Great build quality, all metal, but lightweight and compact, reasonably fast aperture, very sharp, love the aperture ring and the magnetic cap. Bought as a walkaround general purpose prime that would not weigh my camera the excellent Lumix S5 down excessively, but have also had good results using it for astrophotography.

Light, compact, very sharp, good character color on my Leica… while it may not be 100 the reference lens that the Leica Apo 35 f2 is… subjectively it is 90 its equal 90 of the time for 19th the price… you will have to decide if the difference will define your photographs as deficient.

Sigma created a masterpiece with this lens. Small and light weight makes it an excellent choice for street photography. The 65mm focal length makes a great replacement for the 50mm standard lens every day candid portraits. It is very sharp wide open at f2. The bokeh is excellent. The metal construction makes it extremely rugged.

This lens is very sharp at 2.8 and above. You will not be disappointed with this lens. Metal construction for an elegant look. Clicking aperture also a great feature.

Im impressed. A lightweight 65mm lens with remarkable sharpness and ease of use. 65mm is the street photography lens of the pandemic, allowing you to get close without getting close. This is a very workable focal length. I have found 90mm and 75mm too limiting, given that I usually shoot with a 35mm lens. Sigma is producing some excellent lenses for the Leica SL and L mount cameras. I think that this lens plus the 35mm Leica SL would make an excellent urban travel kit. Recommended. I have attached some walking around the neighborhood photos that illustrate its quality.

This is a beast for low light scenarios. Paired with the Panasonic S5 it gives good video. It reminds me of the MFT Leica 15mm f1.7. Great construction…well, Im sure youll find a thorough review on some platform.

Positive1. Incredibly Practical2. Fantastic Build Quality3. SharpNegative1. Vignetting2. Weather Sealing could be better3. Cant really think of another oneThis is the definition of Bang for the Buck I really like using this lens and foresee a long lasting relationship between my s1 and this glass. Do you need a faster lens Not really. If you do, then you are shooting some super specific subject matter or you just like to spend a lot more money. F2 provides a wonderful speed capable of providing a multitude of options in almost any situation.I bought this lens and the 65mm f2 instead of buying the 2470mm 2.8 from Sigma. I am loving the results of my decision and look forward to seeing what I can produce in the future with this lens. The lens is not perfect and is not the sharpest at 2.0. There are definitely better lenses out there if you are a pixel peeper, but I think this lens provides wonderful images and great color rendering. I really like the size of this lens as well as the manual controls. I havent tried the sigma 35mm 1.4, but the built in Adapter makes the lens much bigger and more cumbersome to carry with you. I personally think the build quality, price difference and size make up for the extra stops that the 1.4 provides. This f2 is also designed specifically for mirrorless and I believe that to be an overall win compared to an older design modified to fit the L mount cameras. I would highly recommend this lens and would suggest anyone with an L mount camera to buy this lens.PS SIGMA please make a 135mm 2.0 or 2.8 I series lens

Ideal fr eine kleine Kamera wie die LUMIX S5 oder die Sigma fpSerie, wenn man Festbrennweiten mag und nicht unbedingt f1.2 oder f1.4 braucht.

I am having a blast with this lens as my walk around lens for the Leica CL. With the crop sensor, its just under a 100mm full frame equivalent. Its sharp with great color Im sure Leica has a lot to do with the great color though. Plus Im so glad to have a physical iris ring for once. I hope they make a 28mm f2 soon, the 35 is too normal on my CL and the 24, at 3.5, Im not as excited about. Please, Sigma, f2 not 2.8, Im willing to pay a little more for the 2.

Objectief nu 3 weken in bezit.

This lens gives pictures a look shared with the 85mm f1.4 DG DN Art sharp without appearing overly clinical. It sneaks up on you Oh, thats really sharp. Some of Leicas own lenses really slap you in the face with their sharpness youd look and say, My Gd thats sharpThe Sigma 352 DG DN C is also less than half the weight of the 352 APOSummicronM ASPH. I have a bad back and shoot on location a lot, so weight is important. And the Sigma 352 DG DN C while not an apochromatic lens is sharp enough. Subjectively and by MTF its as sharp or sharper at center and edges than anything else that isnt a Leica Lmount lens.Highly recommended.Use and images with Leica SL2.

65mm f2 Who uses something with those specifications What use could you have with this lens What kind of situation does it benefit The answers to these questions are easy and surprising. This focal length combined with the f2 aperture allows for great subject separation, bokeh and yet it is still wide enough that other details are not lost to depth of field. I could easily say this lens helps to tell a great story because 65mm is wide enough to show what is going on in a photo, yet highlight what is important at the same time. I like it more than the classic 50mm because of the subject separation. I find it more practical than an 85mm because it doesnt feel as limiting in my hands. The build quality is fantastic and the size is just about right on my Panasonic s1. It really feels natural when Im using it on a photo shoot. If you want to do portrait photography and dont want to spend a large amount of money, then this lens is absolutely made for you. If you do a bit of journalistic photography, then this lens should be in your bag. The image quality and performance of this lens is by far the best of all the iseries lenses. I love what I am able to capture with this all metal 65mm beauty. I dont really have any complaints about this lens for photography. It is simply wonderful. I also do video work as well and this is where the 65mm shows a weakness. It really needs a declickable aperture and faster speeds than f2 to produce what I would like from this focal length. The Panasonic 50mm would be a better choice, but at a very significant price difference. Overall this lens is fantastic for anyone who loves photography and I would highly recommend it. Video quality is also top notch, but physical limitations hinder the ease of use. This lens is by far one of the best lenses on the market. It shouldnt be overlooked because of the odd focal length and lower price point.PS Sigma Please make a 135mm f2.0 or 2.8 I series lens

Optically this lens is great. Its very sharp, has good color rendition, and things like vignetting and chromatic abberation are very well controlled. YouTube videos will do a better job of giving details about the optics. The quirks come in with the handling. It is a fairly compact lens but feels heavier than it looks because of the all metal build. While interesting that it has an aperture ring, without a lock it can be easy to click it over from auto to f22. The reason for this at least on my S5 is that turning the aperture ring and twisting the lens on to the camera are both done with a clockwise motion. This means that while I am putting the lens on the camera, it is quite easy to accidentally turn the ring. Final thing is the focal length. 65mm is an odd in between focal length and it will be down to personal preference if you like this or not. For me I love shooting at 50mm and I think I would prefer to shoot closer to that focal length but at the time this is the only affordable prime option for Lmount except for the 45mm f2.8 but Im not sure why anyone would want a f2.8 prime lens. Last thing I will comment on is the focusing. This lens focuses quickly but I have noticed that my Lumix 1635 f4 focuses much faster. For that reason I look forward to when Panasonic releases their 50mm f1.8, but for now this lens will do fine.
