September 2024 Pattern Name: Webcam Bought to upgrade from an old C920 which was having issues. Simply plug in and use if it is for basic use, or take some time to adjust levels to fit specific purpose. I use this to stream on Twitch and get a perfect quality with the settings I use.

The day it came I was really excited because the screen and the camera on the outside looked really good, I would say even excellent condition. When taking pictures on the same day I didn’t notice anything suspicious about the camera itself. Then a day later, while looking at the pictures more closely (admiring how good the quality was) I noticed little purple dots on the pictures and video, it appeared only when that spot was bright enough to show those dots. I was stressed out for awhile reading all over internet, then decided to go to the store where they sell apple products, they ran some light tests (not software) and found nothing, I suggested them that maybe it could be something to do with laser/UV damage, they said it is possible but considering they only could do light and software tests they can’t fully say what is wrong with the lenses, but if it’s true, it can get even worse over time. I really didn’t want to send the phone back, because I already bought expensive protection for it and taking it off would mean I couldn’t use it again. But knowing that replacing a camera without apple care would cost me £500, I was very disappointed. This caused me so much unnecessary stress and tears (sensitive human as I am) that my husband said to refund it and buy it somewhere else. I was getting used to the thought that I will have those purple dots on my back camera, but when I found out it was on the front as well, I fully decided to refund it, because I mainly decided to buy the phone because of the camera quality, comparing with my Iphone 7 Plus. Long story short, I bought another phone from BackMarket and it came with barely noticeable few scratches, that I can’t even see now with the protective screen and even without, you have to look pointing it directly to the sun to actually see it. It came with 100% battery health and finally a good camera. Considering I got this phone from Gadget Tree with 88% battery health and messed up camera, I say paying an extra £200 is worth it buying from BackMarket. (Or like I like to say BlackMarket). Overall the customer service was really good, replied fast and got my full refund without having to pay for delivery fees. So Karma point for that! I can’t say to fully avoid this seller, as buying refurbished phones are a gamble in itself, You pay less to get a used phone, and you can’t really know what you gonna get. But if you bought it from here and your situation with this phone is similar to mine, don’t overthink it, just refund it and buy it somewhere else. Best of luck <3 3 people found this helpful

January 2025 Pattern Name: Webcam Bought as a gift for my son, he absolutely loves it! Really clear quality camera, I’m not technically minded but he said it’s got everything he wanted, have seen this camera on other sites and was much more expensive so think I had a bargain.

Bought this to use instead of the webcam in my new high spec laptop. The C922 is miles better. The picture is very clear and crisp and lighting is no longer such an issue. Comparing the two, I didn’t realise just how bad the built in camera was. I teach online and my students have commented on the quality of the image they now receive. I teach in a very quiet room, sitting at my desk and the microphones seem to work brilliantly. Very neat and compact and the mini tripod is a bonus as when not in use, I can close my laptop without moving the camera. Set up is a little tricky because nowhere does it say that you need to download the free Logitech Gaming Software (called this even though lots of us aren’t gamers) and have your camera plugged in to make adjustments. This is easy to do if you play around with it a bit but you can always have a look for You Tube videos. 2 people found this helpful

Generally this is a good web camera. I watched a lot of Youtube videos on how to get the best out of it and I recommend that purchasers who are new to this do the same. Getting the settings correct and using good lighting makes a huge difference. There is a bit of a confusion with the advertised specs.. At 1080p the image is crisp, but the camera will only supposedly at 30fps at that setting. At 720p 60fps supposedly can be used, but I find I can get 1080 with 50fps with the Logitech software and 1080 with 60fps with OBS. Good lighting is needed to use these settings. The results were tested with Media Info to make sure the resulting videos were not mis-reporting their spec. The autofocus tends to hunt a bit from time to time and so many people turn it off if they are simply recording themselves sitting in a desk chair. Software-wise the Logitech software is very good. It has a lot of settings, more that a lot of third party applications and these allow the camera to be tweaked sufficiently to get a really good image. The long list of third party camera applications I tried produced a much poorer images. The exception is OBS which produces a good image too. X-split video was good enough for streaming. The one down side of Logitech’s software is the sound quality. One Youtube tester reported it as being 92 bit. Really quite poor and recording on OBS the improvement was marked. However in installing and uninstalling third party recording apps. I seem to have picked up a codec or two and now get 198kb/s at 48 Hz AAC – Good enough! (Measured in Media Area). The microphones compare very well with my high end Senheisser headset, quite a surprise. They do not give much background noise at all. The free tripod is not so good – mine went for recycling. However the camera to monitor mount is superb and it allows for some tilting too. Overall I am pleased with this camera and can recommend it. Logitech really need to do more with sound settings and codecs. Lastly quite a few Youtube reviewers go on about the Logitech software not remembering the last used settings. This seems to have been fixed. 13 people found this helpful

I’ve been using Logitech webcams for several years. There’s many benefits to using a separate webcam to the one that’s attached to your laptop or all in one. For one you can move it, rather than yourself to get a better shot, and the more obvious reason, the quality is much better. Upon starting blogging again I knew I needed to upgrade the camera I currently had if I wanted to do live broadcasts, or start doing some video reviews of things. In hindsight, when it comes to doing video reviews an actual camcorder or DLSR would be a better choice, but as those can cost into the hundreds if not thousands, for what I wanted it for, a new good quality webcam should do the job. I’ve also recently secured a new position at my place of work, so now that I’m generally stuck in a room with one other person, communicating with others around the business requires Skype for Business, there’s also the opportunity to work from home. So it seemed like I had all the excuses I needed to make yet another tech purchase. Happy with my Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 which was now getting on for about 10 years old and still throwing me out in glorious 720p HD over Skype it seemed a no brainer to stick with Logitech. I’m all for cheap tech if you can find the tool that does the job and doesn’t look like it’s going break down on you within a month, or is just something to dip your toes into that world before deciding on a better product, but for the content I ‘may’ want to throw out there it seemed like sticking with one of the best manufacturers out there was the best idea. The HD Pro Webcam C920 by Logitech has been the webcam of choice now for bloggers, skype & Twitch users for almost 5 years. Knocking reviews out of the park with it’s clear 1080p HD video and clear stereo audio. On many sites it is still to this day the recommended camera to buy, some 5 years after release. But, what’s this. Logitech gave it an upgrade in the past 12 months. The C922 Pro Stream webcam, with background replacement technology and even comes with a little desk tripod. Perfect for idiots like me! So did the best get better, or did Logitech take a backwards step? I guess in reality, I’m not qualified to answer that question, after all, I never owned the C920, so I can’t give a like for like comparison. What I can say however is, that for the price difference, it seems a no brainer to buy the newer tech, It’s about £15 more than the older version, so why on earth would you try and save £15 on tech that’s over 5 years old. On paper, and visually there’s not a lot of difference between them. The C922 does however offer 720p video at 60fps. The design is also very similar, so unlike other tech companies, it was good to see Logitech stick to the ‘if it isn’t broke, it doesn’t need fixing’ rule. Both come with tripod mounts, something many many webcams are missing in this digital age, and it’s a massive trick to be missing, so it’s no wonder Logitech come out trumps for so many users of Skype and Twitch. Also like the C920, both sides of the camera have forward facing microphones, which as far as communicating over the Internet goes, will serve you well. If you’re looking to do high quality tutorial videos however, you might want to look at adding an external microphone. Sound quality for me, will always trump the quality of the video. The USB lead comes in at a good length also, 6 foot, so even if you’re attaching this to a tower desktop system that’s sat on the floor, you shouldn’t need to go out and find yourself a USB extension lead, seems on the design front, Logitech have thought of everything. Video quality is fantastic, which I guess shouldn’t come as a surprise either knowing that the C920 has been out performing newer models for over 5 years, you’ll look super sharp to your buddies, so make sure you’ve popped your spots or applied your makeup first!
So at this point you might be thinking, hold on, you told me to spend an extra £15 on this new bit of kit, but from the sounds of it, it’s not really that much different from the old model, save a lick of paint here and an updated logo there. Personally, I think the desk standing tripod alone, at least adds £5-£10 to the value of the newer package. What about the other £5. Well that comes with the software, and that’s really where users of Twitch for example have been catered for allowing you to replace or remove your background entirely, leaving just you as if you’re in front of a green screen. It’s all virtual, the software, provided by Personify, will aim to detect your head and shoulders and remove everything else around it. Or, if you prefer, you’re able to easily add in a replacement background instead. When it works. When I say when it works, it’s because it’s quite hit and miss, Ideally you still need a very blank background behind you, or it just get’s really confused. It also needs a bit of welly. Odds are if you’re using your PC for gaming anyway, you’ll have the processor the handle it. If you’re after a new webcam, and have around £100 budget for a new one, then I can’t recommend it enough 66 people found this helpful
