Bought 5. One failed within a few days with read errors and I was not able to reformat. On its way back to Sandisk under warranty. Sandisk return process is a bit cumbersome but seems to work. Sleek design is interesting, but actually the slick metal housing and lack of any real grip area makes removal difficult at times. Adding a lanyard helps although not supplied with drive . Definitely runs very hot during use. The metal housing makes it even worse. Heat extra power consumption so Im not sure if this will significantly impact battery life in portables. Housing shows signs of insertionremoval scratches with just a few days use. Runs fast and happy with performance. Time will tell if the heat impacts life any way.

Bought this drive as a replacement for another aluminium drive which got damaged. Drive still works but the aluminium started tearing on the top where the open hole is. I am a bit worried this will happen to this drive as well, sooner or later.Of course, generally speaking, an aluminium drive is more rigid than a plastic one which makes these drives great for carrying around i.e. on your key chain.What Ive noticed is the drive runs very hot during transfers. Luckily the aluminium helps dissipate the heat better than other materials but still… it gets pretty hotThanks to the USB 3.0 interface you can get fast data transfers.Although mine doesnt seem to be lightning fast. A 2 GB file took about a minute and a half at a rate of about 1517MBs. Same speed for smaller files i.e. pictures.Not bad but no world records there. And this was on a USB 3.1 port.The price is good. Ive bought the 64GB model as I dont really need more. I only use it occasionally for taking files with me on the go.The drive comes with free SanDisk Secure Access software. With this, you can store your files safely in a vault. In case you lose it, no one will be able to access your files. It encrypts your data with 128 bit.Make sure you choose a good password which youll remember as password forgotten means no access to your files. The drive can still be formatted though.All in all, at this price, you get a decent drive with great build quality and a pretty looking design.Its very handy to take with you, especially on a key chain.Speeds are okay but wont break any world records.

Great performing thumb drive. It is real tiny, so keep a close eye on it when its not in use. Dont let a young child, or pet get a hold of it. They could swallow it. I do wish it came with a case to keep it in when its not being used. Ill be keeping mine in a small zip case with the other thumb drives I have. And for those of you wanting to password protect your files, you may download the SanDisk SecureAccess software to create a password protected folder on your drive. My use case is not usual and tends to burn out flash drives. This isnt a slam on them, as they werent designed be used like I use them. Ive used several brands over the last few years but I tend to come back to SanDisk. Although I do occasionally use flash drives correctly, mostly I use them as bootable sources of persistent instances of Linux Mint. This means that when they are in use and I use them quite often, they are getting beaten up very hard. Lots of both reads and writes large scale transfers sometimes, but not always, specific areas that get hit over and over, and a much much higher duty cycle than they are designed for. All things considered, it is no surprise that they run warm, the real surprise is that any of them last more than a few months, but SanDisk products have remained reliable for me. This is my first experience with their USB 3.1 Gen 1 devices but so far I am quite impressed and happy.

I do not think it will ever fail.I was surrprised how small it is, but that is both a good thing in some ways, but it would be easy to miss placedI did notice that the exterior Metal got hotter than expected when in use, which can be a concern, but since it is a SanDisk, which is a great company with a good warranty, I am not worried, as if it does break down from heat, it will be covered by SanDisks LIFETIME warranty.

This flash drive is excellent. 128 GB holds all of the personal data that is on my hard drive. It very compact, and it has an all metal construction so that it can be hooked to a key ring with a quick release mechanism which prevents it from being lost, but accessible when needed. Hab den Stick als externe HD fr einen Raspberry Pi gekauft. Da stimmt was wohl nicht ganz mit den Treibern oder dem Zugriff. Auf jeden Fall wird der Stick so heiss, dass ich mir die Finger dran verbrennen knnte. Lnger als 4 Sekunden halten geht nicht. Das Problem wird andernorts beschrieben und scheint normal zu sein bei dem Stick.

I bought several of these to backup my daily shooting when Im in the field for an extended period. These are TINY and take up virtually no room at all in my bag. I have them ziplocked together to make them a little larger so its easier to keep up with them. I like to keep my original SD or CF card, plus this backup until I get back home. I will also upload my card at days end to my laptop so I have at least three sets, in case one gets corrupted, dropped, lost, stolen, etc.

The SanDisk Ultra Luxe USB 3.1 Flash Drive 64Gb is compact with an aluminium body. When inserted into an USB 3 port it will read at the specified speed of 150Mbs. When writing files which are a total of 1Gb and larger it will start at 50Mbs but within 20 seconds the drive will become very hot and the speed will drop to 15Mbs. All additional data copied once the drive is hot will also copy at 15Mbs. This is the same speed as any normal USB 2.0 drive which do not generate any heat. I have little confidence this drive will store my data error free over the long term as the heat generated when writing will eventually destroy the drive. It is also quite tight to insert and remove however this is not performance issue.

Der Stick ist ein super geeignet wenn man einen kleinen und beraus handlichen Stick braucht. Man kann Ihn super an einem Schlsselanhnger oder einem anderen Anhnger befestigen und er ist sehr praktisch. Ebenfalls hat man eine sehr schnelle Datenbertragung und ist somit sehr gut dran mit solch einem Stick. der einzige Nachteil ist, der Stick wird nach kurzer Zeit sehr schnell recht warm aber dies strt nicht Gro.

I purchased two of these flash drives in July of 2020, received them 31 July 2020. They worked perfectly at first. I use them with rsync to back up files on my desktop computer running Linux Mint 19.3 with the MATE desktop. Last week when I tried to mount one of them to update my backup, one of the flash drives would not mount. I tried it in several different USB ports some direct to motherboard, including some on my husbands computer same op system, newer hardware, but no luck. The second flash drive still works so far. I called Sandisk this morning to see if they had any ideas, but their response was that their flash drives were only for use on Windows or Mac systems. So warning to Linux users dont buy Sandisk.

I purchased two of these flash drives in July of 2020, received them 31 July 2020. They worked perfectly at first. I use them with rsync to back up files on my desktop computer running Linux Mint 19.3 with the MATE desktop. Last week when I tried to mount one of them to update my backup, one of the flash drives would not mount. I tried it in several different USB ports some direct to motherboard, including some on my husbands computer same op system, newer hardware, but no luck. The second flash drive still works so far. I called Sandisk this morning to see if they had any ideas, but their response was that their flash drives were only for use on Windows or Mac systems. So warning to Linux users dont buy Sandisk.

Overall, the cons were nitpicky. I only needed this drive so that I could back up my material on the Chromebook 2in1 without having to drag my external hard drive brick from my desktop computer every fifteen minutes. It gives me a quarter of a terabyte in just a plug. The video was kind of slow, but I was transferring years full of videos in a single file.

I do not think it will ever fail.I was surrprised how small it is, but that is both a good thing in some ways, but it would be easy to miss placedI did notice that the exterior Metal got hotter than expected when in use, which can be a concern, but since it is a SanDisk, which is a great company with a good warranty, I am not worried, as if it does break down from heat, it will be covered by SanDisks LIFETIME warranty.

Great performing thumb drive. It is real tiny, so keep a close eye on it when its not in use. Dont let a young child, or pet get a hold of it. They could swallow it. I do wish it came with a case to keep it in when its not being used. Ill be keeping mine in a small zip case with the other thumb drives I have. And for those of you wanting to password protect your files, you may download the SanDisk SecureAccess software to create a password protected folder on your drive. Purchased a week ago, very difficult to transfer at full USB 3.0 speeds, as the drive heats up to over 60 degrees, to hot to touch. Dropped down to less then .5MBs after a few minutes, not good for a 128GB drive and you are trying to transfer large files.

This flash drive is excellent. 128 GB holds all of the personal data that is on my hard drive. It very compact, and it has an all metal construction so that it can be hooked to a key ring with a quick release mechanism which prevents it from being lost, but accessible when needed. Good price, and well worth the money.

The SanDisk Ultra Luxe USB 3.1 Flash Drive 64Gb is compact with an aluminium body. When inserted into an USB 3 port it will read at the specified speed of 150Mbs. When writing files which are a total of 1Gb and larger it will start at 50Mbs but within 20 seconds the drive will become very hot and the speed will drop to 15Mbs. All additional data copied once the drive is hot will also copy at 15Mbs. This is the same speed as any normal USB 2.0 drive which do not generate any heat. I have little confidence this drive will store my data error free over the long term as the heat generated when writing will eventually destroy the drive. It is also quite tight to insert and remove however this is not performance issue.

I bought several of these to backup my daily shooting when Im in the field for an extended period. These are TINY and take up virtually no room at all in my bag. I have them ziplocked together to make them a little larger so its easier to keep up with them. I like to keep my original SD or CF card, plus this backup until I get back home. I will also upload my card at days end to my laptop so I have at least three sets, in case one gets corrupted, dropped, lost, stolen, etc.

La marque Sandisk ma habitu des produits fiables et avec de bonne performances… Mais, l je suis un peu dubitatif Cette clef est sans le moindre doute une russite sur le plans du design, mais en terme de performances… Elle ma fortement du. Elle chauffe trs vite. Et surtout, et ce ny est peuttre pas tranger, elle est assez lente en criture… Descendant, jusqu 25MBs en criture ExFAT 400 fichiers de 1GB 5GB. Javoue ma dception.

The two tests in the picture were run one after another , with the first run right after it was plugged in. One can see where it starts limiting the write speed , and the second test shows that it continues to limit , even where it ran faster on the first run the only difference is that its now HOT .

Der neuste Stick scheint zudem etwas zu gross fr den USBPort zu sein und lsst sich nur mit viel Kraft hinein schieben und raus ziehen. Habe ich so noch nie bei einem anderen Stick gesehen.

I use these and various other Sandisk flash drives to give photos to clients. The metal casing looks great and I feel more confident with the SanDisk brand I use their SD cards Im my cameras. The only slight concern is that they do get rather warm when theyve just had several Gigabytes loaded onto them at once, but Ive had that with all metal drives, and theyve never been what I would say was hot, so nothing to worry about.

My other USB sticks were not recognised by my SmartTV, but not this one, plugged in and good to go straight away It claims the fastest data rates of the ones available in store, which is why it was more expensive than some. Also the largest storage capacity in this form factor

Bought this drive as a replacement for another aluminium drive which got damaged. Drive still works but the aluminium started tearing on the top where the open hole is. I am a bit worried this will happen to this drive as well, sooner or later.Of course, generally speaking, an aluminium drive is more rigid than a plastic one which makes these drives great for carrying around i.e. on your key chain.What Ive noticed is the drive runs very hot during transfers. Luckily the aluminium helps dissipate the heat better than other materials but still… it gets pretty hotThanks to the USB 3.0 interface you can get fast data transfers.Although mine doesnt seem to be lightning fast. A 2 GB file took about a minute and a half at a rate of about 1517MBs. Same speed for smaller files i.e. pictures.Not bad but no world records there. And this was on a USB 3.1 port.The price is good. Ive bought the 64GB model as I dont really need more. I only use it occasionally for taking files with me on the go.The drive comes with free SanDisk Secure Access software. With this, you can store your files safely in a vault. In case you lose it, no one will be able to access your files. It encrypts your data with 128 bit.Make sure you choose a good password which youll remember as password forgotten means no access to your files. The drive can still be formatted though.All in all, at this price, you get a decent drive with great build quality and a pretty looking design.Its very handy to take with you, especially on a key chain.Speeds are okay but wont break any world records.

Deze USB is een subtiele blikvanger met voldoende opslagcapaciteit. Hij ziet er professioneel uit voor gebruik op het werk als dit al zou uitmaken, heeft diverse opslagformaten beschikbaar, en draagt een goed prijskaartje. Hij is ook snel, wat handig is bij het overschrijven van bestanden. Nadeel is dat hij geen beschermdopje heeft en nogal stroef in en uit de USB poort gaat.
