This is a well constructed and excellent keyboard for gaming and general typing. The keys feel really nice to type on plus you can adjust their responsiveness via the downloadable Corsair iCUE software. What I really like about this keyboard over the earlier ones I owned from Corsair is just how bright the key LEDs are which makes it perfect for playing in a dark room. You can also tweak the lighting using iCUE and even have different effects such as wave or rainbow lighting when you type. Pricey but definitely worth it in my opinion. Feels like a keyboard that will last me years too.

The software iCUE (i think its called that) is a bit confusing, but after an hour of tinkering I think I understand how to use it. The board is nice, I was worried it would be more sensitive (and it probably is at 0.1mm) but I’ve got it set to 1.5mm and it feels perfect. by default I think it is set to 2.0mm. Happy I spent a bit extra on it, it feels premium. The real test will be whether this lives as long as I expect it to. My razer blackwidow tournament 2014 keyboard lasted me about 8 years before one of the keys started dying on me, so if this lasts me half that time, i’ll be happy. seems like it’s pretty future-proofed by all the specs it has, half of which I probably wont use. I’ve set polling to 2k instead of 8k because honestly 2k is plenty. all you need is that slight edge, if everyone is on 1k go to 2k, you know? EDIT: 2nd day owning it. I’m not sure if it’s me hitting keys by accident but twice it has happened where buttons i didn’t intend to press got activated. B key (maybe activated from pressing G) and a strange one… the enter key, when i was nowhere near it. I’m just noting this down incase the keyboard is defective. I’ll continue testing.

I’ve had several Corsair keybords in the past with my previous daily driver being a K70 RGB with Cherry Red switches. The new unit feels much sturdier (weighs more) and the keys feel lighter and are also quieter, although I didn’t mind the ‘clacky’ sound my old one made. I replaced it because (to me) my typing accuracy while not gaming seemed reduced and I was regularly getting double key-presses registering. This has vanished completely with the new unit although I do miss the additional USB port the previous version had. Using Corsair’s iCue software, as well as enabling the usual lighting effects, it’s also possible to fine-tune the trigger point of each key individually (although I haven’t delved into this yet so can’t comment on how well it works). My previous lighting colour schemes were carried over without issue and the only adjustment I had to make was to add a couple of additional lighting zones on the spacebar (3 on the new vs 1 on the old). The wrist/palm rest feels plush too. So, while certainly not the cheapest keyboard out there, this is the best I’ve used since I parted with my original IBM PS/2 unit 25+ years ago! Bought this as a replacement from my roccat vulcan aimo 121 as the keys was getting past it. The touch and feel of the keys on this is like nothing else, they can be re-mapped and customised to how ever you want and even change the actuation point to where you drop a feather and it will activate the switch or you can have a heavy key press if you wanted. As for the the sounds its very quiet when pressing keys soft or firm and has a nice thud when pressed with a soft feel. The quality is top tier with a sturdy metal frame and a lovey memory foam wrist rest (this is a bit firm to start with but after a week it softens up). Icue app is also very good and has loads of tools to give you the experience you want/need to get you through a work load or a tense gaming battle. It also allows you to have multiple proiles for any application with the ability to change the theme and application you want it for so its a seamless switch. It also comes with a custom space bar, esc key and a key cap puller included in the price which is brilliant for cross gen/brand keycaps as it has a industry standard + style key. Great product or thought it is on the high but its definitely worth the price for what you are getting. Would recommend this to any gaming enthusiasts or work from home people as its lovely to both game and type with. One person found this helpful

I’ve always used Corsair keyboards since the OG K70 and K65 RGB then the K70 mk.2 and now the K70 max. It’s a great keyboard it surprised me how good it looks in person the dark grey keys are a nice touch I was fairly dubious on these new magnetic key switches as I’ve always used cherry mx reds and somehow these feel similar but better, the key presses sound slightly more thonky than the mk.2 with reds which is always a plus. As always with the high end Corsair keyboards it feels solid and well built. One of the pluses to this keyboard is it has a detachable usb-c cable so you can get yourself custom cables to make your setup pop more. One person found this helpful

December 2024 Size Name: Full Size The keys feel incredible to use, very little friction and completely customisable activation points. The build is sturdy, the RGB effects very satisfying and I cannot overstate enough how comfortable the wrist rest is!
