Have recorded 8k raw and 4k 120 with no problems. Been using this card for the past month and a half and have had no issues. Bought it exactly for this reason SanDisk quality

    Besim

I tried to check all my CR3 images on my card, after 300400 images, it gave me an error, I lost about 100 image in 40005000 images. I hope it wont happen again. All my life I used only Sandisk. Never had any problem.

  3. blank

    Howard

Exactly what it claims to be. Well constructed and super fast transfer speeds.

  4. blank

    Tina

Nothing much to say other than I trust this brand for all my memory card needs and now that I have a Z6 II, this is the first time purchasing a CFexpress card.

  5. blank

    Geoffrey

Years ago I tried to save money on CF cards only to have one trip saved on a corrupt card. What a waste. Nothing recoverable. Im SanDisk ONLY now. Reliable cards.

  6. blank

    Trevor H

Yes it is slower than the 128 GB card but it is a lot cheaper. One day I will upgrade to 128GB or bigger but until then this nice card will get a lot of use.

  7. blank

    Robert

Ive only used this card for three weeks in my Nikon Z7II, and Im very impressed. The write speed, even when shooting 4K video, is excellent. Highly recommended.

  8. blank

    MIKE

This is a fast card that kept up with my new R5. I have no complaints and would recommend this card.

  9. blank

    ExtremePro

I bought this to use with the Canon R5 and it seems to work just fine. I have not had any problems.

  10. blank

    David

I trust the brand SanDisk. Throughout my 18 year history, Ive only had one card fail and Im confident that it was my fault. This CFexpress card is necessary for my new Canon R5. No complaints about speed or quality. However, 200 is a bit overpriced

  11. blank

    Anonymous

This memory card is fast and trustworthy. Its enough even for the fastest camera. The memory card never losses time on buffering. So you never will get lost a frame.

  12. blank

    Timothy

I mean, it is expensive but I need it for my Canon R5. It hasnt let me down yet but I also havent tried to shoot 8k RAW nor will I as it would melt my computer anyways.

  13. blank

    Steven

I purchased this card a CF Express Delkin Card on the recommendation of a BH sales rep to go with my EOS R5. I thought High Speed 300 MBs SD cards were fast, but transferring files to my MacBook Pro with this card and reader is LIGHTENING FAST. I must qualify my review in that I only shoot stills, no video.

  14. blank

    bizjo

This is a very fast card. works great in my new EOS R5 but it get hot during heavy write flow. I recommend it.

  15. blank

    Jonathan

With the rise in higher end cameras, this CFExpress card has been a perfect match with my workflow of 4K8K video shooting, along with long bursts of photo shooting

  16. blank

    JoeS

Great card. A little pricey, but this is the one you want.

  17. blank

    WALITA

I was able to snap alot of photos on my Nikon z6 camera at a family bridal shower. Loved the read speed on this card

  18. blank

    Vinceniado

First time owning the sandisk brand. No issue so far. Best bang for the buck.

  19. blank

    Dennis

Highly recommend Sandisk memory cards. They are very reliable and I cant fault them. The only issue is the price, however, you do get what you pay for and people who have purchased cheaper other brand cards have experienced difficulties and errors. They do run a little hot, but it is expected given the speed that they run at. Using a Sandisk card reader has also helped.

  20. blank

    Aleksandar

I ise it on Nikon Z7. Its worth noting you wont get write speed higher than that of an XQD card on this camera. It is now conpatible with CFe cards but doesnt use thwm to their full potential.

  21. blank

    Dennis

It probably is a very good card but it cannot be read in a Sony MRQE90 card reader. Unable to find a solution so I will just order a Sony XQD card.

  22. blank

    Louis

I bought this card to be used with my Canon 1DX Mark III. So far, I have taken over 5,000 pictures and saved them to this card without a hint of a problem. I have also recorded several 4K videos to this card without any problem. Downloading the imagesvideos to my desktop is not real speedy, but thats not the disks fault. I need to upgrade my disk reader and computer to get better speeds. Bottom Line This disk, along with the 64GB disk that came with the camera, will be more than sufficient for right now. Its worth the money

  23. blank

    Max

I purchased two cards for both of my Canon R5s. These cards are fast for reading and writing data.

  24. blank

    Andre

Very fast and reliable memory card, but too much expensive. Nowadays a memory card cannot cost that much.

  25. blank

    Daniel A

Works flawlessly with the my new Nikon Z6II. The versatility with dual cards in the camera make for a far superior user experience than in my old D70 Dan in SC.

  26. blank

    Wonderful

Super fast card that so far has been reliable and in my opinion a great purchase l. ThAnks Best Buy got the last one in stock

  27. blank

    Robert

I have two R5s. In one I use a SanDisk in the other I use a Sony. They are set identically. The one with the San Disk shows the high speed indicator in a different color, and it seems to shoot at a somewhat slower rate per second than the one which has the Sony card. I have been unable to find literature addressing the issue of the difference in LED read out colors. I have had no problem with the SanDisk card recording images or downloading them onto my computer although the cards do get warm.I have read reports indicting problems with cards of this type, other than the Sonys, by other reviewers. Given the apparent difference in performance in my cameras, I have elected not to purchase more of this type of card form SanDisk, even though I am unsure that mine is defective.

  28. blank

    Aleksandar

Works as expected and should be failsafe. I bought it for my Nikon Z7 one thing to note is the buffer does NOT clear faster. That is, Z7 is compatible with CF Express cards, but the speed will not exceed the one of the XQD due to camera slot limitations.

  29. blank

    Stan

Purchased a new camera that required this type of media and decided to bite the bullet and go big. Lighting fast and awfully expensive. Records every video format Ive thrown at it including Canon Cinema RAW light without a hiccup.

  30. blank

    WayneD

So so fast Ive always enjoyed using SanDisk card. This works perfectly in my Canon R5

  31. blank

    Elitefaction

Great read and write speeds But it seems like it gets too hot, Im worried about longterm use for this device Because it can get too hot to touch Without burning your fingers.

  32. blank

    William

Yes, this is the real deal. Been using it for 3 weeks not even a hiccup. I will buy more in the future.

  33. blank

    Mark

First card over 64gb, wish they werent so expensive, but nice not having to use so many smaller cards

  34. blank

    Lando

Great speed high capacity memory card that seems to be built to very high standards. Works great for me, highly recommend.

  35. blank

    RSS101

works as intended. Build quality is solid. I have been an Sandisk user for many years so I trust the product. Will be adding more cards to my kit.

  36. blank

    David

The price is expensive but the speed is amazing I never had any problems with SanDisk memory cards.

  37. blank

    Aubrey

Worth it to purchase for the EOS R5 even if just stills on silent continuous. Reads quicker than an SD.

  38. blank

    Norman

Seems reliable and is essential with the Canon 1DX lll. It is expensive, and so with the discount price it was a good purchase.

  39. blank

    Michael

these are fast and no errors. Have had no problems with the 2 I purchased

  40. blank

    Mike

Very fast card for my Nikon Z6 ii. Ive had SD cards fail me in the past so Im excited to have the more reliable CFexpress card option. Only time will tell if they are more reliable but the speed of transfer so far has been great.

  41. blank

    Carl

Possibly my fault for not doing enough research, but very surprised that this card isnt quite fast enough for 8k video on the R5. I skipped the 64gb card because the write speed on it is clearly very average 800 MBs, but didnt realise only the very expensive 512gb card from Sandisk is fast enough.Sandisk is not the only one. You have to buy a similarly expensive cobalt card from Prograde for the R5 for the same reason.Sony, however, are offering a 128gb card that is fast enough for less money than the Sandisk 219 compared with 249 sticker price for the Sandisk. I have always bought Sandisk cards, but Id recommend the Sony for R5 buyers until Sandisk sorts their write speed issues out.

  42. blank

    Tom

Bought this as a back up to the same sized Sony Tough CFexpress card. The Sony failed twice during two different football games in the middle of the second quarter. No reply from Sony on email request on possible issues or replacement. This card has not been used long yet, but has not failed. I read some reviews that mentioned these are more reliable in canon cameras. Hope it is true

  43. blank

    Aaron

This card is super fast with read and write speeds that keep up with the large files of my D850. I have never had an issue with Sansdisk, so no hesitation on my part to purchase. Exceptional card and worth it to me.

  44. blank

    Adrian

Theres a reason rental houses prefer SanDisk. These new cards do not disappoint

  45. blank

    James

This card has kept up with the Canon R5 without lagging. The only issue is the heat build up when transferring files. File transfer is fast and it has great recording speed as well. Solid card all around.

  46. blank

    Brad

Bought for the new Canon R5 and it works amazing. I would expect nothing less from SanDisk though.

  47. blank

    Robert

So far, this flash memory handles the Canon 1DX speed at least in short bursts. Images appear quickly with high resolution and accurate color rendition. It

Last these went on sale, the largest 512GB size was the best value per GB by far. That said, still not cheap…

  49. blank

    John

I use SanDisk memory cards in all of my camera bodies because I love equipment I can depend on and not give a second thought to. This 256GB Extreme Pro CFexpress card not only has great capacity, it also has a screamingly fast read rate of 1700 MBsecond Its a truly remarkable advance in memory cards. Its perfect for high frame rate captures with high megapixel bodies. Amazing

  50. blank

    David

Such and improvement over SD cards that have gradually worn and become unusable.

  51. blank

    Jacob

Card is the newer version of 128GB running new microcode firmware. CrystalMark utility running on a PC with card connected via reader was showing faster read and write speeds compared to older ANCIN version.

  52. blank

    Gregory

Worked like a charm in my Canon R5. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of any noticeable lag when shooting at high FPS. Also had enough capacity to hold more than 4,000 CRAW .CR3 images from a weekend wedding on a single card.

  53. blank

    Matt

This card is working well with the new EOS R5. SanDisk has always been a reliable brand for me and this card has worked flawlessly so far. The readwrite speeds are excellent

  54. blank

    Turboturtle

Works Well in my Canon R5 camera. Writes fast and have had no issues with the card. Thinking of buying another one as backup

  55. blank

    Douglas

Headline says it all. Works perfectly in my Canon EOS R5. Had to buy a new card reader for it, but thats progress…..

  56. blank

    Lyman

Nice CFExpress card. I have always trusted Sandisk and they have not let me down.

  57. blank

    Zachariah

Some of the best cards for event photography and video shooting with my R5, would trust all my shoots to these.

  58. blank

    shambhu

This is my first CFxpress card, I dont have another card to compare with but if I am not wrong I felt this card becomes way hot when you use it with R5.

  59. blank

    Jinghua

This SanDisk 128GB CF B card works with a max speed of 1.2GBs, which is great for mirrorless camera. I can take a continuous shot of more than 10pictures.Works flawlessly. I rarely saw the camera is in buffering when taking continuous 10 high speed shots.

  60. blank

    HOMER

Worked as expected. Reliable so far with no issues shooting with a 20fps high resolution camera.

  61. blank

    Alexander

Hi,The item is received on time and in good condition.Cards works well with speed on my Nikon Z7 on latest camera firmware 3.1.Downloading of images in Lightroom 9.2 is fast through the Sony CF express B XQD card reader Model MRWG1 on the Mac OSX High Sierra.

  62. blank

    Akay

If youre shooting with a canon R5, a CFExpress like this is a must. You cant shoot the 4K or 8K video without it

  63. blank

    NICHOLAS

Excellent card that arrived quickly. Working great with my EOS R5. Id consider the 512 version next.

  64. blank

    Dean

I have only had the card a short time. It has performed well when using the Canon 5 R camera. I was shooting Great Blue Herons in flight and the card never failed and kept up with the high FPS shooting.

  65. blank

    Christopher

The price was attractive, so once I determined that the CFExpress card will work in my Z6, I bought this card. What I failed to consider and subsequently learned is that my XQD card reader wont read this card, so I now need a new reader, too. Obviously that doesnt speak to the card, per se. I bought this card based on my longtime satisfaction with SanDisk memory cards, and the atthetime attractive sale price.

  66. blank

    Isaac

Super fast, even when readingwriting RAW and JPEGS simultaneously. However, this card heats up a lot. When you use your card reader to load into your computer make sure to take the card out of the reader it gets hot if you leave it in.

  67. blank

    SamMN

Amazingly fast card. Paired it with the sandisk extreme pro 300mbs SD card, and have not had an issue writing to both cards for extremely long bursts. I recommend both.

  68. blank

    Fred

Very happy with the performance and reliability of these cards. Currently using them with my Canon 1DX III and R5 cameras. Highly recommended.

  69. blank

    Oscarville

This memory card is pretty fast the only drawback is extremely expensive for what it is. A device this small should not cost that much for what it does just to save some space and because of speed makes no sense. The only reason Ive kept this is because theres nothing cheaper with this amount of space and to pay for it in monthly installments that is ridiculous.

  70. blank

    Douglas

Very good card. This was the first CF express card I owned. It does get warmer than any other cards I have used to date.

  71. blank

    Chad

Running these in my Canon R5 shooting 8K and 4K 120, flawless operation.

  72. blank

    Bob

Used the 1 Seller ProGrade Digital CFexpress Type B UHSII SDXC DualSlot USB 3.2 Gen 2 Card Reader with my SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Type B for the first time last night. Transfered about twenty 45mb files so fast I almost couldnt believe it After the transfer I left the card in the reader that was still attached to my MacBook Pro for about 20 minutes or so while I imported and viewed my files in Lightroom. When I finally took the card out of the reader the card was extremely hot to the point that I thought I could have burned my fingers. I had to wait about 45minutes until the card cooled down before I attempted to put it back into my camera. To be fair I am not sure if its the fault of the reader or the card but I have never experienced a CF or an SD card ever getting hot after leaving it connected to my computer.

  73. blank

    Elizabeth

Have never had an issue with SanDisk memory cards over many years and so far teh CFexpress card Type B performs as expected. Definitely faster than what I am used to and compatible with my Z6. Happy to date.

  74. blank

    Susan

I have been pleased with card it is fast and holds more photos than my prior card. Just what I needed

  75. blank

    Julian

I shoot still photos with my Canon EOS1D X Mark III. I usually save RAWHEIF and sometimes convert HEIF to JPEG incamera. 64GB seems to be plenty storage space for me. However, if you shoot video, you will need larger cards. In addition, I have yet to encounter a delay for highspeed continuous shooting.I keep copies of the files on three external hard drives. Thus, if I ever need more space than 64GB, I can always reformat the card and start with a clean slate again.

  76. blank

    Scott

The speed of this thing is insane. Getting 8k raw and 120fps without problems.

  77. blank

    Andy

Card works well. But, I have a 34 ur old Sony XQD card reader. The older ones are not compatible with this format. Make sure your card reader will work.

  78. blank

    Aaron

My first CF Express card. I always get SanDisk Extreme PRO cards and this one seems as good as all the SD and CF ones Ive bought over the years.

  79. blank

    JamesSellsHomes

Picked this up for my Sony camera. writes fast, hardly any time wasted waiting for pictures to write.

  80. blank

    Steven

I recently updated the firmware on my Nikon D850 which allows use of the CFexpress card. I ran the card through the paces and it worked fine. I didnt conduct a side by side comparison between the XQD and CFexpress cards, but found the RW speed was excellent. It appeared the download speed on the CFexpress card is faster than the XQD when downloading to my PC…..again, that is only a qualitative assessment. Bottom line, Im very happy with the card and will definitely purchase CFexpress cards in the future vs. XQD.

  81. blank

    Kybe

SanDIsk has been my go option for cards since I began shooting in 2015. Having changed to the Z6II it was only natural that I would keep it SanDisk.

  82. blank

    Bob

Nikon recently revised the firmware for the D850. Needing new cards for this camera I noted that these were a bit less expensive than the Sony XQD equivalent. Function is flawless, download of images is quicker than with the XQD cards.

  83. blank

    Pete

Fast storage for the new canon r5 camera, and able to store a lot of pictures. However needed to purchase a reader for the new format.

  84. blank

    Subhankar

Works as intended. I am getting 350mbps read and write speeds on my desktop. I tried connecting it through the USB 3.1 port and the USB C port. I tested the transfer speeds on my 2015 MacBook pro as well and the same results.Im using the Prograde CF Express card reader. The only concern I have is that the card gets pretty hot when it is in the card reader transferring to the computer.I did buy a Prograde 128gb and a Lexar 128gb earlier.I got 140mbps write speed and about 300mbps read speeds on the Prograde card while transferring files.I got 350mbps on read and write on the Lexar. Both the Lexar and Prograde was less hot when on the card reader.

  85. blank

    Pat

I like the speed that these cards write to…. I ordered another one to have on hand as I plan to get another Z camera.

I honestly do not know why this card needs to be priced so high. The recovery time is okay. Sandusky would sell more if they got the pricing more in line w red cards. I get the fit is special to the camera but the functionality and fundamentals are overall the same. images by LM

I love that Moment is branching out now, and offering more gear for photographers I just got my Canon R5 and needed a new CF Express card to get the most out of the camera and Moment had exactly what I needed. Their customer service is fantastic and their shipping was fast and free, which is awesome

Works the way it should. Getting tired of buying all new sets of media cards every time I buy a new camera. I guess its just the photo biz.

  93. blank

    Dennis

I was very impressed with these new cards. Cant wait for the price to come down, but at this point, I have yet with the 1DX Mark lll to come close to filling them up. Love the super fast readwrite speeds. No hiccups at all so far.

This card is the way to go for filming videos in the canon R5. It is extremely fast, Which is needed for filming 4K videos. This card has never failed me.

Ive never used another card brand for my main card. Sandisk has never let me down. This is my fifth Sandisk CFexpress Type B card. I like to keep the cards in the camera until theyre full.

Just bought two of these for my Nikon Z6. So far the performance his been terrific. Great suggestion by the guys at BH. Thanks.

This card is very fast, but it sure does get warm, both when shooting continuously, and when uploading images to the computer. Very warm to the touch. I have read this is normal, but, a heads up to all, as it is very noticeable.

  98. blank

    TvPhoto

So far, this card has been a workhorse for me with shooting both video and stills.

Using in c300 mkiii for 120 FPS 4K. It works Wish it were a little cheaper. If you want to see our C300 mk3 120fps 4k footage we shot on this card check out Film Jams on YouTube

    Robert

Works well with my Nikon D850. I did not buy a CFExpress reader so I load the photos directly from the camera. I think I may buy a card reader for it soon that will handle both my XQD and the CF cards as I use both. I think 64 GB is a good size since it stores plenty of pictures but lets me change to other cards without the large expense of the bigger capacity cards and without worrying about an entire shoot being on one card.

  101. blank

The price was pretty high. It was not what I planned to spend. Luckily for me the Cashier assisted me to the correct one. He was helpful. Otherwise I would have walked out of the store without purchasing anything. My hero.Dont get me wrong. It is a good brand. Just not want was required at the time.

  102. blank

    Joseph

I have several of these and several of the Sony Tough cards for my R5. They are reliable and fast I would prefer Canon make their cameras to take 2 CF cards or 2 CF Express Cards instead of an SD card as the second slot, so I dont have to sacrifice speed and burstduration to have a backup of every shot. Lexar used to be King, but the company sold the Lexar brandline of SD, CF, and CF Express cards and the ones Ive purchased or seen test results for since the sale just arent as fast as the presale cards or competitors cards.

  103. blank

    Mark

This card is ultrafast, solid and reliable. No need to fret the single card holder in the Z6. This card will not let you down.

  104. blank

    Karl

A big problem with the Nikon Z7 was that only XQD cards worked. They were very expensive. Along came CFexpress Type B cards at nearly the same price but much faster. Nikon upgraded the firmware so now both card types work. Ive had no problems with the CFexpress Type B in my Z7s.

  105. blank

This card works well for still photography on my R5. I purchased it on sale too. I use my Sony Tough CFexpress 128GB card for videos as its a better card but costs more.

    Max1030

Just purchased a Canon R5 and have been using an SDHC card only for the past 2 months hoping this newer card would come down in price. Couldnt resist any longer and paid and regrettably paid the exorbitant price. Using this card exclusively for images and have not noticed any increase in speed.

Great quality card, and works great in my Nikon D850. One of the hardest items ever to get open, very well sealed.

  110. blank

    William

SanDisk compact flash cards have always worked well for me, so these CFExpress cards are just as reliable.

Works as expected, but it does get warm in use. Hopefully this is of no consequence…

I dont know if the problem is this card or the Lexar card reader BH LECFERU31R MFR LRWCFXRBNA but this card gets SHOCKINGLY hot in just a few minutes while in the card reader, and it also becomes too hot to hold if I leave it in the card reader when the computer is OFF

  113. blank

    Rodney

Ive only used this card for a few weeks but have been recording to SanDisk cards for several years. No problems so far and I dont expect any.

  114. blank

    Connor

I bought one of these cards to use with my Canon EOS R5, and it records 8K RAW with virtually no lag. If that doesnt sell you on it, I dont know what else to say.

  115. blank

    Zachariah

Best high speed cards one could ask for for doing weddings and event shooting. Absolutely fantastic.

  116. blank

    Johnathan R

I purchased this card for my Canon R5 thinking 256GB would be overkill but its almost not enough. With the Fast Shutter Speeds and 45 MP photos it will fill up storage on your card fairly quickly. Youd have to switch between high speed continuous and single shot frequently risk missing the bird flying away. This is the minimum size Id recommend. I noticed that the card does heat up when using a card reader its almost too hot to touch. SanDisk has always had quality products so far Ive never had a card fail.

  117. blank

    Joe

I have used SanDksk for year without every having a card problem. If you are shooting the new Canon R5 I recumbent the 256 GB size.

  118. blank

Ive always liked SanDisk cards for their reliability. Only had this for a short while, but it really is fast with my R5. I used it this past weekend shooting wildlife RAW with 45 megapixel files I got over 4000 shots on one card.

I love this card, it just keeps on writing on my Canon R5. Highly recommended as no problems experienced unlike some other people. I tend to buy these things through B H as I have found their products to be genuine and not knock offs that may feature from some other suppliers. Its a bit expensive, but what will it cost to have to reshoot something like a wedding because of a card failure both in time and reputation.

I got a great price on BH and knew I would need this for the R5 I have ordered. I have many other SanDisk and know this will work as flawlessly as all the others

Some of the best cards for event photography and video shooting with my R5, would trust all my shoots to these.

While it is hard to write a review shortly after getting something, this card works great in my Nikons XQD slot. So far, I have not had any issues.

I picked this card up to use in my Nikon D850 to have faster write speeds when I do sports or wildlife photography. The D850 was designed for XQD cards, but can support CFexpress with the latest firmware update. This was the Goldilocks card as my options were to spend the same for a slower and now obsolete XQD card or spend twice as much for a faster CFexpress card that my D850 could not fully utilize. I am very happy with the write speed as it clears the buffer very quick and I can get around a 30 raw image burst before the camera slows, when it does slow it takes maybe 23 seconds to clear. Compared to my SD where I would get around 20 images and require around 10 seconds to clear. I am super happy with this card, but as noted its a transitional card. When I eventually upgrade the camera body and the prices of faster cards drop this card will most likely become a backup card.

To maximize the speed of the CFexpress interface, SanDisk requires you to also maximize the capacity. I trust SanDisk cards in all my cameras and nothing less than the fastest card would do when shooting 8k raw video.

Good cards are not cheap, but neither is my work. I want it protected and I want no card failures. This card meets that need. I shoot to 2 cards and I format the 64GB card for each event, and allow retention of several events on the 128 GB card before it is formatted. This works for me, and SanDisk has not failed me as another brand has.

So far, very good card.People say you can not hit the buffer on the new Canon R5, not true. The Sandisk hits the buffer less than my Hoodman card of the same size, regardless of what each says the speed ratings are, this card hits the buffer lessThese cards get hot in the card reader, so eject them as SOON as you finish downloading or importing your files

  142. blank

Ive long been a fan of the SanDisk Extreme PRO memory cards and this CFexpress card is the fastest Ive ever used by a long shot It both reads and writes at a blinding rate which is fabulous for capturing and downloading video and wildlife bursts. Combine that performance with the usual Extreme PRO bulletproof durability and it is, in my opinion, the best memory card yet.

I needed a spare CF Express card to work with my new camera and Best Buy had it in stock. I could just walk in and buy it without needing to worry that there might be delivery problems. Best Buy matched Amazons price for this memory card which is really great. And the card works fine.

I ordered 4 of these and am using them in my D6 and D5 with updated firmware. They run a bit hot when moving a lot of data. I typically use Nikon Transfer to get images off the card to two Lacie portable hard drives one primary and the other backup. When using this method, the read rate is pedestrian, because the portable hard drives dont have that much band width. But if I download to my work station which has a MEGARaid SAS controller which has a 4 Gig cache, and 12 SATA drives set up as RAID 60, they zip off the card in a small fraction of the time. The basic take home lesson is that the speed of reading the card is going to be a function of the speed of the computer you are writing to. I use the Sony CFExpress BXQD card reader.

  161. blank

ProReally really fastConVery costly compared to sd cardNeed an extra adapter to connect with computerFor nikon, you need an xqd to update the firmware before using this cfexpress which delayed my usage for a week

The reason Im giving only one star is because its size is absurdly bigger and I didnt realize it at the time of ordering. It doesnt have a clear sign for the inexperienced that it would fit neither in a regular camera nor in any kind of PC. I had to return it.

I recently got an R5 and used an SD card for the first few days. I have always used CF cards and shyed away from SD due to how frail they felt. CF cards were very sturdy and had lower failure rates. When I saw that the R5 used SD and CFexpress I knew I had to bite the bullet and invest in some cards…I decided to start small and got the 64GB card. Card feels very sturdy. The only gripe besides the price is how hot these cards get when transferring images via CF express readers. I am reading that is a common issue…so be sure to get readers that have metal housing.

The good these are an exact fit for the earlier XQD cards and I saved 50 each on a promotion that BH was running at the time of purchase. The bad After upgrading my Nikon Z6 to the 3.0 firmware update, the cards recorded flawlessly. When I tried to download the images with my XQD card reader, my MacBook Pro didnt recognize them. The ugly It turns out that I had to buy a dedicated CFexpress card reader. Its an additional 100, and is back ordered until next month. I saved absolutely 0

Questinable at Dec2019. On S1 and S1R connected to PC it is not fast as declared. But some time it was much FASTER than declared, with fantastic speed, after reconnection. Might be camerafirmware just not always recognize it at full speed, but the same results on two different computers. I think it will be fixed in firmware. In general I highly recommend it over XQD same price, 3x5x speed. On S1 in RAW its about 60 seconds continuos shooting and just couple seconds to free up buffer. Literally almost infinite RAW continuous shooting On S1R not big difference compared to XQD, that surprising.Five seconds in RAW and few seconds to dump buffer

  168. blank

    Quang

The card runs very hot and makes EOSR5 overheat faster when recording video. The card is faster than any SD card. But dont expect to get 1700MBs read. The real problem is that if you use it for a while it overheats and slows down. After copying about 350400GB it slows down to about 150MBs for the remainder of the transfer.

  169. blank

    Eric

If your shooting 8k or 120fps on the Canon R5 you need a card. But if your shooting 4 k video or less Id recommend an Atomos recorder and SSD drives. You will spend about the same and gain a monitor and tons of features.

I guess the true test of any card will be longevity, but so far so good. Ive used nothing but SanDisk since I got into photography almost 20 years ago and have never had a card fail on me. Thats a big consideration since Im now shooting with a Z7 and dont have a backup card. That said, Ive always preferred having multiple smaller cards over fewer big ones. In the event one failed, I wouldnt lose as much. But from what I can tell, with CFexpress cards you need to get to bigger sizes to get the best performance.

Extremely fast and love the durability even over CF cards. I would NEVER trust a clients wedding on any type of SD card. I am using eight pairs of these on my new 1Dx mk3 and they are beyond fast for dumping the files to my workstation.I am typically a Lexar Professional guy but their cards havent released yet.

Bought on black friday sale. Very expensive at regular price. I opted for these over XQD as CFExpress seems to be where camera tech is going. So far no problems in my z6ii. Will continue to use side by side normal UHSii cards as well.

    Jerome

The card seems to work. It records images and I can read them off the card. However, when the card is just sitting inserted in a card reader, it gets very hotalmost too hot to hold. Is this normal If so, perhaps this is why the Canon EOS R5 overheats.

This is a fast and great card, but be forwarned. It is HOT. You will notice that it heats up in your camera. I suppose that is the nature of the beast, but if you camera has heat problems to begin with, you are going to add to them with this card.

First time using CFExpress since I just bought an R5. Neat little formfactor not too big, not too small. Stupidly fast. Oh, and its fast.Using a Trebleet CFExpress reader via USBC I can manage sustained 380MBsec ingesting with USB 3.1. SSD of course can hold the speed but my photo HDD will naturally dip back down to the max write speed once the drives buffer is full. If I instead, connect to the USBC PCIe Bayimei AIC with a USBC Cable, itll ingest at 880MBsec. Clearly again, SSD territory or rather NVMe territory as a SATA SSD will be the limiting factor. Really fantastic for bringing HUGE files in from doing video work. So far, zero issues cardwise as Ive always shot on SanDisk.Has zero issue handing any high bitrates of the R5 in any mode. Can handle 1,300 RAWs in a burst easily before the R5s buffer fills. After one second it lets you shoot 80 more images, then have to wait a second, 80 more etc. After 3 seconds of waiting, the R5s pending buffer is fully written to the card.Gets pretty darned warm almost hot when inuse for awhile.Oh and… its fast. Expensive but if you do a lot of R5 video work and want to prolong the NAND lifecycle overall, go for it
