you would get in other Zelda games are nowhere to be seen here. All the gameplay comes from something akin to spells like timelock and freeze column and sure, you can do a lot of crazy physic tricks with them, but it really doesnt feel like LoZ to me. BotW is Nintendo trying to figure out where they want to take the LoZ franchise and personally, Im not interested in following anymore. Skyward Sword was terrible, and now BotW is up there with it. With games like A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time still playable, why would I stoop down to poor copiesOverall, there are better open world games out there. There are better LoZ games out there. Why bother this this one

Simply the best game available on the Switch. They really refined and improved what open world gaming from the competition. You can move at your own pace and explore the world, or beeline straight to the final boss and use your skill to try beat him. Choice is yours. And that is the key your choice how you want to play, with the developer not forcing you in either direction. Played almost all the Zelda games, and this one ranks as the at the top for me. Way to reinvent the Zelda formula while staying true to Zelda.

This is a good quality little collector set. The messenger bag was huge with a ton of space and a mini pocket on the inside. Was able to fit a ton of stuff like water bottle, shirt, laptop, etc. It also has adjustable straps too. The glass bottle was a great touch. Very sturdy, high quality. Love how it was packaged securely in styrofoam and in its own box. I personally did not have any issues with the bento box. Mine closed tight and stayed closed. The pins were meh, just a sticker on them. Sticker was a single sheet of the champions. The journal was a cool idea and pretty good quality. And the pen was cool too. Everything comes neatly wrapped expect the bag in the box. For 30 it was a great buy. In my opinion this was a good collector set. I would recommend it to a zelda fan or if youre simply looking for a fairly inexpensive gift for a friendfamily member.

THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLEIts been a week of playing this game so far and I am bewildered. The map is immense and Im convinced you could spend a month playing without running out of things to do.The puzzles are challenging yet not impossible. The enemies are pretty intimidating but you could also run away if youre in a casual mood. You could spend so much time doing the most miniscule tasks. I spent an hour cooking different combos of food with meat and plants I foraged from around the map.Graphics, soundtrack, and game play are all A from me. Would definitely recommend

I waited a very very very long time for Nintendo to release this game. It was teased as far back as the Wii days heh. I bought a Wii with Twilight Princess and after playing that, a new Zelda game was announced. Then the Wii U came out. I bought the Wii U in anticipation for this game. I bought Mike Tyson Punch Out…as I awaited this game then nothing. Wii U was a flop. Then all of a sudden this Switch console was released with this game. What Due to my frustrations and disappointment with Nintendo, I didnt purchase until the unforeseen Pandemic hit. Well after finally deciding to purchase one as my circumstances aligned with an uncanny coincidence, I bought A Switch with Zelda. All I can say is, well done and well worth the wait. All is forgiven Nintendo, but I still dont trust you. Haha.

I have been a fan of zelda games since I was a kid. Unforntunately, the last few Wii titles in the series left me cold. However, this game has more than made up for those shortcomings This game is as big a step forward for the Zelda series as the jump from 2d to 3d with its open design, seemless open world with little load screens and inclusion of rock climbing giving the series a new degree of verticality The game is by no means perfect in fact, I would say that every aspect of the narrative from the dungeons to the overall story is by far the weakest part of the game Also, when playing on the Nintendo Switch, some areas with a lot going on graphically can have a slow down in frame rate like the Hyrule Forest Area But those flaws pale in comparison to the quality of gameplay on display here. I could go on for hours about the armor system or the challenging combat but, much like my time with the game, I encourage you to experience it for yourself. The saddest part of this is game is that its gigantic world does not fit into a work schedule as easy as mario odyssey or smash bros The only reason I got to play this game was due to the COVID 19 pandemic reducing my work load and postponing any other major game releases. Ill just end my review by saying this find a way to fit this game into your life, this is not a game you can miss out on

This is an open world Zelda game. I like the exploration elements. And it satisfies my hunter gathering instinct too. You can find ingredients to make food at a campfire for a health recharge. This type of gameplay is totally new to Zelda games. I did not like the fact that weapons break when you use them. I also did not like the lack of things to do in the open world it was really spread out. The graphics are beautiful and the music is memorable too. This is a good game just not my favorite. You may like it if you like Zelda games and open world games too.

Breath of the Wild has been such a thrilling game for any adventureseeker to thrive and explore the many levels this game has to offer I started playing this game last December and I was, at first, a little hesitant to try it out. I started playing thinking that it would not seem like an interesting way to waste my time. I thought it dealt more about battling monsters and the usual story about saving the princess. But I was so so wrong It is much more than that You get to explore as Link and set foot on a quest that would inevitably show you how to skill up, battle moblins, save money, level up your player, and experience the great vast world on Hyrule. First, I was blown away by the graphics and colors of each place. There were things that had the finest texture and attention to detail Ive ever seen. Even the water looked good to drink Haha. Not to mention the fairies in this game, so sparkly and interesting to note. For overall playtime, I would say I took about 2 months to complete. And during those months I was on winter break so I had a lot of time to waste. I used it to complete most of the map, obtain currency, do side quests, and even battle the final boss. The only thing I have yet to do is collect all the Korok seeds but that alone is a completely different game and a world of its own lol. I would highly recommend this game if youre looking for more of an adventure than just battling monsters. If youre into the storyline as well. Also if you like completing puzzles because some obstacles require you to think critically and find ways to complete a shrine. Also, if you like customizing your player then I would definitely recommend this game. There are even speedrunners that try to beat this game without Link wearing any clothes Or better yet with a stick Now THAT is worth a watch haha.

My first experience playing Zelda was on the Nintendo 64 with Ocarina of time. For any real Zelda fan this is a must buy. For any adventure game fan this is also a must buy. Breath of the Wild is one of those very few games in the past couple of years that has really tried to innovate its games design and in doing so created a very fun and enjoyable game that tells a very fresh tale about Link in a vast open world game. This is a living and breathing world you explore battling a large number of interesting enemies and picking up upgrades for Link aswell as new weapons to keep the combat interesting. The game alone is stunning and for a console that is able to be played in handheld mode your going to be putting ALOT of hours in to this one. Do yourself a favour and pick up the absolute marvel of an experience you will not be disappointed.

Its sacrilege to say it, but I think this is my favourite Zelda. Even over OOT and Skyward Sword, this Zelda game set lateera on the timeline is hugely enjoyable, the lack of confusing dungeons and optional boss fights definitely means that for the most part you can play your way. The open world also allows for totally free movement, with no areas blocked off until later, which was nice to see in this game. The only real issue and its a biggie is the utterly broken weapon durability system. With no means to upgrade or repair your weapons and the weapons you pick up breaking in 1020 hits you really cant fully enjoy ripping through enemy camps and taking on the bosses scattered throughout the map, because you will end up with a weapon deficit if you do. Id have loved the challenge of the Lynel fights if not for each fight taking 3 of my best swords so the game isnt as fun as it could have been, and the master swords specialness is ruined by the fact that, as the only rechargable sword, you end up using it to get firewood and smash rocks. Master quest is also entirely unplayable the weapon durability doesnt scale up and enemies regenerate health but you dont So even the weakest enemies end up using all your weapons and not dying. Definitely unbalanced and not enjoyable like previous hard modes Overall though a wonderful story and fantastic musical score make this an enjoyable game.

The Legend of Zelda is one of the greatest franchises of all time. And set the standard for third person combat. The lock on camera combat you see in Assassins Creed, Dark Souls, GTA, etc was all thanks to Zelda Ocarina of Time.Breath of the Wild went back to its roots of Zelda 1 and is a non liner, fully open world game. Its a breath of fresh air the series needed after the very liner cinematic Skyward Sword. The Combat is simple sadly ditching Twilight Princess combo system but very fun.You can climb anything. ANYTHING. More open world games need that. You have to wear clothing the suits the harsh weatherCook meals from items you find throughout the world that give status effects stronger attacks, temporary health stamina boostFind and tame wild horses to make traversing Hyrule faster.Really awesome additions to the seriesBut the best and worst thing about this game is its open world.First time playing, its an amazing experience discovering a ruined Hyrule. But once you have discovered everything and replay, you realize how empty the world is. Might have been on purposeThere is little to no replay value, especially since the story is nearly nonexistent and the voice acting is horrendous. Most side missions are just fetch quests… Another thing Zelda is known for is its music and dungeons. There are only 5 dungeons that all look the same except for Hyrule Castle and the music… after 400 hours, I only recall hearing 3 songs Hyrule castle, Dodongo fight and Ganon fight.Overall as a Zelda game Its okay but as its own game its really something amazing. A must own.

Before I purchased Zelda Breath of the Wild, someone described it to me as beautiful. I didnt understand how a video game can be beautiful until this became part of my game collection. A 3D world that encompasses everything in the world around us mountains, streams, oceans, trees, horses, birds, insects the list goes on. The content is so realistic that it makes me reflect on the amount of talented coding that went into this game.Add to that the puzzles to solve to win valuable orbs so you can have the necessary tools you need in the many battles with monsters unimaginable. There is no pace you choose. Sometimes I play just to enjoy the scenery.I can honestly say that I will not rush to beat the main evil force Like a good book I dont want to scramble to finish, I dont want this game to end.Accolades to the game developers you have truly created a masterpiece

After reading about all the hype of this game I decided to purchase it. I am very disappointed and would not consider this a traditional Zelda game. I understand that it is an open world game and people like that kind of thing but Ive wasted so much time just walking around and not accomplishing anything whatsoever. All of the shrines are pretty much the same and the weapons break so easily. Im glad I didnt pay full price for this game because Im trying to sell it to recoup some of the money back. This game might be awesome to some people, but to me its very boring and a waste of time.

Breath of the Wild might be one of my favorite games of all time. The open world gameplay is unrivaled in my opinion. Almost any point you see is reachable, as long as you properly strategize how to get there. I loved that it featured familiar characters and places from the Zelda series with a new spin unique to this game and its future sequel alone. Theres hours worth of gameplay and thats before you even get around to buying the 20 DLC package, which I highly recommend as it adds to the story, gives you fun new items to find and unlock, and gives you the option to play in master mode which is basically starting the game over with an increased difficulty.

Some games you just know are going to change your life the moment it boots up this game is absolutely no exception. The story will pull you in and never let you go. Youll torment yourself in search of the next adventure, the next chest, the next new location to exploreThis game doesnt seem to become boring. You may find yourself so engrossed that you forget to eat, sleep, go to work, walk the dog, get the mail, feed your kids… so learn from my mistake and make sure you set timers or reminders. The game looks beautiful, when you witness your first Sunrise against the ocean water, youll hardly care that its not some graphically impressive 4K game played on one of the competitors systems. They should have asked a poet to write this review… or at least someone who went to college and could read and rite good. The gameplay can be pretty demanding at times, but the more you play, the better you get, and the easier it becomes. The story allows you to 100 choose your own journey. Do you want to go fight the end game boss right after you start the game, you can do that…. do you want to spend 400 hours exploring and cooking food You can do that tooEasily worth full price, but if you find it on sale, you should totally jump on the opportunity without thinking. Even if you dont own a Switch, totally buy this. Its a sound business decision. Trust me, I bought this game, and my grocery bills were instantly cut by 34.Pros besides everything I just said, this game is so addicting that my lack of eating has led me to lose 10 pounds.Cons none.
Cthulhu42 –
TLDR The game has its gripes but is near perfect. This is how you revitalize a franchise that was starting to grow stale in its formula. I bought a Switch just to play this game and I do not regret my purchase.PROS HUGE OPEN WORLD Lots of interesting places and things to discover. Its quite exhilarating to scale a mountain in order to get a better view of everything around you and then paraglide to points of interest. If you can see a place on the map, you can get to it. COMBAT EXPERIMENTATION Combat experimentation is fun and rewarding, for awhile more explanation in cons section. FUN AND VARIED COMBAT FOR AWHILE Different enemy types are interesting and have specific tactics that clearly telegraph their moves making combat a rewarding learning experience and almost never feels cheap. RPG ELEMENTS The RPG elements fit very nicely into the Zelda universe and give the game a lot of depth. Mountable horses have different stats, enemies can have different elemental types along with stronger variations, weapons, armor, and shields have wildly different stats and abilities, food and elixirs provide different buffs, etc. GAME DIFFICULTY The game is relatively difficult compared to previous Zelda games. You really have to assess combat situations before entering the fray and many enemies are punishing. You will die, many times, but you do learn, with time, and with learning comes triumph and satisfaction. Theres a DLC that adds Master Mode for the most hardcore players or those who found Normal too easy. WEAPON DURABILITY Weapon and shield durability forces you to continually hunt for new gear and keeps combat interesting and tense. SHRINES Theres over 120 shrines which are peppered all over the map which act like minidungeons. They usually can be completed in 10 minutes or less and usually involve the use of several of Links Runes that give you the ability to move metallic objects from a distance, throw bombs, summon ice pillars, or even freeze objects and apply force to them to launch into enemies or to other places to help solve puzzles. NO HAND HOLDING Doesnt explain much, doesnt hold your hand, and expects you to learn everything from the world, NPCs, and experimentation.CONS COMBAT GETS STALE Combat experimentation becomes less effective as you become stronger. Ambushes with bombs, chu chu jellies, stasis, etc, all become less and less rewarding as enemies become stronger. CANT SUMMON HORSES FROM ANYWHERE Horses cannot be summoned from anywhere. The DLC solves this with 2 different solutions, but it should have been in the base game and been an early questreward before you spend 50 hours exploring the map. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT AND GENERAL UI Inventory management and the menu UI could use a little work. You will fall in live with this game.

I have played just about every Zelda game thats ever been produced over many years, and have to say that I personally consider this one to be the best to dateI already own the very same game on the Wii U console, but have now bought it again on the Nintendo Switch, thats how much I like it.The graphics are slightly improved in this Switch version. This is a game to suit most age groups and you dont really have to be a gaming guru to be able to play it.It starts off pretty easy and you will spend some time being taught and learning the basics, which will help you to progress further without too much frustration.Amazing amount of different things to do throughout, which keeps the game feeling fresh and interesting. If you play this game to its full potential, it will take ages to complete, so offers exceptional value for money.

im a little at a loss how to describe this game because i love it so much. when you play it, it really becomes a part of you and changes you a little in a good way. botw has beautiful graphics, an engaging story, and realistic gameplay. its such a soothing game to play, and it has helped me to a remarkable degree with anxiety and stress. you kind of forget everything else while youre playing because its so immersive. the characters you meet are funny and unique, and the main story is really impactful. link is a great protagonist to spend hours upon hours with because hes lovable and unobtrusive. i really cant recommend this game highly enough. i hesitate to call things lifechanging, but… yeah, this game has the potential to be lifechanging.

I have to admit that I didnt play Zelda on the Game Cube or the Nintendo 64, and if they had a version for the Wii I skipped it, but this one was fantastic. I broke down and bought the Switch solely for this game and let me tell you, I was not disappointed.I personally believe Link 2 on the original Nintendo is still the best Zelda Game, but darn if this isnt right there with it. The graphics are obviously way above anything Nintendo ever released in the past, but the weapons and the challenging monsters makes the game a complete masterpiece.I solved the game without completing all the side quests, that might be both a good and bad feature, but you can still go back and work on them from an earlier save. I will say it took me a long time to get through the Castle, that was a real challenge. The fact I bought this on sale made the game an absolute steal If you have never played Zelda or you are not sure if this will measure up with past Zeldas, trust me, it does
JKMOAHI –
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is a work of visual and physical art. The attention to detail in the game and the variety of puzzles and clues make it a totally fun game to play. Im very late to this game since its already been out for several years and Im so happy that I jumped in now. One of the underlying themes to enjoying this game is patience. Youre not going to finish it in a couple of days, in fact, I would advise against it since you wont get to fully experience everything Nintendo and the game developers poured into this virtual world. If you havent bought this yet, I highly recommend you try it. Youll love it

This game is fantastic All the reviews are very valid about this game.My only regret is buying from best buy. The game was advertised on sale but did not mention a sale period. I asked online chat support when the sale ended, and they said I had a week until the following Saturday. The next day the game was back to full price and the sale had ended. I had this along with 3 other games in my cart which all were back to full price. Customer support could do nothing for me about honoring their own misstatement about the sale period. I got lucky that other competitors happen to have the previous sale price at the time I contacted BB about this problem so they price matched me. The other games were not on sale anywhere so they could not price match me or honor their own statement. I should have just purchased from the competitor and not given BB my business. I will not going forward because that is horrible practice to not honor your own statements.

Ive been a Legend of Zelda fan forever. From the Game Cubes Ocarina of Time to the Wiis Skyward Sword, Ive played them all, and each time I have the same reaction how do these games keep getting better Eventually, you would think that the Zelda world, puzzles, and story would get repetitive and old, but with each iteration, Nintendo manages to change just enough to recapture your interest and awe in familiar characters and places. The game offers all that we love and expect from of a Zelda game while adding an entire new layer of complexity and customization. The map is entirely openworld, which differs from traditional, linear Zelda games, and everything is destructible and collectible. To match this, the inventory system feels much more similar to a standard openworld game as well. This gives the familiar settings of Hyrule, Faron, and Gerudoto name a fewan entirely different flavorBreath of the Wild also makes perfect use of the Switch engineit has superb, Nintendostyle graphics that are just realistic enough to completely immerse yourself while not being overly realistic as to detract from the cartoonish nature of the series. This style, combined with the seamless animations and dynamic movement of the Switch create a truly beautiful and stunning world to explore. This game is basically a friendlier, happier, and more puzzlecentric Skyrim.Speaking of the dynamic movements, this game captures all of the best aspects of the old Wii games while doing away with the clunky, unrefined aspects. Different weapons require different swing patters while looking around is as simple as pointing and clicking, but without the click If this style of gaming isnt for you, the game is just as easy and intuitive on the traditional Switch controller.Overall, this is an amazing game that has something for everyonephenomenal graphics and game play, memorizing story lines and characters, thoughtprovoking puzzles, and action and adventure for the whole family to enjoy. Even though I am writing this review as part of a contest, I would HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone and everyone, young and old, Zelda newbies and veteransit will not disappoint

All of my friends who has played Zelda recommended it to me. It is absolutely a masterpiece. I have been playing this game for a week, and here is my current opinion about Zelda.First things first, the core part of Zelda, its battle system, may look similar to Assassins Creed or Dark Souls at a first glance, but after actually playing it I realize it is much richer. You have various ways to defeat an enemy, and you can surely find more after you spend more time on this game.Second, the game leaves players a lot of mystery at the very beginning. Soon after you start playing you will notice the volcano, the castle surrounded by strange, evil red light, and you cant stop wondering what is happening there. This is how I got hooked by this game.Third, Zeldas cooking system is interesting. You need to find out the recipes for elixirs with different effects, strengths, and lasting time by yourself if you dont hurry to see the recipes online. I have a lot of fun doing trial error. With all these being said, five stars, no doubt.

This was an early birthday present to me as Im shielding so thought I would treat myself to this game and a Switch Lite and I was not disappointedHaving been a Legend of Zelda fan ever since I first played Twilight Princess and then Skyward Sword on the Wii, I was very excited to see this game come out 3 years ago, but at the time it was only playable on the big Switch, which I did not own, so sadly had to put it out of my mind…but all that changed when the Switch Lite was announcedOn a side note, the Switch Lite is super easy to set up, it only took about 15 minutes total and then you can get stuck into playing whatever games you wish. I chose the Yellow one because it was pretty and reminded me of Pikachu. But thats beside the point, this review is on Zelda Breath of the WildThis game is absolutely stunning and completely immersive, you can lose so much time just exploring the Great Plateau the beginning part of the game where you are given tips to survive in the wild before you are unleashed onto the huge world of Hyrule with nothing but a bow and a few other weapons, possibly some meals, to your name. The lovely thing about this is that it doesnt follow the standard Zelda format apart from having Ganon as its main villain of you walk through numerous dungeons, collect some items and face the Big Bad, in the sense that once you leave the Great Plateau, you can literally go anywhere You could even go straight to the main boss fight with 3 hearts if you felt that way inclinedAnother excellent thing is the scenery, the huge mountains, stunning lakes, waterfalls, cute villages, sprawling forests and generally epic nature of the world of Hyrule is phenomenal. You can explore any area you wish, climb any mountain, tree or building that you see and I love that.It is a truly beautiful testament to the Zelda series and one not to be missed by Zelda fans. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would

Pros This is a massive game which still holds its own against more recent titles. Even without the DLC, there are hours and hours of gameplay in there. Anyone under 8 wont get the most out of this game, but it is a genuine triumph of a game and one of the classics that the Switch will be remembered for.Cons I would have to start comparing this game to Skyrim or the Witcher to start pointing out potential improvements. That said, it is less than obvious in places be prepared to hit the wikis to complete some parts.

Written by gamer It was a great game. I liked the concept that they took with the open world map and the fact that you can travel all throughout the world. The graphics are extraordinary and I would like to see the same kind of quality in the sequel. Also, I like how you can choose what you do and there are lots of unique characters that have their own lives. I love when you help make Tarry Town. It brings the feel of a regular town game where you can witness the progression of the other NPCs going through their lives like getting married and making friends. Also, I like the horse mechanics. Like where the horse follows the path without you having to move it. But there is one thing that Nintendo can do better. That is, not having as much Sheikahrelated things. Also, to make the clothes cost less, the amount of money you have to use on simple clothes is ridiculous. I mean, I almost had to sell all of my things to pay for the Sheikah armor. In the sequel, it would be nice if you could generate all of the items you get in the botw to botw 2 so people wouldnt have to work to get all the way back to the top. It was very fun playing the game and I cant wait to play the second one.

Have you heard all of the hype for Breath of the Wild Not sure if the game will live up to it or not Well, Im here to dispel any reservations you may have about the quality of the first truly openworld Legend of Zelda title. You can go anywhere in the game any time you want. You arent beholden to following the main storyquest. No 2 experiences with this game are even remotely the same, which is something that makes it so great. There is also enough content that you can put in countless hours of gameplay without getting tired I personally have, as of writing this review, logged over 170 hours of playtime, and I havent even finished the main story yet.The gameplay is fun and challenging enough without being an absolute grind to do anything, and the graphics and ingame atmosphere are absolutely stunning. Ive found myself on more than one occasion just sitting with the camera angled to watch a sunrise or sunset. It really is breathtaking. If you were on the fence about adding Breath of the Wild to your collection, take my word for it and pick this up today. You wont regret if you do.

I beat the Witcher 3 and wanted to play another game to fill the hole it left in my life.I had never played a Zelda game, but oh man this was a great ride. Its confusing to figure out how this world works in the beginning, but by the time youve completed all the shrines, other games just dont compare. The freedom of this game is astounding, see that rock you can climb it. just so much you can do that other games dont let you.I started playing Horizon Zero Dawn after this, and got frustrated that I couldnt do a ton of things Link could.Worth a play for sure. My only gripe is I dont want to beat it because then itll be over.

Unbelievable game. I am more of an old school fan. I was 7 when the original NES came out back in 1985. Ive played some new games like the Call of Duty series and Ive liked them. But this game is really something else. I was worried it would be too much too complicated for a 40 yr old. But I have to tell you it may be the BEST game I have ever played. It is quite a bit to take in, but it only takes 30 min or so to start to feel comfortable and understand everything. It gives you freedom to do the quests in the order you want, yet still provides direction if you need it. You can beat the game before finishing all side quests if you want, or you can do all the details before facing the end. I really cant say enough. Even the ratings on Google are like a 4.8 out of 5 stars with thousands of ratings and reviews. The only people who complain about this Zelda game are probably those who complain about everything in their life. So take it from a old school Nintendo lover this game is worth every penny

Finally, a new hit classic. Growing up, I absolutely loved the puzzleadventure mix that Legend of Zelda games bring to the table. Breath of the Wild lets me relive that childhood joy, but now, the graphics are like nothing I could imagine. This game is great for families while the fights are challenging, more casual players will enjoy just exploring the incredible world. Hardcore gamers can run right to the final boss, but theres no rush the game has plenty fantastic places and side quests to explore. After a hard day at work, I love sitting down with my husband to play BOtW. Hes happy just to watch thats how amazing the design and worldbuilding is.

Its a fantastic game. Nintendo took their time to release it because they wanted to get it right. Well, they did No wonder its still so expensive almost 5 years later bought it 49.99. The storyline is heartfelt and true to the legend. The fighting is engaging and easy to get into the groove of. The art and scenery is breathtaking. The visuals are phenomenal. The todo list is endless. Best of all, its child friendly My four year old loves to run around in fields and chase the wild life. She also loves to jump in muck water because Link makes funny noises when he drowns and it makes her laugh. Im really glad I got it.

Best game ever. I am die hard Zelda fan and so I been dying to grab this game for years now. When my son got a switch for xmas I said now was my chance to buy it since I have the system and it was the greatest purchase ever. The game play the map and the extra features made this game worth every penny. The game came out years ago but Zelda is one of the games that hold its value with time. Unlike other game the price doesnt change much with Zelda games. I actually still play my Ocarani of Time game on my nintendo 64.

I was never a gamer, enjoyed playing video games for max 30 mins n getting bored, but this all changed with Zelda. I havent played any Zelda game in the past, so was hesitant to buy this. I read online reviews and was skeptical, but I was wrong to be this A true masterpiece , there are not enough hours in the day to play this 56 hours could go by without you even knowing it You could spend all your sitting finding food fighting monsters and cooking and still have a great time. Just be warned before buying it, get all your chores and house work done before you sit down to play , otherwise youll be sucked into a Z hole n you wont be able to get out 1010

This video game is the real deal. Its no wonder BOTW took as long as it did to release. This game was so amazing I am still trying to find the cusp of real life and the wonderful immersive world of Breath of the wild lol. Im sure there are hundreds of small flaws people have tried to pick this game apart for but nothing was so bad that it destroyed the overall excellence and brilliance of this gem. Many people have asked the real question of which game is better Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild and my answer… for its time Breath of The Wild. This game is masterpiece status and master sword worthy in my list. It is an open world work of art that philosophically speaking will remind you to just enjoy life. As you are immersed in this game you can tell that the artists and creators took some of this worlds amazing wonders on earth and imaginatively lets the gamer sandbox at his leisure through whatever environments you are privy to. Even if you have never played a Zelda game in your life I think you will enjoy what BOTW has to bring.

I really like this game so far. Its engaging with a good storyline and graphics. The main annoyance I have though is the weapon toggling. Having to assign the weapons as you play when one breaks can be frustrating when it dosent automatically add another weapon on your list of available weapons even if it is an identical weapon, thus leaving you weponless no matter how briefly just after being hit and having to add another, even if there are shortcuts built in for toggling weapons quickly.Other than that, its a great game.

Ive played Zelda games for many many years now. The reason I give it 4 stars is that I found the Great Plateau a very boring introduction. I also personally prefer a progressive storyline. I would have liked to have had an idea whether I couldnt do something because I cant figure it out or because I dont have the right kit. Im also not a fan of the weapons breaking. Besides all of this, the graphics are remarkable, the game play is fun and its a worthy addition to the series.

First off, Im a HUGE Zelda fan. Always have been and always will be. So when I heard they came out with and open world Zelda game, I had to buy it. My favorite part of this game honestly is the scenery. Its BEAUTIFUL Not to mention, the map is gigantic with multiple different climates. You also need clothing or food to adjust to different temperatures in the different climates. I have over 250 hours into this game and still have yet to accomplish completing all of the side quests because theres so much to do its insane

This game is amazing. Its beautiful, has a good story, is challenging, fun, sometimes quirky in a good way, and has garnered my attention almost every day since the day I bought it. I have an XBox, Playstation, and Switch and the XBox dominated my game playing for years. I played the other consoles from time to time, but I never focused on the others for a specific period of time without going back to the XBox. Since buying this game I havent touched the XBox or Playstation.I knew this game was good from reviews, but I was not prepared for how much I would enjoy playing it. In the beginning there was a lot of frustration with weapons breaking, learning the combat system dodges and parries are everything in this game, and not having the right clothes for the right environment. Once you learn these, the game becomes much more fun. Also, there is a lot of flexibility with the environment. It can be used in combat situations quite effectively and certain environmental items collected from fallen enemies can have interesting effects. The game itself lets you go where you want, when you want. Its not linear at all. That may be daunting if your used to going from point A to point B and being told what to do.This game will easily soak up hours of your life and keep you coming back. I highly recommend it. My favorite open world game is Assassins Creed Odyssey, however this game has quickly become my second favorite and in time, might exceed my current favorite. I am still just over a couple weeks into playing the game.

I could wax lyrical about this game forever, but the biggest compliment I guess I can give is that its the first game Ive ever owned two copies of at the same time.My daughter fell in love with it and I couldnt refuse when she wanted to take it home to her Mums each week after weekends with Daddy. I missed playing it so much that I bought another copy jusf for me. Its that good.Ive been gaming since the early 80s and this is tied with Skyrim as my favourite of all time so far. The level of freedom and opportunity for exploration is astonishing. I literally lose myself in it completely. If Breath of the Wild 2 can come anywhere close, Ill be in heaven. A work of art and a work of beauty. Just phenomenal.

The whole code through email process took 24 minutes after purchase. If that isnt fast enough for you then pay the 60 for it on Nintendos store. This is also the cheapest digital version I could find.As far as the game itself, I owned it physically in the past so this is just a digital repurchase for me. If your a Zelda fan you might not like this game at first, but it did grow on me. I am biased though as I prefer the older 2D style games the most. It doesnt incorporate a lot of the classic gameplay mechanics like dungeons with new items and the weapons do break. Its a great game once you get past all that. If you havent played it yet you should, its probably one of the best switch games out still.
Mjeku –
This is the greatest game ever made. No question. I dont even know where to start reviewing this game. It has a fantastic and touching, and sometimes heart wrenching story told in the most amazing way. The gameplay is simple and satisfying, and just works. The exploration is unlike anything in any other game, ever. The artstyle fits it perfectly. It has horses that are amazing and make you hurt inside if they die. It has dogs. If you get the wolf link amiibo, you can have a little wolf pet. If you can only buy one game for the Switch, this needs to be it.

Breath of the Wild is indeed a Breath of Fresh Imagination from the devs at Nintendo. It takes every mundane trope from all 3D Zeldas before it e.g. strict linearity, relatively smallclosedworld maps, and few side questssidecontent and reinvents them all to such great success. Its the best composition of elements from Sandbox and Dungeon Crawlers to date and many games like God of War 4 as well as Dragon Ball Z Kakarot take heavy inspiration from it. That said, the lack of structure defined by the game that is not explicitly shown to the player in a sequential manner can result in a lot of meandering around the massive map trying to figure out the best course of action, which can cause the player to become lost without a guide.

Pros A must have title for the Nintendo Switch. This is definitely one of my favourite 3d Zelda games. The open world style workstremendously well here, and is in my opinion the best move Zelda has made since going 3d in 1998. The open world on display here is nothing less than breathtaking. Theres so much variety in its various regions and locations that makes exploring an absolute treat.Combat If you enjoy deep combat systems then youre in luck here, BotW provides a satisfying combat mechanic complete with a wide variety of swords, spears, greatswords, and axes to whack baddies with. bows in particular are pretty fun with gyro aim making it super easy to pull off headshots. There are also different are types of arrows, ranging from shock to explosive arrows. The combat isnt all button mashing however, you can parry enemy attacks with your shield and perform a flurry rush by evading enemy attacks at the right time to unleash your own flurry of attacks. All this makes for a combat system thats easily accessible and also very rewarding.SoundMusicThe music is pretty top notch, I liked all the tracks on offer here. The game features this really nice piano overture that pairs nicely with exploring Hyrule. Youll find that BotW really wears its heart on its sleeve, as there are elements of the music from across every Zelda in here making the soundtrack fresh and also familiar.Value for moneyThere is a lot to do here outside of the main quest. Side quests, shrine puzzles, the insufferable 900 Korok seeds, and of course the wide world of Hyrule to explore. So far I have clocked in 155 hours and am aiming for 100 which will probably grant me even more. If youre on the fence on whether or not this game will keep you occupied, then fear not. It is definitely worth your time and money.Cons StoryThe narrative is pretty much non existent, there is a main quest and your ultimate goal is still to destroy ganon and save Hyrule just like in other Zelda games. However the steps taken along the way differ greatly in this title as opposed to other zeldas.Bottom line, If youre looking for a narrative with even half the scope of the beautiful open world, youre not getting it here.PuzzlesDue to this game being an open world experience first and foremost, the typical Zelda dungeon layout couldnt apply here. Unfortunately this means the developers have opted for quantity over quality for the new shrines in the game, which act as mini dungeons and only take around 10 mins to complete. There are 120 of these things strewn across the game world and I can only remember a handful of them. A lot of the puzzles end up being the same with each shrine using one of your runes which are abilitys you can use to solve puzzles and fight enemies. The main problem with these shrines is the game has no way of knowing which order the player will complete them in, meaning most of them are pretty easy and lack variety. Plus they dont really expand on each other or your rune abilities save for a few of the puzzles which were actually really good.PerformanceIts worth noting that docked on the Nintendo switch BotW displays at 900p, however thats not the issue here, thanks to the beautiful art style making up for that. The issue lies with the frame rate,Owing to the fact that this game was originally made with the Wii u in mind, Nintendo had to try their best to optimise this for the switch hardware, and for the most part it was a valiant effort. However I did notice some frame drops throughout my time with the game and even some in the starting area.I also noticed pop in and brief game freezes when it tried to load in the environment. I also didnt experience any game crashes on its latest version which is a positive.

I have been a gamer since the original NES and a huge fan of the Zelda series. Despite that, I am rather critical of each entry because I expect greatness each time and Skyward Sword with its clumsy motion controls fell rather short in that area. Breath of the Wild has redefined gaming with an openworld experience and a world like no other. Open world games are nothing new, but to have one with such diversity in terms of geography, environments, and not feeling just like empty space is amazing. If you own a Switch, this is a must have.

Its not like the other zelda titles, its so different. They combine survival with some zelda aspects, the horrible feature here is weapon and shield breaking constantly. Takes away the fun of exploring since you have to run away alot, if you can escape the enemy, which you wont half the time. Story is good, exploration can be frustrating with the world elements, if its hot u gotta keep cool, if its raring hard unequip metal gear or you will get blasted by lightning. Controls can be frustrating, no idea how this got GotY but Zelda…buy at your own risk.

Does a lot of new things for the series and takes ideas from other open world games and improves upon them. Weapon break is a bit annoying and it makes me want to not use my weapons and avoid encounters unless I need to fight. Leaves you to figure out what to do and doesnt hold your hand. The world feels a bit empty at times. Theres things to do all over but some things feel a bit lacking. A lot of traveling feels like its just for the purpose of looking for shrines which are how you can get more stamina or heart containers. Material gathering is plentiful and the different varieties of armor are nice to have. Its been quite a while since I played a Legend of Zelda game so this feels a lot more new for me than someone else who has been keeping up with the series. Ive found the game can be rather difficult but that may be my lack of experience. Im not the biggest fan of the futuristic tech stuff in the game. Overall its a fantastic experience that I would recommend but wouldnt call it perfect.

Loved it growing up and love it as an adult. This is not a self descriptive game. This game requires the player to ignite and engage there detective skills. The first 10 hours the player wilm seek knowledge, friends, weapons and subtle missions. The game does not provide many clues during the mission intro instead uses storytelling as a guide. Communicating with as many interactive characters as possible will guide the player through each mission. Its a game that requires a lot of time and seeking information. I say buy it and submerge yourself within the beautiful landscapes and phenomenal music.

If you are on the fence about this, you should just hop on over. Hands down the best gameplay in a Zelda game. The game is designed to encourage exploration and it feels amazing the entire time. Even if you havent been a Zelda fan in the past, Im sure youd love this game. It has a brand new story that is uninflueced from past games while including a lot of callbacks to past characters and locations. The combat is simple, yet forces you to have stratigy and good timing.Theres a reason metacritic has this game rated at 97100 because this game will keep you captivated for hours and hours.

This is my absolute favourite game other than Orcarina of Time. Im the biggest Zelda fan This game is amazing Its an open world game which means you can explore for HOURS The game connects back to the other Zelda games which made me feel the nostalgia from childhood. I loved the characters and missions. They were all very unique and something Zelda games havent done before. I even purchased the extra quests and they were fun to play too. The controls were easy to learn after time and the open world was so much fun. Even if you arent familiar with Zelda games, youll be able to love and play this game. I cannot wait for the next game to come out

Best game ever Ill start by saying Im a 30 year old mom. My husband bought this because he played a Zelda game as a kid. I tried it though Im more of a Mario girl. I was hooked. Its this huge open world concept. There are plenty of bad guys which was tough at first, but you quickly find weapons. As the game progresses, you find better weapons and the bad guys get stronger. The shrines are these really well thought out puzzle type quests. Im hooked. My 6 year old even loves to play this game just to try to catch wild horses. Seriously, best game ever.

Im sorry but this is one of the most BORING games of all time Its not great at all. You have to walkrun for miles before getting to an objective once you leave the first area. There are no horses to be found. The landscape is also barren nothing to see or do between getting from one quest to the next. Then theres the stamina system which stinks. You have to climb mountains to get to your destination, but you have to be careful you have enough stamina to do it. You even use stamina when paragliding which is ridiculous. The fast travel system is also terrible depending on where you need to go theres not always one even to get back to a place youve been before. Then theres the one hit kills by enemies which also stinks. Its so easy to die in this game, and Im a very experienced game player. Overall I found the whole thing very frustrating its not fun. Everyone says its one of the best games of all time but I dont give it more than a 15 or 110. There are so many better rpgs out there so dont waste your time or money on this one

I have played the Zelda series since Day 1. Ive played a majority of the games and loved them all. Each console entry has felt like an innovation from the last in some way. Somehow, this one calls all the way back to the original. You leave the first cave and the world is yours to explore. Just like the first, you find you cant get everywhere right away and you have to hunt down dungeons to get something to proceed further. For someone thats been playing this series for more than 30 years, its amazing to capture the magic of the first while being a modern openworld game. Im looking forward to this adventure, daunting as its scope may be.

Bought this a long time ago and its still really fun to come back to every now and again. The story is rich as you find bits and pieces scattered about the huge map. The combat is challenging and sometimes a little annoying with the weapon durability but what can ya do. Puzzles are pretty interesting and theres plenty of them. Its also fun to mess around with the physics of the game and do cool or silly tricks. Overall a fantastic game. But everyone knew that already

Do not be mistaken you are going to need a lot of time to get through Breath of the Wild. Its openworld so its easy to get lost in yet due to tonnes of natural barriers, it can be difficult to get where you think you need to be. Just be prepared to be taking on myriad sidequests. If youre used to PS4Xbox graphics like I am, Zeldas initial graininess is a bit jarring. But it wont take long for you to appreciate just how beautiful this game looks and how solidly it is made. Its like controlling an anime movie. If I can offer some criticism, its that Im often wanting more guidance and prompting on my priorities. Its like starting an assignment when you havent attended any lectures you dont know what youre doing aint nobody got time fo dat Another one is that your weapons and armour wear out really quickly. Its an interesting dynamic but one that the game designers push too hard onto the gamer. A smaller issue is that theres a weird mix of voice acting. In typical Zelda fashion, most NPCs speak a garbled language, however, inconsistently, a seemingly minor character will randomly speak with actual voice acting. I know theyve gotta keep costs down but Id appreciate not having to read so much of the dialogue.Despite these issues, imma lay it down like this Zelda is a triumph in gaming.

This game is the best game Ive ever played. First of all, its so interactive. There are few things in the game that you cant interact with in some way. Its a big open world, which is so different from previous Zelda titles. I like it but honestly, sometimes the world feels too big, but dont worry there are plenty of shortcuts to get around this giant world. This game feels like a real life adventure like Ive never seen in a Nintendo game. Buy the game, its worth every penny.

Having bought this game for both the Wii U and Switch systems, I fell in love during my time with them. I like the freedom to explore however you want, climb mostly anything, find random loot all around the world including so many weaponsshields and dive right into the games many Shrine puzzles that really rack your brain at times. I mostly enjoyed finding them while exploring. That being said, Ive found my share of favorite weapons and shields, and yes while they do break and its unfortunate, you find so many while exploring and from defeated enemies. I recommend this game on Master Modepaid dlc for the extra challenge if you want to think a little more tactical during combat as enemies also regenerate their health if youre not quick in taking them down. I cooked WAY more in this mode for stat buffs and heart restoration, and it was so much fun. DONT MISS OUT
tsukikage –
this game is entirely different than every other zelda game in the franchise. not much main story, open world map, hardly any music that were all used to. if youre looking for another dungeon based linear zelda game this isnt for you, but if you keep an open mind you wont be disappointed. the graphics are beautiful, theres a ton of new elements that make exploration very fun and theres tons of side quests to keep you busy. if youre a completionist like i am, this game is both a dream and a nightmare. can definitely play for hours on end

BotW might be the best video game ever made. Ocarina of Time held that mantle a while ago, and now Breath of the Wild seems to have taken up the crown.Gameplay is fluid, the story is as beautiful as ever, the music is masterfully woven into the experience, and the visual aesthetic of this game is breathtaking. It looks like a Japanese pencil drawing cometolife.Probably not the best game for a super casual or brand new gamer, due to how deep and involved it is. This is not the kind of game one can pick up and dive right into. It sort of ramps up. But if you have been away from Zelda for a while or if youre new to the series but have played open world games and want to give BotW a try you are in for a very special treat.

This is unlike any zelda game Ive ever played but thats not a bad thing. Im not a fan of open world games, yet this game does something that hooks me entirely. I enjoyed every gameplay element in this game from the cooking to the fights even to the weather elements that affect the way you can traverse across the map.You can almost immediately go anywhere right away giving you freedom to make your own story. This is a long game from what I can tell. Im over 40 hours in and havent even uncovered a third of the map.If you dont enjoy games that dont give you much direction this might not be for you. Theres a lot of experimenting to learn different things and ways to progress in the game.I may be a little biased because Ive played and enjoyed nearly every zelda game. Ive only not played skyward sword.
Claire –
This has a been a fun yet tedious Legend of Zelda game. Even though most Zelda games have the same storyline, the expansive map and nature of the game is so breathtaking and takes the game to new heights. Literally The graphics look amazing. There has been a lot of exploring to do and it can take forever to reach a destination until you unlock a tower or complete a shrine. The only annoyance I can have with this game are the weapons durability. Its good to avoid enemies at the beginning unless you really like to battle them.
aiden.l –
One of the best games I have ever played. I enjoy action games here and there, but this one definitely takes the cake. I know a lot of people rave about it already so I will try to keep it brief probably wont be able to to be honest The art, music, character designs, and environment design are amazing. Nintendo did introduce a lot of new components in this game that they didnt in the previous game, which I think is quite nice. I always like when series add something new and different from past games because if not, sometimes it feel repetitive. Yes, this game can also be considered repetitive. The main story is quite similar to one another. Go to new place. Destroy monster. Save town. BUT the way it is done is innovative and getting to that point with that HUUUGGEEE map It wont feel repetitive. I have had the game for 6 months and still feel like I have not explored everything yet. You really get immersed in a fictional world so I definitely recommend playing this game

Actually previously owned but lost the cartridge due to how small they are. The game is worth buying twice It doesnt matter if you dont like legend of Zelda or never played any of the games. This game is very unique and a legitimate adventure. You start the game with nothing not even your memories You just wake up and run into a stranger who gives you a run down on whats happened and you decide to go fight Ganon only its up to you how you go about that. This begins a 50 to 100 hour game depending how you decide to go about things. Every inch of the map is accessible from the beginning as long as you can figure out a way to traverse it You have hot and cold weather thunder storms and monsters that will have you asking am I too low a level Or am I fighting this monster wrong even after finishing the game I found there were clever ways to beat certain monsters I never thought of. That is the basis of the game finding clever ways to win fights and survive the world. This makes combat and exploring alot of fun. On top of that the music is pretty great there isnt a huge variety but theres enough to really make you feel like you are on an adventure. Its surprisingly emotional as well. There were certain characters I really felt for. Plus you spend alot of time traveling alone so meeting friendly people was always refreshing. Also When you get to the end you see how far youve come with your gear and knowledge of fighting enemies. Even though you win the ending feels bitter sweet. This game is a legitimate adventure.

Hands down one of the greatest open world games of any console Ive played so far. The exploration is great, the entire world space opens up after the tutorial area with no restraints or limitations. The mechanics are great, there are plenty of ways to beat hordes of enemies. Boulders, setting the field on fire, explosives, run them over with a horse or other rideable creature. Massive variety of weapons and clothing with different effects for different climates. Love the hang gliding feature too. Theres heaps to do with no shortage of main and side quests plus the DLC. This game sets a high bar that hopefully the sequel can meet and exceed.

As one may already know, this game is fantastic Once you get started the world of Zelda is your playground and battleground. Each playthrough is different even if you play in the same order twice as there is so much to catch your eye.The only thing that I hope that the Zelda team improves in the next game is the diversity of enemies. One should know that the enemy variants in the game are sort of lacking from the usual Zelda games. There are only a handful and they try to switch it up with strength classes and elemental variants but, allinall I more often thought to myself, Havent I already killed you before Whenever I had killed the same enemy for the 98493rd time in a row.Other tan that the game is wonderful and I cant wait to see what the future installments will hold.

Theres a good game in there struggling to get past an excessive amount of padding. While I have put quite a lot of time into the game, I found that at a certain point, my drive to continue playing just disappeared. This is due to several poor design decisions, such asThe game is larger than it needs to be. The amount of shrines could have been quartered and a heart container stamina container given out for each one rather than requiring the player do 4 in order to get 1. 120 shrines all begin to feel samey after a while, and this isnt helped by their similar graphical appearances, and certain shrines being exact copies combat trials spring to mind.Similarly, the same can be said for Korok seeds. I could maybe have accepted the existence of 100, but 900Even more than that, while the Sheikah slate can be tuned to discover almost everything else in the game, for some insane reason, the item that there is the most of cannot be searched for. This wouldnt be so bad if they werent important, but due to the incredibly bad weapon endurance system, you require more expansion slots in order to make sure your overall power level doesnt drop through the floor in the midst of combat. And speaking of power level, no Zelda game prior to this has tied attack power to items or character level. Yet Breath of the Wild makes certain enemies almost impossible to defeat if you dont have a high enough level weapon.I may perfectly understand the enemys attack patterns and weak spots, but it doesnt matter if my weapon isnt strong enough to effectively damage them. And if I do have a powerful weapon, it may be good for two enemies, but then its broken. And if I dont have a similarly powered weapon, my ability to damage enemies drops off insanely. While not as bad as in Skyward Sword, the amount of unskippable cutscenes is quite frankly insulting. All 120 shrines have lengthy introductions that cant be skipped, and even lengthier unskippable outros. And even more irritating, as there seems to be no pattern on when they occur, are the unskippable Blood Moon cutscenes, which are the same every time and default to a loadscreen after completing. You cant ignore these things, and they completely interrupt game flow. During my last play session, I had two in one ingame night. Sure, there are hints that blood moon phases may be predictable or even controllable if they are, I havent got that far yet, but thats besides the point when they happen, they are unskippable, exactly the same every time and completely disrupt flow. And then theres pickups which bring up a dailogue box that needs to be dismissed before you can continue playing, such as ancient parts from destroyed guardians. Why cant these just be a normal pickup displayed on the right side of the screen like everything else Why do they have to disrupt flowThe cooking system initially seems pretty good, but then you come up against equally insane design decisions.Like you cant cook multiples of one recipe with repeating it by hand every time. And any recipes you may learn arent stored anywhere except in the last meal you made from that recipe. If you eat that last meal, you cant refer back to a recipe book and subsequently have to try and remember it or write it down outside of the game. There are great things in this game, such as the ability to climb anywhere, the glider and the physical combat, but they are overshadowed by those things I outline above.Youre lucky I even gave it an overall 7.You guys learned too much from Ubisoft and MMOS, and not enough from Witcher 3.

Im not even joking when I say its worth buying a just to play this game. It is one of the most breathtaking open world games I have ever played. There is something here for absolutely everyone. Whether youre familiar with the Legend of Zelda or youre brand new to gaming, this game is for everyone. You can explore, gather ingredients, cook deliciouslooking food, fight enemies, complete fun side quests, complete dungeons and figure out puzzles, and even more. The combat isnt too difficult, and the puzzles are never too challenging. Theres a ton of optional content outside of the main story, some of it provides more challenge, while other side quests just give you more information about a character or the past. I have put so many hours into the game, and I always find something new to do. I still havent even gone to fight Ganon yet I have fun with every minute of this game, and I cannot stress enough that I recommend it to absolutely everyone.

The replay value on this game is insane. Its the first openworld game since Skyrim that I have felt totally invested in, and have done multiple complete runthroughs finding every shrine, every memory, every armour piece, etc. Some complain about the disjointed story, but I actually love it, and the task of piecing all of Links memories together to get an understanding of what happened in the past. The soundtrack is incredible so many wistful songs… The music that plays when youre on a mountaintop makes me feel so relaxed, and my 6yearold daughter has spent the past 2 years obsessed with listening to the music, watching my husband and I play it, and looking at BOTW books that weve purchased. I was really enchanted by this game. Truly. And the vistas sometimes made my breath catch. Would recommend over and over again. Anxiously awaiting the sequel.

Legend of Zelda is my favorite Nintendos saga. It is a great game and you can expend a lot of hours to complete the 100. A big change if you compare with older Zelda games, because this game, is an open world. A big map with different areas is waiting you to discover a great adventure. Exploration is the most important to making your own path, your own choices, and consequences. I hope Nintendo brings old Zelda game to Switch as Ocarina of Time N64, The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess GameCube and Skyward Sword Wii.

Pros Incredible gameplay, very decent story. Atmosphere its like no other game at times. Combat mechanics are fun, and people are sinking thousands of hours into it. Its the only absolute must one must buy for the Switch.Cons Music can get repetitive during basic combat and while doing shrine quests. Some things require one too many key presses to finish an action, like cooking.

An ambitious, new openworld direction for the series Im thrilled Nintendo decided to take. Typically their games have stayed very formulaic and safe over the years, and they finally stepped out of their comfort zone and delivered an instant classic that I will continue to play for years on end.The game doesnt hold your hand at all, reminiscent of old Zelda titles. Pretty easy for anyone to pick up and play, with a good sense of challenge being there for those looking for harder challenges. Death isnt penalized heavily, you just pick up a little ways off from where you died last, with your death location marked on the map.The only things I dont care for is the fact that weapons break with no way to repair or restore them, so melee weapons basically have ammo. You do get used to it, and it works well with the way they designed it, and its not hard to get new weapons, so I cant dock any stars because of it.

Very fun The game captures a lot of the openworld, goanywhere, doanything fun of Skyrim. The graphics are charming and stylized, although its probably one of the more demanding eg batterydraining games on the switch. As a newcomer to nintendo Ive never played a Zelda game before but this is very easy to get into and it gets fun right away. It seems like almost every enemy drops something for you and without having finished it yet I can tell theres a lot of potential for grinding or hunting down your favorite gear. The plot doesnt appear to be anything special but the characters are pretty neat and tend to have something neat or funny to say most of the time.I would definitely recommend it, I think itd be hard to find someone who wouldnt be able to enjoy this game at least a bit. Theres clearly hours and hours probably upwards of 50, or maybe just Skyrimtier hundreds of content here, so its very well worth the price tag.

First, the game came super fast. It is challenging and more openended than previous Zelda games I have played. There is an element to using your intuition and interacting with the environment which is reminiscent of Minecraft and GTA. In fact, I would say that besides the old SNES Zelda, this one feels the most openended. The weapon system is a bit more easy to handle than previous Zelda games to me.Secondly, I like this Zelda a bit more than the old N64 Ocarina of Time and a Link to The Past. I was surprised that at my age a game like this keeps me engaged enough to keep playing. Nintendo did a great job on this oneThe only complaint about the game so far is the angleofview. It can be a little tedious adjusting the angle of view all of the time.

The only other Zelda game ive ever played and completed was The Legend of Zelda Twlight Princess its a good game too so my review is based on the comparison of that game and legend of zelda BOTW. If you have a wiiU this game is definitely worth getting, but I would NOT buy a switch just for this game. The only reason I did was because I found three other games including this one that I wouldnt mind playing on the switch that are available now before all the really good ones set to be released near november. I am Setsuna which is also on PS4 I think, Mario kart, Disgaea 5, and Rime. I like that it has a huge open world much bigger than the world of twlight princess, but i feel they ran out of things to put in it besides shrines and the occasional group of monsters or mini bosses which i think hindered its full potential. Instead I feel they should have created puzzleschallenges for each section of this huge world to make the player work for entry into each region. There was only one area of the map that I can think of right now where you were forced to find a single entrance and not just fly or climb right into it and really WORK to find your way through the area. THIS should have been done to all regions of the map to challenge the player even more and possibly provide more background to the story. For example, Because this happened, it caused this to happen which stopped this from happening inwith our village so solve this then we will let you into our village and tell you the origins of this problem passed down from our ancestors so you can start your journey to solving the original cause of the problem. As it is now you can just walk right into a new arearegionvillage with no real mindboggling challenge and perform the steps needed to enter the dungeon. With twilight princess before helping anyone you had to first prove yourself worthy to even entersave the village before starting the journey into the dungeon. The repetition in the monsters that were not bosses and what rewards were given after their defeat was not good considering the rewards were not worth it 50 of the time. I get that based on the name Wild youre supposed to fend for yourself like a cave man, but in some aspects of the gameplay it contradicts its title by in fact giving you stuff. Compared to Twlight Princess, these dungeons Im not sure if i would call them that in BOTW were not as lengthy which I liked the lengthy dungeons from twilight princess and the puzzles in the dungeon were not as challenging. I have not beaten all the bosses but so far the bosses of these dungeons are not as difficult as I had hoped, except for one took me a second try to defeat but I still wish they were a bit harder or required a longer time to defeat. I am not a hardcore gamer just FYI but this is one of the main reason I refrain from beating all the bosses because if they are not hard enough I will finish the game too quickly, and considering there are not many games out for switch yet I want to avoid that. The puzzle level of difficulty for the shrines they mentioned was almost the same level as the Dungeons puzzle which is not good. You want to differentiate between the two considering there are over 100 shrines and you dont want to do the same puzzle or one that is similar a 100 times. There are too many side quests in the game which would not have been a bad thing if the rewards were better, but I am forced to do them to avoid finishing the game too quickly. The graphics I was hoping to be more realistic and welldefined like twilight princess but they are more cartoonish but its ok. At the end of the day Its a good game, I dont want to score it because people will blow up the comments with Why Im wrong and theyre right speeches but just know if this is the only game youre interested in playing on the switch until other games come out towards the end of the year just wait until then or get it for the wiiU.

Background As a lifetime fan of the LoZ franchise I knew I would be purchasing this game one way or another, the only question being at which end of the spectrum would this game fall. Would it be one of the greats, like Wind Waker or Twilight Princess, would it under perform like Skyward Sword or PHST, or possibly, could we see another triumphant masterpiece to the tune of Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, or ALttPTo be honest, its very hard to place this game. Stand it up to the vast array of triple A titles on the Switch today and its a masterpiece, theres no contest. But when you hold it up to the other games within their storied library, its harder to find the right place for it. If youre reading this youve already been doing your homework and theres honestly not any gripes I can mention that you havent already read. For a franchise steeped in story telling and lore, it really takes a backseat in this game. Not that thats a bad thing in my opinion, especially considering just how much game play this thing packs. Ill admit this is the second time Ive purchased this game, first time being on WiiU. On that note I can attest this game does run better on the Switch. Only issues on WiiU being fps drops within villagestowns. The Good You can literally climb any mountainbuildingsurface provided its not raining, therere endless combinations of ingredients you can slap together to cook up a glorious adventuring meal, a vast open world that acts more like a physics playground than a typical rpg open world. A wide arsenal of weaponry, plenty of treasure to hunt and bosses to fight, wild horses to tame, puzzles to solve, and quests to accomplish. Theres a lot of game here and it keeps you invested. A solid playthrough can run you anywhere from 26 weeks or more, or you could be a complete sadist and charge at the final boss 20 minutes after starting a new game. Just the sheer variety in ways to dispatch foes or traverse the landscape alone open this game up to near infinite possibilities and alot of replayability. The Bad This is where youve heard it all before. There are alot of complaints when it comes to the destructible weapons, and while it can be annoying, especially when you find one you really like, I prefer it than in most RPGs when you have chests full of weapons you never even use. This feature keeps you constantly on the hunt for sharp pointy things. There does feel like a lack of npcs, but considering this story is almost post apocalyptic, I am easier to forgive this as well. However, there is a lack of story, especially for a Zelda game. Much of the games plot or character development takes place within flashbacks, or memories. While this is a unique concept for the franchise, it definitely creates a disconnection between us as the players and these very vibrant characters that were obviously well thought out and designed. It seems like an odd choice to put so much effort into these individuals then lock them behind 35 minute cut scenes sprinkled across the map.Lastly, the worst contender for me is the severe lack in enemy variety. You have about 45 different flesh and blood enemy types with different color variants for difficulties, and a couple synthetic enemy types. For such a large game it gets old slaying the same type of foe over and over. All in all though I still score this game very highly. I had a full play through on WiiU when the game released, completely replayed the whole thing when Master Mode came out,and am now on my 3rd play through on Master Mode on Switch. The replay ability and constant freshness really keeps this game alive. If you have the opportunity to check this game out and were on the fence ffs give it a chance

Disclaimer I am, and always have been, a huge Legend of ZeldaNintendo fan, so I am not trying to pretend that I didnt go into this purchase with preconceived notions of the quality. That being said, it surpassed my very high expectations. The map is enormous and the world sucks you in. I love the surprise every time I find something fun that I know has no connection to the storyline Second disclaimer I LOVE side quests, and this game has a ton. I have already played for 100 hours and I dont feel anywhere close to halfway through. To add onto that, I think that this game gives more control over pacing than any other game Ive ever played. I personally love to find every single detail and explore every area, which can take forever, but I have friends who have said that they were able to zoom through the main storyline in about 30 hours. Its hard for me to imagine why you would want to do that with a world that is so full and immersive, but I appreciate that the developers catered to both audiences. The only negatives to playing come down to a few technical issues, specifically with controls. Anytime is a motionsensing aspect in the game it kinda drives me crazy. I disabled the motioncontrols for everything that I could, but the one unavoidable area that it comes up is in some of the puzzles throughout the game. I wish that there was a way to recalibrate the controller so that I could tell the switch when my joycon is in the optimal position for completing the puzzle, but it seems like it just locks the orientation in as soon as you start the puzzle. The other thing that drove me crazy when I was first playing is the crouch button, as it is activated by pressing down the left joystick. The issue I have with this is that during intense fights, I often accidentally press it down and end up getting stuck in a crouched position when I was trying to run away or move quickly. I got used to it as I kept playing, but I still wish that the game gave the option of switching which buttons corresponded to which commands.Overall This game is absolutely incredible. It gives the character an unprecedented amount of freedom, and the world feels virtually limitless.

I never would have expected to love this game so much. I know it won game of the year but I never found an interest in it. I decided to pick it up because it was on sale. Upon playing it, I immediately regretted not purchasing it earlier. Very addicting and so massive. Its unbelievable that this game is running on the Switch with little to no loading screens. However, the game runs at 30 fps and may drop frames very rare. Been playing it nonstop for a month and feel like I havent even come close to completing the game.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is a fun action adventure and open world game for the switch. Link is a fun protagonist to play as, and his controls and items are all different and unique. When you are trying to defeat Calamity Ganon, it feels fulfilling to beat all of his clones and goons and it makes it motivating to make the champions last requests and rescue Princess Zelda. The only problem I have with this game is the world is way to big, many areas are dull and have nothing there, and I sometimes feel like you would have to play games like Ocarina of Time to remember all of the locations. And dont even get me started about the 900 painful Korok Seeds to get. But overall, this game is an amazing game to play and this should be one of your first games for your Nintendo Switch collection

After releasing nearly four years ago, there, to this day, is no other game on the Nintendo Switch like The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Featuring an immersive open world with a ranking system where weak enemies grow increasingly stronger, armor upgrades, and special modifiers that enable stat boosts appear, the more you play the game, this breathtaking RPG sold me on purchasing the console alone. This title provides the player with what seems like an endless amount of gameplay, easily exceeding over 200 hours to complete the game in its entirety. Ingame, among a plethora of lifelike details, you find most weapons are breakable please note, that some of these weapons do not reappearonce broken, thats it So if youre a completionist, like me, make sure to follow a guidewalkthrough to avoid missing out. Hope you enjoy this masterpiece as much as I do. Cheers

Im not going to lie. Ive owned this game since I bought my switch, but about a year ago, I sold it because I didnt play it much at the time. Over the months, I grew to really miss the game. I realized I sold it prematurely and obsessed over gameplay videos for weeks until I finally caved in and bought it again. I really dont regret buying it again even though I could have bought something I needed like a microSD card had I just waited to sell it. The fact of the matter is that I needed this game back in my life. When I first bought it, I would have said it was wildly overrated, and I do think it is somewhat over what overrated however, I do have to say, its a really great game. I wouldnt spoil it for anyone, but it takes mechanics from other games and just incorporates them in the Zelda universe. Its basic enough, but it works. I would rate it 4.55, but Ill go up to 5 stars over 4.

Was it worth the money No. There isnt anything groundbreaking in here. The only thing actually worth it is the notebook. Lets start with the pins. They are metal with stickers on top of them with a layer of seal. The glue underneath was so terribly put on there that the sticker for a few of my pins are raised by it. The stickers themselves are so blurry its hard to see who the character even is. The bag. Cheap of course. Thin as all heck, low quality material with a vinyl print of the breath of the wild logo. Inside is decorated but the whole this is so lack luster its not even worth it. Snack box. Sharp plastic, cheap also. I didnt expect Tupperware level obviously but I dont see this lasting for long, its hard to open and I bet the paint will wear off after one wash. Water bottle. Its a plain glass bottle with a brown sleeve on the bottom that has the logo on it. Lame. Tech sticker. Looks fine. Probably wont use it for any electronic. Pen. Sharp plastic edges. Flimsy and paint is already coming off the fake plastic metal portions of it. Notebook. The only nice thing about this whole box. It feels as soft as leather. The triforce logo on it is very pretty. Not enough to save this box though. Overall, if you like quality just DONT buy this. As a fan I was very disappointed by the quality as a whole, Id rather spend more money buying things of higher quality separate. Price was too good to be true. But if you get it as a gift from your grandma or parents I guess its worth something.

I bought this for our 9 year old son and he loves it. He has played through the game, in its entirety, 2 times now. I have watched him playing it many times, and it really is a great game. Definitely a departure from other Zelda games of the past as this one is a more open world adventure. But, there is a reason why this game consistently rates as one of the best games around, on any system. As a dad, I like that theres nothing in the game that is overly violent or that I would consider inappropriate for kids. I would highly recommend this game. You really cant go wrong.

I havent played Zelda since many years ago when I owned a Game Boy. Wow, that was a long time ago. Zelda still has the mystery and awe that hooked me many years ago. The difference is that the graphics are out of this world. I cant believe how crisp and lifelike the characters and landscape are in Zelda Breath of the Wild. Id recommend this to anyone that loved playing Zelda on older consoles and also anyone looking for a new challenge. This game is definitely worth your time. Thank you for reading my review. This is one of the few games that lives up to its praise. Wow. This is probably the most challenging Zelda game in the series and the most immersive. They did an amazing job with creating an open world game that fits perfectly with the theme of the legend of Zelda. The combat actually takes practice and a bit of strategy. I cant just ambush a group of enemies without a plan. I love the stealth elements, the weapons system and the infinite side quests. This game is a great because I have to earn the upgrades and search a large world for them, not just collect them on a linear path. This may be the only game I play for the next few months because theres so much content. If youre on edge about getting this game, just get it.

I have been a fan of Zelda since I first played as a child in the 1980s. I have not been able to play too much as I am a 35 year old adult, but this game has a different Zelda vibe to it. I get vibes of Ocarina of Time as well as an RPG vibe. I hear good feedback from other reviews of this game and I can say from playing for the first two hours that it is quit enjoyable. I look forward to more gameplay and to dwell deeper into the story of this installment of Zelda. I was once a very avid gamer and I have good expectations from playing this game for little time I have. Big Thank You to Nintendo for never letting me down when it comes to great titles like this

I bought this for my 8 year old son as a birthday gift. Honestly, having played Ocarina of Time when I was younger, I felt that the gameplay would be difficult for someone his age, and the story would be over his head. He did tell me that he has watched videos on his tablet of someone who played this game, and because of that, he knows what he needs to do and where he needs to go in the game. It still sounds pretty challenging but he sounds like he is up to the task. If I had more time to devote to video games at this point in my life, I might consider trying to play it because it does look really interesting.

I received this game for Christmas along with my Switch and one other game. I initially only played the other game and though I liked playing previous Zelda games, I was a bit intimidated by how Id heard this game described as far as length of play. After a while, I got bored with the one I was playing so I switched to Breath of the Wild, ready to commit a ton of time to really enjoying the game. Holy crap There is SO much to this game I cant believe just how many main quests, shrine quests, side quests, korok seeds, and memories there are. There are a four Great Fairy Fountains to find that can upgrade your armor so you become better protected. There are tons of weapons to be found and though some people complain because the weapons do break after some use, there are so many available throughout the game, youll never really be in need of one. There are a huge selection of recipes you can create with materials you find. Some recipes can even create dishes that will raise your max hearts, max energy, or raise your resistance to the elements. Ive already been playing this game for 140 hours and Im not even near done, grated, I purchased the downloadable content for added stuff to do. This open world adventure involves Link waking up after 100 year slumber to a voice that guides him to defeat Calamity Ganon before it destroys Hyrule. You must unlock pieces of the map and free the Divine Beasts to be able to get anywhere in the game. Since this is an open world, you can make this game perfect for you and your tastes.Like the majority of Switch games, this one runs 59 at most stores and can easily be found at places like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and Game Stop, just to name a few. The additional downloadable content can be purchased via the Switch in your Nintendo eShop OR in store with a card for 19. Rated E10 since theres some violence while you defeat evil enemies like Bokoblins, Moblins, Lizalfos, and Lynels, to name a few, and due to the skill level youd need to really enjoy the game play.

This has been the best video game experience in a few years for me.This game features a large open world with many things to occupy your time with. Some people do not like the open world with several side quests setup that this game features. Maybe if it was a different game, I wouldnt like it either. But I think Nintendo did a wonderful job keeping me entertained throughout the massive amount of hours I spent in this game.Pros1 The artstyle is beautiful, and while not on the same graphic level as some other consoles, I think this game looks prettier than quite a few PS4 titles.2 Link travels to a variety of locations, all of which beautiful. No 40 hours spent looking at locales that all look the same.3 Tons of stuff to occupy Link with. Shrines, Korok seeds, sidequests, picturetaking, and more.4 Smooth sailing as far as gameplay and combat. Very familiar to those who have played a Zelda game before.Cons1 Some shrines required move controls to complete. I am not a fan of move controls I just got the teleports for these shrines and moved on.2 A lot of people had an issue with the English VAs. The VA didnt bother me so much as the sync of the voices with the animation. Just switch to the Japanese and put on subtitles if it really bothers you.Despite the couple of cons, this was such a great game that they didnt diminish my enjoyment at all.

I bought this game during lockdown, and within a few hours, I was totally captivated This game has so many aspects that are just so amazing, the music, the storyline, the graphics, the small details There are so many little things in the giant map that if you were to find them all naturally, it would take you at least 200 hours. I think I have over 300 hours.I would definitely recommend buying the DLC, but I think when youre ready to go into the final battle, because some of the DLC might make the main game too easy idk if that makes sense.I cannot wait for BOTW 2, because if it is as good as this one, this will be the best game series of all time in my opinion. The age rating is 12, but I think people aged 15 and up will get the most enjoyment because of the storyline and conversations. If you want to use Amiibo, you can use most of The Legend of Zelda series amiibo for exclusive items, and any other Amiibo for things like meat, mushrooms, and herbs.

This game dethroned Super Mario Bros 3 as my all time favorite. There is almost nothing tedious in this game, even running from one place to another is fun because the world is so beautifully rendered. The cutscenes are wonderfully made and add a lot to the usual hero story Zelda fans are used to. The voice acting is over the top at times but I think it works. The gameplay is near perfect. The battle system is so smooth once you figure it out. It makes all other open world games seem clunky by comparison. My only complaint is the lack of proper dungeons. The divine beasts are an awesome twist on the concept, but a few regular mapcompasslock and key dungeons would have made it absolutely flawless. Cant recommend this title strongly enough. Its still the best game on Switch

Unfortunately, I have had very little play time for this game so far. My teenager keeps the card in his Switch most of the time, and plays it as often as he is allowed. I could do without the weapon durability, especially early on when you have a small inventory, and it seems like they are constantly breaking. The puzzles have been the highlight for me. While some are mind numbingly easy, some have really taxed my brain and cause my kid to seek guidance from the internet. The length of time the game is likely to take to clear it, which is something I like, may be its downfall in my kids eyes. Im honestly surprised hes stuck it out this long.

At first sight of the world I fell in love with how much freedom it offered from letting you head straight into the story to allowing you to explore every inch of the world. The world is somewhat empty, but it is vast and it fits when considering the context of the games story coupled with the games soundtrack choices. Traversing the world with only a few melodies while having to survive by gathering materials was very memorable. The content of the game is arguably with its physics and how it plays when it is applied into gameplay and the puzzles which fit perfectly. Played it constantly and clocked in around 100 hours of exploring and have plenty of time ahead of me.

Pros A true masterpiece. Now, granted, it wont be for everyone and if you are used to the original Zelda format, this does diverge greatly. However, the level of immersion I experienced with this game hasnt happened since I played Ocarina of Time many years ago. Theres something very special about this game and how it was all pieced together to make such a beautiful gaming experience. From the music and sound design to the physics of the world. Breath of the Wild is a fully realised, living and breathing world with so much to see and explore. I found myself taking an unbelievable amount of screenshots during the game because its just so stunning. I have put a crazy amount of hours into this game and not once did I get bored or find it repetitive apart from when collecting Korok seeds, I stopped after 551. The combat is simple but satisfying, but where things get really interesting is with the Runes. The possibilities are truly endless with the Sheikah slate There is so much fun to be had discovering the many ways you can utilise magnesis and stasis.Honestly one of the best gaming experiences of the last decade. A true masterpiece.Cons Frame rate issues are a shame but dont hinder the experience at all. After playing for a while, the challenge starts to disappear as you max out your hearts and armour. But by this point, you have probably completed the main story and are just exploring Hyrule to find every secret you can. No real negatives, just mild critiques.

This isnt Zelda. Its an attempt at a reality based fictional game. I dont play video games for reality. I play them to escape it. I dont want to warm myself by the fire and have my weapons break every ten seconds. I have to force myself to play it because Im interested in the story. I run from monsters so I dont break my weapons and Im tired of running out of stamina. I simply dont like it and the people making excuses are the kind of people that would defend their vehicle manufacturer if their car only lasted 10 days. I should have bought links awakening instead.
