I upgraded from a 10 year old AMD processor and this CPU is a beast. I use a hyper 212x cooler and have not had any temperature problems. This CPU has handled everything Ive thrown at is so far without stress and I havent even overclocked anything so far. Highly recommend.

This CPU was part of a BYO PC. Target was a machine for working from home in Marketing production and Graphic Arts. Paired with 32 Gig RAM, it handles everything I can throw at it with no problem. Its balance between speedpower and thermal profile is solid, allowing a build using a mid tower case with only a basic passive cooler.

This thing is crazy fast I was in the market for a new processor since I wanted to build my first gaming machine, and was checking this and the intel I9, but for the price this is the best bang for your bucks Yeah the other can be a little faster since got more cores, but when you overclocked the difference would me minimal in my opinion. I am still waiting to get a new graphic card to do a proper stress testing, but for now it is running at 5.1 GHz without a problem. Easy to overclock with ASUS Motherboard. I am not a expert in any means, but with a little of knowledge and information you can set it up super easy.

Just like Paul says… Overall, the Core i710700K gives you nearly the same gaming performance as the Core i910900K, but for 110 less, and overclocking eliminates any meaningful difference in gaming performance between the chips. You also get extremely competitive singlethreaded performance at stock settings.

The AMD offerings might be impressive, all I know is that I built two systems using AMD and both of them crashed constantly. This is my second i7 build, and I have yet to see the blue screen of death. They may not be as fast, but they are plenty fast enough for me, and they are trouble free. My motherboard runs this one continuously at 4.34.7 without any issue. I have it paired with Crucial m.2 SSDs and Crucial 3600ghz ddr4 ram on a Gigabyte Designaire Mother Board.

I recommend this CPU for those who want one of the best processors for gaming. Its only just behind the i9 10900k in gaming. If you havent upgraded since 4th or 6th gen 4790k6700k now would be a good time with new consoles releasing later this year. The smaller die and thicker ihs makes for surprisingly cooler temps than 9th gen. This kind of engineering has some potential for future, smaller and more efficient processes 7nm. Its a bummer that pcie 4.0 wont be supported until 11th gen, but at least with the Z490 platform there is a decent upgrade path from here.

I can easily overclock it to 5.0 Ghz all cores and the system is stable even with Linpack Xtreme. I have a 280 mm AIO, which handles the cooling well at 5.1Ghz when gaming. For heavier applications, my AIO cannot handle anything if the CPU is overclocked above 5.0 Ghz, however. That is why, you may need custom water cooling. While this is technically an I99900k, the 10th gen seems to be slightly better than the 9th gen. Yet, if you see a better deal on the I99900k, you should consider it too.

Great CPU. Used this in a build for my wifes new PC. It clocks great, the temps are very reasonable with an AIO on the CPU and its just quality overall. She was coming from a 4000 series CPU so this was a HUGE upgrade. I actually think I may get one for my gaming PC here soon as well.

The fastest CPU Ive ever owned. Youtube reviewer this, nonsensical hype that, blah blah AMD. I wasnt expecting this kind of performance and snappiness. CPU is around 50 usage while gaming 4k, leaving lots of room for backgroundstreaming tasks. Everyday tasks are instant, gone are the days of buffering. Using ASUS AI overclocking option in my STRIXs motherboard bios, and it hovers around 4ghz most of the time, as soon as a task appears it jumps to 5ghz. Sustained 4.64.8hhz while gaming 4k. All I had to do was click enable AI overclocking. Pretty awesome

First off, this is one of the most sought after i7 gen 10s available and is amazing. OC functions give you the ability to easily go to 5.1ghz and very stable. Secondly, I did a bunch of research everywhere and Micro Center had the best price by far. Definitely recommend this product and I paired mine with the Asus ROG Strix z490e.

I have always used Intel cpus because I could always overclock them very well usually. This 10th Gen i7 is no exception. It runs at 5.0 Ghz as solid as a rock with only a slight increase in Vcore voltage. You can back it down to 4.8 if you need complete peace of mind and it wont disappoint you, except in ONE area. NO PCIe 4.0 You have to get an 11th Gen to handle that, and I would much rather go with AMD for that due to 40 available PCIe lanes. Intel has really let me down the past couple of years, but i am also very glad to see AMD finally capitalizing on Intels greed and complacency.Even so, if you already have a Socket 1200 mobo laying around, you wont regret this 10th gen gem and you should be able to get some good overclocking out of it too. Nowhere close to an AMD 5900X, but for the money, its a solid buy. Just no PCIe support…bummer.

So this upgrade was much needed and I bought it the week before the 11th gen came out and Im glad i chose the 10700k

I bought this mainly because it allowed me to defer getting a GPU immediately, as the prices are absurd for those all across the board.So far, this hasnt let me down, its got pretty good performance and easily does what I need it to. That said, hyperthreading vulnerabilities are a concern with this unfortunately.

Sure the new R7 5800x might be slightly faster in some things, and actually slower in others. The 10700k being 200 cheaper is a no brainier. You need at least a good tower cooler like the hyper 212. And also a lot of z490 motherboards are giving these CPUs more voltage than necessary, I have the ASrock z490 M pro4 that does just that. Easy fix i set an offest voltage of 100mv. Very happy with this purchase.

Disclaimer I purchased this processor for pure gaming and flight simulator purposes. If you want a beast with more than 8 cores then obviously Ryzen is the way to goI tried to configure an 8 core Ryzen gaming platform at better price point and matching performance versus Intel, but couldnt come close. For all the medias biased complaining taken with a pinch of salt about the 10700K KF, the fact that it matches the 10900K in gaming performance and runs at lower average temperatures and uses less power you have a gem of a processor. With a 240mm AIO this beauty runs consistently at 55 degrees or less when base overclocked at 34 Asus AI Suite 3 5.1GHz. Unfortunately the Ryzen processors dont reach the gaming performance of Intel just yet lowhigh FPS. Yes I could have chosen the amazing 10500K and overclocked it, however the two extra cores come in handy when I am watching videos , recording or streaming footage, or have maps up IFR, procedures, airport layouts etc. on a second monitor while playing. Benchmark results unfortunately reveal less than .5 difference in performance of the KF over the K processor, but at purchase the KF was a fair bit cheaper.

I went for this 8 core chip instead of the 10 core for heat reasons, but right now anyways, being that this chip runs at 100c at full load at 5.1ghz anyways, I would probably recommend the 10900k or 10600k, but well see. I could just be an outlier for all I know. Or maybe I spread my thermal paste wrong or something. I will probably update this review if something changes.

So far only been using this processor for around 2 weeks but it has been a powerhouse. Very powerful and smooth and runs at low temperatures so far nothing above 72 degrees Celsius with just a single fan CPU cooler on it. On boost it goes to 4.8Ghz while playing games then I have it drop to 4Ghz when idle so to speak. Very happy so far.

If you want an Unlocked CPU with 8 plus cores and hyperthreading that you can clock to up to 5.2ghz safely and run it that way 247 buy at i9 10900k. Thats what Im doing. Im returning this i7 10700K. Ignore Unlocked on the box and the K on the end. I wouldnt call it unlocked at all. No matter what approach I tried this CPU would not stay at 5.1ghz or 5.2 ghz despite all of the known throttling mechanism being disabled it still always down clocked to 5000mhz despite me setting the multiplier to 51 or 51 and the frequency to 100. The last processor that I used for a long period of time was a i7 8086K and it ran stable at 5.3ghz on all 6 cores. If you want a CPU in this price range that can do over 5ghz get the i7 9700K. I had one of those very briefly before discovering that it had a faulty memory controller. Sent it back to Intel for a refund. But I have it on good authority from the head cheese of my overclocking group its a winner. Intel is going backward

I use to be an AMD user for quite a while. Build new system. This is the best processor I have had. Dropped this in a MSI board with Samsung EVO 970 vnand. From the time I hit the power button to the windows pass code Im up and running online in about 15 seconds. I have seen improved surfing speeds and no problems running multiple applications.

Great performance. Have built 2x PCs with this CPU in the past month and no complaints. Overclocking depends on silicon lottery, which kind of sucks. One of these ran at 5.1Ghz at only 1.29v. The other at 5.0Ghz at 1.28v, couldnt get it stable at 5.1Ghz under 1.37v. It was only about 100 point difference in Cinebench R20 score though. Runs very cool with 360mm AIO MSI 360r. Much cooler than 9700k for me, maybe my previous cooling setup wasnt great. Barely reaches 60C while stress testing for over an hour.

Easy to use, for gaming, go with Ryzen 5000 series. I purchased this since it was in store about 10 minutes away and actually available at MSRP. All Ryzen chips are not available, so thats the biggest reason I went with this.However, for 1080p gaming, this thing is pretty darn good. Allows my OC 3060Ti to run at 95100 in 1080p in modern titles.Boards are really expensive compared to the Ryzen chipset.

Paired this w a Z490M Gaming X and 32GB of Crucial Ballistix RAM. I was able to push a 5GHz allcore OC on my processor with only a slight adjustment to the Vcore. Im sure I could push it a bit further with more testing, but so far its been fast enough for my usage.

I went into the store on this day just to get a cpu fan, but ended up walking out with the 10th gen I7 ksku. It has been a really great processor. I brought a new motherboard that day as well and ram from another location. As the intel i7comet lake models have a new LGA 1200 chipset.This cpu is quick good for the money, It isnt easy to quantify the performance of a cpu, but I can say coming from a i77700k 4 core 8 threads to an i710700K 8 core 16 threads makes a difference for work loads that are processor heavy.The install was very easy and the packaging had the minimum, I would suggest anyone installing a processor for the first time to at least look up a guide on it. As it is easy, But I have also seen people screw up when installing a new cpu for the first time.I am looking forward to over clocking the 10th gen ksku processor.

Bought this around Xmas time 2020 for 275 ish. Easily OC to 4.9ghz all core and auto turbo boosts to 4.74.8ghz all cores which is more than you need for gaming. Very stable and great gamingmulti tasking performance.

If you are going to get an intel CPU, make sure to get an unlocked one like this. Its competitively priced and definitely a great CPU. Performs much better than the i5, but doesnt hit your wallet as hard as the i9. Make sure you get the proper cooler though

Probably overkill for today, but fantastic for furtureproofing. Probably wont need a new processor until after this socket is phased out. Ah, gotta love that planned obsolescence. Who doesnt love gutting their machine every few years. But seriously though, if you have an older processor, get it. If youre on an unlocked Coffee Lake i7, then you are probably fine because that seem like the improvements would not be huge, but if you are on an older processor, really consider this.

Quarantine had me going stir crazy, after fighting with my NUC Hades Canyon for 7 minutes longer than I should have I decided it was time to invest in some proper kit. I watched a bunch of videos on YouTube thinking that to build a PC I needed glasses at least a quarterinchthick and a pocket protector to keep me safe.Turns out, I snagged this processor at MicroCenter. The guy showed me the basics of install, turns out playing those shapematching games as a toddler paid off. There was a triangle to match up to another triangle on the motherboard and a nifty little lever to hold it in place. Im used to levers from the casino, but this one didnt make me cry as I walked away. Now I have a sick PC. Loving my NZXT H510i, with all the NZXT accoutrements. This thing is fast, maybe just a little bit slower than lightening but definitely faster than a sloth, theyre really slow though so you be the judge of how fast my new PC is.

This is a fantastic CPU for the price I was originally trying to find a Ryzen, which are difficult to get for a decent price now days, but this is a great purchase if you do not want to go the AMD route. Its essentially better than an i9 9900k performance for the exact same cost.There were some concerns regarding the idle and under load temperatures, but I have not seen any temperatures above 65C even during continuous stress testing on stock clock speeds.No regrets with the purchase, would do it again 1010.

This generations i7 is literally last generations i9. It runs cooler than last years i9. But numbers wise, theyre literally the same thing. Oh intel Thats not too say its a bad thing, it is what it is, an improved i9. Now, as for performance, Intel is still king, strictly speaking in regards to gaming, AMD is better for multitasking and everything else.

I recently purchased for a new build. Going from an i57600K and thought of upgrading to a new i7 because of recent gaming on a MSI laptop with an i7. Went for this 10700k because I do some minor OC but not enough to over do it. Ive been extremely happy with this purchase. My previous build with the i5 has a 2070 Super and it felt like I was getting less than stellar performance because of the weaker CPU. Slapped the new i7 in there and now Im getting the gaming FPS that I was looking for.Bought it from BH because not just the price but the free Expedited Shipping. Other online retailers were offering it with same price and but with paid or shipping that resulted in more time.Will always shop with BH again for my PC needs.

This was purchased with an MSI Z490 motherboard and the combination works very well. While the rated clock speed is 3.8GHz per core, monitor software shows that each core runs at 4.9GHz turbo boost whenever theres an actual load.I have not done anything special to overclock it, which the MSI board offers, because there seems to be little reason Im already close to the fully boosted 5.1GHz turbo speed. This is important to me since my application long LTspice circuit simulations does not always thread well, so I need to maximize clock speed per core, which favors processors like this i7 which offers higher turbo core speeds but a smaller thermal footprint than an i9 with a greater number of possibly slower cores.Im using it with a Cooler Master HYPER 212X, which is a bit fiddly to install, but once you get it attached properly, it does work really well, and helps to achieve maximum clock speeds. I did not want to mess with liquid cooling, and given the reasonably low peak temperatures I see, I dont think theres a need for any better cooling.Since this is primarily a compute machine, I am using the built in graphics, and they work quite well without the hassle, expense, and heat of an extra display card. This version of the i710700 provides built in graphics, but not all do so make sure you pick the right one if you need this feature.Overall, its a great processor that works reliably with no tweaking or special setup. I may explore overclocking at some point, but for me, reliability is more important, so I will probably leave everything as stock, essentially underclocking the RAM and running the processor at its factory settings.The pricing on this processor is also very good, significantly better than I have seen online, making it a great priceperformance value. Im glad I chose this model and that I purchased it from Micro Center. No regrets at all.

Got this when i upgraded my MB. I notice better FPS immediately. Have it on an Asus TUF Gaming Z490 MB. Not real big into OCing but with the XPM it was easy to get the clock speed up. You will definitely need a aftermarket cooler. I threw an old stock cooler on it, and she was running hot while gaming. I added the Cooler Master Hyper 212 and everything is running at very good temps.

Great processor for the price. I bought it as a temporary while I wait for Rocket Lake to come out because the price was right. For 4k gaming it is completely sufficient. I lost the silicon lottery though, there wasnt much overclocking headroom.

I was a little sceptical about buying any intel 10th CPU, especially the i7 or i9 after watching alot of reviews saying that AMD was a better option. I was originally leaning towards the i9 as I would make use of the extra 2 cores but ended up settling for the i7 for now. And I might end up keeping the i7 as it just a beast. Reviews said that it would be running hot but I am running at 24 degrees idle and 32 degrees on work load. On full load Im seeing temps of about 5961 degrees and this is all on an air cooler Noctua NHu12a with TT fans. There is nothing else that I can other than its very fast and powerful. It does what an i7 is known to do, blow other CPUs out the water. It may be beaten on Priceperformance but for me and what I use it for, it is doing an exceptional job. Definitely recommend for anyone that wants speed, power and reliability.Cannot give gaming review as I do not have a GPU yet.

System has new ASUS ROG Z490E i710700K. Installed a used Intel 900P SSD from a Sky Lake system into this system did a fresh install of OS apps SSD Latency Increased substantially, Seq. Performance Decreased 8, and 4K Random LowQ Performance Decreased about 25. Currently working with Intel reps on both matters, but their response has basically been unproductive so far. Will update this post, if resolved.

This is a very very good processor. It was certainly made to replace the i9 of the previous generation. The problem that majority of PC builders mentioned, was the temperature. This CPU doesnt really have that problem. ALSO, if you go with the i7 10700 the NONK version, the temps seem to be hotter. You would guess an unlocked CPU would get hotter then its cousin, the locked CPU, but with my experience, NOPE. I own both 10th generation CPUs. You cant feel anything when you are streaming, its so powerfull. This processor its a beast within OC. I do would recommend a good water cooling, temps playing and streaming can be high as 65 degrees which stills being very good. Totally recommend this

I got it for 290, Ive waited and waited for amd to get supply in and it never happened. Originally wanted the 5600x but Im not going to pay scalpers. So I went with intel to upgrade my 6700k. No regrets its pretty good and if you play at a resolution of 1440p or greater theres very little difference in FPS compared to amds offerings. Plus its in stock.

And the biggest plus, its actually available to buy off the shelf without having to refresh for hours. Ive paired it with an EVGA rtx 3080 FTW3 Ultra and its a winning combination for sure

Had a 5600X and 3600X in hand as a comparison before committing fully on my build. As prices were in the same range as AMD at time of purchase, final decision came down to see future GPU market as it was, and having the iGPU 24 additional coresthreads, made this the winner. Majority of recent games as well still see a slight bump in performance and stability on Intel presently.

This processor is great. Games well, but it does run on the hot side. I am now getting temps in the low 70s C when I am gaming. Make sure you buy a good heatsinkfan combo. Idles in the high 30s. I changed cases as before it was in the 90s during a game. So make sure your case is well ventilated too. It is priced right and works perfectly pared with the MSI Z490 gamer plus.

Upgraded from an i57600K 4C4T no question about the increased processing power of 8C16T. Its mated to a Gigabyte Vision D board, paired with 4x8GB of Corsair DDR43000 C15 RAM purchased from BB that I had leftover from my Z170 setup. Depending on ambient temp in my house, so far during the summer, the processor idles between 28C32C. Im using a Hyper 212 EVO Black RGB also sold here. If you want to overclock, I would recommend a beefier air cooler, like Noctua, or go AIO.CPUZ benchmarks at stock get me 579single with 5756multi. If I push the processor to 5ghz on all cores, I can get to 598 and 6073, respectively, but the temps get a little high for my liking upper80s when running Handbrake encoding and Prime95 26.6… still either need to continue tinkering with BIOS temps and settings or beef up the cooler. In contrast, at stock settings, the cores vary but never exceed upper 70s when doing the same tests.As for the i710700K vs. Ryzen 7 vs. Ryzen 9, yes, no question AMD is the better bang for the buck. With Ryzen 7, its quite a substantial savings however, for a few bucks more, you can get more coresthreads with Ryzen 9… Regardless, even this processor, is likely overkill for most users. Ive been using Intel for years, so I stuck with it, plus I wanted 5.0 stock for the sake of it. I expect this build to last me 3 years. Its a shame that the KF chips are nowhere to be found in the US. I was wanting to buy it to save a few bucks, but I got tired of waiting.

I purchased this CPU for about 270. Its a great price for the amount of performance it gives compared to other cards in its range. For this pricing its probably a no brainer to go with this CPU since compared to the 11th generation, this gives you far more value.As for the specs, this 8 core CPU does wonders. If paired with a compatible motherboard like the z490 boards, you can unlock this to its full potential. I was able to get overclock increase its power to 5.0ghz at 1.3 volts. Essentially giving me more power than what it would be if i just used it out of the box. I recommend getting one of those z490 motherboards at microcenter as well to draw out more power from it.Also I would recommend getting a good CPU cooler, preferably a liquid cooler for better cooling so this CPU can run its best.Definitely will recommend my friends and family to get this CPU here at microcenter because as far as I know, this is only place I have seen it for this price.

I bought this to upgrade from my 9700k and wanted to overclock. I could not seem to get performance increases with overclocking the 10700k. Aside from that, I decided to get a Ryzen 9 3900x because its about the same price and I get more for the money. The 10700k runs excellent though and was very easy to install, but with AMD there seems to be little issues to deal with. Also, I learned that the 3900x isnt easily overclockable either. Both of them are already basically adjusted to perfection stock.

I was debating upgrading my old 3570k with either the 10600k or 10700k. Microcenter basically made the decision for me with an awesome sale that was over 50 cheaper than their closest competitor. With a minor overclock with a 240mm aio I was able to hit 5.1ghz on all cores easily and even at 5.2ghz all core I only had one crash running prime 95 for an hour. Ive heard of people running this chip at 5.3ghz and I have no doubt under standard gaming sessions the chip would be fine at that clock, but the chip does get quite hot at full load after time. I settled for running at a stable 5.1ghz all core and I have to say this is one beast of a gaming processor.

I have just built my first gaming PC after more than a decade long years using consoles. It is not fully configured yet but I can already see the performance difference between consoles and PC. It is beyond what I have expected. As for the Intel Core i78700K, it is for me at this time the best value for money with out sacrificing gaming with 1440P 144Hz or driving a big hole in your wallet spending on the more expensive 9th generation Intel Core processors of course with a capable GPU. Hopefully with the silicon lottery, I can overclock the rig further.

I own or have owned nearly every CPU from the past 5 years from both Intel and AMD. When it comes to plug in play, predictable, consistent performance intel is the best. As this chip is essentially a 9900k for less money and better memory support with hugely improved z490 mobos at the 300 price point makes the 10700k an easy decision to make. Clock speeds are hugely impressive while being very stable. I have a lazy OC on some Samsung Bdie at 4000mhz which the processor enjoys. For 400 its still less than any 9900k out there and comes with more future support than z390.If you are after a bargain then sure go AMD. However, i value, highly tuned performance while offering a stable and extremely reliable systems which are not high maintenance and picky. Paying a little more and getting that reliability is worth every penny and more.

Very fast and responsive. It has handled all the Photoshop rendering of very large files and the games I could throw at it. Although it is rated at 3.8 GHz, it is consistently over clocked at 4.7 by my Asus motherboard automatically and without any required input from me. At this price and performance I consider it a good value compared to the cost of i9 processors.

While there was nothing wrong with my i5, I wanted something that would last me longer and give me a little more kick. The i9 seemed like overkill since Im mostly gaming on my rig. So I paired this with a 3060ti. Apex and Rocket League are my main games and I get 180 frames easily. Also have no problem having friends Twitch streams running while Im gaming.

Basically the same performance as a 9th gen I9 for a current 10th gen i7 price. All types of headroom for overclocking. Have 5.0 GHz all core super easy. Still room to go higher. Wish intel would get 10nm chips out. Unless they make some real progress the next couple years will go AMD next.

Wanted a R5 5600x and waited, checked in at store on mornings they opened, etc and they just were not available. So I spent 30 more and got the 10700K and Im very pleased. This was an upgrade from my i5 6600K and Its dramatic. With my AMD RX5700X video card and 16gb of mismatched ram next upgrade Im maxing framerates at 165hz on starwars squadrons and It plays COD Warzone cranked up at 1080p very well.Of course after being told it will be a while before more 5600x cpus will be in shock They now have 18 in stocks 2 days later. Sigh.

The great intel v AMD war and role reversal with quality v price. AMD may make better chips for commercialproduction work and benchmark results are generally better comparing equivalent chips. However for gaming taking into account pricing and OC, an Intel equivalent is currently I feel the better option in terms of the value of performance you get out of gaming. As I do not use a computer for videorendering, I am not so concerned about anything else.Also lets be blunt, from a gaming viewpoint in 3 years time when you want another build, who cares that another chip gave you 35 more performance for an extra 50100 as long as the motherboard you find is well priced Use the extra money on the GPU

This is actually a good processor and an even better one at the current price.Do not bother with 11th gen intel, just get this or a 10850k.The AMD 5900x would be a compelling higher end product over this, but a 5800x is just too expensive for how close it is to this 10700k. Definitely recommended.

Recommend this product. Easily work with ASUS TUF Gaming motherboard, and H100i Cooler. Overclocked. Temperature is well controlled after running some big numeric calculations using all the cores.

Its effectively a rebadged 9900k albeit just over 100 cheaper. Great thermals under load, decent overclocking potential, and great single core performance. Breezes through all modern titles and performs nicely on all my 3D software. If you prefer sticking with Intel, you wont have any issues with this CPU.

Although this processor is pretty expensive, it is Intels latest generation update so you will be getting your moneys worth. I have been using this for the past couple weeks throwing everything at it from new games at ultra settings to increasing my boot times and it takes it all. Im loving this especially since I got the motherboard bundle deal.

I came from a HaswellE i75930K which had HORRIBLE IPC performance. I would get drops while gaming of about 20FPS. This was in Fallout 4, Metro Exodus, etc. Bought the i710700K and clocked it to 5.0 ghz 1.26V I got a hellava chip boys and my slowdowns died like the dinosaurs NOT ONE DROP WHERE THERE WAS BEFORE SO SMOOTH YOU COULD TASTE THE FRAMES Get it if you can You wont be disappointed.

READ FIRST CLAIMED CINEBENCH SCORES AND TEMPERATURE ALLEGATIONS First of, i would like to call out almost EVERY major reviewer and benchmarker out on the internet for the following LEAVING MCE ON MCE for those who dont know the term, is Multi Core Enhancements, BUT it may have a different name depending on the MB Manufacturer, in my case MSI names it ENHANCED TURBO and it comes ON by default. What it is is basically a MB overclock, boosting all core and single core clocks as well as a horribly high voltage. Since its not tuned properly it just outputs such a high voltage to guarantee a safe overclock, at the expense on temps of course. This option is NOT STOCK, so naturally Cinebench scores are 510520 single and 51005300 multi, but with temps up in the 90c, cooking with an AIO A TRUE stock i7 10700k will do 480490 single 48004950 multi but with temps as high as 75c with the same AIO. SO if you plan on running STOCK be sure to disable this feature as its basically a trash factory overclock. If you are gonna OC, then you probably know what your doing so thats that. Excellent cpu, hands down. People constantly ask me why i got this cpu if 1. there is AMD, and 2. the 10600k is better for gaming, which i do the most. The reason is that i come from an i5 4670k, which 6 years ago was a better offering for gaming than the i7 4770k. Today the 4670k is doing 100 load and bottlenecking in games like COD Warzone, while the i7 4770k is still doing ok. So in theory X years from now the i5 10600k will be struggling while the i7 with the extra 2 cores perhaps will have still some life left. And for AMD im simply not interested in what they offer, as simple as that. I mean if i buy a Ford is because i like Ford as a brand, and why should i be inclined to buy a Toyota for example Intel is my choice, not because its better or not than AMD, just because i want it period.

I picked this up because I needed a new motherboard and they had a great deal on a z490. There maybe a 1 percent difference in performance from the 9th generation. However if you are looking to upgrade from older generation you will see a significant increase in performance or if you are building a new PC the 10th generation is a good route to go.

This thing is a beast, runs any game or program or both at the same time. It does run a little hot but with a decent AIO or Air Cooler, it should be fine. Im not sure if its better than the 5600x for gaming but I do a LOT more with my PC as a Youtube content creator, programmer, and avid CAD program user. I can say this thing eats everything I throw at it. The main difference for me was the price. I at the time of my purchase the 10700KF was 260, the 5600x was 399, Kind of a nobrainer. Day one review I purchased the 10700k as an upgrade from my 9600k. So far the performance is as expected. I ran some gaming benchmarks to compare with my Z390 9600k setup and there were no surprises. My display is 3440 x 1440 and my RTX 2070 Super is struggling to keep up with the i7 in all but the lowest graphics settings. Its difficult to get any significant average FPS bumps at this resolution with graphics settings that I normally use. There is a bump in highest FPS though it is offset by some weaker lows. Kind of strange. Im chalking that up to a different MOBO chipset manufacturer factory BIOS settings. On the plus side the thermals are outstanding Today is the hottest day my system has seen by far. Ambient is a good 15 degrees F hotter than any day previous and the CPU core temps, with fresh paste and with a good amount of air bubbles still in my water loop, are around 10 degrees C less than the 9600k ran. Running game benchmarks my 9600k would run in the high 40s spiking into the 50s. The 10700k doing the same on this hot day is hanging out in the mid 30s and occasionally spiking at 40. Right now all eight cores are idling at 2930 C. Amazing When the RTX 3000 series comes out the 10th gen CPUs should have a little more value. If you have a 9th gen Intel CPU right now, maybe wait for Rocket Lake. This is a big investment especially with the added cost of a new MOBO that is also needed. I like this processor is very fast. I was on a 4th gen and now Ive upgraded to a 10th gen. I was on a Intel 4th gen 4970. and it was good for its time. but I can see it getting really old and slowing down on tasks it used to do so easily. so I knew it was time to upgrade. so I save up a lot and waited by the door patiently listening for the doorbell. I suppose you all can understand how I feel I was so anxious to get started and building my PC. or should I say upgrading my PC I had to buy a new motherboard for the processor obviously new processor. 32gb ddr4ram 3200mhz. I hope this is useful for you make sure if youre upgrading to this processor you get a 80 pin power supply. I used to have a 700w power supply but it wasnt enough and it didnt have all the pins I had to get a 750w power supply 80 pin so I had the extra 4 pins to plug on the motherboard.

Great cpu and handles everything I throw at it. Doesnt run hot at all in my rig. Idle temperature is around 28c under full load 65c. Highly recommend this cpu, got best buy to price match it for me. Grab one you wont regret it.

Great processor if you can get it on sale its widely available and motherboard options arent unreasonably expensive. The sample I got works extremely well and was able to be lightly overclocked fairly easily. A great midrange processor that isnt as hard to justify as the 10900K cousin.

This is the 10th gen MVP. The extra cores on the i9 arent important for gaming, and the boost clock is the same. Glad to see hyperthreading return to the Core i7. AMD may have the better multitasking architecture, but you pay a lot extra core for core. You have to bring your own cooler, but you were going to do that anyways with a high end CPU.

I had been wanting to upgrade my processor for a while, coming from an i74790k, but did not like that the 9th generation lacked hyperthreading. Decided to go for this generation, and I could not be happier. Still using an aftermarket air cooler I had on my last chip and its still easy to keep cool. Havent even had to overclock yet, but I suspect it has a lot of potential. All of my games saw a massive performance increase. Specs RTX 2080, 32gb DDR4 RAM, i710700k

Im surprised how much extra performance Im seeing compared to my old 7700K, at 4K resolution of all things. The extra 4 physical cores definitely help, as well as I guess the higher IPC. What really surprised me was how cool this ran relative to my old Kaby Lake chip. Im using an old Corsair H105 bought in 2016 and shelved until today and I dont think Ive even crossed 70C on any single core. At first I thought I had to get a newfangled AIO or a sturdy NHD14, but apparently not even until this H105 croaks from old age. Get this if youre upgrading from SkylakeKaby Lake you cannot wait for AMDs Ryzen 5600X to come in stock you want something that doesnt require cryogenic freezing to keep cool

I just switched from AMD Ryzen 8 core 16 thread CPU to Intel. I had stability issues with my Ryzen system, from bios updates to software updates and RAM issues. I was tired of these things happening and I wanted a system which just worked. During the install of my z490 motherboard and i710700K I noticed the motherboard appeared to be built better than the equivalent AMD motherboard I had, there was definitely a difference in weight. I preferred the bios which came with my z490 board for my i710700K compared to the bios with my Ryzen system. After getting my PC rebuilt and turning it on everything just worked. I quickly noticed a performance increase in everyday tasks. Things ran smoother, software programs worked better my RAM worked at its rated speed and I was able to increase the speed and tighten timings compared to my Ryzen system. Im now getting more performance in gaming because I am able to fully utilize my GPU, according the statistics from MSI afterburner. Im not saying Intel is perfect nothing is, but I have not had any issues since Ive switched from AMD to Intel.

I upgraded from a 4930K allcore OC 4.4 ghz and immediately noticed the difference in speed after tuning and settling on an allcore OC of 5.2 ghz. Heat dissipation is much better as is power utilization. I was able to utilize the same water block for the CPU with the 115x backplate and screws that the original block came with its 9 years old BTW. This old cooler is keeping me from hitting 80 C in OCCT with medium AVX2 settings and Im keeping my Vcore under 1.33v. Peak power around 200 watts with average being in the 150s. Games play ultra smoothly 1440p 75hz and Im able to take full advantage of my 2070 super without the annoying bottleneck of that older i7 silicon. Video compression is so much faster as well. 8 cores working 5.2 make a difference. R 3700 may beat it on that front but I really dont care if handbrake takes a couple more minutes. I want awesome gaming, more Glad I bought it. Was 150 less than I paid for the 4930 in 2012. Go figure.

I was definitely stuck on trying to get the AMD 5600x, due to the current slot on my motherboard, but after weeks of waiting I took a second look at this CPU. I ended up trading up to another motherboard and tried this CPU. Definitely a great performer like night and day compared to my old CPU. A little pricier than the AMD but performs without issues. With some overclocking it will probably out perform the 5600x in all benchmark tests including single and dual core.

Picked up around Black Friday 2020, came well packaged and shipped by Best Buy. Finally built my PC January after scoring a GPU. Great priceperformance, easier to get than a 5600x was, reliable, no frills, exactly what youre expecting when you order an Intel chip.I mostly game, very little content creation, some work, and this CPU does everything I ask with gusto, even before overclocking. I slapped an AIO water cooler with 3x 120mm fans on it, and its honestly overkill lol. I stress tested it, it performed perfectly, and it never went over 60 degrees C. Time for overclocking

Ignore the people telling you to get the new Ryzen. Intel still outshines AMD in gaming performance, although it is much closer. PCIe 4.0 is estimated to be a 1 performance difference. Whereas I think its stupid that Intel didnt include that in these processors, it doesnt even matter in the real world. Stick with Intel.

Just came from a i7 6700k at 4.8ghz of 4 years at 1.4v to the i7 10700k and let me tell you. Worth every single penny I havent overclocked the 10700k yet and honestly I dont need too for 1440p gaming. Bfv isnt at 100 cpu usage 247 anymore. No more micro stuffers in games. Call of duty modern warfare though runs about the same. Slight increase and less studded. But its a very optimize game for lower end hardware. Love that all the msi z490 boards are gen 4 but only when you buy the 11th gen processor when it comesout so their is a upgrade path at least. Temps are insanely good. My 6700k at 4.8ghz in game was about 6070c. My 10700k at 4.8ghz is 4050c in game. So for clock for clock its 2030c cooler. And thats with 4 more cores and 8 more threads. Pretty impressed so far. Itll be years until Ill need to overclock it for games and Ill be going 11th gen more than likely for pcie gen 4 before I even get the chance to do it.

This is a good processor. If youre gaming, look no further, this will give you the best performance on the market right now. The 10900k offers only 1 or 2 frames MAX for gaming, but is great for other tasks such as video editing. I cancelled my order of this chip however. Why Because AMD is announcing their New Ryzen chips by the end of the year and intels 11th gen chips have been highly anticipated and they are just around the corner. My 4790k will be more than enough till then.

Dont pay much attention to the amd shills that post negative comment about a product they havent experienced. Just go watch youtube framerates comparing intel to amd. Intel is and will remain an industry leader which customers can rely on. If you are looking for the best gaming cpu, chose intel. If you are looking for the best productivity cpu, chose intel and rely on gpu to do heavy workloads which is better for heavy workloads anyways. AMD is trash.

Upgrading from an 4500HQ that i had for 6 years. This chip absolutely thrashes that old codger. I havent even pushed it too hard and Im able to get a solid 5.0 1.28v will go for 5.1 and will update review then. Everything i do seems to happen instantaneously, I can finally have 500 units on screen on AOE2HD without even a hiccup or drop in fps could never do that with the 4500hq, i would go into single digit territory. And the best part This chip runs COOL, I have the cpu paired with a 240 aio in pushpull and the temps would barely go past 71c during hour long benchmarks, it would usually hover in the midhigh 60s. In game i cant even hear the fans run even when the screen is literally covered in units so this cpu will take any game on and crush it with ease will see where Im at once i get to 5.1 and will update as well. In short, if you want the best performance in gaming without having to buy a largeexpensive aio or even custom this is the cpu for you.

I had a 6 year old CPU and I basically bought this one for approximately the same price which was on sale for two major points. Compatibility as well as effectiveness. Compatibility for natural aging of the system and Intel hasnt failed me yet. The effectiveness is fantastic considering the amount I paid for it is the same, before inflation. Consider a 3050 increase, that cant be beat. My only surprise is that it didnt come with its own CPU fan but I already had one so that was fine.

I recently bought this for a new build where I was coming from a much older gen Core i5 that I thought was doing a great job already. Let me just say this thing has tons of performance right out of the box without having to do much of anything and showed me just how much theyve come along since my last build. It installed in the socket with no issues and for the little bit of work Ive done on my machine this sits at a high of about 30 C most of the time. Im currently waiting to get a graphics card so I can truly start turning up the dial and see just how much this thing can really do, but I have full confidence that itll handle it with no issues

Amazing performance i stepped up from a i56600k and the performance upgrade is insane. I went from some games at 98 cpu usage to 2030 on the same game with this processor. I also have not upgraded gpu since that is impossible to purchase at the moment, but this paired up with my old 1060 6gb still gained up to 40fps on some games.

Currently, the i710700k is probably the best price for performance processor for gaming and productivity. It is slightly faster for games at 1440p compared to a AMD 5600x but is slightly ahead in productivity tasks because of the 8 cores with hyperthreading compared to the 6 cores on the 5600x.People might have concerns about cooling or power usage but the chip uses solder to help conduct heat. I used a cheap 30 tower cooler on Amazon and it stays at 45C idle and 70C at load. It can also undervolt pretty well to save power for the same performance need z490 motherboard.Overall, at current prices, it is one of the best value CPUs for gaming.

Coming from a i74790K this upgrade was amazing. I can feel and see the difference. I paired it with a 3 fan AIO cooler from amazon, and idle temps stay around 2833c depending on room temperature. underload its around the 40s… No complaints what so ever. I would suggest getting the 10850K instead, as the performance is higher and for about 100 dollars more.

I managed to buy the last i7 they had in stock at my Micro Center for around 380. At that price, I definitely feel very satisfied with the performance I get out of this CPU. With the unlocked capabilities it offers, I am able to overclock it to achieve very close performance to its more capable brother, the i910900k, for considerably less.The only regret is the lack of PCIe x 4.0 support from this generation, however at present unless you are looking to do some heavyduty productivitybased workloads, we are still quite a few years away presumably from being able to see the full benefits of the expanded bandwidth over PCIe x 3.0Because of that, if you can get this CPU for under 400, I would definitely recommend doing so, at least for gaming and normal computer tasks.

Express pickup at the store was easy. As for the CPU I had no issues on first boot on new PC build. Running idle around 30C, around 45C under load with a Noctua aftermarket air cooler. Should last me 45 years easy for 1440P gamingmultitasking.

great for gaming. probably not as good for the price as a 10600k but if you get a good price for it its totaly worth it. i can tell from performence comming from a ryzen 5 3600. if you overclock i recomend seting it at 5.0 ghz for better thermals. this baby runs super hot.

As a longtime Windows user, I was notified that the new Windows 11 would soon replace Windows 10.After checking my homebuilt tower PC for compatibility, I discovered that I would require a newmotherboard with the TPM feature thats required to run Windows 11. Since I use my PC for business,I decided to upgrade it for compatibility with Windows 11.I visited my local Micro Center store to see what was available for a system upgrade. I describedmy current system and the salesman who was exceptionally knowledgeable. He gave me a list of components that included an MCI Z490A ProATX motherboard, a 10th generation Core I7 CPU and cooler, 16 GB of memory, and a 500 MB solidstate drive. I was able to use my existing case, graphic cards, monitors,and hard drives.Although I personally bought the parts and assembled my old PC, I had Micro Center rebuild and check out my new system, which was ready for pickup after a few days. Since Windows is now on the Solid State Drive, Windows boots and is ready to use within a few seconds. Looking back, Micro Centers knowledgeable staff was exceptionally helpful in understanding my system goals, choosing the right components, and saving me money by using existing parts SATA hard drives, case, graphic cards, etc. to rebuild my new, Windows 11compatible system. If your current Windows PC doesnt meet the Windows 11 specification, such as having a motherboard without the new TPM chip or an outdated CPU, go talk to the staff at Microcenter. They will definitely provide the information and assistance to provide you with a Windows 11compatible system at a reasonablecost. And they will test your system to make sure everything is working properly before you take it home.

What a great processor. I hadnt upgraded since 2014 and the speed differences are amazing. I have paired this with an MSI Z490 motherboard with an SSD and boot speeds are so fast. This particular processor is unlocked so using Intels overclocking software makes it easy to push the speeds power a little more.

Brilliant, with high FPS in games as well as great multi and single core performance.The one downside is that you can only get all the cores at the same speed, it states in the intel extreme tuning utility that 2 cores run at 5.1ghz some at 4.9 , 4.8 and 4.7 stock. However while trying to tinker with the bios and searching all over google. The processor cores wont boost up to different speeds. The lowest speed that you have on a core is the speed that one will go up to unless you overclock.

I went form a 7700K 4 cores 8 threads 4.2 Ghz to this beast. And let me tell you the increase in performance is outstanding. I saw about a 15 fps increase in Cyberpunk 2077, but more importantly my average fps went from 60ish to well over 80. The CPU usage also went from 99 to under 50

For 280 this processor is a great deal. Single core is a bit worse than AMDs 5600x but as compensation you get two extra cores. I have been able to test both, one for me and another for a friend, and basically if you do anything that would benefit from the extra cores, like steaming, than grab this part over the 5600x. Only issue I had with the 10700k was thermals, had to get a pretty beefy air cooler as it tends to run hot when fully loaded.

This is a nice chip to get for under 300 if it ever goes on sale again. I was originally trying to get a 5600x but they were just too hard to get. With an NHD15s it idles at about 30 C and gets up to 65 C in games room is about 24 C. YMMV depending on your case, your installation skill, and your local weather.

As a power user, I always find it beneficial to run both a mean productionworkstation rig and a gaming rig, if budget allows it. When I finally got my Certs. for Digital Media, I had both a Devils Canyon 4790K Z97 setup for gaming, and a BroadwellE X99 rig for workstation projects. The experience was excellent. Then enter the Ryzen line of products… and what I was doing on two systems, was now magically achievable in one.With their 3000 series, the gap closed even more on gaming, all while staying within range of its TDP. Intel then answers with the 10th gen, touting it as the gaming king, but thats where it ends. In many situations, the 10700k comparatively does worse in my use case. When comparing it to its 8 core rival, the 3700x or even the 3800x, the actual computational horsepower found in the Ryzen line begins to heavily outweigh the value of the 10700k. Sure, the Intel side of things comes with Z490 where overclocking the CPU and RAM to oblivion is possible, your frametimes and overall experience improves, but what does it cost youThe 14nm that Intel baked the 10th Gen with is solid, still competing despite it essentially being a 6700K from late 2015 with 510 IPC uplift, and a few extra cores plopped on. The CPU finds itself needing to be cooled by beefy heatsinks, and AIO liquid coolers. Anything less and youll the 10700k thermal throttling, making any clock speed gains virtually null. So now youve got a heat issue, but now lets talk about that 125w TDP… When youve got this thing running a stock settings, not edits to your bios, total system power consumption nearly doubles that of the 3800x. Youve got a beefy cooling setup, so you decide to tack on a slight overclock to say… 5ghz all core. That bump pushes you north of 245w for just your CPU for a 25 increase in your frames.When youve got a 10700k drawing more than 245w, and lets say youve got deep pockets so you also own a 2080 Ti… youre going to find yourself having to spend more on a stronger PSU. So with that in mind, lets bring this around full circle, and why this CPU is good, but isnt something Id personally recommend to a friend building a new rig. With Intels 10th Gen, youre paying for fundamentally the same architecture from 2015. Youre paying the K series CPU and Z chipset motherboard tax for overclocking, now add on the fact that you will more than likely need to drop another 70150 on a good cooler, when you are already looking at 450 for the CPU, 180250 for a motherboard… that to me sounds like a deal breaker for the average consumergamer.The TLDR here is Unless youre chasing 240hz at 1080p, I strongly suggest you save a few bucks going with a 3700x or a 3800x. You can drop it into a B450X470 motherboard, should the B550X570 boards be unavailable or too high in price for you. The include stock cooler is impressive, and does an excellent job at keeping the big Ryzen chips cool, and your PC quiet too. You could then put those savings into other places in your rig. To further prove my point when it comes to this generation from Intel being a bit of a mess… A recent review date, 91820 analysis of sales data shows that the 10th Gen isnt selling nearly as much as the Ryzen series of products.On the other side of the camp, youve got products like the Ryzen 3300X that have been nearly impossible to purchase because of their insane value. For 120 MSRP, that quad core was pulling some numbers a lot higher than most would expect. Add on the fact that its also got higher quality silicone binning, so now you can push a Ryzen chip to 4.6Ghz reliably… Its self explanatory.Why pay more, when youre not getting that much of a lead I ended up returning this CPU, heres hoping 11th Gen can bring something to the table for someone who does workstation and gaming workloads like I do. Id only really recommend this CPU if youre gaming, and even then Id skip the 10700k and stick it out with a 10600k.

AMD fanboys and shills will always find something negative to say. It seems to me they forgot the recent lawsuit for them as a company lie about core count. Dont get me wrong, AMD made a comeback but they will always be playing catchup since Intel is still leading the way. I use my computer for mainly work and some gaming. Intel was always my choice. AMD never enticed me and their performance number still lag. UPDATE82320 CPU still performs as advertised and the platform has matured some. All is well. I do not overclock but even at factory settings, this CPU handles my workloads very well at fast speeds. Also, be aware of the non verified owners. Those people just want to write hate messages to prove their true ego. Dont let that turn you away from this CPU.

Delivers incredible performance for everything Ive thrown at it so far I run it under 100 load almost 247, doing CPU encoding at up to 4K resolutions with HDR. When using a mixture between very slow and placebo encode settings, this CPU consistently maintains speeds of 4.34.4GHz across all cores, without temperatures exceeding 70158. The 10700k is certainly a powerful CPU. Specwise it is comparable to the i9 9900k from the previous generation, and in my experience was fairly easy to get a stable 5.0GHz overclock.The major downside is that it falls into a weird spot between the 10900k and 10600k.For most people the 10600k is probably more than enough for gaming, at a much lower price. And for people who really just want to go all out with a build, the 10900k is a much better choice.For me, I went with the 10700k because it fit just within my budget and I really wanted to maximize the frames I could get in games.

Highly recommended for gaming and editing, heavy AVX workloads and professional applications. This is Impressive seeing that my 6600k required 1.38v to get 4.6Ghz, 1.424v to get 4.7Ghz and 1.58v on an air cooler LOL to get even 4.9Ghz very dangerous above 1.55v unless you have LN2. You should be aware that this CPU, at least mine, is extremely sensitive with VCCSA for RAM stability and Uncore Overclocking, 100Mhz made the difference of being perfectly stable and not booting at all. Uncore past 4.5Ghz isnt really worth losing 300Mhz of Core speed. If you want a great CPU for pretty much everything this is one of the best right now, even if you dont want to overclock.

Upgraded from 10600k. The 10700k is a beast at overclocking and does not run hot like everyone has stated. I have 5.0ghz all core with no avx. The chip is butter smooth and running on 1.23v is a silicone lottery in my opinion. I think this is the best price to performance right now in 2021. This 10th gen 8 core 16 thread processor is powerful, you will need to invest in a good cooler for this. My machine can handle anything and does not slow down at all with this processor due to the core count and speed. I mainly game and multitask and this powerful CPU makes it an enjoyable experience. The downside is it uses a lot of electricity and puts off heat in intense tasks like gaming, but that will depend on your cooling solution and load.

Nice to read that some can hit an OC over 5.0Ghz using less that 1.3v. Unfortunately that is not always to be expected. Id guess its about a 5050 chance… and got a meh draw with my 10700k. Some owners are happy to just to get past 4.7 I can get 5.0 all cores stable, but Im not comfortable pushing 1.3v or more under load a 1.37v manual setting and having temps in the upper 70s to upper 80s for my RL usage prime95 goes into the mid90s. Im using a Noctua NHD15S, which cools as good as mid to upper grade AIOs. Even if I had the temps under better control, 1.3v or more under load still is concerning. But hey, the 10700k I got still rocks for what I use it for, and at a 4.9 all cores OC it runs just fine, which Ill expect it to do the next several years without any degradation just like my nearly golden 4770k did. I rate 5 eggs for my listed pro OC performance is 100 gratis and 100 luck of the draw, thus not worthy of docking or raising a cpus rating. Running Win10 Pro on an Asus ROG Maximus Hero XII with g.skill 2x16GB 3600 15151532 2T, a Thermaltake Tough Power 850W PSU and a 4 years old evga gtx 1070 that still works great driving a 2560×1440 60htz IPS panel.

This was a day one purchase for me and it seems clear Ive either lost the silicon lottery, or a lot of people are fudging numbersnot being very stringent with stress testing. Running this on a 240mm custom loop, Ive hit a voltage wall at around 1.44v x50 to be stable in Prime95 AVX. Vcore reads 1.314 at that load with LLC4, so Im ok with the worryingly high BIOS input. Now there is a lot of controversy around whether P95 AVX is a valid stress test, as it is an incredibly unrealistic workload. My opinion on this is that the point of a stress test is to simulate unrealistic workloads at the far end of sanity, to ensure that your daily driver is rock stable. I can get nice low voltage overclocks if I avoid the nasty AVX loads, but that doesnt really seem fair. I think 5.1 is achievable, but requires a better bin and better cooling than I have to stay below 1.45v. Theres also a question of memory speeds, as my memory is quite heavily overclocked as well rated at 4400MHz CAS 19. Downclocking the memory might give me more headroom, but without more experimenting I suspect the performance dip in overall workloads might not be worth 100MHz of clock speed. If youre going to get into the nitty gritty of tweaking your CPU, I recommend moving up to the 10900k for the better binning. General results suggest the binning is much tighter for that SKU, so youll have less of a silicon lottery problem. Ill probably do this myself after I finish this build in a few months. The egg I took off is pretty much exclusively for loose binning at this SKU. Relevant hardware ASUS Z490i Patriot Viper 2x8GB 4400MHz EKWB 240 PE, with about 500ml in the loop altogether, with 2x Noctua NFF12 static pressure fans Ncase M1 You will likely get better results with more space to move air, and more radiator space Ill come back and edit this review in a few months if I have a different opinion once my new GPU and slim radiator arrive, and the build is complete.

I picked the 10700kf for 264 and what a great performer for the price. I switched from a ryzen 5 3600 because of stability issues. With AMD I have always had weird unexplained things happen with my computers. As expected, with the intel I have had no issues and this thing smokes my ryzen 5 system. Basically overkill for a cpu. I purchased this cpu, and ever day I use it I think, this is basically too much. An i9 would be crazy. It would have been better to get an i5. Most home users will not be able to use its power even at stock speeds. Operates at 37C at idle and 70C, on an air cooler. Can easily be overclocked , on an after market air cooler, and tops out at about 82C under a stress test.

The i710700k is a pretty good CPU if you can get it for like 280 or cheaper. When this launched for like 380 it wasnt really a good deal because you can just get 3700x which was better and used way less power. Ok so default it uses like 80100 watts but when you unlock it, its like 150 watts. The 3700x was only 100watts under full load and it performed better. But now its only 270 on Micro Center so the value is insane. I highly recommend it if you can get it. It has integrated graphics so you cant use that until you can get ahold of a GPU so thats also a plus.

With the release of the 11th Gen Intel processors this review might seem irrelevant, however, reviews of the latest chips have been anemic making the 10th Gen 8 core i7 a terrific value. It is extremely stable, gives you plenty of headroom for overclocking, and when mildly overclocked, equals the current enthusiasts favorite Ryzen 5 5600x in typical profiles, making it a compelling value at current prices.

I think this is a really fantastic processor for so many functions. I made a PC for a friend for GIS purposes, and it worked a charm compared to even the 8th generation in terms of its capabilities to do CAD drawings, data dense processes, those sorts of actions.I think it would work pretty well with gaming too, I havent put it through too many of its paces there, but it handles textures well and high frames per second on a good monitor.

And, I agree. I wasnt planning to use the 10700k…until i saw the price at microcenter. After discounts and bundling with a new board, this became a very compelling option at 329.I have not overclocked yet i am waiting for new gpu first. So far my performance matches expectations based on stock performance tests from reviewers GN.

While Im not the type to upgrade my computer at every opportunity, so I have little to compare against, I built a system with the i78700 that should be able to cope with the current suite of CAD software for small business owners 16gb DDR4 RAM, 6gb GTX1060 video card and a 1tb SSD. The processor is definitely quick and up to the challenge, but using the diagnostic software that came with it and the motherboard, I saw it getting up to temperatures of 90 degrees celsius when pushed to its limit. The standard fan that comes with it would therefore seem a little inadequate, which really is unacceptable. In the end, if youre upgrading, then what better option to upgrade than the latest Intel chip, right So in my opinion the i78700 definitely packs a punch, works well and is fast, but when all 6 cores are being pushed to their limit it gets incredibly hot something which needs to be managed. For ordinary and intermediate use though, its definitely more than capable

I was finally able to snag one for Microcenter price, so I swung by my local Best Buy and picked this up ASAP. Threw it into my motherboard and its been smooth sailing ever since. Stock frequency at 3.8GHz and it has no problem boosting up to 4.7 GHz.Stays nice and cool while I play games, I cant complain honestly. Definitely worth its value as games and applications will no doubt be needing more cores to function properly in the future.

The last two were Intel builds, my previous being an i7 4790. Yeah, seven years ago. I had some money, and a wife who agreed the upgrade was necessary, and off we went. So good to meet the UPS man at the door, or in the front yard for several days in a row. Neighbors were jealous. It was just as much as a blink of yer eyes worth of effort to install this CPU. It really felt weighty and substantial in the figglers. The build went off without a hitch, and shes running now. Before, the Bluestacks launch would take about 30 seconds to load. Now Its done in about 5.8 seconds Thats fast I see the differences in speed on several fronts, and its very nice to command. Thank you, Intel, for another winner in the CPU dept.

First off, Im upgrading from a I74770K 4.4GHz OCed. The 4770K I have is 7 years old. That CPU is a true beast, but I felt like it was time to get a new MBCPURAM due to age. So, that said, I see a huge difference in desktop work and games. I mainly game. I dont understand why everyone says these CPUs run hot. Im running stable at 5.2 on an AIO and this CPU doesnt even break 40c70c in some benchmarks or games. It runs way cooler than my 88w 4770K. I am using an Asus MB. If you are coming from a way older generation Intel or AMD, this CPU will not disappoint

I purchased the 10700K when it was at 349, and this is probably the bestvalued CPU for that price. It is cheaper than the Ryzen 3900X and has better singlethreaded performance while destroying the 3700X, which is around 50 less than this CPU in both multi and singlecore tasks. Overall, games run smoother than it ever did before and for comparison, I upgraded from a 5820k to this 10700k.

Great product, fast responsible, money well spent, I paired this beauty with a MSI MPG Z490 GAMING motherboard and they work flawlessly together. Mi former system had a 8th generation processor and even though it was nice, if compared to this one you can tell the difference, specially when pushed to the limit playing last generation games, which are more demanding on PC resources . Stop looking for a cheaper budget option, this one will last some time before you need to upgrade. Best Buy delivery, nice as usual, arrived undamaged and before expected.

One of the best gaming CPUs out there currently, and very competitive at workloads too. Better at overclocking than the 10700k due to not having onboard graphics. Got mine to 5.3GHz all cores easily. Runs a little hot 86 under full load at those speeds even on water. But damn, good CPU that pushes some mad performance. Would recommend if you have the money. Otherwise just get a 10600k for similar gaming performance.

Ive checked it out and the build quality is on point, cant go wrong with old reliable. Used Intel in the past and expect nothing but pure amazing. Hopefully I get an cream of the crop silicon chip. I think I may have purchased this on my Dads account, not sure if my review will be verified or not. Either way, Im coming from a Ryzen 5 3600 that was a great little performer for the cost, but just gave me problem, after problem, after problem. Also, no fun overclocking. Also ran pretty hot.This cpu has been smoooth sailing. And having tons of fun overclocking it. Ive had it for 3 weeks now and have barely even played games, just pushing it to the limit having fun overclocking. Runs cooler than my 3600 did, even at 5.3 ghz all core. Not even kidding. 3600 did Prime 95 at 98C, this does it at 90C at 5.3Ghz, 86C at 5.0 ghz. Small FFT AVX2 load. Ive never even had a BSOD or failure to boot while overclocking yet. The worst that has happened is some errors in Prime 95. Try that on a Zen 2 or 3 cpu Those things wont even boot if you barely tweak them at all.CPUZ Single core score at 5.3 ghz hyperthreading off is 643, 5600XT territory, while I also happily mop the floor with the multicore score of the 3800XT on Cinebench R23. So the 5600X cant really approach me Which is nice, considering I only even paid 320 for it, right here from Best Buy. But the number one thing I would say is it is amazingly stable, and runs very cool, and very fast.

Update I was able to get a stable OC at 5.1 GHz on all cores at 1.360 V, but I didnt want to run a voltage higher than 1.35 V 247 so I dropped it down to 5.0 GHz all cores at 1.315 V which Ive had stable for a couple weeks now with no issue. Whenever I had the ring ratio above 44, my system would be unstable and lock up at random times. I think that was the main reason I couldnt get above a stable 4.9 GHz overclock before. Since dropping the ring ratio down to 44, I have had no issues with my core overclock. OLD Purchased for a new build to upgrade my almost 9 year old PC, which had the i72600K. Good OC potential depending on bin quality of the chip. I have had trouble getting a stable OC above 4.9 GHz on all cores, so I might just be a loser on the silicon lottery. Im able to get temps to stay just below 80 C room temp 24 C during stress testing. Using Be Quiet Dark rock 4 air cooler.

This is my first Intel cpu since the i74770k many years ago. Ive been on AMDZen since they released those.I moved away from AMD for a few reasonsAGESA updatesway too many, and issues after updatingMemory SpeedMemory is a bit flaky on AMD. It had gotten better, but still slower than Intel.Just wanted something newI moved from a X5703700X to the i710700k. I think both chips have their pros and cons. I had just moved to X570 and the board I purchased just wasnt right. I worked with Gigabyte to try and get it right, but in the end, decided to send it back to BH. I sold my other AMD parts and jumped ship.Ive been impressed with my sample. Im able to run 4.9 all core with 1.2v set in the bios, with 1.2 VCCSA and 1.1VCCIO. Im running a 32gb set of GSkill 3600 Neo. I plugged them in….enabled XMP and was off to the races. Ram voltage is 1.32 at stock.These setting have passed numerous runs of LinpackExtreme64, OCCT, TM5Memory, RealBench, basically anything Ive thrown at it. Ive had a few crashes, but each and every time those were do to something that I changed or did. Otherwise, this has been a great experience.Very happy

I upgraded from a 6700k which I could only overclock stably to 4.5 GHz. Im getting an allcore 5.1 GHz overclock on my 10700k. It is very smooth and stable. Chrome and other background tasks run smooth. Im getting a large uplift in single core performance as well as multi core in cinebench, Stockfish nodes per second, Geekbench, games, etc. z490 is a decent platform. I would recommend liquid cooling on this beast however. I use an AIO and I get pretty good temps in my 011 dynamic xl case 33,degrees idle, 65 degrees under load… air cooling probably isnt the way to go here.

I was having hard time deciding between AMD and Intel but Intel won me over with their overall stability and compatibility. The 10700k is fast even stock out of the box with a 3.8ghz base and a 5.1 ghz boost. Yes there are better valued cpus but If you value higher core clocks and better single core performance this is the CPU for you highly recommend it.

I bought this on the Black Friday sale after I returned the i510600K. While the i5 wasnt a bad CPU, the tech reviewers I was watching had highly recommended going with an 8 core16 thread chip instead of a 6 core12 thread if their audience wanted better performance over 36 years, depending on what type of tasks are performed by the computer. I built mine for PC gaming and I have noticed everything has been running a bit snappier. I cant say that I notice any FPS differences really, but programs open a bit quicker and my CPU usage is a bit lower than it was with the i5.Likes Easy installation Great performance overclocking better performance than last years i9 CPUDislikes I cant think of any, its greatOh, by the way This CPU does NOT come packaged with a CPU cooler, so you will need to plan to purchase that separately. I knew this going into it, but some may not. Also, make sure you get a good CPU paste for cooling and just apply a little bead size over the CPU.

I was personally trying to get a 10900k but that was sold out forever and only available through 3rd party sellers at an outrageous markup. Picked up 10700k instead and Im still very happy since it was still a huge improvement for me coming from the 4790k. going from 4 core 8 threads to 8 core 16 threads was a was improvement.

The i710700K is Intels latest Core i7 offering, filling that niche in the new 10th gen Comet Lake series of desktop processors. It performs exceptionally well in gaming, which favors singlethreaded performance and high frequency, both of which the 10700K offers in spades, while lagging behind AMDs 3900X and 3950X in productivity workloads due to those chips having 50 and 100 more cores threads, respectively. Intel seems to have solved the glaring thermal issues that plagued the 8th and 9th gen CPUs by thinning out the IHS material, so the dies have closer contact with the cold plate on the cooling solution. On its own, the 10700K is a 5star chip, but in the broader context of the other 10thgen Intel processors, it loses a star because its position amidst the rest of the 10th gen lineup essentially serves no purpose, as Ill discuss.Why do I say this Well, the i510600K can easily be OCed to exceed the stock frequencies that the 10700K brings to the table. This means you can get essentially equal gaming performance compared to a stock 10700K, from a chip that costs half as much, because the reduction in core count has basically zero impact on FPS. Im not saying the 10700K clock speeds cant be tuned up as well, but Im stressing that its intended place in the gaming performance hierarchy can be usurped by a chip that retails for less than 250 bucks. The 10600K is also a more OCable CPU in its own right, and can be pushed harder relative to its base specs than the 10700K can relative to its own stock speeds.On the other side of the equation, the i910900K represents peak Comet Lake, offering the best performance for any type of workload that 10th gen has to offer, while only retailing for 100 more than the 10700K. The 10900K is the undisputed performance king of this generation, beating the 10700K soundly both in terms of gaming both singlecore and allcore turbo are significantly faster and productivity aforementioned frequency advantage an additional 2 cores 4 threads to play with.Does my criticism become slightly clearer in light of the role that the 10600K and the 10900K play The 10700k is either a slightly better 10600K that costs 100 more, or a much worse 10900K that costs only 100 less. The 10700K doesnt know what it wants to be, and the rest of 10th gen definitely does, which is why this chip is not the best purchase in the context of its generation.

I spent over 400 for an upgrade on 5 month old gaming computer and when geek squad gets done with it, I get back a broken gaming computer. I am very disappointed and upset. I brought my sons computer into the villages Geek Squad at Best Buy to have the processor upgraded. When purchasing the first processor, which was an i7 10th gen processor bought in store, i was advised that they needed to check with a tech to make sure the motherboard would support it. They came back and advised me that the mother board would support it. I Dropped the computer off on scheduled date and was told when I picked it up that now the motherboard would not support the processor and I needed a i7 9th gen. When advising them of what I was told the day before, the just said that was incorrect and they didnt know who said it. Ok, no biggie, ordered a new one and scheduled another date to drop the computer off. After leaving it for a day, I go to pick it up and see the lady had a part of the computer separate. I was then advised that the computer had a yellow screen when they turned it on, after the new processor placed. and that the graphics card is bad and needs to be replaced. I am furious. My son was on that computer until the day it was dropped off and it was working fine. Now I pick it up after wanting just the i3 processor upgraded to an i7 processor, for the reason of my son wanting to play games that an i3 processor did not support and caused the computer to freeze. I was told that they could not prove the computer worked before I got there and there was nothing they could do but sell me a new graphics card approx.300 Why would I bring a broken computer in to have an upgrade If the graphics card was bad and screen was yellow, I would have brought it in for that. I do plan to contact corporate about this situation.

I was initially looking at the Ryzen Gen 3 chipsets. With the market demand for those chips, going with Intel meant better value for money. It was also a good choice in this market because it at least has a builtin video processor, and again, citing the current market, I wasnt sure when I might be able to get my hands on a new GPU. At least this chip would tide me over for playing games that would not be too demanding.After I committed to this chip, I realize that it would be a lightly better choice for dualbooting Linux or using WSL2 Linux on Windows, since it seems that the Linux kernel is often developed around Intel chips, first. I can be disabused of that notion, but I feel confident that I wont have issues running Linux on this chip.This chip was also good, because at least one more generation will use the same LGA 1200 socket. That means that I have the option of upgrading to another Intel chip without having to buy another motherboard. However, who knows what the market will look like when I am ready to upgrade.This chip can also be overclocked, and that means more performance options, as well.The downside for this chip is really the socket. One more generation upgrade, true, but AMD has the right of it in developing their chips with the same socket gen after gen. It means that the motherboard with AMD sockets will have a longer life if the user doesnt want to be forced to upgrade.

Runs well but runs hotter than my i5 8600k. Havent tried OCing beyond default turbo but seems online that the performance can go as far as your cooling fan handle. A pain finding a CPU cooler that works nicely with my mobo but thats no issue of Intels. VRM cooler on mobo not a must but probably very helpful if youre running higher clock speeds since the area around the CPU can get quite hot as well.

I got this because I got the new series boards. I am disappointed in intel again. If you are coming from 9600k dont upgrade yet. My 9600k was OCd at 5.0 and I was able to OC this one to 5.1 oh wow a whole .1ghz. Do I notice anything you might ask absolutely not….

Lets face it the 14nm CPU has had its day, but this was too good a deal to ignore. Still a great gaming platform with noticeable gains over the i6700K I was running. Rock stable 5.1. This CPU is pretty much at the top for going, especially when overclocked, get a good H2O cool though as it generates a bit of heat.

My first 10th Gen This is a good quality CPU for under 300 bucks. I have owned Sever Computers in my lifetime back to 8088 days. without going to a 10 core I9 CPU I went with this. I like the low wattage and still running 8 cores 16 Threads. I havent had a lag time and I noticed smother operations in my games and streaming, I connected this to a ASUS ROG STRIX Z490 E Gamer. Both work great together. 64gig Ram and Samsung 790 M.2 card 512g and a reused RTX2080 Super. I like this one much better

Hes thrilled and cant believe the performance boost. Fortunately it was on sale thanks Micro Center or it would have been much more painful for me, but Im thrilled to see him so happy. Each installation, no problems at all.

This processor has handled everything gamingwise Ive thrown at it with ease, and for work Ive had a dozen simultaneous programs running that tax my coworkers older machines, but I have yet to experience any noticeable slowdown at allFully recommend.

I was building my custom pc and I was having a hard time deciding between the i511600K and the i710700K. I ultimately chose the i7 because it has more cores and would be better for what I need it for.With it, I built a really solid and powerful system that is able to quickly edit videos and graphics. It boots up fast and is the most powerful computer Ive had to date.The CPU works like a charm and I am happy with my choice. I also liked the fact that I was able to pick it up locally, without having to wait for it to be shipped.The only thing I dont like is what I had to pay to get it. It was significantly higher in price than the i5 despite having comparable specs and being an older CPU. I think its possible to find it cheaper elsewhere, but I needed it right away so I basically had to pay for the convenience… not ideal but it is what it is. Its hard to get CPUs during a chip shortage after all.

I upgraded from a i5 6600K and wanted something a bit better at gaming since sometimes it would freeze and stutter at times but I paired this with a z490 E gaming strix board and I love it I get none of that now. I was gonna wait until the new Ryzen 4000 desktops came out but didnt. But you need to change voltage on motherboard since motherboards have voltage which is ridiculously high in which is why they get hot, mine showed boosted frequency at 1.61.7 as in many other reviewers that do it for a living have said similarsame thing but running. But 5.0 GHZ at 1.3560V all core no problem I didnt go further since I didnt need to but happy with it. otherwise recommended for just a only gamer or someone who can spend a few extra cash for gaming

I found the i710700K a very good deal for the feature set.I wanted a multicore processor for being able to run many programs concurrently without performance drops.With no overclocking, the 10700K has been performing better than I was hoping with multiple large programs running and no throttling.Im using a single tower air cooler, and my CPU temps have not been above 75C.As a first time PC builder I had no trouble installing the CPU.

So I am coming from a 9700K Z390i Strix to a 10700K Z490i Aorus Ultra and of course I will see little to no improvements in gaming, the only thing I will gain is 8 threads. I only upgraded because a friend was interested in buying my previous parts. Significant things I did see, the Z490 series of motherboards have improved components than last Z390 so they will have no problems with these chips. With that means a cooler running board on top of the CPU running cooler than 9900K. On top of that improved IMC for memory overclocking speed and latency, you technically dont need to upgrade if youre from 9th gen but it runs much cooler so its more so quality of life improvements. 10900K 10700K 2cores4threads 10700K 9900K9900KS 10600K 8700K8086K The 10700K sits at a good segment since it is an improved 9900K but doesnt get as hot as the 10900K which IMO is the new 9900K in terms of temps. Intel vs. AMD just go with what makes you happy

Originally wanted to go with a 5600x but due to availability at the time, was unable to do so and I ended up getting this one. I was also able to get it much lower than the MSRP and while its worth the price, Id recommend not paying more than 320 for this.In terms of performance, I ve been able to max out every game I throw at it at 1440p 144htz with Ray tracing on. Definitely worth picking up.

What inspired me to purchasing this CPU was from the Intel Virtual Fair that I attended online. 8 cores and 16 threads is plenty for what I needed to do. Under a liquid cooling setting, My temperatures was fairly cool and no throttling was noticed. My only con is you need to move up to the new 490 series chip set. Primarily Z490 since K SKUs from Intel means it can be overclocked. This is NOT backward compatible with any 390 series motherboards.I am running this CPU at factory settings since there is no need for me to overclock as this chip is pretty much tuned out of the box from the factory and I am overall very satisfied with the performance I am getting. AMD was not for me and I had the budget to move up to Intel. No fanboysim here.

Runs great at stock speeds, and idles at 27c.You arent buying a K variant to not overclock it though, mine easily gets to 5.0ghz all core. But, becomes unstable at 5.1. Gets a bit hot at 100 load, but not too terrible.Microcenter has the best prices when it comes to CPUs.
