Have no issues with this card reader. Has read every format I have used on it.
Az Rafi –
Great little card reader that is small for travel and works perfectly when sharing footage with someone whos computer doesnt have the right slot.
Anonymous –
They make a virtually identical reader that is 2.0. Go with this one since it is backwards compatible. Eventually you will have a USB 3.0 port, if you dont already.
Anonymous –
needed a card reader for new desktop that had none.this simple gadget connects right away and can do what I need load mi pics to the home server.
Becky G. –
Works great on my 2.0 but not on my 3.0 but its not a big deal for most things. This was purchased because my family keeps misplacing my other ones 3 of them can you imagine anyhow I was tired of spending 530 minutes tracking down the others so purchased this so they wouldnt recognize it and take it when they cant find the others and has been here ever since and works for the small files I need it for. It would have had 5 egg if it had worked in 3.0 slot and for the life of me I cant figure that out as they are all backwards compatible. I would still recommend it as it works and small enough to fit in any pocket or hide from others and I assume mine is just glitched for 3.0
John –
For some reason when I put my SD card in the slot of my notebook it doesnt read it. I needed the card reader to make the transfers from the card. This card is small and compact and does the transfer fast.
blackshoe –
Transcend makes quality products, and this tiny card reader is no exception. Its great for travel as it can fit in any camera bag or pocket.
Robert B. –
When paired with an SD card or any other card, these can work 100 like any other flash drive. I have also used this for bootable media without trouble.
Floyd R. –
I just bought a new compact camera and needed a SD card reader for it since my pro cameras only use compact flash cards. Its definitely worth buying.
A C. –
What a useful and versatile product, I picked up 3 of these. I would suggest getting at least one of these units just to have it you can trust it will be very handy to you at some point in time.
Paul K –
Just a simple card reader, nothing fancy here , gets the job done, but runs a little hot.Value for money , Yes I think so.
Anonymous –
Very good card reader, fast and reliable Also plays directly on my TV so I can watch photos and videos on a big screen, too
JAMES L. –
People who report that this reader only runs at USB 2.0 speed probably were using slower cards Class 10 is only certified at 10MBsthe reader is obviously limited by the flash card itself. Very few SD cards on the market are rated higher than 9060 MBs and they are quite expensive
gsharpsharp –
Easy to see how to insert the cards, has LED indication of data transfer.
Galen L. –
Highly recommended for transferring files with a windows 10 PC.
Tonynguyen –
Its very good, fast and nice except only sdhc and micro. Thats why I give 4 stars but I will recommend to my friends
quailstorm88 –
The device is capable to fullfill the promises advertised on the packaging if you have the appropriate SD card and computer. See attached USB2.0 slower and USB3.0 photos. I used a Samsung EVO 80 32GB microSDHC. There are two flaws though, reader is wide so you cannot use the neighbour ports or have to use an extension cable. Also it heats up during usage, but for this price it is not a problem I guess.
Bree –
I only use cameras when we go on a family vacation. Until I bought this gadget, I could never figure out how to get the photos off of the memory cards. I would give them to my husband and he would do something at his office to get the pictures off. I have gotten very sick of having to rely on him for this task, so when I ordered a new LUMIX I added the Transcend card reader to my cart.I tried it out this past weekend and it works perfectly with no issues at all. I slipped the memory card into the Transcend gadget, plugged it into my laptop and it mounted as a drive without me doing anything else. Simple and easy. I love itBree
Dillon –
Ive been using these for some years now, and they have never failed me, even when Ive had to write a lot of data on my cards. I like how they take both microSD and regular SD cards since I have to use the microSD cards with my Raspberry Pi. Its nice not to need to carry around an SD card adapter.
Ryan –
Plug and play, inserted the SD card expecting my photos to take hours to download, but was done within a few minutes No complaints here
Anonymous –
Others have commented on running warm and possibly a lanyard for the cap, but those issues are quite minor considering this reader is super fast, small and works perfectly with every OS I threw it in for the miniscule amount paid for it.
Anonymous –
Excellent card reader, compact and sturdy. Works well
2010ihaveit –
Great product. Works really well. Fast delivery.
Jason C. –
Yes. I bought it to offload digital pictures from my camera faster than the included USB 2.0 cord included with the cam, which it does flawlessly. Because of its size however and card slot locations, I wouldnt use it as an everyday flash drive.
Eugen –
Works great,it doesnt get too hot like others that I have.Speed is reasonable…fast with my M1 Mac mini .Thank you BH,great company to deal with.
Jonathan –
You could get something that does the same thing much cheaper, but this is good quality. However, USB3 does not really do anything for it at this stage because most SDMSD cards cant reach full USB2 speed anyway.
tonys66ca –
If you only need a reader for SD and SD micro cards, this is the one for you. Its the size of a USB memory stick and functions at USB 3.0 speed. It is also backward compatible for use on USB 2.0 ports.
Anonymous –
Works great. Bought to transfer photos to pc from my camera. Only reason I am giving 3 stars is I ordered black. I received red, which looks like its really pink.
P –
The Trnascend memory card reader is great. I handles 3 types of cards. This is convinient for me. I also like that it is available in white. This enables me to see it better when I am looking for it.
Stephanie B. –
I needed a means to see and transfer photos from a digicam card. This item works perfectly.
Dee –
After filming our church services I dont have to worry about taking the camera home to edit video to place on our website. Just pull out the chip and place it in the memory card reader and your good to go
3105 Petko –
Small and very nice. It would be great to have USB 3.1 speeds, but for this price is perfect.
Nicholas –
My PC didnt have an SD card slot so I needed this. It works perfectly and as a thumb drive I can take it anywhere I need. If youre in need of a card reader for SD or microSD I highly recommend this.
johnb6617 –
Works fine. Very fast on a USB 3 port compared to my old USB 2 reader when off loading many large digital photos from the camera SD card.
James –
This card reader is exactly what you need and nothing you dont. Its more compact than some alternatives. It reads SD or Mirco SD.I have never once had a problem with it. It saves me time.It is as fast as my Sandisk cards. Huge difference over USB 2.0I order 4 of these. One for home, work, laptop bag and an extra for travel.Look no further.
Ronald R. –
not recommended anymore After light use I had two RDF5 SD versions fail and the two RDF5K versions are unreliable, speeds all over the place and data corruption
Sharon –
This so far has worked well and traveled well in my bag. I bought it to replace one from another brand that had gone wonky. It is easy to put the SD card in the slot. That is not always the case with other brands.
Charles R. –
I have some fast SD cards and I get good speed out of my USB 3.1 port on my computer using this device, almost as fast as card specs.
Edwin S. –
Nice compact unit. It will be replacing the USB 2.0 adapter that Ive been using for years in my computer repair business. CAUTION, if you need this now, order from a seller in the US. Shipping took 25 days from the date of order to my doorstep.
kaylark7 –
Easy to use and insert the SD card, had no troubles with it. This makes the Higher end Class 3 cards work
Anonymous –
Does what it says it should, without any problems. Good price.
Shannon O. –
Amazing card reader. I was going to get a front bezel card reader, but after seeing the price and reviews of this, as well as realizing you can use it with all of your devices, I went with this. Glad I did. If you have SD cards that you may need to transfer data to a pc, this is an amazing option. You can even lend it to a friend
kevinsbooksandstuff –
I have an older digital camera, a Samsung TL110. I rarely use it, and its like new. It uses IntelliStudio to download pictures to my pc. I updated IntelliStudio and after that could no longer download pics from the camera. Not being real tech savvy, I thought my camera would be useless, but read about card readers and bought this one. All I can say is it works great. Better than using IntelliStudio. Easy to use, small, fast, has more than enough storage for what I do. A very nice buy.
Odeeo –
Great card reader. So much faster than the built in reader on my desktop. Came quickly and a great price. Highly recommended.
samuriah –
I feel like it can fall apart as time goes on, its not super high quality, but it does deliver decent USB3 transfer speeds. For occasional use its good, if youre going to be moving it around and using it regularly you may consider a higher quality version.
1bosco21 –
Fine little unit. Works like it should and easy to use. I have 3 of them, one for my camera, one for my drone, and one in my laptop bag. I like having spares of stuff I use a lot.
pete s. –
Good purchase. Good price.
Anonymous –
Its very quick, compact, and easy to use. The only problem I had so far was trying to get the USB cap off I was afraid I was going to break the thing trying to get it off. Now I just keep the cap off so I dont have to worry about that problem anymore
psandor01 –
J This is not the cheapest, but it is worth the price. SD cards max. I can use its read write speeds steady.
Scott7777777 –
Small, compact, and a good price. My leap Frog card reader failed after only three or four months use, so Im hoping to have better luck with this Transcend. Its more compact and it doesnt have that blindingly bright red led that the Leapgrog had. The led on the Transcend is a dim blue, which is nice. The case is a glossy black while the sides have a matt finish, looks pretty sharp. Again, nice small size too. Good deal.
sassy.w –
This is just like a regular USB. It had 2 folders. It can save quite a lot of files and is very reliable. Very straightforward to use. I have never had any issues with it. I am not aware of its price as I was given the USB by college, so it was free for me.
davidh4221 –
This card reader does exactly what it is supposed to do. My older MacBook Pro recognized it immediately and photo images were quick to load. The only potential drawback, is if you have an external drive or other device plugged into my only adjacent USB port. The photo accompanying this review is from the top, so you can see what direction the cards insert. Both slots are on the same side.
Michael B. –
I needed a way to transfer photos from my dSLR to my newly built desktop and this works nicely. Its not as big as I thought it was going to be which is a plus, and the transfer speeds arent bad at all. I also like that I dont need to install any software to make it work. Overall, I can recommend this product as a cheap solution to transfer SD card media.
Anonymous –
This Card Reader is fantastic. Such a good buy and value for money. It seems to have everything you need for reading SD cards all in an extremely compact package which even has a dust cap Great buy for the price.
William P. –
My oldest device has lasted 4 years now with occasional use My newer devices same model, bought a couple years ago also seem fine with fairly regular use My main Win 7 install sometimes doesnt recognize the device when plugged with an SD card already inserted. There is no issue, however, with first plugging in the device, then inserting an SD card.
graysonander –
Not much else I can say really but these are brilliant for the high speed memory cards if you use USB3. I have very fast speeds with these but I do have a very high spec home built desktop PC. I think it doesnt really matter how good or bad the pc is as long as you have USB3 you will be happy with this. They are a little bit tinny and thin plastic though but worried me a bit because I first thought they ere fake but Iwas wrong. I went onto the Transcend site and registered it and checked its authenticity. It was original and authentic so I am happy and you do get a 3 year warranty too if you register online. I recommend 100 but look after it as it is not for the building site or the water. It takes my Transcend 128gb micro memory card no problems.
Anonymous –
Great way to speed up your otherwise slow file transfer speeds after recording around 20GB of concert footage from a 1080p 60FPS camcorder, or just moving a few hundred pictures at once. And cheap too If your computer has USB 3.0 or you added a PCIe card like I did, theres no reason not to own one
il2014revac –
1245000 great product. Quick read. Copies long files perfectly not like cheap card readers. A little expensive. But highly recommend buying it.
Charles T. –
Got this for faster transfers of my microSDHC Class 10 UHS1 device, both Crystal Disk Benchmark HD Tune reported the speeds as fast, with read speeds faster than advertised by the OEM. As noted in Cons, the device runs hot if used to transfer a huge file or during speed testing. Havent had the device long enough to know if this will lead to shorter life, however Transcend has been a good brand to me to date. And am sure theyll make it right if something goes wrong. Id like to use it to run a portable Linux on, but the heat concerns me, dont know if itll heat up my motherboard or not. Will likely use it for transferring files only. Nevertheless, itll bring out the speeds of any connected SDHC or microSDHC cards. 90MBsec reads on ADATA Class 10 UHS1 card, thats 10MBsec faster than advertised.
Jeffrey S. –
I took 2 eggs off due to the unit taking a little force to plug in and pull out, which feels like it could cause some damage to the USB port with repeated use. Just be careful when plugging it in and pulling it out and you should be fine. This reader just dont work well with my particular computer case, at least with the front USB ports. I cant blame the reader for that, so I didnt take off any eggs for that.
Chris M. –
My Canon T2i 550D stopped working with gphoto2 and I needed a way to easily get the pictures instead of transferring them from my mac. This gizmo worked great.
Rhonita A. –
This product works well to detect and transfer pictures and videos to the computer. The size is quite small so it can be carried everywhere.
Lance –
Very good. Small , not had any errors etc. I wanted something small and reliable and this is it.
Anonymous –
Great value. Does what it needs to in a small package and having a dedicated Micro SD slot is nice for not needing an adapter.
Anonymous –
Great Price so far the item has been working great no issues with detection and seems to work with no driver stability problems on the current version of windows 10 which is super helpful to not have to go digging for manufacturer support if you are wanting a plug and go solution for me, this item would make sense for both Sd and HcXc.
duke11a –
Little to say, it takes full SD and Micro SD and is faster than another type I had, even when connected via USB2.
Jimmy –
This card reader works well and is relatively inexpensive.Note that this device is fairly wide though, and plugging a SD card makes it take even more space. This may make it difficult to use in USB ports that dont have a lot of clearance to the side.
Kimberly –
Works fine. Nice and quick.
SteveL987 –
This card reader works a treat. Way better than unreliable onboard card readers
IanA944 –
These Transcend Compact are excellent useful card readers. So compact you can carry them with you when you travel.
Charles –
I have a small laptop that I use for travel …. that does NOT have a card reader … so I use this card reader … and it works superI have also found that it is very handy for my desktop and larger laptop computers that do have card readers … it just seems easier to download images from the external card reader.
Verite –
I use this to transfer media files from the SD cards that are used in my Sony Ex1. The transfer is quick and highly dependable. Great product for the price.
Anonymous –
Updating review to say even this works, so far this is a winner allaround.
Simon –
Plastic casing lid a little loose and rattles, but metallic insides are sturdy. Does the job well enough, dedicated micro SD card slot is great, no need for an adapter.
Anonymous –
i got to around 10 mbps writing with a usb 2 port, and 30 read, feels more expensive and sturdy than it looks, pretty much expected a board in plastic but it was actually really well made, get it with a USB 3 and you wont notice the difference between a usb stick and an internal
Mark3210 –
First the ProsVery fast on a USB 3.0 port with a fast SD Card.Solid feel construction and very small.Works with SDHC I havent tried SDXC yet cards.Great Price for what you getFirmware Upgradable.ConsNone yet.My opinionI was in need of a SDHC card reader as my internal computer card reader wouldnt handle the cards above 2GB capacity. I found this product at Walmart online, quite shocked they would carry a quality item for such a good price. I have used the item on two different cards and it is fast when using a USB 3.0 port. If you use a USB 2.0 port well you slow down to the maximum speed of that port which is still good when you need to readwrite to an SDHC card. The firmware of the reader is upgradable from Transcend to ensure compatibility with future SD cards, likely SDXC since this capacityformat is just now becoming more popular.I strongly recommend this product if you are in the market for a simple quality SD card reader even if you do not have a USB 3.0 port as this will maximize your speed in a USB 2.0 port and it is designed to be somewhat futureproof, a very nice touch.
Harris –
Works great for my needs. Ive found it easier to transfer files from my older Android phone to my pc by simply removing its Micro SD card and using this reader to do the transferring. Something about Windows 10 and my S4 phone that dont play nicely when trying to transfer files using its usb cable….
Anonymous –
I can now easily transfer footage from my drone micro as to my pc… I just hope I dont get caught
George K. –
ive tried the following SD cards Sony 94MBs 64GB, Sandisk Extreme 45 MBs 64GB, Sony 40MBs 64GB, Lexar Pro 133X 32GB. it had no problem working with any of them, in a desktop PC and in thinkpad X220. i did some quickanddirty speed testing, and all the cards came within 10 of their claimed performance, except for the sony 94 MBs card, for which i got 77 MBs read and 58 MBs write. for these last results, i have reason to suspect bottlenecks elsewhere in my system, not in this transcend SD card reader. overall, im very pleased. ive only owned it a couple of weeks, so i cant vouch for its longevity, but its been great, so far.
morr.wayn –
This card reader is easy to use, fast, compact and versatile with its SD card reader and micro SD card reader.
doosergr –
Pros small, high speed, reliable. Cons the cap is useless, easily gets lost.
Eugene –
The firmly fitting cap comes off to reveal a USB 3 or 3.1 type A male plug.I have only had this a short while but it is effective as a reader and small enough to lose in your pocket or purse which is a good thing.
Ryszard F. –
High capacity SDXC use exFAT format. In order to use them on WinXP you need WindowsXPKB955704 patch from MS. If you destroyed exFAT format on your flash you will be able to restore it after the patch or you can use SDFormatterv4 from the SD Association.
t4r4nis1349 –
As state in title its good , little toy… Made couple transfer tests with in my opinion one of the most popular sd card 16 Gb SDHC class10 ,results below Read average 35 MBs Write average 19 MBs Good enough for me , think is a better option than no name readers Thanks Taranis
mario8928 –
Great little gadget easy to use nice looking and working Also the price it is interesting
racrober9 –
This is an absolutely original, durable, excellent product. Like in photos. Thanks. Buy every body. It is veryvery offered, like the othe rproduct. Thanks.
hk21lesyek –
This is the fastest card reader at this price. Perfect choice, I have one disadvantage its made of a little cheap, seemingly fragile plastic, but works well after 4 years.
Keenan J. –
As stated above, it can only read one card at a time. This is not a hub connector, it is read as a removable disc by Windows. If you are looking for a hub that will read multiple cards at once, this is not what you want
Michael –
I had misplaced my other Transcend card reader, so wanted another one so that I could keep transferring images. This one is faster than my old one and has a slot for mini cards, too.I find the cap to be a bit fussy to remove otherwise, I think its nice to have a cap. My earlier card reader did not.
larryssmallenginesalvage1 –
Does not seem to Ruin SD cards like most do. Cards slide in and out with ease and always connect like they should.
Matthew –
Never had an issue with the Transcend SD card readers. They are compact in design, fast processing, and easy to travel with. Only other note is they tend to get warm to the touch after pulling data off the SD cards.
Matthew B. –
Perfect product for moving around my files from my laptop to my desktop and tablet. I save most of my files for school on an SD card because my laptop has a card reader, and having this device helps me transfer files from between my devices or even work on school computers and always having my files stored on a small card.
blancoluna –
I use 3 of them. Very fast good cheap and comfortable. It used not the sd an microsd slot in same tami but otherwise great.
KAMKen12 –
The product is compact and very fast to copy data. The only thing I was surprised and little disappointed was the cards are inserted from the side instead of the end of the Reader. That is fine for the microSD cards but with the SD card it sticks out too far and cant plug the card reader into the port if the next port on the computer is being used. Just not enough room for both. That is why having the design to plug into the end of the reader would be better. Performance is excellent and the activity light is very useful. Well built and definitely a good buy.
Anonymous –
A great buy for the price. It works quickly and is extremely portable, since it doesnt have any wires. The only downside is that it blocks my other USB port on my computer when it is plugged in.
Roger –
This reader works great. It only does the two sizes of CF, but thats all I needed, and it was 13 the price of the others. Pictures downloaded unbelievably for me fast, in clumps of a dozen or so every couple seconds.
Luis Oswaldo –
the transfer speed is very good, with a high speed read and write sd it is excellent
huferen –
I am very satisfead. Than you. Frank
peque212 –
I bought 2 different ones. Neither one worked as described… They did not even work. Im guessing you get what you paid for.
Tracey Page –
This is great. Its the size of a USB drive, but has two slots, one for SD and Micro SD Card. It works super fast with my Windows 10 Laptop. Just pop the SD Card into slot on reader, then pop the reader into USB slot on LaptopPc it then reads straight away. No setting up, just plug and play. Great little reader.
Adele –
I have needed one of these for ages. Didnt realise how cheap it was at PB Tech. So much easier to add files now from laptop to kids tablets from my phone to back up.
jimt1966 –
Transfer rate using Crystal Benchmark on my fastest SD card 32 GB Samsung EVO SD card was 47 MBs read and 42 MBs write 50MB files or 22MBs with larger 500MB files with this plugged into a USB 3.0 port. with a 64 GB SanDisk Ultra Plus I got 41 MBs read 23MBs write with 100 MB files and 81 MBs Read and 14 MBs write with 500 MB files. I suspect the poor write performance on the sandisk may have to do with USB 3.0 chip set on my 990FXAUD7 motherboard. I read that the 3.0 port on this motherboard is unreliable with Transcend adapters, but not for sure. I am building another computer soon that will have a better 3.0 chipset and look forward to using this adapter on that computer. I dont need any other memory card types so this works great.
Jarrett D. –
Everyone has preferred manufacturers for things, seagate usually makes good hard drives, seasonic makes good power supplies and hynix makes the most ubiquitous memory modules, transcend makes the best value accessories on the market, a mustbuy manufacturer.
Anonymous –
Needed a basic card reader for SD cards and this works just great and you get the added advantage of usb 3.0 speeds for a fair price. Would recommend to anyone.
Summer –
This thing is tiny Dont be fooled by the images it is as small as a usb flash drive. Only gripe is it heats up pretty fast
Anonymous –
Its pretty fast, the speed is close to native USB3.0 standard
viperxp02 –
Much better than noname card readers, transfers faster and the speed is consistent. Highly recommended.
Sandy K –
This little card reader works great on my laptop. it doesnt have a card reader on it, so I always had the mess with the cord. this is so much easier.
Dana –
I like the speed and convenience this reader provides. Makes copying photos much faster than USB 2.0. All this in a small package. I would prefer if the reader had an arrow indicating where the notched edge of the SDHC memory card should go.
StephenB47 –
Even when used in my USB2 ports, this card reader dramatically increased the speed of transferring camera pictures to the PC. No set up required, it just worked straight away.
Dave M. –
This is a great, little affordable sd card reader. Ive recently bought a few more of these, Ive been using our older one for about 3 years and it still goes well.
tkwasny –
Works rocket fast in a 3.0 port. Almost SATA SSD fast with my ultra high speed SDHC card. SD card mounts 90 degrees on the side so this is not a pocketable combo while the SD card is installed. Win7x64.
AnthonyR9 –
Absolutely great product for the price. Does what you need it to do.
Noneofyours –
I just received my Transcend card reader in the mail, and i like it, but the micro SD part of it doesnt work. Ive tried it several times…nothing. At least the regular SD slot does.I bought it to use in my car stereos USB slot for music. Since I have a Pioneer mechless MVH291BT radio receiver, it does not play CDs but is equipped with 1 USB slot and an Aux port. Im done with CDs that scratch easy. YEAHIt does ok for what I need it for so Im satisfied with it. I like the little blue LED light that comes on when you plug it in. lol.
karanbazaz –
Work fine with my jetdrive for MacBook Pro. However, I do have a problem of rejecting it though.
Anonymous –
Excellent. Did exactly what I wanted for a good price.
Man –
needed a microsd card reader and brought this microsd card reader. works perfectly fine.
Dustin –
This is an inexpensive little device thats easy to throw in a pocket or bag if your laptop doesnt have a card reader builtin. Transfer speeds are good, even for large video files. Very useful
bilipunto –
I use it on a daily basis with different types of SDHCSDXC cards from various manufactures. It is a quality product, no doubt and operates with all those cards without issue. And if you plug it into USB 3.0 port, a PC reads card contents almost momentarily, regardless of number of files and regardless of a PCs OS I use it on Win 78.110. Only minor drawback is that you cant use both card slots at the time.
Chris P. –
Picked this up to pull photosvideos from my SLR to my laptop. Im getting solid 90100 MBs data transfers consistently. Easy to stick in the pocket of a laptop or camera bag and does the job well. No complaints here
ElijahB2 –
Does transferring files just as well as any other and for a fraction of the price. Its also very portable
ojdanhr –
Has a good USB connector, quickly recognized by Windows, works quickly
trohill44 –
Well suited for travelling, as I dont have to bring along a card reader with cord. Its also suited for stationary PCs, provided that it has an USBport thats easily accessible.
similr –
Transcend is one of the top brand names, the generics and unbranded card readers just aint the same The last card reader I bought didnt work , I spent my money I felt like a jerk. Transcend is a brand that is trusted some of those off brands just leaves me discussed.
oliham –
Small and travel friendly. Fast transfer speeds. I have reached faster speeds than indicated on the box. Good product. Also you get a free copy of a deleted file finder.
Anonymous –
due to power requirements it seems that it does not work on iOS devices. Works fine on OS laptops, computers
Jesse B. –
Overall, I am very happy with this product and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid SD card read. With it being portable and reliable I have started taking it with me to use on other computers as well since everyone seems to like to see pictures and no one seems to have a card reader anymore.
Donald –
This gadget works as advertised. It can be handy to be able to read a micro sd card directly without using the sd adapter that may have been misplaced.
David –
Great little buy When I opened up the case I was thinking where is the cable then realised it was a USB reader XD. Does exactly what I want it to do and easy enough to carry around and take from place to place.
whocares –
Great tool. Works as intended and looks great, is very small too, wont create issues to neighbouring USB slots. Not overheating. Dont hesitate and order if needed. Thanks to Mindfactory for swift delivery to Finland.
aleshimajo0 –
It transfer data quick and easily to see, I like the way you just plug in and get to work. Its light just like a regular usb.
LiamJ91 –
This is nice looking usb converter for sd and micro sd cards and for the price it does what it should do, recommend it for as it is, but there are cheaper out there
Ol Bill –
This is a compact unit that is capable of reading and writing to both SD and Micro SD cards up to 64 gigabytes without the need for adapters. The protective cover for the USB connector prevents uninterded damage and dirt. For the price it is a good deal. The ability to prug directly into a usb2 or usb3 port without having to find a connector cable is a great advantage. It did take a little trial to determine that you need to put the micro usd card in upsidedown.
DutchIL –
The little readerwriter exceeded my expectations and works fine, especially with tablets… not only the product was what I had hoped for, but the prompt service and delivery of the product was top of the line also..
bboym4rk0 –
Good and fast reader. Used it with the Samsung Evo plus 64GB U3 card. You can see the speeds in the picture.

Its super light and super efficient Had to get one of these because my micro SD card wasnt being recognized by my mp3 player. Now I can retrieve my files

This is the best card reader Ive ever used. Its USB 3 which increases transfer speeds and its small enough that it can go anywhere.
reduncan –
What can I say It simply works. Plug in either your SD or MicroSD card one at a time not both and plug it into a USB port, either 2.0 or 3.0 and it reads and writes to the card. I use it mostly when I need to write to card for a Raspberry Pi board and it has never let me down. I havent run speed tests to confirm actual speed but I suspect that also depends on the actual SD card one is using. I also like the white color as it makes it easier, for me, to find in all the clutter I accumulate. Registered device at the Transcend website easily enough but have never had to use their warranty on any other of their products Ive owned.

Does just what its intended to.

When used with a USB 3.0 connection, data transfer is extremely fast. Worked perfectly. No issues at all.
gatorray26 –
This is a quality reader and works exactly as advertised to quickly transfer photo files from my SDHC memory chip to my Win 10 PC that is 10 yrs old. Now if only I could transfer those files to my ITouch 5

Very fast USB 3 card reader.Works great with MicroSD and regular SD cards.I get read speeds of up to 80MBs

This product works as intended, so happy on that end. Service was bad, I felt like I was interrupting the customer service person and didnt look like he was in the mood to help me either and looked like he wanted to get back to what he was doing. He had little knowledge of the product and made assumptions about the questions I had. Didnt offer any alternatives either. No smiles or welcoming nature and not putting the customer first. Left feeling frustrated and in a bad mood.

I got this to replace an internal card reader which ceased to function correctly. I considered a direct replacement, but I wanted something faster than the old USB 2.0 card reader, and my PC has USB 3.0 ports, but only on the back of the case. So, I got a USB 3.0 extension cable, and this card reader to use with it, and it all works great. Much faster than the old internal reader

Got this as my new laptop doesnt have an SD card reader. Loving it so far, pretty easy to use and and seems pretty sturdy.

Great product. Small, compact and easy to use.

Best little memory card reader for the money. Fits usb drive and takes micro and regular sd cards
Cameron –
Got one of these to replace an old 5.25 USB2 card reader. The USB3 speed is a big improvement, and plugging in this little device just when it is needed is quick and convenient. Would definitely buy again.

Simple to use, perform as promised, simple, no software install. Carry this in my camera bag

I asked the guy at BH for the cheapest SD card reader and this is what he gave me. You get what you pay for. It works but it is a little flimsy. I have had some problems with it. When I plug it in for the first time, only some of the files load, and then it freezes. I unplug it and plug it right back in and it works perfectly fine. I have used it about 20 times so far and I had to do this process about 19 times. Only once did it work the first time around.I only give this 2 stars. It will get the job done eventually, and the price is cheap, but next time I will spend a few more dollars and get a better one.

This was just what I needed to get my gCode files to my 3D printer Well worth getting if you need a MicroSD adapter.

A reliable card. A small blue light tell you when its accessing the card. Been using mine for over a year and, so far, no problems with it at all. Recommended.
Lashawn S. –
I bought this device thinking bit would be a USB 3.0 device as said in the title. It is not it took me 20 to 30 minus to 322MBs to my card. Using my phone works faster also the transfer stalls in progress. I think the peak speed was 2. Something MBs. I now know never to trust the brand and Im starting to doubt Newegg as a company.
Peter –
I use it to transfer photos from my SLR. It uses USB 3.0 and is indeed fast. I got to transfer 750 images in a matter of couple of minutes. There are no drivers needed, which is convenient. It is small and I just leave it plugged in the back of my desktop. The cap you will lose, but that is OK.Excellent price too
Michael –
Fast. Nice compact size but a little wide in that laptop USB ports may a tight squeeze with some else plugged in. Other wise excellant product.
Meryl –
Im very happy with this card reader. Its simple to use just insert your SD card and plug in the USB into your computer.
Hamza –
It arrived on time and I am loving their service This sd reader allows me to look at my photos directly from the card I took them on and makes everything easier.
Iris A –
I have a new laptop which for some reason did not have available a regular SD card reader as an option for it. It has a micro SD card reader but no regular size SD card reader. I have some electronic equipment which uses only the original size SD cards for database storage and I have to use my laptop to keep these databases updated. This card reader was a great solution to the problem. I bought 2 of them so that I could have 1 at home and 1 at the location of the equipment which uses the SD storage cards. The readers work great for doing the updates. They are fast and were a really reasonable price at BH.
Peter –
Excellent high quality product that cant be beat for the price. Does what its supposed to do with no fuss. Highly recommend.
psysoul9 –
Working quite well. No problems until now.
finsale –
Dim blue led inside and very plasticky, but very reliable, small size and does not slip out my hands.
Jody –
A neat little product. Chuck it in the drawer most of the time as larger SD cards will eventually go the way of the Dodo. Easy to order and fast delivery too. Thank you
TerryM334 –
As what my title says, this is probably the smallest ever multi card reader Ive ever bought, and it doesnt even need a cable or anything. Astoundingly cheap for the quality its providing.
Shawn –
Used this for the first time today and it worked beautiful. Its fast, compact, and well worth the money.

Used as internal system storage along with a fast mSD in a server. No problems for 247 use in the passed nearly 2 years.

Works great. Had some trouble initially the drive has two slots one for micro SD card and one for standard SD card. I couldnt get it to read either. Took the card along with my computer to PBs Wairau shop. We discovered you can only have one card in the unit at a time. Solved I now have access to all images etc from my old phones.
The BC Factor –
This reader is very quick. When using my SanDisk Extreme series of cards, I can transfer data around 80 MBs to and from the card. I highly recommend this card reader to anyone who needs fast access to data on SDMicroSD cards.
Dale R. –
I would highly recommend this product.
Ross –
This card reader in my opinion is excellent value for money. It can read the vast majority of cards and being USB3 is fast. It only has 2 disadvantages, being small its easily misplaced as is the cap.
Michael –
I purchased an external SD card reader so that I didnt have to struggle with locating the card reader on the back side of my new iMac computer. Initial tests with he Transcent reader show it to be fast at reading large capacity 16 GB cards. And it is certainly more convenient than the reader that Apple has hidden on the back of the computer. My only complaint is that the end cap will likely get lost as I plan to keep the reader permanently attached to the computer via a USB cable.

The packaging lists that the writeread speeds using a 128GB UHSI card with USB 3.0 can reach 3090. After testing this reader with a Wintec Professional PLUS UHSI card, the results were 6090, so they were as advertised or better.
rocktex –
This device is easily recognized by the computer and stores delivers data very quickly. Long term durability is always an issue, but for now, I would highly recommend this product as being a great value.

i dont have SD Card reader on my custom build gaming pc, so i was looking for something that would allow me to trasnfer my DSLR footage to edit my videos, i searched for many hours till i came across this little device….. I can truly say that i am impressed and i recommend it 100

I got this to read the card from my drone. It has been working fine, no problems on a Mac. It shows up as a drive right away and I am good to go and copying anything from the inserted micro SD is smooth.

Great SD card readerwriter with USB 3.1 technology that makes downloading large files to an SD card very quick. Very happy with my purchase
hppyhrt –
Bought this product for a specific task and it performed just as I needed. Could not be happier.

It was able to write a large amount of data 2.6GB to my G. Skill Class 6 card FFTSDG16GAC6 in 337 minutes at 12MBs 2600000000 bytes 2.6 GB copied, 216.696 s, 12.0 MBs that card is known to exceed its specked performance that was done over USB2, but i dont have any cards that can run at 60MBs My old card reader was the cheapest under 1 thing i could get that had a micro sd slot on it, it worked fine for viewing camera pics, but it was flaky when it came to loading sd cards from raspberry pi projects, so i had been using my laptop for that This is my 1st piece of usb3 hardware not counting my laptop and desktops motherboard

This unit is very compact and has fast data transfer as its support usb3. Just pop it in your pocket like any other memory stick and its ready whenever you need it. Great product . ,Great efficient supplier. Just what i needed.
vrblcalliope –
Nothing to complain about. Maybe not the most bells and whistles if thats something youre into
GabrielS86 –
Wasnt expecting much due to the price but it definitely outperformed my expectations. A great and cheap device for accessing your mSD cards
Corentin C –
The reader is fast and allows to take advantage of UHS1 micro sd cards. The reader is not design to be used as a USB stick, as the card is on the side and can be broken when being carried in a bag.
Barry –
A good data transfer speed using USB3. Ive only tested it with a SD but it also has a slot for the micoSD card as well. The unit is about the size of a memory stick, but a little wider, so you probably wont be able to plug it into a slot with an adjacent stick in place. However, most PCs have plenty of USB slots these days and so this probably wont be an issue. The unit seems well made and the price is reasonable. Bazza

Lighted when plugged in, and responds to the computer with ease. The larger SD cards are becoming a thing of the past. If one has an older camera that accepts the larger SD cards, I would recommend to get a couple when they eventually become obsolete.

This seller is great did everything right to get minium of 5 stars. He didnt get rich in the deal but gets five stars

This little Transcend is a very nice value if you need an SD, SDXC or MicroCard reader. My PC cant read the new SDXC highspeed cards by itself and since I have just gotten a device that uses them, I needed an interface. This USBpluggable little unit works like a charm plug in, PC identifies it, and you insert your card of choice in the reader. Thats it. Regular SD or SDXC show up right away. If you are ahead of the curve enough to have USB 3.0, this unit is ready for it of course it is also backwards compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0. Use this at home or stick one in your bag and there you go. A neat, simple, cheap solution that works. Recommended. C. Harding.
blancoluna –
Best speed for this price. Speed is under 100mbsec but very fast. From 2 cards in the reader we can not copy.
IanA944 –
These Transcend Compact are excellent usefull card readers. So compact you can carry them with you.

Cheap and easy to use. Have one everywhere you keep SD cards. Good for data transfer.
Mary H. –
Needed this to transfer data from my phone to computer, as the USB cable doesnt work with data for some reason. This is super simple to use and works at a nice, respectively high speed.
Roberto C. –
In some cases, it will depend on the controller but in my laptop, the speeds the cards are rated for, are not always near the limit but far off, but then again, my laptop is 3 years old and I cant find newer drivers for the controller, so maybe the speed of the flash memory cards reach their limit. But Id definitely recommend this reader, because it reads both formats and easily recognized my 128GB SD card from Wintec.

works with RPi to read 64GB SD card. Older reader corrupted my SD card.
therica –
First, the card slots are on the side, meaning this device needs the space of 2 USB devices, especially with an SD card inserted.Second, it will only support ONE card being inserted at a time. In other words, you cant plug in an SD and a microSD card to copy from one to the other.Third, the builtin SD card port on my laptop tested out at nearly twice the speed as this device plugged into the USB3 port. This device works fine in USB2 or USB3 ports if you arent bothered by the 3 issues I listed.I bought 3 and will be sending them back.
Anonymous –
I like the compact design, its easy to carry around and I dont have to carry any cables, just pop the memory card into the unit and plug it into the computer and its good to go. It doesnt fit lots of different kinds of memory, but it transfers SD and microSD data to and from the computer at a great speed USB 3.0. The only minor issue is the fact that the cap of the unit has to be put into a pocket or something during use so it doesnt get lost or forgotten since it does not click onto the
Bolimasa –
Works great. Compact. Inexpensive. Makes up for my computers broken reader
Mary J. –
It does what it says I like the cap that you can put on it to protect the end when not in use, and the cap actually stays on Plugged it into my Windows 7 computer and was recognized right away.
Tyler D. –
Tested on both Mac OSX and Linux ubuntu with both SD and microSD. Works great out of box so far. No additional softwaredrivers or setup required. Havent really tested the speeds yet though. Nice size about the size of a regular thumbdrive. Would be nice if there were some way to attach the cover to the back when the card reader is in use to help avoid losing it, but not a big deal. Cover snaps on tight when the drive is not in use, so no worries about it falling off. Would certainly recommend this product.
Alena S. –
I use this primarily with a 64gb sdxc microsd card that I normally leave installed in my Surface Pro 2. When I need to turn the card into a thumb drive I use this. So far Ive observed no speed difference between this adapter and the built in reader.

Sustained read performance of 88MBs read and 62MBs write
kigol –
Does what it promises. Havent gotten it to run at USB 3.0 speeds yet but that could be a product of my SD card and not the device. Either way very handy for the price.
