I have bought 2 devices so far and managed to get them at great prices. It’s spherical and stylish and fits from bedside tables to kitchen counters. I put it in the kitchen, and it’s incredibly handy for setting timers, checking recipes, and playing music while cooking. Bought these as a gift for my in laws and my partner. Easy set up with instructions on how to set it up on the Alexa app! Volume quality is excellent for the size of the product, it functions really well and is great for setting timers or keeping up to date on things like the weather or news. when linked to other devices such as the door bell it’s gives you a clear notification when someone is at the door or if there’s motion detected by the cameras around the house. My old Echo Dot (puck shaped one) gave up the ghost after about 5-7 years of constant usage. Unlike the first generation Dots, this latest generation is far superior in the sound department and the microphone picks up / understands commands a lot easier too. I bought this latest incarnation in the so-called Black Friday period just before Christmas 2024 and l think l saved 50-55% off the usual recommended price. Absolute bargain! A doddle to set up – especially if you choose the unit to be configured to your existing set-up. You just plug it in!

August 2024 Style Name: VideoMic Verified Purchase Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 August 2012 Verified Purchase The main reason I purchased this microphone was that it is unidirectional, and hence ideal for recording music in a relatively noisy environment. I have found that this works very well as evidenced by the video filmed with a Panasonic SD90 outside a pub at a music festival, with quite a lot of noise going on at either side of the performer. Unfortunately I can’t give you a link to the video, as external links are not allowed in Gadget Tree reviews. However if you Google “Sue Stevens Laddie 2012” you should come across a YouTube video titled “Dear Laddie, Sue Stevens, Bromsgrove Folk Festival, July 2012”. If you can find this video have a look and see what you think. If you are wondering why I didn’t jsut upload the video to the “video review” here, I tried, but it just didn’t work. The directional microphone needs to be used with care. For example if you are interviewing someone who points out something of interest behind you, it’s no good panning round as they continue to talk, as their voice will fade away! The other reason for purchasing this microphone was to improve sound quality and to lessen the effect of wind. The sound quality of the built in microphone of the Panasonic camcorder was pretty good, and so it was difficult to recognize a significant improvement in general recording, but it did noticeably overcome problems of recording in a light breeze. The microphone is attached to a mounting system that is designed to cut out camera and it is questionable as to how long the rubber loops will last. However another reviewer has made the point that these can easily be replaced by inexpensive O-Rings and so this is not a problem. The microphone is relatively large and dwarfs my camcorder, but at least it’s not very heavy and so again not much of a problem, as long as you have a bag that it will fit into. Finally, the only real problem that I have had is to forget to switch it on. I would strongly recommend that once you start filming for the day switch it on and leave it on. The pp3 battery is supposed to last for more than 100hrs, and so the cost of doing this far outweighs the cost of losing valuable footage! Read more 9 people found this h

August 2024 Style Name: Replacement shear part Series 9 94M Verified Purchase I’ve had my Braun shaver for maybe 2 years now – I didn’t use it regularly in the first year, but use it now maybe 3 times a week. I have the one with the cleaning unit, and it’s excellent. I think you’re advised to change the head maybe once a year so, even though the shave it provided was still good, I thought it was about time. There were a lot of replacement heads on Gadget Tree, at various prices…but on closer inspection of the listings, many of the cheaper ones (while they look the same, and even have similar packaging) are not Braun originals. Some of the reviews of these other brands led me to decide to pay the extra and get the Braun replacement head. It’s a little more expensive, and I cannot vouch for whether the price difference is worth it – but I can say that the replacement head is excellent and did actually make a noticeable difference to the quality of the shave. I wish they were a bit cheaper, hence dropping one star – but they are very good products, and you know what you’re getting if you buy the “real thing”
