I have always liked the ease of zoom lenses until I purchased this lens. However, the sharpness and detail this lens records beats any zoom, even the other L range zooms I have, and on an EOS R5 most photos can be cropped to suit anyway. I never thought I would ever go back to using a standard 50mm again, but since buying this lens, I have hardly had it off of my camera. Great lens! One person found this helpful

October 2024 this is an incredible lens. The sharpness is second to non. I love how close I can get to my subject and how the background separates from the subject. Perfect for portraits, wedding and events. It heavy but worth every gram
