My last Kindle product was from 2010, so this upgrade was amazing I love the ability to control the brightness of the backlighting, the ability to reverse the light to dark mode…and have loved the battery life I paired mine with a leather case and feel like Ill own this product for another 10 years. I also got the kindle with ads included for a cheaper price and have not been bothered by ads being on the lockscreen. If youre not annoyed by ads on your lockscreen, or if you plan to use a case, Id definitely recommend getting the cheaper paperwhite that has ads included.

As a former Kindle Fire owner, I was really looking forward to the Kindle Paperwhite due to its straightforwardness. I didnt want a reader that was similar to an iPadthats what I have my computer and phone for. This Kindle is so easy to travel with, the battery lasts forever, and you cant really beat the antiglare. Love this purchase

I bought this when the libraries closed down and I was desperate to get lost in a good book while we were sheltering at home during the pandemic. It is so light weight I started carrying it from room to room to read and my arm didnt fatigue like it did from holding real books. The adjustable light it easy to read in bed without disturbing my sleepy guy. And its super easy to navigate

I purchased the Kindle for my Daughter after my Mother raved about her Kindle.I love books, howver with Covid buying books or borrowing them just isnt safe.I love the tools in the Kindle, like the definition of the word button and what I really love is the no blue light and how comfortable it is to hold. The books are so much cheaper to download.

The Paperwhite eReader 10th Gen has been a revelation for me. My partner had a weird habit of falling asleep to LAW AND ORDER SVU, I on the other hand found it very hard to fall asleep. I bought the kindle for her birthday four weeks ago and subsequently, it has been an amazing four weeks of sleep without Law and Order SVU.Its small, light, has great battery, connects to Wifi, waterproof and seems to be pretty durable.I feel like you cant really go wrong with an ereader, so any choice is a good choice. This model is at a kinda high price point but its well worth it I think. My partner loves it.I highly recommend.

Kindle Paperwhite EReader has performed well. Easy to use and read with this device. Not hard on your eyes and can readily change settings. I like its size and lighter weight. I also like how you can highlight words and can access dictionary, translation, or Wikipedia for definitions or more information. Only slight negative I my have, and this may be the case with all ereaders, is difficulty in highlighting footnote asterisks to get the footnote information as youre reading.

Bought one mid Dec and had to return it because it continually tried to reboot could take up to 15 min before it successfully rebooted. Store was out of stock so a new one was shipped from Amazon. It rebooted twice that I saw on the first day yesterday. It might end up going back also.If you have one that gets stuck in the reboot stage, try powering it off. It wont power off but that seems to get it to actually finish the reboot so you can use it again. And when it reboots, it takes you back to the home page and loses your reading progress.Amazon whats the issue Get it fixed

Much smaller screen than I expected. My last 2 kindle purchases had similar screens. I use my kindle with larger print so I dont need my glasses. With this one you only get a few lines per page. I should of read the size better and not assumed it was like my old ones.

Love my new Kindle I have never owned one before. Im glad I got this now during this awful coronavirus outbreak. I cant go to the library and get books out. I can get library books on this Plus I get a free book to choose every month from Amazon. And I can make the font as big as I like. My old, tires eyes cant read that small font anymore in some books Id like to read. The battery life holds up well and if I fall asleep reading, so does this

Kindle Paperwhite is my latest Kindle. Ive owned several generations but I like this one they best. Its slim, good clarity and I can listen to books via Bluetooth. For the price point, its the best one out there. I didnt remove the ads, as they only show up when it goes in sleep mode. Also, the standard 8 Gig is more than enough for ebooks.

Sorry I cannot recommend this as an upgrade The screen and lighting is somewhat better than my old Paper white v5 However, the battery life is significantly shorter. Also, his model has Bluetooth, is crippled compared to the US. It cannot play Australian Audible content and will only play Audible from a US account

I love it Its small enough to fit in my purse so I can take it everywhere. I love the screen. Its easy to read and the font size and screen brightness are easily adjustable. I also like the book suggestion when I open the cover. I highly recommend a Paperwhite if you read a lot of books on Kindle.

I normally prefer a real book but since buying this Kindle I have been pleasantly surprised. Glarefree screen and lightweight it is easy to pop in a bag or pocket. I still prefer the feel of a real book but this is convenient for travel and holidays. I have used Audible and find it useful to have both in one place.

Unpacking and setup are very easy, this is an uncomplicated device. To connect to wifi you must know your wifi password and be within range. To charge the battery I use the Samsung phone charger and original kindle cable, but its a slow process, good thing battery last long time. The only thing I would like to see is the ability to customise the home page. It can be done by using presets but I dont like any of them. Otherwise, its a simple device, designed to mimic a book.

I have not used this outside in the sun which was one of the reasons I bought it. My Kindle Fire is extremly hard to read in the bright sunshine so I was looking for something I could take to the beach. The Paperwhite is small and very lightweight so I can throw it in my purse or beach bag easily. It was very easy to set up and the battery life has been super good compared to my kindle fire.

The all new waterproof Kindle Paperwhite 2018 is an improvement over all of the other ones out there. I have had no glitches so far other than the battery percentage not showing when it is supposed to, but am waiting for an update on that.I traded my Oasis in for this because the battery drained whenever I wasnt using the device and it was too heavy.I cant tell if the battery on this device is different since I keep refreshing it to try to update it, but the screen has no shadows at the bottom. That was one thing I hated about the previous Paperwhites. Its not as good as the Oasis, but this is still a GREAT option for less money. This is more like a waterproof Voyage without the buttons if you want to know which device it is similar to. Ive had all three devicesI like how smooth the screen is compared to the other Paperwhites. It is lighter and thinner, and the waterproof feature does work. I only wish this had comfortpro night time mode but I have a Kobo for that. Amazon did a good job with this device.I also liked getting the free months of Kindle Unlimited That was a nice bonus. So far I havent had any pinhole issues either, this was a common problem on the Voyage.Id recommend this to anybody who has wanted an Oasis but held out because of the price. I think this is a good compromise between the Voyage, Oasis and Paperwhite. It has a little bit of everything from those devices, minus the buttons.

The product itself is okay, it is my first Kindle. It is smaller than I expected but Im sure Ill get used to it. My problem is Customer Service Prior to purchasing, I asked to make sure via chat that this was the one with NO ADS called special offers. I was told it had no ads it DOES HAVE ADS when I received it Also I asked see my question below if it came with both a charging cord and the power adapter. I was told yes it came with both. I have bought my Kindle in May and in general, I was satisfied with the product, although I though that the battery life would be better. During past couple of weeks, I havent been using my Kindle at all and therefore I have noticed that the device is significantly losing battery even when it is not in use. I made sure it not because of the most common causes book indexing, flip cover, wifi on. My battery is still dropping about 23 every day even when not in use, which means only about 6 weeks of battery life when not in use, although claimed battery life should be 8 weeks with 30 mins of use per day Looks I got fault product, so I am thinking about replacing it for different one…

Great contrast. The built in light helps and can be turned on or off. I use at night because it doesnt emit blue light like phones and tablets do. The power button is in an awkward place on the bottom of the device. It is often turned off inadvertently while reading. A small design flaw.

I just love the kindle paperwhite. Its lightweight, so much so, that I dont find myself switching hands constantly like some of the other ereaders. Another feature that I love is the fact that its waterproof. I am super clumsy and was never able to read in the bath for fear of dropping my reader in the water and ruining it. Not with the paperwhite though Drop that sucker in water No big deal, just wipe it off and continue reading

This was a gift to my wonderful sister who lives in Michigan. I sentit to her and it arrived on this past Wednesday. She is in love with it and is reading up a stormThe backup lighting is great and allows her to read in bed without having to get up and turnoff a lamp or put away a battery operated light. She also loves how easy to operate it is, from enlarging the font size to ordering books

Got this for myself as my Christmas gift and it was the best decision I enjoyed holding my books in my hands, flipping pages and thought the ereader wasnt for me but I have moved quite a bit in the last couple of years and hauling books isnt that great. After extensive research I went for the Kindle Paperwhite and I love it its easy to readuse, I like that it doesnt have backlight, can adjust the fronts and also makes me read books I wont normally pick up in stores. This ereader is amazing

I love my Kindle Paperwhite. I have always been one who LOVES paperbacks and resisted the ide of owning a kindle. However in recent times, I dont want to be left without books to read so I figured now was a time to compromise and buy a kindle. Well, OMG. This one is awesome It looks like you are actually reading off paper Think this, along with the fact that there are no distracting notifications, really convinced me. I love it Easy to use, lightweight and awesome battery life. Definitely recommend

Its amazing for reading kindle books. The overall design, clarity of the text, ease of use and battery life are amazing, and the backlight is a very, very good feature for night readers like me. The fact that its waterproof makes it much safer to take outside. Its ok for reading PDFs but the features like adjusting text size are more limited. As far as I know, its not possible to read ebooks from your local library.

I purchased Kindle Paperwhite for the purpose of reading my own language books. I made some research before i decided to buy this model. It perfectly meets my needs. Now i can download any books i like for free and i really enjoy reading Kindle book everyday. The only regret is i shouldve purchased this earlier so i can enjoy reading it long time ago.

I have been extremely happy with this purchase. The size is ideal and easy on the eyes. Got 2 of these for me and my wife before our Alaska Cruise rather than take my Kindle Fire which I need to charge daily. Used it all week, read 6 books and did not need to charge it until I got back home. Downloads are seamless once you are registered to your amazon account. I love the paperwhite quality and the backlight for night reading is great. I got the Kindle cover for both and it works great. Snaps shut and puts the device to sleep. Wakes up when you open it so you dont need to touch the power button. Font adjustment is excellent. My wife didnt need her glasses as she increased the font so she could read. I also really like the touch page turn feature. Just touch the screen and you turn the page. It works great. I also signed up for Kindle unlimited and have found some great books to read. A great value if you read a lot. Again, very happy with this purchase

My original Paperwhite was the 2012 model I was really happy with it, but it was time to replace once it needed a near daily reboot. Im really pleased I stuck with the like model … I couldnt be happier … faster, more storage, nice feel … whats not to loveBest thing all my books came across with just logging into my Kindle account … too easy.I also purchased the Kindle brand cover in my opinion it is worth the money, the last one lasted the life of the unit and this one feels it will too.

I like it. Ive been wanting an ereader for years, but havent been able to justify spending the extra money until now. Its smaller than I expected, but otherwise it does exactly what it says it does. And the waterproof part is excellent. I like to read while my toddler takes a bath, and I love not having to worry about it getting wet.For those that are curious you can get rid of the special offers if it comes with them. This one did, and it was as simple as going to the amazon website and paying to have them removed. I believe its only 15 dollars. The same difference in cost of getting one without ads.

Excellent buy. Only problem was book covers not showing. Seemingly this is an Amazon problem and a bit of a nuisance really. All covers blank with the same motif, not very friendly when you are trying to find a book by its cover. Searched and had to download a third party app and connect to a pc to rectify. Hopefully this will be fixed in next update. The Kindle itself is a big improvement on the previous model especially the ability to alter the screen contrast and having a touchscreen. Once set up works well and cannot fault it.

Easy to use. Easy reading, does to give me eye strain. I have my library with me all the time. The battery last several days with constant reading and the wifi on. It lasts much longer if you put on airplane mode when you are not getting or returning books. It was an excellent price.

I like the paperwhite because its just a book reader. No internet distractions. It is simple to use and very lightweight not tiring to hold. The backlight feature is great. Bought this for my girlfriend a few weeks ago even though she has an iPad pro. She uses her kindle every night to read now and says its way better for her eyes than a tablet screen. Already gotten my moneys worth after 2 weeks. Also, wait for a sale, they usually have these for 90

Purchased as an update from a much older generation Kindle and mainly for the purpose of the built in light. Works as a touch screen and has taken some time getting familiar with compared to the older style. In some respects i prefer the simplicity of the page turn buttons and functionality of the older Kindles but given some time to get used to it i am sure i will come to love the Paperwhite.

After using my iPad for years to read ebooks, Im glad I finally bought this Kindle Paperwhite. The matte screen is so much easier on my eyes than the shiny glare of the iPad or my phone. I also like the size of the Kindle now that Im used to it. Initially, I thought it would be bigger, but its about the size of a paperback book just a little wider. I appreciate being able to use the bookmarking feature to quickly find sections I want to reread or share with others. It also provides a nice search function handy for when you cant recall where a character first entered the story and a dictionary when you dont know a word. My only gripe is the pages take a smidge longer to load than I expected. Its not long, but it does take a little getting used to. Finally, Im glad I bought it from BestBuy because I got Rewards points for it and they matched the Amazon price.

Great device well worth the price over the basic. The better screen more pixels, clearer text, brighter backlight, waterproofing, it all makes this device well worth 40 dollars over the basic. Save yourself the time and just buy it. You wont regret it.

Have resisted ereaders as I like having a book. Lockdown forced me to go to ebooks and using my tablet. Light and reflection restricted from reading outside or in my conservatory. I have now invested in a kindle and am a convert.Easy to hold, no reflection from light and you can buy from Amazon onto your kindle.Only minor downside it would be nice if cover of ebooks were in colour

I lost my Kindle just before Christmas and bought this one as a replacement. It works just like my old one, but I am enjoying the smaller size and lighter feel. I love my Kindle and really felt like I couldnt go a day without it. I still like books, but I actually prefer reading on my Kindle now. Easier to hold than a traditional book when my arthritis is acting up. I also love that I can adjust the light level so easily at different times of the day and I love it for reading in bed without keeping my husband awake

I love my holidays in the sun. Nothing is better than reading and relaxing by or in the pool. You can imagine my absolute shock and horror last year when I dropped my much treasured kindle in the water. Now imagine the pure delight when I realised that there was a waterproof kindle within my budget. What made it even better was that I could use a Myer gift card to put towards the purchase price. Thank you Myer and Kindle

Since purchasing this product I have already used it extensively. It has quadrupled the amount of reading I do. Great for reading at night easy on the eyes Specific device, all its made for is reading so no distractions unlike my iPhone with Kindle app installed Very nice easy to read text. Excellent battery life THE ONLY thing I dislike about this product is the width of the Kindle. I would prefer it to be a little less wide so I could hold it more comfortably in one hand. The would literally be my only criticism. Besides this I would 100 recommend this product if you enjoy reading and especially if you are someone who enjoys reading in bed before falling asleep.

Wonderful feel to the body of it. Love the blue and the lightweight. Have not had the heart to put a cover on it. Really do not want to. This is my second kindle. Improved with better lighting, more choices on font size and boldness of the print. Of course this one holds 5000 books as compared to my old one that holds approx 1000. Charges fully in 2 hours too. Very happy.

I upgraded from my first Kindle, the Kindle touch from around 2011. That kindle was great, compact, and easy to use with a home button. The downsides No backlight and not waterproof. I knew once this version came out it was time for me to upgrade as I mostly use my Kindle on the beach, by the pool, or at night. This thing is awesome The backlight gets super bright, easily splashproof, and super durable with the rubber backing. My only gripe is that I dont like how connected the display is, giving you book suggestions and asking you to buy certain books or post to Facebook. I miss the old layout which simply showed the books you had checked out very prominently. Overall, Im glad I made the purchase

I had a Kindle Fire for almost 10 years, and it served me very well. Earlier this month, I bought a Kindle Paperwhite and I couldnt be happier What a marvelous device. I bought the Kindle because the tablet Samsung I was using overheats while reading outside in the sun. The Kindle is smaller and easier to take on the go. My only quibble is that the screen has a yellowishoff white cast. Seems dull looking compared to the tablet screen. Also the book covers displayed on the home screen are hard to see and sometimes the titles are hard to read. Overall, I am happy with the purchase though. Page turning is quick, battery life is great and the button on the bottom has not been a problem for me. I did buy a cover for protection.

I had been reading books on my IPad Kindle app. However, even with the blue light background turned off I could only read for a short period before I got eye strain and headaches. Plus, I found it impossible to read outdoors in the sunlight. The Paper white Kindle has fixed all that.In addition to its smaller size I can now enjoy reading anywhere. Could not be happier with the purchase. The fact that the Kindle is waterproof is just another added benefit for the beach. I would highly recommend the device.

I downsized from reading ebooks on my tablet, It is light, seems to hold a charge well. My only criticism is that the on screen operating manual is not very intuitive. It took a lot of trial and error to learn to use the features. Basically, it takes a little getting used to it, but I am happy I went to a smaller, lighter device.

Love it I can now read all my books and not be interrupted with email, message, and other pop ups on my device. I love reading ebooks, and up until purchasing this I was reading on my iPad, but popups would constantly distract me. I like the concept of being able to read without holding a book and not having to go out to the library then out to return but I need to hook up to WIFI when I go to doctors appointments which is why I purchased this item. I am not tech savvy so this is a big hassle for me and makes it pretty much useless to me I am unable to find a receipt either so I feel like I am stuck with this high priced item that I am unable to use.

I had an original kindle with the page turn buttons on the side, but my kids broke it. I really miss that feature. I do like having the back lighting for reading at night or in bad lighting. Its easy to set up. I like being able to increase the font size. The only beef I have with it is the lack of side buttons to turn the page. You have to tap the top corners to go back and forth pages and I constantly do this accidentally. That is a major flaw to this design. It has gotten better now that I have a case on it where my fingers can rest without hitting the screen, but its annoying to have to move my fingers every minute or so to turn the page. It was much easier when I just pressed a button on the side that my finger was resting on. Screen is good size. Weight is fine. You will need a case. Dont spend tons they are easily found online for a few dollars.

Love my new waterproof kindle. The white background is easy to read… even in the dark. It small so easy and light to hold, and you can just chuck it in your bag. The new waterproof feature is excellent. Now not worried reading in the bath or around the pool. Book range is massive and cheap to purchase. Always got a great new book on me. So good got one for my 11 year old son. Means he is reading and not on screens all the time.

Since everything goes digital, its time for an EReader. When I bought mine several years ago, I was pretty skeptical, but after several days I fell in love with this one. Easy to read in the dark or at bright sun. You can choose font size. You can make bookmarks and notes. For schoolkids and students it has dictionary and access to wiki if you are connected to the Internet through wifi and signed with your Amazon account. Dictionary doesnt need account nor Internet access. With Calibre free program for library management Kindle makes perfect digital library with unlimited capacity. You can add or remove books from your reader, keeping them in your library at computer, convert them to or from almost all ebook formats and a lot of other things. This one I bought as a gift and looks like it worked.

Wife absolutely loves it. Its bright and incredibly easy to read. She is extremely happy about how easy it is to use. She finds a book and downloads quickly. It is light and compact so easily portable. This is great for her as it fits nicely in most of her bags. The battery life on this has been exceptionally long. Very happy with the purchase. This Kindle Paperwhite is great for reading outside, pool side, or my favorite, Mommy bubble bath time. It is much lighter than my Kindle Fire tablet, which is a tablet I also recommend. Easy to use and just like my Fire tablet I can still use the black background with white text. I enjoy reading day or night without eye strain. My book is available on any of my devices and I just pick up right where I left off. Battery life is much longer as well as this device is only an ereader.

So I bought one as a present and one for myself to replace the old kindle I had. To say Im disappointed is an understatement. My old kindle which must be at least 6 years old is more responsive on the screen and the battery power seems far superior. Also although this new one states high resolution screen, when you sit them side by side the old kindle screen wins hands down. Im incredibly disappointed by this purchase. I bought online but really would recommend if you already have a kindle take your old one into a shop and compare them side by side if Id done that I certainly wouldnt have bought it Not sure what the development has been over the years but the general build quality of this model is definitely inferior to my old one of so many levels.

This kindle has been a good little companion device. It is easy to use and has enough storage for all the books I can ever read. I bought one of these late November 19 to replace my first, much loved Kindle acquired in 2008. I expected the technology to be better as you would expect of any technology 12 years later and the hardware to be at least as good. Boy, was I in for a surprise. The new Kindles software navigation architecture etc was clumsy and not nearly as intuitive as the Kindle app on my iPad or on my iPhone. Why would they do that It was almost as if they found a software designer to construct it who had never used a Kindle. The touchscreen was sometimes unresponsive just enough to be annoying, especially as the other two device Kindle apps worked fine. Today the screen froze and is still frozen. I will take that up as a service issue, but it points to the device being a low end, cheap and nasty piece of work that needs a total redesign. My old Kindle was a pleasure, but this one is like a paperback book whose pages keep falling out.

For over 20 years, I have been a video game collector. I have always enjoyed a good interactive story. In recent times, I have been wanting to get back to reading and exploring new and more detailed stories. That said, I picked up the Paperwhite, and absolutely love it. The eink tech used in these is so neat, and uses barely any battery power. You can charge these, and carry it with you for several weeks, if not longer, before needing a charge. The book storefront is easy to access with countless books available. Love it

Hardware is light. Added case from Best buy. Opening case starts warm up and opens current book after a brief pause from sleep. Opens to page you left on. No page turn button but a simple tap turns page or you can swipe. Tapping top of page brings up menu, then tapping below menu returns to page. Closing cover puts device in light sleep mode first and then deeper sleep if not reopened.Software has 2 limitations. I downloaded 2 books onto my Win 10 laptop that were free for Amazon Prime members but 9.99 otherwise. I could not download them onto my reader. I got a message that the book was not compatible with my device. As reported elsewhere, you cannot download from Canadian public libraries. I knew that when I bought it so not a problem for me personally.

Scored this during the Black Friday promotion for 85. Device has a bit of a learning curve for those new to ereaders or those upgrading from prior Kindle models. Slightly disappointed in the number of newspaper and magazine options, but thats not necessarily a fault of the Paperwhite. Text is extremely easy to read, and pages are easy to navigate once you learn the controls, Device is lightweight, particularly compared to older Kindles. Dedicated use to the Paperwhite will reduce eye strain via blue light phone tablet exposure. This is a great way to encourage yourself to distraction free, focused reading. Now, all I need is a case to take this on the road, and find some extended leisure to catch up on a few quality reads.

I cannot say enough positive about this. Ten stars if I could. Love this Kindle reader. The light is so easy on my eyes. Even better than reading on my iPad which is bigger. I have purchased more than one and have given as gifts. You cannot go wrong there.

I am an avid reader and adore the new paperwhite To me, its the perfect reader. No light bleed thru, easy to control the amount of backlight, easy to download books and simply just easy to read my books. It did not come with the very latest software uploaded but within 24 hours of being connected to my WiFi, the kindle updated itself. Honestly, Ive never purchased a smart phone that didnt need an update within minutes of activation…Android or Apple.

Love this Kindle I havent always been a big reader, but I wanted to start reading more before bed to help me get to sleep faster instead of getting stuck on my phone. The light can get as dim completely off if you need or as bright as you need. Text appears crisp on the screen which makes reading easy on the eyes. Screen refresh time and response time of touching things on the screen is reasonably fast and fluid for an eink display.

Ive owned two Kindle Paperwhites prior to this one and I sold or returned those, but this one is a keeper. The Paperwhites that I previously owned did not have a flush, onepiece frontthe bezels were slightly raised above the touchscreen. I did not like this because every time I pressed the touchscreen even if just gently, I felt that I was pressing the screen IN, because it was a second piece that seemed behind the bezels kind of like a picture frame, and I was pressing the picture inward. The cheaper, nonPaperwhite regular Kindle has this exact set up like a picture in a picture frame.Im a very voracious reader and I love this Paperwhite Kindle. The back of it is a smooth yet rubberyfeeling material that makes it nice to have a good hold on while reading with one hand. It is so light I can hold it for hours on end while reading. I can read peacefully at night without disturbing my husbands sleep because I can turn all the lights off and still read in the dark. I think Amazon finally got it right.

I had a Kindle paperwhite before but this one is amazing. It is so light weight. It is easy to hold by one hand to read. Reading is very comfortable with back light. I have not used the water resistant part due to this Covid 19 situation . I would highly recommend if you would like to have a kindle which can fit easily and light in weight. You can also enjoy it with its 4g feature.

I no longer need to order paper books to be shipped from the other side of the planetThe convenience of being able to purchase books written in English OR Swedish and have them downloaded in a minute is fantastic. The screen is glare free and it very much feels like reading a physical book. The battery lasts for weeks and I can literally bring my whole library with me wherever I go I highly recommend this product and I cant believe I havent heard much about it until now

This kindle has the same screen size as my old bulky one but is missing the keyboard which is now on screen and a lot more user friendly. Unbelievably light and has a light in the screen that you can adjust for lighting conditions. You can have it turned off completely if you are in a well lit room or in sun or turned up to read in the dark. Battery does NOT last weeks like they say tho it may if you never turned it on but it still lasts me days before I need to charge it. That may vary if you always have the light turned on to full brightness. Overall very happy with this product and love the nonglare screen for reading as opposed to a tablet as it is so much easier on my eyes.

Product is great, but the screen lags and is a little slow to load from one to the next. Not sure if this is normal, but doesnt impact me too much. Im excited to eventually start using this during travel rather than carting heavy books in my luggage.Click and collect function with Myer was super quick and easy.

I returned this item. Technical difficulties. Page freezing. Repeatedly giving me the message that it did not recognize my wifi . The first week I had it I read an entire novel. From that point on nothing worked or I was baited into reading a novel and after reaching the 3rd or 4th chapter I would get the message that it was just a sample and would I like to rent the book. Could not access the menu to pursue issue further. I prefer just reading a paper book with no drama attached. Thank you but not my thing. I still prefer the old fashioned way of turning pages.

This product is a little pricy compared to nonkindle competitors but I am still very happy with this device. Better resolution than the one I replaced which gave out after 5 years. The back light is very nice and adjustable. Device can be a little laggy at times but less laggy than my last kindle

Very easy to use and read. The white screen is easy on the eyes for long periods of time and seems to show up well in all lighting situations. For me the only negative might be a bit slower response on page turning than my old kindle. Wonder if there is a sensitivity setting I havent found yet. Battery life is great too.

Its wonderful to read on. Pages turn easily. Sometimes too easily. Easy to figure out how to adjust font and learn words that may not be apart of your vocabulary yet. I enjoy using it. The only part that keeps it at 4 stars, is it takes forever to find other books. But…forever may just be a first world problem. Its wonderfully priced for what you get. I definitely recommend.

I was pretty reluctant on moving from hardcover books to the electronic format. But I am glad I took that leap of faith. The lowlight reading really is a blessing, when you want to do some bed time reading.Kindle books are relatively cheaper, and plus the amount of physical clutter that is minimized, helps staying more organized. And the best part is that it reduces a lot of weight while a travel. This purchase was inspired by my earlier one, and this is a gift to a dear friend.

It might be a good device but since I have been unable to get tech help to be able to download books from my library, or to prevent it from freezing up, I am not sure. I tried calling Amazon and they hung up on me. I tried calling Best Buy but after waiting on hold for over twenty minutes twice, they too hung up on me. My son is supposed to visit this summer. Hey guys. I bought this just before social isolation and distancing will be a norm in the next few months I hope. Not impossible in the next few years. Depending on how the Novel corona virus mutates. Despite our preference to read, feel, smell the actual paper of a book, nothing beats the safety, convenience of accessing books, novels, thousands or millions of literatures on Amazon.Get one for each children you have, so they can appreciate how the world was once upon a time. Not just the tale and stories you tell them.Seriously you do not want to make that trip to the book store, you do not want to leave your children at the library.Granted, there is internet, desktop, laptops, tablets, iPad, smartphones, how long does the battery last How about when the internet connection is patchy This Kindle is not a replacement but a complimentary for your smartphone phone and other usual devices. I always use my laptop or mobile phone to browse and purchase books from Amazon bookstore. You should check their Kindle unlimited subscription as well. I tried one month trial, but decided not for me.After I have made a few selections and purchased those books, if youre at home Kindle will download them automatically. If Im out and about or overseas, I simply hotspot the mobile phones and connect the Kindle.I found the amount of data downloaded almost negligible, far less when compare to watching YouTube for 10 minutes not at scientific or reliable observations. The battery lasts for days, in my case usually after 23 days of using it, 56 hours reading time per day. The battery percentage drops to around 8085. I usually charge it up to full or top it up while browsing my phone.2030 minutes or less on the wall will recharge it fully. The screen is topnotch, no glares compared to mobile phone. At night time it is easy on the eyes as well. You can adjust the text size and font. You can check dictionary internet needed.I have used it while in the bathtub and while relaxing in swimming pool but never dunk it in the water to test it. A bit of water spray we as ok just wipe it off. It really gives you a peace of mind. The only thing is once you finished reading you cant give it to someone else. Finally, does 8gb storage enough, or should you buy a 32 gb ones 8gb is plenty, about 5000 to 6000 books base on my search on Google.Unless you are planning for audiobooks and comics and plenty of them at one time, get the 32gb.

Being an avid reader every day, I believe that my experience with Kindle ereaders carrys some weight. Over the years I have burned out a number of e readers. My favorite OS was the 1st Kindle. Unfortunately, I wore out the tabs. So, I was not particularly pleased with the whole paperwhite OS series. Now for the good news I just purchased my latest Kindle10th gen OS. These are the items that I have liked so far 1. Better cpuram. 2. Greater storage. 3. Faster charging time. 4. Longer lasting battery. 5. Easier navigation. Now, I have only had it for about a month, so, as time goes by Ill learn more. At this point, I am very satisfied with my purchase.

A great e reader , easy to buy books, easy to side load books, easy to borrow ebooks from library. Good screen. Good battery. It would be 5 stars if it had page turn buttons, and a Power onoff button anywhere but the bottom. One handed holding requires a finger under the bottom which occasionally will press the button and put the reader to sleep while you are reading. A little less likely when inside a case, but it is sleek and pleasant to hold and read without a case.

When she goes out of town or to simply a doctors appointment she has something small and simple to keep with her at all times to dive into a good book. She loves it and highly recommends it. Should have kept last generation model. This is full of quirky little glitches. I dont know if is just a defective one or its inherent in this new model. I.E. turning pages by tapping on right side, sometimes it will just jump back two or three pages, does this frequently. Really messes with your reading. Font doesnt stay on setting, charge indicator is faulty. Other than that is still good old Kindle, and I read a lot, this is my third kindle paperwhite.

This is my first kindle ever. I like that i can read at night without extra light. You can modify the font size, font type, you can save themes so if you loan it or like different fonts for different book genres yeah that happens, i like goth fonts for certain books you can do that. There are some ads here and there, and the screen goes into an add when you lock the kindle. This kinda bothers me, but I did buy the version with adds special offers. So far i have charged it once and it has lasted for a week.IT comes with a usb cable, but not with a plug, so be aware of that. you can use any other you probably have lying around, or a strip with usb plugs or if you upgraded your house, you must likely have usb plugs in the walls already.

I love my Kindle, this is my fourth and as should be the case the best so far. Theres nothing worldbeating as an advancement, its just thinner, lighter, small improvements like the flatter surface of the screen and surround and the currenttitle showing as wallpaper, nice but no biggie. I do wish theyd do a bit more work on the software, its always been the weakness very slow, quite clunky, never sure whether youll get what you asked for.

Still learning how to drive it as I am in my eighties I find some difficulty in comprehending all of the instructions, however, the screen image is very good, I have ordered my first book, and working my way through it. I didnt like the new Kindle Paperwhite as well as the old Kindle Keyboard that I have. The new Kindle has too many ads. Viewing the list of books was very awkward. You could either look at your collections or your entire list of books. On the old Kindle there were no ads and you could view your collection along with those book that werent yet in a collection. Also, if you removed a book from the old Kindle, you no longer saw it. On the new Kindle I removed a book, but it still showed up in the list. I remove books I dont want to read for whatever reason. I dont always remember the names of these books. On the new Kindle those book titles still show up, so you begin reading them again only to discover that its the book you dont want. It was very confusing. The only thing I liked about the new Kindle was the fact that the screen was backlit so you could read at night without extra lighting. There were more cons than pros for me, so I ended up returning the new Kindle Paperwhite and sticking with my old Kindle Keyboard.

I have several earlier Kindles, including a couple of Paperwhites, and wasnt at all sure there was any reason to buy a newer one, until this one added water protection. I tend to be paranoid about damaging my portable electronics, so I have never used anything like this while in the tub without sealing it in a plastic zipbag. It turns out that this is great ashore as well, and I would have had no regrets at all about having bought this even if it hadnt been waterproof. It quickly became my goto ereader for almost all my reading. Ive liked to have multiple books going at once, each on its own device, so I can set one down and pick up another, rather than going through menus, but I find myself doing that less and less. I just mostly read on this guy.Not long ago, I actually paid the fee to get rid of special offers, and that has turned out to have been well worthwhile not only am I no longer burdened with distracting ads for stuff of absolutely no interest or worse, appearing to be of interest, but not delivering, but suddenly the device works pleasingly better Instead of a lengthy process of waiting and swiping and waiting and swiping, the page I was last reading is ready in about two seconds. Setting the book down and closing the sleepwake cover, then picking it up and opening the cover, is hardly different than closing and opening a book, minus wrestling with the physical bookmark. That means no pin protection at entry, but setting parental controls to block access the store should prevent unwanted purchases. I prefer to visit the store on my Chromebook anyway.I have a Kobo Clara HD as well, and it is certainly a better piece of hardware in many ways, and I do use it a lot mostly for reading articles Ive saved to Pocket from the internet, but Kobo has infrastructure issues.Adjustable color lighting is a good feature, which I have appreciated on tablets and the Kobo, and I am glad it is coming to Kindles, but it wasnt a dealbreaker. Though it might tempt me when it comes out on a Paperwhite.Overall, a good device and a rewarding purchase.

Service from John Lewis was excellent. Ordered this in the afternoon via Click Collect and picked it up from my local Waitrose next day.Unboxing was challenging. The Paperwhite came with its default language in Japanese It was only by guesswork that I was eventually able to login into my Amazon account and then reach the settings to change the language to English. This also then gave me access to the English instructions which are preloaded onto the Kindle. Might be better if you get a hard copy Quick Start guide with the product. Once up running, I find it better than using the Kindle app on the iPad as its much lighter to hold carry. There are also less distractions when using it, so I tend to concentrate more on the book. Still prefer hard copy books but as eReaders go, I would recommend this.

This is my first ereader. I just wanted the most simple way to tap into the Amazon ebook library and this was it for me. The display is crisp and the back light is even. This device is the perfect size for me for travel, reading in bed or just around the house. My only complaint regarding the design is the placement of the power button on the bottom of the device. The way I hold the device, sometimes I accidentally turn it off while reading. Not a huge issue, as it just goes into rest mode and comes back on quickly. If youre on the fence regarding the with special offers version, that just means there are ads for books on the lock screen. Personally, Ive barely noticed.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite EReader with special offers 6 8GB Black ModelB07CXG6C9W SKU6306574 very clear long battery If you own an earlier Paperwhite and its still functional there is no compelling reason to buy the Gen 4 AllNew Paperwhite Amazon misleadingly refers to this as 10th Generation. Its a 10th generation Kindle ereader but only the 4th generation Paperwhite unless a limited degree of water resistance not waterproof as they claim is important to you or you want Bluetooth capability for Audiobooks. Neither of these are remotely important nor needed by me in an ereader and Audiobooks are handled better by smaller, lighter and less power hungry devices. The additional storage is coals to Newcastle as Amazons cloud can hold any overstorage needs an owner has. Personally, I dont know anyone who has ever run out of onboard storage on any Kindle, including the very first keyboard models, despite loading them with hundreds of books. The much touted, by Amazon, thinness and lightness of this edition is, in my opinion, overblown. Yes it is slightly thinner and slightly lighter but not paradigm changing. Also beware the supplied micro USB cable packaged with mine will not fit into the device, maybe yours will. All in all I find it breathtakingly stupid andor venal of Amazon to ship a device so poorly engineered and quality controlled as to not have a functional charging cable.

Nice ereader. I would recommend it if you already have an Amazon library of purchased ebooks from an older Kindle ereader. As one is unable to transfer them to another nonKindle ereader. It is easy to use and maneuver around in this ereader. There are a lot of books to buy from Amazon. The adds that come up are not a bother. A con is the lighting system. I also purchased a different ereader. It was the Kindles competitor. After comparing the two ereaders we decided to buy the nonKindle ereader. Loved the Comfort Pro Light and the ease of downloading Overdrive books directly from the public library without having to go through an Amazon account. I highly recommend the non Kindle ereader if you like to borrow ebooks from the library instead of purchase them. One also has the opportunity to buy books from the competitors store if one wanted too.

The title mentions special offers, which is a kindle program that displays ads on the lock screen. In order to remove it you have to pay approximately 20 dollars. Its an amazon deceptive offer, that is generally sold by default together with the kindle without clearly explaining what it is. To buy a kindle without special offers, you need to actively opt out and this will increase the price by 20 dollars. But again, in the product description they dont tell you what special offers means, and you might think that the offer refers to the kindle

My Kindle Oasis 2017 died on me unexpectedly. I could not justify the repurchase of an Oasis given the price and decided to opt for its lower cost brethren. I have been insanely pleased with this device. At the time, the Oasis was the only waterresistant Kindle on the market, but the paperwhite joined that fold. I thought Id miss the physical page turn buttons, especially as a lefthanded person. However, Amazon has given a very generous amount of space for the next page hit box which makes onehanded reading very easy.It keeps the same amount of dpi as the Oasis and I do enjoy the matte finish on the back over the metal backing of the Oasis. Overall, very happy with this device and happy to have an ereader again.

Bought this for my 89 year old father who just found out he had macular degeneration and was noticing difficulty reading the Bible. Love the black on white paperwhite. Easy on the eyes. Much less eye strain. Not knowing much about kindles, I was able to download the Bible and set the font to a larger and bolder size. Navigating through the books of the Bible is fairly easy and my Dad is able to do this with little frustration. I do wish there was a quickguide or instruction booklet for my father to refer too and also for me since I am helping him. I bought it because I would not be able to go to the library to borrow books during the pandemic. I love how I can read in bed without having a light on and it is very lightweight as well. I still like the feel of a book, but I know I will get plenty of use out of my Kindle. It will be great on a trip to not have to pack several books and will be much lighter to travel with. Better on the eyes in pitch black darkness than a phone.Battery life is not as great as perhaps touted. Dont see it lasting for months nor even weeks. Maybe a week or two tops. I bought this device to upgrade from a 2nd edition Paperwhite. This new version runs much faster, and the interface is mostly the same. All my books transferred over once I set up my account, so no problems there. If this is your first Kindle, I recommend getting the kindle unlimited on Amazon. There are a ton of free books, and you can borrow up to 10 at a time.Screen is great for reading in any condition, and adjusting the font size or brightness is easy to do. I highly recommend this device

I got this as a replacement for an elderly Simple Touch Nook ereader that I used for many years and finally wore out. I debated for a while on whether I should purchase another, newer Nook or give in to the Kindle. Beyond that I was torn on getting the baseline Kindle or the more expensive Paperwhite. In the end I decided that the Black Friday pricing on the Paperwhite was good enough to take the plunge in that direction. After using it for several weeks I generally pleased with the purchase. The eink screen is VERY crisp, which was expected based on the marketing and reviews. But, when you look at it side by side with another reader you can see really how much sharper the characters, and especially images, are compared to lower resolution readers. On top of the clarity, the screen refreshes very quickly, faster in fact than I can usually turn a paper page. I do somewhat miss having a physical page button, but thats probably just an artifact of my previous reader that I got used to. I really do miss having a physical home button as I find it takes several swipes at the top of the screen to get the menu to open. The last screen specific feature is the screen light. I honestly wasnt sure exactly what to expect but I love it. Adjusting the screen brightness takes the screen from the typical paperback page color to a bright white in 24 levels. Ive found that about 23rds of the way up is perfect for me to read in a dark room, but there is plenty of variability to please most readers. The light never feels sourcey the screen is just evenly that brightness all across its surface. Using the light eats into the battery life, but running at brightness 1 is generally fine for normal room lighting conditions anyway. After a couple of weeks of use like this every day for a bit, Im sitting at 52 battery. In terms of memory I got the 8 gb model, which should be plenty fine for a fairly large number of regular books, which take up very little space. I do wish there was a micro SD card slot for expanding the memory as sometimes in the past I have uploaded things like PDF books and manuals to my old reader, and those can sometimes be bulkier items. I guess with this Kindle I would just have to erase more items than I did previously as I really dont need to archive the data on it anyway. I just thought I would mention it. The Amazon Kindle bookstore is very extensive, and from what I have looked at the prices are a bit lower than competitors. I dont do Audible to listen to books. That said, I dont think that even with bluetooth capability for headphones I could see this as a replacement for my phone in the role of a Audiobook playback device. The Special Offers mentioned are basically lockscreen advertisements so they have basically no impact on how I actually use or interact with the device, but it would be nice to be able to have my own personal wallpapers. The reader is very light, easily held in one hand. I like that it is thin enough even with a light case to slip into a jacket pocket to take along. The build feels solid, despite the light weight. The front is very smooth and I personally like the nonslip feel of the back. Even though I have it in an inexpensive case to provide screen protection while carrying it around, I do pop it out quite often when using it just because it does feel more comfortable in my hand that way.Overall I like this reader, but I feel like the MSRP is a bit high for the feature set though I havent nor do I ever plan to test the Water Proof claim I think the Black Friday price this year was more along the lines of where it should be priced. The Kindle Paperwhite is what should be the baseline model for an ereader with all the basics, even if Amazon is intent on promoting it as a premium eink reader.Im hoping that it will last as long as my last reader and if so I will be very happy.

This is my fourth kindle, a replacement for one that went missing. I had been using a second hand basic model Kindle, and thought I might upgrade to one of the Paperwhite models. It is both a tremendous improvement over the basic model, and also significantly better than my last Paperwhite. The screen resolution is a big improvement, and it runs very smoothly. Page turns are easy and hassle free. The weight is good and the texture of the case pleasant to hold. There are some minor changes to the homescreen that have taken a little adjusting to. Also, the battery seems to drain a touch faster than expected, though overall the battery life is still fine, lasting two to three weeks I am a fairly heavy reader. As a final criticism, the on button seems a little sensitive. It turns on in my bag quite often, sometimes losing my place in what Im reading. While there are models with 3G4G connectivity and larger hard drives, these features come at a significantly higher price. I have had a 3G Kindle previously, and it is really handy to have But with mobile tethering and the availability of wifi, the price is far to high. The extra storage space might be useful for people who enjoy audio books. Personally I dont use them.Overall, I am really happy with it and hope I dont lose it any time soon

I previously had the original Kindle and I bought the Paperwhite 3 weeks ago. It is so easy to use and my previous books were easily transferred to it. The back lit screen is brilliant as I read in bed and previously I needed a booklight to read by, this is such an improvement. I love my new Paperwhite Kindle.

My husband got me this for Christmas. I havent been able to have the chance to read. with how busy I am, I know if I bring a book itll stay in my purse or my desk and most books are not small enough, pages get dirty and wrinkled. I got it as an early Christmas gift and i started using it to read a book Ive been wanting to read and finish and I was done in about a week. It reads like a book and it gives you the feeling of Im actually reading a paper back its small enough to keep in your bag and youll find yourself picking it up more often to read than picking up your phone. I wanted to cry because it felt so good to read again. I finished my first book in years since I graduated from college. The battery is awesome youll be reading for days until your next charging. I truly recommend. Oh, and digital books actually save you money vs buying the physical book. Youll also save lot of shelf space.

The kindle has taken me from a wishful reader to book worm in less than 1 month. The ink screen is very easy on the eyes and you can stare at it for hours without the eye strain you get from a normal tablet. The screen is grayscale, not colour. If you want to read cookbooks or books with lots a colour photos then a tablet would be better suited. The battery life is great. Ive charged it once over a months tinever and Ive been reading at least 1 hour a day. Another con, not of the kindle itself, but amazon. Kindle ultimate is offered for free for 6 months when you buy this kindle. However, the 6 months is only available to Americans. BUT you dont need kindle unlimited to enjoy this great product.

I like the Kindle paperwhite for reading books. It is easy to see pages turn readily back and forth. However, I do have one complaint I borrow books from the library, and have to go to my computer to borrow them. With my Kindle Fire I had been able to borrow books directly through Overdrive on my Kindle without having to get them through the computer. I know Amazon changed this because back in March, I could no longer get my library books directly to my Kindle Fire. Why do I suspect that overdrive is no longer on the Kindle because Amazon would like me to buy their books. Sorry, but I dont have the money to buy all the books that I would like to read, so I resort to borrow them from the library, and yes, they dont always have every book that i want, but i have to live with that.

I am a fan of a real book but as I grow older, I have found that not only is my eye sight compromised, but I have a difficult time holding some hardback books. The Kindle is a great fix Not only can I carry all my books with me at once, but I can blow up the font and have no worries if I have left my glasses elsewhere And nighttime reading is no bother to anyone now

Im sure it is great for some people, but I feel like Im holding and reading off a notecard. Its tiny, too small for me. It seems like three or four sentences per screen page even on small font. It is lightweight and easy on the eyes, Ill give them that. But its just too difficult for me to use. It is very sensitive and constantly turning pages at the slightest touch and turning off if I graze the button. Maybe Im a just a bit clumsy with it. It will take getting used to thats for sure. Overall kind of a simple product for not such a great price.

This is my 3rd Lifetime Kindle Purchase. I have had the original, the previous edition paperwhite and now this one. The reason for my upgrade was for more storage and waterproof. My previous one was still in great shape and working flawlessly after 2 years, I just needed some additional storage space. I also liked the idea of this kindle being waterproof as I will sometimes read near the pool.

Ive always been a generation behind with Kindles. I had a Kindle from 2016 that was working pretty fine, except for some damaged pixels, but the Paperwhite tempted me with that lovely soft front light. And it is a great little eReader. I love that I can read in the dark like I am right now and its battery life is much better than my last Kindle. Setup is fallingoffalog easy, as long as youre somewhat familiar with Amazon, and I love that I can download and return Kindle Unlimited books easily and quickly. Oh, and Im a librarian assistant, so Ive already put a LOT of mileage on this thing. Its holding up beautifully. One suggestion would be to include Find My or an equivalent so you can somehow ping it when you cant find it. I solved this issue with a Tile Sticker on the back cover of the case, but it would be awesome if you could just page it from another device, like you can your iPhone from your Apple Watch.

They sold me a two year old version, the inferior 2018 model SO MAD This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE for an electronic company. As someone who travel a lot, my friends kept telling me how much a Kindle changed their lives and is one of the best travel items they had purchased. So I finally bought one as well.I love how the newer models are waterproof, which means this kindle has come to the beach and the pool and has survived. It also means that I can pack it in my checked luggage and know that it will survive the plane flight. The device itself is super light and as someone who reads physical books it is something that is taking some getting used to. But if youre looking for more accessible reading than a Kindle is the way to go. The 32gb can store more books than I will ever read

I was really surprisedimpressed with how nice this new 2018 Kindle paperwhite was when it first arrived. When I first opened it I could tell it seemed longer, and maybe the wider bezel around it is for readers who prefer to read without a case, offering a better grip. Just guessing. I have both the Oasis, both versions, and the Voyage, a couple of them gifts and wonderful ereaders, Ive thought, and I have loved them and still do, so I wasnt expecting to really be impressed with this new ereader. I like to have an extra ereader or two so when my friends come to visit, we can all sit around and read if we want when were tired of going.

Ill admit, it took a while to figure out the little details, but finally got this device registered and set up, and it works like a charm. Its SO nice to be able to easily adjust the size of the type, basically able to make any book a LARGE print version for those of us who are a bit visually challenged. And the charge on the battery last a LONG time. Ive finished 2 books, still dont need to recharge. GREAT product

My last Kindle lasted nearly 8 years so I treated myself to a new Paperwhite. As good as my old one with some more features I do love reading in the bath and this Kindle is waterproof I also love having the ability to light up the screen so I can read in poor light. All my books transferred seamlessly to the new Kindle, and it is so great for taking away as it means I can literally carry around hundreds of books in my handbag. I am definitely a Kindle convert

I read Wuthering Heights on the Kindle, the iPad, and the hard cover book, at the same time. I expected the Kindle to be better than the iPad it is lighter and should be better. But after hours of reading, on all 3 formats, the annoying features of the Kindle kill that experience theres a reason it costs 75 uncomfortable to hold, annoying flashing screen with every page turn, annoying highlight feature, multiple clicks to change brightness, multiple clicks to change books, and the so called paperwhite is in fact a dull fuzzy grey white, even though the resolution is the same as an iPad. Compare a Kindle screen to an iPad and the Kindle looks like a dinosaur. Use the iPad Kindle app before making a decision. Kindle is great software but Kindle hardware is not.

Love my new Kindle with the lit up screen as it can be used any where, any time, any place. Safe to use it near water too, which is a bonus. Switches off if you have the genuine case which means no searching for a button to close it down. My old one had page turning buttons on the side but I quickly got used to tapping the screen instead. Very simple and easy to operate. Quick to buy and download new items. Only using for books at present, so cant comment on its use for other media. As long as it has a long life it will also be good value for money.

So I wasnt much of a reader before, but with shelterathome in effect I decided to begin reading. I started out using my iPad Mini but I wanted something a bit lighter and easier on the eyes to read at nighttime. This is super lightweight and easy to operate. Its also great for the poolside since its waterproof. I even accidentally testing that out and it still works perfectly. Ive had it over a month now and Ive only had to charge it once, with 23 hours of reading a day. If youre on the fence about it, wait until its on promo and get it. Its worth the money for sure.

Product is exactly as described. Setup was incredibly easy, with clear instructions. Ive had my eye on a paperwhite kindle for months, and jumped at the opportunity when these went on sale.My only complaint is that the battery life isnt actually as hearty as they advertise it to be, or maybe Im just an avid reader. I am an avid reader and have always leaned towards Nooks since I prefer BN over Amazon. My local library has started using the Libby platform for digital book borrowing and the easiest way to read them is in the Libby app or on a Kindle. On top of that, I travel often since I am a destination photographer so I really wanted something small, lightweight and waterproof. This checks all those boxes for me It fits into all of my purses, big or small. It is truly light as a feather. The sage green is super pretty and the soft feel of the backing is easy to grip. It is easy to adjust the lighting and add books from the Libby app.PROSSage colorLightweightSizeGlarefree screenBattery Life I read at least an hour every day and only put it in locksleep mode rather than shutting it all the way off. Thankfully it doesnt need a charge every day so I just swap it out with my Apple Watch cord when it needs a charge.Lack of coverscases. I hated all of the ones I saw online and I searched for days. I just wanted something sleek and preferably whitecreamneutral but no luck. I have no case or screen protector on it and dont feel it truly needs one like an iPad does.Cant transfer Nook books to Kindle.Would be nice to select a genre for the ads so I can get promotions that actually apply to what I read haha. Side notethe ads are only when your Kindle is locked so they are not bothersome at all. Theyre like a screensaver.Pretty slowlaggy. For how expensive it is, it should have a more responsive screen. For instance, it takes more effort than it should to scrolltaphighlightetc. Sometimes I have to tap something like add to list five times before it responds. Makes highlighting sections a challenge as well.Should be half the cost, IMO.Overall, I highly recommend it. I need something with a little more flexibility about where books come from. Also a much bigger screen would be nice. The 3 week battery only lasts for 45 days of nonstop reading. Software is glitchy. Doesnt always turn pages correctly. Trying to find a book is hard also. They need some custom bookshelf or something. Books never stay in numerical order. The 3 month subscription to kindle unlimited is the same way. Way to expensive for what you get. A color tablet with more memory is a lot cheaper. Would not recommend.

The kindle is so easy to use and I love reading on it. My favorite feature is that it allows me to rent books from my library whenever, and I dont have to worry about returns. Had a ton of books of downloaded on there, but I could never get into reading them and I just thought it was me not being able to focus. Once I got the Kindle I realized the Ipad just isnt a great device for reading books but the Kindle is. Didnt realize how big of a difference I felt, but now I can read books and focus instead of getting distracted. Using the Oasis now is hands down the best ereader today But Do I want to spend that kind of money on my kids whom will toss it about, leave it on the floor, or drop it in a bin when told to put things away No So this makes a very good buy to give them all the books they need, without taking up space, and without worrying that their face will be plastered to a digital screen all day long. This is a great buy for children, take away the tablets and the phones, at least most of the time. I love to play games with my kids too but they need most of their time off of digital screens. This is perfect for helping with that And at a price that I wont feel terrible about if by chance high chance admittedly, theyre kids they break it

I upgraded from the Kindle Keyboard that Id had since highschool, and the difference is like night and day The words are significantly clearer. I disliked reading on my old Kindle because the text was somewhat grainy, but the paperwhite is sharper than text on paper. The device is small and light enough that you can read comfortably for long periods of time. Other reviewers noted that the power button was inconveniently placed, but I havent had any issues with that so far.I do think this device, at 129, is at the high end of where it should be. It is, after all, an ereader. The technology has not been significantly improved since the paperwhites inception, but the cost doesnt reflect that.Overall, if you have an older Kindle thats on its last leg and want to upgrade, this is a great device. If your older Kindle still works well enough for you, I wouldnt spend the money to upgrade especially if you have a device with the same screen resolution.

This was a big step for me because I love books in paper format. I love postits, bookmarkers, highlighters, dogeared pages, and the shear pleasure that books on printed paper gives me in the way I am accustomed to.I bought this because I wanted to travel with books. I do appreciate the convenience that Kindle brings. Yes, I had the app on my cell phone, but I was distracted.Separating the Kindle from cell phone and paper printed books, I was intentional with what I wanted to use this for.I love the size, look of paper, and lightweight of this Kindle. This Kindle is very light and a pleasure to handle. The text is clear and the images finely detailed. My one disappointment, however, is that the reader is mono. I did not realise that at the time of purchase so the art books in my library appear only in black and white. Shame.

The entire product is floored from the design. The gas oven is a struggle to keep alight. The oven in a 700mm wide cooker is 450 mm wide. I expected an appliance at 2600 to have some basic coveiniances as, a temperature read out, an indication that the flame had failed and filled the oven with dangerous gas. An indication of what the fan switch is supposed to do. Not in the instructions. The grill is more of a mystery. I have ordered the appliance off the showroom floor based on a recommendation from the sales expert at the Good Guys in Bayswater and even the cooktop has been designed by an amateur with the slow cook burners at the front, and the higher output burners at the back where you need to lean over to stir sauces and onions at a higher temperature. The entire product is junk. I hate it. I cost me 2600 that I will never get back. What a waste of space in my beautiful kitchen. Lucky I also have an Electrolux steam oven that poops all over the rubbish Smeg delivered. They are not a quality brand. Its a product that is impossible to rely on even for the basic cooking requirements.

I enjoy being able to instantly download books from the Libby or Overdrive apps, as well as the ability to carry such a lightweight device. The screen is perfectly legible. The battery lasts for days. It is also nice to be able to instantly look up the meaning of an unfamiliar word. To me, being unused to Kindle, it is a disadvantage not to be able to easily leaf ahead through the book. All I can see is to go one page at a time. I already had a previous generation Paperwhite that I was fond of, but after reading about the new features, and buying one of the new ones as a gift for a relative, I decided to upgrade to a new Paperwhite Kindle for myself.I am glad that I did, as its water resistance got a real life test less than two weeks later when I accidently left my bag outside, overnight, during a downpour. The papers in my bag were turned into soggy mush, but after I wiped all the water off my new Paperwhite Kindle, I was very relieved to find that neither the rainstorm, nor sitting outdoors inside a soaking wet bag for 16 hours had damaged the device.I bought the new one because of the full glass, flat front. I did not like the indented front on the old one as much as it tended to collect dust and debris along the edges, but the water resistance is my new favorite feature.

I bought this to replace a previous generation Paperwhite that had started developing pinpoint holes in the display that showed light through while reading. Im not a huge fan of the totally flush front. Its too easy for my thumb to slip off the edge, onto the page, inadvertently turning the page. This was never an issue with the old style Paperwhite with the lip around the edge. Other than that its great. Ive owned almost every version of the Kindle since the original in 2007. The Paperwhite is definitely the best of the bunch, but I preferred the previous version slightly.

My wife hates me, but she loves the life I help provide for her. Including this Paper White reader that I got her for her birthday. Im not sure what fantasyland stories she reads on it that make me seem inferior to her, but whatever they are, they look good on the screen and the unit itself seems to feel pretty good in my hand when I move it from her side of the bed, to sleep alone. The soft white light illuminates her face, just like the way I used to be able to do when she cared. Overall Id recommend this product. Especially if your marriage has lost its luster, and you or your wife hide inside phony fantasy books about perfect relationships and families.

The Paperwhite is a great Kindle to carry around as your road warrior eReader. The builtin light has multiple adjustments for finding comfortable illumination levels in any lighting or nonlighting and the interface is intuitive. The screen being flush with the bezel is a good improvement since it wont catch and debris. The only thing I would add is an adjustment for the screen contrast as well as the brightness. I prefer my text just a wee bit darker, but I have have no other issues.

As an amazon prime member, I select delayed shipping for a few extra digital dollars. This has more than paid for the prime membership and I have gotten a ton of books because of it. This was purchased for my aunt who is in her 80s. She wanted another Ereader to replace one she had that broke. We decided to get this one because of the nonglare surface and then thin size. This is not an easy to maneuver device and it is difficult for my aunt to learn how to move around once she is on it. The print is way too small on the home screen and in the library and when you are searching for books. There is no way to make that font larger, only when you are reading a book. She is keeping it because the size makes it convenient for traveling, but I dont know that I would recommend this for an older person or for someone who has trouble reading small font. I am in my 40s and not quite into reading glasses but I had a hard time reading the font.

Didnt realise how small and light the device is which makes it so easy to carry in a bag …even easier than my tablet which now seems chunky Easy to set up, easy and uncomplicated to use. Very happy.

I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend so I havent used it personally but she has gushed about it seen getting it. First, if you put it in airplane mode, the battery will last forever on a single charge. The backlight is bright enough to read in the dark without being an eye strain but still works well in directly sunlight. The touch screen is all flush so theres no weird bezel to fit over. Super portable size and the memory space even on the small one is good for more books than shell read in a year.

This is a life changer for a reader. Its amazing to be able to take one small and light device and bring multiple books with you. The eink display and backlight make reading more comfortable than a traditional book. Its also easier to hold than a traditional book. I have some nitpicks, like the awkward position for the sleepwake button, but overall so happy with this Kindle.

My first kindle experience… Pros Great product, easy to use, very light which makes holding in one hand for long periods of time great. Easy on the eyes. Good user customisation. Builtin dictionary. Cons fingerprints show easily on the screen and outer edges and the back matte material easily shows fingermarks etc that can be wipe down with damp cloth. This can also be resolved if you buy a cover or get a screen protector. Home page response is a bit slow, but flipping pages is not a major problem. screensaver button located at the bottom makes it easy to press it accidentally. But the pros outweigh the cons, really. My opinion is casing is a must if you like to keep your device clean, looking likenew, in the years to come

This is a great device The ad version is not as annoying as I thought it would be. The paperwhite is a true pleasure to read from. It is easy on the eyes and feels like you are reading from a real book. The letters are crisp and clear. It is incredibly light weight and the battery lasts a long time between charging. I honestly cannot tell you how long because you forget after a while and suddenly remember you should charge it, but Ive never been left without enough juice for reading. It is nice, too, to get the cheaper digital copy of books versus the physical copy. I bought this for my wife who is an avid book reader. She long preferred physical books, but she likes this device a lot.

the paperwhite screen is far easier to deal with at night than a traditional tablet. there are some basic display options and the instant poor eyesight function works well. screen touch points felt intuitive to me. i did note that some settings larger fonts made .mobi files display in a fashion that was unreadable, but tweaking did help things. the library listings are not very configurable, so its a pain to navigate with a large catalogue. big disappointment is the screen size not filling the case dimensions better, in the flesh it is quite small.

I like that it is small so it does not take much space in my purse and I really love the long live of the charge, not like a tablet that has to be charged every day. What I dont like is that I have to have wifi in order to read a new book. I guess Im not really sure on how to use my kindle, but the courses normally offered are not offered during the pandemic. As soon as they are offered again I will learn how to really use the kindle.

This is my third kindle and second ereader. It took a bit of time to figure out how to move about and locate things on this new device, but has many similarities to my previous reader so I have gotten used to it. One thing that I really like is that the recharging time is much faster. It claims to be waterproof but I do not plan on testing that until such an event happens. The only negative, although a minor one. is that it is thinner that my previous device so I had to purchase a new cover. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Purchased this for my 9 year old. As usual, the quality of the kindle is great I have had one since the very first generation. I did notice this seems to run slower than my last paper white, but that might be due to the ads that are built in.He loves being able to read without his lamp on, and it is small enough to bring to school for extra time.

Purchased as a present for my Dad. I did a ton of searching and overall this specific brand and model has the best ratings and I would rather buy a pet rock than an Apple product. My Dad loves it and it works great and he loves all the special features it came with. We did buy the largest capacity since he travels a lot for work and uses it for books and movies or shows.

I love to read, but love traveling light. Have been using the Kindle app on my phone, but hate the caucaphony of interruptionsnotifications and the tempation to check other apps while Im reading. This device is their best so far. The waterproof rating and adjustable backlight make it a gamechanger. Syncs effortlessly and the paperwhite view even when backlit is great on my eyes. Size is perfectand it takes up very little room in my travel bag. Battery life is awesome. Only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is due to power button location. If youre not careful, its easy to inadvertently turn off the device. NOTE Highly recommend spending the extra 20 to go adfree.

I love my new Kindle Paperwhite EReader I didnt think I would ever give up buying paperbacks hard cover books but since my grown son daughter got a Kindle I decided it was time for me to make the switch too. And I am glad I did. Lightweight and so easy to hold while reading my books. No matter how many pages the book has, they all weigh the same now Love it

Waterproof and light, bought this one for in bed and bathtub reading to use instead of the Oasis 2. The oasis 2 is just to big and heavy for comfortable reading. The biggest con for this model is that the power button is on the bottom edge right in the middle. This results in a lot of accidental pressing from, what is for me, the most natural way to hold the kindle. Essentially onehanded with the lower edge resting on my pinky finger. The pixel quality is obviously not as good as the oasis, but its fine. The original Oasis is still my favorite by far and is the one that lives in my backpack which goes with me everywhere. The Oasis 2 is a major disappointment. One step forward with the waterproof feature, three steps back with weight, non grippy metal body, and size.Id pick this new paperwhite with its waterproofing and lightness over any of the other currently available models. I use this kindle without a cover.

Purchased at Black Friday promotion price of 85. I wanted the Twilight Blue color but was not available in store, so I bought the standard black eyeing a later exchange for the blue to secure the promotion price. My goal was to use a recycle 25 coupon, but no dice because the promo was only applicable towards the regular retail price. Oh, that blasted fine printThe device has a bit of a learning curve for those new to ereaders or those upgrading from prior models. Slightly disappointed in the number of newspaper and magazine options, but thats not necessarily a fault of the Paperwhite. The text is very easy to read, and pages are easy to navigate once you learn the controls, Device is lightweight in the hands, particularly compared to older Kindle models. This is great to reduce eye strain from blue light exposure, and to allow yourself distraction free, focused reading.

Perfect new Paperwhite. I own the generation just prior to this new one and wasnt sure I would like the new one. I was wrong. The size is perfect. They added a couple more lights, so the screen is really evenly lit. The flat bezel also looks and feels nice. The single button is flatter and smaller so it is less likely to press if you ever hold it at the bottom like I sometimes do. Overall, not a brand new remodel, just an upgrade with thoughtful design changes. Too bad it was a gift for my wife and not for me

I have wanted to purchase a Kindle EReader for a long time. I love reading a variety of books and have always enjoyed holding each book as I read through it. However, now that Ive purchased my Kindle, I have been able to sample several books that I never would have bought or checked out from my local public library. Being able to send a sample of any ebook directly to my Kindle is super. My Kindle holds hundreds of books, something I never could do before. I still occasionally read paper books, but I will be reading most of my books on my Kindle

The Kindle paper white is a good ereader, but unlike the one it replaces, no longer utilizes Amazons whispernet wireless and free network service to download readables. You must be in a WiFi zone. Selecting books say on the beach or in your hunting lodge is no longer possible. To me, this regression, not progress.

I have used my original Kindle for many years. I had to discontinue using it because it would not accept the latest upgrade from Amazon. I began to use my iPad as a reader but it is not as easy to use for that purpose as the Amazon product. If you have a pretty good understanding of todays technology you will love this machine. If you dont its going to take a minute to learn the ins and outs. Now that Ive spent some time with the device I do like it quite a bit and I find it very portable. Also it is usable inside and outside.

I couldnt highly recommend this enough I have the normal kindle and wish I bought myself the paperwhite version. Its so comfortable reading during bed time without having to turn the light on. I tested it during day time and no signs of glare at all. Am an old school and always prefer a physical book but at the same time having a kindle saves a lot of space and easy to use especially when travelling.

I love this reader. It is simple to use and extremely lightweight. Something else that is really good about this thing is you do not necessarily have to be a professional reader. Even if you read moderately or only on occasion, this is a good buy. The price is really reasonable. It is not super expensive to where you will feel as though you have wasted money if you do not use it daily. Definitely a good gadget to have.

My only hesitation in giving this review is padding Amazons pockets, but this Kindle Paperwhite is a great little ereadertablet. I had a 6th generation Kindle and traded it in for this, and I have found this to be easy to use and a delight to read. The screen is backlit and its brightness is adjustable for whatever light you are in. It is however, a blue light like that which comes from a computer or smartphone screen, so if you dont want the light source to affect your sleep, read with a booklight anyway. Fonts type and size are adjustable also. Highlighting is a breeze with its touchscreen start with the word you want and move the indicators to identify the part you want to highlight. Battery life is excellent I havent charged mine for over a week and Im at about 85 I didnt get too much reading in this week, though..and have no worries about having to hurry up and plug it in. Im not exactly sure how much storage I have but I do know its at least doubled from my previous Kindle. Its light and thin so it fits into my purse easily. Im very happy with this purchase and enjoy reading from this Kindle more than from my previous one. You can pick up an inexpensive cover online mine turns the Kindle Paperwhite on when you open it, then it instructs you to swipe the screen to begin reading. The menu on the upper margin allows you to check settings, and see your library. The only downside is the ads for more books, but Ive found they are consistent with my interests. You never know you might find something good on sale. Amazon has done a good job designing this reader that doesnt require a light, doesnt need a clunky arrow and button to spell words out or to make your selections. Its easy to use, and a delightful way to read and expand ones library.

I bought this Paperwhite to replace an aging Kindle 3 that worked mostly through a push button and keyboard. I did not have to move my hand to turn a page. This touchscreen model requires the use of two hands at all times to use it. The touch screen is quite sensitive and the smallest unintentional touch either turns a page, turns a page the wrong direction, invokes highlights, Wikipedia or a dictionary whether intended or not. I liked my old model a whole lot more. That said, having an illuminated screen is nice.

I really enjoy using the Kindle. Its my first one so Im not sure what to really expect but it is such a convenience to use compared to a standard book. I always was one for regular paper books but the Kindle has sold me. However a minor issue that I have with this Kindle is the placement of the power button. Its an annoyance to have it placed on the bottom on the Kindle because my finger often presses it. Whoever designed that needs to rethink it for the future Kindles. Also the battery life is really good but I doubt that it lasts as long as advertised a month but it still does last long enough for me not to ever worry about charging it.

I upgraded to this from the 3rd generation Kindle with the keyboard and I absolutely love the backlightPage turning with a touch screen instead of buttons on the side took a little getting used to, but its not too bad.My only complaint is that if youre using software like Calibre to manage the books on the device you cant also use it to manage the collections like you could with the previous devices.

Kindle has to be the best e reader in the market, if not it must be one of the best ones. Great features, light weighted but powerful. My eyes can stand much longer for reading on this ereader than tablets, phones and computer screens. Highly recommended this e reader if you love reading and love to take your books easily with you wherever you go Also, great for reading under the sunlight.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my kid and found to be very useful. Not so familiar or interested in readers gadgets before. During purchase had a dilemma whether to buy paperwhite or new Kid Kindle. Since new kindle Kid edition seems attractive with features protective case one year Amazon FreeTime subscription, but purchased Paperwhite thinking I can also use.One great feature I found is…connection to library ebooks My county librarys ebook support Overdrive Kindle recommended Software to borrow eBooks from library. I borrowed a book and it came to my kindle and it also appeared in all kindle software loaded devices. Eg Iphone. The software and the touch screen effects gives a feeling of using phones which are decade old.8 GB Kindle is more than sufficient compared to 32 GB. Thousand books can be saved in 8 GB.So far Kindle serves its purpose useful product.

I do most of my Kindle reading using the Kindle app on my iPad Mini 5 or iPhone, but I dont like looking at a device backlit screen while reading at night, even with Night Shift turned on. The Kindle Paperwhite is great for reading anytime, but I like to use it in bed for night reading. I have a lowwattage incandescent lamp on my nightstand, and while using the Kindle, I turn its backlight all the way down so much easier on these middleaged eyes Pageturning response is pretty fast, compared to older Kindle models. Standby battery life is pretty long. I recommend also buying Amazons standard case for it, which provides good device protection.

Eink and ereaders are excellent for longform reading of novels. Two niggling details to be aware of1. The positions of the navigation buttons on the Kindle app and the navigation buttons on the Paperwhite are very different, beyond just the page turning buttons. This can get frustrating if, like me, you tend to use multiple devices phone, tablet, ereader with the Kindle app.2. I found out the hard way that not all of the books on my phones Kindle app can be opened in the Paperwhite. When I contacted Amazon customer service about this, they explained that the Paperwhite uses a different format than the app, and publishers decide whether or not to offer their books for both the KIndle app and the Paperwhite. When buying the Kindle version of a book on Amazons site, there is no indication as to whether or not the book can be read on the Paperwhite.Ereaders are excellent for longform novel reading, and for this purpose, I highly recommend the Paperwhite. However, I do not recommend the Paperwhite for reading business and technical books, which typically require constant back and forth page flipping. The Paperwhite or any current generation eink device is not meant to be used this way.I also looked at the larger screen Oasis, but its physical left and right page turn buttons are both placed on one side of the device, making the buttons awkward to use. It would make more sense to place the left page turn left button on the left side and the right button on the right side of the device. Screen real estate could be preserved by placing the buttons on the side edges of the device, rather than on the same face as the screen as is done currently. Doing so might even reduce the overall size of the device, or alternatively, allow for an even larger screen.

I never thought that I would enjoy having an ereader when I have an iPad that I can read on, but about 2 weeks ago I got a wild hair and bought one. I absolutely love it. There are very few issues I have with it. The big one is having to go deep into the settings to get to the invert option for a black screenwhite text. I personally feel like that should be an option in the same settings area as the brightness control. Another thing is that it could be made slightly more intuitive in the sense that things like brightness control should be faster to get to. I know it seems like Im ragging on my kindle, but Ive read more books in the last 2 weeks than I have in the last 2 months on my iPad. Mostly because its so incredibly lightweight and so much easier on the eyes while reading. I dont ever seem to want to put it down. Bottom line If youre on the fence and think a tablet will do instead, I recommend taking the plunge and getting it.

My wife really enjoys her new Kindle Paperwhite EReader. It allows her to change the font so she can read easier. She doesnt have to buy hardback books anymore unless she wants to. It saves space on our shelves. She has the capacity to store several thousand books on the Kindle and carry it around with her wherever she goes without a lot of space being used up in the car, luggage or purse.Good deal A winwin situation.

I feel I need to approach this review from 2 perspectives1. If you are somewhat new to the Kindle experience and you bought this one.2. If you are a previous Kindle or Paperwhite owner and upgraded to this one.If you are NEW TO THE EXPERIENCE or upgrading from an old Kindle like a Keyboard, welcome. This new Kindle merits 5 stars. Youre going to love it. Here are some Kindle Paperwhite features youll enjoy Built in light. Reading in bed while someone is trying to sleep next to you is now an easy joy. Touch screen. Getting around your Kindle is easy. Turn pages, shop in the store, all by touching the screen. Waterproof. This is a new feature to this Kindle. Bring it in the pool worry free Bluetooth. Sync this up with a speaker or headphones to have a book read to you.Besides that, this Kindle is thin and light. It doesnt fatigue your hand at all. The fonts are adjustable for size. The light is adjustable for brightness. The color of the light is somewhat grayish. My older Paperwhite had the blueish hue which I found a little unnatural. I bought the Amazon case and when you close the cover the Kindle automatically sleeps and when you open the cover it automatically wakes up. I find this Kindle to be a little faster than the previous version. If this is your first Paperwhite there is only reason to be content with your purchase. Now, if you are UPGRADING FROM AN OLDER PAPERWHITE Id still be happy Im still glad I did upgrade but there were a few things that made me go hmmmm.First off I expected this Kindle to have the latest software. It didnt. Im waiting for the update where the home page scrolls and you could save font themes. Why doesnt a brand new Kindle not have the latest software Not a deal breaker because I know the update will be coming, but my old Paperwhite was updated. Last time I checked the update page it didnt even show the update for this version. A little disappointing.Secondly, I had the Paperwhite from a few versions ago, the one with 212 ppi. Upgrading to this one with 300 ppi, I expected the font to be sharp, bold, and clear. Well, Ill just say that it didnt stink. Actually I found it to be a little greyed out, a little washed out to say it another way. Now, this is totally adjustable of course. The font could be bolded and size changed. But again, a little disappointed. The software is exactly the same as my older version, minus the upgrade of course. I wish Amazon would give us more fonts to choose from. I know that we could download fonts now but it would just be nice if they were built in to begin with.So my two biggest gripes are not shipped with the latest software and underwhelming font sharpness. From this perspective Id give it a 3 12 or 4 star rating. But having said that I have no regrets upgrading at all. I would do it again. The Paperwhite experience in general is something I find amazing. When Im finished with a book I go right to the store and check out samples, download free classics, or pull the trigger on a purchase based on my mood right then and there. I wouldnt trade it for anything. If you are new to Kindle or upgrading from a really old one dont let my gripes deter you. The Paperwhite is the gold standard of ereaders. At an affordable price youre getting this gold standard. And since this Kindle boasts being waterproof, bluetooth, being thinner and lighter, and with 8gb of storage, its a no brainer.

I bought a Kindle paperwhite when they first came out four years ago. Since then, I read an average of one book per month. Really enjoyed using the paperwite in different lighting conditions, Both at home and on vacations. This new paperwhite makes it much easier to change the brightness level. It is also much faster when it comes to choosing which book to read. One of the best features, is that it tells you when its waking up and ready for you to swipe the screen to come on. The text is much sharper. The lighting is also more even. I would highly recommend this for anyone interested in an ereader, even if you already have one. Its lightweight and the battery lasts seemingly forever.

I used to have the old Kindle and I only used it a few times due to my eyes hurting every time I read. Since purchasing this Kindle, Ive been using it almost every day and I love it I like that its small and lightweight. And the black and white print on it doesnt hurt my eyes. I also like that you can adjust the brightness of the backlight and change the size of the font for better reading. Overall, Im very pleased with my purchase.

I upgraded my 5 year old paperwhite due to reducing battery life. The old one still had great reading quality and WiFi3G functions. The new one is slightly thinner with the same great reading quality. I noticed the lag between functions is slightly reduced home shop screen etc but the startup is slightly longer. Regarding battery life I charged the device 2 and a half weeks ago and have used around 8 hours of reading time with 25 backlight and the kindle tells me the battery is still at 87 capacity. MUCH better that my old one.
