Im just gonna say, this thing is heavy. I get it, it has to be to balance out the weight of the iPad. Still, it does take away from the airy feeling of the iPad, and its less flexible because you cant just fold it back out of the way. That being said, the better and lighted keyboard are really useful, and being able to have something holding the iPad at a viewing angle is definitely nice. I did end up buying the regular case so that I can switch to it for more casual use. The way the magnetic attachment works with the new cases makes using and switching them a breezebig improvement over the old versions where it was hard to get the iPad inout. Four stars on value only because its crazy expensive.

I was skeptical at first about this folio but I am really liking this choice. I added a cover buddy and a screen protector for extra protection. The keys light up so I can type at night and I really enjoy the angle of the IPad with this folio. Sure, not having the volume controls on the keyboard is inconvenient, EXCEPT you have access to the volume controls on the side of the iPad itself. You can get a screenshot by simply pressing the onoff button and the volume buttons simultaneously. Easy You can escape from a screen by moving the circular cursor with the track pad and clicking on the bottom bar. EASY With my modifications, I feel my IPad is well protected and not too heavy.

Really takes iPad productivity to the next level. Little things, like how the mouse pointer interacts with buttons, show the amount of effort Apple put into the user experience. The build quality is on par with other Apple products excellent. It does add some bulk but if you spend most of your iPad time in landscape then you will love this. It is pricey but if you want the Rolls Royce of tablet keyboards then look no further.

Magic Keyboard iPad Pro, wow where do I begin…this accessory brought new ways to the iPad experience that I never could imagine. Firstly, the packaging it came in, as with all Apple Products you get attention to detail on the packaging, as well as when you crack into the box after pulling the handy pull tab that is on the corner. The only thing youll find in the box is some paperwork, plastic, and your keyboard itself, so dont be looking around for any cables or anything. Once out you can connect the iPad to the magic keyboard, which is just a couple of strong magnets on the back of the Magic Keyboard and Integrated into the iPad itself, so it gives itself a secure grip once connected into place, so do not worry your iPad will not fall out of the case once its in, but if you wish to take it off do not worry either as with a nice tug your iPad will be set free for you can enjoy tablet mode once again. Unlike other keyboards, this one is a direct connection with the iPad itself, and of course since it is made by Apple you get the full intentions of what Apple wished the iPad to be, like a computer….well sort of. The keyboard does add a little bit of weight on the iPad itself, so be prepared for that, but I did not notice a drastic increase as I am used to using a MacBook Pro. The keyboard itself is backlit, so working at night is a breeze, and the actual keys itself are pretty clicky and super responsive. Also embedded in the keyboard is some shortcut keys, if you are used to MacOS they kind of follow to an extent in iPadOS. Speaking of the keyboard, if you dont wish to have the backlight on in the day time, simply go to settingsgeneralkeyboardhardware keyboard then simply change the brightness to your desired level. The trackpad, however is a different, but very useful experience for the iPad. It brings a new light to it, and makes it really comparable to a modern laptop, or even a lower model MacBook. The trackpad is responsive as well, and allows you to click anywhere on the screen. Also on the keyboard itself, there is an additional USBC port, which allows you to do pass through charging on the iPad to leave the main USBC port on your iPad freed up for anything you wish to use it for. My only downside of the keyboard is that it doesnt protect the sides of the iPad, so i suggest getting a tablet sleeve, or even a laptop sleeve thatll fit it if you plan on carrying it around places that might ding the sides. Other than that, if you get Apple Care Plus for your iPad which i highly recommend it will also cover the Magic Keyboard that you buy for the length of your protection on your ipad Each subject to a 29 dollar service fee for the keyboard itself of course Some people may think the price is too high for what it is, yes its a 350 dollar keyboard, but its more than a keyboard its an amazing accessory for your iPad especially if you use it on the daily. Plus with price being mentioned, you can always apply for the credit card that BestBuy offers, and if you get approved you can finance this keyboard interest free for either 12 months or 6 months which is amazing I think, I chose the 12 month financing Anyway, I love this keyboard…and I think any other iPad Pro user will to

This connects very easily, automatically even. Just position the iPad on it the way it says it starts working. You can easily move between using this, the pencil, or your finger. I do have issue with when Ive cut pasted a hyperlink on it that it doesnt copy the link in a way in which it connects when clicked. I assume thats an issue I can look into overcome, but I havent done so yet. The keyboardcase is sturdy provides a lot of protection when closed up. The iPad also surprisingly stays put although it doesnt seem like it will since its just resting on it not attached. Overall, really happy I went ahead purchased.

Bought this my 12.9 iPad Pro for the laptop feel. I previously had a brydge keyboard which worked well but was a pain to take the iPad in and out of. The Apple Magic Keyboard is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Its a great keyboard and great mousingtrackpad experience on the iPad. I sold my MacBook a few years back and got an iMac and now i like to use my iPad for couch web surfing. The brydge keyboard was nice but i would always reach for the trackpad that wasnt there. Having the trackpad is a game changer with the new iPadOS. Works perfect for me and does exactly what i wanted it to do.
Ben –
Gamechanger as advertised. This nifty little accessory weighs just enough to keep the iPad Pro from tipping forward while not feeling too heavy to carry around. If not for the pandemic Id totally be at my local Starbucks Flexing Hard with this bad boy lol All jokes aside, the travel on the keys is excellent and the backlighting adjusts with the ambient light around you. The trackpad may need adjusting for speed in the settings app. The magnetic technique was definitely the way to go because I can just pop off the iPad Pro when I need to draw and just pop it onto my other case with magnets and a drawing angle. I use this keyboard as a Charging Dock too. Super easy, just pop on the iPad and it starts charging. A great investment for small business and independent artists who have to do more than just be a creative but manage different aspects of their business. This thing ruined me. I cant go back to not having the trackpad and keyboard after this. Highly recommended.
Adrian –
This case will make your laptop as close to a laptop as possible. The keys have a great feel. Better than the majority of the ultra book laptops I use. The track pad is great. Nice feel to the clicks. Typical Apple track pad quality. This keyboard cover is great for using your iPad on your lap. It is not flimsy at all. The magnets on the stand are very strong. I carry the iPad around like its a laptop with no issues. With the extra USB port on the cover, it allows me to leave the case plugged in and take the iPad on and off the cover to use for work presentations quickly then drop it back on the cover for instant charging.
RAnt –
Love it. Yeah a bit pricey, but got it 100 off regular price. It is a tad on the heavy side, but not an issue for me. It actually balances really well on my lap or wherever I use it, also just make a great stand for watching movies, etc. They keyboard feels good, but I would like to see a functionkey row. The touchpad works well….Ive not gotten it to work exactly like a MacBook touchpad yet, but its a minor adjustment. Overall Id do it again, but still dont think I could justify the full original price.
Nate –
The keyboard does not fold flat for use as a tablet, however removing and placing the iPad on the keyboard is a breeze. The magnets are pretty strong and hold the iPad wonderfully while being able to remove it easily by just grabbing it. Ive heard complaints about the weight but I dont mind as it is slightly top heavy as it is.ProsCan charge wirelessly through the keyboard, leaving the iPad usbc port free for other options.Seems to add much needed protection to the iPad.Light up keyboard is nice. The adjustable angle works very smooth.ConsSometimes unresponsive with the mousepad clicks but generally works great. Maybe an iPad issue and not the keyboard itself. The cable to hdmi does not work with the keyboard usbc port. You MUST use the iPads USBC port to stream to tv for the hdmi cable.
Izzy2720 –
So far so good I purchased the magic keyboard first gen after finding out I could use this with my new M1 iPad what a great deal. Only downfall is there is no pencil 2 holder so I must be extra careful not to lose it while transporting my iPad from place to place. Last thing is the lack of function keys but aside from these two minor problems the build is great and it functions perfect with my M1. I couldnt be happier as there are no bugs or glitches as you would find with some third party vendors.
RShackleford –
This keyboard transformed my iPad Pro into a device that I can perform 99 of my work and personal tasks on. I rarely take it off of the keyboard when working. I was afraid that it would be awkward when using on my lap but it performs well. The viewing angles are good and the balance of the keyboard with ipad is what makes this keyboard different from other available options. If this keyboard had a function key row, I would have zero nitpicks. The track pad is the best part, It spoiled me. The addition of 1 more USB C port is welcomed as well.
WHinCT –
Given the sale price and a new iPad Pro made me consider this keyboardmouse pad. It is well built, sturdy and love the touch of the keyboard and backlighting.Id love to give it 5 stars but there is a major design flaw any apps you use on the iPad that are in Portrait only mode render this keyboard useless. So super fast for email and web surfing but many of my apps limit its usage. Perhaps if it could attach magneticallly in either portrait or landscape mode it would be a bigger sellerNo regrets still glad I purchased a sturdy casekeyboard. The 99 folio cover isnt worth the money. My 11 iPad Pro case fell apart at the seams after only 1 year.
Nick –
This is a great keyboard. Its got lots of the buttons you might need in order to operate your iPad Pro. The keyboard is not as heavy as other people think it is. It does not scratch the display of your iPad. Its got a really nice illuminated LED keypad. However, it doesnt have any shortcut buttons, and its VERY EXPENSIVE Thats the only reason I returned mine.
LisaMW123 –
I love this keyboardcover So easy to use, magnetic, no clicking in and out. Finally a touchpad. My previous iPad Pro had a keyboard cover and I always looked for touchpad in the empty space. There are some things that just need better precision with a mouse or touchpad. I only wish this could also lay flat so I can take notes on the screen with the iPencil rather than having to take it off completely. I use this for notes at work, no more paper or notebooks Only downside is the price, too expensive.

I really like this thing. Also I am very satisfied with Best Buys service, especially during this hard time. They allowed me 30 days to return a product. I had the Logitech Slim Folio Pro. I liked it, but I really thought a product like this would be more fitting. I tried the Smart Keyboard too and liked it, but no backlight and not enough protection. This case does not offer as much as the Logitech, but it offers so much more in terms of versatility. I guarantee you arent going to find a better keyboardmouse for this computer that also acts as a case. The only way to get better than this is to go external. Hands down. And because of Best Buys awesome service, I was able to exchange my Logitech curbside, and put the money toward this thing. It is an engineering masterpiece, just like many of Apples products that dont have butterfly switches and dont overhead and cant express enough how much I appreciated getting 140 off of it because I changed my mind.My only complaint is that the keyboard does not fold back like the Smart Keyboard. I loved that feature. That being said, it is extremely easy to remove the screen from the keyboard case. It just floats there and you just grab the ipad and start drawing right away if you are ready. Thanks Best Buy, and whoever reads this I hope you and your family are safe.

The new Apple Magic Keyboard for the IPad Pro 11 and 12.9inch model is the best keyboard I have ever used. I have been looking to turn my iPad into a laptop replacement, and after only 24 hours with the keyboard, this is as close as it gets at this point. The keys are better than my MacBook, and the trackpad with its gestures works like my MacBook as well, so the transition from laptop to iPad is seamless for any Mac user. The builtin USBC port on the side of the Magic keyboard allows you to plug in without any crazy wires hanging off the side of the iPad. That frees up the USBC charging port, which can make all the difference in the world to anyone trying to multitask using other devices that plug into the iPad.The keyboard is a bit heavy, but not overly burdensome to the point that you would find it overwhelming. The reason for the weight is to make sure that your iPad stays firmly in place, and you dont have a bouncing tablet keyboard that feels flimsy and cheap. In the past, I have used other Zagg and Logitech keyboards, and I have thought that they lacked a premium feel, which this keyboard solves 1000 times over. The price tag for this keyboard is on the high side of the spectrum, and when I say HIGH, I mean the very TOP The quality and the functionality of this keyboard outshine the price tag, and you will not be disappointed. I give this keyboard 5 STARS.
Shawn –
I chose this keyboard over the logitech one vecause of the way the ipad looks on it. Having it hover in the air makes it look so elegant. It lacks volume controls and brightness etc, but that doesnt bother me as i typically just use the hard buttons in the ipad. Thr ipad also cant swivel 90 degrees which sucks because some apps only work in portait mode, but i got over it. The keys feel amazing to type with, and they also look and feel premium. Overall i say its an amazing keyboard, only lacks a feel things. If you want more versatility, go with the logitech, but if you want a premium nice feeling keyboard, stick with this one.

Love this Apple Magic Keyboard.Just open and ready to use.Plug in and it Charges the iPad.Also enjoy the convenience of being able to charge the Apple Pencil via magnetically storing on top of the Apple Magic Keyboard while plugged in.The keyboard is touch sensitive and works seamlessly with the iPad. Love the integrated mouse . Its nice having the option of also being able to utilize the touch screen. Its great having multiple options for interacting based on usage style.Another great feature is being able to have angle flexibility with the screen. The Magic keyboard is compact and versatile. Elevates the level of the IPad into a laptop with more capabilities.

Took Apple long enough to make a keyboard for the ipad however, they did it right. Just snapped the ipad on and wham the keyboard works. You dont have to turn it on, you dont have to charge it, it just works. Each time you open the ipad, you can just start typing, it just works. It is amazing I know why they call it a magic keyboard compared to every other tablet keyboard I have used the Apple keyboard IS MAGICAL. Guess you could say that I am happy with my purchase.
Pointclickbamm –
I would give 5 stars instead of 4 if not for two thingsThe price should be 100 less, at the very least have some bundle that offers a discount if you buy an IPad Pro and the magic keyboard case at the same time, could have one that offers the Apple Pencil as well. The second would be the very limited range of motion with how far you can angle the ipad and the fact that you cant fold it like the folio. I understand why you cant, dont get me wrong. It just gets a little irritating that youve got to detach the ipad any time you want to use it while standing. The magnets at least make this a quick and simple process.
Mmmel00 –
This key board looks sleek. Its cool how it appears your iPad is floating. Its a regular keyboard. My old iPad keyboard case had more functions and controls on the keyboard like sound, brightness, screen shot, etc. It would be nice if you could rotate your screen too. The keyboard doesnt fold completely back so if you open an app that is only portrait, not landscape, then its awkward to use. Also, I know the iPad is already heavy itself but I feel it would help more if the keyboard was heavier because if its not on a flat surface, it falls over very easily. For example, if youre using it in your lap, in bed, or where ever on the go, it becomes extremely annoying.
Schmoop –
The Keyboard and magic pad are awesome. As close as possible to being on a laptop. I can definitely see me bringing this iPad on a trip and not needing my MacBook at all.The only downside, which I didnt consider, so I am not sure that is a down side is, when closed it looks like any iPad casecover, but when open to use the iPad vertically, the case doesnt fold over flat way I am used to with my prior smaller iPad cases. That makes it a bit awkward when trying to use vertically. It folds so you can use it as pictured above. If anyone can tell me otherwise please doI have since bought a regular case and have been using that for everyday, when I want to use it in place of my laptop I switch. Closed it is easy enough to keep in my backpack and not get in the way.
Nicole –
Loving this keyboard. Im new to apple after a lifetime of PCs and androids. I didnt need the bells and whistles of a Mac but I did want to upgrade to a tablet that is just as capable. When I saw the keyboard that I could order with the iPad, I jumped on it. It works great, buttons are illuminated and easy to push and it charges along with the iPad. My husband has a cheaper, generic keyboard that has had its disappointments so when he saw my apple keyboard he was envious It may seem a bit overpriced which of course it is but when you compare his to mine, you realize that you get what you pay for.
Techuser –
I have a 4 year old iPadPro with the prior generation keyboardcover and this one is only better in keyboard touchfeel. It is heavy, and holds the Pro at only 1 angle, and must essentially be laid flat unless you want it to tip over when using at an angle. Even the prior generation Pro keyboard wasis more useful because it does not have to delicately balance to be useful. I wonder who the beta test group was that this is the product they ended up with, given that they had a good design before.
MNHTguy –
I bought my iPad Pro the big one only after reading the many positive comments about the Magic Keyboard. I dont like craddeling my wifes iPad Pro vs using my laptop to surf. Based on all the commentary, I bought the iPad Pro and the Magic Keyboard. I was immediately impressed with the creative design, how it also serves as cover, and the quality tactile feel of the keys. Its an expensive addon, but essential to me as I would not have purchased the iPad Pro without this keyboard. I remain very pleased with it, and seem to carry my iPad everywhere I go now. Highly recommended accessory.
MrsPCOG –
Yes, I highly recommend the magic keyboard. My typing feels so natural and the floating design is very appealing. The trackpad is very nice to use and very much feels like a laptop. Ive never owned a Mac so I cant compare this to a Mac computer, but I must say this feels very much like a laptop computer. I almost purchased the MacBook Air in addition to my IPad Pro but so happy I didnt now with this magic keyboard purchase. I find everything I need to do very much at ease with this keyboard. Im still learning the gestures for the trackpad and all the tipstricks for the keyboard but yes I again highly recommend. This is pricey but I think its worth the investment for your IPad Pro. Im returning my Logitech slim folio since the magic keyboard feels more natural for my typing and comfortable. Wish the best
JIG9 –
I got this carrying case because I wanted a better keyboard than what I was using before. And, it is a better keyboard. The touch and feel is much better and the keys have a reasonable amount of travel before sending the character to the iPad. Previous keyboards that I had for iPads did not have enough travel and too sensitive. Consequently, with them I had many typos just from finding the home keys. With this Magic Keyboard, my error rate during typing has been greatly reduced. This unit is not perfect though. Some programs games require the iPad to be in portrait mode, it does NOT allow that. Another issue is that in some cases I want to use the unit as a tablet and draw using the Apple pencil. To do that, I must remove the iPad from the keyboard and hold it. But the iPad is hard to hold by itself due to it being too slick and thing. I recommend this keyboard but the user needs to think ahead about how they want to use it and make sure it fits their style of usage.

I love this new iPad Pro 12.9 Go big I got it to replace my MacBook Pro 2010 yes old… this is way better to carry around, its touch screen, and has everything I need. I works get with the Apple Pencil and I just added the magic insane keyboard, and the new black apple mouse and everything flows and works seamlessly, Now my iPad is even more awesome I also added the hyper drive to save my work The camera on this things is awesome, and has plenty of new filter functions for taking pictures or editing. I do and will recommend the new IPad Pro to anyone who loves to design, and create to bring things too life. ENJOY your new iPad…I hope this REVIEW helped you make up your mind.
Rick25 –
I absolutely love this keyboard I learned to type using the touch system and I cannot type well on a touch screen keyboard. This has all the feel of a full size keyboard yet is compact. While it does not have all the extra keys of a laptop keyboard it is still very good. It serves also as a case so 2 functions in one. I am highly satisfied with this keyboard. I have not used my laptop since I got this. I hugely recommend it
TwoWheelr –
Best Buy offered this magic keyboard for 150 off list price. I ordered one, not knowing it was for the 4th gen iPad Pro 12.9. I planned to return it until the Best Buy folks advised it would work on the latest IPad.ProsTrackpad with gestures like a laptop trackpadA USB C port that can be used to charge the iPadBacklit and dimmable keyboardGreat feel and touch for typingProgrammable keysMore features i havent mastered yet.Alway connected no waiting for power or Bluetooth connection.ConsOnly works in landscape modeNo function keys
The626Tech –
keyboard is great. no input lag, track pad gestures work without issues. Wish it tilted a little bit more just slightly. angle is fine, works great with the added anker usb c dongle i purchased as well. No longer own my laptop as most things i did work well on ipad with added portability bonus. Does add a little weight to it. This paired with apple pencil is the way to go.
DamienChaos –
This is a great piece of hardware that provides a far better typing experience than Apples smart folio keyboard. It does make the iPad a bit bulkier and heavier, and isnt spillproof like the folio keyboard but if none of those are big concerns for you definitely choose this as your keyboard option, particularly if you can catch it on sale. The only other advice I have is to NOT buy this Open Box sightunseen. I originally ordered an Open Box Excellent product and it arrived looking more worn than the smart folio keyboard Ive been using daily for two years. I promptly returned it and simply bought new the apparent wear wasnt worth the modest savings.
ChanelZ –
I was very skeptical on buying this. I went back and forth multiple times on whether I should actually spend the money on it. Now I cant see myself without this. It is very worth it. The typing experience is more pleasant than my Mac. It is somewhat heavier but it doesnt bother me. It makes it feel like a more luxury product which I appreciate. The only thing Id change is the material. It does get dirty fast, but I wipe it down with a baby wipe and problem solved.
Bryanmsi –
Obscenely overpriced and worth every penny. This keyboard completely transforms the iPad Pro experience and starts to deliver on the replace your computer line Apple has been spouting recently. It is heavy and feels like it was hewn out of a solid block of iron. Weights like it was as well. It literally has weights in the front to keep the iPad from tipping backwards. Key feel is incredibly good one of my all time favorite keyboards. It makes a delightful thunk when used on a lap. Trackpad is really really good too. Clickable anywhere and supports all the multitouch gestures. It would be nice if the ipad was able to tip backwards just a bit, but it is very useable. Biggest issue is that the Apple Pencil attaches magnetically to the top of the iPad and when being carried is easy to knock off.Overall, like many Apple products it seems both overpriced and worth the money. If you use your iPad for any kind of writing you really should try this keyboard.
DanTom2012 –
My husband and I bought the Magic Keyboard with the newest iPad Pro. It provides a laptoplike experience thats unmatched by anything else in the market. The keyboard does incredibly well in terms of functionality. The keyboard is topnotch and feels natural. The backlit keys automatically adjust their brightness which is great The trackpad works great as well Love where the charging port is…very pleased with this product.
ShieldUser2020 –
I love this keyboard. Yes it is rather expensive for what his essentially a keyboard case, but I love it. I find myself using it on a daily basis. I have switched between this keyboard and a Speck case its so simple to remove…as easy as separating two magnets but have decided to just leave it attached full time. It doesnt have the best protection, but you wouldnt buy it for the protection. I charge my iPad Pro and iPhone together using the keyboard. I love it
David –
Ok this is pricey especially for the 12.9 IPad Pro. I really looked at cheaper options. But let me tell you that I do not regret the purchase as it has transformed my IPad into a laptop instantly. Many products claim to do this and do to some level. But the keyboards feel all fall short in comparison. But to type on this is a dream. Its is 100 Quality. The track pad is perfect with a few tweaks in settings. I did add a skin to the key board cover as it reduced the finger prints and increased better grip. I also use a UAG laptop case made for Mac laptops and it has added a very solid level of protection to the IPad and Key board. Im very, very satisfied with this keyboard, magnets holding the IPad and the hinge system in a magical way.Over all I would recommend and repeat this purchase choice. Buy it Its Wonderful
JJinatlanta –
So yes, this thing is really expensive in my opinion. Paid over 1000 for the ipad pro 12.9 in the first place, and this was 300……..Swallowed hard, but decided to get it. Glad I did. This really does transform the experience and makes a quantum leap towards making the ipad experience more like a computer. With file manager, a more normal mouse icon and a touch pad that is plenty responsive and where the haptic feels right unlike a Dell XPS which feels clunky, this will really speed up your experience and change the way you use an Ipad. One star off because of the inability to open the case up and have the ipad lay flat for this much money, it should have been thought through a bit more. That said, the battery life is terrific, the keyboard is smooth, the magnet is strong to hold the Ipad in place all good. A little nit heavier than I want, but I think you trade weight for stability.
RandyDaytona –
Love it. Love the intuitive backlight on the keyboard, the scissor keys, the feel and extra usb c it gives you. Makes your iPad like a laptop. The mouse pad is awesome and you can do all the same things on it like a MacBook. It is heavy. Weighs as much as the iPad itself but it is great. I dont like that you cant have a case on the iPad for when you remove it from the keyboard like the previous model. I really liked that but it is still nice that it protects the entire iPad. Does pick up oils from your fingers though. So you have to wipe it or it starts looking dirty. Even though it costs as much as a cheap iPad well more lol its still worth it.
RavenS50 –
My very first tablet and iPad 12.9 inch iPad ProCouldnt decide between 11 inch or 12.9 Lol. Well, Im very happy with my choice going bigger. I was worried about the reviews saying too heavy or bulky. Forking out the moola for the magic keyboard wasnt an easy decision either. Still think its too expensive, but for me its a must Very easy to use, plus protects my iPad. Very high quality. I like the floating concept vs the non floating keyboard. Its very solid stable. Im satisfied with the angle adjustment. Yes, its a little bulky on my lap, but not in a bad way. Its more than fine with me. I dont have anything to compare it to since this is my first tablet ever Im very satisfied with the iPad Pro 12.9 inch size with accommodating Magic Keyboard
BicBoi –
The keyboard is definitely a huge change and improvement to the iPad Pro. Allows me to do school work much easier especially typing up papers. The swipe features are super convenient on the mousepad and helps avoid constant strain to raise arm constantly to move around the iPad.Only thing I dont like is the material. Its grippy but it picks up marks easily and dust. The price of this keyboard on top of the iPad also makes brings the price close to my high end gaming laptop which is wild especially with the limitations you get on iPad OS. Overtime I do believe apps will update and take advantage of the keyboard.
ss8000 –
Id read many reviews of the magic keyboard before deciding to purchase it, and after using it for a few hours, Im thrilled that I did and compelled to write a review. Im using it now to write this review. The scissorswitch keys are a joy to type on, and I completely forget that Im typing on a keyboard attached to a tablet. This keyboard has the feel of a laptop keyboard. Where its lacking, noticeably Ill add, is in the keys that are missing as other reviewers have noted. I would have loved to have had function keys and an escape key. It has above average weight, more than the iPad Pro itself, which makes the combination feel more like the weight of a 15 laptop than an onthego tablet. Although its heavy, it at least feels very sturdy and at the same time, manages to feel sleek. The trackpad is outstanding, and Ive used it a lot more than I initially thought I would. The gestures work great, and I like that you can click anywhere on the trackpad. The magnets on the cover hold the iPad Pro in place perfectly, and I have no concerns that its going to slip inadvertently from the keyboard case. While the magnets provide a reliable hold, its not difficult to pull the tablet away when you want to grab it and draw or simply lose the extra weight. And you will likely be pulling it from the keyboard case regularly, as you cant flip the case or flatten it in any way. But if youre looking for a pro keyboard to pair with your pro tablet, look no further. If you can live with the price, theres no keyboard that I could imagine bringing the iPad Pro closer to a laptop replacement than the Magic Keyboard.Pros Exceptional typing feel and keyboard sizespacing The trackpad works excellent, providing many more use cases than I initially thought it would The floating view looks great, and viewing angles are adequate for most scenarios Backlit keys Passthrough USBC charging keeps a sleek look with no hanging cables Great magnetic hold, while still allowing you to detach the iPad easilyCons The price, obviously No function keys, keyboard settings are a bit difficult to find and adjust Theres no way to flip the keyboard around and lay it flat for handwriting or drawing you need to detach the iPad to do that

I have owned and tried other keyboards Brydge, etc to attempt to make my iPad Pro 3rd gen a true laptop replacement. The Magic Keyboard has actually caused me to ditch my MacBook Air for almost everything I do.The typing experience is out of this world. The hinge and magnetic components make it feel truly magical as only Apple can.The construction feels very solid.Cons open sides still concern me, it is definitely not a full case. I bought a sleeve when I carry it outside.Weight the keyboard weighs about the same as the iPad, so it does double the weight when carrying it together. However, I also feel like the sleight helps with the balance of the iPad when typing.Price I got mine open box from BestBuy, saved 100. Still 250 is a lot for a keyboard

Keys have good travel and feel solid. Trackpad is a bit small, and the screen hangs over the number key row, so some interference there. Would have been nice if Apple included a keyboard backlight option for quick access in Control Center. To change brightness, you must go to Settings, which takes several keystrokes. Viewing angles are very limited.Best Feel and travel of the keysWorst No shortcuts on the keyboard, and the screen hangs too close over the number row.Overall implementation of the keyboard is not quite as good as Samsungs for the Tab S6, but it is very good.

I couldnt wait to buy this case but was extremely disappointed. I bought it for the sturdier hinge that would keep the screen in place, like a laptop. Perhaps I should have known this, but it only open about 75 degrees and then you tilt it. There is no ability for the case to fold all of the way back like Ive been able to with my previous one. There is also no place to protect the pencil. I have a feeling in 6 months were all going to get suckered into buying another version of this that has the additional features this one lacks.

Ill be honest by stating up front that my work paid for this keyboard case and theres no way I would have paid for it out of my own pocket.ProsI like the backlight keys, which are surprisingly quiet and comfortable, and having a trackpad. It definitely feels solid which is good since you dont want your expensive iPad to tip over with the slightest bump. There is a satisfying click when opening the case and the ability to angle the screen is nice. I also appreciate the extra charging port it gives my iPad.ConsThis thing is heavy Pair it with the iPad, especially the 13er and you are pretty much carrying around a laptop. I think its even heavier than my Dell work laptop. Also, the trackpad can be annoying and not sense clicks sometimes. With experimentation, I think its the apps I use as it always seems to be fine with Apples first party apps but a lot more hitandmiss with 3rd party apps.

First of all the keyboard leaves no wishes openIlluminated keys, touchpad, sturdy build which will protect the device, charging can be done through the keyboard, Device turns automatically on when the screen gets tilted step 2 after opening, keys have enough depth to give a good type feeling. But what I really like about it is the sturdiness You can open it, and put it onto your lap starting working. It is not like the other flappy things which fall apart once starting to type and which can simply not being used otherwise. Unfortunately this great feature comes also with a price When you are trying to use the iPad in portrait mode, you want most likely to peel the tablet out of the keyboard folder as it is a tad awkward to use the tablet as a tablet. One comment for Apple to make it perfect The plug for the USBC charger in the keyboard is a round tube. Why not allow the user to put the pen in there for travellingThe UI got changed to be a bit playful when using the touchpad E.g. when hovering the cursor which is only a round circle over e.g. icons, they wiggle around. Nice touch Even though I wished that a Tap like on a pc is doing the click and not a real click would be required. What it didnt do however was to give the device a more Pro feeling as the software is still the same e.g. using Lightroom gives you still only the mobile version on a 13 notebook screen with the limited feature set. Even moreso I was astounded to see that even simpler programs like the gMail web version shows up only as the mobile version.Unfortunately there is a downside to this great keyboard It is the magic price. One can get a nice notebook these days for the keyboard alone which is equally thin or even thinner than the iPad sandwich and can run really Pro applications with more features.

Unfortunately the promised Saturday delivery turned into a Wednesday delivery of the next week. FedEx is horrible, as I had three delivery dates, and it sat in SLC for four days. The device.I love rigidity, and this thing has very positive closing, opening to the break where the top half of the back continues to a proper viewing angle. The keys feel very comfortable, no lag, nice backlighting, and nice travel with good feedback. The touch pad is great, but does not work intuitively for all functions. The bad. The USBC pass through is a bunch of wasted space, and it should be occupied with a small battery, or additional ports. The exterior material and feel is very 2008, and should have been updated to something more modern and I suspect something more durable. Since this thing is going to be folded every time by everyone to put away, not only are the hinge seams going to fail, but the pass through port loose material cover is going to fail. This is not speculation, it is fact based upon previous experience with this material and its short life in flexible applications. The best example and direct comparison is with cell phone cases made of the exact same poly blend material.I was happy to hear that my Apple Care for my 2020 iPad Pro covers the magic keyboard.Reading the reviews, I believe most are accurate, all be it subjective as experiences vary.

This keyboard is absolutely fantastic Ive been a heavy iPad user since 2015 when I bought an iPad mini as an ereader. When I combined the iPad mini with a bluetooth keyboard I started using it as more of a note taking device for classes. I soon upgraded to the 9.7 iPad pro and soon after that went for the 2nd gen 12.9 Pro. At that point I really started using my ipad as my only computer, for writing papers, taking notes and everything else. I was so happy when they came out with iPadOS 13 that added mouse support but the only good option was to have a separate, keyboard, mouse, and stand, and even then it was impossible to use in my lap. Additionally, it required me to constantly take my hands off the keys. I know that it really only takes minimal effort to lift my hands up to the screen when its needed and I dont think it takes much longer, but sometimes interacting with the screen can become a major distraction and that is where time gets wasted. Now you might be saying that if I get distracted by touching the screen then I should just get an actual laptop, the problem is, I love the ipad ecosystem because I use the pencil all the time to annotate papers and articles. So what this keyboard does is allow me the versatility to use my ipad as whatever device Id like, whether its an ereader, writing, or drawing, I can do it all. This just makes ipad a much better device to type on when Im on the go in the airport, or sitting anywhere else I dont have a desk to use. I can now clean out my bag so that Im not carrying around so many accessories but still have everything I need. The typing feels really good and the trackpad is amazing. This really makes the iPad the device I want and need it to be. I love how easy it is to disconnect, there are no hinges or rubber corners to remove the ipad from. Its as simple as lifting the ipad from a table. The magnets are super solid, the ipad isnt going to fall out easily. Having a keyboard and trackpad that I can take anywhere is going to be so nice

I really love the magic keyboards convenient and slim fit design. It is easy to remove the ipad from the magnetic keyboard. I also love its elegant look. However, it is very expensive. I have to start to save money for months and wait for a good deal to buy this product. I love the experience that I can carry it around and work with my ipad Pro like a laptop. I really increase my productivity. Its drawback is lacking of functional keys and price.

Lets start with the obvious con the price. This is definitely an expensive accessory for the already expensive IPad Pro 12.9 model. I was previously using a Bluetooth keyboard in conjunction with my iPad and while it was fine to use, the whole system felt clunky. In the hunt for a way to make my IPad Pro function even more like a laptop without having to buy a MacBook Pro, I decided to go ahead and buy this keyboard. Heres what I have foundWhile expensive, I truly do feel as though its cost is somewhat justified. The typing experience is amazing and even while being thin, the keyboard has excellent travel, and in no way feels cramped or flimsy. If anything, it feels very sturdy and although the top of the case is heavier to help counter balance the weight, you can very comfortably rest this on your lap and type without any issues. While I feel as though without certain shortcut keys they couldve knocked about 50 at least off of the price, it is an amazing keyboard. It truly has made my IPad Pro feel like an actual laptop replacement and not just a tablet that I need to carry around an extra keyboard to use. If a laptop is more for you, then the MacBook Air would be an excellent alternative for function and price. But for me, I love the variety of functions I get with the IPad Pro, not to mention the wonderful Apple Pencil integration and touch screen features which MacBooks dont have. Overall, if you have the money to spring for this keyboard, I highly recommend it. You wont be disappointed.

Pros Works very well with iPad Pro. Keys are very responsive and feel more like a standard PC keyboard.Cons I would like the screen to tilt back more perhaps this is because Ive got accustomed to the on screen keyboard of the old iPad.I know the screen of a PC is quite vertical but the keyboard would normally be further away from the monitor. This layout does give me neck ache. I guess Ill get used to this minor problem. Over priced of course.

Love the keyboard, love the pencil, love the whole thing I know Im not yet using the iPad Pro like a pro but it is a lot of fun and I am learning to use it as a business tool as well. I have found compatibility issues with Microsoft for ipad so I am getting to grips with apple pages and numbers. So far so great. It takes a long time to charge the battery but then the battery life is fantastic. Apple TV came with the purchase and I loved Greyhound and The Morning Show.
IcelessInTheBay –
Poor design at an absurd price point I took it back and got a regular, nonkeyboard case. All this case does is turn your iPad into a MacBook but, with the case, it will no longer function as a tablet because you must remove the iPad from the case to make it lay flat, or if you want to hold it while doing a lecture or presentation. Doing so will give your iPad ZERO protection if you drop it, so why bother. If one is buying this for a college student in lieu of a MacBookPro, maybe it makes sense. However, if you already have a MacBook in your home, why bother buying this insanely expensive caseI swapped it out for a USG nonkeyboard case for a small fraction of the cost, so my iPad functions like a tablet and is protected. If I want to type a proposal I will grab my MacBookPro.
vwdiesel –
This keyboard changes the entire iPad experience My old MacBook Pro keyboard uses the same scissor switch keys and it is an absolute joy to type on. If youre a current or previous Mac user, most if not all of the trackpad shortcuts work exactly the same with the iPad Pro making it truly feel as if youre using a laptop. While it is a very expensive keyboard option, it is worth it I use a headphone adapter in my iPad Pros usbc port and the magic keyboards extra usbc charging port makes it a lifesaver if you need to charge your iPad and use adapters for other things at the same time. 1010 worth it for me.

The build quality is typical Apple good, the keyboard is excellent much has been written about it and the implementation in the new Macbook versions. It is very easy to detach the iPad from the keyboard and putting it back on. Always in place and I have never had issues that it would be too loose the magnets are strong. However, there are a several negatives. It starts with opening the iPad, there is nothing like the little opening under the trackpad of traditional MacBooks, so each time I am fiddling around to open it the magnets are really strong. Next, the adjustable angle is very limited, good enough for reading but as soon as working on the lap it is not far enough. The trackpad works but it feels like an old version of the very first laptops. It klicks loud and is far away from what one is used nowadays from MacBooks. The main limitation is weight, though. This is sooooo heavy, that I am considering buying a lightweight case without keyboard for traveling so I do not need to take the keyboard with me. But then, why did I buy it, in the end to leave my Macbook at home and have a lightweight device that could do most of the work for normal travel and for even most business trips. It is definitely not this. Taken together, there is nearly no advantage compared to my MacBook Pro 13, except having a touchscreen, however that comes along with all the limitations of the iPad vs a MacOS driven computer. I assume Apple fears following Microsoft with their Surface or all other PC manufacturers with their touchscreen laptops like the Carbon X1, however, a Macbook with a touchscreen is still what I want the most and would be the best solution for myself. For simple app use credit cards, airlines, email, weather, …, I do have my iPhone, for most of the work application, the Macbook is still in the lead by far compared to the iPad think about the file server limitations even on google drive, etc.. I dont miss the function keys row, as I programmed the escape key onto the command key and for changing volume and brightness I use the usual iPad options. Now as I have it, I will use it and the use will be fun the iPad Pro is still the best tablet out there in my view, however, the keyboard feels like an unsatisfying fix solution and it is more like a duplication of the Macbook with many caveats but an additional touchscreen.
Christine –
Pros Folds into a case. Instant connection with iPad snap on and lift off. No precharging required. Charging via socket on the keyboard as well as pad. Several keyboard options in Settings. Compact, edge to edge backlit keyboard fast, light responsive full size keys. Trackpad does same as MacBookiMac so no learning curve if you already have one of those. Cursor adapts from dot to straight line when in text. When the case is closed, theres room for Apple Pencil to stay in place. Easy wipe surface.Cons Very minor complaints No Cmd Q quit option upward finger swipe instead. Shift key sometimes does it own thing can be fixed by settings do not capitalise but hope therell be a firmware fix as Apple is aware of it. Doubles the weight of iPad. On balance with positive points, nothing you cant live with

Perfect for Gen 4 5 12.9. Well built this keyboard feels like a full size Mac. Backlit keys feel firm yet light to the touch. And trackpad is super accurate. Features a usbc backwards charge out for a mobile phone. I added a padded slip case from INCASE to carry everything in. Only drawback is the weight is on the heavy side. Plus was deal of the day price of 199.99 a steal

Bought this Apple Magic Keyboard Pro 12.9 after seeing many reviews so I decide to give it a try. Magic keyboard Pro 12.9 is very solid and feels very good quality. Keyboard is a good size and keys are very responsive,Touch pad very easy to use and the lighting is very nice.Magic Keyboard can serve as a protector for your IPad Pro 12.9 when carrying around and its sleek floating design makes it look very elegant. Magnets are very strong and will hold the Ipad very tight and it doesnt fall. The only reason I am giving this product a 2star is due to its prize and lack of enginuity. Magic keyboard is way too expensive just for it being a keyboard. IPad Pro can not be used in landscape mode when placed on keyboard. Its doesnt rotate in a 360degree mode so your stuck using the IPad Pro just in portrait mode When Ipad is placed on Magic keyboard it doesnt tilt back either but is limited and this can become annoying if your outside or somewhere where their is much light and you need to adjust. Keyboard lacks command keys and many things are done using motion They didnt include a Manuel for all these crazy commands Magickeyboard didnt come with an C cord. The back side of Magic Keyboard covers the Apple Icon in back of your Ipad,no opening to show apple Icon. Product is over valued and not worth paying well over 300 for it. Competitors have similar product at a much lesser prize. If you feel ok about paying well over 300 its a nice keyboard to have. If you already have an apple computer it would only be wiser to go with an Ipad 11in and a smaller keyboard due to size. You will eventually get tired of it if you carry it around

The magic keyboard seems to be lacking a lot of features to be so expensive. No function keys, no pen holder, and no way of using the iPad in a tablet mode without removal of the iPad. With the pen attached to the iPad itself, my iPad seems to lose a lot of its battery endurance, and the pen falls off way to easily. The lack of function keys is also a huge omission, as settings such as keyboard backlight take multiple steps to get to in the settings app. I just cant help but feel this is a product missing some key features. The problem is at the price they are asking there should be no feature omissions. When i think about the fact you can purchase a Chromebook, or iPad for the same price as just this keyboard it really bothers me. Especially in the current financial situation of the times. I have been using a zagg keyboard case with my iPad for the past year and am really missing the pen holder, the stand feature, and function buttons. Dont think for my use case giving those things up for a little smoother keyboard and a track pad is worth it.

If you want to work and be productive on iPad and use it as a primary machine, youve got to have this. Its outstanding Unless youre doing intense professional creative work you can largely replace a PC with iPad and this case. The backlit keys are a nice touch, the trackpad is fantastic, and the new cursor in iPad OS is great. The top row of keys are a bit close to the display. And you will find there are touchswipe gestures you get accustomed to that the trackpad doesnt quite support. But perhaps the biggest downside is that when you open this thing up, you cant fold it behind the display and continue using your iPad as a tablet. So its not quite a full convertible, but the magnetic attachment makes it really easy to pull off and use as a tablet. But then your iPad doesnt have a case. This is my reason for removing a star. But like I said, this takes productivity on iPad to a new level.I also have to say, whether it was purposeful or not, when youre docked in this case, you can charge your iPad through either side case port on the left, iPad port on the right and thats definitely an added convenience. And I love that I can use my MacBook Pro chargers to charge ittldr its worth the money, especially if youre trying to work on iPad.

Ive had my keyboard for 3 weeks, or so, and I am innnn LOVE I take my iPad everywhere now. Ive never used my iPad so much in my life until now I love how strong the magnet is, the thousands of positions the screen view offers, the weight of the case same as the iPad so some may find it too heavy, yet for me it just feels more durable., and the extra charging port it offers on the bottom left side, which I love. I say that because no matter where my iPad charger cord is coming from it always has a convienet port that it can reach, whether it be the left or right side of the device. As far as its functions Holding CMD will give you all of the shortcuts offered for whatever app youre currently in, the trackpad offers many of the same shortcuts the the MacBooks offer, the settings allow you to customize your keyboard to fit your exact needs, and the trackpad also has the tap feautrue, so you dont have to click down every single time you want to select something. Probably one of my favorite features. All in all, this is definitely a product I would not think twice about purchasing, or returning Itll add a strong new love for your iPad that you never thought was even possible BUY IT USE IT LOVE IT

Not even close to being worth 350. The only part that moves the screen is the top part. The round part to close the keyboard does only thatopen or close. This puts the screen at really odd positions. I could not get the iPad to stay in portrait mode except to rest it against the case. The keyboard and touchpad were very smooth and worked well. There is no protection for the iPad sidesThe pencil will charge but there is no place to keep it when storing or traveling with the keyboard.

While this Magic Keyboard is expensive it greatly enhances the iPad Pro, especially as the iOS software is built to make good use of it many of the usual MacOS shortcuts work. The typing feel of the keyboard is exactly that of a modern MacBook with good keytravel. The adjustable via Settings only at the moment key backlighting is really useful and looks consistent across the keyboard. The hinge on the keyboard is stiff but it really has to be to hold the iPad in place. Once you get used to this its easy to position the iPad screen at the right angle the combined devices are steady stable and wont topple over.Unlike another review I found the impact on battery life to be minimal and was getting a couple of days use between charges with continual keyboard use.Expensive but an invaluable purchase, turning the iPad Pro into a true creative tool, and very nearly a complete replacement for the daily work I carry out on my MacBook Pro.This is a really brilliant item.
Dave –
I was skeptical when about the keyboard at first considering how expensive it is.. The price of the iPad Pro and keyboard combined exceed the price of the newest MacBook Air alone also which is something that should be considered. Anyways after having the keyboard for a week Im pretty impressed with it and dont regret buying it. Its very sturdy and feels like high quality which should be expected for the price. One quality of the keyboard that I noticed many talked down about is the weight, which I actually find to be a pro. Its not heavy at all but heavy enough to feel solid and not easily breakable. I wouldnt want a lighter keyboard because it just wouldnt feel like a quality product. Attaching the iPad to it is very easy to learn and once it does attach it feels secure, I dont have any worries of it randomly falling off regardless of the viewing angle. If only the keyboard lights could be customized and if some Of regular keyboard buttons return, backspace were on it it would change my rating to 5 stars.
Ranchonodinero –
If you have used a surface for any length of time and made the switch to the iPad Pro, you really need this keyboard. It offers the thing that was missing with the traditional keyboard and that is the trackpad. I thought, at first, that the viewing angle was a kinda gizmoish type of feature, but now I like it. True, with this keyboard, you do need a somewhat flat surface, but it still works well in your lap. Easy to remove if you want to use as an iPad again. But with it on your iPad, it is now much more user friendly.
MomOfBoys –
Its so neat There is nothing that there laptops can do that the IPad Pro and Magic keyboard attached cannot. I actually believe the combo is better than the MacBook 13 inch. Its light, and the fact it has a touchscreen which hasnt oddly been modified on there laptops yet is great The touch bar is eh, maybe a great look for music editing, however if your using the device in any other manner Id suggest the pair. The camera resolution is always, always number one I draw more that I blog but the keyboard is absolutely brilliant Fastest delivery by Best Buy Ever Thanks a mill
User23 –
Easy to attach and automatically sets up, fun to use It simply uses the Smart Connector standard for power and connection, which fixes any latency or connection issues that might arise from a Bluetooth accessory winningOnce you open up the Magic Keyboard it looks as though your iPad is floating, thanks to the magnets built into the case. You can start typing and using the trackpad right away. I love itTheres no battery, it gets power from my iPad Pro, so simple to use and it gives me the feeling that Im using a regular smaller laptop

Ive been waiting and researching for the best iPad Pro keyboard that I can use for work and this was the answerHere were my requirements Seamless integration with the iPad Pro and no connectivity issues. Great typing experience. The original iPad Pro keyboard made by Apple had one of the worst typing experiences. Well built and looks good with the iPad Pro.The only negative probably for most iPad Pro owners is the price. I was looking forward to using it and making it part of my workflow, but unfortunately, I had to return the product because I found out I had no more work to return to because of this Pandemic. If you still have work and you plan to use this as a keyboard, you will definitely love it and will make up for the cost of it through an improvement in your productivity.
Shusu –
The keyboard has an excellent touch, much better even than my iMac magic keyboard and it seems quite solid. I was expecting it to be heavier than I actually found it from many of the reviews and it is quite thin. I plan to use it at home ao I wont be carrying it. unless I plan to do a lot of writing.I have another cover without a keyboard when I want to carry it. I havent had it that long so these remarks would be to this date, but I dont anticipate any problems at all. It is quite expensive, but the quality is worth it.

I had been using the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio for my iPad Pro 3rd gen and it was a good keyboard I suppose. I dont do too much typing, but the Magic Keyboard makes me want to type. The keys feel very nice, I still cant believe that this is a keyboard case. My favorite feature by far is the track pad. The old Folio felt very much like a case with a keyboard slapped on it and didnt make me feel like I was using a laptop. The Smart Keyboard legitimately makes my iPad feel like a laptop running iOS.I dont have enough words to say how much I love this keyboard, there isnt a single con that I can think of, even the price feels 100 justifiable and Ive been pretty cheap lately so pressing the button to buy this hurt a little. One thing, make sure you iPad is running the latest version of iPadOS or the keyboard will be very limited in what it can do. I think I was on an earlier version of iPadOS 13 and nothing on the Smart Keyboard worked except for the pass through charging port that was also an excellent idea.Im excited to see how this holds up over time.
Matt –
Absolutely beautiful and elegant the magic keyboard makes this a bonafide laptop. Pop it off the keyboard and back to iPad. 12.9 is huge and with todays device resolutions, it is plenty of space for multiapp screen use. Its Apple…need I say more about quality, reliability, durability, easeofuse, etc. Yep, the price is up there but you know the saying, you get what you pay forNot my first iPad, but with the innovative magic keyboard, its like a whole new experience. Extremely happy.
EvieColors –
I was skeptical buying a keyboard that is the same price as a car payment, but found it was beneficial in my work and school. It has a great feel typing the keys. I have noticed that I type faster and more effective. It doesnt have function keys or backspace, the delete is used as a backspace, but found its cool. This is something I used to create content for my blog and podcast, which makes me more productive. Even my 3 year old granddaughter loves the keyboard and I have to have her do typing duty for me. LOL It weight is a little heavier than most keyboards, but I can dig it Overall, if price and the weight is no issue, I would highly recommend it.
RobB –
I would give it five stars, but pretty pricey since it is an apple product. It is also almost a way to make your tablet into a MacBook so there is an added expense for that benefit.Works great. Have a keyboard and trackpad that work well. I can also add a wired or Bluetooth keyboard to it as well as mouse. I use an adapter and plug into a large HDMI monitor. Since it is a tablet it does not fill the entire space, but makes it almost a Mac desktop as well. Not all functions work with an added mouse though. Sometimes I have to revert back to the trackpad to bring up apps that are open. I would definitely recommend for those looking to make their tablet more like a MacBook. Unfortunately does not fully replace a MacBook and since this is the only computer I have now I am limited on certain things. I will most likely buy a laptop at some point to have all of the functions of a regular computer.

Ill admit, I was hesitant to purchase the Apple Magic Keyboard at first when I saw its list price. I thought that it would end up being an overengineered, overpriced Apple product that looked cool but did much of the same things as a lower priced alternative. That was my mindset when I started to look for a new keyboard for my iPad Pro 12.9 since my old Logitech keyboard that worked with my 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9 was not compatible with the 4th gen version I upgraded to recently. However, after finding the Magic Keyboard on sale at Best Buy for 40 off the original list price and comparing it to some other options, I decided to bite the bullet and buy one.Looking back on my decision, Im glad I did but, honestly, Im also equally glad I waited until I could purchase it at what I viewed as a much more reasonable price. As much as I like the Magic Keyboard, I still wouldnt pay the list price since its possible to buy a brand new, entry level iPad for a lower price than the list price for the Magic Keyboard.Ive found the Magic Keyboard to be a solid, wellengineered product. While its not the lightest keyboard option available, it definitely has a solid feel and weight to it that makes me think Ill be able to use it for years like I did with my original Logitech keyboard for my 1st gen iPad Pro but, this time, without small pieces falling off of it as it aged as was the unfortunate case with my old Logitech keyboard in the last two years I owned it.In my view, the Magic Keyboard would be perfect if there was a way for the user to rotate the iPad back and forth between a horizontal and portrait orientation. Although when the day does come when Apples engineers design a keyboard with that capability, I imagine it will likely come with a 600 list price.
JimmyNeutron92 –
This keyboard is very convenient however, its not quite worth the money unless you know you are gonna use this all the time. I purchased this thinking I was gonna use it constantly and Ive used it once since Ive had it. The keyboard folds over the iPad so you can take it on the go which is convenient. Since I heavily rely on my laptop for school, I still held onto the keyboard to use as a backup in case my laptop crashes on me, I can attach this to my iPad to use in the meantime. With this keyboard and iPad, its pretty much like having a MacBook.

I bought a 3rd Generation 12.9 inch iPad Pro in 2018 to replace my aging 2012. MacBook Pro. I initially purchased the original Apple Smart Keyboard for the iPad but returned it within days because of the low quality. Then I purchased a Bluetooth Logitech Keyboard. My 2012 MacBook Pro finally died a few weeks ago, After a few days of using the iPad Pro as my primary computer, I realized I needed a keyboard with a track pad. I debated between buying the Apple Magic Keyboard for the iPad or buying a new MacBook Air. I decided to try the Magic Keyboard. Wow, this is the keyboard Apple should have released with the iPad Pro. Im now retired, but I made my living for thirty years as a software developer. I have spent thousands of hours typing on computer keyboards. This keyboard really is Magic. I love the feel of the keys and the track pad makes me forget that Im using an iPad and not my MacBook Pro. I rarely write product reviews but this is the best iPad accessory Ive ever seen. The price is steep but you get what you pay for and this keyboard is a high quality product.
DPug –
This is by far one of the best Apple keyboards for iPads that they have ever made. Once you get used to the track pad and the finger gestures to scroll, switch apps, and to do tasks its great. The keyboard is light weight and compact but still provides great protection for the iPad. I love that there is no extra charging or Bluetooth connects, just straight forward attach iPad to keyboard and go. I would definitely recommend this keyboard for anyone with the new iPad Pro.

Apple products will always receive a good rating from me, if anything just for the sheer quality. However, after deliberating over this item for a month or so, I finally decided to splash out on it.My immediate response was a bit underwhelming though useful for typing and other general activities, I found it to be a bit of a nuisance for when Iuse the iPad for leisure, i.e surfing the web, social media, app usage, etc. I quickly converted back to my original casing and put the keyboard aside. I have no intention of returning it and will surely find usage for it along the line. But its a bit expensive for something that will not provide me with daily praticality
Idontbuyjunkonline –
Although together with iPad more expensive than Mac book. Many commands are do not register Register on device. Most apps do not allow rotation making this useless in many cases. In many cases to get full use of app you must undock. Case provides minimal protection and lower piece seems flimsydelicate. The adjustability is very poor with one setting that is decent angle of view. Save your money and seek alternatives. External surface not very durable. If I pay a lot of money for space gray apple should step up its design game and carry through to this very very expensive keyboard.
OneAnnoyedWorker –
Its absolutely premium quality. I love it. It doesnt protect the iPad or have a proper pencil holdercover but then again i can overlook it because its made to be sleek and comfortable. However it does not justify its price of 350.. 20 more then a standard ipad.. 20 the price of the Ipad pro If you can afford it id say go for it.its not one of those if i had the money then sure Its if you have the money you must

I got this as a best by deal of the day and so i got a really great Apple product for a really great price. Took my IPad Pro and attached it magnetically to this keyboard case and not I have a mini IMac. This keyboard works and fells great and I like the way it automatically uses backlight feature when the room becomes dark. Still learning a lot of different tips and tricks that make this so much fun and exciting to use.
Evan –
Its a nice solid keyboard. Very rigid and feels stiff in a good way. It does give your iPad more of a laptop vibe instead of a tablet feel. But thats the reason I had to return it. I already owned a laptop and didnt want to fully replace it with this iPad Promagic keyboard combo. I heavily use the Apple Pencil to take digital notes, but since this magic keyboard doesnt flip all the way around to be used flat I cant really do that. I find it awkward trying to lay the weight of my hand on the iPad in the positions the keyboard offers when trying to jot down notes. I ended up returning the magic keyboard and opted for the folio keyboard because it can flip all the way around. All in all, the magic keyboard is a great product. If youre someone that doesnt have a laptop or are interested in replacing your laptop this could be for you. Just keep in mind that it may be awkward to use the Apple Pencil with it.

Cool little keyboard for the iPad Pro. Like that you can plug in the keyboard to power to charge everything and still have your usbc port on the iPad available. The only quirky issue is that if you want to put the keyboard on your lap while lounging on the couch or whatever, the iPad makes it really top heave and it wants to just fall backwards. I guess you can just take the iPad out and use like normal iPad in those situations. Not sure its worth the 349 they charge, but its Apple. And it works.

I love the design and ease of use, however this product loses connection often and doesnt want to charge my iPadAt times, my keyboard was unresponsive, as well as the trackpad.I returned this product and purchased a Trackpad Keyboard separately. For the price paid, this product does not deliver.I would suggest purchasing the Keyboard and Trackpad separately. I havent encountered any issues thus far.

For starters this product should not cost 400 for the 12.9 iPad Pro, or 350 for the 11 Also since the iPad itself powers the magic keyboard case, it drain the battery faster. Aside from that, I love this product. I use my iPad Pro daily for work. Before, I was carrying around a BT mouse, mouse pad and keyboard. Or I would use myLogitech Slim Folio case but I still needed the mouse. The magic keyboard case eliminates all of that I also like the fact that the iPads charging port is fully accessible if a dongle is needed, while charging is done through the magic keyboards usbc port. So far this case is holding up well. It is built better than I expected. It really is a good product, but I would try to catch it on sale.

Who knew you really needed a keyboard for you iPad It makes things so much easier. The typing is great and so is the trackpad. The trackpad is one large button so you can click anywhere. The pass through charging port is SO useful, especially if your charger is on the left and the cord isnt long enough to reach the right side of the iPad. Backlit keys are very even and bright enough. I am not experiencing huge battery drain like others. The viewing angles are just right if you are sitting down. It is a must buy in my opinion.

This keyboard has a beautiful floating design, but unless you plan to use your iPad in landscape orientation only Which a shocking number of apps still dont support, this product lacks versatility as it does not fully open or fold meaning that if you want to use it in portrait mode, you have to either hold it awkwardly or take it off completely leaving it exposed to damage. It does type beautifully and the track pad feature is fantastic, but not fantastic enough to justify the price point. Particularly when you can buy a magic track pad for half the cost and use your existing magic keyboard folio I recommend the Logitech one. This is one of the first Apple Products to really disappoint me.
Gadgetgeek –
Bought it as a replacement for the base cover and because I was back in school and thought this could be my primary computer for work. Since In have started to use it, I have almost no complaints. It does everything well, but the keyboard functions could be better as I have found its difficult figuring out shortcuts, which it doesnt have many so you still have to work with the touch screen. The experience of using both during Microsoft 365 at times works great and other times can be a pain in the butt when editing a paper.

I like almost everything about the magic keyboard. The only two negatives i can say is that you cant flip the keyboard over like the Smart Keyboard. You have to remove the iPad from the Smart Keyboard for that. The second is the delete key minor minor minor issue, on the smart the delete key will delete emails and Im going through my inbox. On the magic keyboard the delete key is completely inactive.

The iPad Pro on its own is a great tablet. However, when paired with the Magic Keyboard, it becomes a fullfledged laptop. I bought the Magic Keyboard to pair with my iPad Pro to see if I could replace my MacBook Pro with it as my daytoday computer, and I absolutely could The iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard makes for a great computer one that can accomplish almost any task you could ask of it. And, of course, you can keep your desktop or laptop computer around for the odd job that you cant easily get done on the iPad Pro, but I havent run into this problem. The fact that the iPad Pro is lighter, smaller, and more portable than my MacBook Pro makes using it on a daily basis so much easier, and the fact that it works just as well as a laptop makes buying the Magic Keyboard a no brainer Would definitely recommend The only downside is that its a bit on the expensive side, but it really is worth it.

I held off purchasing this for so long I wanted it but it was so expensive and justifying that for a keyboard was so hard. Now that I have it, I hate that I waited. The keyboard typing experience is fantastic. I really like the varied viewing angles for your iPad. My only gripe is I really, really wish it had a row of function keys for volume, screen brightness, etc. That would have made this PERFECT

Lets start with the good parts. This is a great addition to the ipad line. It is easy to setup it offers a useful and stable typing surface and, most importantly, it has a track pad that is highly usable. It is Apple design at its best. Now, for the bad. There are three issues. The first is the weight it is heavy. It offers only a limited amount of angle change for the screen trying to push beyond its limits will harm the system. Finally, it is expensive at 349 for a 12.9 inch Ipad. But, it works beautifully one of the best solutions for Ipads that I have ever seen.In the end, it is worth it just

A really good keyboard in my opinion. The trackpad may need some getting used to I currently use an apple mouse now, but the keyboard itself feels amazing to type on. The build quality could be a bit better for the overall keyboard though, as I did pay almost 400 dollars for it. It isnt necessary to prompt the keyboard on a flat surface in my opinion, I think that its just advised because the weight distribution is bad, considering how heavy the 3rd or 4th gen Ipads are, while almost no weight is on the other side to counteract the heaviness. If you have trouble connected the keyboard to the Ipad, make sure your Ipad is updated to the latest version to ensure that mouse capabilities are allowed, as the keyboard requires both mouse and keyboard capabilities available for it to work. If your Ipad keyboard still isnt working, Id recommend asking for a refund and reordering another magic keyboard.
NoviceGadgetGeek –
I really dont have any complaints about the keyboard. Its sturdy, responsive, feels great to type on. I never considered having a touchpad for an iPad but now I wonder why this hasnt been done sooner. The one critique I can offer is there arent many options for iPad positioning. I thought it had a free floating hinge to allow you to place the iPad in any position youd like, but the reality is what you see in the photos is the extent of its motion. That said, the positioning is perfect for setting your iPad on a table or your lap, so not really a bad thing.I also appreciate the magnetic connection. Its strong enough to hold your iPad with no wobble at all, but not so strong where you struggle to remove it when you want to use it as a traditional tablet.Allinall, if you dont mind the price tag, this is a great addition for your iPad pro. Throw in an O365 subscription and you may be able to replace your laptop completely.

As i shopped for the perfect case and between the time Apple announced this keyboard, the release for this accessory couldnt have come sooner. Granted this keyboard is overpriced but at the end of the day you get what you pay for, trackpad functions with the famous macbook keyboards, you could type on this all day without your fingers getting tired because the kickback is not as strong as a Full sized keyboard. The packaging and the user guides are bare, but this case and keyboard is packed with hidden content that will require you to dig deep and learn what this can do, iOs 13 has a ton of hidden features such as the ability to change keyboard shortcuts and the ability to change trackpad color, speed, animation and settings. Learning the trackpad gestures takes some getting used but you learn at the end of the day WHY they took out the ESC key, you dont really need it. The biggest thing for me was learning the exclusive iOS Ipad keyboard shortcuts and for all heres a guide that should helphttpssupport.apple.comenusHT211096The keyboard feedback is trademark apple macbook, you can control the brightness via the settings or let it do its natural work, by default the backlight will turn off if left unused for a couple of minutes and will turn back on once you star using it, the trackpad can be used just as a macbook but with the iPad gestures. Honestly it should come natural if you know how to use the iPad swipe features. The case is heavy for all the right reasons, ive gotten used to it already, the iPad wont fall off its magnet unless its done purposely, ive grown fond of the materialrubberized plastic that covers the outside i.e the material that scratches easy, gets smeared or dirty easily, this is the kind of material that doesnt damage the screen when closed up and im all up for it since it was my biggest worry.Another caveat a lot of people might not know, if you have Applecare , this device is covered under it since its an official Apple product, should any problems arise just start a claim under your ipad and Apple will take care of it.My biggest fear is that Apple will keep churning out more magic keyboard with trackpad variants sooner, maybe even with touch id, heck i like this one, but for whats it worth, this is sexier than any macbook since i use my ipads as entertainment hubs more than anything anyways plus once you add up the price of an ipad and this keyboard you already went over the price of an entry level macbook air so you got choices The biggest advantage is the celular model of course and wifi6 on the new ipad pro 2020PS After weeks of shopping around props to best buy, I was ready to buy this through Apple but they have a 34 week delay, Target doesnt even have them in stock, Amazon hasnt even released them, Best Buy is the only one that has them ready to ship, in this crazy hard times major props for delivering and over exceeding all expectations

I had the iPad for almost a year before I got this. I needed the iPad for a work presentation but wasnt using it much. My laptop was kinda sucking wind so I thought Id try replacing it with the iPadkeyboard combo since itd be cheaper and honestly its pretty close. If youre an emailword processor person and not doing a lot of media manipulation, an iPad Pro and this keyboard will do it. The batter life is pretty good even with the keyboard and it really worksfeels like a laptop. I probably wouldnt have set out to buy an iPad and this keyboard a new Macbook M1 would literally cost you one cent more but if you have an iPad, it will extend the functionality considerably.
JasonTechGeeek –
This takes the iPad Pro to another level. The keyboard on this folio is truly great … typing is a pleasure, the depth, travel and cushion are perfect. It turned my iPad Pro into something useful. Previously I had the original folio keyboard, and it was pretty lame, it never felt like I could type a long document. This Magic Keyboard I can write long documents and it feels great. I rarely use the mouse pad, I guess I havent found a need for it with the touch screen on the iPad being the goto. The only con, which I am not sure how theyd get around, is this more or less triples the thickness of the iPad.
Bridget –
The keyboard is amazing, it gives you the ability to type fast, keys are loud though. I took this back because I felt I need to be very mobile with this and I often knocked the IPad off the magnetic back. I didnt like that it wouldnt fold back and allow me to just use the iPad without removing it from the keyboard. My boyfriend loves his though but it stays mostly on his desk. If youre not going to be putting it to a lot of mobile uses, its a great buy. I needed something to put on my exercise equipment while I studied that would still offer protection for my IPad Incase it fell. If you happen to drop the device, your IPad will fall off.

The only thing I would like to see is a function key row on the top of the key board.Because of our new environment it has been getting a lot of use and it is really nice to use.One odd thing happened the other day, the backlit keyboard light wouldnt come on, then suddenly it was working again. It has been working since. As you may have guessed Im not a very good typist,I am a photographer and use the new iPad Pro for a lot of my work now, in place of the iMac and MacBookPro, what a difference.I can attach Ext. HDs and use the iPad as a Live Monitor while shooting in the studio or out on location and save files for reviewing later on the iPad for editing later in Photoshop etc.The Magic Keyboard makes all possible for many reasons not least being the floating screen, keyboard with touch pad, iPen, and iMouse 2, all in one neat unit.Wait. . . there is more The iPad syncs with the iPhone for use as a remote and also you can down load the photos to send to the clients or any one while photographing in the field or back in the studio. The Magic Keyboard works great in so many ways besides typingas mentioned above. It may be expensive but for my work its a life saver. Ive had to down size the last year as Im not quite as strong as in years past as I will be 82 this month and lugging a lot of equipment…well you get it. With all in a smaller package and having the capabilities that the new tech. gives I could only dream of a few years ago.In closing I would like to say thank you Apple for a dream come true and Best BuyGeek Squad thank you for being here

Pleasantly surprised. I have 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 and have been using it with the keyboard folio for year. Ive wanted to try this but it was a little pricey so I was able snag this on saw for 150 off and its well worth the price. The only gripe I have is not being able to use the iPad as a tablet without removing the iPad completely from the keyboard with the folio keyboard you can flip the keyboard to the back of the iPad for tablet mode. But I really like the trackpad and stability with this one. I have a MacBook so it just flows effortlessly for me. I also do a lot of typing in my lap so the added sturdiness is nice. I also dont feel like my iPad is going to fall off the magnets. I did opt into buying a bumper case on Amazon so that I can detach my iPad anytime I want to use it in tablet mode without having a naked iPad. But so far so good I havent noticed any difference in the battery life and I love not having to charge the keyboard just attach and go. The backlit keys are a plus as well. Ill be keeping this keyboard for sure especially now that Im transitioning back to in office work and will be carrying my iPad around instead of my MacBook.

Excellent accessory for the 12.9 iPad Pro. Strong magnetic connection for firm for. Automatic pairing. Keyboard is nice. Touchpad is adequate for the iPad. Additional USBc port. Sturdy with decent protection for an iPad. Does not interfere with the pencil

For starters, I am typing this review on my Magic Keyboard.1st It is a great typing experience. The keys have a nice travel and tactile feel, and is certainly main laptop worthy.2nd With the touchpad, it really makes my iPad work and function like my main laptop. I have been using this as my primary mobile workstation over my laptop, as iOS apps are just so much easier to use.The cons I have with this device It is a stain magnet, and hard to keep clean, but it is fairly easy to cleanup when it does get inevitably dirty. It also offers no protection to your device, but I purchased a Spoley SwitchEasy CoverBuddy case, which works with the Magic Keyboard, so it offers some protection I dropped the tablet bag my iPad was in from my shoulder about 4.5Ft and landed on asphalt and survived. Small crack to case but device survived without a scratch. All in all, this device is expensive, but worth it for my use.

I cant remember the last time an accessory caused me to buy a new product. When the new iPad Pro 2020 came out I was like…meh. I dont need a 3D scanning camera. My 2018 11 iPad Pro was doing just fine. Then the Magic Keyboard was ready for launch and I knew I had to get one. 299 seemed like a lot for an 11 keyboard, but 349 for a 13 Now youre talking. So I ordered a new iPad Pro 12.9 and away we go.Take this with a grain of salt from an admitted Apple fanboy…..this thing is AWESOME Having a trackpad is nice, but I love how iPadOS hides the curser automatically when Im not using it. The keyboard is buttery smooth, and the finish is growing on me. The side charger is nice, but I find that it doesnt charge as fast as the iPad USBC port. The combo iPadSmart Keyboard is quite heavy but I type this as Im sitting on my couch and it feels every bit as sturdy as typing on any laptop Ive used on the couch before. Its crazy how expensive these are, but I dont regret the purchase one bit.

As someone who uses the iPad on a daily basis I knew that the new Magic Keyboard would be a key to maximizing my productivity and enabling me to rely less on being tied down to my desk computer. It wins on that account. With the addition of the trackpad I can breeze through tasks like never before on my iPad. It took a little time to figure out the dance of what I do with the touch screen vs. the keyboard and trackpad but I adjusted very quickly. The charging port on the keyboard doesnt charge my iPad as fast as when I plug the USBC cable directly into the iPad itself while docked. Not sure why but not a huge deal except for some who might not like the look of the charging cable coming off the side of the iPad as opposed to the bottom rear pivot joint of the keyboard. The trackpad itself is considerably smaller than most on MacBooks and the standalone version. It took a few uses for my fingers to adjust and do all the different swipes that are available. But I did adjust and it is not an issue any more. The feel of the keyboard is so much nicer than the previous generation. Its a little loud but it feels amazing. The weight of the Magic Keyboard is substantial so when you combine both devices it isnt light. I was prepared for this through early YouTube reviews and I am putting up with it.The biggest negative is that the Keyboard doesnt fold backwards like the last generation and other iPad cases. I am a musician and I use my 2018 iPad Pro multiple times during the day necessitating my undocking and switching cases so that it can sit up flush on a piano desk or music stand. This is a huge fail for me and the biggest reason for my giving this otherwise great device three stars. For the pricepoint it should fold my laundry too I hope that Apple reconfigures this in future iterations. It is absolutely crazy that the new Magic Keyboard is more expensive than the base model iPad. They need to figure out a way to lessen the cost without reducing the quality.Dont get me wrong. The new generation of Magic Keyboard has a lot going for it. If you want to get away from your home computer with very little loss in productivity I highly recommend it. My issue is very specific to my profession.Congrats to Apple for finally making pointing devices compatible with iPad. Its a huge leap forward in making the iPad almost as productive as the Mac.

If Jobs was here to see this Magic Keyboard, he would be giving praises to the ATeam that developed it. Jobs direction had been toward dependence on our digits for navigation and pointing tools. That tactile perspective is still important, but a product like this and the Apple pencil wouldve eventually have to come to see the light of day. That said, I was completely wrong about the product. It enhances the iPad the way a fine suit enhances a gentleman, a gown a woman. It fits and it is balanced. Nothing about it feels wrong or awkward to me. It is an extension to the iPad without taking away from it. I wish this had been the product available when I purchased my 3rd generation iPad Pro. Dont let the price tag scare you. The value is reinforced by every penny you put into it. It is an investment and is worthwhile. Lastly, my iPad now feels like a new purchase since adding the Magic Keyboard. I thought initially, when I bought the iPad Pro, I made a mistake not spending a little more for a powerful MacBook Pro. Since the Magic Keyboard, regrets have all but dissipated. Highly recommended.

This keyboard is great The magic keyboard snaps onto the iPad magnetically which holds the iPad in place at an adjustable angle. It is sturdy with full size keys that make is easy to use. It also has a track pad along with an easy to use USBC port in the hinge. This allows you to charge your iPad while using the C port on your iPad for headphones, etc. The keyboard covers the iPad like a case, which provides a bit of protection. However, I dont see it protecting your iPad if it is dropped. It is well built, but a little pricey as are most Apple products new to the market.
Jomster56 –
The absolute best keyboard Ive ever used. PERIOD. Ive been using multiple keyboards Apple has came out with since the original iPad Air. I used the one from 2019 with the iPad Pro 11 inch and now 2021 decided to get this one for the 12.9. The responsiveness of the mouse and keys are AMAZING. You would literally think youre using a regular MacBook when typing. Ive fallen in love, yes the price is high but it is ABSOLUTELY worth every penny and I do not say that often on Apple products.
Phrehdd –
This products best features are its sturdiness and the usb charge port on the side of the primary hinge. As expected, the keyboard has a nice feel to it and touch works well on the pad. Both of the latter is slightly different in feel than a Macs keyboard and trackpad. The iPad itself easily attaches to the back and is done so magnetically. For some this may be problematic if they put any casing to help protect the back. I do understand there is one that works with this item but is a bit expensive. There are short comings to this item for many namely that the degree of tilt is very limited, the charge port on the side is only good for power charging the iPad and not for data use, and the iPad does not rotate into vertical position with use of the actual keyboard. Last the sides of the iPad are not well protected against bumps as the keyboard case is flush with the edges of this item when closed. If your goal is to do lots of typing and want similar functionality to a laptop, this is a decent candidate.

This is a great case and a easy to mount and unmount. Its a little tough to open one handed sometimes, but i can get over that. The only thing for me with big hands is that when the case is fully open and im typing, i constantly hit the ipad when typing quickly. So that kind of is a downer for me.. The only ways i found to fix that is to type slower or to angle it a down a bit more so the bottom doesnt come out so far..Other than that, I LOVE typing on the keyboard.. great keyboard to type on.. Also the trackpad on this device allows me to not have to carry a mouse in my pouch i have for my ipad. The trackpad is very smooth and is very responsive when im using it.Charging my ipad through the case is definitely a slower charge than doing it directly through the ipad.. So sometimes I charge it still on the ipad itself rather than through the case. I have also found that sometimes i have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to charge through the case.. Even if i take the ipad off and put it back on.. I just unplug the charger from the case and plug it right back in and magically everything starts charging again..This case definitely adds some weight to the unit as a whole. I wish they had a place where i can keep my apple pencil other than trying to keep it on the charging magnet on the ipad itself.. Ive found the pencil falling off sometimes based on how i carry my ipad in this case.Overall, im very happy with this case and keyboardtrackpad. It definitely makes my ipad experience just that much better. If youre looking at some of the others out there, i doubt that the experience is going to be as smooth and simple as the one Apple came up with on this case. Even though its a bit on the pricey side, i believe this is a good purchase for an ipad pro user.

Sometimes I can be a little impulsive when left unattended in Best Buy. I saw this when I picked up my iPad Pro 4th gen and instead of purchasing this right then, for some reason I didnt. I chewed on the 350 price tag but after a few days, I did the inevitable and went back into the store for the Magic Keyboard. While it wont make a rabbit appear in my pocket, it was worth the . I use it for hours every single day in my mobile business and so far, its like a tank. No issues at all. Love it

The Smart Keyboard is appropriate for lighter uses, but the Magic Keyboard is the one you want for heavy lifting and professional use. It adds a bit of weight, but it makes a huge difference in productivity. The track pad works better than most laptops. There arent many apps that use it yet, but for work its great. Its pricey, but one of my favorite purchases. Nothing else compares.
Marco331 –
OK, so Ive had the Magic Keyboard for just over a month. Wasnt sure I was going to keep it but decided I would. I like the ability to position the iPad for viewing, keyboard, and most importantly the track pad. Being able to charge it through the keyboard is a minor plus since the charging port is right there on the iPad. One issue that I have found is that the back light to the keys do not always go out when you close it up. I found this to be a known issue with some exchanging the keyboard to remedy. Its been hit and miss for me so I havent done that. Yes, a little pricey, but so is the iPad and Apple overall not a Best Buy issue. The iPad is held on magnetically havent had any issues with it coming off when in use. Limited protection, but thin and easy to fit in backpack. All in all, happy with purchase.
Greyfox63 –
The magic keyboard is a great typing experience and doubles nicely as a protective cover for travel. Its not cheap, but it is a quality product in my opinion. Love the way it keeps the pad off the desk and is actually a dream to use the touchpad once you get the hang of it. Light weight overall and looks professional as I use it for work. I was planning on getting a mouse at first but found that the touchpad was so quick and efficient I didnt see the need. Also, no set up. It just works as soon as you put the IPad on and the only thing you may want to do is open the settings and see if there is anything you want to tweak. If you a guy that likes to fidget and do a lot of customization then this may not be for you, but if you are like me and appreciate something that just flat out works great without a lot of hassle, then this is for you.

The magic keyboard is really nice in terms design and feeling of touches. The keys are even better than my old 2015 MBP which is also scissors keyboard. The travel is just right and the feedback is good.Pros1. Fit iPad Pro very well.2. No Bluetooth required and thus you dont need to switch whether you want to use keyboard. If you dont need the keyboard, just grab iPad from it. Unlike the Bluetooth keyboard, you have to disconnect it otherwise, the on screen keyboard wont show.3. You can have a port for charge only and dont take up the usbc port.4. Protective. This keyboard seems very strong.5. Software integration is really good. Track pad works well. And it just feels like using a MacBook.Cons1. Very heavy. It is really heavy. I feel it is heavier than my iPad Pro.2. When touch the number keys, there are chance that you will hit the edge of the iPad. The space between iPad and the keyboard is a bit tight. So you might hit iPads edge.3. Some app and website might have issue with two fingers scroll on the track pad.4. A bit noisier than my old MBP.
TrainerB –
Solid build quality. Feels sturdy when using it on a bed, my lap, legs stretched out. It is heavier than expected but makes sense trying to counterweight the iPad itself. Trackpad, although smaller than what youd typically find on a MacBook, is still very smooth and has a nice solid click when pressed. Backlit keyboard is nice addition. The typing is like if you were using a standard laptop. Great to type on. USBC charging port cannot be used for data. All in all a great accessory to an already great product.
Pizzacrust –
The only thing I would change is to have magnetic charging for the keyboard like MacBooks. It would make the charger different, but if there were some in between that would be the best. Definitely accidentally yank the USB C port a little very once in a while. Wish it would just pop out like my old MacBook Pro. Has held up well so far with no issues though No major scratches or scuffs, although I dont take it anywhere. Its enough like a laptop that you would want some sort of case aside from the keyboard to take it with you.
Rhovanion –
Ill admit, i was really skeptical about the price. It was… a lot. But i was already spending 999 on the iPad, and Ive had the previous smart folio keyboard case for my 1st generation 12.9 ipad Pro and this is a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR upgrade yes, i was yelling. The trackpad works great, the keyboard… oh yeah.. its the wonderful scissorstyle keys that I loved on my older MacBook Pro not the infuriating flat butterflystyle keys. The magnet that holds the ipad on is very strong and I love how much protection the whole case provides. Cons to draw on the iPad comfortably I have to take it outside of the protective case held on with magnets and the case is a lot of weight, but it more than makes up for it in how wonderful the buildquality was.
Jrbowser –
Its expensive but the Magic Keyboard is my favorite accessory for the iPad Pro. The keys are comfortable and travel like MacBook keys. The trackpad is smaller than a MacBook trackpad but I havent felt constrained by it at all. I have tried a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse with my iPad Pro but much prefer using the Magic Keyboard. Theres no lag that you might have with Bluetooth peripherals. My only nitpick about the Magic Keyboard is that the viewing angles are not comfortable for writing with an Apple Pencil. I used to have the Apple Smart Folio and liked how you could fold the keyboard under the iPad when writing with the Apple Pencil. I suppose that was a design choice so that the iPad can float on the back panel. I have just adjusted to taking the iPad out of the Magic Keyboard when I want to sign something or write notes with the Apple Pencil. The iPad attaches magnetically to the Magic Keyboard in easy fashion so its only a minor issue.
beachy –
Oh my gosh…If you have an iPad Pro 12.9 or 11, you must splurge get one of these Ive had many different keyboards with my prior iPads this one is the best one yet The only thing is that I do not feel the magnet to hold the Apple Pencil is strong enough. I was so worried Id lose the 129 Apple Pencil, I bought a zipper strap for it. This needs an Apple Pencil compartment. When considering the cost, I am surprised a pencil holder isnt builtin. Also, the unit doesnt allow enough space for a screen protector. It doesnt close all of the way so I guess Ill do away with the screen protector. Its a high priced unit. I bought it before the new iPad Pro launch saved 100.

This keyboardtrackpad combo is awesome. They keyboard is high quality scissor switches. The trackpad is what youd expect of an Apple track pad. The trackpad experience in iOS is way more comfortable and natural than youd expect. I found myself loving the trackpad for comfortable navigation, especially when mixing it with typing. The folio also balances in your lap making lap use work much better than some other keyboard folio options. Its also trivial to remove and replace the iPad from the magnets when needed. The pass through power port lets you chargepower the iPad while also using an USB accessory. In short… you do want this…….but, the 349 MSRP is, shall we say, enough to make you consider how much you really want it. I find that it is transformative enough to justify cringing and buying this despite the price, but the price is truly cringe inducing. One other minor quibble an improved way for securing an Apple Pencil would have been a nice addition.

I like this keyboard. I am using it to write this review. I have had this for just under a month and it has lived up to my expectations. It doesnt take up space and it is easy to use. Just attach the iPad and enable Bluetooth connection and you are all set. I would recommend this for anyone. I have a MacBook Air and the iPad Pro. I used to do the majority of my work on the MacBook but now it is fairly equal with this keyboard. I recommend this for anyone.

I have been using this keyboard for several months now. It has worked well and Ive had no issues with it. This is an apple keyboard and it was not cheap so I dont expect any less. I was using magic keyboard and magic trackpad 2 with my ipad before this purchase and Ive not needed to use them since. I actually prefer this trackpad with the ipad because your fingers dont need to travel as far. With the trackpad 2, even after adjustments in settings, my fingers still had to travel further. I find myself using my ipad more often than my laptop because of this keyboard. I only use my laptop for things I find hard to do on the ipad. I wish this keyboard functions keys for such an expensive product but it doesnt. Overall great product but quite pricey.
KAJOHIO –
Upgraded from the previous keyboard fold up case version, mainly for the backlit keyboard trackpad. Does make the iPad more like a laptop. It does add some weight to the device when carrying around but willing to trade that off for the increase functionality. Purchased on sale, probably because the brand new iPad just released is thicker and jury appears to be out on compatibility with this keyboard version due to increased thickness with the new iPad. Apple claims it works but when closing, its tight. I do like having the extra port available since charging happens in the hinge of the keyboard, adds some flexibility. Trackpad does help with eliminating fingerprints on screen since gestures are similar.

The is the best overall keyboard case for the iPad Pro. They keys have the most travel and dont feel like your typing on a table when using. Also, having the back lit keys is a huge win. Way to go Apple for adding this featureThe only real downsides to this keyboard case is that you cant fold it backwards and use the iPad in tablet mode without first removing the iPad from this case an the fact that the case is pretty heavy which doesnt really bother me but it may bother others. I think the extra weight makes this keyboard case feel like its better quality. The iPad sticks to the inside of the case magnetically and let me tell you it wont come out until you want it to. It is held in place by some very strong magnets. The entire case appears to be very well made and I Love typing on this keyboard.

EXCELLENT Just so you know I bought this for my new 5th gen ipad pro and it works perfectly so ignore the description only for 3rd and 5th. It didnt make sense to me that the new keyboard fits 3rd, 4th and 5th but this one skipped 5th… like really… same 3 point connection on the back of the ipad and trackpad and keyboard connect flawlessly. I bought it open box 176 and 0 regrets. Would not spend 350 on the new one or even new…. best deal right now so grab it if you need it for work

This is a very nice keyboard. Over a year of daily use, it still functions as well as new. The looks though not so much. The surfaces that have the most frequent contact with the hands look very shabby and I try to be very careful with all electronics, in general.Considering its ridiculously high price, my rating of the item is low.Would I buy it again Yes. Because it spoils you. Other offerings seem frail in comparison.Would I recommend this to anyone Never. For what it is, it should cost about 100, at the maximum.

I was very skeptical of purchasing this given the price point but Im glad that I did. The keyboard feels just like a regular keyboard on a laptop and sits well. I was a little disappointed that the pad doesnt go all the way back so you can fold it as a tablet in your hand. If you need to use it as a tablet you have to take it off of the keyboard stand itself. But, thats something small that I can live with. The magnetic attachment the iPad has to the keyboard is strong and this thing doesnt move at all. I love the trackpad on this thing where I can use this as a mini Macbook. This is a good purchase and a good thing to have especially if you want to do work without having to lug around a separate laptop if you dont need to

The magic keyboard brings the the iPad Pro closer to a laptop comuter. The magic keywoard key travel is very good. The track pad works excatly as you expected. The total weight of the keyboard with the iPad is as heavy as Apple Mac laptop If you need raw comlputering power, get an Apple Mac Pro instead. If you are just watching videos, listening to music, playing Apple Arcade, browing the web, then iPad will suit your needs. If you are graphic artist, wanting to draw, then iPad Pro is the only way to go.

I was on the fence about purchasing The Smart Keyboard. The product seemed to be over priced. After receiving the product today. Here is my review.Huge improvement on the keyboard keys. The keys feel like butter compared to the Apple Smart Keyboard folio. What has impressed me the most is the trackpad. It feels great any where on the trackpad, it flows across the screen. The Cursor is intuitive. In summary, I use my iPad Pro a lot when Im traveling or making sales calls. This was smart purchase for me. If you use an iPad Pro instead of laptop MacBookPro this can be a worthy purchase. Its to bad its not at a lower cost point.

Pros Apple quality keyboard and trackpad, backlight feature is useful, the extra usbc charge port built into the keyboard opens the iPad port for usb c hubs or other uses, and the viewing angles are more than sufficient for typical use. Cons price, too expensive for what it is, viewing angles are great just too few of them. Far easier to use on a solid surface vs something like a lap or non rigid base. The top rows of keyboard buttons arent blocked in any way like some had theorized because of the floating design so dont let that influence your decision. I dont regret the purchase and use it daily but the price makes this a hard decision for most. It does get the iPad Pro very close to MacBook level productivity and feel, but adding this keyboard and the pencil 2 to the iPad Pro also gets the price pretty close to MacBook Pro as well.

Awesome top quality Apple keyboard. Much better than the last iPad Pro keyboard, which I bought and never used. This one would ALWAYS be in use if it doubled as a case. Unfortunately no luck there. Sort of inconvenient when you want to make your iPad mobile. Is perfect if your iPad stays on a desk 90 or more of the time. Keyboard and track pad is just as good as any Mac Pro keyboard I have used. Most memorable thing about this, was not cheap.

The iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard provides a laptoplike experience thats unmatched by anything else in the market. Despite the Magic Keyboard being so far ahead of the competition, it does have its drawbacks that prevent it from being a perfect addition to the iPad.The keyboard it does incredibly well in terms of functionality. The keyboard is topnotch and feels as it should natural. The keys are spaced out properly and give you the same exact experience youd have on Apples other magic keyboards. The backlit keys automatically adjust their brightness, a feature Ive come to love Ive never felt the need to go into settings to adjust them. A common criticism for the keyboard is the lack of function keys, which Im sure is a disappointment to many. I will say, the iPad Pro makes it incredibly easy to adjust things like volume and screen brightness, if that is a concern to you at all.The trackpad it also shines, as it has a lovely feel to it when you move your fingers across it. With strong gesture support that Im sure will be improved exponentially over the next update, I have to say the trackpad is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the Magic Keyboard. If I do have any critiquing, its that the trackpad feels somewhat small at times. Although Ive adjust the trackpad speed, my finger still periodically slides to the top edge of the trackpad. A minor nuisance at best.Construction my main issue with the Magic Keyboard lies here. The polyurethane material that is used here does have a nice feel to it, but easily attracts oil from fingers, as well as being prone to scratches or dents. Its also the same material found on Apples Keyboard Folio which is disappointing, due to the fact that youre paying an incredibly high price for this product. The durability of this keyboard is highly questionable especially if youre someone that plans to take this keyboard out often and in different conditions. Look at online reviews of Apples Keyboard Folio after months or years of use to get an estimate of what your Magic Keyboard may look like over time.Additional Thoughts The USBC port on the Magic Keyboard provides another charging option which is great, but it cannot detect any hardware being plugged into it. Disappointing Yes, especially at the 350 price point. But if you feel like the single port on the iPad Pro itself is enough for you, then this drawback will be a bit easier to accept. In terms of overall weight, the Magic Keyboard with iPad Pro attached can feel a little hefty. I personally dont mind it and I understand the need for the added weight. Lastly, the viewing angles are excellent. Ive never felt the need to adjust it more than its capable of. I love using this keyboard on a table, and its pretty comfortable to use in my lap as well. You may experience a tipover if you have the viewing angle at its max, or if you have the keyboard on your lap unevenly. Overall, Ive found how to use it in various positions without it tipping over.In closing the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro is what I and many other iPad users have been wanting since the release of the iPad Pro…or even the iPad itself. It gets a lot of things right and Im sure youll enjoy it if you decide to get it the iPad experience takes a large leap here. The price can be hard to justify, especially if you feel like it should be a perfect product at the 350 price point. In that case, I would recommend using Apple or 3rd party keyboardstrackpads to get similar functionality.photos attached have a black skin applied to the Magic Keyboard

This case may not look sturdy but it is very secure and difficult to get the iPad off the case itself. The extra port for charging is perfect to use the main port for other mediadevices. Keyboard feels great, almost exactly like a Macbook. Touchpad size is big enough but can fell slightly small depending on how large your fingers are. The animations using the cursor are very smooth and never lags. The touchpad works very well with all mainstream apps and learning gestures helps a lot. Overall, Id say this price tag is worth it. Im a PC guy and this feels incredible for such a compact device.

Apple finally got right, this keyboard cover combo. Up front, many have stated that they should have put a row of function keys at the top like a couple of other options out there. I agree that a few of the options that are part of the function keys would have been nice. In order to do that they would have to make some compromises some place. Like smaller keys less space between keys, smaller trackpad, etc. The floating keyboard style is nice and it balances the weight quite well so the iPad does not fall backwards. Typing on it is comfortable and not much of an adjustment coming from a Razer Blade Advance 15 and a MacBook Pro 2015. The touchpad is small compared to a regular laptop of course. But, it is easily used and once you make the adjustments to your liking it works very well. I use this with my 2019 iPad Pro 12 and I highly recommend it. It is not cheap by any means and wish it was 100 less than it is currently priced at. I still give it 5 stars for the build quality and my personal use of the device and how it makes the iPad more useful for me. If I figured the cost in it I would have to give 44.5 stars. Below you find the term value which can be taken in many ways. Value to you can be so many things like price, productivity, usability, build, etc. I rated 4 out of 5 since I could not rate 4.5 based on my thoughts above.

So much more functionality than before Easier to use the iPad having an integrated trackpad and with typing, its easy. But once you add all the bells and whistles, just get me a MacBook ProAirThis is for my kid to use as it was a high school requirement iPad which ultimately was my hand me down to him. I hated not having keypad and mouse, etc…Cant figure out the transition as to why aside from weight. Due to limited functionality I need explorerwindows the MacBook fits my needs betterIf you just need app based materials, wordpagesdocs type stuff, safari, and of the likes, highly recommend the upgrade of your iPad with this.

I tried several nonApple keyboardcase devices before I finally bit the bullet and settled on this one. Its an obscene price tag, but it really is the best. Magnets hold the iPad in place and its a literal snap to removereplace. It draws power from the iPad and is extremely power efficient so there are no batteries to replacerecharge. The keyboard feels great and when folded, covers and protects the iPad. Its comparatively light weight and covered with a durable material that resists grunge and damage. Other than the price, I have no complaints.
Huntingmoon –
As a keyboard this device is amazing. Its stylish, comfortable, responsive, and very satisfying. Easily one of the best smart keyboards I have owned and used, and I have used them all. I really like the keyboard. The case, however, is very differant. Its stiff, acting like a clamshell on a laptop, which is fine for a keyboard but terrible for just about every thing else. What you see in the pictures is about as far as it will extend, so reading on it is very awkward outside of landscape, the board wont lay flat on the back so you can use it like a regular tablet. For the price i am paying I want security and comfort and this… isnt that. Its an amazing keyboard, but is it worth the price for JUST a keyboard I am arguing not for most users. The track pad is nice, but its an extra and not a reason to buy this keyboard. If I had it to do over I probibly would have gotten a better case and a Bluetooth keyboard, the typing would be less satisfying but my 1000.00 tablet experience would have been better, as it is I still had to get a separate case that i have to remove the iPad from when I wish to type to put it in this keyboard.

I have upgraded to a new ipad and paired it with this keyboard. I previously had the 1st generation apple keyboard which i like very much. This keyboard is very easy to use and typing on it is very enjoyable. To me it is worth the money if you use a keyboard regularly with your ipad as i do. The track pad works very well and mimics the trackpad on my Mack book air. The keys feel even better than on the other ipad keyboard i had previously. It is expensive and a little on the heavy side but to me it is worth the price. I like the extra USBC port which allows the port on your ipad remain open for other uses. It makes the ipad feel even more like a laptop, but it keeps all the versatility of the ipad. I am enjoying it very much.
BigD0520 –
This Magic Keyboard is a great upgrade from the previous Apple Smart Keyboard However, the price is also a substantial upgrade. I really love the design and the ability to recline your iPad at various angles. And the keyboard is a definite upgrade. It is also always connected to the iPad, as long as The iPad is attached to the back of the keyboard magnetically, unlike the SMart Keyboard that you had to unfold and connect each time you wanted to use it, I had problems with the last one losing the ability to connect after only a couple of months and I eventually had to get a refurbished keyboard. The only thing I dont like about the Magic Keyboard, aside from the price, is that you cannot use the iPad like a tablet anymore, it has to be used like a laptop.
David –
I have owned previously two iPad Pro 11in with keyboards and find the iPad 12.9 with Apple Magic keyboard more useful. The iPad12.9in with Magic keyboard works better and easier than my MacBook Pro laptop and may become a replacement for it. The touch pad on the keyboard works with different gestures for full control over the screen. It provides a small circular dot instead of a pointer on the screen and changes to a vertical line for editing when over text. I find the portability and protection for the screen to be a great asset and the ability to charge the iPad through the keyboard another plus with the option to charge on the iPad itself. The keyboard is back lit which helps in dimly lit conditions. The keys feel responsive and positive to the touch.I would recommend to buy to anyone, even with the high cost, who owns an iPad 12.9 as it truly increases the productivity factor.
AverageAppleEnjoyer –
Good product. Feels sturdy and not like its about to break. It has a nice backlit keyboard. You can adjust the angle of the portion where the iPad attached with ease. While it is a good product, it gets dirty easily and can be difficult to clean. It does leave the corners and edges of the iPad exposed. The lack of function keys is annoying as well as the fact that the USBC charging port on the side of the keyboard is only for charging. The edges where the material is bonded together do tend to bend and flex. The trackpad may be an issue with people who have larger fingers.
Nicole1013 –
The new magic keyboard is absolutely amazing It is way better then apples previous model smart keyboard portfolio for sure Especially, since it is much easier to type on with the newly designed button, plus it is a lot larger as well. As always apple took it to another level with the whole designsetup from a physical perspecitve and it really looks great or should I say aesthetically pleasing Meanwhile, even though it isnt that big of a deal, the only thing I would suggest if I had to considering the price, is maybe making the trackpad a bit larger in the future a bit quieter also since it tends to be kind of loud when you click the pad. However, there is an option to double tap in order to click instead to avoid this incase it bugs you I tend to use the Magic Mouse with it anyways though but either way totally worth the buy we love it so far Thanks for the fast shipping as well BB

Good not great keyboard. Adds a lot of weight and bulk. No place to store the pencil like you see on the Samsungs. The bulk and weight is somewhat unavoidable in order to get the proper balance. BTW, this does work perfectly fine on the 5th gen pro. If you can get on sale like I did, the price point is not bad.I returned the pro and exchanged for the MB Air 500 gig.

I purchased the Magic Keyboard to see how laptop my iPad could be. I know what youre thinking why not just buy a laptop for the price Well why not have both The iPad is great for media consumption, but maybe not so great for content creation or typical work on a computer. I work with virtual desktops and I can use my iPad like a laptop for my work tasks like your average laptop. Then once Im done with that, I can pull my iPad off the Magic Keyboard and its back to being a tablet Ive tried using Windows 10 as a tablet, and it sucks at best. The app environment just isnt there, and the apps that are there are shady at best. This keyboard is hands down the best iPad accessory out there. The construction is solid, the magnetic attachment of the iPad is really cool, and its great finally having a backlit keyboard for an iPad.My main complaints are about the lack of function keys. This is remedied by using on screen controls, but it would have been nice if they could have squeezed in the typical even if narrow function keys.Ill also add that the iPad and Magic Keyboard combo is pretty heavy. I would say at least heavier than my Surface Laptop and much heavier than my 12 MacBook. I would attribute that to Apple making the keyboard heavy to balance the iPad on top.
Dawson59 –
It is a bit expensive, but worth every penny because it also serves as a protective case, has backlit keyboards, and the iPad sits in the right position so that my hands do not brush the screen while typing, especially when reaching up to type numbers like they did with the other keyboards Ive used for iPads. My only beef with this product is that you cannot fold the iPad to the back of the keyboard so that you can use it while in bed or sitting in a chair watching TV, etc. I either take it off the keyboard which is very easy to do, and put it into a portfolio type of case or just hold it without a case which takes some getting used to because of the iPads smooth surfaces. All in all, a high quality keyboard that is worth the extra money.
amartins02 –
Went back and forth between spending money on this or a cheaper Chinese keyboard off of Amazon. I try to save when I can but the ease of just connecting it and having it work just won me over. With other keayboards you have to turn them on and connect via Bluetooth. Kind of a hassle.I did buy my daughter a Logitech keyboard case with mouse that works great. Unfortunately a 12.9 inch model isnt made or else I would have tried that.
Fred –
This keyboard is great. It is exactly what I needed. Its a bit heavy, but also sturdy. Ive heard some say bad things about the material of the case and cover, but I think its spot on for a variety of different surfaces. Ive also read some reviews about it being difficult to open. I have yet to experience this. I actually like that its secure and doesnt flop open too easily. I wish I could give it 4.5 stars but half stars are not available. Lack of function volumebrightness control keys are whats stopping me from giving it 5 stars. Being able to catch it on sale was a plus also.

The ProsGet a usbc portGet a trackpadGet a keyboardCase feels niceThe ConsCannot use iPad at all in portrait mode.Only opens up to laptop format, cannot fold the keyboard back. You cant use it with a pencil to take notes since theres no way to lay it down on a table.HeavyKeys feel cheap and close together, like typing on a toy.Apps arent optimized for keyboard ex. Chrome you need to tap on the menu bar before you can type a locationIf I were to do it again, I wouldnt purchase this.If this could fold all the way backward to use as a normal case when you dont want the keyboard, it would be amazing. But this small issue complete ruins the product.

This almost replaces my MacBook Pro.I have the 16 MacBook Pro, and recently purchased the M1 Pro. I cant even tell you why I purchased this not a need, or really a want, just another premium apple accessory that I wanted to try. And considering its covered under my iPad Pros Apple Care, I felt safe in assuming the risk of such an expensive accessory. The trackpad is incredibly responsive, and can be managed in settings to fit preference. The back light is True Tone controlled, and is perfectly adjusted for all lighting. The literal SNAP connection is insane I dont understand how it holds so well, but once you get it close to the case, it already starts pulling and does not budge at all. I dropped the entire thing off the side of my couch, and it still didnt disconnect. The hinge was concerning for me before use because it only bends to a max of about 45 degrees, but because the top half of the case tilts, this was actually a perfect design to prevent the case from tipping over from the weight of the iPad. I say this because when the case is fully opened, and I tilt the iPad as far as it will bend, it will fall backwards if you have it sitting on a pillowcouchetc. When its extended as far as it will go, a flat surface is a must, but at all other angles, its perfectly mailable on other surfaces. You can plug the USB C charger directly into the iPad, or theres a built in USB C port to charge both simultaneously. And yes, I tried you cannot charge anything else through the port. The one downside the smooth black matte coating, is a fingerprint NIGHTMARE. Im a little neurotic when it comes to grease and prints on electronics, and this one is a magnet. But, with a nice microfiber and electronics cleanser, you dont have to scrub to clean off your prints. All in all, fantastic product. I find myself using the iPad Pro 12.9 with the magic keyboard more than my MacBook. With side car, this product is even more versatile.Worth the buy still wish it wasnt the cost of an iPad mini, but still awesome.

The magic keyboard is everything I was hoping for. It provides a safe case for my new IPAD Pro and offers a workable stance and keyboard at the same time. With the Covid19 pandemic I have had to go to many meetings on zoom. This keyboard makes positioning myself for camera shots with correct head room Oh so easy. I recommend this products to anyone. It is more expensive then other keyboard cases but is worth the extra expense to me. Additionally I have been able to add a hub that allows me to plug in usb, hdmi, and thumb drives. This makes my IPad more like a computer. I can use the hub to send hdmi presentation out of the IPAD. The hub fits on the magic keyboard. I am a happy camper
EarlyAdopter –
I wrestled for quite a while over buying this keyboard. It is expensive, and there are less expensive after market options. However, I took the plunge when I found one on an open box sale. It is well worth even the original price. Ive had a lot of keyboards with other tablets, and this is the truest representation of a keyboard you would find on a laptop. The feel is excellent, and the backlighting is a game changer. Lover it.

I was about two seconds away from selling my iPad Pro and buying a surface pro 7. I love what the iPad Pro does for the most part, but it was falling short when trying to conduct business on it. I figured before I made the leap that Id try the magic keyboard. As expensive as it is, its still a heck of a lot cheaper than buying an a brand new surface pro 7.From the first day that I used the keyboard I knew that it would change the entire experience for me. I went from a tablet with a keyboard attached… to what felt like a mini MacBook. If you already have a MacBook and are use to the trackpad gestures then youll already be at an advantage in using the magic keyboard. Now, instead of lugging my laptop to the office I just bring my iPad. I dont feel like Im taking a step backwards in functionality by having my iPad with me anymore. As far as the typing experience is concerned, the key travel is good, the backlighting makes it easy to work in the dark, and the spacing is nice and comfortable. The keys have sort of a hollow sound to them as youre typing, but not in any way unpleasant. The only regret that I have is that I waited so long to get it.

I was very excited when they announced the new Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro, especially since it did not require me to upgrade from my 2018 model iPad Pro. I ordered it knowing that, for 350, if it did not blow me away I was going to return it. Needless to say, I kept it. In fact, Im writing this review from it right now. The build quality is outstanding as I have come to expect from Apple products, and it is very stable when using it on my lap, in bed, where ever. The backlit keys, integrated USBC charging port, smart connector rather than Bluetooth, and OUTSTANDING trackpad have completely transformed the way I use my iPad. Its certainly not an inexpensive product, but I have always believed the saying Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten. That saying applies to the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro perfectly.
NetworkEngineer –
This keyboard is absolutely awesome. It is NOT the sizzor touch key mechanism in previous MacBooks which was the main reasons I did not upgrade to those models. Very high quality. Rigid enough to stay in place allowing you to tap on the screen and not wiggle front and back too much. Lite keys are great feature as well as the charging port. Also, unlike other keyboards, it allows you to easily use multi function port devices attached to the side of the iPad. Unfortunately, its a very expensive device. They next best keyboard in my opinion for several reasons is the Logitech that Best Buy carries. Much of the same functions as the Magic Keyboard at half the price. If youre going to use a keyboard frequently, you will not be disappointed with the Magic Keyboard.

This was on sale at costco for 249.99 and Best Buy priced match for me. Def helps with the crazy 349.99 cost. Its not worth it for that much but as the price comes down for sure like for a deal and grab it. It does add some weight to the iPad but its not annoying to me. Especially if I just want to take it off the keyboard its just the magnets. I love the mouse pad and the cursor, very different for an iPad. Keyboard is great for typing for me too. Bought it because of the price match and told myself if I didnt like it Id return it but I was sold within a few hours. Again though, I wouldnt buy it full price, look for deals and remember best but price matches

I havent owned this for long, but there are a few things not to love about this keyboard. Good news though the good far outweigh the bad. I purchased this to replace an aging 1st gen, I also bought the keyboard at the same time. One of the downs for me is the tilt on the keyboard, it seems to be overly resistive to the tilt and it shows the most when Im sitting in a chair. The keyboard takes a little getting use to, but overall its a great purchase. The price is a big downer, typical apple prices

I purchased this keyboard for my newly purchased M1 iPad Pro 12.9 5th generation model. Some reviews mentioned it was not compatible with my iPad due to the new iPad being slightly thicker than the previous model. It works great and fits with no problem. The new Magic Keyboard has a few extra magnets to perhaps help with the extra weight of the new iPad Pro, but this version holds it just fine. I purchased the new White Magic Keyboard but returned it because the backlit keys were difficult to see in rooms with moderate lighting. The keys are easier to see and I was also able to get this version on sale. The keys feel good to type on. I do have to wipe it down more compared to the white model. It seems to always get white smudge marks. The white smudge marks are nearly impossible to see on the white keyboard since the color is the same as the smudge marks. Overall, Im happy with my purchase.

I am Loving my new iPad Pro so far. Of course its light years ahead of the 2004 Apple iBook G4 that it is replacing I know, I know…. Obviously there is somewhat of a learning curve with the differences but in a house with two teenagers to help, thats been O.K. So far.I also got the Magic Keyboard with this iPad which of course also acts as a case. I dont know if Im more taken with the iPad, the Magic Keyboard or how they function together It is a joy to see perfectly functioning engineering like this I was concerned that I might not like the keyboard or that it would be too far off from the one I was used to, but I neednt have been and actually like this keyboard better than my old one Key function and sensitivity and keyboard size are great The iPad magnetically connects effortlessly with the Magic Keyboard and can charge from there too and when you want it disconnected for other uses, you just grab it and pull it off the keyboard component Once Id set them both up my two aforementioned teenagers were even visibly impressed and I wondered if I sensed a little envy in their look even though theyve had much further advanced electronic devices than their Dad for a long time up until this point. It is fantastic and really does make it seem like a real laptop computer or even betterGood Luck Cheers M.

This Apple Magic Keyboard is another nice product from Apple. Its convenient and works perfectly well with the iPad. But, just like all other Apple iPad cases, its a dust and fingerprint magnet Also, there is no secure storage place or a holder for the Apple Pencil. The viewing angles arent great either. I would not recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a Keyboard case for their Ipad. There are better ones out there, and for a much lesser price. The only reason you would buy this Keyboard case, is if you want an Apple product to match your iPad, so it all looks uniformed. It also carried a Hefty price which is not worth the value in my opinion.

I am quite happy with the Magic Keyboard 12.9. Its nice to have a keyboard with a very nice touch. I like how its backlit and the overall build quality. At normal price, I would have not paid it, but for 100 off I figured Id give it a try. Glad I did Its nice having both a nice keyboard and a trackpad. The iPad attaches magnetically to the upper part of the keyboard and is very secure no worries of it coming loose. In fact I literally have to work at removing it when I want to it. The iPad can be charged with in installed on the Magic Keyboard via a USB port built into the keyboard. Just a couple negatives … Its a bit on the heavy side, the normal price is too high IMHO. And there is no way of securing the Apple Pencil it kind of just is magnetically is hanging on. I would be afraid of it coming off if I forgot about it and just carrying it around. I did get another case for times when I dont need the Magic Keyboard and it has a foldable latch that encompasses the Apple Pencil. Im a build quality person and … overall, I would recommend
Tone –
So the easy of connection is amazing. The form factor works. Magnets are strong and the iPad feels secure on it. Charging setup is perfect for those who want to use the usbc port for something else. But the build quality is lackluster and cheap. Keyboard feels great and trackpad works. Collects dirt easily and I have a concern of the keys sticking in the future. And I think its overpriced.
Robby –
So Ive had this product for almost a week, and I have not detached the iPad from the magic keyboard. First thing, it looks amazing, like it really is floating. Its held firmly in place well magnetically. The keyboard is backlit, key stokes are great and its just like typing on a MacBook Pro. It also features a trackpad which is also a huge plus. It does all the two to four swipe gestures easily. Some might say that this keyboard is heavy and weighs a tad bit more than a MacBook Air. Apple has done this, because if you factor in the iPad Pro 12.9 weight on the back, with no base weight on the keyboard, you would have a hard time typing because it would be top heavy and fall back constantly or not have a great typing experience when not at the desk. Overall, Im happy with my purchase. Also to note, if you purchase the Apple Care for the iPad Pro 11 or 12.9, it also covers this Magic Keyboard as well. If there was a con to put in, I would say keep sanitizing your fingers before use, because you do get the oils from your skin and palm on here. The case is easy to clean with a microfiber towel or damp cloth.
Andy –
This is as good as it gets for the iPad feeling like a laptop, though the small trackpad leaves a bit to be desired. Hopefully, Apple does some neat stuff for the iPad in the future in the software space. The charging through the keyboard to the iPad is also pretty sweet. The backlight keyboard is also pretty great. Just know that its not probably worth it at 349.99. I got this for 185 open box, and that was a lot easier to swallow.
Jason –
This is what he iPad has always been missing and makes it feel more like a laptop. The keyboard feels super high quality and with mouse support it greatly enhances productivity. I thought the trackpad would feel small but after using it for a month it I think its fine. The viewing angles are sufficient for my needs and I like how you can easily detach it from the case when needed. The magnetic connection to the case though is really strong so theres never a thought that the iPad will fall out.The only con I can think of is the case material picks up smudges and dirt very easy so you have to wipe it off frequently not a big deal. The price of this thing seems insane but the build quality is so good that I think it justifies the price. This will definitely change the way you use your iPad so if this is in your budget then I would go for it.

I debating buying this keyboard for several weeks. Trying to decided whether this was worth the cost. In my honest opinion it is. I carry my iPad Pro 90 of the time over my MacBook Pro. It hasnt replaced my laptop but its easier to carry around in my backpack and store in my locker at work. As a college student that primarily is digital this is great for typing essays, quick searches on google whiling using split screen etc.

The keyboard has a great feel and its a lot heavier than I was expecting but in a good way. The iPad Pro and the keyboard together weigh a lot less than my previous MacBook Pro. The only thing I miss is having volume keys but swiping on the iPad is just as easy. One thing that I found super helpful is that I plug the keyboard in and charge my iPad and then plug my iPhone 11 Pro Max into my iPad and everything is charging all at once. The angles in which you can fold the keyboard take some getting used to but very sturdy and the magnetic surfaces are very strong so you wont have to worry about it slipping out of place. Overall great quality and worth it, despite the ungodly high price that you will pay for an Apple product.

I bought this then immediately had second thoughts due to the price and was going to return it as soon as it came in. I should have never taken it out of the box. Im so hooked. This is such a HUGE improvement over the smart keyboards and it really does take the IPAD to a new level. I am really shocked at how well the trackpad works and if you learn the shortcuts with it you can get around faster than touching the screen. It really is remarkable. If there is a downside I wish the material on the outside was a little less of a fingerprint magnet, but I guess you cant have everything. Is it work the price It would be nice for it to be cheaper but when you see how well it works and looks you might be tempted to, just remember if you open the box and try it out you will be hooked

This is a great accessories if you want to convert your ipad from tablet to laptop and back to tablet. The magnet gives you an option to easily remove the tablet if you want to use your ipad handheld. Same time you can setup the MKB to be a dock on your desk and always attached to the charger. Definitely recommend to anyone who owns an ipad prod and you will appreciate your ipad more and more.I got mine openbox and im extremely happy.

This is a game changing accessory for the iPad Pro. I worked for Apple for 5 years and am in Tech still as an IT Manager and I tell our iPad users, this is a must have.Pros The typing experience is superb. There is no better keyboard. This mimics the newer key style on the 16 MBP and thats a win. The angles are amazing. Theres seems to be an angel for every view Id need so far. The backlit keys are amazing, cant forget those The additional USBC is a plus I didnt know this was even a thing until I bought this.Cons Its heavy. It will go offbalance in certain scenarios i.e., in your lap. No FN keys, not a true con, but I bet v2 of this gets FN keys. The outside cover gets dirty very easily. Ive had the Smart Keyboard folio for every iPad Pro and I swear it never got this dirty so easily. Thankfully, it cleans just as easily. Cost, typical Apple fashion, its high priced, but so far worth it.I highly recommend you to get this as soon as its in stock. This is a must have for the iPad Pro and will change your experience with it

Just had to get the new Magic keyboard because I love Apple products, and I love the way this keyboard holds the iPad, and pencil. They all are charged by plugging the cord into the hinge of the keyboard….charges the iPad, pencil, and keyboard all at the same time. What a wonderful idea The keys work absolutely the best ever. It also has a pad in the center, bottom section of the keyboard. It works flawlessly. You can almost do everything without having to touch the iPad screen. Its a little pricey, but you get what you pay for on this keyboard. Only bad part of it was that I had to buy the new iPad Pro to go with it. It makes everything work about as good as a laptop I highly recommend this product.

The new Magic Keyboard is wonderful the action on the keys is more like a laptop the trackpad is incredibly responsive other brands reportedly have some lag the tilting of the iPad Pro is great and amazingly sturdy it can sit on my lap better than with the prior Apple Smart Keyboard you have to adjust yourself somewhat, as it is not as sturdy as a laptop, but much more usable in your lap than before its heavier than the Smart Keyboard, but the weight difference goes away quickly NOTE Im only using it at home and have not put it in a shoulder bag for work due to COVID19 however, its still lighter than a laptop, so this should not be an issue I have the 2018 iPad Pro 12.9, so the camera is smaller than the cutout for the 2020 camera, but it looks fine Im sure someone will make a 2018 fill adapterPricey Sure, its Apple. But it is worth it. I use an app called Paprika for cooking the iPad Pro 12.9 and this keyboard work well together when cooking and using this app.

Good option for your iPad Pro. Very responsive trackpad and excellent keys with adaptive backlight make this keyboard cover a great companion for the iPad Pro, including the latest M1 model.Pros easy to mount iPad with strong magnetic latching provides very sturdy, laptop like experience excellent quality easy to use on a lap or on narrow surfaces, such as airplane tables has a conveniently placed bypass charging port in the base of the coverCons overpriced limited angles of screen adjustment iPad can not be used flat on a table or in a tablet mode with the keyboard attached no place to attach Apple Pencil speaking of pencil, due to limited angles of display, using this keyboard with pencil is not convenient. lacks functional keys, which makes it impossible to use without touching iPad screen very heavy smudge paradise. Keyboard rubberized cover is almost impossible to keep smudge free even with included keyboard iPad cannot be recommended as a laptop replacement due to multiple critical limitations in iOS.

I did not purchase this keyboard first for my iPad Pro. I purchased another keyboard that is very good, but oh, it is not quite Applelevel quality or function. There are some aggravating things about this keyboard no function keys to control volume or display brightness. It is very expensive, but it has been a great product. I did enhance this purchase by buying a thin case that better holds my pencil. This turned out to be a good combination. I also saved money by buying this product refurbished. I saved 50 and got a product as good as new.

Apples Magic Keyboard adds a dimension of form and functionality which the iPad sorely needed. The screen is held in an optimal angle, and typing is a pleasure. The backlit keys are a necessity in lowlight settings, and the trackpad allows for multigesture commands that are fairly intuitive and integrate with most apps Ive used. It attaches to the iPad with magnets and is powered wirelessly by the tablet. A pleasure to use.Cons Magic Keyboard adds an notinsubstantial amount of weight. Its incompatible with almost all cases, except really thin decaltype skins. As a case, it doesnt provide much in the way of shock or edge protection. I keep mine in a zippered pouch, because while Magic Keyboard allows for an Apple Pencil to attach to the tablet, you really dont want to be counting on a magnet alone to keep your 130 Apple accessory from sliding off at the airport. With the Magic Keyboard at 350, it would have been nice not to need to further accessorize it just to travel.Using the iPad vertically with it is awkward I suppose it can serve as a way to prop up the tablet, but it wasnt made to serve as a tripod in portrait mode, and it cant attach magnetically when the tablet is placed vertically on it, much less power the keyboard. Not all apps know how to handle the touchpad. As of this writing, the Twitter app crashes each time you try to use the trackpad to hover over the retweet button, and that makes for an awkward work flow, switching between keyboard and touch screen operation. The exterior is also kind of dull looking. Mine is gray, and the skin is some kind of silicone rubber which might be terrific for keeping it from slipping around, but also finds any crumbs or dust from the corners of your bookbag and holds onto it like it was glued there. It has the visual appeal of a Microsoft Surface, which is fine if you didnt want fashion or flair to stand out from a work appliance. But from the company that pioneered the marriage of function to fashion and flair, its kind of sad to see that left out as an option.

Just like many, the price of this keyboard is very steep. But I did bite the bullet and took a chance on it. I figured if I didnt like it Ill just return it. Ill tell you this, the keyboard is absolutely great and its really worth considering. I think youll really enjoy this Keyboard. This keyboard will make your iPad Pro feel like a laptop. And yes, there are cheaper alternative options but I dont think the other options will come close to the typing experience and functionality youll have with this keyboard. The keys on the Keyboard are great, the gestures are easy to use and to figure out, and just the overall functionality of this keyboard is awesome Keep in mind the case does have some weight to it but I dont think thats a deal breaker. The only thing I do wish the Keyboard did have is functions keys. That wouldve been the cherry on the top. But overall its been great so far. Definitely worth considering despite the price.

Mount that Ive found to solidly hold the iPad at a downward facing angle. Its important to be able to do this when your small children are using it for Zoom classes and are too short in the chair. The keyboard is very comfortable to use. The trackpad is a game changer. It is instantly responsive and works much better than Bluetooth mice Ive tried.I love that it doesnt need to be charged separately and that you can charge the iPad via the usbc port on the keyboard. It turns it into a docking station.

Bought as a gift for my wife since she surprised me by buying us both the iPad pros. She really liked the look, feel and the lightness of it. The viewing angle was perfect for her and the traditional track pad made it feel more like a lap top than a tablet. Its an Apple product so being able to connect and setup automatically was a plus. On the flip side at 350 this product is way overpriced for what it is. It doesnt have a place to hold secure the expensive Apple pen accessories that we purchased, doesnt have an auto wake when you open the tablet, case doesnt fold back so it doesnt allow you to use the tablet in gasp tablet mode, doesnt provide full coverage which means it doesnt fully protect your 1200 tablet and while the material feels nice it can get messed up pretty quickly. It wasnt my cup of tea so I purchased an after market hard tablet case for myself at 80 less than I paid for her magic keyboard and got double the features to include not only a secure built in pen holder but one that charges your pen for you separately, back lighting for the keypad, function keys, the ability to swivel the screen around and lay it flat and use it in tablet mode, multiple viewing angles, my preferred case color choice, full protective coverage with drop resistance and a few other things. Needless to say my wife saw mine and promptly wanted to return hers and get the same case as me.

I just upgraded my iPad from my 2nd generation to the 4th gen. I decided to go with this keyboard for the sleek look, trackpad, and magnetic feature.I would have given the keyboard 5 stars but while beautiful and sleek I think apple could have done a little more with it. Here are just a few things that might help someone else make a decision about his product.I travel internationally a lot and thought it would be great to have a casekeyboard in one but its a little bit heavy. I also have a 15 MacBook Pro…so my laptop, iPad magic keyboard and a couple of portable hard drives inside a relatively light backpack and Ive almost reach my international carryon limit of 7 kilos15lbs.The Magic keyboard is also not very flexible. What you see in the product photo is about the extent of its flexible.Lastly, I had a Logitech keyboard case with my previous iPad which did not have the magneticcharging feature or trackpad but it had a few extra buttons that I wish were include on this keyboard…iPad backlight dimmer darkerbrighter, keyboard dimmer, playbackforward track controls, and volume updownmute buttons.I hope this helps.

Love this casekeyboard. First, you will not be able to lay it flat. It doesnt have much articulation and you cannot go back as far as lets say the surface pro x. But… What I love is the backlit keys and that the iPad hovers and can be at a 90degree angle. So if youre like me and lay on the sofa and want this on your chest, a 90degree angle is pretty nice VS the other cases that cannot do this. Its a pricey attachment sure, but if you have a little extra scratch, youre gonna love this thing.

Great keyboard, too expensive for what it provides. The bonus is an additional port so that you can charge and plug an additional item like a usb c to hdmi wire in but I wish it could turn for vertical drawing. For the price I would hold off but due to limited availability this is one of the only decent keyboards for the IPad 12.9.Previously owned the iPad Pro 11 inch 2020 and used the Logitech folio touch, which it was available for the 12.9 but it wasnt at the time of purchase.

The keyboard is amazing as a backlit keyboard with a cool floating screen. So, it basically becomes a laptop. However, if you want to use the iPad as an actual iPad and read on it vertical, etc., then you have to completely remove it from the case. The keyboard does not fold back like the normal smart case. It is also VERY heavy. I believe I read that the weight with the keyboard and iPad is the same as a MacBook Pro. Again, kind of defeats the idea of the iPad. So anyway, the syncing is perfectly flawless as you would expect from Apple, and the keyboard itself is amazing it is just all other uses outside of a normal laptop are basically obsolete with the case on.

The iPad Pro becomes one step closer to becoming a MacBook replacement thanks to iOS 13.4 this Magic Keyboard.Lets start with the downsides. Personally, I wish the trackpad was just a tad bigger, I understand Apple had a limited amount of space to work with but in my humble opinion the trackpad is just a bit small. It doesnt help that my hands are bigger than average but the trackpad is a bit small. The keyboard is missing the function keys found on all MacBooks, again I understand Apple had limited space to work with but keys such as controlling volume and brightness are missing, youd have to dig deep inside the settings app to control the screen brightness, keyboard backlight etc.The Good This is a fantastic keyboard, typing is perfect with good amount of travel. The deck sturdy and does not flex when typed. The backlighting is controlled by the iPads light sensor, there is no light bleed.I LOVE the fact that there is a USBC port on the Keyboard which allows the iPad to be charged, which frees up the USBC port on the iPad.But lets get down to brass tax. This brings the iPad ever so closer to becoming a full spread laptop replacement. The only limiting fact now, is the software which Apple will improve in future iPadOS releases. Ive personally have now made this my daily driver laptop. Is it expensive Absolutely but its worth every penny if you want to be productive with your iPad Pro.

Ive used a couple of other options for my 12.9 iPad Pro, but I have to say this is my favorite so far. Excellent keyboarding experience. Love how the iPad is raised making it more comfortable to work with. Really appreciate the track pad as well. I also appreciate how well the iPad secures itself magnetically to the keyboard. The ability to easily remove it from the keyboard say for writing or drawing with the iPad sitting directly on a desk is a win for me And popping it back onto the keyboard could not be easier.Do know that using this you will definitely add some weight to your overall kit. Not that its necessarily that much heavier than other keyboard, but its certainly more noticeable than something like a smartcover or detached keyboard option. It starts to feel more like a laptop than an iPad.My only real complaintconcern is not having a more secure way to store the Apple Pencil. It does attach magnetically to the iPad, but I dont feel thats ideal for taking it anywhere outside of the house. I just have to tuck it away somewhere more secure especially since its a rather costly pencil to replace if I lose it. Oh and 350 is a bit steep for a keyboard, but then again this is the best Ive used so far.

Oh my. The plan was to purchase the new iPad Pro and buy the standard foldingApple Keyboard…. well, give this baby a test drive and all bets are off The keystroke feel, the way the iPad hovers over the keyboard… the adjustable angle you can set the screen at, the totally awesome quality feel that Apple built into it… the easy magnetic mountdismounting of the iPad, and last but not least the AMAZING track pad to give you a complete laptop experience sans a mouse…. well, dont try it because you will want it after you do Not disappointed at all with the decision to upgrade from the basic keyboard….

This is the only wireless charger I have been able to find for my iPad. My iPad stopped charging from the cord so I gave this a shot. It didnt start charging wirelessly right away but I gave it one last shot and saw it was finally charging. Now seems to charge wireless charger only just fine. Its a lot to pay for a charger but my alternative was to have to replace the iPad. Case and keyboard are also great. I dont typically do a keyboard case so its a little heavier than Im used to but its really easy to pop the iPad off.

Make sure you check open box versions of this product prior to leaving the store. Bought this keyboard open box description identified the item as having smudges. Upon getting home and removing the keyboard from the sealed Best Buy blue openbox package I was able to identify 4 small rips to the right on the trackpad and several deep scratches on the left side accompanied by a larger rip. Overall condition should have said poor because whomever was allowed to return it must have a cat or small dog that used the keyboard as a toy when they werent supervised. Best Buy is located about 20 miles from my house that trip is compounded by the fact it is a resort town so I will be wasting at least 2 hours of my day in the coming days to return this item. The open box price was only 50.00 below the regular price of the item at best this keyboard is worth the price of the price of the 199 Smart Keyboard in the condition it was sold.

you know 1. its expensive, 2. its just a keyboard, 3. its expensive for a keyboard. But If im honest I jumped through every hoop I could to get this, because I had another keyboard from Brydge that I really enjoyed but didnt have a track pad, or…hinges that didnt get brokehahaha. Anyway after the 2nd brydge keyboard and still wanting a keyboard with a trackpad i settled on the apple magic keyboard, so i waited got an open box and saved up my points Even at 200 beans it hurt, but what an investment, it has immediate response to inputs to the keyboard unlike the brydgebluetooth because of the direct connection. The trackpad has many of the same gestures that Im used to on my MacBook.

The Magic Keyboard, while expensive at full price, is a great addition to the iPad Pro 12.9 2018. This model was made for the 2020 4th gen iPad Pro 12.9 but no issues with using with the 3rd Gen. The weight has been discussed in many reviews but I, personally, got used to it quite easily. Anecdotally, I do need to mention that if you have a LTE version battery on the iPad Pro will go down a lot quicker than using with Wifi. Also, keyboard input sometimes does not work when using Spotlight Search after a while of not using the device. Sometimes its an easy fix and sometimes a restart is required. I would recommend this accessory especially if the 100 discount sticks around for a while.
Carlos –
The Magic Keyboard itself works well. I like track pad and the keys feel good when typing. However, it is exceptionally heavy when compared to a basic case. And speaking of cases the Magic Keyboard doesnt offer much protection from drops. Also you can only use the Magic Keyboard in pretty much one position. While you can rotate the screen slightly up and down, you cannot fold over the Magic Keyboard to use in tablet mode. You have to take off the IPAD all together. Which means now your IPAD has no protection from drops. I do like using it but its definitely not worth the inflated price for such a limited use accessory.

I think its worth the money. It is the perfect accessory for my iPad Pro.Even though it is pricey, it does what I need is extremely well made.A little tip though, keep the keyboard brightness down a little unless you are used to charging every night.Other than that Im glad I got it.Wish it had the shortcut row however, but they would have had to shrink the keys touch pad.Better this way be cause typing on it is great.i tried a few different keyboards…. cheaper ….Save time just buy it

Granted, 350 is way too much money for a keyboard, but boy, this makes iPad so much useful. I have been using it for more than 6 months now and it is pretty durable. Unlike previous generation, now infamous MackBook line magic keyboards, these deal with debris and dust without any issues. Key travel is good and it is easy to clean. And the fact the you can pull iPad out of it easily to go into full tablet mode, makes it a great out off way when needed accessory.
MediaManGA –
The keyboard and track pad feel good. The backlight is great. My biggest complaint is how much of a magnet this thing is to getting dirty. The slightest bit of anything around will stick to this, as proven by my toddler. Its way overpriced for what it is. But, its purpose built for what it is, and it functions well. I think 200 would have been a more reasonable price for this.
Terrence –
I was on the fence about purchases the magic keyboard like most I would believe not so much as questioning the function but honestly the price But once I made the plunge and actually starting using the keyboard I have not looked back at all It is one of the best accessories you can own with your iPad Pro. The stogo function of this keyboard and how it acts as a protective case when your not using your iPad to its instant foldable feature and youre ready to type again In a nutshell buy it I seriously doubt youll regret your purchase.
CF2020 –
This makes the iPad like a laptop. Its amazing. I love how you dont have to press hard to click just tap on the track pad. It sits the iPad at the perfect height and the tilt is adjustable. Actually typing on it no difference from a normal keyboard. Its small enough to sit on your lap but not too tiny that you feel like a giant. Love it

With my prior 12.9 iPad Pro I had the Smart Keyboard. It was much better than using the onscreen keyboard but I was not completely satisfied. I decided in May 2020 to upgrade to the 4th Gen 12.9 iPad Pro. It was a significant purchase. Because I wasnt completely satisfied with the Smart Keyboard and I wasnt ready to spend the crazy money for the Magic keyboard, I decided to just use the onscreen keyboard. Over the last nine months Ive been becoming increasingly dissatisfied when needing to compose longer emails. I finally broke down and purchased the Magic Keyboard. The thing is amazing. It is very comfortable to use, the track pad and back lighted keys are great. Im still glad I approached it the way I did, but if you can budget the money for the Magic Keyboard do it
Quaksyx –
I upgraded to the magic keyboard from the iPad Pros Smart Keyboard Cover. While they do appear similar yet differ substantially in price, there are some large upsides tot the Magic Keyboard over the former keyboard cover. The biggest benefit is the keys themselves they are a major upgrade and they just feel good when typing. To boot, the keys are also backlit, which is very helpful when in a dimly lit room. The 2nd big benefit is that the base of the iPad is not resting on the keyboard itself. This allows the user to easily access icons andor swipe from the bottom of the screen as well as adjust the angle of the iPad for ideal viewing as opposed to only 2 angles previously. Lastly but not leastly the trackpad is a huge change and alters the way one may choose to operate the iPad. In addition to mousing and clicking, the trackpad also accepts swipes and gestures as if it were an extended screen. While this is useful is while youre using the trackpad, youre not getting fingerprints on the iPad screen itself When I purchased the device, I didnt fully know what I was getting, but Im glad I did it…
LOOK595 –
Its solid and well balanced and opens easily. Its even more stable on my lap than a laptop. The keyboard lighting and key stroke feel are near perfect. I like it better than a laptop. But it has downsides. Theres no side or edge protection. There is no tablet mode unless you remove the iPad and use it bare and unprotected. Its missing the function key row which Id rather have than the touchpad that displaced it. The touch pad works great, BUT the whole iPad is a touchpad so why have it. Id rather have the function keys including volume and brightness controls.
TDM100 –
I do and did not like the previous keyboard cover at all. I was using the Brydge keyboard 170 and I really liked it but it stopped charging, after about 6 months and Brydge did not want to do anything without a video of it not charging. Brydge since released their version with a track pad 230 and was going to try it but was leery about durability. They sent me rubber hinge replacements without issue but not charging after 6 months Its not like they are cheap. I took a chance and tried Apples again 350 and I am much more satisfied. I also know that it probably will not stop working after 6 months no charging necessary and Apple really does have excellent customer service. Not that Brydge did not respond but a video of it not charging The only thing I miss are dedicated media keys. I also touch the bottom of the iPad when using the numbers or top row of letters otherwise, Im happy with this keyboardcover. Getting it on sale 299 did not hurt either or I probably would have given Brydge a try but Seventy dollars is not much of a savings if Im buying two a year.
