I’ve had a long line of Bose earphones/headphones and never had a problem. I was reading reviews (I always go to the bad reviews first) and really couldn’t relate to the experiences. I’ve had every model of wireless Bose earbuds and think that they’ve got better and better. If you’re not bothered about the immersive listening – then look for a pair of last year’s QCII model, because I think that is the only difference. The fitting is a bit of a challenge initially, there is a bit of trial and error in getting both bits of silicon to fit just right. But it is worth persevering because that’s where you’ll get the optimum comfort and noise cancellation – once this is done you are set for good. The key reason I have persisted with Bose is largely comfort – I think that the silicon tips in all Bose earphones sets them apart before we even get to sound. Pairing with an iPhone and the app is pretty straight forward – although sometimes you are paired – you can see it on your phone’s Bluetooth connections and you can hear fine, but the app doesn’t think you’re connected. But it seems to sort itself out. The sound I think is as good as any buds I’ve tried, I also own Airpod Pros and Sony’s media darling WF 1000XM4. Both quite similar in sound – but not as comfortable – especially for long spells of use – and especially the Sonys which I find quite heavy. I’ve not suffered from any white noise or interference on sound. Through the app you can tweak the EQ to your taste – I’ve found that it is really not worth the bother. On to the Immersive Audio – this is the big change from the previous model. It’s far from necessary but when it works well – it is very effective. I’ve largely been using Apple lossless and the results vary a bit. More recent releases like say Billie Eilish sound fantastic – genuinely immersive. On rock, where it works well you get a clarity and separation that unveils hitherto unheard details. Overall I like it and think it’s a decent – if not entirely essential – enhancement. I do listen to most music with Immersion on – so I guess that says something. The only real niggle I have is the lack of wireless charging. Which you can have for £50 in the form of a silicon case on top of the supplied case. Overall these remain the buds to beat for me. 23 people found this helpful

I have had the Bose Sports buds but accidentally lost one so had to purchase a new pair of earphones. I absolutely loved those and thought they couldn’t be beaten but these outdo it with sound. The bass is just enough, not as much as the sport buds but the sound is much clearer and I prefer it. They also stay in my ear better than the sport buds and they have no ear hook. The sound cancelling is mint, I pop these in even when studying without music and drowns the background completely out so highly recommend for that. The ‘aware’ option is also good and helpful when walking so you’re alert to traffic. Comfort is good, have them in for hours and don’t feel them in. The only downside is the in-call quality. I wouldn’t purchase these if it was mainly for that use. It’s hard to hear when they’re in and quite sketchy for the price. However if it is for sound and pleasure I absolutely recommend these earbuds! 11 people found this helpful

I like everything about these buds, they are tremendously comfortable, the sound is great, the ANC is superb and their aware mode is the best I’ve ever used. The app is simple and unfussy and does everything it needs to, the battery life is fine – I tend to use these with full ANC and immersive mode which is the most battery hungry and they still give a good 5-6 hours. The real bugbear of these is the exceptionally fragile and flaky connectivity. I use these a lot and honestly cannot think of a single time when I have not had to pit them back in the case and reconnect at least once, often several times, to get both of them working and playing as they should. It is so frustrating I’ve taken 2 stars off the rating. I have a set of Earfun air pro 4 earbuds too which cost 1/3 the price of these but are pretty much as good in all aspects, the Bose are better for ANC but theres not a whole lot in it ( definitely not £100++ price difference) and the Earfun buds connectivity is rock solid. If money is no object then the Bose overall are nicer, when they connect properly with the bluetooth but the Earfun are only marginally behind and offer vastly better VFM. 2 people found this helpful

Let me start with the “Negatives”. *Bit hard to get out of case due to glossy finish. *3 Band Equalizer on App *Bigger charging case than alternatives (compared to i.e SONY XM4 Buds) On to the Positives: *Premium finish; as soon as you open the case. It just feels solid. *Comfortable fit and Secure *Sound Quality is as expected from BOSE, even without playing with EQ. *Noise Cancelling – look 10× when crossing the road. Impressive. *Clear Mic, other person had no issues. Overall, despite all the bad reviews posted everywhere, I was “expecting” them and thought, “these needs to go back, without even opening.” These are one of the best In-headphones I’ve owned. Wireless charging not fussed about that. Happy and Satisfied.

I mostly use these buds when walking my doggo in the mornings (missus is still in bed, so this is “me time”) and they’re what our friends across the pond would call a “game changer”. They fit my ears really well, haven’t fallen out or even needed shoving back in a bit and they do this without feeling tight. Perfectly comfortable even after wearing them for over an hour and a half (yes, doggo gets a good walk in the morning). These are most comfortable buds I’ve ever used. When I use them on the bike, they stay in place, even when I’ve got a dab on. Sound wise they’re pretty damned good. There is a saying, “No highs, no lows, they must be Bose” but that isn’t a criticism I would level at these; good frequency response with no noticeable bumps or dips. I thought the one cymbals on Hotel California were a little messy and had to listen to the track on my main hifi… the messiness is on the track!
Now for the best bit, the noise cancellation can only be described as “WTF?”. Very impressive! The raucous noise of the pub near closing time fades into a background murmur. Humming and clicking noises of the office almost disappear completely. Traffic noise is almost completely eliminated. On a dog walk a few days ago, I felt the ground shaking and thought “What, is this an earthquake?” then the lorry passed me. I nearly jumped out of my skin! No more noise than a breath of wind… incredible. Can’t wait to wear these on my next long haul flight, bring your screaming babies on board, I don’t care! Another plus with noise cancelling is that you can listen to music at a much lower volume and still hear it all. Controls are standard stuff, 1 tap to play, pause and answer calls. 2 taps to skip a track or hang up a call but with these you swipe up and down to control the volume. Piece of cake. Press and hold to change noise cancelling modes. I always opt for “Immersion”. If I had to nit-pick, I’d say they could go up a little louder, but then I’ve got old fart’s ears and am probably going a bit mutton. Also, the app has a bit of trouble connecting to them sometimes Overall I’m mightily impressed, well Done Bose. Fab gear! 14 people found this helpful

Sound Quality – Excellent, especially immersive! Bass is also great quality
App – Great when it works. Sometimes causes connection issues so once you start your session, best to close the app. Fit – Slightly annoying! Tested all combinations and found one that will work for now. Fit is great for everything except running where you get the occasional ‘thud’ and have to adjust. If returned – this would be the only reason. Cheaper earphones (Jaybird, Jabra) give better fit but sound quality nowhere near as good. Buttons – Great when you get used to them. Price – OK on the £250 deal. Wouldnt pay £300. One person found this helpful
