Description
Compact and capable, the Nikon Z5 is an FX-format mirrorless camera with a well-rounded feature-set to suit both photo and video needs. Its 24.3MP CMOS sensor and EXPEED 6 processor afford wide sensitivity to ISO 51200, quick shooting at 4.5 fps, and UHD 4K video at 30 fps.
Featuring a sleek design and versatile range, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 is a compact standard zoom covering wide-angle to normal focal lengths. Its retractable design helps to achieve the slim form factor that is suitable to walkaround and travel shooting applications.
Built-in to the body is a 5-axis sensor-shift Vibration Reduction (VR) mechanism that compensates for up to five stops of stabilization regardless of the lens in use. This system also works with adapted lenses, when using the optional FTZ Adapter, where 3-axis stabilization is used.
Built-in SnapBridge connectivity to enable seamless transfer of low-resolution imagery as well as remote shooting capabilities. BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and Wi-Fi enables communication between the camera and a smart device and, additionally, the mobile device can remotely trigger the shutter and display a live view image from the camera to enable working from a distance.
Included EN-EL15c rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides approximately 470 shots per charge, and in-camera charging is supported via USB, even when the camera is in use. Additionally, it is also compatible with optional MB-N10 multi-battery power pack for extended shooting times.

Bought this to replace my existing and very old Nikon D5100. Mirrorless is a whole new area to explore and this camera has features I’ve only ever dreamt of having such as focus stacking ability and two DS card slots so you can configure one to backup the other. As I’ve lost important work before, this is a must-have for me. Can’t wait to properly explore this one.

The camera is fabulous. Low light performance is unbelievable. At night in dim street lights it can take bright pictures. With a little adjustment of aperture and shutter speed, the brightness can be made normal so that the photos come off looking exactly like what the street looks to human eye. Great work by the engineers. One issue is that low cost Z mount lenses are not yet available from third parties. But I believe those are in preparation, and till then it is possible to use an adapter. The real problem is the atrocious customer service on an expensive device. My kit came with the wrong user manual. So I asked Nikon for a copy of the manual (after registering the device with proof). They outright refused. A printed manual costs nothing compared to the £1.5K price of the device. If this is their attitude for a manual that costs them pennies, I shudder to think what will happen when there is an expensive issue. So, overall, even with the great camera, I regret not going with the investment in canon. Yet another tech company and good tech development is probably going to get ruined by the out of touch “business” people making greedy business policies. 21 people found this helpful
