What an excellent laptop, I replaced my 13 year old Mac Book pro (still working) with this and it is amazing, a brilliant “all round” computer and as with everything Apple it works perfectly. I run image editing and graphic design apps plus video editing for the web and it performs faultlessly without any sign of getting hot or thermal throttling. Even my 8 year old iPhone 6s Plus can “airdrop” with it. The battery charging time is very fast, from 15% to fully charged in a couple of hours! Sound quality is amazing from the tiny speakers, great for watching films on the extremely good screen. I’ve got the “midnight” colour that looks great and, not that it matters, doesn’t show finger prints etc, and is easy to keep clean. Definitely worth the money, I highly recommend the M3 MacBook Air. All the best, Colin. 17 people found this helpful

Review based on a purchase price of £172.03 in September 2021. I chose this as a sound solution for my YouTube videos as I’m terrible with setting gain. I can never seem to get it perfect so I felt like this would be a good choice. Sound: To my non-expert ears, the sound recorded using the included lavalier mic is very good. You can hear a quick comparison in my video with my Comica shotgun mic. One thing to note, which is obvious to pro sound people but maybe not to everyone, is that you still have to do everything you can to minimise mouth noise like clicks and pops. Drink loads of water and do mouth exercises (some also advise chewing gum first). As you can hear in my test, I was a bit late on this so I couldn’t eliminate my mouth noise. I’m telling you this so you know that you can’t simply click record and just go if you want perfect sound. There are other factors you have to consider. In my test I didn’t do any equalisation (not that I’d know what I’m doing). I just made the volume on each clip higher and then matched them. Be careful of how you handle it too. The recording on mine cut out briefly on two occasions, and on one of those occasions there was no waveform data recorded, although I could still hear it. Strange. Build: The build is quite plasticky, but I don’t think it’s too bad. There’s a very subtle rubbery feel to the plastic. It’s nice to touch. I agree with most reviewers and it does feel fragile overall, so I will be babying this unit very carefully. There was a very small chip on my battery door that isn’t easily visible to the eye but I can feel it with my thumb. If you want to try see it, check my pictures. The chip is above the BT text on the battery door, where it meets the opening. Bluetooth: I would highly recommend getting this bluetooth version as it allows use of the app on your phone. The app isn’t very comprehensive, but it’s useful to be able to hit record on your phone and also see the input levels. There’s no other way to properly monitor input levels as you’re recording, other than using the app. Gadget Tree service: Very impressed with the delivery time. It was shipped to me via Gadget Tree EU and packaged well. Ordered on 28th, received on 30th. The price I quoted on the top of this review was all in, no additional charges. The reason I’ve given this 3 stars is because when it works, it’s great. I’ve taken off 1 star because of the build quality, and another star because of the unit cutting out briefly as I was holding it. You’d have to be very careful and delicate whilst recording, which I don’t think is ideal if you’re going to clip this onto talent in a professional work environment. PROS: 1. Easy to use 2. 32bit float sound 3. Included lav mic sounds good to me, but you can replace it CONS: 1. Your recordings could mess up if you’re not careful, and by the time you find out it can be too late 2. Build quality 3. Doesn’t come with a memory card or USB cable Apologies for my singing voice. 5 people found this helpful

I surprised my wife with this new MacBook Air for her home business, and it’s been a winner! Despite my initial worries, the M3 chip delivers impressive speed – even with multiple apps running. No lags or slowdowns. For tasks like web browsing, document editing, and email, 8GB of RAM is plenty (she’s not a gamer, so that’s not a concern). The battery life is phenomenal, lasting a full workday without needing a charge. Unlike my frustrating Windows machine, the MacBook Air booted up instantly and was ready to use in no time. The sleek silver design is modern and professional, just what she needs for client meetings. The only downside is the timing. I bought it right at launch and missed out on a small discount that came a few days later. Maybe next time I’ll wait a bit for potential deals. (But a happy wife is a happy life, right?) Anyways, this new MacBook Air is a fantastic choice for anyone who needs a powerful and portable laptop for everyday tasks. The M3 chip is a beast, and the overall design is sleek and user-friendly. Highly recommended, just be mindful of potential post-launch deals. Thanks. 48 people found this helpful

Really impressed with this M3 MacBook Air, my old 2015 MacBook Air was beginning to struggle with the software I need to use, and this M3 iteration represented a huge upgrade, its lightning fast, small and light but with a sensible sized screen. As a web developer it runs everything I need it to without breaking a sweat, and more besides. This upgraded version with 16gb of RAM and 512gb of storage is really good value, as a professional user I am expecting this machine to last me a good 6-10 years as my last machine did, if you are a non-professional user and just want a fast capable machine to deal with your daily needs this MacBook Air will not disappoint, it’s probably all the computer most people will ever need in a stylish slim light package. Highly recommended. 10 people found this helpful

So I’m a diehard PC guy, haven’t touched Macs in years due to feeling like they aren’t worth all the hype. I work as a technician in education which means I dabble in different tech and also need to do alot of busywork, spreadsheets, audits. But I also stream and edit videos by night, so I needed something that can keep up. I hate to admit it but this was it. The M3 chip is something else! Being able to process video edits with ease, getting a bit warm but in pure silence. That whilst juggling my day job makes thing thing pure bliss for me managing my lifestyle. I’ve also streamed using this and although I had to get the capture criteria straight it once again runs like a dream. On top of all of that it’s light as a feather, looks so slick and I’ve even managed to game on the thing. Played Lies of P which is a fairly detailed game and bar a few frame drops here and there it runs extremely smooth. I genuinly can’t believe how powerful it is with no fans and 8gb of ram. If you want something for college or uni this is pretty steep but will do everything you need and more. As a business owner this will tick any box you can throw at it and although a 16gb model would handle it better, video editing is very very good on the base 8gb version as long as the projects aren’t massively complex. To top it off the battery life is solid, I charge it once a day before bed and then use it most of the day. If you’re looking for a powerhouse worklaptop that has some spare room for experimentation this will absolutely scratch that itch. It’s made my life and my workload so much easier to manage now I don’t know how I managed beforehand. 10/10 17 people found this helpful

I really procrastinated buying this due to the price, but my ancient 2012 MacBook Air was totally unusable. It was a difficult decision to justify dropping this much ££ on a new MacBook but I upgraded to the 16g 516gb and I’m so glad I did. It’s sleek, fast, so nice to use. Super quick set up, works seamlessly with all my other tech and is just really nice to use. The speakers are decent and the screen is a really good size for working and watching films (I got the 13inch after some deliberation and it’s more than adequate for my needs). For traveling it’s ideal as it’s so light and compact. Really happy with it 20 people found this helpful
