I purchased this camera and it has lots of differnt settings that help me step up my photography and video skills. I really like the different features, like the 7 framess. This camera body is great for beginner DSLR owners looking to get more into professional photography. I would recommend for anyone that is willing to spend a little more for feautures and details that make a big difference.

I upgraded from an old EOS Rebel and this is such an improvement. Im finding it easy to use and am getting some excellent results. Im used to Canon cameras so the learning curve was not too steep. Generally very nice camera.

It was time to replace my T2. Bought this refurbished direct from Canon. I was looking at the 6D full frame as well. After reading all the specs, despite the APSC sensor, this coming in cheaper was clearly the better value. The two biggest sells in my case were the faster burst rate and the many, many more point AF system. The basic ISO, Fstop, Shutter speed were pretty easy to locate and manipulate on the fly. Because of the jump from my previous model, the learning curve on the rest of this feature rich camera was pretty steep. The more I use the camera, the more features I learn. The more features I learn, the more I want to use the camera. Its a vicious cycleIn short, my budget led me here Again, I was looking for a full frame sensor, and if cost hadnt been a factor Id have gone with one of Canons higher end professional models. The EOS 80D, while not having a full frame sensor, has a LOT more bang for the buck, came in cheaper than the cheapest full frame camera, and quite frankly I havent given the sensor size a second thought

Excellent entry into dslr video. Works superbly for video and still photos. Definitely a step up in build quality compared to my old T series Canon. Feels rock solid and light weight.

This bundle arrived ahead of schedule and complete as described. All the extras do help Many reviews have expressed on how cheap or how unnecessary the extras are, but keep in mind, when purchasing the camera alone, youre only paying for the camera that runs about 800 alone, so a couple of extra hundred, its not a bad deal to start with while you save up for better extras if really necessary. Everything excluding the tri pod fits in the back pack. The camera is a beast Its a great camera thats above the T6S and below the 7D Mark II. Not to heavy. This is my first camera so Im not gonna go into details, but for the most part, great deal, great camera, firm price Hope this helps.

I love this camera for video and photography work. The screen has the ability to flip out making it much easier to work with during video shoots. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for a cheaper yet professional grade camera.

This is a beautiful camera, takes amazing photos and awesome videos with dual pixel autofocus, this is the best in the price range and even better deal since it comes with a nice camera bag and sd card. This camera is for someone who wants the next step up from a beginner camera and is ready for professional results. I highly recommend.

I bought this to replace my EOS70D. Although Id been very happy with the 70D, the focus was sometimes slow and I wanted to use the 1.4x adapter with my 100400 for bird and wildlife photography and it would not autofocus on the 70D at F8.The 80D looks and feels just like the 70D and indeed is possibly a little lighter which means I can just concentrate on taking pictures. With more megapixels and more focus points the 80D is definitely a better camera and Ive been very pleased with the pictures so far. Battery life is also an improvement as well, even in our current cold and snowy conditions. For anyone looking to buy a sub1000 camera body only I dont think they could go far wrong with the 80D and, if buying a lens, Id suggest getting the 18135mm.

I am already an owner of the Canon 50D but I wanted to get a new camera by Canon that had more current features like WiFi and the movable touchscreen. Im very impressed with my new 80 D and its larger focus field. Having several lenses and attachments, I didnt really need everything that was included in the bundle pack but I thought it would be crazy not to get the bundle because it was actually less money ordering through Beach, and getting the bundle, than other sites that were only including the body of the 80 D. I was also very impressed at the ease of ordering and tracking of the shipment, which was actually FREE of charge Ill be ordering more from Beach Camera in the future too. sweepstakes
catman –
I bought his camera as a backup to my full frame 6D. It replaced my 60D which I really was happy with. The 80D has many of the features that were good on the 60D including tilt LCD screen which my 6D does not have. It shoots at 7 fps and is my go to camera for fast action aviation and sports action. My 6D I use for landscapes and primarily stays on my tripod. I like the video HD recording, wifi which I have only been able to connect to my iPhone and dual pixel sensor response. This is a fantastic camera and even think it compares favoriably to the 7D mark II other than a slightly slower burst rate capability.
PETER –
My experience with this lens is colored by the fact that I had to upgrade bodies at the same time, from a failing 70D to the 80 D with more sophisticated autofocus. My best experience in the few days I have had the lens was shooting california quail at short range. Using the car as a blind I got my sharpest shots ever of this bird. Later I took photos of a kestrel on a power line. Since they were hand held, many were not sharp, but the few that were looked better than any prior kestrel shots. It beats the Canon 400 f4 DO 1.4x teleconverter even though the latter has a bit more magnification.
teresa.b –
Awesome camera I work part time as a local sports photographer and this camera takes great action shots. With this lens you can take great close up shots and the ability to photograph family pictures also. Highly recommend this camera.

I love this camera Ive only used it for a few weeks, but Im impressed. The items that came with the bundle were items I needed. I do like the simplicity of the camera bag, which holds the camera and 3 lenses fine, however the handle is akwardky placed and hurts your wrist if you have a handful of stuff. The shoulder strap is fine. The tripod is questionable. I havent used it yet, but when I opened it up, one of the legs came out, and the plastic crank also came out. Ive not addressed this with Adorama either. The person I spoke with directed me to a used ultrasonic 300 mm lens whick I LOVE FAST focus. The combination feels good in my hand. Getting used to the focus grid from a Nikon to Canon is different, but Ill manage.Overall, Im very pleased. On the down side…I used Luminar to process raw, but Ill have to convert to jpeg first. I get a pink screen. More steps…Im sure theyll catch up.

I probably cant much about the 80D that readers here dont already know, and I havent had time in the few weeks Ive owned it to really put it through its paces. But so far, its great. Ive already made a couple of time lapse videos that were very easy to set up and shoot, and Ive captured some nice shots of a hummingbird in my backyard. Using a high shutter speed and high ISO setting, I could freeze the birds wings very nicely, and with a higher quality result than my older 40D could manage. As for the other items in the kit, they are nice if not amazing. As others have said, the tripod is so light as to probably be unusable in most circumstances. I have a much more substantial one for the very rare occasions I need one. The FlashPoint intervalometer I received was defective. Adorama promptly replaced it without requiring me to return the first one. Nice customer serviceThe SD card is a good, highspeed card.I havent had a chance to use most of the other items yet. I look forward to seeing if the camera bag will work for me.All in all, a great camera, and since the kit is essentially free, the whole package is a very good deal.

The improved CMOS processor with greatly extended ISO sold me on wanting to get this camera. If youre familiar with other Canon DLSRs, its a snap to figure out how to use it. There are minor differences power switch has moved, different battery and memory card form factor, so you have to replace all of your old gear if youre migrating from a Canon 50D like me. But its worth it. They dynamic ISO setting in manual mode is just amazing. Way more flexibility in low light. Highly recommended.
Mark –
This camera is awesome Ive been getting more into photography over the past 34 years using a Canon DSLR Rebel T3i. Ive been wanting a camera with more auto focus points and faster shutter speed. I was debating between the 5D and the 80D. I decided that since I am more of an enthusiast, and I dont want to spend 3000 on a new camera, plus more lens available for crop sensor cameras, the 80D was the best choice for me. I upgraded to the Canon 80D right after it came out and I personally think it is great. The image quality seems slightly better than the T3i, but the autofocus and focus points are much better. I dont do much video on my DSLR, but the little bit that Ive tried has great autofocusing.

I love my Canon so.much , its perfect for my amateur photography I use it almost every single day, for portraits as I have purchased Sigma art 1.4 lens it is my baby I also use it for landscapes and lots of other things totally reccomend it

I just purchase the Cam bundle a few days ago I received the box with everything else inside except the MOST important part the actual Camera. A little disappointed on that part, I wish I would have receive some kind of communication. Im sure the Cam will be good but the delivery already has me a little disappointed.

This camera was lost in Ohio on May 4th. I am in Michigan. I bought it on 6 easy pays…so QVC a few days ago gave me credit on my credit card for the first payment. I have NOT been able to contact QVC for over 2 weeks over this matter. No call, no email no satisfaction that they will not keep charging me for a camera that I never got. How can you do business like this This is an amazing camera…I bought it at Best Buy yesterday because QVC lost the one I bought from them. First time QVC let me down…and they still have not made it right.

Beautiful pictures Love the video easy wireless transfer. Light weight. It was an upgrade from a 40D so the features are overwhelmingly cool

My favorite camera I have ever owned so far. Great quality. Beautiful touch screen with a decent weight to it. It is a pretty expensive camera but definitely worth it if you have the money to spend and want great quality photos. Its beautiful thats for sure. I would recommend to anyone.
lorrainrowbotto0 –
Compared to my last dslr this is just amazing. The image quality is just beautiful and sharp, its lighter in weight, the vari angle screen makes it easy to capture candid shots. I am so pleased with this, I got a fantastic buy.

The 80d is a great camera. I shoot all kinds of subjects but its the canon colors that make the picture for me. Plus the 80d has a great touch screen and a flip out LCD which makes everything easier.
melanie.h –
I love this camera. I could take amazing pictures and it has a nice quality. When I bought mine, mine came with two lenses one normal zoom and one very zoomed in. It really allows me to take as many pictures as I want with an amazing quality. It even has other things like a DVD to show you how to do it.
mariah.e –
I love this camera honestly. It takes great images and even the video is awesome Ill be using this for my vlog soon and cant wait I enjoy this for photo shoots as well since thats what I originally purchased this for. Definitely recommend

I have owned Canon SLRs since the 80s and have previously owned a 30D and 40D. These were replaced with Rebel T2i, which served my wife and well, but I was tired of the slow FPS and glacial video focusing. I tried the 77D briefly, but hated the dim and small OVF, and returned it.The 80D, while large, has excellent ergonomics. The subject tracking and articulating touch screen are an awesome combination when shooting video. The 1855 mm kit zoom is light but not, of course, as sharp as my 24, 35 and 50 mm primes. As noted in reviews elsewhere, it is a wellthought out camera for stills and video. And as I already have modest investment in Canon glass, switching brands was not something I wanted to do.
bunejug101 –
A thoroughly feature packed DSLR. This is my 4th APSC camera body from Canon, and easily the best. Image quality is as good or better than my old 7Dm2, but with a smallerlighter form factor and an articulated screen, to boot The only recommendation that I have is to use a 1focal length 2 rule to determine the minimum shortest shutter speed for handholding without an image stabilized lens. It seems that the pixel density of this sensor 3.7um makes it noticeably more susceptible to motion blur. With good glass, I have to pixel peep to tell much of a difference between images captured at 100 ISO with my 80D vs my 5Dm3. Great job, Canon

Very user friendly and a bundle that has everything you need for most any pictures you will be taking. I like that is has some special lenses that give a round photo and the wide lens is awesome too. Also the bundle had a great sale price.

This is my first DSLR camera and couldnt be happier with it. This camera has so many features, too much for a beginner as some people would say. The video recording in itself is amazing. One good feature on it that i use a lot is the wifi that connects to the canon camera connect app. It lets you download the pictures directly to your phone and also you can live view from phone and control the shutter. The 18135 lens that came with it is really good. I did some landscape shooting and the pics look amazing. Highly recommend this camera to anyone. All in all, you get the most bang for your buck with this camera.

Everyone has to start somewhere. If you dont want to have to upgrade a week after learning a T series, this is the best place to start. The color theory that is built into these cameras is second to none. I wish they had slowmotion video framerates, but I do understand this is entry level prosumer. It is an amaing camera and will fit all EF Mount Lenses.
Johnny35 –
I bought this camera direct from Canon and it was for close up macro use . I did have a Canon dedicated lens for this . The one feature which I bought it for was the WIFI ability it was supposed to have . I tried in vain to connect it , viewed all the videos , followed all the instructions and no ability to connect to my pc , printer . I went to a Canon dealer locally , he could not do it . I called tech support they were unable to help me either . I am very frustrated as the very function that led me to by this is impossible to use . I am going to trade it in for another brand which is much more user friendly . When a dealer cant make the thing work the message should be make it SIMPLE …

The 80D is a fantastic, well rounded, and versatile camera. Even in a time when technology is leading camera manufactures to a future of mirrorless cameras with electronic viewfinders EVF, this DSLR is an excellent choice for enthusiast. Mirrorless cameras are without a doubt the future of digital photography, and even though there are already excellent products out, that future is still being developed. In the meantime, this tested technology continues to prove it is an excellent way of getting excellent imagesand the 80D is an great example of that. I highly recommended.

Let me just start by saying this camera is a workhorse. I switched over from a D3200 which I used for 5 years. I have been really happy with my decision. Video on this camera is amazing. I shoot 24fps at 1080p and it delivers amazing quality video. The dual pixel auto focus is crisp and on point. If you are an amatuer trying to perfect the world of video this is a great place to start. The user interface is easy to use and convenient. Great quality product for this price. I wasnt ready to drop the money on a full frame that yielded similar results so this was a great option for me.If I had to list the pros they would be Dual pixel auto focus. Great user interface. Ability to take amazing pictures as well as video. Flip out touch screen. All around workhorse of a camera.Cons Would have loved to see 1080p at 120fps. I wish it had the option for dual SD cards.Honestly if you are looking for an affordable APC sensor camera that can capture awesome photos as well as videos without breaking the bank I would recommend checking this camera out. I made the switch to Canon and wont be looking back. The next thing I want to do is add some glass to my kit. Thinking of going with the 50mm 1.8 first. Might buy the portrait travel kit that comes with both 50mm 1.8 and 1018mm.

Ive been in photography for over 35 years with my first film camera when I was ten. Since then Ive got a few film point and shoot cameras and an SLR. I entered the digital photography with a Canon IXUS 400 back in 2002 and since then I was upgrading to almost exclusively Canon cameras with better features because of their ease of use and their image quality compared to similar cameras of other brands. Still, I was never very passionate about photography, until I purchased my first DSLR, Canon EOS 700D in early 2014. When I saw the difference in quality of even a APSC sensor vs any other camera that I owned so far, I never left it at home and I started learning more and more about photography engaging the internet at its best and of course by practicing a lot I purchased the Canon EOS 80D in June 2016, when I found that the 700D was limiting me in some aspects and I wanted to get a better camera. The EOS 80D is a big leap ahead of the 700D in every aspect Im really enjoying shooting with it, especially after I combined it with some really good lenses Sigma 1835mm f1.8 ART, Sigma 70200mm f2.8 and Tamron 2470mm f2.8 G2. Im really excited by the results with the 80D and these lenses, even for enlarged prints The only drawback when using 3rd party lenses is that you lose the dual pixel AF in live view and on video. It works in the beginning of focusing to tell the lens which direction it should start turning, but then it switches back to contrast AF for the rest of the focusing process. I wish there would be a firmware update to fix that but I highly doubt it…

I got my package two or three days after I placed the order. I was very surprised by how fast the delivery was. Everything looks fantastic, nothing was damaged or missing. Love my new camera
Bumberclart101 –
Bought this camera as an upgrade from a 700D and it really is a significant step up. The difference in results when paired with a 300mm f4 1.4x TC lens for wildlife photography has been startling and can only imagine it to be equally impressive with other lenses. The number of autofocal points makes tracking birds in flight incredibly easy. I see one particular reviewer has complained about the battery life it far exceeds the performance of the 700D battery and third party supplementary batteries can be purchased inexpensively. For note, it is worth considering the write speed of your SD cards for quicker previewing on the viewfinder. Excellent for videos too and the wifi feature is an added bonus. Thoroughly recommended.

First, its a really great camera, especially for indoor and low light photography and videography. Autofocus is fast and precise, the high ISO performance is impressive. But Im not sure if I would recommend it for outdoor shooting because it seems to struggle a bit with light and color metering in more difficult conditions if I compare it to my other camera which is a full sensor DSLR. Maybe its just my problem and I need a bit more practise. In conclusion, Im quite happy with the camera.

This is a dual service camera for me. I bought it primarily for the crop sensor in order to extend the reach of my Sigma 150600 and secondarily as a back up to my 5D Mark IV.The 1.6 crop factor allowed me to spend to get 960mm at f6.3 with 24 MP which beats spending for a Sigma 800mm to match up with my 5D. I even its not as fast as the 800, I get an extra 160mm while saving and several pounds in gear weight. The images are crisp and clean and the 80D has many of the features of my 5D. You just have to dig a little deeper into the menu to find them. As a back up to my 5D, Im only losing 6MP.The crop factor is only an issue if Im shooting landscapes, but I have an Irix 15mm, which on the 80D becomes 24mm, so it still works for that purpose.Bottom line great camera, high enough pixel count to back up the 5D at less than a third the price with extra reach for my long lens.

So the camera came just as advertised all the components were there as described. However,,. The add did not specify the make of the Telephoto lenses 500mm and 6501300mm they are Vivitar. And there is no adapter to attach them to the camera. Going to have to fend for ourselves on that I guess. If it werent for that small BIG item I would have given it 5 stars. 52218 update So I called them today and spoke to them about the adapter. The guy said it should be included. After searching all the boxes again I still found no adapter. I called them back and they are now sending me the adapter. I also ordered a second one from them so I dont have to interchange the adapter to use both lenses. I would recommend having bother lenses with adapters as the Vivitar mount can easily cross thread. Putting it on once and keeping it on is the best option. Great camera though.

First off QVC is great, I now buy almost all my Tech items from QVC, they always seem to have what I am looking for. So thank you QVC, Second, Their Customer Service is outstanding Very polite very professional and always helpful Thank you Customer Service. Now to the camera, if you are looking for a top of the line camera at a great price this is the one to get, built in WiFi works great, very sharp pictures, great auto focus and the live view is one of the best ever. Not to mention the Video you get out of this camera. Everyone is complaining about no 4K, but the HD 1080p is so good youll never miss having 4k.Also, by the battery grip for it not really need it, but it helps hold the camera vertical with the buttons needed. So, Zoo here i come. you will be happy with the pictures, the video and the build of the camera, it does not feel like a cheap camera at all, it is solid comfortable and yes, even has a point and shot mode if you just want that easy more to use.

This camera is my life I love my canon 80d so much. I travel a lot and love taking pictures and this camera is perfect for that It has great quality and is super easy to use I would definitely recommend it to people who are trying to get into the photography world and want a step up their quality.

Camera and stuff are really nice except the tripod is to weak to handle the camera w any lens. The rest of the stuff you get with this package is just canon farter. Just cheap crap to get you to buy it. I fell into the trap and wish I had looked around better. Cameta Camera is the store it came from good thing Walmart is part of this purchase. I will take it back to them and get a different set up. Cost me my time but I dont think Cameta Camera cares about making this right.. Maybe, we shall see. If they do then Ill change my review.

Phenomenal camera, just wow. I have owned multiple DSLR cameras before this one but none hold a candle to the 80D. Beautiful manual mode, great for action or nature shots. I love the camera, it is always reliable and very hardy, it has been around the world with me many times and I have never had a single issue with it. A great camera for a beginner, intermediate, or pro photographer.

I just bought this lens after returning one that was a longterm loan from a friend. I have owned and used the EF 24105mm f4 IS for the last four years, paired with 6D and 5D mark III fullframe cameras and generally was not a big fan of the 24105. It wasnt bad, but as someone who usually shoots with prime lenses, I just found it not up to the standard set by my Canon primes 35mm f1.4 L mark II, 50mm f1.2 L and 100mm f2.8 IS L Macro. The 24105 was also heavier and larger, and for me served mainly to cover 24mm and for nonphotography oriented travel. The 2470mm f4 is noticeably smaller and lighter, its macro mode is useful, if not equal to a true macro lens, but most important to me is that at 24mm there is very little distortion. It is so good at 24mm that when taking a full kit, I engage the zoom lock and just think of it as a 24mm prime, and one that is smaller and lighter than the 24mm f1.4 L mark II and not much larger than the 24mm f2.8 IS , which are the two lenses I was considering to complete my Canon outfit. As a 24mm wideangle with benefits, this lens is a great compromise. An f1.4 lens would give me better lowlight performance and of course better control over depth of field, which are why the 24mm f1.4 is still on my wish list, but this is an excellent alternative to the 24mm f2.8 IS. Unlike a 24mm prime, however, I can easily attach this lens to my camera and be reasonably sure that I can cover just about anything. For serious photography I still prefer primes and likely always will. My 35mm f1.4 Mk II is, by far, my favorite lens. What this lens does, however, is lets me take a DSLR with a single lens to a family event and not even think about carrying a camera bag with me when I go out for the day.

I had been using a Canon T5i for the past few years and wanted to take my photography to the next level. I am so happy with the 80D. It is definitely a step up and seems on par with its more expensive full frame cousins. This camera in my opinion requires a bit more experience to use than my T5i. I especially love the 7 frames per second since I shoot a lot of wildlife that is usually on the move. Ive also used it once to take some video and it produced a very nice product. Using the directional arrows to advance images is a little quirky, but given all the positives, I can live with that, plus there are other ways to look at your pictures other than the directional arrows. I definitely would recommend this camera to anyone who may be considering it.

In a professional photographers hands, this tool is a beast. It does everything well and better in more cases than not. Once you shoot photo or video with this LCD screen, it will be hard to go back with enthusiasm to anything that doesnt have this among many other features. Yes its not full frame. Neither is the Canon C100. It has more than you need and you can get a full frame camera affordably to go with this. But I bet youll pick THIS bad boy up first. Its simply the most funperdollar DSLR from Canon.

The camera body was purchased for 730 which was an awesome deal. However, likely might indicate it is close to being discontined. But many prominent resellers are still selling bodyonly for 999 or just under. Kits with hohum 1655 mm lenses are still being sold for 1399. Buy the bodyonly instead, and grt the lens of your choice I bought a Sigma 18250 mm at Newegg for 269.95

I got this camera bundle, along with a separate Canon 75300mm lens, because I desperately needed to upgrade my camera. The camera itself works excellently. I love how much I can control the image to what I want, and it takes great quality pictures. The two lenses I got also work extremely well. Most of the included items work correctly as well. The wireless remote was a little finicky at first, but Im willing to attribute that to user error. I have two major gripes about included items 1. The slave flash does not work. If I put it on the cameras hot shoe, it doesnt fire, period. My camera tells me the flash is incompatible. When I put the flash in slave mode on the bracket, it only fires every fifth shot and even that is a bit of a tossup, regardless of what slave setting is active. The builtin flash is much brighter than I expected, so I should be able to make do with that, but its annoying that the bundle includes a flash that wont work with this camera. Ive searched a little online, and it appears this is not an isolated incident, which begs the question why this bundle includes a flash that inherently wont work. 2. The 2.2x telephoto attachment works, but it makes the image all cloudy. The first four pictures below were taken from the same position within seconds of each other. Picture 1 is 75mm WITHOUT 2.2x, and picture 2 is 75mm WITH 2.2x. Picture 3 is 300mm WITHOUT 2.2x, and picture 4 is 300mm WITH 2.2x. As you can see, it zooms correctly, but the image gets all fuzzy. This is not due to the window or reflections thereupon. The attachment did this right out of the box, and I cant find any stains or blemishes on either end of it. I dont know if I just got a bad unit or if this is common. Fortunately, the 300mm zoom lens itself is a great zoom, so that alone should suffice, but as with the flash, its annoying that the bundle includes something that doesnt work in the first place. Those are my only complaints. This review would be five stars if not for those two malfunctioning accessories. As I said before, the camera itself is amazing, and I still feel I made a good purchase. It has allowed me to take much better pictures, like the fifth one below. Im very pleased with the camera and the lenses. I hope this review was helpful.

Received the camera, however, it is defective. A message pops up in the screen stating that an update is needed. Contacted Canon and they stated that they have never seen this and that the camera is defective and to return it. However, the window for returns through Walmart.com expired. Now have a worthless camera that I spent over 800.00 on.

The 80D is great Received just a few days prior to 12 day trip planned for Maine. The camera is such an upgrade from my 60D. I like the touch screen and HDR settings. My photos are really turning out nicely. I have over 1000 on day 6 of our trip. The lens is great also. The focus is fast and both operate quietly. I did have to order a new lens hood and it arrived at home after we left for this trip.I miss having that and have some sun spots to deal with. I was not thinking about my old lens hood being a different size.
SBPCEAP –
This bundle packed the most valuable items for the cost, compared to most other bundles. The items were supposed to be shipped in two weeks from 33rd St. Photo, but instead arrived in only two days Instead of just extra bags, cheap lens cleaners, etc. this bundle had valuable lenses two OEM Canon lenses, and two powerful telephoto lenses from Vivitar. The Vivitar lenses needed an adapter purchased separately that only cost 7 in order to mount them on the Canon EOS 80D camera body. It was kind of silly not to include the cheap adapter you only need one in the bundle Opteka Canon Tmount. I am not an expert but a student of photography, but so far this package exceeds almost any need I can think of

Although this camera came out in 2016 it is still excellent quality 24 MP and utilises DIGIC 6 processing technology. It also boasts the 45 point, dual pixel, autofocus system. In addition it has a weather sealed body and can attain 7 fps for the sports oriented photographers. If you want video then this camera can go to 108060 video capture rate. I upgraded from a 70D 20.2 MP and the battery grip BGE 14 for that also fits this camera. So no added expense there. The 90D may appear this year but that only promises a 65 point AF system with improved DIGIC processing but the cost will be high. So why wait if you are upgrading. Newcomers may find cheaper Canon alternatives. I have many Canon lenses, EF and EFS, so this fits nicely into my armoury. Highly recommended.

Im coming from a Canon 20D. This is a huge leap forward. The autofocus is greatly improved. The touch swivel screen I had always chalked up as gimmicky is actually awesome, not necessarily the swivel part but the touch input. I had a little getting used to using higher ISO settings but theyre pleasantly usable under the right conditions. Once MagicLantern is developed for it, it might actually shoot decent video as well. Though for now this stays as a hobby photo only camera.

I am a motorsports photographer, mainly dirt track racing. I wanted an upgrade from my old Rebel t5i. I have only taken this 80d out once but, it far out performed my old camera, and I didnt have to over spend. I attached some photos from my first night at the track with this camera. All low lightnight.

DSLR as the name suggests is an excellent camera. It has interchangeable lens. Picture quality is so good. I used to use my phone for taking pictures earlier but the picture quality was not good when you open those pictures on laptop or get it printed. Post buying DSLR, I was able to get so many pictures printed. Picture quality and results are evidently visible.

The Canon 80D sits near the top of a large number of entrylevel DSLRs that Canon makes. It has a 1.6x apsc crop sensor, the same size as that found on Canon Rebel cameras and Canons more advanced 7D series. The 80D is the successor to the Canon 70D, adding a newer sensor and more advanced autofocus capabilities.

I do mostly nature and wildlife photography. I upgraded from a 70D to the 80D to get the full frame view finder and the higher resolution. It is a great camera. Love the flip out LCD and the touch screen. Picture files are big and take longer to upload, but they are nearly 16 X 25 inches out of the camera. The only negative is the AFON button is to recessed into the camera body and is hard to press. This was true on the 60D and 70D as well. Other than that it is a great camera.

Its my first DSLR camera. Before that Ive used Canon G11 and sometimes I got excellent pictures. But this device is incomparably better than all the cameras that I know. It works as described and much better. All modes and function work very precisely and very convenient to operate. The quality of pictures are fantastic.Im very satisfied this camera also the price of it and the lens.

I was up in the mountains of East Tennessee for a family vacation and on the second day my Canon 60D started displaying error codes and then failed completely. Been using it for 5 years and it has received a lot of hard knocks. Ive been looking at the 80D for a while as a possible upgrade so drove to the top of the mountain ridge where I could get a cell signal and ordered one from Amazon next day delivery. The family does a lot of skiing wakeboarding and the new camera captured some unbelievable action shots of course Im using quality stabilized Canon lens. Very happy with my decision to purchase.

I got this at a very good price, still new with USACanadian warranty. I am an old Nikon user, but the latest Nikon offering 7500 lacked some personally important features that the 80D had. It has many features, but is still laid out very well and with a little study is clearly understandable, With a lens adapter, I can still use my old Nikon lenses with Aperturepriority or manual mode. Thats how I usually shoot. The 18135 zoom, while not as good a prime lens, is likely the best kit lens Ive seen. Extremely satisfied with it. It is a few bucks more than the smaller 1880 kit lens, but I think is clearly worth the money in quality. The camera plus lens is on the heavy side. Note Ive had this item for only 3 weeks, but am very pleased.

Definitely a step forward but thats about it.. Auto focus is amazing. The newly added intervalometer is a big plus. Images are very sharp as expected. The menu is straight forward and fairly easy to use. If youve used a Canon in the past youll feel right at home. Battery life is excellent. Articulating touch screen is quite useful. Overall the camera feels very durable and feels correct in ones hands. Video I feel, that for the price point the 80D should, at the very least, have 2.7k Video at 6029.9724 fps. I dont feel that having 4k, with only a low frame rate 29.97 would be as much value as 2.7k. Meaning, that if Canon were to have included 4k it would have been a lowend 4k and therefore not have been as usable as having 2.7k at 6030 fps same aspect ratio as 4k 1080p giving you the ability to scale or crop your video down to 1080p or for publishing at 1080p2.7k, very doable and quite usable.. Shame on Canon.. This was an easy video feature for Canon to add.. Hence the 4 Star GOOD rating..

I just became a proud owner of a Canon 80D last Sat 11th August, 2018. I love everything about it thus far. I am interested in becoming a professional photographer, and I feel this camera can lead me to it as a beginner. Im known for always wanting to take pictures catch the moments etc. my kids even said nice you get do something you love doing but in my opinion…better Im learning settings but for now Ive been shooting on Auto…..I asked myself…What best way to test my new camera than taking pictures of your own babies …here are my best shots for my twins first birthday

Just facts that Ive reminded first.Pros Very handy except selecting the focus points, and exposure Great focus.Battery life is great 700 shots avg.Wifi functions, IR controls. USM lens are Incredibly fast to focusCons Low dynamic range A lot of hot pixels 20 on long exposures For some reason with 40mm pancake have to set focus to 7. But it is ok in Live view mode. Other 3 lens I own are more less OK. No 4k or at least 120 frames video.

I bought this camera almost a year ago and have only found a few minor problems that I was able to fix. The main problem I had was I kept accidentally adjusting the exposure comp. value and ending up with over or underexposed pictures. This problem was easily fixed by locking the quick control dial. The lens that comes in this kit is also very nice. It is my main lens I use and rarely find it lacking. I also have a 55250 is STM which is a good companion lens to the 1855 is stm in this kit. Both lenses have a quiet internal focusing AF system with full manual override at any time. The case, filters, and card reader do their job well, but theres nothing extraordinary about them. The cleaning kit is probably pretty basic as well, but it is VERY nice to have and works very well.I havent downloaded the software because I dont really need it.

Superb image quality over my previous Canon 60D. Easy and intuitive controls and menus to use. Body is comfortable in the hand and camera does a great job with Canon Flash units. Best of all, the Digic 6 processor gives natural color results.

I bought this camera less than a month ago along with the EF 100400mm IS Mk2 lens. After very minimal use to dateand approximately 500 shots Ive encountered a very annoying problem. The camera freezes while make adjustments e.g. changing exposure compensation, selecting a focus pointpattern. The result is no response to any button operation even turning the camera off and on again makes no difference. The battery MUST be removed and reinstalled before camera responds again. This happened twice within about 5 minutes. I am using all genuine items such as lens, battery and Extreme Pro UHII 35Gb card. Chances are I will have to return this camera and be without one while it gets sorted.Researching on the web shows the problem existed as far back as April 2016.

I had an old Rebel xTi, and I decided to upgrade. I had been reading about different cameras and finally decided for the Canon 80D I was between the 80D and the 7D Mark II, specially because of the autofocus plus touchscreen. It is less heavy than I thought, and the images are amazing. I am into wildlife photography, and it has work really well for me. Really fast focus depending on the lens though, easy to use, and the videos look really good.

I have been anticipating to get this camera for years when I had the money. I was not so excited to going to Best Buy and buying it with a lens and sometimes if the promotion was running, a videography attachment for 1,499 tax. The fact that Walmart is selling just the body makes Best Buy seem like they are trying to hype up the camera with such a GREAT OFFER, but the fact of the matter is, this is the best SAFE offer you will find. You can get a cheap used lens from other people that sell near you on those selling apps. Unfortunately, you should not try to buy a used camera. Walmart shipped it out and got to my location within a week, which it is pretty crazy that it got there at that time since it told me it would take 3 weeks. Lastly, the warranty is the best for your buck, for 4 years, you only pay 100. Try like 300 for 2 years at Best Buy, something obscure around that price range.I was very iffy getting an expensive camera from Walmart, but they honestly saved me 500. I then went to Best Buy to buy a Bag for my camera and equipment and walked out laughing because theres no way the kit lens that comes with it at Best Buy is worth 500 600.One last thing that is cool, you put a review on the camera after you get it, Walmart will send you a table mount for free and lens cleaner, so hopefully, that will be the case after not making a review for 3 months of having it.

I replaced my reliable 60D, with this camera. There are way more features built into the 80D, maybe more than most of us will utilize over time, but Ive come to really love this version. The availability of multiple autofocus points is tremendous, and gives the user awesome flexibility. The creative filters are really fun to work with, and expands the versatility of this camera. Ive had this camera nearly a year now, experimenting as I go, and really finding out what this camera can do…I believe there are endless possibilities, and the quality of my photographs is awesome

I have been a Canon fan since high school days too many years ago. I replaced my T5i with this camera and could not have been happier. I have owned and used this camera for over a year taking it on many trips to photograph nature, mainly wild birds. I have never been disappointed with any of the pictures I have shot with this camera. Auto focus is fast and perfect all the time. I hardly ever shoot in the auto or P mode but usally set my ISO and shutter speed depending on the cirucumstances and have always had great pictures. The touch screen for changing settings rapidly is great and the ability to check and change settings by looking at the screen on the top right of the camera while shooting is fantastic. Over all this is the best camera I have owned.

I absolutely love this camera. I ate Ramen for a month in China just so I could buy it… Which probably wasnt the greatest on my health, but hey, I got a really nice camera that takes amazing pictures. A bit bulky but what do I expect carrying around a camera and multiple lenses.

I recently decided it was time to park my trusty 40D and move up to something more current, and the 80D has not disappointed. The controls are a little different than those of the 40D, but its still a Canon, and the layout and operation seems pretty logical. For night photography the high ISO options are great, and the sensor doesnt produce as much noise as I expected. The rear screen can be adjusted for selfportraits or for filming at odd angles, and it also comes in handy for adjusting shots of low growing flowers when shooting macro. The sensor is not fullframe, and it doesnt quite perform like the best Canon models, but its more than adequate for 99.9 of photographers. Most kit zooms only offer half the range I need for everyday photos. I love the 18135 lens because it has the focal range to make it a truly useful lens for most needs. Yes, I have a couple of L lenses, but they are not quite as handy as this lens for photos at family gatherings or daily events.

I have been using a Canon EF up until 4 years ago. I have a few Canon SX Models so this is my first digital SLR. The rich features and the set of lenses that came with the kit made a great starting point. I used the camera coupled with a Cadioptric lens to photograph the eclipse and it worked like a charm. 39 years ago my EF and I went to N Dakota in February to photograph that eclipse so this was a logical progression to this modern camera. I love the heft and stability that it brings added to the IS function within the lens makes the pictures that much sharper. I am still learning the features but loving every minute of it.

First of all, the package came well protected without a scratch. This was my second DSLR and I couldnt have used my money to buy anything better. The vibrance of all colors in the camera is breath taking. I ordered a nifty fifty to go with mine but the 18mm135mm kit lens that I got with the camera is amazing very useful. It comes in very handy in many situations. I was really surprised by how good the quality of the image is with a kit lens. Hands down one of the best investments ive ever made.

It sports a new 24MP APSC CMOS sensor which, like the 70D, offers Canons Dual Pixel onsensor phasedetection autofocus system. The 80D also gains a new 45point hybrid AF system with all of the points being crosstype. This is a step up from the 19point AF system in the 70D, though not quite at the same level as the 65point coverage offered by the more professionallyoriented 7D Mark II. Featuring a body sealed against dust and moisture, the 80D has a polycarbonate exterior and magnesium alloy chassis. It is nearly identical in design to its predecessor, with the majority of controls accessible via the articulating rear touchscreen, as well as via physical control points. Video is a major part of the 80Ds total package. While it cannot shoot 4K, it does offer 108060p capture and continuous autofocus during video. A headphone socket has been added to compliment its microphone port. Canon EOS 80D key features 24MP APSC CMOS sensor with Dual Pixel AF 45point AF system with all crosstype points 3 1.04Mdot articulating touchscreen 108060p video capture 7 fps continuous shooting with AF Weatherresistant body 7560pixel RGBIR Metering Sensor WiFi NFC Other improvements come in the form of a new mirror vibration control system similar to the 5DS and 7D Mark II, which should help reduce the blurinducing effects of shutter shock. The 80D also gains the same 7560 pixel RGBIR metering sensor found in the Rebel T6s and T6i, a serious improvement over the 63zone dual layer sensor found in the 70D. This new sensor gives the camera some degree of human subject awareness for subject tracking through the viewfinder. However, unlike the 7D Mark II, the 80D does not have Canons Intelligent Tracking and Recognition iTR system, which uses the metering sensor along with distance info to subject track. The new sensor Its no secret that some Canon shooters have been frustrated as of late, as Sonys sensor technology marches ahead in terms of dynamic range. Fortunately, the 80D marks a significant step forward in Canons sensor development, offering much better DR than the 70D or 7D Mark II. But the new sensor isnt interesting just because of the pictures it can capture. Dual Pixel AF not only allows for continuous focus during video capture, but during still capture in live view mode as well. We first saw this feature in the Rebel T6s and it is exciting to see it now making its way up Canons food chain to enthusiastlevel cameras. It uses a slightly lower resolution chip and offers less dynamic range than the 80D. While the two share the same basic video specs, the 7D Mark II is better equipped for fast action, thanks to greater AF point coverage, a dedicated AF joystick and the inclusion of Canon iTR, as well as a faster shooting rate. On the other hand, the 80Ds touch focus capabilities make it a more appealing choice for video. Of course the full frame Canon 6D now falls into a similar price class to the both the 80D and 7D Mark II, making it worthy of consideration. Although its far from new the 6D remains a solid and popular camera despite its comparatively simplistic AF system. Accessories The 80D shown with PZE1 Power Zoom Adapter connected to the EFS 18135mm F3.55.6 IS USM kit zoom. This adapter allows for smooth zooming at variable speeds. It can clip onto the new EFS 18135mm f3.55.6 IS USM kit lens and control the zoom, with two speed options. The DME1 will sell for 250, while the PZE1 will run you 150. I have enjoyed this camera but will be giving it away and looking for something with a better firmware design. It takes about 7 clicks to do anything EXCEPT format your SD card and lose an entire trips Work… Regrettably, that takes just one light, accidental press and goodbye everything.Thats the product of having nonphotographers design firmware.

This is probably on a higher end scale of cameras for beginners. This is actually my very first DSLR camera. Its packed with great features and the quality is far above the rebel series. As a techy kind of guy, I love that I can wirelessly send photos right to my phone to use throughout social media or even share photos via airdrop once on my phone apple user. I picked up a handful of lenses to cover a wide range of zoom. Also great for youtube video production since it has the flipout screen.

Let me first state that this is a FANTASTIC camera for YouTube, vlogging more specifically. The loss of 4K is made up by incredibly accurate autofocus during video. I mainly shoot video, but it is also a beast in the sense of photography. I have two 80Ds in my house. The weather sealing is also important to me, and it works. The traditional Canon interface makes it easy for almost anyone to learn their way around it. The prices on lenses also make it easy to gravitate to Canon naturally anyway. I also own a Canon G7X Mark II, as well as a GoPro Hero 5 Black, but the amazing quality of the 80D makes me forget about the weight when vlogging, compared to the G7Xs nearly weightless body of 11oz. All of the Manual controls and freedom to customize your camera is amazing, whatever your styles may be with the 80D you can make it your own camera. Also, the touch and articulating screen. This is GOLDEN if youre vlogging. You need this feature 100. Finally, battery life is really good on this camera. After a full day of shooting and reviewing media in playback, I only go through 1 12 to 2 batteries. Say goodbye to buying 5 Sony batteries If you buy this product and you give it a shot, I guarantee that you will love it. Whether its the autofocus, 1080p60 slowmo, burst rate of 7fps, or manual options, youre going to love it.

If your a youtuber and your looking for a good 1080p at 60fps camera this is the one to get. If youre not a pro photographer or would rather avoid the expense of a fullframe camera, a model such as Canons EOS 80D, with a 24.2MP APSCsized CMOS sensor, represents one of the best combinations of performance versus cost. In this case, you get enough resolving power to make prints larger than 11×14 inches fast bursts of 7 frames per second for up to 110 large, fine JPEGs or 25 RAW frames before the buffer fills and a 45point phasedetect autofocus system as well as Canons innovative Dual Pixel CMOS AF for live view and video shooting. Shutter speeds as fast as 18000 sec and sensitivity up to ISO 25,600 help tackle challenging shooting environments, while the 63zone, 7,560pixel metering system helps you get a proper exposure.

I wanted to buy a lens which I can leave on the camera most of the time and capture great images with. The standard zoom lens was missing in my collection as I shoot mostly with primes and a telephoto L zoom lens so I decided to do some research. After deciding that the 2.8ii would be too expensive and the 24105 being too outdated I then proceeded to look at the 2470 F4 IS. The new F4 IS seems to fit my needs perfectly a small but high quality zoom thats built to a high standard along with a useful macro mode. After buying the lens and taking some photos with it in the field I can safely say that this lens delivers in terms of overall color, contrast, sharpness, etc. It is a bit softer wide open at 50mm but its not a deal breaker and is still highly usable. Recommended without reservations.

Well if this isnt a great deal I dont know what is. You get over 2k worth of the highest quality imaging equipment for way cheaper. I had spent weeks sourcing gear and it would have cost me a fortune to purchase all of this individually. All the equipment is high quality with the minor exception of the tripod stand its a bit flimsy. But thats ok I had intentions of purchasing another anyways. Worth the buy and the camera operates flawlessly I love the 80D.

When I started in photography there was only film been lots of changes. I owned and used different camera makes including another Canon. I REALLY like this one The mechanicals, and feel are very good for me. It focuses fast and the shutter feel, and locations of shortcut buttons, is very comfortable. I have owned it for only a couple months but so far it has been very reliable. It isnt a pro level camera, like the Mark class, but is close, and feels like it.

The package came in brand new and on time with the camera, batterycharger, camera strap and the 1855 mm lenses. This camera works very well Even though it is almost 3 years old, it still has amazing features, excluding the camera not being able to record in 4K. It has high quality 60 fps recording, but you cant take photos while recording. The price with lenses is also very good as you can get the same thing for about 200. Overall, this is a great DSLR for SemiProEnthusiast photopgraphers and videographers. I recommend it with a camera score of an 8.510.

This is a big step up for me into a much more current camera from my old 20D. I am still getting used to all the features and functions, but my first shoot was a one time chance where failure was not an option. My youngest son was proposing to his girlfriend as a surprise and I am not sure if he was more nervous, or if I was. Anyway, it came off great with both video footage and stills all looking great. Works smoothly with all my current glass, very happy with the purchase.

If I was given the choice, I would buy this product in a heartbeat. Im not a big 4K Person, so 4K doesnt bother me. I would have, though, liked to have the choice of ALLI 1080p at 60fps for better mastering and color rendering in postproduction. The 80D is capable of using SDXC cards that go up to 104MBs, and since even ALLI 1080p30 only uses 90Mbs about 11MBs, there would be no problem if larger, faster cards 64GB and larger UHS1 Class 3 cards would enable an ALLI 60fps mode that would be 180Mbs about 22.5MBs. This would improve the overall video quality of 1080p, provide a higherquality master source for social mediabased persons to make YouTube videos with without spending 3kplus for the 5D Mark 4, and with the advent of 30MBs becoming a new minimum write speed for many highperformance cards the SD Association recently released V30 as a new standard, 1080p 60 ALLI should become a reward for buying a highspeed, highcapacity card. I wish Canon would update their 1755 f2.8 for a new generation of highresolution APSC sensored cameras and included that with the kit instead. Other than that, this is a spectacular camera and the 1855 kit lens is no slouch either. Its earned a spot on my old T2i as a backup lens, and is EXTREMELY sharp on it.

Every filmmaker, understands a new storys journey has to be documented carefully with the resources available at the time. Many of us, have to find creative ways to do more with less. And it is, precisely, in that unwritten … unscripted moment, that all of the sudden, a little … magic … has happened. The story simply continues to move forward naturally, and the filmmaker, now reflects on what has just happened with a little smile. And … I am so glad, Adorama and Canon, were part of that moment of … magicMay 2017 brings many opportunities for every filmmaker within The Known Universe to shine Amen

Bought the open box with the 18135 USM.Packing seemed to be in near perfect condition. Its hard to tell shutter count on the 80D since its no longer on the EXIF data. But file numbering started at 1 and is now 140ish. There is a shutter count under battery info that reads 150ish.. if thats the real count then its pretty much brand new.Delivery was fast as always and shipped earlier than expected even with their holiday closing.Moved over to the EOS landscape from Nikon. The 80D seems way better laid out than my older, although a series down D5000. Lots more features and will take me some time getting it organized but setting rawjpeg and start shooting took only a few mins so good.LOVE the charger no cords

I already had a canon T1i from past 6 years and so though it was time to upgrade. this is an amazing upgrade. with some photography techniques i read on internet articles, this camera is just what i needed. i dont do professional photography so i am not that much interested in buying the single digit Ds. there are 3 custom modes which i can configure one for portrait, one for my landscape choice and one night time or something. The wifi is flawless with Canon Camera connect software and its easy downloading images. I like to use raw images too so i usually download it on computer and work on them using free photoeditor Gimp. The touch screen was absent in T1i so that was definitely a plus. I liked that you can quickly configurecahnge modes using the touch screen to get the picture at the right time.using my phone i can even do a remote click feature through my android phone. But this is just a start, i know the camera can do whole new levels of pictures. just waiting to explore it more and i will update this review accordingly.

This camera has more functions than an entry level DSLR so be prepared to do your homework and use the manual I used a RebelT5 and got the basics down, saved my money and rented several bodies out and the one that fit my needs as a hobby photographer was the 80D I got the body only because I already have lenses. Use the fastest memory card and buy two extra batteries if you shoot outdoors This body is built for heavy work

My first DSLR was a Rebel SL1. It was good, but I outgrew it after a few months. The autofocus wasnt nearly fast enough, images werent as sharp as they could be, it was too small, it lacked a flip screen, and it didnt have the advanced features like one such as the 80D had. My next DSLR was the Rebel T6i. At the time of purchase, I came extremely close to purchasing the 70D, but I figured why should I I would be paying more money for the same camera with a couple of extra bells and whistles in a bigger body. The T6i satisfied me for a year, before I then outgrew that one. Autofocus was fast, but not fast enough, and noise performance couldve been better. When I first held the 80D, about a month or so before considering the purchase, I was astounded by its weight, but fell in love with all the features. 1080p at 60FPS really pleased me, as did the 7 FPS shooting, builtin time lapse, and insane autofocus. The one thing I was worried about was the size and weight of the camera. But honestly, this thing fits nicely in my hand and fits like a glove. As far as weight, the camera is NOT that heavy. Noticeably lighter than the 70D, as far as I can remember. A relative currently owns a 70D What makes up the majority of the weight is the 18135 USM lens, which, may I add is spectacular The speed and sharpness of the lens is unbeatable Worth every penny Also, build quality is perfect. Of course, the build quality of this camera is perfect as well. I am starting a YouTube channel and hope that it takes off within the near future. I need all necessary gear to create the best videos possible. Many videos nowadays are uploaded at 1080p 60fps. Canon was late to install these features on their DSLRs, and I am happy they finally did, as now my videos will be buttery smooth. You may have noticed that video has been brought up a lot. Thats why I need the autofocus I can rely on and flip screen. For blogging, I no longer even need to look into the screen with concern that I may not be in focus. I now FINALLY have an AF system I can rely on. One other video shooting feature that I am ecstatic to see is a built in headphone jack I can now hear whatever I am recording Every picture and video taken with this camera looks professional. If you are starting from the bottom, you may want to consider a T6i. It is an amazing camera. However, if you are already skilled and have some experience, this camera will exceed your necessities.

Yes it does not have 4k. But it has the best autofocus and ergonomics of any dslr on the market. What use is 4k if your movies are out of focus Plus the 1080p 60fps is simply cinematic. The touch screen is something I thought I would not care about but its like power assisted steering on car once youve used there is no going back. The fully rotating screen enables for amazing closeup shots and any angle weatherproofed too for rainy weather in the Northwest. The images if you shoot RAW are every bit as good as sony or nikon. Battery life is such that I get over 1000 shots on a single charge. The price is worth the 200 more over the 70d. And lastly you get access to the best range of quality and AFFORDABLE lenses on the market.

Im upgrading from a 40D so the differences are huge I cant review video because I havent played around with that yet. However they really ironed out all of the kinks in this series of camera. The autofocus speed and precision is a dream. The touch screen autofocus is very useful. Toggling between live view and viewfinder is simple, which is very useful when shooting sessions where periodically you want to use an unusual angle and you can use the articulating screen in live view. If youve had a previous camera In this series you dont need to relearn where all of the wheels, dials and menus are because they didnt change them. I was able to charge the battery and go to a job right away. The lack of noise is impressive at high ISOs. Coming from the 40D, being able to easily get my photos bright is impressive. Also the camera can see in very dark rooms. Ive always struggled with my camera focusing at a darkened reception hall because it was too dark for it to see. Thats not a problem with the 80d. The wifi is a wonderful added touch. As far the as photo part of the camera I cant imagine any major improvements they could make for now.

What can I say Its the best all around camera out there right now. It has auto focus and I bought the body only so I could save money and buy the lens kits that I need. Its a great starter camera. Plus I use mine for my YouTube video content and social media. Def recommend.

Love this camera. Fantastic still photography, and really great video. Love using the time lapse as well. If you want a borderline professional DSLR with excellent photo and video capabilities that will expand and be with you a long time this is it. This bundle is a great starter kit. I recommend getting extra batteries to go with it.

Reviewer complaining about no focus on his 300mm lens using the 2.0 extender Not the cameras fault at all. If he had read the info he would have seen his problem 2.0 extenders DO NOT autofocusThe problem is the user not doing his research and then blaming Canon. Thats another reason I always try to read between the lines on user reviews. I certainly trust info from experienced professionals than I do from hobbyistcasual users.

This camera is a pleasure to use… lots of focus points, touch screen, touch focus, fully articulated screen, and not too big or too heavy to carry around. The 80D pictures seem to have a wonderful colour quality to them, better than my 60D which I was wanting to replace. However I just couldnt get really sharp images with any of my 4 lenses on the 80D. My 60D came out sharper in all of my 150 test shots using the same lenses, tripod, and subjects. I suppose if very sharp images are not important to you, then you could be very happy with the 80D. I returned my 80D to the store, and Im waiting for Canon to provide a similar camera except with sharp images. I would buy the 80D again if an upgrade was made to the image sharpness.

I loved my 70d, so when i came time to replace.. I bought and 80d. I couldnt get it to focus, regardless of what lenses were used or if I shot in viewfinder or live view modes. So I returned it for a replacement 80d. Same problem. Would not focus sharply. So I returned it for yet another replacement. Same Exact Problem. So I sent the third 80d to Canon, along with two new Canon Lenses EFS 1022 and EFS 18200 and asked them to make the necessary adjustments so it would shoot perfectly. The camera came back and STILL DOES NOT FOCUS sharply. In direct comparison to my 70d, same lenses, same settings, same tripod … even my wife can clearly see the difference in sharpness and agrees that it is JUST NOT ABLE TO FOCUS properly.

I have had the canon 80d for over a year, its user friendly and durable as I can be rough on it when Im photographing children. I have been using it full time in my photography business and love it more than any camera I have ever owned. I previously upgraded from the rebel t6 and find the differences in picture quality remarkable. I always recommend the 80D to everyone who ask me about it.

I upgraded from my canon rebel to this. Im still learning how to use it but its definitely quicker and responds quickly to any setting changes. I also love the wireless connection so no plugging in to upload photos. I can get them right on my phone.

This camera is amazing, I just recently bought it a little over a year ago. I have always been into photography since I was a little kid, and started with the Bridge Powershot cameras. Finally, wanting to bring my photography game up to the next level, I bought this. I primarily use the lenses in the lens kit I bought, and barely use manual focus. However, the 45 point auto focus on this camera is AMAZING, its extremely quick, and quiet. The quiet feature was a definite choice when I was choosing a camera, as shooting on the go, with no secondary audio system, happens to me quite often. I also have to say that the onboard microphone on this camera is absolutely amazing compared to any other camera Ive had. Although it can get a little overwhelming in loud, busy areas, it handles very well in quiet areas, such as neighborhoods. The LCD screen also has a stunning quality, with deep, dark, vibrant, rich colors. This really makes viewing pictures on the go easy, and promising. As with many cameras I have had havent had this, almost desktop quality LCD screen. I feel like Im stretching it a little here, but I have to complement the person who made the insanely accurate auto mode. This has been extremely useful for me when I dont have time to get all the settings right in manual, usually when photographing wildlife. Overall I think this is a great camera, and would definitely recommend buying it.

Terrific improvement to the DAPS line. Better ergonomics and, thankfully, a switch to DS card instead of CF. Menu design is a little confusing at first but quite usable. When I placed my order on the phone with your rep she assured me that a a long time user of L glass lenses I would be happy with the included 18135 zoom. Not so much as it is soft on the high end. Also changing of F stop at different focal lengths can be troublesome if depth of field is an issue.

After ten years using my T6i, I upgraded in November 18 to the 80D. They had a Tamron 16300 zoom on a sale I couldnt resist, so I paired it with that. I love it I intend, at some point, to upgrade to a Canon zoom, and my prime lenses are Canons. The 80D is proving to be all I was hoping for. Fast, quiet, with incredible detail and comfortable handling. I still have my T6i as a second, and at events I use both. I would highly recommend the 80D

this is definitely a HUGE step up from my Canon Rebel T5 which I still love, of course Great quality build, very sharp images and added features. WiFi transfer and control is extremely convenient. Definitely recommend anyone who is serious about photography investing into this camera before jumping in and purchasing a pro body, Canon 5D series, 1DX etc. Its not a full frame camera, but unless you truly need the extra resolution, this is a great camera

my first camera so take that into account with this review, my friend recommended i get this one to shoot video and i said ok why not. I didnt want to spend 1k on it so i purchased the refurbished one for 800, IT . IS. AMAIZNG. the quality is BEAUTIFUL, super smooth, easy to use, video quality is literally not of this earth its so gorgeous, wifi compatibility so the pics can upload straight to my drive, it doesnt shoot in 4k but i think thats fine. its gorgeous. love it . LOVE IT

I had so many choices for mirrorless, but this camera is a beast It was hands down the camera of my dreams. It is excellent and I highly recommend it.

I got this for Christmas as an upgrade from my Rebel T5 and it is awesome. So much quieter shooting, faster start up from off, the battery has lasted several days so far my Rebel battery definitely wouldnt. I got it with the new 18135mm lens and I love the lens also. The bokeh is smooth, it is sharp, smooth manual focus. I have yet to test out my other lenses so far because Im still getting used to this new lens and Im thoroughly enjoying using it. I also like being able to use the camera connect app to transfer pictures to my phone. I just wish I could choose too save to my SD card rather than the device.

The Canon 80D Video Creator Kit is great. USA camera, no issues registering. It was more for this bundle the memory card, spare battery, and intervalometer were worth the . The tripod, memory card reader, and some other accessories will go to Goodwill theres a reason they are thrown in cheap. Probably great for someone without these items already. Overall, I would recommend the bundle just for the few included accessories that I liked.

I love love love this camera. I love the fact that it has software with which I can use to make my MacBook a monitor so that I can see myself when filming. The auto focus is a much needed upgrade from the 70d. There are endless options for photography and video. I tend to film and photograph on manual and raw. I use a plug in battery so that I dont have to worry about battery life. Also the program for iPhone to use your phone as a remote and monitor to take pictures is another added bonus.

My first ever DSLR camera. The main reason to buy this was to start vlogs, which never happened. I bought a few lens for the camera as well. I have always had a great amount of respect for canon and when out to test, I was not disappointed. The only wish I have is if I had gotten a full frame sensor camera.

Affordable mirrorless camera for intermediate photographers wanting to experience mirrorless cameras. The lens is a standard kit lens that isnt that versatile, but overall the colors and quality of the camera body are great. The flip out screen is awesome and my favorite part is the electronic viewfinder Such a cool feature that you dont normally see on lower end canon cameras, but it is really neat to see what the camera really sees. This body pairs with EFM lenses so if you want to use your normal canon lenses you need an adapter. The adapter slows down lens autofocus a bit in my opinion. Lightweightportable, easy to use, all around great camera

Ive been using Canon DLSR cameras for 15 years. This is the first one that Im not bonding with. The autofocus is not reliable, and consistenly produces soft images, even with my pro L lenses. It also seems to have issues with exposing dappled light, and often overexposes the scene. Its something my 60D, which I basically killed after tens of thousands of pictures, and three previous Rebel models didnt issues with. I think my 80D is buggy. Not sure what to do. Im out of 3 month warranty and dont want to have to send it in and wait weeks for repair, all in the peak of the summer season. Im really tempted to try my luck with another new Canon camera and write this off as bad luck.

I have had this camera for about a year now. I upgraded from a Canon EOS Rebel T3i which was a great camera. I still have it and use it as my backup. I love this 80D. It is nice for capturing objects in motion and the definition and color of still shots are amazing. It is easy to use but has features that I have not used yet. The lens that is part of this kit is a very good lens too. I have a couple of other lenses but this is a great standard lens to have if you dont want to pack several when going on a trip. I dont have a photo of the camera but will post some photos taken with the camera.

I was so excited to get this camera. The minute it arrived it was obvious it had been shipped out previously to someone else. You could see the torn tape marks all over the box. To make matters worse the battery that came with the camera was not the right battery for the camera. I immediately returned it and was charged for shipping. I debated trying again but worried i would have a repeat experience. Now i question anything i order and how new the purchases im making really are.

I use this for videos. Some may say I spent way too much for this but I can proudly say that this camera will last me 10 years. I am obsessed with the optics and settings on this bad boy. They came out with the 90D already but I love my 80d. Cameras on phones will never have the love that a dslr will give.

I have used the Canon 20D, 50D, and now the 80D. Couldnt be happier. At first, the folding, rotating, touchscreen menu was a bit strange and seemed gimmicky, but the menu system is intuitive and the rotating screen may come in handy at some point. My only concern is the screen itself, as I tend to not be gentle on cameras during hikes, etc. Some of my old lenses have new life now, with the higher available ISO allowing more light in at acceptable noise levels, so lowlight shots look nice. Fast autofocus is such a relief as my dying 50D was never too good at it. A variety of added features such as presets, HDR, and artistic effects probably arent necessary, by will be fun to try out. The wireless is a bit clunky to set up a few sub menus to navigate but not too bad for getting images straight to my iPhone. Overall, this is my new favorite camera

I dont think you will ever regret purchasing the Canon 80D. I certainly have not. This was an upgrade for me from the 70D which I also thought was an outstanding camera…especially for video.Concerning the 80D, the AF is spot on, fast and tack sharp. The improvements to the WiFi over the 70D, the head phone jack, the streamlined menu system, the ability to shoot 1080p 60 fps, the articulating touch screen, the 100 view finder and the ability to shoot slow motion are just a few of the highlights that make this camera a real winner for video and for stills. And too, all of this is backed by the outstanding Canon technical support and customer service team.On the negative side, 4K video, built in GPS and a second card slot would have been very nice…especially 4K.Bottom line, for the price, you wont go wrong.

Canon continues to make solid improvements on the X0D line with features not yet found on their professional line. This camera shoots beautiful HD video and it is nearly impossible to take a bad still with the 80D. Every feature imaginable is a button push away, or easily found in the touchscreen menu. Miniaturization is a natural progression in the tech world, and full frame sensors being replaced by APS sensors makes sense as the technology advances. I love this camera.

As an owner of Canon DSLRs going back to the 10D I realy expected perfection on this one. Uh…not so much The ergonomics are just different enough from previous models to be annoying. I took a while to even figure out how to activate the flash. autofocus controls are confusing. The images are just OK but appear a little soft.. This may be just my perception based on the lens. All my shooting experience with Canon has been with L lenses and though I was assured that the included 18135S included would please me as much as my old 24105L that does not seem to be the case.

This Camera is an upgrade for my old 10 Megapixel Canon XTi. This Camera is fantastic. Great Image quality, the controls are simple to master, and the WiFi while it has room for improvement is a nice touch. Great Camera for beginner to pro. Battery life is very good too. I cannot speak much of the Video because Im primarily a still photographer. However again, the controls are simple and the ability to use an external microphone is a nice feature. BUY ONE

Its a great piece of kit. I have only just upgraded to this new EOS after being out of the DSLR game for quite a while. Very happy with the product, although must admit I did not realise it was possibly a grey import, as the charger was supplied with an AU to US Converter. Bit strange poor form from Canon if it isnt. Looking forward to many hours of use with this quality piece of kit

Bought this camera some time back and have used it extensively. It produces absolutely gorgeous photographs. My only complaint is its weight and inconvenience to have available.

I absolutely love this camera. It is a great addition to the canon family. It works great with the standard lens as well as the professional ones. I have used it in many low light and outdoor settings for my job. It works great for video only suggestion is invest in a external mic if you plan on using it for sound.

I bought this camera for my wife, so this is my view of her experience with it. Weve both been shooting Canon APSC crop sensor cameras for about 15 years. Ive gone through a string of bodies, beginning with the 10D and moving through 20D, 40D, 7D and now 7D Mk II. Shes been using the Rebel line until I bought her a 60D. She really likes the small size and lighter weight of the Rebels, but Ive always felt they were too light on configurability, compared to the cameras Ive been using. The 60D was a nice compromise between the two lines and the 80D is an even better approximation of the control I have in a small, lightweight body. As primarily wildlife photographers, we both appreciate the focal length bump that comes with the APSC sensor something that can be a liability for landscape or portrait photographers. In wildlife photography, were always looking for the greatest reach in the most compact package, balanced against a high quality image. Ive tried numerous compact cameras, which offer extreme focal lengths in very compact, easily portable units, but they have been very disappointing in the quality of the images they capture. The 7D Mk II and the 80D both offer autofocus at f8 with limitations, which gives us a big leg up on the previous cameras weveused in the long lenslightweight kit department. Now my wife can mount a 2X extender on her 300mm f4 lens and have a 600mm 960mm equivalent with the cropping factor lens in a size and weight she can handle something that has never been available before. Its not a combination one would want to rely on too heavily, since the image quality and shooting percentage deteriorate with the slow aperture and doubler, but it offers options shes never had before. Besides the expanded autofocus support, the 80D offers a lot of other configurability options that Ive come to rely on in the 40D7D7D Mk II bodies Ive been using, like 2 custom settings options in the mode dial mine have 3, but 2 is usually adequate. Similarly, the menu offers a lot more control over the shooting experience. That said, there is a fairly steep learning curve with any of these cameras these days, and the expanded range of options I value makes the learning curve that much steeper. Fortunately, theres a lot of help available online and in the photography community.

I owned an 80D and genuine Canon BG for some time and it captured excellent images but with 70200 f2.8II I could feel the mount flex as if the lens was attached to body, not body to lens. Flimsy plastic body that made great results in telephoto applications. Always worried the lens would break off of the camera. I have a used FF 1DX v.1 that cost more used than 2 new 80D bodies. Not as great for telephoto use when magnification is paramount, but 1D bodies are so stout and satisfying to use, one wants to only use 1D bodies.. weight and bulk aside. I rely on and trust 1D

This camera and the two lenses were worth the wait. It arrived from Eglobal well wrapped weather sealed undamaged. Fair enough it took about 5 working days after order was picked from warehouse. Before that it took about three days from placing order payment to first notification that order was picked. All in all delivered to Europe within 9 days. Dont get a fright when firing up camera as language was set to Chinese. Go online and search for video how to change language 80D and find the little icon in the menu. Easy enough to set to English. Downloaded the manual 526 pages but not surprised as this camera has soooo many features. Begin with charging the battery first before exploring this 80D beauty as the battery has very little charge from factory. Looking forward to my first day shooting.

I love this camera so much. I use it for photos and videos. Its great for sports photography and portraits. I recommend a lens with a low aperture for that. I love the way the settings are set up, but you should look up settings for high quality videos with this camera because I found a way to make my video higher quality last week and I am finally starting to be satisfied with my setup.

I was recently in a shop thinking about what could be a next step for my photography and the man at the shop showed me some latest Canon cameras full frame etc.. I have to admit that I could find some options but no one convinced me enough to take a decision against the Canon 80D. The Canon 80D is extremely friendly to use, with a nice touch screen which allows you to quickly enlarge your pictures to check its sharpness, the handy flip screen which allows you to reach different perspectives easily, its tough and resistant body, even in heavy rain conditions, its 49 focus points to guarantee max sharpness, built in WiFi, 5 different jacks to connect mics, shutter releasers etc.., a very long life lithium battery and an increased ISO performance. ISO performance of some latest Canon cameras are much better, even twice as good, however at the end you dont want to learn to work with high ISO pictures prone to grain, you better learn with your Canon 80D to moderate the ISO and use more the shutter speed or the diafragma or even some external lighting for more professional and crisp pictures. I really recommend the Canon 80D which seems to be still one of the best Canon products on the market right now after 3 years from its launch, and also better than many other nonCanon devices on the market right now.

Outstanding camera. It replaces a Canon T3i. The T3i was actually outdated when I bought it. I should have bought a T5i. One of the first things I noticed with the 80D was the touch screen. It greatly facilitates changing settings without having to hunt through endless menus for them. Even though it has more functions than the T3i, they are much easier to find and to set. The focus is extremely fast and very accurate. The image stabilization seems to be more precise than on my old camera. I havent used it a lot yet, but I look forward to better and more fun photography with the Canon 80D.

My new to me Canon 80D is the nicest DSLR Ive owned. Fast, responsive, intuitive, sharp are all words Id use to describe this beast of a camera. I recently bought this camera and just spent 6 hours using it at an event. Love it Paired it with the Sigma 18300 mm. Such a huge step up from my Nikon D3100. Love the display feature where I can actually see the quality of my photos immediately. My only qualm is that it sometimes focuses on the wrong subject in low light, but I knew it would do that when I bought it. Highly recommend.

I have had the Camera for about a year. At first I was disappointed with the focus. Then I discovered MicroAdjustment. I bought a SPyderLensCal and spent a day adjusting each lens. Takes patience and time but the result is astounding. The Camera is fast and doesnt hunt for focus. I like the fact that it will take EFS and EF lenses so I dont have to worry about which lens format I purchase. LLenses perform GREAT on this Body.I have attached a photo of fall leaves I think shows the cameras ability to faithfully reproduce color and deal with multiple focus points. I did have to downsize the photo to meet this sites standard so there is some loss in the image. I use Paint Shop Pro 20. This was taken hand held Canon EF 24105mm 14L IS II USM Lens ISO 640 AVPriority, f8, 132 shutter focal length 24mm. Auto Exposure Metering Type Pattern. Image Stabilization ONThe image was not manipulated in any way other than downsized. I could have mounted the 80D on my SLIK 400D Tripod. Taken some time, use mirror lockup, a remote release and so on and the photo would have been better no doubt. However, You dont always have the time for that and I think this shows what can be done by just pointing up and shooting. This shows the capability of the camera. The photo of the tomato was taken hand held with an EF 70200mm f4L USM ISO 160 f7.1 1256 shutter metering mode Spot Focal Length 200mm. This lens does not have Image stabilization. It is one of my older L glass Lenses. But Color rendition and bokeh are spot on.Some people dont like the articulating screen….However it does allow you to turn the screen toward the camera body when not in use and keep it from being damaged…big plus. All in all, this is a great camera to have even as a pro for a backup. this is why I like EF and EFS Lens capabilityThe camera will do a lot. There is a lot of menus to learn and adjustments to be made. However once learned it is a powerful photographer tool. That being said it may be a bit much for an armature or beginner. which is why I think there are some unfair reviews about focus capabilities…just not knowing how to operate the cameraI have been using Canon equipment since 1976. This is by far the most capable and versatile piece of equipment I have owned. When paired with a 600EX IIRT Speedlite it is a fantastic portrait camera. My intention is to move to a EOS 50DS after I retire and make photography my full time profession, but this will always be my go to back up for digital photography. I still have and Use some of my original 35mm Canon Cameras. They are rock solid tough. I expect no less from this piece of equipment.

Ive had the 80D for a couple of months, limited opportunity at first to use it, when I caught up with it, I was impressed overall handling, quick solid focus and crystal clear images. It has some collections from the past and now to contend with.Having read some of the reviews, Ive run a fair amount of frames through using a fair number of my extensive collection of Canon lenses and some of the other nonCanon, native mount and adapters.. Focus is dead on including my German Shepherds running in every direction including dead one. It works well with the Sony Bigma 50500mm.The reason I own this camera is as a lightweight sidekick, even fill in for my 5DIV, my fourth of the 5D series and every one has gotten better. The 5DIV has now replaced my 5DIII. Ill save a comment on that for elsewhere but its great.Ive started using lighter weight mirrorless cameras. Ive found the Sony A7R first rate for quality of image at 36 MP FF on things like landscapes and lack of heft. I found the NEX 7 with a 24 mp sensor to be very cool and allows me too adapt some weird images. I dont however, really care for EVTs or the risk of EVT collapse at bad moment. It happened to my unabused A7R and I was forced to rely on the Next 7.I find this a really fine backup and I wouldnt have any problem with it as a primary. On the other hand, Ive been shooting for nearly 60 years. Ive used Canons now for a couple of decades as primary, after other uses earlier.
CARY –
Ive had a 20D, 60D, and, now, the 80D. Canon has truly knocked it out of the park with this camera.I also have a 5DIII, so I can compare the IQ to a FF sensor, and it matches up quite well. Yes, I get less noise on the FF in low light, but the resolution, color, and tonality of the 80D is great for screen and print. One unexpected improvement is the way BW images have more punch and depth than even my 5DIII. Perhaps it is the increased dynamic range and resolution. And then there is the speed of Live View AF and the very capable video features. Both are opening new techniques and, for me, movie making. Love the touch screen features. All in all, very happy with the purchase, and highly recommended.

I bought this lens 2 months ago and have used it for a couple of weddings and for general use. Image stabilization is a gamechanger, especially at the hardest part of a wedding during the bridesmaid processional.I have a 2470 f2.8L, which is a wonderful lens but it isnt stabilized and its heavy. In a low light church, with the girls walking up the aisle I only get one chance. With a flash the old lens got acceptable sharpness with my 6D, if I was careful to not shake while taking the shot. With the new f4 with image stabilization I get excellent sharpness repeatedly. This lens solved my biggest problem.I have heard some people snobishly say they would NEVER buy anything less than an f2.8 lens, but I would never shoot those bridesmaids at 2.8. I shoot at 5.6 or 6.3 because I need the wider depth of field for the moving subject. My 6d gives fine images at high ISO.The photo quality of this lens is really good with no more distortion than the classic 2470 f2.8, it produces a nice punchy image, its solidly built, its light and its half the price of the other lenses.Dont underestimate what IS can do to improve your sharpness. I love this lens and only pull out the f2.8 occasionally now.

This was the 1st lens I bought for my camera, the 70D, which came with a 70300 and a 18135. right away I knew I found the perfect match. The softness is so rich in the backgrounds, it takes backgrounds and turns them into the most beautiful backdrop with colors and shapes you couldnt plan for, yet the image itself is clear. The colors in the photograph are stunning. When I show my prints, printed off a high end 9 color, professional printer, taken with the 2470, they think its a painting. thats the result of the chemistry between the 2470 and the 70D. The addition of having MACRO literally at your fingertips, no changing lenses, just keep that creative moment moving, is why there are 5 stars up there Changing from MACRO and back is just practice, its 2nd nature now. I LOVE THIS LENS

Pros This is a fantastic camera for both photos and videos. I use this car photography as well as filming videos for YouTube and it works really well. Ive not had it too long, so Im still getting used to all the features but I already know this is a quality product. It feels really nice in the hand and its got a nice weight to it. Sure, some may want a lighter device, but its a DSLR after all. I would easily recommend this, and its little wonder why this is such a respected camera in both the photography and videography world.Cons It doesnt shoot in 4K, which is a bit of downer, but that is something I can live with and I was aware of this when I bought the device. I put ease of use down as a 7, not because its overly difficult to use, but there are a LOT of functions and it will take a bit of time to learn how to use them properly. However, one could leave it in auto and that would make things a piece of cake. This just means you have little control over what the camera is doing.

I already have a 6D but wanted something lighter and smaller with DPAF hence the 80D. Been impressed with the excellent picture quality even at high ISO. Superb autofocus a giant leap over my 6D. My L series lenses bring out the very best from the 80D. Difficult to fault only the lack of 4k video may be a concern for some but personally I purchase a DSLR for its stills. Excellent handling and good weather proofing round of another superb Canon camera.

Perfect camera for the modern creator. Its quick, familiar, and trustworthy. Some great features are the WiFi and the flip touch screen. Its easy to use if youre familiar with Canon controls. I would recommend it to an intermediateexperienced photographer.

This is a very good camera and lens combination for general shooting. However, expect quite a bit of a learning curve if upgrading from a T5 or lesser camera. Image quality is outstanding. Auto Focus is crazy fast.

This is a great mid level camera. I got it about four years ago to be my main shooter for video. It has a good design for filmmaking with its well placed jacks and the articulating screen, though the quality isnt necessarily top notch. It takes excellent pictures and the HDR mode is great, but the video quality is probably best suited for vlogging rather than serious filmmaking. Ive upgraded to the Sony A7iii, but I still use this one for certain things, and its still my main photography body especially for real estate shoots because of its very convenient HDR mode.

just know you arent getting usa warranty. it says that in the ad but easy to miss. seller provides warranty. I figured for a few hundred less Ill take the chance… so far, its a vastly better camera than the 60Ds it replaces. with a fast SD card shoots jpgs forever and raw for many seconds before filing buffer. these raw files are larger than previous models so a 128gb SD card should be considered as entry level for space. canon charger wont charge older 3rd party batteries, but does charge new ones that have updated chips in them. thats canon…

This camera replaced my SL1 that stopped working and was too expensive to repair. Given the cost of repair was so high, I decided it made sense to upgrade as Id been happy with the SL1 aside, perhaps, with respect to its longevity. The 80D, however, has been a huge disappointment. Since new, it has had trouble with autofocus, in multiple modes, using different lenses I only upgraded and stayed with Canon as I am vested in their lenses. I now have 8 months of subpar photos, even had an expensive lens repaired thinking that was the issue. Id upload photos, but I use this mostly for taking pics of my family and the kids sport events, so I wont. But as I quickly perused photos I have, I feel terrible about what a bad job this camera has done since I have owned it.

The Canon 80D is a great camera for beginners or enthusiasts. With its decent frame rate of 7fps its decent for high speed photography yet at 1,099.99 it doesnt console rely bust your budget. Its very durable and its water resistance comes in handy. Its autofocus is top of the line and is incredibly fast and smooth. With this camera I wont need to upgrade anytime soon as it has a very nice highest resolution of 6000×4000. Would recommend this to anyone of any level, it has great versatility for those who would like to be casual photographers.

I recently added this Canon 80D as a perfect complement to my other camera gear. Having had a 70D for several years, Im already appreciating the enhanced capabilities of its 80D successor. While its easy for beginners to use, the 80D is also qualified as a Prosumer camera for its dense megapixel sensor and superior video ability. In my brief experience with the 80D so far, its living up to its excellent reputation and I highly recommend it to interested photographers.

Just recently dropped and it still working perfectly like a champ. So sad though… I am getting use to it , not professional photographer and this camera just has so many settings compared to my recent . I love it though Practice makes perfect.

Influenster review I picked this up when it first came out. I needed a great camera for my YouTube videos and I decided go big or go home. I think this was an excellent choice. The multiple points of focus help keep the picture clear when filming. This thing also takes incredible pictures too There is a great divide between canon and Nikon lovers. If you are a fan of canon then this will not disappoint. The only accessory I am missing is the zoom adapter. I dont feel the need to get it though. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great dslr camera

I work in an agricultural RD company where we take pictures of insects, plants, fungi and assorted items such as illustrating procedures. We have the 60 2.8 and 100 2.8 canon macro lenses, but the 2470 seems to be the go to lens for all the departments. We started using the T5i aand upraded to the T61. Either body with the 2470 seems to handle most anything we shoot. It is the preferred lens for field work where a versatile, light weight lens is preferable. We are currently doing a tiome lapse experiment where the 2470 will be the main lens used.

I bought this camera in April 2017 to start up my YouTube VIA.KALIA.Almost every video on my YouTube channel is film with this camera except the vlogs. You can check out my videos if you want to get see how the quality of the camera is.This camera launch out in 2016 so when I purchased it, it was fairly new and pricey. I paid around 1,099 for the body only. I already owned a few camera lens of my own so I decided not to buy the kit lens with it.But now the camera body retails around 800900, so the price have went down.I love love love this camera for filming AND photography. In filming it focus really fast. It also helps a lot that it has a flip screen so you can see yourself when youre trying to film or take selfportrait.I think this is a great camera to start up a YouTube but it does take some time learning how to use a DSLR camera if you have no experience in it.

If you are looking for a universal camera that records, captures priceless moments and renders a clean crisp picture…..you cant go wrong with this camera. The WiFi connection where you can upload to a tablet, phone, or computer is the best. I recently did a shooting for a 90th Birthday celebration. I was able to upload the pictures minutes from the time I finished and email them on the spot PHENOMENAL service This is my fourth camera, third Canon and I know for a fact I purchased the right one. Thanks Canon for giving me life

The Best Camera Ever. Although there is a bit of a learning curve you will be rewarded. I have several Canon cameras and this is my favorite. It is easy to use once you learn how and the images are outstanding. My big lenss will Auto Focus with TeleConverters using an f8 and center point AF without hunting. This camera will perform as well as the expensive models at a fraction of the cost. Using Touch Screen to change settings is so fast and easy….WOW. I find it tedious to change settings on my other canons now, the touch screen has spoiled me.

Im an enthusiast just now getting into photo editing with RAW files and I bought a traditional DSLR to take advantage of the extensive selection of lenses offered by Canon without having to hassle with adapters on a mirrorless body. The kit lens does a great job and I particularly like how the WiFi is set up on this camera compared to the Sony A series. The bundle is a great value, although I do think the tripod feels a bit flimsy for daily or professional use. Overall, a great camera that I should be able to grow with with a great variety of bundle accessories to suit my photography purposes.

This is an amazing 1080p digital camera. I currently use this to film most if not all my YouTube videos. The image quality is amazing, it takes great video shots, and is a very versatile camera. The only issue I have with it, is that it doesnt record video in 4k

After deciding to upgrade to a DSLR camera I did some research and the Canon 80D fitted all my requirements. It was easy to operate, good settings and initial photos made a big difference to what I usually took. You need to use the camera to understand what it can do, not just read the manual or watch videos. You control the camera and quickly get away from the auto setting. The camera feels good in your hands however recommend you purchase a tripod for better results, especially at night or when you require a long shutter speed.

It has been said before, and I agree. The 80d is probably the most able allrounder on the market. While it may not excel at anyone task…it performs many task very well. It is a very pleasant shooting experience that has great image quality for stills, and decent 1080 video. The 18135 lens is a great all purpose lens and my favorite lens for travel with a cropped sensor camera. I really do like this camera. Yes, 4k would have been nice, I guess, but it was not deal breaker for me. This is a solid, well made, capable camera. I really enjoy using it.

I purchased the 80D about 10 months ago and have used it on every excuse I can come up with. Ive been really impressed with the device. This device for me is a step up from my 1100D and I must say, the pictures I can take now with this device look a lot better. The flipout touch screen is more practical than I thought it would be. The lightweight ,composite, weather sealed body is a joy to handle and fits beautifully in my hands. The Buttons are ergonomically placed and I like the combination of the Rotary and the Dpad buttons. The Dualpixel AF works like a charm. If anyone is looking for a good, reliable APSC camera, this would be a brilliant purchase.for context these are the other peripherals that I use Tamron 18270mm lens, 2 extra batteries, a SanDisk Extreme pro class 10 64 GB SD card, a pocket friendly small Manfrotto Tripod and a regular about 1m max ext.Cullmann Tripod. I use it primarily to capture Photos and rarely for Video. However, if 1080p Videos are good enough and you are a Vlogger, look no further.

The Canon 80d is a flexible, affordable camera that offers both the amateur and professional photographer, a high quality still and hd video camera. Its touchscreen menu, allows you to navigate between default functions and creative zones giving you the option to either use the pre set program, or use it as a fully manual camera. Images are crisp and clear, noise control at higher iso values allows for low light photography. I particularly like its sensitive auto focus modes allowing for some impressive action shots, as well as stills.

I recently purchased the Canon 80D and Im in love so far I use this to film YouTube videos and the picturevideo is so clear, blurs out the background and the auto focus is amazing. Wishing Id purchased it sooner The price is reasonable. The camera is super easy to use but can be a bit bulky if you need something hand held, especially if you have a long lens like I use 135 mm. Mine is always on the tripod so that doesnt bother me. The settings are easy to control and you have two options touch screen or manual. I love the touch screen feature personally. This camera hasnt let me down. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone

Let me preface this review by saying that I currently own a Canon 6d, 7D and a Sony a6000. I have previously also owned a Canon t2i and t4i. So I have some experience with DSLRs over the past 6 years. I dont own the 80D but I borrowed it for a week long trip and took a few thousands photos and many videos with it. The 80D has a brand new sensor which finally brings canon apsc sensor to the level of sony and may I say Fuji in terms of image quality, low light performance and dynamic range. So this is a great step for Canon but if you are new buyer please understand that this is not an earth shattering camera. Personally, I am not a fanboy of any company, I happen to have a lot of canon lenses so I stick to canon cameras that is all. If you have lenses from other companies that this camera alone is not worth the switch just for image quality. The auto focus system is much better then the t2it6i series. Both viewfinder and the dual pixel AF during live view to an excellent job. Due to the good auto focuz and swivel LCD this camera is great for video. It doesnt do 4K but it does do 1080P quite well. If your primary purpose was image quality but you also wanted a capable video camera then this would be a good choice. If you were only focus on photography and not video then I might push you to spend a bit more and get a 6D as long as you dont need fast AF. If you want just video then look at Panasonic GH4. One of the best things about buying into a canon system is the fact that there are tons and tons of lenses avaialble at every price point, New and used. This is why I picked canon as my primary system. The micro 43rd system from Olympus and Panasonic similarly have a wide selection of lenses and this is why I recommend GH4 for video. The ergonomics, build quality, fit and finish are standard canon. That is to say they are excellent. The camera is well balanced, feels good in the hand. I have small hands but I find canon somehow makes both their smaller and larger cameras comfortable at least in my hands. With a heavy lens such as a 100400 even the best cameras do get heavy so I recommend investing in a nice 3rd party strap. I hate all manufacturer straps that are included with cameras. The are thin and short and cause pain in the neck.

I researched and agonized over choosing between the 80D and 7D mark 2. What finally made me make up my mind was that I could get the 80D and have some money left to buy a prime lens. So far, I am pleased with the camera. The auto focus is very fast. Way faster than my old camera. I love the big viewfinder and the info provided therein. I dont shoot birds, so the 10fps of the 7dm2 probably wasnt necessary. I probably would like the different high speed focus cases that the 7d has but it hasnt hindered me. I generally take pics of a toddler who doesnt stop moving. The kit lens it silent and focuses very fast. I am surprised at the quality of the new kit lens. I upgraded from 1855 Esf and this is much better. Love the extra reach all the way to 135. Quality at that distance is quite good too. I dont do much video but I have been tempted due to how easy it is with this setup. Bottom line, outdoors this camera is Great. Indoors I use my new 35mm f2 and it gets the job done.

The purpose of buying the canon 80d is purely for capturing videos, although still photography is quite good. I have done some video tests and the results are very good as it is very sharp and detailed while shooting in AllI mode. The flip out screen is very useful that it can turn but its a small screen. It would be awesome had the Alli mode came with 60fps movie shooting. So far Im still learning the camera and finding it enjoyable.

Talk about a great camera. Right out of the box we started taking pictures. The face detection is spot on. Easy to use and a wonderful camera used with the Sigma 28 250 MM. The pictures are top quality as well. We are thrilled with the professionalism of the Canon D80. We are also so very pleased we waited until this new model came out. We went back and forth wondering if we should buy the D7, D5, Mark ii etc. We made the right choice for sure. Thank you Canon for putting out a great piece of machinery. The kit the camera came with is very nice also. Added in the kit, that wasnt mentioned is the D80 Camera Strap. We are now ready to go take some fabulous pictures.

I have been in photography for 40 years and have owned and used a few cameras, ranging from 35mm film to 6×6 and 6×7 medium format and now to DSLR. After a break when I mainly was shooting video I came back to cameras in 2012 when I purchased a Canon G1X. Then a EOS700D which my grandaughter borrowed for school photography course and never returned .So 4 months ago I purchased an EOS80D. Believe me, I am wrapt with this camera and think back to the days of when I was photographing weddings with a SLR coupled with a medium format camera for big enlargements. If only I had the 80D for that A wee bit hard at my age learning how to use all the features so am basically using my old preference of Aperture Priority and enjoying the auto ISO.In all, a beautiful camera and I am back to taking photos of things that please me, not worrying about pleasing othersThanks Canon for making an old bloke happy and loving photography again.Ken, Napier NZ

I have been shooting with a Canon T5i for the past 5 years and I loved it. Ive taken 1000s of photos, many that Ive printed and hung on my wall. I was looking for a step up in not only frames per second, but overall quality as well. Ive found it in the Canon EOS 80D. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, this could be the very last camera body I buy. It fits in my hands perfectly and has a lot of the features you find on a professional full frame camera. I love everything about it so far.

I considered a lot of different cameras for my first DSLR, and once I settled on the EOS 80D so much room to grow, but the results with this body and lens are gorgeous with very little editing or training as well, I agonized over which lens to buy. The 18135 is USM lens is such great quality and amazing for travel because its just so versatile the primary reason I had bought this DSLR is because Im studying abroad next semester. One caveat is that its quite heavy my wrist was a little sore after about an hour of shooting with the 80D18135 lens. That being said, for more everyday usage i.e with friends the 50mm 1.8 STM lens is wondrous. Its small, light, and with the low fstop and nice bokeh, pictures are really pretty. Like, so gorgeous. So far with the 80D Ive been using aperture priority mode for still subjects and shutter priority mode for moving subjects combining that with the different autofocus modes which allow you to select a small area to focus on, Ive been able to achieve pretty good results. Overall, Im super happy with my purchase though it practically cost an arm and a leg, so Im carrying it around often.

The 80D is an update of the 70D, building on the prior model with tweaked Movie Servo, 45point AF, 100 coverage optical viewfinder and a new 24.2MP Dual Pixel sensor.CONSTRUCTION At first glance, the 80D is a near twin of the 70D. However, it feels slightly lighter and the deep finger groove and textured rubber grip make it a little easier to hold on to. It has the same vivid 3.0 1,040,000 dot swiveling touchscreen LCD as the 70D, albeit more smudge resistant. Touch sensitivity is adjustable and noticeably better than my iPhone 5s.The shutter is quiet for a DSLR and silent drive mode can reduce it to pianissimo, making it ideal for stage and ceremonies.THE VIEWFINDER is bright and vivid. Plus, the 100 coverage and .95x magnification are slight improvements over 70D coverage. The transmissive LCD displaytransparent LCD over the focusing screendisplays icons, AF and metering patterns, grid and plain matte screens and an electronic level.CONTROLS The menu interface is cleaner and less crowded than the 70D five icons reduced from the 70Ds fifteen and organized by category. However, each menu has two to six submenus. You can create a personal menu of your favorite settings for quick access.Buttons and wheels feel sturdy and may be used while looking through the viewfinder. The 80D lacks a joystick, flash exposure compensation FEC button and white balance WB button. Dropping camera from eye and visiting the touchscreen may cost you a shot. Fortunately, most button functions can be customized, and FEC may be assigned to the SET button scale in the viewfinder, allowing FEC while looking through the viewfinder.Exposure modes are set with a topside knurled dial. Two Custom C modes are included to save your favorite drive, exposure and image quality settings. If youve owned a prior EOS model the interface is similar and you will barely need to crack the manual.AUTOFOCUS The 45point cross type AF array is blazing fast and covers a larger percentage of the frame than the 70Ds 19point array. Its also more surefooted in low light than the 70D.The 80D has the same AF modes as the 70Dsinglepoint AF manual selection, zone AF manual selection of zone and 45point automatic selection AFplus a fourth mode, large zone AF manual selection of zone. I normally manually select an AF point or zone where I want it to focus. Cameras arent smart enough to know if you want a tree, rock or cloud in focus. The 80D has another new AF mode AI Servo in LiveView. Tap the subject on the touchscreen, halfpress the shutter button and it does a great job of tracking the subject across the screen. This mode drains power faster than normal AI servo but handy for low level shooting of critters or kids rolling around.IMAGES show pleasing detail, color rendition and excellent noise control. I didnt notice significant improvement over the 70D until I zoomed in and pulled the shadow slider in DPP a reduction in shadow noise at both low and high ISO. In other words, shadows may be brightened more in post than the 70D. The blue channel also has better noise control than the 70D, so cleaner skies and waterVIDEO HD video quality is excellent fewer moire artifacts, cleaner in low light and smoother and more filmlike compared to 70D files. Im disappointed 4K HD wasnt included. However, 1080P is fine for YouTube since audiences mainly watch on phone and notebook screens.Movie servo is faster than the 70D and less prone to hunting in low light. Focuspulls are a snap with the touch screen. Movie servo with face recognition works great, allowing me to both shoot and perform in video clips.FINAL BURB The 80D is a nimble and capable instrument, and a significant upgrade over the 70D in terms of AF, resolution and control of shadow noise. The bottom line is the many small improvements add up to an enjoyable experience and excellent images and videos.

I ordered this camera and it came with alot if other items for it. There is 1 item im not sure how to use it or how to hook it up to the camera but I still love it ether way. I cant wait to take alot of family photos of my kids and grandkids. I was so happy to see that I was given a camera bag to hold everything all together and there was no mention of a camera bag in the discription of what I was buying so I wasnt expect a camera bag but Im so thrilled that I got the bag to hold it all cuz it saves me money and time from not having to go out and find the perfect bag. I was expect some lenses to come with it but the lenses I was expecting I didnt get so now I have to buy some lenses to go with it before I can use it.I was suppose to get 3 differant lenses but I didnt get even 1 so thats all that was disappointing.

I have been shooting video and stills with my 5D3, 70D and now the 80D. Coupled with the 18135 Nano lens and the PZE1 zoom this camera can do just about anything. Add the new Canon mike on the hot shoe and away you go Seriously folks, this is a winning combination. I have over 400 videos on YouTube shot with the 80D and most all are of music in dark night clubs at ISO6400. They look great I recently bought a C100 and that is a big step up, but the 80D is a wonderful just doitall camera. Really cant say enough other than buy it and you will love it. Happy shooting

This camera is great. It is not the easiest to use but, you can learn how to use it in just a few days. when used with the right combo of lenses you can take amazing pictures. My recommendations are a 50mm if taking close photos of people or small objects. A 75300mm if you are taking photos of things far or nature photography. My last recommended lens is a 1855mm this lens works perfectly if you are using the camera for selfies or self vlogging.

I have added this body to my camera bodies, as a newest and fastest shooting body. But what I wanted most, it was WiFi and NFC ability. That is a AMAZING feature in the DSLR cameras. 24 MP and 7 frames per second is impress. The best is dual AF in this body, super fast and super accurate. With my lenses this is very good choice for any kind of photography. Even it is a crop sensor, still best camera I ever own. This is cheaper version of high end Canons bodies. Highly recommend this camera. It is worth the money.

I lost touch with photography a few years ago, and have recently returned. At first I purchased a Rebel series camera since I had become familiar with them in my college classes, but was quickly disappointed by its toylike feel and function. Im not a mere novice, but definitely not a careerworthy photographer, so it had me stuck feeling somewhere in between.. and thats when I discovered the Canon 80D Excellent build and impressive image quality, at a price I can certainly justify for my needs. Every bit of the professional aspect I want in a DSLR toned down to a level that leaves me without worrying I went out of my means to have it Extremely pleased with this purchase.

Ive had this camera for about 6months now, I upgraded from the t3i which I shot on for about 5 years. I couldnt be happier with my decision The autofocus during video is almost always spot on. I didnt think I would care about a touch screen, but now that I have it, I dont think I could go without. My go to set up is pairing this with the Sigma 1835 1.8 sorry not a Canon product, but a beast of a lens. I just shot a wedding almost exclusively with this set up and the results were great. I also use the canon battery grip and like the added weight for video. The battery life with the grip and double battery packs is really good. I can shoot all day and still have plenty of battery power left. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an all around monster camera.

So far the camera has been great, I have zero complaints. It performs perfectly, doesnt have any issues that I can see as far as photo quality, mechanical aspects, etc.. I like the flipout screen, mainly because when I put the camera in the bag I can close the screen and know it will get zero damage. Cant really say much else about the camera because its a camera, it does what a camera should. However, its a fantastic camera and Im very happy with it. Some preliminary test shots showed it to be very capable for the subjects I shoot. Actual working shots were fantastic, absolutely on par with what I expect from Canon cameras.

The Canon EOS 80D is a great camera investment in Canons line of DSLR cameras. It fits both beginner and more advanced photographers and has features both will enjoy. The Rebel lines are decent and shoot well but may lack some features such as a top LCD screen to get quick readouts of exposure setting, multiple focus points, and other advanced shooting settings within the camera. The Canon pro series line such as the 5D, 6D, 7D and even the 1DX are out of reach for the majority of consumers because of their high price points due to their premium settings and capabilities. The 80D is the best balance for me and what drew me to it from the Rebel T6S that I was considering beforehand is its ability to shoot time lapse with its built in feature without a remote and the fact that the camera body is built weather sealed. The weather sealing is probably the most important feature to me because I am investing quite a lot of my money into a camera and want it to be able to last long and be durable against the elements. Other than that, the camera feels great in the hands and has a decent weight to it without too much bulk to it. It is very comfortable to bring around to events and photo walks without much strain of carrying it around. Definitely would recommend this to any aspiring photographer or any pro photographer looking to invest in maybe a secondary camera without sacrificing much in features.
IRA –
Very happy with this body. Did a detailed comparison with the 7d mark ii and decided this had all that I was looking for plus some extra features that the 7D Mii didnt have. My criteria was sensor quality, speed and focusing ability. I didnt think I would care about the touch screen, but found it is very helpful for changing settings on the fly. The only thing I dont care for is that you cant change EV or ISO settings with a button or knob. For these you need to either use the touch screen or go into the menu. Most of the bundled items were not important to me. The free Corel software from Adorama is for Windows only and I am a Mac user, so is useless to me. I primarly chose the bundle to get the SD card. Adoramas ordering page is very easy to use and delivery was very prompt.

This is my 4th Canon DSLR, and it is a wonderful value for its features quality. The rotating touch screen, builtin WiFi, autofocus in video, and better dynamic range convinced me to upgrade from my aging 7D.As my title says, it has everything I want, but one BIG thing almost makes this wonderful camera a dealbreaker. And that is the lack of a joystick. Please Canon…you make incredible cameras, but why in the world did you remove the joystick starting back with the 60D It is such a natural way to select the autofocus point, and after owning Canon DSLRs for 10 years, my thumbs muscle memory is suffering terribly now. I keep thinking I will be able to learn to efficiently use the new multidirectional pad, but just the other day I had to quickly change the autofocus point while holding the camera vertically in portrait mode, and I completely missed the shot because my thumb was searching for the very illplaced multidirectional pad.If youve never used the joystick then you will love this camera. If youre like me, then this might just be its demise. I hope I can overcome it. The 7D mk2 has the joystick, but of course lacks the rotating touch screen wifi. I got a wonderful lowtotheground shot of my son the other day using the rotating touch screen in a setting that I wouldnt have laid down on the ground for. So Im stuck in a conundrum as to did I pick the right body. Im not a sports shooter, but tracking my running toddler without a joystick is proving to be incredibly difficult.

The reason I gave this a 4star was that Im not overly pleased with the 18135 Nano lens. Ive read a good deal about the camera and this configuration, and most say the downside to the lens is that it is soft, and I have to agree. I just dont get the sharpness that I thought I would. Ive tried the regular 18135 STM, and I believe that it is sharper, all across the focus range. Im thinking of returning this one, and swapping for the standard 18135 STM lens. I will say one thing for the focusing capability for the Nano, it is extremely quiet, other than that, it is lacking. I plan to use it a great deal over the holiday weekend, and I will see where that leads.

It is very useful, I really liked it. Take very good quality photos, perfect for traveling and taking portraits. I used for almost 1 year or solo before it was robbed at the airport, I liked it, good photos and really nice and striking design. I love it.

80D is a great camera, but has focusing issues with its new lens. Not as sharp as 70D. Perhaps too many focus points are the reason. Did not like spot focus option in manual setting either.New battery is good, but not great. Flash recycling takes a while after it is half down.Canon needs to improve the camera connect app. It connects only if we have a wi fi connection and is very confusing and not simple to use. They should also provide direct connection with a mobile deviceThere are other minor issues as well. I still prefer 70D.

Camera body is not solid like the Nikon. Lens zoom is quiet. Doesnt zoom well in low light. Battery charges pretty quick. Screen still too small. For the price, its O.K. Canon Connect software takes some time to set up on computer and too much video delay. Needs a lot of improvement. I rather hook it up directly via HDMI. You can remotely control camera using software but dont care too much about it. Its more of a distraction when the software is not up to speed. If you are going to by lens, get sigma lens. You get MUCH more for your money.

I switched from Nikon to get into this camera, I heard nothing but good things about it and it definitely lived up to the hype. Takes amazing photos, touch screen is awesome for navigating, feels great in the hand, everything is easy to get to, and video quality is phenomenal. The only things that would make it better would be Dual SD Card slots and CLOG for video, otherwise this camera is fantastic, especially for the price point. Hopefully the 90D or whatever replaces this model checks those boxes and also adds 4k 60p support.

For wedding videography, it is the best I have found. Its auto focus is great, but just average in low light. Once I adjusted its options for my shooting, I love it. As with anything with plenty of options, it took a couple days to get used to it. It is light weight and compact, and allows me to use it all day. I also love that it shoots 60fps and shoot most footage on 60fps, except during a reception, where there is less light. I bought it with the kit 1855mm and love it. It has very quiet and responsive auto focus, and the range is perfect for weddings.

I bought a new Canon EOS80D Camera, a very nice step up from the Digital Rebel EOS XS. The camera is sold as part of an equipment package, with a 55 mm lens and a 250 mm lens. Both lenses have Image Stabilization and Auto Focus. Included in the package were a small tripod, magnifier lenses and three filters. Lens cleaning supplies were in the package. Beach kept their promise for price, package components and delivery performance. Canon provides a paper manual for use of the camera.

Very impressive upgrade from the 70D which in its self was a very good camera. Auto focus in both stills and video is very fast and accurate and the new larger sensor gives sharper images both in ordinary and low light. The new headphone socket for video shooting is a welcome addition and helps monitor sound, especially useful if connecting a microphone to the hotshoe. The inclusion of allowing 50fps when shooting video is another noticeable addition.Overall, worth the money when considering upgrading from the 70D and if this is a first DSLR then you wont be disappointed.

I bought my 80D as an upgrade from my original Rebel T1a. I wanted better focusing, the ability to shoot at higher ISO without noise and the faster frames per second rate of the 80D. I went with the 18135 lens vs the more standard kit lens because I dont want to have to swap lenses so often. In the month Ive owned this camera, I have not been disappointed. The focus capability is so much better than my old Rebel it is unbelievable. Last week we went out to the National Park and I shot about 600 images. There were only two or three that had actual focus problems and a lot of the shots were demanding in focus. The user control over focus options covers virtually everything I can imagine. The upgrade was worth it just for that alone. In my opinion, I can shoot up to 1600 ISO without bothersome noise, compared with 600 or so with my old Rebel. That really helps when shooting bicycle races as the velodrome or other action sports. My only surprise or maybe even disappointment with this camera was the weight. It is definitely heavier than my old Rebel. Still feels good in the hand, but it is heavier. And the 18135 lens is the heaviest EFS lens in my backpack. So the combination is definitely more than my heaviest Rebel combination, but the performance of the pair is way better, so Im not complaining much.

Pros Multipoint focus is fast and accurateArticulating touch screenAccess to live view is easy and useful in some situationsEasy to useVideoCons Replacement batteries are pricey.Other thoughts Bought this as an upgrade to my 40D so I generally knew the layout use. That said, it was easy enough to use that my 14 year old daughter could set it on Av or auto and just start taking pictures. We upgraded from the 40D as we took a trip to Iceland for a week wanted to improve our pictures. We took over 650 pictures plus videos. We arent professionals or even enthusiasts but found that we could get great pictures just relying on the auto settings. Im sure that someone with more skill could really get the results that they want.I really liked the articulating touch screen and access to live view which made it easier to adjust the exposure setting by simply touching on the part of the screen that you wanted to highlight similar to using your iphone. Im still learning how to adjust these settings using the buttons and dials but for first use it was great. The Q button also made it easy to bring up different settings and change them quickly like shifting from one shot to multishot without having to go through a bunch of menus or buttons.I had considered upgrading to the D6 Mark II but didnt like the review I saw on dpreviews. I also thought about switching platforms to Nikon or Sony but already had invested in Canon lenses, flashes, etc. so in the end I decided to go with the D80. Its a huge upgrade in terms of quality, ease of use and function as compared to my D40 as expected given it was 8 years old.Overall, Im very happy with this camera.

This is an excellent camera for those of us that have a need for a good camera but dont want to go full frame. I photograph for a local magazine and this camera works great. I liked it so mcuh I bought a second one used from Adorama for a planned trip to South Africas this fall. The trip was cancelled but I got a great back up camera.

I had a Canon 100D for a couple of years and it was a very good starter camera, but I wanted something that would be a good next step. I finally settled on the 80D as the reviews on this were excellent and I was not disappointed when I finally got one. It is very easy to use and has plenty of good features, most of all being the 45 point AF feature, which can be set for single focus points or zone focus. It also comes with time lapse built in, so anyone wishing to explore that side of photography can have a lot of fun. Definitely worth the money, especially when it comes with the new 18 135mm STM lens which is great for all types of photography
