I did extensive research on telephoto options on a budget and the Sigma 150600 F56.3 C was recommended by many professionals. Prior to purchasing I had briefly rented the lens to get familiar with it and absolutely loved the results. I use it primarily for bird photography and find the 600mm range to give me enough reach to fill the frame with even the smaller sized backyard birds. I have been able to get really sharp photos of larger birds in flight. The optical stabilization works well. There is some degree of focus hunting especially while zoomed in on overcast days but the 2 focus limiter options on the lens can be used to improve focusing time. The build quality is solid and for the range, the lens has a good weight 4lbs. I am able to hand hold it and take photos of birds perched higher up and in flight. The tripod collar is sturdy but i wish the foot was longer to get a better balance when mounted on a tripod.

Im using the this lens with the MC11, and a Sony A7II. The lens performs surprisingly well with the older A7II. I am still able to track even smaller birds in flight, though many of the shots are not quite in focus. Again, this is more likely a limitation by the camera than the lens, based on my research. A native emount would track better like the Sony 200600mm but for 800 USD less, this lensadapter combo is a great way to get into nature photography. The lens is very sharp throughout the aperture range. Oh, and I was surprised to see that continuous autofocus works in video mode on the A7II

I have been using the Sigma 150600mm Contemporary Lens for the last year and a half and am pleased with the results. I have taken hundreds of photos with it. I am a long time outdoor photographer and have used the lens for a variety of wildlife shoots in all types of weather and lighting conditions. I use a heavy duty monopod when shooting on the go and a sturdy tripod when set up for stationary shooting. I have found it can be difficult to get quality photos from any telephoto lens without some type of support, whether the lens is the VR type or not. The lens is not as heavy as I expected and balances very well with my D750 and D500 cameras with battery grips attached. The tripod mount and collar works well for rotating the camera between portrait and landscape photos. The lens is very sharp with my cameras, better than expected after reading some of the online reviews. My shots of wildlife have been very sharp even when enlarged to wall sized portraits. The vibration reduction works very well and using the focus limiter brings rapid focus on most subjects without hunting for focus. I use the cameras autofocus point selection to aid in rapid focus with this lens and camera combinations. The focus has been very easy to override the few times I have needed it. Whether checking photos incamera or on my computer after downloading, the detail and sharpness has been extraordinary. I also use the Sigma 1.4x TC1401 Converter and its performance has been stellar.The autofocus speed remains the same with my cameras and the loss of sharpness nearly imperceptible. Even at extreme magnification the detail is outstanding. I could not be happier with the combination of lens and converter. If your camera supports F8 autofocus, I highly recommend this combination. Overall I believe most people will be happy with this lens. I feel it represents a tremendous value. The lens has been used in a variety of situations with great results. I have used it hand held and while it can be done, I still recommend using some type of support to take advantage of the optical quality this lens.

I bought this as an upgrade to the Sigma 100400mm f56.3, and its a worthy investment. The extra length can make the difference between an image thats possibly a little too distant to one thats worthy of cleanup, enjoyment and pride. The lens is pinsharp and autofocuses well, but its noticeably heavier than the 400 which still makes a great hiking lens you can handhold this lens when paired with a fast camera, but youll know about it afterwards. Theres a lot of winding to take this lens from 150 to 600, but that trades off in terms of being able to precisely select the crop. Highly recommended for this use case.

I purchased the Sigma 150600m lens in hope of using it to photograph the August 21 solar eclipse. Unfortunately, the weather in my area did not cooperate and missed the eclipse altogether. I am an amateur photographer so a purchase like this was a big commitment. However, while missing the eclipse was disappointing, this lens has been more that I could have asked for. After some research, I initially had decided on an equivalent Tamron lens, but made a last minute decision based on a few reviews to go with the Sigma very happy I did. The lens arrived with a very nice padded carrying case, case strap, a mounting ring for tripod shooting and the necessary caps. The lens feels solid and looks to be of very good build quality. I have been thrilled with the performance of this lens out of the box. The focus on the Sigma with my Nikon D750 has been quick and sharp and I have found the lens quite manageable for handheld shooting though it is heavy and provides quite a workout if using it for any length of time. In fact, all of the pictures in this review were shot handheld. The autofocus is fast, but for shooting birds in flight, it is not quite as fast as I would like, requiring some quick maneuvering to get the shot. However, with some experience on the lens and for all other action shots, I have been very impressed with the focus and resulting picture quality. Ive used the lens primarily in daylight settings and it really delivers. However, even in darker lighting or indoors I have been very pleased with the result. It has now been almost 3 months since I have had the lens and am surer than ever that I made the right decision in going with the Sigma. For the price, you wont be disappointed.

I have only been using the lens for a few weeks, but overall I am very satisfied with the lens, particularly for the price. The autofocus works well with my Nikon z6II with the FTZ adapter. I have not used it for a sporting event yet, but my impression is that the AF will struggle with fast moving subjects. Images are fairly sharp throughout the focal range. The build quality is also very good. image stabilization is good, but a tripod is still very much recommended. I would like to tru the Sport edition to see whether the AF improvements warrant the increased cost.

I get excellent images with this lens. My only complaint would be the weight. When I use it hand held, it gets a bit heavy. Yes, I get clean sharp images using it hand held. I only mount it on my tripod for working in the same spot getting shots of a nest on a cliff, for example for more than a few minutes. Its a very good lens and the price is reasonable.

First off, I have no other similar lens with which to compare this too. I use it on a fullframe Canon 6d and after adjusting the microfocus get very acceptably sharp images at 600mm, which reviews suggest is on the soft side. Autofocus works a treat, although I havent tried it with moving wildlife not the 6ds strong point, to say the least. The only negative is the length of the foot on the tripod mount. It is too short to correctly balance lens and camera body. In the end, I purchased a 6 Kirk plate and it is permanently bolted to the tripodfoot of the lens. I certainly do not regret this purchase.

I have been reading and watching reviews of the Sigma 150600 f56.3 Contemporary lens for some time so when I found it at BH on sale, I went for it. BH handled my order quickly and it arrived within a few days. I couldnt wait to try it out and it has far surpassed my expectations. The quick pictures I took came out just great and now I am ready to photograph the eagles when they come to feed. I knew I could always count on BH for great products at good prices.

Had a Canon 70300 which was showing signs of aberration and couldnt justify price of Canon 100400 which I normally hire for safari use. Fstop aside I went for this as it ticked all boxes and then some. Tried it out and was instantly impressed when mated to my Canon EOS 6D. Then tried 1.4 converter too and apart from MF, all good. Then I tired lenslens with converter on my 700D and WOW Equivalent of 1300mm approx at top end I think and image quality on all combos is astounding. Heavy admittedly but have purchased the Peak Sling which works great with this lens.
