I bought this mic before its initial launch since Best Buy put it out early… The QuadCast was a bit too high in price for me and so sprung for this considering the hype surrounding the QuadCast.What can I say, this is absolutely the best bang for the buck I have found for an entry level mic.It looks clean, sounds great and I love the tap to mute feature that HyperX carried over from their QuadCast mic. I was torn between this and the Razer Seiren Mini and went with HyperX as the Mini appears to be of pretty poor build quality and doesnt sound as good to me plus there is no mute button on it which I personally think is a must have. So, for 10 more I got a way better mic IMO.The stand is cool in that I can angle the mic in numerous different ways but I will probably end up buying a cheap mic arm to mount it on as it is threaded for 38 58 mic arms.

People I am talking to have only said good things about how clear the mic sounds so no issues there. I would just recommend getting an arm to hold the mic up instead of putting on the table as even small bumps will sound very loud.

This microphone works perfectly during my zoom meetings. I like that it easily connects to my laptop with a usb cord. I can use the microphone right away when I have it plugged in, no extra appssoftware is needed to operate the microphone. When I use this microphone during my zoom meetings, I can easily tap the mute button on top. The status light is either steady red or blinking red which lets you know if the microphone is muted or not. Also the microphone can tilt and be adjusted, plus the stand is very secure. After my last zoom meeting, others gave me so much positive feedback regarding the sound quality. Crispclean sound, no interference coming from this microphone. So much easier to use this microphone, plus much better sound vs the one built into my laptop. I highly recommend this microphone.

It does pic up keyboard sounds decently but I think that is more of a position and an all mic problem which I solve using NVIDIAs Broadcasting program to filter out the keyboard.

I like the plug n play whereas I can just plug it into my pc or laptop and get right into using it. I think the sound quality is great and I dont find there is any background noise associated with it because everyone says that hear me clearly. I think the price point for this microphone is spot on.

Got this for my girlfriend so that we can chat better due to the pandemic, honestly, this is a wonderful little mic that has the same quality of sound as my Blue Yeti. Be warned, there arent any switches to change the input or volume dial on this mic, this isnt an issue for our us since shes only using it to talk. If you want it for communication and recording voice then its the way to go if youre on a budget.

This is a great mic for the price. I picked it up because I wanted something a little better looking than my Rode VMP for Zoom Meet calls. I know I could have left the mic out of frame, but I like having it slightly in frame, and the audio quality is quite a bit better when you get the mic at the right distance. I do recommend a shock mount and pop filter for this mic as I do for all mics since it will amplify any handling noise. Run it through OBS for some noise suppression and a bit of a limiter, and youre golden.

Only downside for me was the background noise pick up as it picks up key chatter and mouse clicks, which is expected as it does not have any customizable software settings. This microphone was extremely good, but to the point where its too good. It catches everything and is extremely clear, but if you have a boom arm you have to be careful, cause almost every movement or small noise is apparent. I added a pop filter recently so that fixed most of the extra noise. All in all the microphone was really good and I definitely would recommend to others. The quality was great, its metal and the included tripod is also very good quality. Once again the sound quality is phenomenal and the microphone is extremely good, but you will probably need a pop filter if you intend to keep the microphone on for recordings, podcasts, or streaming. If you got it for zoom and intend to unmute for a short period of time then you probably wont need a pop filter.

I use it for Zoom and streaming and I have no complaints. I had to buy a 6 foot USB extender to connect it from the console to the couch but otherwise the cable is plenty long if the mic is just sitting on your desk. You might also elevate it with books or a tin box so that the mic is closer to your mouth.

The HyperX is a robust microphone with sensitive input however it is not sensitive enough to be loud enough to hear. It had to be placed about an inch from my mouth and then it performed well. Best to look around or pay more for a better mic.

I was debating between the razer seiren mini, seiren X, blue yeti nano, and this. My friends happen to own each one of these except the hyperx solocast, so I bought it to compare this with the other mics. Superficially, they all sound pretty much the same, but on closer analysis, both the razers sound like youre speaking through a tin can. Its a subtle difference, but its there. The blue yeti nano and the hyperx solocast have very similar sounds and build quality, and they both have a mute button. I like the black color for the solocast, and the fact that it is slightly cheaper than the blue yeti nano, so I decided to go with the solecast. After a few weeks of use, Im in love with this tiny little microphone. It has really good build quality, and for people looking for a casual microphone for team meetingstalking with friendsgaming, this is perfect.

overall for the price it was a pretty good microphone with great quality, although I was looking for more, it will provide exactly what people need if you just want a mic to use. it is as easy as plugging it in and just using it. I got told the quality was nice, but I sounded like there was a bit of an echo so it could have been my room.

All the good things everyone says is true, i got around the sensitivity my keyboard and desk make by using a shock mount and a pop filter. I set the volume to 25 on Windows and i get the perfect amount of volume with out getting too much background keyboard sound.For gaming i adjusted the threshold in game and no sound can be heard but my voice. For the shock mount i got a 4852mm on amazon, and the Eggsnow Adjustable Desktop Microphone Holder for the final look you see in my picture. The pop filter was some generic cheap one, and i cut out the top for the touch mute.FIRMWARE UPDATE RED ON, NO LED MUTE

This product feels solid and well manufactured, definitely feels quality. I like the way you can tilt it over on its stand to sit under a monitor. I have speakers behind and the microphone does not pick up that ambient noise, only seems to pick up my voice, which is perfect. I also like the sensor on the mic to easily turn mute onoff as well as the visual indication of mute status.

Just what I needed because I use wireless earbuds for sound and this for a mic when buddies are playing. Not a fan of gaming headsets because they make my ears hurt or sweat plus the weight. This is great with Discord. Had to set the input to sound on the earbuds and output mic to this and adjusted the sensitivity for what worked for me and for friends not hearing my membrane kb. Im not sure if it will pickup on a clacky mechanical kb. Mute makes the light flash red, just tap the top. I dont need a pop filter. Really great sturdy build quality. Turn it around and tighten the knob. Like ppl said it slides a bit so just put something under it perhaps. I set it behind my monitor when not in use.

The HyperX Solocast really exceeded my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the sound quality is. It comes with a nice short stand which I prefer over the larger ones. Easy to connect and use. Overall a good solid gaming microphone. I like the smaller size of the microphone its small enough to fit on my desk.

This microphone has great sound quality, comparable to the QuadCast which is around 23x the price. The mute button on the top is hugely helpful, but the stand is a bit flimsy and I just wish there were physical buttons for controlling the gain and volume. I use this as a mic when gaming. It has a small footprint so it fits easily under my monitor if I turn it horizontal. It can be adjusted very easily and makes for a very versatile and portable mic. The tap to mute feature is my favorite part of this mic. They recently released software to address the blinking light when muted which was my only gripe. You can now have the light turned on when the mic is activated and off when it is muted.

My daughter is very happy with this purchase. The sound quality is amazing and a huge upgrade from her previous headset according to her friends. Theres a mute touch button at the top of the microphone with a blinking red light as an indicator that the mic has been muted. Its a USBC connection. The price is reasonable for a quality sound like this. As great as it is to include a stand, the only downside is that the stand is very short but that can be resolved with a new stand.You just plug it in and its ready to be used. No downloads required for set up.

I purchased this as a replacement for a Blue Snowball that died on me after 4 good years of daily use and abuse. Physically, the Solocast feels solidly built, and the tap to mute button on the top is pretty intuitive. This mic is good for the price, but dont expect it to be the endall of USB mics.The Solocast is very midheavy lows and highs have noticeable compression to them. This isnt inherently bad, but it can cause the Solocast to sound flat. Its very apparent in voice calls where bitrate is on the lower side of good Discord, Teamspeak, Zoom, etc. I strongly suggest buying a shock mount and pop filter as well as this mic loves to pick up plosives.The Snowball, while having a lower frequency range, almost sounded better tonally in my opinion. It picked up more lowend and gave an almost announcer or podcast feel.I ended up returning this mic and purchasing its bigger brother the HyperX Quadcast. The price jump for the Quadcast is definitely worth it, but if you only have 60 to spend, the Solocast should suffice. However, I highly recommend looking at the Snowball for comparison before purchasing. You cant really go wrong with either for 60, but what kind of sound you want will determine which you should get.

So as much as this one pains me, Im not 100 satisfied with this microphone. The quality of the sound is good. The setup is extremely easy. And Hyper X makes a great build quality. Now the reason why I didnt give it 5 stars. If your PC sits on the desk that the mic will be on, it will add a hum to the voice and sound. Ive tried many things to correct this as I love Hyper X but nothing works other then buying a shock mount. The more expensive Quad cast comes with a shock mount out of the box. If your have the right setup this microphone would be great. For a smaller desk setup it has a few down falls.

I bought this mic expecting a lower end microphone, but the quality is really good. A little too good to be honest. It picks up the smallest of background noise. Having some external software like RTC voice with their noise suppression, has this mics recording sounding like a 500 mic.

Really like this HyperX mic. It sounds really good for being pretty basic and simple to use. I primarily use the mic for virtual meetings, but have recorded videos. The mute button is silent, just a tap on touch pad and the mute confirmation is the blinking light.

This is a great mic. Sound is much better than I expected for the price paid It comes with a basic stand and a usbc cable which I would expect at this price point. The sound quality is great for entry streaming. It also has a mute button on the top, which is handy. The cons that I have are occasional breaks in pickup which I havent determined to be solely the mics fault, usbc cable length, and weight. I feel the cable could be slightly longer, but I also dont have a normal desk setup. I combined this mic with a Rode PSA1 while it fits you do need to pick up a shock mount for added weight. Even with that the Rode wants to shoot back up. For now mine stays put, but if they added weights or some how added more weight to the mic it would make it a much better contender in the entry mic market. Especially for streamers looking for a great product at competitive prices.

I was looking for a gaming mic that wasnt too expensive, this product is absolutely amazing, the audio quality is extremely good, connecting it to the computer is really simple just plug into USBC and the same goes for the mic itself. Surprisingly, it was a heavier mic to considering the size of the capsule which is good and the stand is pretty sturdy despite the heavier mic. Overall, fantastic product.

Its a good quality microphone, just figure out how far away you need to be for it to sound really good. I suggest using software that can help with the background noise such as Krisp. Otherwise if you dont you will pick up a lot of keyboard and clicking sounds. Other wise pretty good plug and your good to go, just need to change your input settings to it. Only things I could suggest to get with this microphone is a pop filter if you dont want your recording to be filled with background noises and a boom stickstand I think thats what its called. Sometimes when I record it is really loud and has static at first however I think its just the software I use. Had no issues with other software, only thing I could really say is bad about this microphone is the background noise which can easily be fixed. Other than that good microphone.

Great First microphone for streaming. Bought it for my sons first stream on Twitch. Mic was easy to set up in the stream software. It mounts to a desk mount arm which was nice. Alright so this is my first external mic that Im using since Ive been always using mics that were included in headsets, Ive been told from people that I sound really clear, and it actually sounds lot like myself instead of being all distorted or what not. Really simple to use, plug n play really plug in and device would show up on system and you select and proceed as normal.Only issues I really have is even though the device includes a built in pop filter It picks up a lot of background noise which friends find annoying especially playing on pc, although Ive tried nvidia broadcast it makes it better but blocks out a lot.
