The imilab ec3 camera is their international version that is meant to be capable of running off European servers as mentioned in their description. Let me summarize the review based on the pros and cons. Pros : 1. The main Pro is free 7 day cloud storage, though the image quality on the cloud is notably poorer than the video stored on the sd card. 2. I am using a 128gb sd card without issues so long as the card is formatted in Fat32 format. This setup offers 14 days of continuous footage stored. 3. Acceptable image quality for like cameras with full colour night vision which really helps in identifying things like clothes colours etc. Cons: 1. The main drawback which imilab haven’t specified is the omission of the “selectable monitoring areas” from the non Chinese servers. This is a key feature to avoid the camera going off for “everything” moving on the road rather than a selected area that you want to monitor! I even contacted imilab support via email who responded that they have no intention to include this feature for non Chinese locations! If you use the mi home app to connect via Chinese servers then only this feature works but at the expense of poor image streaming! I can’t understand how difficult it can be to import this feature to the European servers too as they have already done the software development for the same on the Chinese locations! 2. There is no way of downloading a clip stored on the sd card to your computer. The software should have allowed this as it is inconvenient to physically take the sd card out of the camera in order to use footage captured. If imilab overcome the two drawbacks that I mentioned above then this product will be one of the best cameras on the market. However the response from their customer service unfortunately did not leave me with any confidence that they are willing to eliminate these drawbacks! 2 people found this helpful
