I got this probably a week ago now and its a amazing just like I knew it would be. I have had every pulse leading up until this one and I wasnt sure if I was going to get this because I want the party box but I seen it in Walmart the other day and couldnt resist. I have to say if you look at the pulse 1 to this you will be amazed. I loved the pulse 1 and then the 2 came out and I was blown away and didnt think the pulse series could get any better. Man was my belief wrong when I got my hands on the pulse 3 it was revolutionary Ive never seen a speaker like it and thats why I knew I had to get the pulse 4. The pulse 4 offer incredible sound, and it has a long battery life which I enjoy because Im constantly forgetting to charge my speakers, good thing I have several JBL speakers lol. Ive only had the pulse 4 for about a week like I said but its already my favorite, the colors and lights on this device really are a game changer. Put this in the middle of a dim party and its really a dance show now. It pound enough for your house parties and chill enough to play while making dinner at night. I bought this speaker for university next year and I couldnt be happier with it. Excellent display of lights and excellent sound quality. Everyone said not to get it because of the mono speaker but since Ive got it, it sounds better than their dual driver speakers. This speaker hasnt got many features to show, but Ive never used voice assistance nor do I need a 3.5mm Jack, so if you just need sound quality and a fantastic atmosphere, this speaker is perfect.

This bad boy really packs a punch and the cool LED features take it up a notch for setting the vibe wherever you are. I like how you can use an app to change the color of the lights and also to connect to other Party Boost capable speakers. It sounds crisp on the highs and the lows are subtle but add atmosphere to the sound. Overall pleased with the looks and sound of this speaker. Great job JBL another fantastic speaker

I love the way you can change the colors and patterns with the JBL app. The battery life is insane and the quality of music is amazing. I take it to the beach often and the colors are vibrant. Even with sand particles, the glass is still intact and not scratched up. Love it Also pairs really quick.

I got this product 4 weeks ago and it is overall a good speaker. The sound is really good and the lights look fab in the dark. We have used it with the kids having a little disco and they loved it. We have also used it with friends during a games night and they also commented on how great it looks and sounds. I only have 3 negatives. 1 is that is says its waterproof but it isnt. I put it at the side of the shower and it got a little wet and it distorted the sound. It did work however once dried out. 2 is that when you turn the volume up using the buttons on the device it is great but if you have an Apple device and you swipe up the volume from quite low to high it doesnt cope and the sound becomes distorted for a second or so. The 3rd thing is it is quite heavy. We like to have speakers that are portable and this one to carry around takes up a lot of weight and space. The app was free to download but I didnt really use it. Its very easy to set up and use. Overall we like it but I dont think it is worth 200.

The JBL Pulse 4 is a very reliable portable speaker It boasts a tremendous amount of bold sound and bass, and the customizable lights are a very nice addition. The option to sync with other compatible speakers is amazing and makes the experience better The battery life is a good 12 hrs as advertised.

Ive been wanting one of these for a while and set some coin aside for it… 3 days into owning it, fell down 23 feet on to hard floor and the weight of the internal parts dented the top speaker outwards from the inside. It still turns on but has terrible sound feedback now. Really bad luck and the drop is my fault, but pretty disappointed its a dud so soon and crapped out so easily.While it worked it was awesome, though. Cant justify buying another one at that price, I bought it with durability in mind for camping and it didnt even make it out of my apartment haha.

Recently purchased the JBL Pulse and was pleasantly surprised. I thought the changeable light show was just a gimmick and was purely looking for a big sound from a Bluetooth speaker.Wow was I surprised Not only does the speaker deliver a larger than life sound with a decent level of bass but dim the lights and you have a full on light show to match your music. This first came on my radar by YouTuber Flossy Carter who had an early review on his YouTube page. Once I saw it I was hooked. I had never seen any earlier iteration of the Pulse series and I am fortunate enough to have made this one my first. This speaker looks amazing on or off. Just looking at it turned off exudes cool…then you turn it on. Oh my goodness, it looks slick and the sound is big and loud. For its size, it sounds great better in every way over my other SoundLink mini 1 2 Bluetooth speakers from Bose. I cant speak to having PartyBoost over the older linking system because this is my first JBL speakers but I dont think it will be my last. I have already demod it for a friend who is ordering one now too. Overall, super pleased with this new speaker. Great job, JBL

Great glass feel lava lamp look speaker. Looks good regardless it being on or off. Feels weighty and robust with 360 light view. With IP7 rating it is both an in and outdoor speaker. Easy to use app which allows for customization different light modes. Comes with the latest USB C port and charging cable but this is only for charging and does not accommodate for devices like mp3 players and mobile phones to directly connect. The other drawback is that it doesnt have the jack port so everything has to be connected by Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connectivity is seamless and has a very good range. The sound is clean and has good Bass but it is always better to keep it stood up otherwise sound quality decreases in quality. Like the Party Boost option which allows for connecting other pulse 4 speakers to create that surround sound atmosphere. Volume control from the speaker is visualized by the lights going up or down when adjusted. Found the light show tends to drain the much battery quicker so better to use it without the lights if there is no availability of charging. The lit mode wasnt much good in sunlight as well. But when indoors it takes you to another dimension and it is quite mesmerizing so, no need for disco lights. If I had to make any improvements, I would add voice activation like Alexa or Google Assist.

I gave my Daughter the original JBL Pulse and it was amazing back then, fast foward to 2021 and she had a good run of years with the original. I purchased the new JBL Pulse 4 and it takes everything to a whole new level lights are dazzingly beautiful wrapped around the entire unit that is bigger and brighter. The sound was rich with good bass and room filling. These words are from Daughter who owned the original for several years. The price from eBay was excellent

This Bluetooth speaker is simply amazing from the lights to the 360 degree sound I have never used a Bluetooth speaker of higher quality or beauty. The passive bass radiator provides a deep rich sound, and the many lights options keep the party going. The battery life has been amazing even with the lights and heavy use and the usb type c makes charging easier than ever. The build quality feels top notch I wouldnt be afraid to drop this speaker and the water resistance adds even extra security. I cannot recommend this speaker enough nothing else to even compares.

This review was collected as part of a promotion. Let me just say that the JBL Pulse 4 speakers are very fun and unique speakers. I would say that If you want to have a speaker that is fun for the house parties, dorm, bbqs, camping. The Pulse 4 is perfectly adequate. 1. The sound comes from the top and the base from the bottom. I would say that the sound is relatively loud. Their sound is a little richer and defined. Unless you have walls and ceilings for the sound to bounce off of, the sound projects upward and is lost outdoors a little more. This was of course to accommodate the visually impressive light show. 2. The lighting is awesome and entertaining. I would say that these speakers are semiportable. There is no handle to carry them and the polycarbonate shell is definitely fingerprint prone, Plus for smaller hands, it may be a little hard to carry. It can be slippery. So if camping, for example, you should invest in an aftermarket case. 3. The JBL Connect app. It is terrible and buggy. I have spent hours trying to connect the units with my phone or together in stereo. Sometimes it works sometimes it wont recognize the app. It does go into Party Mode easily by pressing the PartyBoost button on the unit same sound out of both speakerslouder, but I find trying to get stereo mode LR separation is near impossible. 4. The speakers are using an older Bluetooth Codec. not the newer AptX HD for example. So they are not for watching videos. The sync will be off. The newer codex allows a higher bitstream I gather, so more fidelity and a more defined sound. 5. Minor, but there is no AUX connector either. 6.They are for a person who likes the visual party vibe. They are a really good speaker, with good loud clear sound. There are better sounding ones for the money out there but you need to know how it will suit your lifestyle. I just wanted to point out some of the limitations that would make this a truly awesome speaker

This speaker is gorgeous for one and the sound quality is amazing for it to be so small. Everyone who Ive showed it to are amazed and now wants one too lol. As soon as I opened and felt the weight I knew it was quality, this is not a little flimsy speaker and is worth the price. I may even buy another one. For reference Im a techy person who had 12 inch subs in their trunk in highschool. I grew up with Sony boom boxes and radios. So yea I know sound and the bass dept are great also. Cant wait to buy more JBL speakers.

I bought this as a gif for my wifes birthday, which still is in 2 weeks from now and as soon as it got to the house I wanted to hook it up and make sure she was going to like it. I use Bluetooth speakers everyday at work for the past 6 years so Ive seen a few of them. This, without the light show, blew me away with the quality of output and how loud it actually got. I recently bought this speaker after the pulse 3 I had for a few years was damaged. So far I really like it and it the sound quality is very impressive. It is a bit more directional than the 3 so its better in a room, but the vocals and higher pitches are superb and the bass literally shakes the table. Only other caviot is that you basically have to accept that you will get finger prints on the acrylic. Theres no other safe way to carry it without a case or something.

This is my first real speaker and Im happy with it. Ive seen a lot of YouTube videos about the Pulse 4 and it was something I wanted to get for myself for a long time. The shipping was accurate and the packaging for the Pulse 4 is impressive. Kudos to the makers. Ive listened to some songs from different genres and the sound on the Pulse 4 is really good, clear, and loud even with the volume around the halfway mark. It is prone to fingerprints but I knew this ahead of time so Im fine with it. Its also a little heavy and bulky but not a deal breaker for me. The lights on the speaker are very cool. Its one of the main reasons why I wanted the Pulse 4. I think its pretty unique. I know some people mightve had some issues with the JBL Connect app but I havent had any. I think its a cool feature to manually choose the colors youd like for the speaker. I personally dont think its worth 249.95 even though its a really good quality speaker and from a great brand. Overall, Im very happy with the Pulse 4.

First off, I am a big fan of JBL products and I was very happy to receive this item to review. I made the switch from other big brand audio names some time ago and JBL continues to impress me. The Pulse 4 is comparable to the Charge series. This is a relatively small speaker that packs a great sound. The sounds is great but the JBL Charge has a bit deeper base and clarity. However, this speaker offers a pretty wild light show that serves as a nightlight or a fun experience when listening to your music. The battery life is great and it charges up pretty quick. There are several modes for the light show including a customizable feature. It works well with the JBL Connect app and links well with other compatible JBL devices to create a wireless sound system throughout the house. Although I did receive this as part of a product review, I have to say the price is very reasonable for the sound it delivers and the lighting functions. If you are looking for a small compact speaker that adds an element of fun to the room, this is a great choice. It is not waterproof like the Charge series and it is a bit heavy. However, it is wellbuilt and sounds great. It is glass so I would be careful where you put it

The sound quality on this is speaker is amazing The soundmusic fills the entire room. The light show is great. When I took a shower, I brought this speaker in with me and turned off the lights in order to test the light show and was not disappointed. It was dark enough to enjoy the lights but bright enough to see what I was doing. 12 hour battery is pretty good as well.

First let me say the sound quality on the Pulse 4 is overall a massive improvement from the previous generation of pulse speakers which always seemed to sacrifice audio quality in order to provide the lighting effects that make this speaker so unique. However, this is no longer the case and the pulse 4 I can safely say is one of the best sounding JBL speakers and one of the best bluetooth speakers in general I have ever owned. I was so impressed by the speakers I decided to purchase 2 which look and sound incredible when synched up. I really cannot reccomend them enough and given I picked these up for 149 each, you really cannot beat the price to performance value offered here.

We used to have the JBL charge 2. My husband left it on the hood of his work truck right at the windshield and he drove off and it was never to be seen again. I dont get upset about much but that one really got to me That was the best speaker we have ever had. We were reluctant to get the pulse 4 simply because of the price. But we bit the bullet. Its a great speaker with great sound quality but the battery life is terrible. Even when we turn off the light show, it dies quickly. The JBL charge 2 still had great battery life being 5 years old. It held up so great Wish I had it back. Someone out there probably found it and is enjoying the heck out of it.

This is by far one of the loudest and most affordable brands of speakers Ive come across. The bass is as loud as if you were in a club do the volume is definitely a plus because the rage and distance you can still hear the music playing and most importantly some are waterproof so they can be used while showering or bathing without any serious issues happening to the speaker. Definitely in my top brands to shop with as far as speakers go.

Wow this is definitely my favourite speaker by far. Not only does it sound Amazing Nice crisp clear sound but it looks amazing too with its light shows. Its made of glass but dont let that put you off as its a really tough little speaker. Its also waterproof so you can take it to the beach with you or even use it in the shower with no worries. One of my favourite things about it is you can even get an app on your phone where you can customise the colour scheme for the light shows. If you have more than one of these speakers you can put it in a party setting and play music on all of them.

Im so glad I have bought this speaker just for the sound alone but also because of the cool 360 LED feature. The speaker overall is fantastic however I do think that the app to control the LED color and patterns can use a bit of an update. I have a handful of improvements I have thought of when it comes to setting the color or patterns. As this is a new product I have high hopes for what the future will hold with this product and also the Jbl app to control it. Overall I am loving this speaker and the sound and LED lights.

Very nice sound and best quality forever After reading a handful of reviews that were based on people upset about emotional aspects of the speaker… ie it wont connect to their flip 4 speakers. Whatever. I looked past that and am glad I went with the 5. The sound quality is superb. The bass response is indeed superior to the 4 as well as the battery life. At the same price point of 100 dollars its a no brainer. The Flip 5 is a superior model in all aspects. This speaker far, far exceeded my expectations. This speaker is stupid loud and crisp at that. I work in an automotive shop and I keep my volume at 25 in my station. Phenomenal sound, phenomenal quality, could not be happier. I highly recommend.

The pulse 4 is the first light up speaker from JBL that has a high quality designfinish that will stand the test of time. The pulse 4 also connects with the JBL app which lets you further customize its 4 prebuilt light setting almost how we you wish, this kind of connectivity and customization is a really nice touch. Unfortunately as a great a speaker as it is I bough it hoping it would connect with my charge 4, unfortunately that is not the case, JBL seems to have launched yet another multi speaker connect system that isnt compatible with over half the speakers they have on the market this is extremely unfortunate as Im returning mine for a refund because of this. Also the glass or ploy, whatever the shroud the protects the lights is made of smudges very easily and could be hard to keep clean if multiple people are constantly touching the speaker which they probably will based on how cool and professional it looks

I bought this speaker primarily for the light display which I am happy with. Doing some research I see that people are disappointed with the unit only having Bluetooth 4.2, its even advertised as such. If you download the JBL app it will allow you to update the speaker to the newest firmware which has the newer Bluetooth 5.1 Light synchronisation to your music is also updated. JBL need to start telling people about the update lol

I really wanted to hate this speaker as I always felt the pulse series was more about looks than sound quality. However after a few days of use I have changed my mind and this one sounds really good compared to prior pulse speakers. For this review I will be mainly comparing the pulse 4 to the charge 3. Sound quality on the pulse 4 is great but it could be a little better, it has good highs, and decent lows, but I feel like the mids are muted. I noticed with the pulse 4 if you push it to close to wall it doesnt sound good. The optimal place i found for this speaker is more in the middle of a room that has a roof or covering. The 360 sound will fill the room and is plenty loud for a party. However outside with the top of the speaker facing the sky no ceiling or cover to reflect the sound the pulse 4 sounded good but but not as wonderful as it did in my kitchen. During the daylight the color LEDs get washed out and are sorta pointless to use, there is a button on the top to disable the LEDs which helps save power. At night time the LEDs are very nice and soothing, I cant wait to use this during summer evenings with friends. The Pulse 4 is very heavy in a good way and seems very well builtdurable. I bought a pair of JBL Pulse 4 a few days ago because I wanted to use them with PartyBoost with my computer.Sadly I returned them today because of their poor build quality for the price. There was fingerprint marks on the inside of the plastics on both speakers right out of the boxOne of the speakers also had many small scratches which was very visible immediately when I opened the box so I dont know how that made it trough the quality control.The speakers sound decent for their price point.

The speaker outputs a significant volume of sound considering its size and the space taken up by the external glass and such. Its especially great for indoors providing 360 degree sound making it a great alternative for stereo speakers. This is a great speaker I love the special effects and so that you can change the the way the lights dance on it. I will say that the battery does not last long. It seems like I always have to plug it in, which defeats the purpose of having a cordless speaker. If doesnt seem to hold a charge very well. The sound on it is great, and the bass on it is fabulous.

I bought it for my daughter as a gift and she takes it EVERYWHERE. Its really, really LOUD and sounds very clear. Youd be surprised to hear how nice it picks up bass and how clear the mid frequencies are. Highs are crisp.. a bit pricey but it is JBL. Im a long time client.

The speaker itself is pretty great. Im disappointed theres no 3.5mm jack, seems like a pretty unnecessary omission considering its already a sizable and heavy speaker, but it sounds and looks fantastic. The app, however, is barely functional most of the time and really drags it down. I have two of these speakers, to use in stereo, but the app makes it difficult to use most of the time, requiring me to turn onoff the speakers, turn onoff the party mode, disconnectingreconnecting it to bluetooth, etc multiple times until it eventually correctly recognizes the speakers. If the app was more stable and worked more consistently id have given 5 stars, but the difficulty just to get them to play makes it much harder for me to recommend, especially as a pair. As a single its not nearly as bad, since you dont need to use the app to play music. If the app was updatedfixed id give it 5 stars.

I bought this a week ago and its pretty cool. I felt kind of silly to spend so much money on a shiney new toy, but Harman customer service was nice and made it easier.The speaker itself is good not great quality, sound wise. Im not too, too into the bass, and Ive mostly been listening to it on low volume, so make of that what you will. But I got it for the lights, to be honest, and the thing is cool. I love hanging out in warm summer nights with housemates with this, or showering in the dark with it. I cant imagine anybody grabbing it in their hands like in the photos, though. Its also like 2.5lbs and Im nervous to touch the fiberglass.One thing worth remarking is that Ive had a lot of problems with JBL chargers, but the Pulse comes with a microUSB charger, which seems to work a lot better. I dont think the same issues Ive seen before will be a problem.. The thing also has a great battery life and charges quick, so thats a plus.I think maybe the light settings could have a little more to them As it stands now, you pretty much have the choice between 4 decently cool presets with a somewhat limited color palette or a custom setting which is just.. a lot. I guess I do notice the lights do move to the music but I wish certain settings like the wave one could go slower for slower music. Thatd be really cool and easier to watch, more like a lava lamp than a psychedelic trip type thing.But ya, try it out. They have nice free fast shipping or at least they did when I bought it and it seems like you can return it for a while. Bug em enough you might even get a discount

It even looks great when its off. I definitely recommend the JBL charge 4 if youre looking for a speaker to leave out where everyone can see it Wherever you put it, make sure the top firing speaker is open to the ceiling the music echoes off the ceiling and does a great job filling the room. However, if something is above it like a shelf it sounds dead and muted. My biggest concern with the speaker is its durability. The outside is a hard plastic. I worry it could get scratched or even crack if dropped. Also, the USBC changing port is exposed without any protection. The IPX7 waterproof rating lets me confidently bring the speaker to a pool party. But I wouldnt take the speaker hiking or to a sandy beach. To be clear, the build quality is great But this speaker is best suited to the great indoors.

Let me just say that the JBL Pulse 4 speakers are very fun and unique speakers. I would say that If you want to have a speaker that is fun for the house parties, dorm, bbqs, picknicks, camping. The Pulse 4 is perfectly adequate albeit expensive for what it offers. So, I purchased two speakers to have the full stereo experience It claims to be able to provide. Points that I would like to make1. The sound comes from the top and the base from the bottom. I would say that the sound is relatively loud. Especially when the two are paired in Partyboost mode 2x speakers, It doesnt give you that defined directional feel that many of the other 360 speakers provide though. I have heard the sound of some other higherend type Bluetooth speakers. Their sound is a little richer and defined. Unless you have walls and ceilings for the sound to bounce off of, the sound projects upward and is lost outdoors a little more. This was of course to accommodate the visually impressive light show.2. The lighting is awesome and entertaining. I would say that these speakers are semiportable. There is no handle to carry them and the polycarbonate shell is definitely fingerprint prone, and can easily scratch if not protected. Plus for smaller hands, it may be a little hard to carry. It can be slippery. So if camping, for example, you should invest in an aftermarket case.3. The JBL Connect app. It is terrible and buggy. I have spent hours trying to connect the units with my phone or together in stereo. Sometimes it works sometimes it wont recognize the app. It does go into Party Mode easily by pressing the PartyBoost button on the unit same sound out of both speakerslouder, but I find trying to get stereo mode LR separation is near impossible. If any suggestion to JBL is to clean up this app. To pair these speakers especially in Stereo mode is like doing the HokeyPokey….Do this step, then that step and hope it connects, if not start all over again. During a party or get together thats not what you want to be doing. JBL hardware is outstanding software…please do better.4. The speakers are using an older Bluetooth Codec. not the newer AptX HD for example. So they are not for watching videos. The sync will be off. The newer codex allows a higher bitstream I gather, so more fidelity and a more defined sound.5. Minor, but there is no AUX connector either.6. Also note, The Party Boost mode is not backward compatible with the JBL Connect and The JBL Connect systems. Only with like Party Boost systems. It is supposed to have better connectivity between two like units.These speakers are really fun and a conversation starter. They are for a person who likes the visual party vibe. They are a really good speaker, with good loud clear sound. There are better sounding ones for the money out there but you need to know how it will suit your lifestyle.I just wanted to point out some of the limitations that would make this a truly awesome speakers. These are fun People are envious, but I digress. Based upon size and touch factor these are number one yet there is so much room for improvement. So how demanding are you and do you want to live in the hear and now It can be loud but certainly not audiophile. Connecting two is a bit tricky but works unlike my experience with connect 4 which did not work out and is the major problem with JBL but they seem not to care. If you not mind its limited value it would be grand at a full moon party.

And I toke a real bad fall while skating and landed on the side it was on. It only a like 2 scuff marks that just wiped off. Definitely a good buy.

It was similar to this one with the lights and shape of the speaker. However, the sound was released more evenly 360 degrees. Dont try this at home unless you need to USB C finally.Now lets talk about the negative and theres a few here. We lost the 3.5mm aux in support from the pulse 3. Still the same bluetooth capability as the pulse 3. I would have expected the new 5.1 on this entry from JBL in 2019. No speakerphone support. this feature has been stripped from the pulse 4. Say goodbye to your smart home support. Bass is slightly less than the Pulse 3 and its noticeable too, if you have owned the pulse 3. No wall socket plug included. This only comes with the cable Plug not sold separately It seems JBL expect everyone uses USB wall connectors these days. Very disappointing.My verdictThis is a great entry in the pulse line from JBL but seems like a small update rather than a huge reinvention of the already fantastic pulse speaker. If you look at the upgrade from the Pulse 2 to the Pulse 3 you will see a huge creative new take on the speaker, the change from 3 to 4 Not so much. It feels heavy and of good JBL quality which you come to expect. Its a unique speaker with a light show which is simply beautiful. Ive had this speaker for a short time but have been using it nonstop at work. I work in a warehouse secondshift. The speaker is loud and maintains sound quality, and clarity when on high volume. The battery life when on full volume and playing nonstop has lasted me about 10 hours… give or take an hour. Personally my favourite feature about this speaker is the lights the lights are in perfect sync with the sound coming from the speaker and I really like the fact you can change the colour and display of the lights on the speaker through the JBL app. The sound quality from the speaker is amazing too, it is clear and can be very loud. Even the older modelversion Pulse 3 is louder then the new version that I purchase Pulse 4.I was so looking forward to be showing off my light show and utilizing that feature but I require louder bass then colorful lights. The name and quality of speaker device I understand but you buy a speaker for the sounds and not really for the name or style of device.Please make Pulse 5 as loud as your Boombox 2 or Flip 5, which ever is louder. While it isnt necessarily my favorite JBL speaker, the light show does add a neat aspect to it, depending on what you want from your speaker. As I have come to expect from JBL, the sound quality and overall feel of the speaker are excellent. The audio is crisp at all levels and able to achieve plenty of sound for my needs. The separate subwoofer does add a decent amount of bass while enjoying louder volumes, but never overpowering. The single speaker on top has excellent sound, but does suffer a bit from being a single speaker. I was unable to try 2 Pulse speakers together in stereo mode, but I would image the result created would really enhance the experience. As others have mentioned, when using the speaker in an open space, some of the overall sound is lost since the speaker points upward, but when used in a houseroom, it does a very nice job filling the entire room with sound. My main comparison is with the JBL Flip 4 speaker, which I feel has a little nicer balance of sound, but I certainly cannot complain about the quality achieved with the Pulse 4. My currently JBL portable speaker lineup includes a Clip 3, Flip 4 and Pulse 4 and honestly each speaker has its place and best use. Whether youre looking for a party enhancer or background music around the house that entrances the kids, you cant go wrong with a Pulse 4.

I bought one JBL Pulse 4 last Christmas and fell inlove with it. Earlier this month i bought another one Placing them left and right on my big TV, turned off the light and watch movies youll have no problem home quarantined for a couple more months. Just one thing I noticed lately, is that when I connected this to my desktop there seems to be some crackling sound poping up. I was pretty sure its a software problem because they worked perfectly with my TV or laptop phone. Will try to contact the customer service.Overall will definitely recommend this piece of nice art

This speaker is definitely different from others I have purchased before. The biggest draw is the lights show. It is the best feature of this speaker and will be the only reason you choose this speaker over others in the price range. The sound is good but not as good as others in the price range. Sound comes out of the top and the best place to play it is indoors as this setup allows the sound to bounce off the ceiling. This speaker is definitely not for outdoor use. The weight of the speaker is much heavier than other speakers, and the acrylic outer shell is not gonna be the most durable if you drop it. Also because of the top firing speaker not having a ceiling outdoors will make sure that the volume will be diminished. I would definitely recommend if you plan to use it only indoors. But if you want an outdoor speaker I would tell you look elsewhere. Also I would recommend waiting for a sale like I did as the sound quality doesnt warrant full retail price.

This review was collected as part of a promotion. Summary I got this in the mail and the first thing I noticed was the sheer girth, this guy is thick. And should be so because of that 7,260 mAh battery lodged in there with space for the passive radiator, but that thickness is mainly due to the thickened plastic to protect the internals. The reason for the durability is quite obvious, the plastic surrounding the entire thing. Indeed is feels like a rock solid device, but the fact that plastic is plastic, and plastic can crack and scratch. But I do not foresee it doing that if you take care of it. Audio The highs are well and pronounced, as well as the bass in enhanced slightly from my perspective to give it that umph. I will say, the treble is something to be desired, its that middle range that suffers the most. The highs have to pick up most of the work, voices are fine and stringed instruments. But anything that requires a mid range sound, its lost to the highs and lows. The 360 degree nature is also nothing to scoff at, I was walking around my kitchen trying to pick out anything wrong or any weird distortions. I couldnt pick up anything. Its great for the middle of the room, but I found it sounds very weird pushed against a wall, Id say at least a foot or two of distance. What Im not saying is that this sounds awful in the slightest. Instead, I find this as the only bad thing. I was genuinely blown away at the great quality of said audio. There are some ares that I would like improved, but for what it offers, I cannot complain. Light show Lets be real, if youre buying this, youre buying it for the show. I will say it doesnt disappoint either. There are four basic modes out of the box thanks to the button on the top. The one people will use most is the Visualizer, or the one that shows whats playing. And that does a very accurate job of representing the sound that is being played at the time. The camp fire is my other personal favorite and tries to best represent a fire, but falls short due to a fires unpredictability. But its awesome nonetheless and would choose either without problem. Over all this thing is awesome. I would recommend this to anyone looking for good audio quality and an awesome light show all in one package.

I have had this item for 2 weeks and I am shocked that it has just stopped working. I cant see any lights even on charge. I have done no damage to the speaker it just switched off. I am even more disappointed that upon contacting jbl they do not offer a replacement speaker only a refund. And because I bought the speaker on sale if I was to replace it it would cost me more money than the refund. Disgusting customer service and terrible product.

However It is a little difficult when you are trying to pair two speaker to do the RT and LT speaker option…But overall it has great sounds and beautiful lighting effects. I like that it has the ipx7 rating because I like all of my valuable electronics to be waterproof, just in case. I also like the buttons on the top that are easy to find to make any playing adjustments. It provides plenty of sound for any room, while still able to be heard well outside. So basically, the highs are great at ANY volume, the mids are best at any point under 70, and the lows are best between like 30 and 70. A really important point is that there isnt any distortion. The colors are really great and help light up the room. Being able to change the colors and affects with the connect app is really nice. I know it has the party boost where it can link with other party boost devices but this is the only part boost I currently own.

I love the speakers, the sound quality is tremendous, and they work well while synched as I had hoped. My only complaint is that when connected to my Fangor projector there is no sound. Its not an issue of not connecting and there is no issue with other devices on either side. But without technical support available during Covid19 I had to come up with a workaround on the spot during a presentation that was unpredictable and unfortunate. I still have no solution for that problem and it was the same for both speakers.

Have purchased one of these speakers, the first ones glass was smudgy and scratched from the inside which wasnt too apparent but it bugged me a lot so I went back to the store and had it exchanged. Even the second one now is a little smudgy and has a few tiny scratches but this time its fine, and I am lazy to return it again.Secondly, I miss more customization options from the app. I want to see more presets, and I want to setup my own colors for them. Lets say I want the waves lightshow with pink, purple and turquoise. Or only 2 colors. This is not possible, only 1 color choice is possible. I feel like the program kinda overrides my color choice also according to the preset, I would like a more precise custom setup for all of the presets.All in all I think its a brilliant design, with a decent sound. The presets are also nice but I really miss some finetuning option given to the customer. Secondly, pay attention to the assembly process, dont ruin the beauty of the acrylic shell.

My partner bought this speaker for me for my birthday. It is absolutely worth every penny. The light show is stunning, and the design of the speaker really elevates that. I downloaded the jbl connect app, and it lets you modify the colors of the light shows. Which is really nice. The bass is incredible. It shakes the table at times. Which surprised me because of the size of this speaker. It really adds to the speaker that the LEDs seem to coordinate with the bass giving a stunning display. The highs are nice. Not exactly immaculate if youre an audiophile, but REALLY good for a portable speaker. Which, this speaker is easy to take with you. In a purse or a backpack. I think that anyone could, and will, enjoy this speaker. Ive already recommended my friends and family get one.

This speaker is great for bringing some life to a living area. When the sun has gone down, turn off the lights and just see how this speaker can illuminate the entire room even just at halfbrightness Also, when people say this speaker has good sound for its size and the fact that it focuses on its light display, the sound blew me away. I havent found a reason to go over half volume at this point, besides testing its ability to perform at high volumes. The sound and bass are great, and the visual piece of the pulse 4 is much better then the older versions. I got this speaker a while ago now I think it was about 6 months ago. I like how there are lights on it and stuff but its not really a good speaker for portable and on the go. This would be because the speaker to see the lights is made out of plastic which can easily get scratched or cracked. This is what scares me every time I take the thing with me outside or to a place with me in my bag. Im always constantly worrying about it because it costs so much money. The bass on it is good and so is the 360 sound but it just doesnt sound as good anymore compared to all the new speakers and its only a 20 watt speaker and its 330 which is a lot of money. I really liked this speaker at the start but now I dont even use it because I dont want to accidentally break it or scratch it. This speaker is good with the lights and all but youve always constantly got to be really I feel cautious on where you are putting it. I was walking out my patio door one day when I accidentally hit the speaker into the door and it cracked the black plastic stand on the bottom of it and it was only a light hit and the door is made out of wood that isnt that strong so it surprised me when it cracked like that on the black stands. This is why I havent really wanted to use it as much since. There should be some protective part on the speaker that you can put onto it if you are going to take it somewhere.

Paired with 1 device at a time to play, you can connect the speaker to 2 devices but it will bump the other device once you hit play on one. The speaker volume indicator uses the light as indicator which I like a lot and no sound extortion all the way up. The extension of light to the whole speaker does make this looked very lava lamp in look. The Bluetooth being at 4.2 does have some impact on the range but for a 4.2 device its very good in transmitting through distance.

Having owned the JBL flip 4. I figured that the newer JBL speaker would sound better or at least the same as the previous speaker I owned. I dont understand why JBL has gone with a mono speaker as opposed to stereo speakers. The sound was alright, and the lighting effects were pretty cool. Be prepared to spend a lot of time cleaning the speaker because the outside is covered with some kind of plastic or glass that gets smudges on it easily. For the sound quality I felt that the speaker was overpriced.

Overall this is a great speaker with great sound. It is a little on the expensive side but it is built really well for a bluetooth speaker. I just wish the RGB software was a little more customizable and user friendly. A good speaker a tad too pricey.

I bought the speaker in May and used it every day over the summer. it was great at first but started breaking easily. The buttons ended up falling off and I could not press them anymore and the speaker scratches very easily. after only a few weeks of using it there were scratches covering the whole it. The more I used it the more I noticed the sound getting quieter and quieter. after about four months the speaker wouldnt even turn on anymore. I unfortunately could not use my warranty to buy a new one because I had thrown out the box and the receipt. I talked to a representative for hours but couldnt figure out anyway to prove when I bought it. I loved the speaker while it lasted and want to buy a new one but I hate the fact that i have a warranty and cant even use it

I love this thing. Its motion lights are cool and the app is awesome to change the light settings to my mood. The sound quality is great and its perfect for the home work out or back yard BBQ. I have tried other portable speakers but none beat the quality of this one.

Very happy with the JBL Pulse 4.Easy to setup, excellent base and the lighting is perfect for those party nights. Premium design premium sound. Hook it up to the JBL app on android or apple and you can control the lights and sound which i think is a really cool feature.I can highly recommend this to anyone thats looking for a high quality bluetooth speaker. JBL have really stepped up their game and are definitely producing some high quality products. I have owned Sonos and Bose products in the past but i have to say this JBL product is a lot better and cheaper then some of those big name brands. JBL Pulse 4 great product

I was a bit disappointed in the size and weight. I didnt see one of these in person just ordered from online. Compared to my original JBL Pulse it is much larger and quite a bit heavier. The smooth glasslike sides make it difficult to pick up one handed which is part of the portability factor. Could have been better designed. Sound is very good. Lighting is entertaining.

It gets loud and I dont have to turn my volume up all the way. The sound is awesome and the bass is strong. I love the lighting feature, using the app helps out a lot with choosing a light pattern and color. I use it daily and the battery holds a good charge. Would buy a 2nd speaker just so I could pair them together.

When this arrived in its box I was very impressed with the packaging, so well packed and designed . Then I took it out. Its pretty heavy and the glass is very tactile.Being eager to try it out I placed it on the wooden sideboard and switched it on and blue tooth linked it to my phone. And it was simple . Im a bit of a technophobe so that was a big plus.The whole thing lit up and pulsed with different colours as it played my music giving a almost surround sound effect. I thought it was very good and set it to charge.A friend who is a musician came for the weekend and he put the app on his phone. It mostly worked and you could find different visual features he liked the graphic equalizer affect, but it was a bit sticky and unresponsive at times .We also moved it from the wooden sideboard to my slate fireplace mantel and boy did that make a difference to the sound. vast improvement on an already good sound.More bass and greater definition.Im going to carry on testing this as Im hoping to go camping in a week or so and this would be great for whilst we are sat round the firepit.I want to play with the App more but I think it needs tweaking and this seems to bea common comment.So far I really like it. I love the design, very sleek smoked glass and very tactile and exensive looking. It is performing its function well
