As a casual user I needed a mic for audio classes and this mic has been amazing. Clear sound quality and easy to use. Having the gain, and mute buttons has been awesome for streaming purposes. The RGB light system is also incredibly easy to use.

After going months presenting in front of large groups with my normal video conferencing setup, I used this instead off camera in one meeting and got more than a dozen comments about great my audio sounded. I bought this mic mostly for my sons videogame streaming setup as the red glow is really cool looking but am finding myself using it a ton as well. Seamless and easy to set up, and looks great. Highly recommended.

For a USB mic, this might be one of the best sounding ones.A little more expensive than the BLUE Yeti, but has better mounting options than the Yeti or snowball because of its builtin shock mount.A Pop filter is not 100 necessary as it has its own builtin one that should be able to cover your plosives.Multiple modes can cover whatever you want to do with your microphone. Podcast, Solo Streaming, Group Streaming, Youtube Videos, ASMR Videos.Best when paired with Hyperx headphones because of the common issue of being able to manage the mic volume via the wheel at the bottom, but not the audio coming from the microphone when you plug headphones into the back. The mute button is also extremely convenient, probably one of the easiest microphones to mute, in my opinion. Just tap and the LED turns off and you no longer have to worry about sensitive information leaking into the mic.If you arent a huge sound nerd, this might is great, If you are a sound nerd however, it will be a great microphone to get before you hop into the world of XLR.

I sold my Blue Yeti and bought the HyperX Quadcast mic partly because id heard great reviews about it from streamers, but ill admit…the looks too It is stunning in the black and red, and the light up red mic is a great idea, i know when its on or off and again, looks stunning in a darkened room. As always Scan were brilliant, in fact they were the only ones to have this mic in when everywhere has been sold out. They are like gold dust Great service, delivery was quick and easy, all packaged safely with no problems. A fantastic buy, very pleased.

Purchased to replace a HyperX headset mic that was becoming cumbersome. Installed very easily, little setup required. Works great with Windows 10, paired with a boom arm for placement and to help lower needed gain from desk placement.Audio is very clear, on par with similarly priced products from Blue and AudioTechnica. The tap to mute feature is extremely convenient, and the product looks great as well. Very solid construction. Highly recommend this if youre looking for a plug and play solution that does not require a separate mixer, or bloated software solutions for features. Everything is on the mic itself.

This is by far an excellent replacement for my Seiren X. I returned my Razer mic and replaced it with this one. For 140, you get a shock mount, a mic with multiple sound patterns with a builtin pop filter. Although, Id still use a pop filter in conjunction with this microphone. The builtin pop filter is okay but not that great at muting out plosives. The ONLY drawback for this microphone is that when its active, there is no way to turn off the bright red LED. Its set at an angle for me on my desk but when its on, its hard for me not to ignore it in my peripheral vision. Its so annoying. Then I found out the QuadCast S is only 20 more AND you have the option to make the mute function have the LED and the active function to have no LED. Look, I like LEDs like the next person but if youre trying to stream a game and the mic is nearby your face, you cant help but see the bright red glow in your peripheral vision which is so distracting.I ended up returning this and ordering the QuadCast S to be shipped to me. Yes, the LED on when active with no other way to turn it off unless you want to be muted is such an annoying thing. It shouldve at least been an option for us. Other than that, the audio is top notch.

Everything that I hoped it would be Great for so many applications, and extremely simple to setup. The mute sensor on top of the mic is so intuitive, and because it lights up red when it is listening, it helps to be sure you dont have any hot mic moments. Highly recommend

This product must be one of the best microphones on the market. Like no joke, its plug and play and it takes little to no effort to setup. The recording quality is fire and it is super customisable without the use of third party softwares. Would recommend this microphone 1000 to anybody new to the microphone market, and is looking for a cheap but highly effective microphone. It definitely out performs the Blue Yeti, and AT2020 at both functionality and sound quality. Plus it doesnt distort your voice like some microphones, it keeps it crisp and clean the way your voice should sound.

Great mic and comes with shock mount. If you dont need the change in colors, this is the way to go. All the great features. Red aint bad. Lol love it and love that it has stereo recording.

It has good rgb and a decent platform to control it all on. Very easy to set up and put together. The one thing I didnt like about it was the blue. No matter what I did I couldnt make it match the blue of my whole setup. This may sound picky, but at the mics price point, I expect a solid blue color. Especially with blue being a highly picked color in rgb or setups. You can still put it on blue, it just wont match other rgb, or it will start to look more of a dark purple. Overall great mic, good quality, love the tap to mute, and looks really good.

I bought this for my son who is an avid gamer. Weve only had it a short time, but immediately he said he received feedback that he sounded very clear. His friend said they can hear him much better that before with his headset mic. Hes very happy so far. I cant speak to its longevity, but the sound quality is great and he loves the red with black look of it also.

I bought these for our Media students. We now have 4 mics. The students can plug them into their laptop or a Mac and recording is easy, resulting in a high quality sound. When they get the kids tick of approval you know the product is good

This mic works really well for Zoom or Google meet sessions. It picks up voices across the room, and even in adjoining rooms. I would recommend this for virtual family gatherings and game nights. I have bought one for each of my adult children for this purpose.

Excellent mic. I use it for zoom calls and it works flawlessly. It does pick up everything so no noise canceling. It has sort of tensioner on it that are there more for show than anything else. It does have nice features as well. If you can get it at original price and not an inflated price due to popularity the value is good.

Been using it for streaming on twitch, talking on discordzoom, and recording interviews for a podcast. No complaints so far. It looks beautiful, no one complains about hearing too much feedback from my speakers if Im not using a headset and the shock absorber seems to help prevent the mic from picking up the clicking of my keys. And the mute touch button on the top is not to be understated, its super convenient. The light is beautiful as well Friends tell me I sound crystal clear with this.

I am a radio DJ and I am so so fussy when it comes to the quality of my voice on air. This mic is amazing the highs and lows of the human voice are all captured.Heres something they dont tell you and I dont know why, because its genius … when you plug your headphones into the mic, not only can you hear your own voice but you can hear whats playing on the laptop that the mic is plugged into. I do Voice Tracked radio shows including music then talk then music etc. and I love the fact that I can hear my voice and the music through the headphones. My voice is quiet through the headphones but thats deliberate to avoid feedback or echo. Its a beautiful design of microphone. The box includes a desktop stand and an adapter to mount the mic on a regular boom arm.I speak about 3 inches away from the mic. There is a built in pop filter which is fine for most uses but as I am on radio I needed to fit my own pop filter to the boom arm for extra protection. The included cable is really long and appears to be high quality. Its one heck of a quality product its not just for gamers its quite sad they advertise it as such I am a professional broadcaster and its good enough for me.

The hyperx quadcast s is a top tier microphone I have been using the blue yeti and although its a great mic as well, I have already fallen in love with the quadcast The sound quality is great, I love the colors, and its very easy to setup. The sound quality can be even better with certain configurations on discordobs so it can sound very professionalOverall I love this microphone and Im gonna enjoy streamingrecording videos with it

Starting my streaming journey and this is the first mic that I bought. I had some initial issues due to the mic being so sensitive and picking up EVERYTHING. I slowly found out a noise gate did not work for my surroundings but I accomplished the same thing with a noise supression filter instead and it works great Now that I figured out the right filters to set up, it ended up being a perfect fit and the sound quality is 910. I also love that it has the LED lighting effect so it looks good on streams. Feel free to check out the VOD for a sample of the quality or catch us live on Twitch

Love the customization of the lights, make sure you know where to download the software for it. The audio picks up really well through it, they also gave 3 more modes than just Cardioid which I may use for podcasting in the future. Also the headphone jack and gain control on the bottom is great for testing and sounding out audio. Only complaint I had was the price at the time being around 160, but still worth it

I like the product. I replaced my blue yeti with the hyper X. I like the feature of having the whole mic red or not in order to easily notice if it is on mute. Like the position of the gain as well as the shock absorbent mount. If you bump your desk it helps to take the shock instead of the blue yeti transmitting the bump to sound. Sound quality is great.

The mic itself is great My voice is crystal clear. The internal pop filter does its job. I use it for streaming and recording videos and I cant complain with sound. The red light is not programmable. I didnt realize when I bought it that it is not an RGB light. Only red. My stream theme is blue so it kind of throws things off. My fault for not realizing it wasnt able to be changed. My biggest issue with this mic is if youre gonna use it, you have to make sure you have headphones with an aux jack. When this is plugged in my computer and ps4 recognize this as a speaker, and will push audio out of it as well. This is very annoying. The mute button is a touch sensitive button at the top of the microphone. I love this. No actual button to mess with, just tap it on the top. The red light will turn off giving a great indicator if your mic is on or not.At the end of the day, its a great mic. I would have gotten the RGB version instead, but this mic is still absolutely fantastic. The built in shock absorber works and it comes with a mic boom adapter.

This is a very good product but very overpriced. The ease of use on this product is excellent though. For the price there are definitely better sounding microphones but this is one of the better USB mics that ive used. The tap to mute is one of my favorite features on this product and it really helps in those situations when you have to quickly mute your mic. Overall this product is very good but the price is slightly high.

  25. blank

    Phoegh

Nice RGB microphone, I like the mute button on top. The reason it didnt get 5 stars is because you have to crank up the input to the max to get a decent volume but I guess thats the limit of the soundcard on the motherboard. If you want a louder mic then you need a better audio card or an audio interface with a phantompowered XLR mic.

My son is a gamer and streamer and specifically requested this mic. According to him, it is great at filtering out background noise. It also has a built in pop filter. Quick curbside pickup and it fit the mic stand we had because it comes with several adapters. This mic is in demand which explains why the price is slightly higher than what we had seen previously.

I spent a lot of time debating which mic to get as my first good microphone. A few friends of mine had the nonrgb version of this, and I figured I would spend the extra money to get the rgb. It was totally worth it. Not to mention the tap to mute is THE BEST. It was worth the money I spent.

I purchased this mic three weeks ago to improve my sound quality during video conferencing, and for archival recording of my friends TTRPG. While the quality is good, the sensitivity is completely unacceptable. With gain maxed on the device, the system, and recording software it can only achieve a quiet recording at 6 inches of distance from the microphone. I got the same results on multiple different PCs.I worked with HyperX support to try to resolve the issue, assuming that there was user error or perhaps the unit was defective, but after going through their steps was I cant think of any other setting to adjust the microphones sensitivity. I would think if its at the center of a round table in omnidirectional it would be able to capture everyones voice. But it seems it may not be what you are looking for.Id consider other options, or hope that you dont run into issues and need to work with their support.

HyperX bundles everything you need into one microphone. The quality is good for the price, does pick up a lot of background noise, but that happens with most condenser mics. Some people arent a fan of the light, and maybe they could of made the mute button be led instead of the whole mic, but it doesnt bother me that much. Maybe for future versions you could custom RGB the mic. Overall, microphone works well for the COVID19 zoom calls, podcasting, or gaming. If you have a nice pair of headphones to pair with it, it makes for a good combo.

I havent adjusted the mic at all, but with NVIDIA Broadcast it sounds great. Its very clear, and the red looks nice. I would not recommend buying this IF AND ONLY IF you dislike the red RGB and want more customization. The HyperX Quadcast S allows you to adjust the colors.

Lots of connectivity issues, fluctuation in mic input sometimes Im screaming, other times it sounds like Im speaking from miles away. The input volume settings in app automatically changes as well. This is my first mic purchase so I dont have a lot to compare with, but it definitely has given me a lot of problems since my purchase 3 months ago.

I used to have a blue yeti and I hated it. It was echoey and not the greatest quality. It also did not put out an accurate representation of my voice. I bought this one and the moment I heard my self I new it was perfect. It adds extra base to your voice which makes you sound older and more mature. It also does not pick up much background noise and has clean crisp audio. I definitely recommend this product to others.

Theres a few differences with this and the former Quadcast in terms of structure and etc but i am very pleased with the Quadcast S. The RGB is very nice and in terms of customisation there is a lot of options and different effects. The softare is pretty annoying and incosistant to use but theres nothing wrong with the mic itself. The ledslightbulbs arent the best as you can clearly see where they are from the levels of lighting but the overall quality and mic quality is very good.

    VinnyzzOnYouTube

Amazing Microphone, just picks up background noise which is pretty annoying. On the cardioid setting even on a boom arm this mic will pick up keyboard sounds, pc sounds, and slot of stuff like that. I recommend that if you get this microphone you download RTX Voice. Probably one of the best noise suppression softwares out there. Overall a great microphone love the rgb and love the overall build quality.

Hands down the best mic I have ever owned. I have had several mics and HyperX is far superior with product quality and design. I ordered one for myself and my husband loved it so much I got him one too This mic has all the features you could want or need. Easy to use, can plug headset into the mic and hear yourself and others perfectly. Great for podcasting Lets not forget how awesome this looks Glows red unless muted and the mute button…well you dont even need to fully touch it to mute. Just hover over the mute button to mute or unmute. Many mics I have had you can hear the mute button being pressed or they wear away and stop working. This is such an AMAZING product and I highly recommend. I am a game streamer and podcaster. The first mic I got was black Friday. Reviewing the second purchased mic.

Its pretty good. Had an issue at first where due to windows settings I wasnt getting the proper quality of the microphone but you just head to sound settings and find the Quadcast, hit properties, and make sure its on the highest setting. Its easy to use and the on board mute function makes it really nice when you cant swap to like discord or something and mute it yourself. The price is pretty steep but its a very high quality microphone and you dont need any drivers for it either.

Excellent microphone I mainly use it with Discord and Zoom. I think this is one of the best usb mics out there. When I plugged it in I could finally here myself through the aux jack and when I talk to my friends they can tell the difference too. Not to mention the lights on it are good too. Overall one of my best sound purchases ever.

    Arconix

Great quality sound. Works great on stream. Easy to setup and understand, directions were clear to work with, and the interface was easy to get through.A bit of a caution, if youre streaming and have NVIDIA Broadcast, it will seemingly cause the driver to crash at inopportune times, which I believe to be an issue with the app, and not the mic.

The HyperXQuadcast is substantially better than using the computer built in microphone. It also works much better than a headset. The Polar pattern options are easy to set and work well to use the sound source wanted for broadcast. It works great for conference calls and the mute function is more easily activated or removed than clicking the mute function on the screen. Plus, it just looks cool.

The Quadcaster S has been fantastic. The audio quality is perfect and needed no modification or adjustment out of the box. I have it setup on a boom arm and the operation is flawless. I stream every night on Twitch and Facebook using StreamLabs OBS and the audio mix is spot on. The software for the mic is still in beta, but the RGB color adjustment works great. The audio quality is far better than the Wave 3 from Elgato and sounds better than the Yeti as well. I definitely recommend picking one up.

So far so good Love the quality. My friends seem to like hearing the crispiness of the quality through discord. Stream wise, very very good budget mic Only problem is that since its plugandplay, there is no software for audio settings and such. Good weight as well for mic boom.

The goodThe mic looks amazing and the stand is very high quality. This works completely fine in Ubuntu 20.04 and Windows 10 and doesnt require any software, which can be a concern for Linux users. The sound quality is amazing, its incredibly clear. The polar pattern knob is very tactile and clicks solidly, you wont need to worry about accidentally changing it.The badThe mic is somewhat quiet, I need to crank the input volume to 150 in software for it to be an acceptable level. The gain knob moves a little too easily.Kind of large, it can obscure your monitor, however I can use it just fine putting it behind my monitor, of course if you need serious quality this may be a problem, but then again you will probably mount it on an arm if its that important.ConclusionIts pretty good, but not perfect. I am definitely pleased with it.

I picked this mic up about a week ago and Ive been enjoying it for the most part. I am using it predominantly for online school courses and for playing video games. The quality of the mic is top notch for being a USB mic. The only mics that would, in my mind, sound better than this one would be something that plugs into a sound board or other sound equipment. But, for a plug and play, its all you could ask for. I love the red light that comes on when you are live and how it goes black when you are dark. Its more helpful than trying to remember if you pushed the right button or not and having everyone then yell over the call or game that you are muted. The only critiques that I have for this would be 1 the build quality and 2 the placement of the wire ports coming out the back. First, the build quality leaves some to be desired. Dont get me wrong, this is still a solid mic option. The thing I have an issue with the most would be the gainfade knob at the bottom of the mic. It is free spinning. The reason this is an issue for me is that any slight bump of the bottom of the mic, this will turn that knob which can throw your sound out of whack. If the knob clicked into place and allowed you to still turn it but then click something to lock it into place, it would be perfect. I get why they did it so you can tweak it ever so slightly to find the perfect point but if you were that concerned with sound, you would just get a 400 mic instead. Second, the placement of the ports for the headphones, polar pattern selector and the power supply are on the back of the mic. Again, I get why they did this so the front of the mic is aesthetically pleasing however, this makes it very awkward to a mount on a mic arm or b change settings should you need to.Overall, this is a great mic still and I would recommend it for someone looking for a good quality mic for instant use.

When I started streaming I knew I wanted to get a microphone that was going to give me better vocal quality than what your average headset mic could accomplish, but it took me a long time to settle on which one to buy. I spent a few hours scouring youtube for reviews with my headset on so I could listen to sound quality differences closely, and I believe it was the Hardware Canucks who finally got me convinced to give this one a go.At 139.99 the current price at the time of this review the HyperX Quadcast is definitely a little more pricey than some of its competitors, but not overpriced compared to some of the big names out there, like Blue Yeti. Aesthetically it lives up to that price point, with the shock mount and redglow behind the built in pop filter. Featurewise as well this lives up to the price point. The four selectable audio modes each work well for their purposes. The touchsensitive mute button on top is responsive and unobtrusive, located so it wont be hit accidentally. And the gain adjustment knob on the bottom is very smooth and quality feeling. Its not perfect, though. The shock mount that comes built on doesnt do avery good job. Because it sits on a desk top by default anything that taps against the desk with it tends to be picked up by the mic pretty easily. Fortunately it comes with an adapter that will allow me to mount this onto a microphone boom arm, so hopefully that wont be as much of an issue.I also wish that, in this 2020 era of almost every lit up PC component and accessory having a RGB option, this microphone did too. The solid red backlight doesnt exactly fit my computers aesthetic, but thats a tiny gripe at the very worst and almost not even worth mentioning. All in all I am pretty darn happy with my purchase, and I would be happy to recommend this to anyone who wants a nice quality microphone.

Its a good microphone, bought a T20 boom arm on amazon to mount it to my desk. The only issue I have with it is the red color glow, it is a little annoying to have in front of you for long gaming sessions. And if you are streaming with a webcam this will add a red glow that will make your color span uneneven. Overall sounds really good and people definetely know its a good mic.

    robjallan

Sound quality is great and the best part is the fact that it illuminates when its unmuted, which no other mic does. Only downside is that muting is local to the mic so it doesnt reflect on the windows. That means other participants on MS teams or Zoom whatever wrongly assume that your mic has been left open that means you get falsely accused of causing any background noise

Pros The Mic has brilliant clear sound quality. The features built in to the microphone make it so you dont really need added software. I would consider myself an average gamer, and I primarily use my PS4 occasionally use my PC for online gaming with my friends and streaming. I was looking for a microphone that would deliver an exceptionally highquality experience and more importantly enhance my game play. The Hyperx Quadcast Standalone Microphone is great for many reasons. Particularly, I like the fact that I can use the Quadcast Microphone either on my PS4 or on my PC it does also support Mac users. It does come with a very long USB cord over 9 feet, headphone jack connection, and an amazingly effective antivibration shock mount. The sensitivity of the microphone is amazing as I have not even noticed any mic drops during my lengthy sessions. The taptomute feature is awesome It is incredibly easy to use. The Hyperx Quadcast Microphone has a feature where an LED light illuminates or not which indicates broadcast status, but I have yet to utilize this feature. While I hope I wont have to use it, I love that the Hyperx Quadcast stands by their product with a 2year warranty I am used to electronics coming with only a 90day warranty. Would recommend this Hyperx Quadcast Microphone for any novice or avid gamer who wants to up their game.

this is a awesome microphone. worth the money yu pay for this. i been using it for over a month now and have no issues. great sound quality and for those that do videos, this look very nice and not cheap looking or a big egg looking thing. only recommendation i would give is gettting a Pop Filter. it pics up really good and will pick up your Ss and other words to good and will sound a little off.

I got this microphone to test vs a Blue Yeti since I was upgrading my older microphone and when I initially got it it was fine. The sound was a bit warmer than the blue yeti and felt a bit less sharp which was very nice. The volume slider being so easily adjustable supposed to be a selling point is actually annoying because sometimes I adjust the microphones position and I accidentally change the volume levels. The one issue I do have with it is that its begun to have a hissingpopping sound every time I use it. I dont use this one as often as the Blue Yeti and that ones given me no issues yet this one has random pops and clicks when being used even if no sound is being recorded kind of like a noisy signal. Will end up exchanging it as I did get the protection plan, but kind of a bummer that it didnt last as long as Id hope, especially given that is is my backup mic.

Use it to for web meetings and online gaming via PC. Works like a charm and I never get any feedback from teammates about my voice coming in unclear. The led light is great because you can easily tell whether youre on mute or not.The mic is sensitive to picking up noise which I think is a plus. For me, the mic was as simple as plug and play.

This is the BEST microphone Ive ever owned am very happy with this purchase. It produces extremely clear audio, and my friends on Discord can hear me perfectly fine.If you are worried about background noise, Ive found that RTX voice works some form of black magic… It completely eliminates all of the background noise whilst still keeping your voice clear D

  63. blank

    Inducka

Overall great mic and love the rgb. Id give a five star but the background noise is terrible and Ive tried a lot to mute background. It will pickup tv in the room, etc to where my astros wouldnt pick up any background noise. Even Krisp is discord doesnt block out the sound. Ive downloaded a program thats supposed to cancel out background but you will still hear background noise when you talk.

This is the best USB microphone Ive used. Close competitors are the Audio Technica AT2020 USB and the Rode NTUSB. However, the fact that the HyperX Quadcast comes with a builtin pop filter and design of this is both very study and lighter in weight, this is what I aim for as a streamer. Id go with this if youre looking for a USB microphone. Otherwise just go with an XLR option. Though that route is more costly, but you get what you pay for.

Great audio quality for a USB mic. Overkill features for workfromhome voice calls in these pandemic times. Excellent mic for livestreaming, and great features for a variety content creator. Its a little pricey for complete beginners to commit to, and the audio quality wont be as good as an XLR microphone, but its an amazing price and feature set on its own.Its shockingly light, meaning it wont tip over tabletop tripods, or weigh down budget boom arms. It comes with its own pop filter and shock mount built in. It has a gain adjustment dial on the bottom, and a polar pattern selector dial on the back. Many microphones dont have onoff switches. Not only does the QuadCast have a touchsensor on the top for muting and unmuting, the red pop filter lights up when the mic is active. The USB cable for the mic is thick and braided with a smooth sleeve. The mic comes with a desk stand, and a threaded adapter between 38 and 58, so for most users, everything youll need for setup will come with the box.

  66. blank

    Tyler

The build and microphone quality of this is great, the RGB is subtle and the Ngenuity software is easy to use, only bad things are that the mic will pick up A LOT of audio from banging your desk or even just setting things down. The only downsidenegatives I can see is the overall quality of the product, whilst its AMAZING compared to other USB mics it feels a bit hollowlight for how it looks, and that there was no upgrade to the Microphone from the original Quadcast except for the addition of RGB.Overall its an amazing microphone for its price point and I highly recommend picking one up.

    Gormph

This mic sounds clear, is easy to setup, looks good and feels sturdy. The two biggest complains i have with this purchase have nothing to do with the product. My MAIN gripe is that i was not allowed to warranty this item, while i dont think i will need it, i normally warranty items over a certain value and am more then a little disappointed about this. So overall this is a great product but you cant add protection to it. So if thats a selling point op for one of the other fine usb mics, maybe a gtrack pro or a yeti

    DaloSwank

Nice mic, looks great.Good sound, clarity.Only thing is slightly light, so if using it with Blue boom arm had to add weight to keep it down all the time. Good product, son very happy. Added pop filter also.

Yes, I paid an extra 20 so I could have the option to turn off the LED while streaming, ha ha. I had the original QuadCast with bright red LEDs. The sound quality was topnotch. However, no matter where I put it on my desk near my voice while I was gaming, it was so hard not to get distracted by the bright red LED. So I returned the original QuadCast to get the QuadCast S. I think its worth the additional 20 if LED color matching or simply turning off the LED when its live is something worth a lot to you. With the QuadCast S, you get the same mic only that the rear connection is USBC thank goodness and through the beta software, you can turn OFF the LED when the mic is live and leave the LED on when it is muted. So I have mine set to have a red LED on when muted, and off altogether when live. Such a welcome option. Especially if you just want a nice mic without the lights yelling out LOOK LOOK THIS IS A GAMER MIC lol.Overall, this mic is one of the best USB mics Ive used so far it surpasses my old Blue Yeti USB which is surprising, plus that thing is a HUGE mic and is quite the eyesore to look at.Note Probably best to get an additional pop filter. Even though this mic is advertised to have a builtin pop filter, its not that great to be honest. Throw in another pop filter to adequately remedy any annoying plosives. Also, get a boom arm for this mic

Love the mic. Its so easy to use, plug it in and its ready to go. There is a software that is needed to change the lights on the microphone but the software is very user friendly. Overall a great sounding mic with great features for a USB microphone. It even has a shock mount connected to it so no need to go buy one later

  71. blank

    OnionKnight

I would say this is the best USB microphone for the price range hands down. You get the whole nine yards with it. A shock mount, VERY sturdy stand, easy to mute, and an adapter to mount to an arm. The sound quality is superb. And gain is easy to adjust. There are no necessary software to get this working either.Issues with it1 LED is very bright, I wish there was a setting to turn it down.2 Microphone is tall, can be unwieldy depending on where you have or it how much space you have. I have raised monitors so I can just put it in front of me.3 The gain is TOOOO easy to adjust. If I had stronger lungs, I could probably turn it with my breath. Which sucks because the gain is on the bottom, so if you have it on a monitor arm above your keyboard, you might tap it.4 It comes with 2 washers that go between the mic and the stand to keep it super secure, these fall out too easily and I did lose one to the abyss on my first day of owning this. Its like dropping a screw and losing it for good. Its not necessary to have these, but it spreads the pressure evenly from mic to stand to keep it level or keep it from moving on accident.Otherwise I have had no other issues with this mic and nothing but good things to say.

  72. blank

    ItybChris

Very easy to use and simple installation. No software for it but I dont think that matters. The included stand has a very wide base in my opinion and is best to replace with a boom arm. There are better microphones for the price though

the Hyperx quadcast mic is simply amazing, i had a blue yei but the usb port broke and i was planning to buy another blue yeti til i read review on the hyperx quadcast, the tap to mute for mic is awesome which lets you know if its on mute or not from red illuminated light. it have 4 different modes for voicing depending on what you use it for. the mic itself is lighter than blue yeti and if u have a boom arm, it comes with a attachment for the boomarm. Overall i like the quadcast over blue yeti. its worth every penny even tho its a lil expensive compare to the blue yeti.

Honestly, the mic has been a disappointment. When I first purchased it, it was working amazingly, but that was short lived. Then mic instantly began malfunctioning. This was 2 days after purchasing it. I contacted HyperX and they wanted to RMA it for a refurbished unit. AFTER TWO DAYS OF OWNING IT I exchanged it for another mic and the same issue began after like a week. I will be returning it and purchasing another product instead.

I like it. The RGB is nice. And the mute is amazing. You can mute yourself on discord and it looks like you arent muted. Aint that greatAlso like the gain control. Works with any standard boom arm.Glad HyperX made this. I dont like red light, so the previous model wasnt an option.

Ive been considering getting a Microphone for awhile. Most of my gaming accessories are from HyperX. They have great quality items I was introduced to HyperX by a friend who works for the company. Since then, Ive bought all my accessories from them. I was going to buy the microphone off the website however it was sold out but I saw best buy had a few left and it was on sale because of Black Friday. So of course I had to get one before it was all gone Highly recommend any HyperX gear.

Compared to the Yeti and went with this. I am not disappointed. I love the bump sound reducers and the red look. My favorite part about it is that it is easy to silence with a touch and obvious that it is on or off by the red glow.

This is a great plug and play streamer might that needs very little to no setup. Just plug it in and set the mic option using the knob on the back. I really like that you can mute that might by just tapping the top of it. NOTE the only difference between this version and the regular QuadCast is that this uses USB C and it has RGB instead of just red lights.

Pros Extremely low noise floor especially using the cardioid pattern, which has reduced the amount of cleanup I have to do on recordings. Really clear separation on the stereo pattern, great for creating a sense of space. Much lighter than the Blue Yeti, which means it can hang on lowerend scissor arms more easily. Overall Im really happy with this mic, its a serious upgrade from the Blue Yeti it replaced, and comes in at roughly the same cost.Cons I dont hate the red light, but its a bit much, especially on a video call. Would be better if there was a way to dim it or disable it. Its also definitely worthwhile getting a separate pop filter, as the built in one doesnt really do the job.

Decided to spend the extra 20 difference for the QuadCast S and Im glad I did The RGB lights make for great use as it is changeable. The mic also has great quality with a lot of features, compared to other competitors. I would however recommend getting a boom arm, so it becomes more steady and adjustable.

Ive had this mic for about a month now. Mainly for use with streaming but also for general voice chat and while at work. The on the fly adjustable gain knob is extremely useful as well as the touch sensitive mute. Knowing when your broadcasting is a breeze with the red LED light letting you know. Overall the voice quality and features of the mic make it a must buy at the price point.

This is simply the best mic that I have owned. It works really well and is super simple to use as it is a plug and play. It works very well on ps4 and a friend of mine says that it says it sounds like I am sitting next to them. This mic works well with with wireless headphones or you can plug a standard aux cord into the back the back of the mic which is handy. I love the led indicator its really handy to know if your mic is on or not. The only issue I have had is that the mic mode knob is on the back which makes it a little weird to change modes. But other than that the mic is awsome.

This mic is beast I love the colored lights and my friends can hear me perfectly. Unfortunately for streaming it can pick up the jet engine fans of my ps4, buyer aware but mostly humam error. I need to rearrange my setup to fix this problem. Worth it

Love this mic. Quality build and real quality sound, this mic comes with a fantastic base design that works to dampendeaden sounds and vibrations from the desk it sits on if not on a boom. I love the varied but simple controls built in bottom twist knob to adjust the gain level, a knob on the back to select from four different condenser profiles, and my favorite a sensitive touchpad on top to activatemute the mic activity that also shuts off the LED lights to indicate same. We have had a few Yeti BlueYeti Nanos in the house, and I was nervous about swapping when I know those mics were a standard to measure to at the price point, but Hyper X delivers with this model. Love, love, love the USBC power connect Quadcast S model only over microUSB, and really enjoy the RGB array options over the non S model. I will admit Im a dork for the RGB lights I bought the nonS version first, literally tried it for 24 hours and talked myself into returning it for the S model. The NGenuity software you need to download has a few features, iand makes the lighting pretty customizable. Spent exactly 15 more bucks, but those two details alone sold me, otherwise I think the two models are identical as it relates to the rest of the build and craftsmanship. The sound is crisp, warm and clear I leave it in cardioid mode, best for streaming and general use, and from about 12 inch distance it is clear as a bell and the user sounds pretty much adjacent to you. Got it mostly for gaming, but also to hotswap into my work laptop to manage umpteen zoom calls a day, and Ive actually gotten a lot of complimentscomments on how clear I now sound. Great multitasker so far, would highly recommend.

Pros The mic is put together nicely and the built in shock absorber is a nice addition. considering this would cost you extra on a mic without it, its a nice addition. The red glow isnt too over powering and the touch to mute is also handy.Cons Personally whilst this doesnt bother me, being able to adjust the red glow or turn it off all together would have been nice.

  87. blank

    Robb

I use it mainly for gaming streaming and game chat, sounds super clear and used in cardioid mode it does a great job at not picking up background noise. Only real complaint is the red glow when live, it can be distracting and can glare off your monitor in a dark scene, I solved this issue by buying a foam pop filter to slip over the mic and super happy can still Barely see the light but definitely not distracting anymore. Would like to see a future update to reverse this toggle so muted is glowing red. And live is light off.

Solid microphone, great multipattern selection, love that it has its own shiockmount and is designed to go on a boom arm without any issues. A little overpriced, but a solid performer. If I could change one thing, it would to be able to turn off the led glow when using the mic, but as its designed to note whether the mic is muted or not, you cant. Otherwise, great stuff.

Im a pastor and during the Covid19 crisis, we transitioned our services online. I did this in a podcasting style. Instead of using our expensive handheld mics, I wanted something a little more fit for the task. At first it was a corded lapel mic. Then I went to this mic. It was a great decision. The HyperX is a simple plug n play mic with more features for the price than the Blue mics. The gain control on the base of the mic is a huge plus. The built in shock mount seems to work fine. I have been using this mic for two weeks now, doing programs six days a week. Very happy. I will eventually but it on a boom arm and see how that works.

Like a lot of people in these difficult times, I decided to give LiveStreaming a go and this mic caught my eye due to its gorgeous color scheme. After a lot of review searching, I gave it a go and I have been so blown away by its performance. It honestly sounds great and with a little tweaking with the right software can sound even better. The ability to tap the top of the mic to mute it is such a useful feature, which in turn shuts off the red LED inside the mic so you know when its on or off. The gain dial at the bottom is also very useful though the visual dots on it arent very accurate and also the ability to plug in headphones to monitor yourself is extremely useful too.The only thing I would suggest buying along with this mic is a proper boomarm or mic stand. As its a USB condenser mic, it does pick up the sounds of a keyboard, mouse, or accidental desk bumps if you use the included stand.

Looking to stream, record, ASMR or whatever it is This has all the features and options needed to do so. I owned a lot of Mic brands such as AudioTechnica or Yetis and this one by far is the best one Ive purshased so far. The quality is really the best and you can adjust it to whatever you like. The mic touch ontop is great. If you need to mute, just tap the top of the mic and the red lights turn off so you know its off which is awesome. Goodluck

I previously purchased the JLab Talk Go and the Blue Yeti Nano, and although this mic is its on category, Im very impressed of all the subtle features that saved me money. I mainly use this to replace my terrible quality of my headset mic and podcasting, and I love every single thing about this mic. The mic has a sensitive mic, with 4 pickup patterns, builtin pop filter, shock mount and beautiful looking red LED light. In addition, i love the mute function and the smooth gain knob. If this mic didnt have the pop filter and shock mount, Id be spending another 40 to account for those. I would definitely recommend this mic for any gaming, podcasting or voice overs.

Simple plug and play set up. Sound quality seems to be working nicely heard from other end callers. Recorded some instrumental samples and worked well. If you are using this to record instruments or singing, you may want to play the recording through good quality speakers. Through laptop speaker, recording didnt sound all that nice. But when played on Bose set up, sounded significantly better so the product definitely works well. Dont care much for red color but does look pretty good in lowere light setting.

Can be your first and last mic purchase if youre looking for something other than a gaming headset. Sounds good out of the box and setup is as easy as plugging in the USB. It may seem pricey compared to other entry mics but when you combine the additional cost of a pop filter shock mount which are builtin to this one its similarly priced. Only negative is that its bright red and the led is on when the mic is unmuted instead of turning on while muted.

For the past couple years Ive gotten terrible mics for my PC, not wanting to spend big bucks. The investment you make on a mic like this one absolutely worth it. If youre like me and play games for fun, but want a better microphone just because, then this mic is perfect It may be a bit more expensive than a blue yeti but in reality its cheaper because this mic has a builtin shock mount and pop filter, while the blue yeti has neither, so you need to get those separately. Buy a boom arm and thats it You have a complete mic setup with just the Quadcast and a boom arm. The quality is great for a casual gamer or even a streamer starting out, honestly a professional can use this and there probably wouldnt be a problem In conclusion, if youre willing to drop the money, get this mic, its worth it.

This was the first quality mic standalone mic that i have bought. Most of the mics that i use for gaming just come from the headset. When my headset mic was starting to go out i decided to splurge and get this one. My voice comes out clear and loud for my friends on discord and teamspeak and the setup is really easy. The tap to mute is especially a lifesaver since i have a lot of people coming into the office and asking stuff. One of the problems that some people not knowledgeable enough is the 4 modes that it has and how to correctly use them. Other than that great product for a decent chunk of change

The kicker Its not just a pretty face, as this mic also has outstanding recording quality as well. While appealing to the eyes, the Quadcast does back up the image with quality. Not feeling too heavy duty is a small drawback but the experience overall with the various recording settings makes up for it. You will need to adjust things to accommodate your preferences, but using a equalizer program will also suffice.Red light does bring a radio studio vibe, and the top of the microphone does have a touch response for instant muting. Using this often for my stream and have received a few compliments from my audience noting the improved audio.

Love this mic Great quick to grab plugin and start using mic. I have it for recordings and for playing games as well. The best part is that the mute button is on top of the mic and when the mic is on the whole thing lights up red Great mic, but, and this is why it has 4 stars, if you want to hook it up to a mixer, there is no way of doing that. This is strictly a mic for gaming or doing direct recordings from your computer. Thats all I got

The look of this microphone is excellent, however, there are two major issues that made me return this item.1. The only way you can control the RGB and certain settings is through the HyperX software, which will fail on me almost every ten minutes. At random, the lights will shut off, the microphone will go mute, then will boost itself to 50, and force you to open the software to change it. This will occur dozens of times a day and is so inconvenient, I had to return it. Not only that, but HyperX has not responded to a help request I made days ago. No troubleshooting on my end will fix this issue.2. This issue is a lot less annoying, however, I cannot stand it. There is a single spot close to the center of the lit part of the microphone will is slightly dimmer than the rest of the mic. It probably has to do with the internal mic blocking certain LEDs in that particular area, so this will be a universal issue. To me, it was very noticeable and drove me crazy.

When my Blue Yeti broke, I decided to use the mic built into my headset. I wasnt really into the sound, but I didnt want to spend Blue Yeti money again. Eventually when I was buying some other items at Microcenter, I decided to pick up the HyperX QuadCast.I love how much better the HyperX QuadCast sounds. The headset mic was quite tinny compared to the QuadCast. This one has a nice bit of bass to it that makes things sounds a lot better. Of course, theres also the advantage to a mic like this being better quality as a special purpose device. I also like that theres a pop filter built in.There are just two things that brought it down from 5 stars. One is that the mic gain is incredibly easy to move accidentally if you brush up against it while moving the mic or moving your hands past it. The Blue Yeti had the gain controls on the back, which made it harder to accidentally move. The other thing, its kind of both a procon. The mute button up top is capacitive touch. On the plus side, you dont get the audible sound of unmuting like you do with the Blue Yeti. On the minus side, it can trigger when your finger is still a few centimeters off the mic, so I could see it perhaps accidentally muting if you get too close to it especially in a boom mic configuration. At least its not hard to notice if its off because the entire mic lights up red when its unmuted.Overall, it seems to produce great audio at least for my purposes but Im more of an amateur enthusiast and its a big cheaper than the Blue Yeti.

In this day of Zoom meetings all day long, one of the best things to buy is a good, electret condenser microphone. The HyperX does a great job its easy to use, easier to set up, and works like a dream. It has four different sound fields that are quickly selectable, and while on the large side, it isnt quite as massive as some of the others out there. It comes with its own shock mount, so you dont pick up a lot of stray sound from table tops, etc.

This mic is amazing Its not too heavy but its not light either. Great build quality. The performance is second to none I love all the different modes this mic has to offer, and I like the fact that it has a gain switch that you can toggle with as well. Oh and to mute it Just tap your finger on the top and the LED indicator on the mic will go off letting you know its muted. It has a built in pop filter and also a shock mount. Those are usually purchasable for mother mics, but with this one, you dont need to purchase those extra accessories Awesome and very, very happy with this purchase

The recording quality is crisp, there is little to no background noise and the volume settings provide a great sound quality if youd like to record your voice a little louder. 1010 would HIGHLY recommend.

This was a Christmas present for my son, and he absolutely loves it. The sound quality is clear, with no echos and background noise, not to mention, the red color of the mic looks very cool when its lit up. Its a little pricey but I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a good mic.

Setting up the microphone was very easy. Just plugged it into my PC via included USB and it was ready. It can also be adaptable to a third party mic stand or boom, which will be handy once I need one. The shock mount and stand it comes with is definitely sturdy enough though and it has an antislip material on the bottom to help keep it from moving around. To test out the mic, I connected to an online video chat with family. The audio was heard loud and clearly to them with no problems. Bumping into the table and moving the mic around, didnt affect the audio, so the shock mounts did their job. Being able to mute by just tapping the top of the mic is a great feature. The glowing red light is a helpful indicator that the mic is on, then when tapped, the light turns off. Since this mic will be used for crafting tutorial videos, I wanted to test out the recording. Im still pretty new with recording videos, but the playback was great for what I need it for. I havent used the polar patterns yet, but the ability to switch through 4 different patterns will be useful for recording different types of videos, e.g. one on one interviews or group talks. I believe this the HyperX would be a great mic for anyone looking to start doing podcasts, videos, recording game play, or just chatting online.

It is a great sounding microphone with many cool features like the ability to change your voice pattern and the ability to plug a pair of headphones into it and have mic monitoring. My only issue is the rgb lighting, it has a dark spot in the center where the actual sensor is that is very prominent, and it took me by surprise because I cant find that anywhere on the internet.

Fantastic mic with no complaints. I have this mic set up at my desk for recording voice overs and some game chat.Solid mic with crystal clear quality, comes with a built in shock mount, stand, fully customizable RGB and an internal Pop Filter.Has 4 different sound profiles which allow you to record directly in front of the mic, front and back, left and right, or a 360 area around the mic. Compatible with PC and Playstation but not XBOX and Switch unfortunately…This mic also attaches to most boom arms and uses a custom USB TypeC Cord to power it. The mic also sports a simple TouchtoMute button at the top of the mic. When the Light goes off, the mic is muted. When the light is on, its recieving audio.I added an extra Pop Filter to the mic due to the built in one not being enough for my liking.

The microphone itself has looked and worked great from the moment I plugged it in. The base is sturdy and feels good, although I removed the microphone from it and attached it to an arm instead. The conductive mute button is a feature I use frequently and its great not to have a click that gets transmitted through the mic just be very soft with your touch which is also true for the gain wheel on the bottom if you use that often.Knocked off a star because the Ngenuity software used mainly to change the LEDs colors and patterns, but also to update firmware is extraordinarily buggy and awful to use. Its available ONLY as a windows app, not a stand alone program, and it constantly demands I update my microphones firmware only to stall out on doing so except for the single time I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, restarted twice, and it magically worked.I use OBS to manage my audio, so it isnt a deal breaker. But I do hope it gets fixed soon and offers more options for audio management.

I could barely wait to get this out of the box when it finally arrived.First of all the mic is the perfect amount of weighty. It is USB powered and stand alone which makes it a hit in my book already. Add to the fact that it is quickly led readable and were checking more boxes. BUT then they added this feature…. A single tap to the top of the mic will enable and disable the mute feature and is indicated by a red glow behind metal mesh. Gain control is located at the bottom and the entire microphone and is suspension mounted to prevent any undesirable vibrations from being picked up.I just upped my live game by two hundred percent. To finish off this amazing package the thing is pro looking… Vicious and looks good in my live stream videos.

FOR BOOM ARM Do not worry like I did. It should be compatible with most because you can unscrew the holder and attach it on your boom arm in two minutes. It is not hard at all and you can really use any cheap 20 one because they are generally still sturdy and while heavier than you might expect, is considerably light as well.Actual build is great. Muting is fun and easy, microphone sounds amazing, VERY sensitive. If youre like me and are using it for recording games I would recommend RTX voice completely free, also works on GTX now as it is insanely good. Overall I like this mic and have no issues with it.

Extremely happy right now. I dont shop online often because I get stressed about the what ifs etc. After doing the research on the Quadcast I kind of just closed my eyes and hit purchase. Less than 24 hours and 3 bleeding noses later it arrives to work Mics great for streaming and once a did a few minor adjustments in OBS like noise gate and limiters etc it was perfect. Only issue I have is the gain control on the bottom doesnt click in place so a slight touch of it can change it but its a minor issue overall. Thanks mighty ape for making this grown ass man a happy kid

The sound on this thing is crisp and clear it admittedly still picks up my keyboard but thats a bit unavoidable with my at home setup and not a fault of the microphone. Gain is super easy to adjust on the fly, and the lights onoff mute tap on the top is a fast, useful and instant indicator that has come in so much handy. The construction is sturdy and cable stays secure. Would absolutely recommend it for any budding gamer or streamer looking to upgrade their setup.

At work we use a Blue Yeti and it has served well but this a touch better with the isolation stand and general composition. For example, I am not a fan of where the USB enter on a Yeti and people have broken many cables folding it before disconnect. That cannot happen on the QuadCast. The gain is easier to use while recording. I am absolutely in love with the led hot indicator and touch top for enabledisable. If you do any online presentations, this and a mic booth will have you starting with great source every time.

Looking for a decent mic thats not crazy expensive and stumbled upon this. It is a little pricey compared to its competitors like the BLUE Yeti, but I see so much people getting the blue yeti and since they are more or less on the same level, I went with this. not to mention it has a pretty good rgb on it. the tap to mute function is really good and the stand helps to minimize bumping vibration noise from tables or anything its on.

Ive always used mics built into headsets and sound quality is ok in those, but since covid19 and more time on discord for online gaming and dd upgrading my love didnt seem like a bad idea. Once I got it connected and setup all my friends commented that I sound a whole lot clearer over voice chat than before.I also really like that I can change the gain of the mic right from the microphone without having to go into software settings. I did a lot of research on an affordable quality microphone. This seemed to provide the best bang for the buck. I am using this to teach online and I have to say the sound quality is really good. I was worried Id have to have it really close to my face, but I dont. It works great and looks pretty. I love that it is easy to tell when I have it muted. The only thing I wish is that it also came with a USBC to USBC cable. I was hoping one I had would work, but it doesnt so I have to use an adapter to connect it to my computer. The Best Buy price was 100 lower than any other place I could find this in stock.

RGB control is intuitive and easy with the NGenuity software.

This is a great mic. It is very sensitive, so a separate noise filter is recommended if you have a clicky mechanical keyboard. I use this mic with the NVIDIA broadcast software that utilizes my 2080 Ti to filter out noise. I highly recommend using this with NVIDIA broadcast if you have a 20XX or 30XX graphics card. So far I have not had any complaints from anyone on the other end of my gamevideo chats. The RGB isnt as configurable as I had hoped, but its a nice feature to blend with the RGBs in my PC. It should be noted that the lights can only be configured for either live or mute, not both. So, either it lights up when the mic is live, or it lights up when muted. I would like to have one color setting when live and another when muted, but for now Ill settle for it being lot up while live and off while muted. There are only two separate LED sections, one on top and one on bottom, which limits RGB controls. Despite the limitations of the RGB controls, it does have a nice look and seems to fadetransition very smoothly. Once you configure it, you can save the setting to the mic so you dont have to launch the HyperX software at startup every time or install the HyperX software on all devices you plan to use this with.To summarize, if youre looking for a mic with great sound quality, this one will definitely do the trick. And if youre a streamer looking for something to add a little more flare to your stream, this one has some decent RGB support, but there are some others out there with more RGB features.

If you are willing to spend money on a condenser microphone, Id say you get this. The main reason why I say this is because its a 4in1 product. It has 4 polar modes to choose from, so its basically 4 mics in one. It has good pick up. So far, I havent had any issues apart from it pickups literally a lot of the audio in my room, so you would benefit from having audio software installed in order to equalize whether it picks up and outputs lows, mids, or highs and setup noise gates and noise suppression. It comes with a stand but you would benefit from having a mount to put it on.So far, having set this mic up, I have had no issues.

Impressive sound quality and surprisingly low selfnoise for a USB mic. Its clearly meant for gaming or podcasts, but works well enough for audiobooks as well, assuming a properly treated space. Softly tapping the top of the mic mutes it without an audible click and it has a nice, smooth gain knob on the bottom. Easy to set up, doesnt require any drivers or software, comes with a nice, long cable, and allows for proper latencyfree monitoring. I like that it comes with a basic shock mount and an adaptor to mount it to a stand or boom arm.

This microphone is so sleek The RGB lighting was definitely the hook, but Im also happy to see that its USB C to USB. Everything will eventually go to USB C. Dont buy this garbage. Get a mic from a reputable company who makes mics. I only had a 2 week period to return this and Best Buy will not take it back. i was trying to get it to stop echoing while on calls with online programs. Now I have to figure out how to get sound gate software to work to stop the bleed through. The only time it doe snot echo to other users is when i have it on mute. This mic is garbage. Everything I could have wanted. Been waiting for it to restock and couldnt be happier with it. The sensitivity and sound quality are probably my only issues. It picks up all my keyboard and mouse clicks. I have to use a third party program that cancels out background noise. Since switching from my headset mic to this one, theres honestly no difference in the sound quality. My voice comes through the same as it does with my headset mic. Still a clear sound, but no exactly a clean or crisp sound.

Great mic, for streaming, podcasts and now remote meetings. I used this initially for gaming, but I now use this for work also for remote calls. All my coworkers have complimented on how clear I sound. The best is that you can modify the direction of the mic. The mic is a definite improvement to my headset mic but not a really huge difference in quality. It could just be me but, my mic has lots of background buzzing noises. Ive tried many troubleshooting and even contacted HyperX. Still have the problem but isnt a really huge deal since I only use it for talking to my friends. But if youre planning on recording videos, doing commentary, I think another mic should be the better option unless your mic is all fine. But from my experience, its an eh mic, not the worst but not the best either.

  151. blank

    Reveiller

Good USB microphone. A lot of the price probably comes from the RGB, which make of that what you will. Ive found that while you can just keep it off entirely, without it can be difficult to keep track of whether its physically muted or not. Unless you are sensitive to sound and use mic monitoring by plugging your headphones directly into it.Its convenient that it comes with both a stand and an adapter to screw onto the shock mount to attach it to boom arm. I find it odd that the shock mount is screwed directly onto the mic, but I dont really understand the engineering of that so I wont make any broad, sweeping criticisms about that. Its overall been very good, but Ive found that Ive had issues with it on my new desktop setup. I have been unable to completely narrow downfigure out what exactly the problems are but my guess is that it has something to do with hardware acceleration settings and the amount of power required to power this microphone.Because of the adjustable RGB lighting on this version, it uses USBC which from what I understand requires more power than the last model. After building my new PC, I found that for whatever reason, using certain software or doing certain things in certain software would cause most of my USB devices to experience power issues like constantly disconnecting and reconnecting until I stopped doing whatever it was that caused it. I managed to MOSTLY stopmitigate this issue by disabling hardware acceleration in the things that were causing it the things that at least HAD the option to turn off hardware acceleration, mainly Discord and Google Chrome, and I also bought a USB 3.0 hub that plugs into the wall that I have everything plugged into now. But to this day the mic still experiences this issue as sometimes when I use ShareX to take a screenshot or just something random its pretty much always been something with screen capturing software from what I can recall at this moment the mic will flicker and briefly disconnect before regaining connection, usually once I stop using ShareX, etc.I am unsure if the above problem is the cause of this next issue, which is a really minor one, but ever since I started experiencing these issues, every so often the HyperX NGENUITY software on Windows that is used to change the lighting settings, etc., will constantly tell me I need to update the firmware of the microphone, and Ill follow the instructions, only for it to just tell me to do the same thing some random number of times. From what I can tell after checking it in the settings, the firmware version isnt actually changing so I have no idea if something extremely minor got broken inside the mic from the power delivery issues. Its more annoying than anything the mic still works fine more or less. The final issue I have with this mic, which is most of the reason I cant give this 5 stars is that there must be something wrong with the design of this mic in regard to static electricity. I live in a dry place in the US during the winter and sometimes I can feel the tingling of static electricity within the space between my ears and the earcups of my headphones. When I plug my headphones directly into the microphone, this static electricity is captured by the mics monitoring and I can hear it as very loud, brief buzzing. It is at the end of the day an erratically occurring annoyance, and thanks to NVIDIA Broadcast it solves the biggest part of this problem which is that other people can hear it when I use VoIP software like Discord and so forth. If it werent for NVIDIAs software this would be a tremendous issue that would make me even more frustrated with it. But anyways, I dont know if this is an issue with my headphones as well, as I dont have another pair to test this issue with. I have also read on places like Reddit that people experience this static electricity issue on other HyperX products, so this might just be a common problem among their product lineup. I also dont know if this mostly just me being unlucky with my living environment and the overall compatibility of all the hardware Ive selected for my desktop. In summary, its a good and easy to use USB microphone that sounds good enough. Its probably slightly overpriced, but hey what else would you expect from a gamertargeted product like this

best mic you can buy for under 200 bucks, the audio quality is superb, the features and adjustability are as far as you can go without software and the ease of use, and mount that comes in the box means you dont need anything else to make this make great.First, the quality is awesome, better than the blue yeti and any other mic in this class, just watch the reviews, the audio is crispy and has good quality overall. On the subject of quality and the audio part, it has a built in pop filter inside the mic that looks great and works well but it doesnt filter everything, if you need a good pop filter this probably isnt enough but its great for everyday use to have. The built in gain and audio mode is great, changing the gain can really help, if you have allot of background noise you can turn it down, and if you far away from the mic you can turn it up, and many recording modes for interviews, normal gamingstreaming, and more. The mic has a built in mute button on top, and conveniently the red lights turn off when you mute, which is awesome and a really easy way to know if your muted, if your like me and you sometimes forget your muted, The mute is also capacitive, so all you have to do is tap, you dont have to push like your phones buttons, so its very easy and not a hassle and it wont move your mic around. On the subject of moving the mic around, the built in mount is shock proof and very heavy and high quality and adjustable, and whenever you want to mount it on a tripodboom arm, it comes with a adaptor that you can mount onto 38 and 58 in mounts, its so easy to transfer with a thumb screw and a nut and is very easy to do again. In all, this is an all in one mic that literally has everything you could ever want in a mic with convenient accessories and features that no other manufactures care to implement

Ordered through PBtech when they first got stock. The mic has been awesome from day one, the mic is crisp, clear, and a big step up from the headset i was using. the only issue i have run into is using the headphone output. Monitoring my own voice is crystal clear, but the moment i route my computers audio to the mics headphone output i get a static sound in my headset. Unsure what could be causing this but will probably email support to ask. I have an audio interface so have been running my headphones from that instead so its not a big deal but still worth mentioning. Aside from that minor issue, its an awesome mic. Very happy

I got this wanting to use something other than my headset mic, and its a world of difference. Friends say that I come through crystal clear now on discord. I could even do top notch asmr if I wanted to.The multiple settings are nice to change how sound is picked up, like you could do a set up for a face to face recording with someone and pick up both channels. Though I havent messed with these too much, people do like them I just found the best setting for me that doesnt pick up my keyboard. There is a nice input volume dial on the bottom, the only thing I dont like it the dots for volume level down cover the whole distance it spins. So its a bit of a guess on the input level. The touch mute button is nice for easily muting your input and the red lighting turns off when muted, letting you know that its not recording. The stand it comes with is very sturdy and has great weight to it, though I did attach mine to an arm to have it up personal preferenceOverall 1010 mic.

The RGB lights are beautiful and work fantastic. This mic is sleek and fancy and really makes your gaming setup seem that much more impressive. The stand works fantastic and the whole stand and microphone is made out of very good quality material. 5 stars for gaming because this microphone really is suited for that gamer setup look. 4.5 stars for sound quality because there is a bit of a room echo if you lean back farther than like 70cm. That issue is solvable with wall padding, or also buying a microphone arm to move the microphone closer to you as you sit. 4 .5 stars for value of money because it really does work like any other professional mic out there for 150200, but for me it was so worth the extra money because of how amazing the microphone looked.

The HyperX Quadcast condenser microphone is a good mic for beginners, however there are better ones on the market. Let me explain. The benefits of the Quadcast mic include the fact that its as simple as plugging it into a usb slot and being ready to use. It comes with 4 polar patterns stereo, omnidirectional, cardioid, and bidirectional. All four of these seem to work decently well. The Quadcast is also fairly easy to use for beginners. It comes with a gain knob at the bottom and a tap switch on the top to toggle mute, which turns off the red LED when muted. The Quadcasts build quality, however, is slightly worrying. Its a pricey USB microphone and yet its very lightweight without the stand. The quality of the sound is easily outdone by microphones with a lower price, like the Blue Yeti. In terms of sound quality, the Quadcast is about on par with the Blue Snowball, and the build quality feels more fragile than youd expect. Not to mention if you use the included mount adapter to attach it to a mic arm, it can be difficult to get the microphone to face the direction you want since the shock mount is screwed into the Quadcast as if it werent meant to be removed. All in all, the Quadcast is a good beginners microphone because of how easy it is to set up and figure out how to use. However, I believe the quality of sound isnt worth the price tag.

Fantastic mic. The sound quality is great, included stand and shock mount is great, and you can customize the RGB and such with the software. Overall a great upgrade from my previous Snowball. Build quality is great, if you plan on using a mic arm just make sure it can handle the weight, as this mic is a bit heavy. I received this purchase through the mail and it works amazing. Definitely worth the money plus it is light weight so you dont have to go with a heavy duty mounting arm. I would advice putting 30 dollars into it to be safe though. The touch mute button is also a great feature because you barely have to touch it or sometimes hover and it will mute without hearing the sound of the click. Please note that when I received the HyperX Quadcast, the same week the Quadcast S released. I used the Quadcast before returning it and believe that functionally, theyy are nearly identifical. The biggest difference is the color scheme and the RGB lighting. The Quadcast S uses a USB C connection while the original Quadcast uses a USB Mini connection. The Quadcast is a very high quality product. HyperX which is Kingston Technology Companys gaming division set a high bar with their Cloud line of gaming headsets. And while the Quadcast may not be the BEST microphone you can get your hands on in this price range, its loaded with features that give it value and flexibility. While the Quadcast looks great, especially in an esports environment, the Quadcast S is elegant. I would recommend the RGB Quadcast S, unless youre buying multiple microphones and building a themed studio. The recording quality on this microphone is the best Ive ever personally experienced, outside of some specific academic situations. If I project my voice, I can comfortably sit back in my chair and the mic will pick up my voice. It works better when Im in proximity to the mic. Naturally a boom arm will add some flexibility there.Communications and audio devices on computers tend to not be the most straightforward thing, but the mic works plug and play. The tougher part is putting all your audio settings together for, say, game recording. But it is doable and even for an amateur, the endresults are presentable. While playing some crossover Modern Warfare Warzone with friends on PS5, my voice was described as very HDThe only knock I can give it, is you dont really get any kind of way to monitor your levels in real time. Although the pop filter and shock mount help, even just a simple overlay that displayed the levels would have been nice to include. Im sure you can find applications that do this, but since HyperX offers a variety of audio products, they may consider developing their own software sweet for controller and monitoring them.

The HyperX Quadcast S is an outstanding microphone. I am not a gamer, I just needed a really good microphone for dictating in Word and also to hopefully use to produce a podcast. A couple of years ago I purchased a Blue Yeti, and it worked well at the time I was using it with my MacBook Pro and my Yamaha keyboard and that was fine. I ended up putting it away and not using it anymore because I really didnt have the time. So, for two years it basically stayed in its case and storage. Fast forward two years and I took it back out a few weeks ago and I could not get it to work with my MacBook anymore. Nothing I tried worked it was just crappy recording quality. Bottom line is that they werent keeping up with the software updates and it was no longer compatible it wouldnt work with Big Sur. So, I went looking for another microphone and I was not looking for the hyper X, I was looking for something else entirely. I came to the Best Buy website to buy something else, saw the hyper X saw and all the tremendous reviews, so I rolled the dice and Im glad I did. Straight out of the box absolutely zero setup. I plugged it in, made a couple of trial recordings in audacity, made a couple of trial recordings in GarageBand, dictated a couple of documents to Word and everything worked perfectly right out of the box, zero effort on my part. If you want a great microphone, it doesnt matter if youre a gamer or not this is a great USB microphone. Its a little more than the Blue mics, but theres a reason for that. You get what you pay for.I dictated this review into a Word Doc using the mic and only had to make one correction.

I had a Blue Yeti blk out ed. was defective so I switched it up to this mic. after 2years. In general its a great mic if probably same as the yeti tbh however this one is way more aesthetically pleasing, easier access to adj. Gain Control at bottom, Vibration Shock Mount, Four Polar Patterns on the back side of the mic, Pop Filter, and mute just a tap on the top works nicely. Customizable via HyperX NGENUITY Software Personalize your RGB lighting and effects with HyperX NGENUITY software.

I love the light customization and its a really good microphone, to boot It doesnt have any software with it that lets you adjust the microphone itself at all soundwise, except for the direction but most streaming software has more than I know how to use anyway. I put it on a boom arm and plan to use it for streaming.

This thing is the best mic Ive ever owned. The base lacks a little to be desired, but thats more of a preference. Sound quality and clarity is great, and the sound adjustments allow you to sit back from the mic and still communicate with your audience. No need for a pop filter with this one either. Quality is top notch as well.

I purchased this to use in combination with wired headphones for voice chat, video conferences, and a little bit of streaming and podcasting wearing headsets with dedicated mics made my neck hurt, so I wanted to go with much lighter weight headphones. I also wanted to have an extremely visible indicator as to whether or not the mic was live or muted. This definitely meets all of those needs when its live it is lit up bright red, which no one can miss if they walk into the room when I am on a call and the sound pickup is a massive upgrade over the integrated mics of the headsets I have used over the years. The only drawback of sorts is the fact that the microphone is quite large top to bottom without the stand is 9 inches, with the stand its closer to 11. If you go with this, definitely spend a few dollars for a boom arm to mount it on, so you can easily move it out of the way and its not just a huge paperweight on your desk when not in use.

I bought this mic because it is usb, and did not require a separate mixer or software to get up an running. Plug and play. The sound quality is great. The gain knob and mute are very easy and convenient to use. Overall a great product.

Was out of stock for a while, but finally got a chance to purchase this Was extremely excited when I received this. Ive received many compliments on Discord that my voice was extremely crisp and clear. Love how it looks and the touch less mute mic button. Yes, this mic has a touch less mute button. Highly recommended

I really enjoyed unboxing this product it was well packaged. Also box to use was very simple I was up and running in no time. I love the ability of having the dials for different sound pick ups and the volume. And the one tap mute button to turn on and off with the light is fantastic.

Sound is great on this, with four mic pickups. Cardiod and stereo work best for podcasts and video narration. A little low on volume have to turn volume setting up high. Good range and little popping due to windscreen. Some might find red lit mic distracting but I think it looks cool and you know IMMEDIATELY if the mic is on. Mute is extremely easy, you just tap the top lightly and red light goes out. Reliability on this seems better than the blue competition.

Initially I ordered a 60 dollar mic off Amazon and I also got this one and tested both of them to see which one I wanted more. And while theres a pretty hefty price difference between the two, this mic is just leagues beyond the 60 from Amazon. It sounds better, picks up less background noise, has a mute button, input control, and has different types of directional input to fit any need. So if you have extra money, you cant go wrong with this mic.

Every mic I looked at sounded amazing when YouTubers used it but when I get them they sound bretty bad. Even though the YouTubers werent doing any after effects or whatever. This mic though, sounds amazing right out of the box. My friends for the first time told me I sounded amazing so Im happy. Its worth it. Its also got a built in shock mount so that saves an extra buy. Get one.

Has 4 choices of microphone type in one with a useful switch knob at the back. Functions exactly as described. Great touchmute button on the top, popfilter already inside. Volume input sensitivity rotational at the bottom. Go look at a youtube review and figure out how amazing this is. 1010 for ASMR if thats your jazz.

This mic is great. There are multiple settings on the mic itself to allow for the four mics inside to be aimed in a specific way to allow for one person to talk into it, two people to talk into it, or a whole table of people. It comes with the attachment to allow it to be fixed to an arm which is a nice touch. The colors it produces are cool, but unnecessary. I personally really like the tap to mute feature. You just tap the top and light goes out indicating that its not active. Im overall very happy with this purchase.

This thing has all the bells and whistles and with the suspension system included I couldnt choose others like the yetis and so on when it comes to the price vs the value. Its a premium product that It comes with everything needed to get going for anyone new to streaming or that just wants to spice up there setup. If your a audiophile that wishes to tinker and uses different accessories for their mic setup I would recommend another mic.

The mic quality is awesome. The rgb on the mic itself is nice and bright. But not too bright whereas itll distract you because of good light diffusers. The mic is honestly an excellent choice for anyone who streams or for anyone who just wants a cool microphone. A thing I just want to mention the software for the mic itself tends to crash if you have software like Msi afterburner running on the background. So if you need to mess with the rgb feature make sure you turn off software like Msi afterburner off temporarily.

This is an amazing mic. It is easy to set up, the colors are very vibrant and the sound quality is great. It has one feature that youll have to get sued to as the top of the mic has a tap to mute function. If youre like me you are constantly sort of fingering the mic, which has resulted in me muting myself a couple of times lol.

Microphone provides quality audio and easy to use. The USB port is USBC to conform with new cables. The mute button is easy to use and has a visual confirmation as the lights turn off when muted. Works well for conference calls to minimize echos, background sounds and provide higher quality than webcams.Base still transfers solid desk contacts but overall typing is reduced. Pair it with free audio software to truly bring this microphone to life and improve the quality.

The convenience of having a headphone jack on the microphone can be extremely handy. Using headphones with this product allows you to hear how others would hear from their end. Having four different modes of audio intake as well as easy adjustment for sensitivity, you can adjust it accordingly to its surroundings.

I was looking for a great microphone that would be plug and play and that would not use XLR. This was the best option I came across after watching countless reviews, needless to say, the microphone is absolutely fantastic as are many other HyperX products. There is a builtin pop filter and shock mount which you will not find on many other microphones. Audio is crystal clear, also does not pick up any noise coming from directly behind it or to the sides when kept on cardioid mode.

Prior to purchasing this microphone, I was using a standard Corsair headset that got the job done but could have been better. I was between this mic and the AudioTechnica ATR 2500XUSB. I bought both to test them out and decided that I would keep the HyperX. Both of them are great mics and are many steps above the input quality than my Corsair was capable of.I use this microphone mainly for use in Discord voice chat, work meetings Webex, Zoom, etc. and it worked perfectly for what I need. The physical adjustments on the HyperX mic and the software are really what sold me on it. Gain control, Mute, and Polar Pattern are all controlable on the mic itself. This was not something that was available on the Audio Techncia mic. The software that was easily available and accessable on the PC for the HyperX mic. It is very user friendly and enabled me to do just about everything I wanted including the ability to turn off microphone monitoring if I had headphones plugged directly into the mic. This is the first HyperX product I have purchased, and based on my experience with it, it likely will not be my last.

This was a true Christmas surprise gift for a family member in college She says it was very easy to set up and she loves the colors she can change whenever she wants. The sound is greatThank you Best Buy for not only having such a hardtofind item this year but at a better than expected price. It was easy to pick up at my store as well

I only use this for discord and i think they sort of limit the quality of sound that others hear so this is overkill for something like that. However its still a great looking and feeling mic as well. Very high quality and come with an extra bracket if you want to mount it to an arm of some sort. The look is a little too gamery for me with it being black with red leds but cant complain because I knew what I was buying.

  193. blank

    CGFPP

Awesome mic. Plug and play without any need for additional software to run. Simple functionality and the red is a nive indicator of when the mic is muted or not. Used in my gaming setup. Built in pop filter is nice also. Im able to run the mic on cardiod mode with my game audio on my speakers loud enough to hear but not enough to cause a delay effect for others. As with other reviews or videos, its can also be used for streaming, podcasting, videos or whatever you can throw at it, however I cant speak on that since I dont use the mic for those things. While it is a bit more expensive and you can get a mic for way less, it is a solid mic and definitely well built, but if youre looking for just a mic and dont care about branding or whatver, this would definitely be overpriced for your needs.

Probably the best mic of its kind that you can get at the price point. You would have to pay significantly more for any real improvement. It is so beautiful, and I am always being told how clear I am when I am gaming or streaming. The built quality is amazing as well. Do not hesitate with this one

Received this mic super quick through pick up and the quality is AMAZING Absolutely worth the price and super easy set up Going to need a mic arm eventually because this mic tends to pick up a lot of little noises like keyboard clicks even after changing the sensitivity settings. But thats the only negative I can think of. The colors are bright, but it doesnt hurt my eyes at all. The tap to mute is also very convenient Overall super satisfied with this mic

I bought this for my 14yearold son. So far he loves it. He uses it to stream and play video games. The friends he plays with say it sounds clearer than the talking through a headset mic. It is easy to control the volume, mute and set up. The led light looks great.Oh, and customer service is easy to reach and deal with. We have a Hyper X headset and needed service. I could get them online for that repair, and again when asking which mic to buy.Over all We love it.

This was a great product to purchase, since all our meetings and gatherings have been via video web this helps my conversations sound loud and clear, and this is on a normal setting with me speaking at a normal tone. Its small so its not inconvenient and I love that it is lit when its on. Easy for me to know when Im muted or not.

It took about 3 days for this microphone to be delivered to me, which is great. The quality of this microphone is outstanding, considering its a usb mic. I can compare it to a XLR mic because of how great it is. Its features even top off how amazing this microphone is. I dont think I will ever buy an XLR mic knowing the HyperX Quadcast exists.

Its a very good mic, better than the mic on the standard laptop. Plus the controls on the mic make it easy to tweak. The best part is not just the quality of the sound but the button on the top of the mic which allows you to mute and unmute from the mic itself and a light which is evident that it is muted. It is the most convenient mic I have used. I have a Blues mic I bought from Best Buy at the same price but this is far better.
