This is a really nice keyboard. It has a solid feel and good weight to it and everything about it just feels high quality.In case there was any confusion from the description, the keyboard itself is a grey aluminum color. The cherry red on my model refers to the plastic under the keys, which you can only barely see if you look at an angle. If you choose a different feel for the keypresses, its distinguished by a blue color instead of red.The lights are just a white color but are easy to brighten or dim. No software is needed for the keyboard and its truly plug and play. This does mean that you are limited to just 5 lighting modes on, breathing, a snake pattern that starts at the top and just goes back and forth to the bottom, reaction which just lights up where you type and slowly fades, or a random twinkling effect. Its easy to switch between modes with a few clicks and fun to add the the typing experience, but dont expect the intricate color and lighting options of a keyboard that requires you to download a software to run.The real test for me was letting my daughter use the keyboard. For some reason she decided to get really good at typing and can type more than 90 wpm. She says the feel is really nice and the keys just work better. Trying to get her to explain why, she just likes the way they feel and that you can really tell when youve pressed the key or not, and it pops back into place quickly enough that you dont feel like you may have missed a letter like when typing the word letter that has two ts in a row. She loves the keyboard and wont give it back.This is a fairly basic keyboard, but just really well built and Im very happy with it.

This is a wonderful keyboard. I have come to absolutely love mechanical keyboards. If you havent tried one, I highly recommend them. This one in particular would be a great choice. To start off, it has a really elegant, modern design which should complement most modern computerhome office setups. It is really comfortable to type on. The keystrokes are really smooth, yet tactile. The build quality is also top notch. Its got a nice sturdy feel to it. The backlighting is a nice touch, and it even gives you a few different effects to choose from, which is a nice touch. It would have been nice to have the option of rgb colors, but I guess thats reserved for more expensive and flashy gaming keyboards. Two small issues I do have are as follows. One, the font they chose for the keys is a bit weird. Like some of the letters look like any other keyboard, but then others have like little gaps. The same is true for the symbols. Its just a little jarring at first, and on some of the symbols, the sign in particular, it just makes it look like there is a defect in the key. Also, the function symbols are not illuminated. So in a dark room, you cant use any of the media playback keys, or more importantly, the volume keys. Which brings us to the second issue. There is no dedicated volume knob or dial or anything. I appreciate that the FN keys can be used, so the functionality is there. But as stated, its hard to tell in the dark which keys they are, and a dedicated dial would have been preferable. Small issues, but enough to knock off a point. Maybe even half a point, but thats not an option. Overall, this is a great keyboard that you will not be disappointed with.

I had so much trouble with our wireless keyboard, I bought this one. Its really noisy and clunky but it works great. I hated the wireless one that just didnt work or got stuck. At least this one is more reliable. I think the wired keyboards are considered dinosaurs but Ill like it rather than new technology that stinks.

The keys are small. Almost like keyboards from the 90s. There seems to be more space between the edges of the keys vs a taper of the keys edges like on many other keyboards. It might take some getting used to if you have been using a laptop or larger key keyboards. The keys have a nice shape on their tops and there are locator points you can feel so your fingers naturally find the location.Key action is good. Not too much resistance so easy to press. It doesnt have the positive click at the end of the keystroke like some other keyboards. This makes it quieter to type on and doesnt tire your fingers out from heavy key presses. The key travel is longer, like it was on older keyboards so thats another thing you have to get used to. The longer travel is a welcome feature to those who learned on older keyboards and typewriters.The key font is a little odd. Numbers and letters that have circles inside them have a line going out to the edge. Im not sure if this was a design choice or a sideeffect of molding the translucent keys. Not really a problem, its just different.The keyboard feels solid. The aluminum plate under the keys gives it some weight and there is no flex in the keyboard itself. The weight of the keyboard really keeps it in place on the desk, nice benefit.It has the ability to lock out the Windows key. Whether youre gaming or working, hitting the Windows key accidentally can be annoying. So being able to lock that out is nice.The backlighting works well. The switches under the keys are translucent and let the light shine around the keys. All the letters and numbers on the keys let plenty of light through to read them in the dark. There are 3 levels of brightness available. There are also 4 modes that create different patterns of light on the keyboard. A zigzag light pattern, increasing the brightness of the key you press, a random flickering of lights and a slow fade up and down of the brightness of the whole keyboard.All the switches are on top of the aluminum plate which raises the keys up and makes it easy to clean around the keys. The cord and USB plug are of high quality as is the entire keyboard construction. It looks and feels expensive.All around a nice keyboard to use. Id recommend it.

have always been a fan of mechanical keyboards for work however, that feature is normally reserved for high priced gaming keyboards. The Logitech K845 just broke the mold by giving me the coveted cherry red switches, backlighting and some cool lighting profiles that activate when you press FN F12 at an affordable price.If you are looking for a no nonsense, comfortable keyboard that doesnt require any software to make it run. This is the keyboard for you. I highly recommend it.

As a masters student, I am consistently writing about 2,500 words on average per week. When it came to replacing my previous keyboard I knew I wanted a mechanical keyboard that didnt break the bank. As a casual gamer the Logitech k845 with linear red switches was a perfect mix for productivity and slight gaming.This being my first mechanical keyboard I personally own I wanted to make sure the build quality of the board would be something that would feel premium but not over priced. There are gaming keyboarded that fit this same price range but do not offer the same quality. The red linear witches are perfect for gaming and typing. I am happy to have chosen the linear for there smooth press and satisfying sounds. The key caps do not hold finger oils so the keyboard still maintains the new finish after use.Overall the price of the keyboard was the main seller for me. Being a college student money is not always available to make purchases such as this. I am pleased that this premium feeling keyboard was an option at this price point.

The Keyboard is well built and sturdy. The metal finish on top is grayish to me. The USB cable is nondetachable but of adequate length. The light is white only the brightness can be controlled via keyboard. The white is nice, but a different white than that on the Logitech G keyboard G513 I have.

I am quite picky about keyboards. I learned on a mechanical typewriter so I like some feedback when I type. This keyboard has a very solid feel right out of the box. The action of the keys produces a satisfying click when a key is depressed. To me this is a positive but for some it could be a negative as silent typing is really not possible. Keep that in mind when ordering. As you can see from my 5 star rating that did not deter me from loving the feel and looks of this device.The cherry red is quite subtle so be aware it wont look like a puddle of blood on your keyboard tray. The various lighting patterns add to an interesting environment.Also the fact it is corded eliminates some of the cons of battery operated devices, it is truly plug and play, just keep in mind this is only as portable as the device you plug it into.For me this falls into the bucket of it just works. It gives me the impression it will last for a long time.Happy typing

I have been using this Mechanical Keyboard for about a week, and I have to say it is a very satisfying experience. The setup was easy and the response of the keys are fast and comfortable while typing. I love the bounce to the keys, and the variations of the backlight patterns is a cool perk to have too. The lighting adds a nice touch to my room. The product feels like it was built with quality materials and does not feel cheap. I would recommend this keyboard to anybody who likes to game and also anyone who just enjoys the feel of mechanical keyboards in general. The keys have a nice sound to them, but are not overly loud and annoying as I know some mech keyboards are. All in all, pretty standard and does the trick

Im not 100 sure who the target audience is for this particular keyboard. The design and onboard features are understated enough to comfortably use at the workplace while the VERY SLIGHT LED flair hints at a more gamery aesthetic. Logitechs own marketing material pretty sums up what you can expect Built for work…ready to play. In the end, Im not sure that Logitech hits a homerun on either count, but Id have to give the nod more to the workers in the audience.As a daily driver, what you get here is a VERY solidly built mechanical keyboard that wouldnt call much attention to itself if you were using it in the workplace. Build quality is solid with a nice, heavy metallic faceplate, a full numpad, a standard set of navigationeditingshortcut keys, a row of function keys with multimedia controls, a pair of stubby 1position risers on the bottom to add a little extra tilt, adjustable LED illumination white only that is actually pretty easy on the eyes as the white light shines through the greytone not black keycaps, and a few incredibly modest LED backlight effects…more on those later. The key profiles are sculpted from the back row to front in a slight Ushaped pattern that slightly decreases reach required to hit keys either above or below the home row. Theres no builtin wrist rest and the design is virtually frameless so it accommodates a complete set of fullsize keys in an otherwise streamlined and smallish feeling package. Power and connectivity is provided for by a single USB connector…it doesnt even need to be a USB 3.0 port The star of the show is, of course, the highquality Cherry MX Red switches below the keycaps themselves. These feel identical to the Cherry MX Reds I have on two other Corsair RGB keyboards…they will provide you with a smooth, satisfyingly clicky but not overloud, linear action that doesnt require too much force or travel to actuate. In all, the K845 keyboard is an outstanding choice for typing performance and comfort that easily holds up to everyday use in a typingheavy environment.But suppose youre now ready to play as the marketing materials would have it…well, then youll get that same wonderful MX Red feeling and durability under your fingers for those few times youre able to launch into a browserbased game at work, or maybe if you want to throw a serious, gamingquality keyboard onto a laptop to bypass its otherwise mushy chicklet keys on top. But thats pretty much it. Logitechs keyboard doesnt come with any special macro keys or a software hub to program keyboard shortcuts or even lighting profiles. Yes, you can adjust the lighting effects and brightness from the keyboard itself, but the effects are somewhat underwhelming given that the LED lighting is white only. Theres solidstatic white, breathing white, perkey reactive lighting, raindrops or random lighting, and a chasing snake effect. The lighting effects do not impact the three standard LED indicators for Numlock, CAPSlock, and Scrolllock, which are the only other LED lights on the entire keyboard not even the Logi logo is backlit. I will definitely give Logitech an E for effort, and if this is the only mechanical keyboard you have, well then theres a least something there to make things look a little more exciting when you actually make the switch from MS Teams to Doom Eternal.If those were the only issues of note, Logitech pretty much nailed what they set out to providea workoriented mechanical keyboard with just barely enough spicy sauce to keep a ravenous gamer at bay. But there are a few items to consider as you weigh the options for your workplacegamerspace. First, the cable is slightly on the shorter side at just under 6 feet those of you who have to snake cables through and around systems furniture or large cubicles may come up slightly short depending on the location of the nearest USB port. The cable is also rubber wrapped rather than braided. While not a dealbreaker, this may contribute to slightly more kinks in the cable over time. However, in fairness, the cable IS slightly thicker than some keyboard cables Ive seen in the past so this may not be as big a problem as it would be for one of those packin keyboards that come with most modern workplace PCs.The font size used on the keycaps is actually a bit on the smallish side…not a problem if youre familiar with the QWERTY keyboard layout of course, but it is something that stood out immediately to me and my wife and kids. This is especially true of the very tiny shifttext that sits next to the numbers that are already noticeably smaller than the lettering used on the rest of the keys. I also find the font choice a bit too industrialstylized for my tastesnone of the letters, numbers or symbols with fully enclosed areas are actually fully enclosed i.e. the Q, B, D, R, , , , 4, 6, 8, 9, etc. all have breaks in the lettering, though oddly, not all of them are split fully down the middle. None of this affects usabilityits not like I dont know where the 6 key went tobut the font just feels a bit off obviously this is an incredibly personal preference. Sadly, there is no passthrough USB port, and Logitech TOTALLY missed the boat by not making the media controlshortcut symbols shinethrough on the bottom of the function keys So where does that leave us The Logitech K845 definitely seems like it is built first and foremost for the workplace…but it does at least use some of the same ingredients that you might find in more hardcore gamingoriented keyboards. If that is enough for you, then this is a pretty reasonably priced keyboard to feature fullfledged Cherry MX Red switches. The fact that nearly all of my observations have nothing to do with performance and function means you can be pretty sure youre getting what youd expect if you were already in the market for a mechanical keyboard without a lot of extra bloat…certainly recommended if you werent looking for something with a bit more splash on the surface or greater capability under the hood.

This keyboard is a very welcome additional to the neverending line up of mechanical keyboards Almost every single design out there is tailored directly towards gaming, nothing fit very well in the business casual market, let alone have a decent entry price. The compact, sleek design of this mechanical keyboard is a refreshing choice and fits perfect in that market.Overall build quality is very solid for the price, you have flagship Cherry MX Red switches, an aluminum bezel that really enhances strength and gives it a good weight, and its packaged in a nice size. While it doesnt have dedicated media keys, the FN function key will shift the top row of function keys into media keys youre used to seeing on a lot of laptops. I prefer dedicated keys for this, but it works well for this design as thats not something I usually need much at work. The builtin backlight can be adjusted through a few different presets and brightness settings using the function keys. The font use is unique, but I didnt find an issue with it. I know where all the keys are on the keyboard without looking so, I dont rely on the visual reference of the labels.The Cherry MX Red switches are more linear and dont have a tactile bump at the bottom of the travel, so depending on how you type, the keyboard can be loud or fairly reserved for a mechanical keyboard. If you can learn how to float the keys as you type, the volume will greatly decrease as theres not a physical click you need to actuate to trigger a key press. The actuation point is part way down the travel, so you dont need to fully bottom out the keys, you can almost dance on the keys as you type. This takes a little getting used to but works well once you master the feel of these switches.Overall, this keyboard is a huge improvement over stock or retail basic plastic keyboards. If youre looking for an inexpensive, solidly built mechanical keyboard, look no further This is a great officecasualbusiness use keyboard and you wont regret it If youre looking for some additional functionality, just look further up the line of Logitechs offering. They have a great selection of mechanical keyboards.

The K845 mechanical keyboard. I opened up the box and its exactly as I expected. A keyboard, a warranty card, and nothing else. This isnt my first Logitech mechanical keyboard, so most if not all my PCs and OsX machines have G Hub installed. No biggie, right WellI fire up an older Windows 10 I5 desktop as it needs a better keyboard. I open G Hub, expecting it to need updated because its been a while since Ive used that unit. Nope, I can open the application and as I click the icon in the taskbar, I can see it ghost offscreen and back to minimize. So, I uninstall the app and download the latest one from Logitech. Tada, it fires up and I good to gonope, G Hub doesnt see the keyboard. Im guessing its too new and not in the latest update. That wouldnt have been an issue, but I wanted to change the backlight color. Its white and I prefer something else. So, I do what everyone does, I Google it. Seems the K845 doesnt change colors. It only has white. Huh, so what does it do. I cant find the keyboard instructions from the support site only the product info. So, Google some more and I see that I have 5 choices of lighting. I can watch it scroll each row, have it light various keys in a pattern, watch them fade from bright to dark, off or as a default, lit. Ill stay with the default. What else does it do Well, I can control the brightness with the FN key and F2. Eh, I leave it at full brightness. So thats really all the lighting features.What I like about the keyboard. It has height adjusters and I like mine with legs fully extended. You can also go halfway and have more of an incline if you prefer. The keys. I love gamingmechanical keyboards. Im older and learned to type on old IBM electric typewriters and most people that see me type mention I bang the keys. Its just the way I was taught. Doing that on a regular PC keyboard is unfulfilling and doesnt give me the response I look for. Im typing this review on a Logitech G513 and I love it. Its my main keyboard. That may change though, as the K845 feels more like an old school keyboard. I make fewer errors on it and the keys just seem more responsive. They also seem more blocky is that a word or not so round and soft. Lastly, I like that the numbers row has backlit the shift options, something the G513 lacks. It has the icons, but only the numbers are backlit.What I dislike about the K845. It doesnt have a passthrough USB. I like to have that available for either my mouse or as a quick open hub. Thats it. The keyboard works for me and if you like the feel of a springloaded keyboard, then this is a pretty decent choice. Id recommend it to my friends.

When I received the Logitech K845ch Mechanical Keyboard with the Cherry Switches, it was to replace a gaming keyboard with many features and a lot of programmable color ranges. When unboxing this keyboard, my first thought was that I would try it out for a while and then go back to my gaming keyboard.However, after spending a week with this keyboard, I have decided to make it my primary keyboard. As a writer, developer, and gamer, I am finding that this devices simplicity, along with the quality and feel, makes this the perfect fit for my needs. I dont need a bunch of fancy colors and colorcoded layouts.Pros Small footprint is perfect for spacedeprived desks. Curved profile of the keys for reducing strain and effort while typing. Heavy enough to prevent desktop creep without being too heavy. 4 Degree normal and 8degree angle with the legs extended. Adjustable white illumination with FN F1F2. Five builtin lighting patterns with FN F12. Works with both Mac and Windows. Red mechanical switches are smooth without the heavy click of other switches. Textured keycaps. Clear and descriptive font. Quality construction with brushed aluminum top and plastic base.Cons Does not work with the Logitech GHub software. Only one lighting color white.SummaryThe quality and simplicity of this keyboard surprised me. Its the perfect keyboard for my range of writing, programming, and gaming.

This keyboard is a wonderful medium between Logitechs nonlighted linear mechanical keyboards, and the fullon RGB backlit series. The keys are all nice and evenly lit, the mechanical linear action is what youre after if youre looking at these kinds of keyboards, and the aluminum construction feels nice and solid. I was a little surprised that this keyboard manages the backlight using on keyboard keys when I already had the software installed to manage my other Logitech backlit products. This is actually probably easier. I HAVE to have a full number pad to use my computer for nongaming things, and this keyboard fits that bill. I expected some of the niceties that Logitech includes on other keyboards like a large scroll bar volumepage scroll control, and the aluminum body appears to only be aluminum on top. Granted this is where it matters, but it makes for less mass and the keyboard feels lighter weight than you would expect. Also, a nontraditional typeface on the keys coupled with dimmed backlight may mean its difficult to tell which key is which in the dark.Given those 2 minor complaints I dinged this keyboard down one star to 4, but otherwise its perfect for me.

Purchased this for office use Im a light typer and the overall noise is good. Could be too loud for cubicle area, but if solo in an office, this is a great choice. Quality is excellent, and the lighting isnt too bright which is nice. Had some compliments with the visuals on it.Only negative is that it is a wired keyboard. Also doesnt come with wrist rest, but after buying one, is is awesome.Tip i bought super lube from amazon, and a keycap puller, and have lubed every key. Not only is it quieter, man, does it type silky smooth.Quality of the keyboard is excellent, mx cherry red is the way to go for office use.

Wow. I dont have carpal tunnel. Yet. But I do type a lot. I usually have to stop all the time during the time I type on my keyboard to relax or stretch my arms and hands. With this keyboard I feel like I can go hours without having to stop. What a difference and it shows that quality and a brand that utilizes RD will produce something that will benefit to your everyday life. Keys are very well built and the back lighting is on par. The only complaint I have is if the light is not on its a little harder to see what the keys say. The only reason I was reading what the keys letters, numbers, and symbols is because I was learning the new placement of the keys adjusting from my previous keyboard. Once I get it though Ill never notice. Really a great product and will improve your typing and gaming experience with product that will definitely last awhile quality wise.

Overall this keyboard is good for the price. The switches are consistent however the lighting is subpar in my eyes. The lack of an adjustable wire, dedicated media controls, and even a small wrist rest was quite disappointing but did not take away from the feel of the keyboard. If you are looking for an entrylevel mechanical keyboard, and do not care about lighting, media keys, or wrist rest, this is a nice keyboard. It feels good to type on and the red switches do feel similar to a cherry MX red switch. If you can splurge more for your keyboard, go get a higherend model like a razer Blackwidow tenkeyless, or a higherend Logitech keyboard.

Over the last several years, I have gravitated to a more quiet environment versus loud peripherals such as this keyboard. However, Ive made an exception for this. It is extremely well built and feels great to type on.It brings me back to the older days when the keyboards that were typically provided from IBM, HP, etc. were loud and clanky however, those were plastic and you could tell that the quality wasnt great. This one is different for sure. The aluminum construction and heavy plastic keys really make this feel like a quality device. The USB cable to connect it is definitely long enough for any desk setup.What puts the final touch on this are the illumination options. There are five including off, low, high, snake or caterpillar type and finally blinking similar to a cityscape. When playing a game or doing some real work, this keyboard is one that just about anyone would enjoy using.

This is an upgrade for a very cheap keyboard that came with a PC I bought close to 10 years ago. And oh boy what an upgrade. The keys are very tactile and comfortable. It does take a little getting used to though because the keys a very sensitive in comparison to a typically keyboard.It also looks like the pieces under the key housing is plastic, so I worry about the durability of the product a little bit, but overall it seems well built.

It takes just a little time to get used to this keyboard. Its a great keyboard, but most of us are used to the shorter throw cheap keyboards that come with the typical desktop computer. Laptops and portable devices dont have room for more than membrane keys, and many highend computers have keyboards designed more for appearance more than function. A mechanical board has a totally different feel and look. The feel is a bit reminiscent of the old, bulletproof IBM keyboards from back when more money was spent on the human interface. Gamers are about the only among us who understand the advantages of mechanical keys. They are nearly indestructible they are fast, and they give feedback so you know the key has been pressed. And they have a sound to them.True to a gaming heritage, this keyboard is available with a choice of different switches or keys. You can choose quiet, clicky, in between, and also real Cherry brand switches for a bit more. That said, this is not designed primarily for gamers. There is no programming, no software suite with special drivers, and no exotic RGB lights. Yes, its lighted and has several fixed and motion modes to choose from, but thats it, and they are only white. You plug it in and use it. Thats all. This is aimed at the serious computer user who spends lots of time at the keyboard and wants accuracy and comfort. Plus, a capable gaming keyboard.The build quality is very good. It feels like it has been made to last, and the aluminum base is cool in an understated way, and with its raised keys, it makes a definite visual statement sitting on your desk. Its a fullsize keyboard with a Numpad yet fairly compact at 17 x 5, but its heavy enough to stay put. I got the Cherry red keys, and although they are considered smooth switches, theres a definite click. However, its not so loud that in an office environment your associates will think youve taken up tap dancing. As it should be for a production or gaming board, the F1F12 function keys are the default, and the alternate controls are triggered by the Fn key.If you want a topnotch production keyboard thats also great for gaming, and a little noise isnt a problem, this is an excellent choice.

Ive been using the Logitech K845 cherry version for a few days and actually typing on it now. Simply Wow First off this is a gaming quality keyboard thanks to the Cherry switches. What I mean is it is backlit white, but not any crazy colors. It does have breathing patterns, but theyre all controlled via the keyboard itself no 3rd party software required. Which makes it GREAT because in a business setting where I plan to use this you often cant install custom drivers.Typing on this is a dream and beats my awful chiclet keyboard on my laptop. The K845 also has proper height adjustment with little legs that pop out. Its full size but its surprisingly compact.Build quality is solid… It feels and looks superpremium. The connection is via wired USB A. The cord is plastic but I prefer braided nylon but other than that hard to fault.And while its not a gaming keyboard with multicolored LEDs, its brilliant for gaming use as Cherry switches are super fast and responsive.Tips.to adjust the keyboard brightening using the FN F1 or F2 keys.to get some light effects, cycle through the options using FN F12

Simple but functional. Sturdy build quality and function keys work across Operating Systems, including various Linux Distros.Board isnt RGB, and raised caps mean the light is cast onto the backplate. This design is a personal preference of mine, and the allwhite lights look sleek. But dont expect massive lighting effects from GHub. You get the boxed Snake, Keystroke, Random, and Full lights and nothing else.Make sure to doublecheck the keyswitches before you buy. Was expecting MX Brown, but board was actually TTC Reds.

I have received this keyboard from Logitech for the purpose of this review.This keyboard offers Cherry MX Red switches for its keys. These are linear keys that provide a nice feel to the typing experience. There are 5 key switch types to choose from when looking at this keyboard. There are three of Logitechs own switch types Linearred, Clickyblue and, Tactilebrown as well as those switches offered by Cherry, the MX Red linear and the MX Blue clickyThe linear switches offer feedback only when fully depressed as the others there is a bump feel partway through the keypress.As far as backlight this keyboard only lights up white, not a fan of this as it has an odd glare at the bottom of my glasses. You can, however, lower or raise the brightness of the backlight with three levels of brightness. I found the lowest level to be the most comfortable. There are also 5 patterns of lighting static, serpent, reactive, random, and breathing. Static keeps the keys at the same level of brightness, serpent Has a lower level of brightness with a slightly brighter pattern that moves from left to right across each row of keys, reactive is similar with a low level of light until you start typing and the keys you press get brighter after you press them then dim again, random again had a low level of brightness until the random keys are lit, finally, there is breathing which cycles from low to the highest level of brightness the key is set for.This is not a nice as a color like red or blue or even full RGB lighting, but it does help in dimlit or dark rooms.The keycaps themselves are very similar to those found of keyboards from the early PC days and most modern gaming keyboards, curved with a slight concave shape to them so that your fingers come to rest in the center of each key that is pressed. The home row keys f and j have slightly raised lines that allow you to find them when not hunting and pecking for the keys. This is found on almost all keyboards that I have used.Although this is not marketed as a gaming keyboard, it is built similar to other gaming keyboards I have used. Not sure how well it will perform in a gaming scenario because I have not tested it out in that aspect.This has to be one of the smallest fullsize keyboards that I have used. The design is very compact. The key switches are all above the top of the keyboard as opposed to recessed. This feature allows for easier cleaning between the keys. The top of the keyboard is aluminum with a silver finish to it. The function keys are all dualpurpose and use the Fn button of their second function. Overall, this is a great keyboard. I love that it is backlit, even though I dont used that feature that much. It also has various settings for the light, so you can customize how you use it or turn it off for those who care. I wanted to replace an old basic keyboard, but also wanted the touch type feel because I write a lot. Newer keyboards dont offer that same feel. This one is heavier than the basic keyboards you get with computers which is good. It stays put and doesnt slide on my desk. It has brightness and volume controls in the function keys as well as a calculator. Overall, I love this. My only negative is how loud it is compared to others. I tend to not notice it now, but it was a bit jarring when I first used it.

The K845 from Logitech is a wonderful keyboard for gaming and typing on a budget, but there are some flaws. The switches that came with mine TTC Red linear have a little twang noise whenever the key is pressed, and are a tiny bit scratchy. The stabilizers are also a little on the wobbly side, but I had no trouble typing on it. Note that the keycaps pick up fingerprints very easily due to them being abs plastic. The sound is as what you would think for a red switch keyboard of this price, and is fairly quiet, and considering that this keyboard is meant for office use, its a great keyboard for typing and gaming, especially for the price, and I look forward to using it. do note if you are looking for a gaming keyboard, try to spring for the cherry version of this keyboard, or splurge on a higher quality keyboard.

The keyboard Im writing about is the red switches model, this is the linear model. And I love the sound of the key clicks as I type. Maybe its a throw back thing, maybe its the feeling that I am accomplishing something as I type. Maybe it is just a comfort thing. But I love the sound that you get from this. Just like some of the original IBM PCXT or PCAT keyboards. Back when keyboards cost hundreds of dollars. And they didnt even have a backlight.Fast forward to this, and Logitech again comes up with a home run. This thing is cool in many different ways. The aluminum plate design, looks cool but is functional too to protect the keyboard from impacts. The lights on the keyboard help you to see what you are typing but also provide you with some different patterns. There are 5 of them most notably on steady, a run through all of the keys one key at a time, and the breathing mode. All are cool and something will strike your fancy. My favorite is just on all the time.This is a comfortable keyboard to type on and I took time to write a long paper using this, before I came up with this comment. By the time Im done with a paper of this length, my MacBook makes me want to use a real keyboard. This keyboard didnt make my hands and fingers hurt. Funny thing, I used this on my MacBook and it worked great You have to know the Mac shortcuts as this is designed for Windows, it worked fine on my MacBook.What I like about this most of all is that it is a full sized keyboard, with a numeric keypad attached, yet it is somewhat compact. Certainly not the size of those old keyboards and that is a good thingYoull love this Im sure, it is a satisfying experience to type on it, it looks great, has excellent backlighting, and frankly it is a Logitech, so it will last. They say the keys were tested for 50 million keystrokes, and I believe it, but I just know Logitech stuff never lets me down.

So before the days of wireless keyboards, we had BIG clunky, oversized clicking keyboards. This is what a LOT of us used for many years. And well, sometimes that is just what is needed now a days.this little beauty isnt BIG or Clunky. It hits the mark, with a little polish that is appreciated.First and foremost, you are NOT getting a wireless job here. no batteries, no dongles. Just an average sized USB cord to plug into an open slot. It is a USB2 style plug, compatible with most computers. But if you are going onto a newer laptop or MacBook you will need an adapter for USBC. nothing new there.It doesnt have a lot of extra plastic so it takes up a bare minimum of space on your desk or keyboard tray.Once it fires up, you will see a very wonderful display of lights, kinda of like it warming up and ready for use.When utilizing it, took me about 15 minutes or so to get use to the higher keys, as compared to my Logitech bluetooth keyboard.. but once I made the adjustments, so nice.The keys give direct feedback to your fingers while typing, there is no mistaking when you push a button down and it pushes back. Feels great to the touch. with in minutes I was back up to full speed typing, and just flowing.Functionally this is great, with a full keypad and other function buttons as well…What I really appreciated about the keyboard, was the look of it. It just looks old school and modern at the same time. I miss that.If you are just tired of the cheap, thin feeling, wireless keyboards out there… give this one a try..Now… I already know what my plans are for this one… It may get a little TLC, and painted to look a little more mechanicalsteampunk.. but that is a personal preference thing… and this keyboard gives me that opportunity to do a little bling to it.

This is a great backlit mechanical key mechanism keyboard.Bear in mind there are two major manufacturers of mechanical key switches, and they sell three different varieties which are categorized by color blue, brown, and red. This keyboard uses the red keys, which in theory are the quietest option. However, mechanical keys have always been noisy even back in the day when that was the only kind of mechanism produced, and this keyboard offers no enclosure around the key switch mechanisms, so to whatever extent such a case would have a muting effect, this product is just that much louder.Mechanical keyboards are really oriented and marketed towards two specific groups of people and sometimes these overlap those who type a lot perhaps for work, perhaps they write a lot of code and gamers, who want the best possible response time and the knowledge that no matter how much they bang away on any of the keys, they wont wear them out overnight.Ultimately, I returned this keyboard because I dont fit either of those use cases, and frankly I found the noise to be really irritating and distracting. However, I wrote this review with all the positives first because it would be wrong to simply say Oh, its soooo loud I couldnt stand it If you need or want super longevity in a keyboard, then this is the kind of keyboard you should get. As long as the sound it makes isnt a bother, then youll probably love it and keep it forever.

First off, the build quality on this keyboard is great. High quality look and feel, with an aluminum top of the keyboard looks and feels great. The cherry red switches are quiet and dont require much force, so you can type quietly and accurately. The buttons are backlit, with 5 different light patters and multiple brightness settings, but there are no color options. You can adjust the angle of the keyboard with the attacked legs on the back corners, with multiple angle options.Overall, this is just a very user friendly and well made USB keyboard. Its versatile design make it a great option for casual use or serious gaming. The only real downside is no included wrist support pad included. Highly recommended.

This keyboard did exactly what I wanted. Replaced an old Dell keyboard, but I wanted the same button layout, spacing and footprint so that I had a seamless transition. Logitech had a great website for the various types of mechanical keys, the sounds they make and the resistance required with each keystroke. Based on that information, I selected the keyboard with brown switches.Backlighting is only in white, but has various modes. I just keep it on the standard setting because I really dont care about lighting, but cant see the letters on the keys well without the lighting on. The only downside to the keyboard is that the font used is a little hard to read on the keys for letters, numbers and symbols. Some are fine to read and look normal, but then things like the ampersand are just stupid.

I wanted to upgrade to a backlit keyboard. This was one of the more inexpensive but it had the standard 104 keys and a white backlight so I gave it a try. I got the brown switches which are supposed to be tactile but felt almost linear. This was not a problem. The keyboard is quite thick and could stand to provide a wrist rest because your hands are bent more than normal. The LEDs indicating lock keys are enabled are quite bright and do not dim when you dim the backlight for the keys. But for me, what really makes this a deal breaker is there in no software support whatsoever. You can not even find this keyboard on the Logitech support website. The keyboard works just fine but without software support, I can not customize macros to keys as I otherwise do.

Ive purchased and used the K845 with red, brown and Cherry red switches. This review is for all three products.The keyboard construction overall is excellent. It has a nice mediumdark aluminum face that gives the keyboard a very clean and modern look. It has indicator lights for num lock, caps lock and scroll lock, and the windows key can be locked out for game play. The lighting for the keyboard has a few pattern options, but all are useless gimmicks except for the solid pattern. There are 4 levels of brightness including off.The standard red switches are from TTC. The red TTC switches are quite good, giving a feel almost identical to the Cherrry red switches except that they seemed just a tad lighter to the touch. The TTC had good lateral support and little wobble or wiggle when actuated almost identical to the Cherry red switches. Other than feeling slightly lighter, I could not distinguish between the TTC red and the Cherry red in actual use. I was happily surprised by the performance of the TTC key switches. Lighting for the keyboard was also very good the LED light was a pure white with only a small amount of light bleed around the keys when compared to the Cherry red version see below.The standard brown switches are also TTC, however I did not care for them. My main complaint with the brown switches is the variability of feel between different keys, or even the same key when pressed differently. In examining the design of the brown keys I can see that this is likely the result of tolerances that would be difficult to control in manufacturing. The browns have only a very small bump on the actuator that provides the tactile feedback this bump is so small that any play in the actuator can significantly alter the feel of the keystroke. I have a feeling that the Cherry keys might have the same issue, although they could also have better control over manufacturing tolerances that would minimize the problem. However, as noted above I found the tolerances to be quite good on the red TTC switches. Lighting was identical as for the TTC red switch keyboard version.The Cherry red keys felt nearly identical to the TTC red, and have an excellent reputation for quality. The keys had good lateral support, as did the TTC red keys. However, the keyboard lighting was inferior to the TTC switch version. The TTC switch assembly tops were a very clear plastic that transmitted the LED light well to the underside of the key cap. However, the Cherry switch top was not as clear, resulting in a scattering of the light and thus much more light bleed around the key caps. The plastic switch top of the Cherry switches also imparted a slight greenishyellow hue to the bleed light that did not match the white color of the key cap lettering. Overall, it was not as aesthetically pleasing as the TTC red version of the keyboard.Overall, the basic TTC red key switch version is an excellent value. The Cherry red key switch version is also an excellent value, but in actual use I prefer the standard TTC red key switch version.

I received this product in exchange for my fair and honest opinion.Logitechs K845 is a prime example of where the hardware is awesome but the user experience comes up just short of perfect. You have super smooth linear mechanical switches in the keyboard instead of the typical membrane domes you find in most nongaming keyboards that lead to a typing experience better than pretty much any keyboard that comes standard with a desktop or allinone computer today. You get the added bonus of backlighting that has multiple modes and is set by a hotkey as to what mode its using solidly lit, brightonstroke, chasing backlight, twinkling backlight, and breathing backlight. Is it noisier than the keyboard that comes with your desktop or AIO PC Yes. But its a good tradeoff as its not as loud as most mechanical keyboards, especially those with the clicky switches.Where it comes up short is the settings are all handled in a very unintuitive way on the keyboard you press FNF12 to change the backlight mode. This could have been done in software instead, especially since the backlighting is individually addressable which could have made for neat user settings.All in all, its a great keyboard but it just gets held back in the user experience. If the backlighting was softwarecontrolled instead of hotkeycontrolled, it would be a much better user experience. I can still recommend it though as its not superflashy like the majority of backlit keyboards are.

for the price, its a great keyboard. not RGB so if looking for a RGB this is not for you. from space bar towards the top of keyboard its shorter then all of my other keyboards. so it takes up less space that way, as well as from side to side its not as wide compared to other keyboards with a 10 key.some things that i dont like. the lighting, first like i mentioned its not RGB. at the time i am writing this, the logitech G hub software was also not picking it up and could not find anything on site. this could be because its new. so hoping they get that fixed. even tried updating software. also with the lighting is it only eliminates the main keys so like 1,2,3 etc but not the secondary part of the key or the FN function so like ,, etc. so if dark its hard to see those keys. this is a big one for me because this keyboard uses the shift part or the FN keys for the multimedia key functions. so for instance F7 is illuminated but the playpause part on that key is not. the cord is hard wired, like i said not to big a deal, but i wish they would just make all of their stuff with a plug and play style so that you can easily just unplug and plug in.I do love how it feels, i love that its smaller. the keys have tiny bumps on them so to speak so it feels great for me. the keys are clicky but not to loud compared to other mechanical switches. the click is basically from pressing the key all the way down. the keys actuate about halfway. but dont give a click sound when the key actuates. i like that as it does not get as loud. the lighting is just white and lights up well, other then what i already said about it.the keyboard is great for both gaming and if you type everyday. and for a keyboard i dont care myself if its wireless or not so this keyboard being wired does not bother me.if you dont mind not having RGB, or wireless then its a great keyboard. and i recommend it especially if you are looking for a mechanical keyboard under 100.

I love it.I also tried logitech GX Blue clicky but I didnt like it, it was to noisy for me.One request to best buy to have some sample keyboard available for logitech Mechanical keyboards. That way buyer can check it instead of purchasing and then returning if they dont like I have returning expensive items after opening it.

This a very good keyboard both for everyday functionswriting, etc.and a good middle of the road board for gaming. The keys are much more sensitive than your standard el cheapo keyboard, but this is great for gaming once youre used to the more sensitive keystrokes. As other reviewers have noted, as a mechanicalmetallic keyboard, theres a clicktapping sound with every keystroke that is reminiscent of the sound a typewriter makes. This might be annoying to some, but its strangely comforting and relaxing to me.

This is a beautifully made keyboard. The look of it complements my modern desk. More than the look itself though, this keyboard is not your typical keyboard. The build is very leanyou get all the keys of a full keyboard but the size is compact. It does not take up too much space on my desk. Given its compact build, the spaces between keys are very reasonable distanced. I have averagesized hands and I do not have any issues typing. It is also very wellbuilt. The lines, the quality of the keys, the base of the keyboard, are all crisp and elegantly made. The typing quality has some reasonable noise to it and the ride to the response click is a little far for my taste especially that I am used to keyboard covers. However, there is some soothing feel to the typethe feedback is, as I would say, partially addicting. The clicks as you press the keys are very engaging while the bounce is smooth. It makes me want to keep typing. The lighting effects are pretty cool toobut of course, that is only icing on the cake.This keyboard is complete it responds well, it looks good and is compact. This is a great addition for WFH setups.

Bought this as a gift for a family member. I had already purchased this keyboard to use at work, because I love mechanical keyboards. I have a Corsair K68 with Red switches at home and I just love it Every keystroke is registered, and with gaming you dont get any freezeups when pressing multiple WASD and Space keys. With the Logitech, the feeling of the keystrokes is what I mainly adore at work. Not only does it make me feel more productive, it just feels more comfortable to me rather than the mushy tactile HP keyboards they provide.This Logitech uses their RomerG switches. They feel like Red switches, but are a bit louder.I particularly like the aesthetics of it the aluminum casing is minimalistic and looks like it belongs on an office desk. Matches well with the M720 mouse.

The action is smooth and responsive. It is an excellent choice for fast typist. Because it is mechanical, it does make a sound. Those who grew up with typewriters will like that. My favorite keyboard right now is the Logitech G513. It has great feel and keyboard travel, much like the vaunted old IBM keyboards. But like the IBM keyboard, its a very loud clicky sounding keyboard. I wanted that feel for my work PC, but without the gaming keyboard price.The K845 Mechanical Linear Keyboard meets the need. It has much of the same feel of my beloved G513 clicky keyboard without breaking the bank. Yes, this K845 has real mechanical switches at this price. A great deal. The mushy pillow feeling most OEM keyboards have just dont cut it when you type fast and need that precision feel to keep typing fast. This has the same full size keyboard spacing, keycap shape, key travel, and feel of my favorite keyboard. If you ever used a typewriter, this keyboard will feel comfortable, not at all like the basic keyboards that ship with PCs.This keyboard is well made. The aluminum top provides a good solid base that resists flexing. It has a minimal footprint, barely larger than the keycaps. To get any smaller, the keycaps and spacing would need to shrink. Thats a hard adjustment for heavy typist. The keyboard legs let can choose between a 4 and 8 degree keyboard angle. The mechanical keys are tall, taller than most OEM keyboards to allow for keystroke travel. The feel of these tall keys is so much better. The thin cable is about 6feet long. Setup is plug and play on Windows 7 and above. There is no software available from Logitech, all features such as lighting are controlled solely by using the FN keys.The letters should not wear off and the keycaps are not printed with the font. The fonts are more translucent so that they let the LED backlighting light them up. When not lit, the font appears grey on a black keycap. A bit hard to make out, but not a concern since the keys light up. The keyboard has three levels of LED lighting adjusted using the FN keys. Not only is the font on the keycaps lit, but there is also a glow from the bottoms of the keycaps that light the base with a pleasant even background glow. The intensity of the background glow adjusts with the light level chosen so that it does not detract from the keycaps lighting. Unlike my gaming keyboard, lighting is limited to white, which suits office work.But its not bare bones work. In addition to having all keys remain evenly lit static, there are four other lighting affects you can choose from. Random The keycaps can be set to twinkle randomly regardless of your typing. If you wish to break yourself of looking at the keyboard and being more a touch typist, this can help break that habit. Or you can torture any visual typist using your keyboard. Reactive Set the keyboard lighting to a very low light level and then momentarily brightly light the keys as you press them with a bit of trailing light after you release them. Serpent Set the keys to light in sequence with the lit keys snaking its way down and across through all the keys. Breathing The keyboard lights be set to slowly fade in and out as if it is breathing.There are also FN keys to launch Calculator and start a media program go forwardback a track and adjust volume.The K845 is a solid and attractive keyboard for the heavy or precision typist. During my short time with it, this Logitech K845 has been mostly a joy to use. Mine came with Red linear switches, which are smooth and very pleasant to type on, providing a perfect throw and the classic sound of a mechanical keyboard. I was a computer user throughout the late 80s and 90s, and this keyboard brings me right back to some of the best I used back then. Ive typed several thousands of words on this board at work and played a few hours of games to test its function, and Ive been impressed at the comfort and feel so far.UNLIKE keyboards from the 80s and 90s, the K845 features keys that float above the keyboards surface, making it easier to clean and giving it a smart look. One advantage of this design is it makes the keyboard very compact, with bezels around the edges of the keys of only about a quarter of an inch. The floating design also has the additional benefit of creating a neat little cradle above the arrow keys where I like to rest my fingers while rereading what Ive written.The surface of the board is made of a really nice faintly textured aluminum that lends a really highquality feel, while the bottom is made of black plastic with roughly the same texture. Small feet on the back rear can be flipped up to change the elevation of the keyboards surface from 4 to 8. I like 8, as it perfectly rises where my upperrow fingers fall.The backlight has 4 levels Off, 1, 2, and 3, and is pleasant to use during the daytime or at night. Pressing FnF12 cycles through 5 lighting patterns Reaction, Breathing Light, Random, Greedy Snake, and Static. In my opinion, the settings other than static are little more than a novelty, and not really useful at all. Random is perhaps the most interesting, as it sets up a twinkling look reminiscent of the Matrix or something. I could see myself setting Random if I was going AFK but working in the same room, as kind of a keyboard screensaver light show.Now for the gripesFirst, the function keys are labeled with printed icons that indicate what they do, meaning the backlight does not shine through them. This makes it difficult to see their function in a darkened room, meaning Ill have to memorize what they do and squint at them until I do. Its not going to be a longterm problem, but it is mildly annoying for now, and mars what is otherwise a nice backlight setup.Second, the NumCapsScroll Lock indicator lights do not fade as you adjust the brightness on the rest of the keys, meaning you could have the keys set to their dimmest and still have a glaring bright with LED shining at you from just over your right hand. This to me is a pretty major annoyance, and it means Ill likely have to put a piece of Scotch tape over them to not be constantly bothered in a dimlylit room.Finally, and perhaps the most minor gripe, is that the font is not my favorite, and the cutouts on some of the number key alternate characters do not look good. For example, the symbol has a cutout on the top, and the ampersand has two cutouts on the top and right, making it look like two wrenches held together see images. Its a minor annoyance and wont affect my longterm enjoyment, but something that I would change if I were the designer.The bottom line is the K845 fits great on my desk, feels great to use, and features a backlight that makes it easy to use in a dimly lit room with some mildly playful light show features. Itll be good for you if youre seeking the classic typing feel of a linear switch and compact, nicelooking keyboard that fits anywhere you want to put it.

I have been a Logitech fan for many years and I am pleased to see that the company is still striving for perfection This Logitech Keyboard feels and looks very high quality and is a joy to use. I have quite a few keyboards and this one seems to be built better than any of the other ones. Not that they are all bad this thing just feels very solid and at the same time smooth and responsive while typing.From the Aluminum frame to the keys everything about the Logitech K845ch build quality is topnotch. I also appreciate the backlighting and while the choice of lighting effects is cool I prefer full brightness and normal lighting mode. By pressing FN and F1 simultaneously that decreases the brightness and by doing the same with FN and F2 that increases the brightness while FN and F12 together rotate you through the different lighting effect choices. Also, built into the F keys FN F5F10 are secondary multimedia controls for play pause volume etc. as well as F3 being a shortcut to search and F4 a Windows Calculator shortcut. The only improvement I would like to see is backlighting for the secondary functions of the Fn keys however I am sure they will be stored in your memory over time if used periodically.If you are a person that is looking for a highquality mechanical keyboard this Logitech cherry mx red linear keyboard offers a smooth and quiet experience. I honestly do not think you could do better than this Logitech especially in the price range of around 80. Additionally, I also feel like that it is a good deal for that price when you consider the quality and build of what you are getting.

I was excited to get another Logitech keyboard, specifically to use at work. I already have a Logitech illuminated gaming keyboard which is similar but the keys were too noisy to use in a shared office.This K845 comes with the Red Linear switches which are supposedly smooth but quiet. They are still a little on the loud side for me but my workmates have not complained about the tapdancing sounds yet.Key strokes are smooth and precise and as a fast touchtypist, I have no complaints on using the keyboard. The layout of keys is good and I particularly like having obvious controls for music and videos volume, play, pause etc. A separate numeric keypad is a good addition too. The keyboard is comfortable to type on for long periods although it could have done with including a wrist pad. I was able to take the one I got with the gaming keyboard and use it with this one which is a slight improvement. Even with so many keys on a compact base, I dont find the keyboard crowded and it is nice to free up some valuable real estate on my desk, without losing any features.The illumination feature is adequate but I was disappointed not to have the same level of lighting control as the gaming keyboard I own. You get to cycle through a few preset light configs but cant create your own or find setups other have created. I shouldnt complain as this keyboard is designed for office use and not gaming specifically but I had got spoiled from the other Logitech keyboard and mouse I own. If I forget that for second, the keys do light up well and you would have no problems using it in lowlight conditions.I have a similar complaint with my gaming keyboard but I wish it was possible to have the functions on the keys lit as well. For example, to change the volume or playpause, those features are on function keys at the top of the keyboard and only the F7, F9 etc. part of the key is actually lit. It would be great if when you held down the lit FN key, the function part lit up on the function keys.Included functions are brightness control, search, calculator, default music player, skip back, playpause, skip forward, mute, volume down, volume up and light control for the keyboard. I like to have the brightness on the keys fade in and out slowly the other features seemed a bit busy but this one strikes a nice balance for my work environment eye catching but not distracting. I think Logitech call this one Breathing which seems apt for the pace of light change.The K845 is an attractive keyboard and looks much more durable than the plastic keyboard that came with my office computer. It is made of aluminum and the switches seem much more robust than standard plastic keys.In closing, I find this a huge step up from the original keyboard that came with my office computer and I find myself typing much more accurately now. I had already got rid of a wireless keyboard as it seemed to lose keystrokes and even the basic wired keyboard was doing that now and again. The K845 does not lose anything so far and I am looking forward to using it in my job for some years to come.

The Logitech K845 is a Mechanical Illuminated keyboard. By going with a mechanical keyboard, there are five key switch options, so the user can select the one that fits their typing preference. The Red Linear is the most commonly used switch, allowing for smooth typing and a fast response time. I can type quickly with this and it feels comfortable to use. The switches and the metal base they sit in are sturdy and seem like this keyboard will last for a long time.It seems taller than some, but it is more the impression given because it has no extra space around the keys, just what it needs to hold them. It takes up less space on my desk, which is great there is never enough room for all the peripherals and other items needed for work. My previous keyboard is much bigger, and I like that this gives me the extra space. It is wired, so theres no need to worry about connection issues. I just plugged it in and it worked right away. While it is not much bigger than a compact keyboard, this one still has full size keys and the ten key number pad on the side, with feet that can be used to lift it a little. It has little pads that seem to grip the desk. This enables faster typing because it wont slide around.A feature that is for show rather than functionality is the illumination. It doesnt help me type any faster, but I like the option for backlit keys. The F12 function key lets you choose between five different backlighting patterns, and the F1 and F2 can lower or increase the brightness of the lighting. It doesnt have other colors, but its nice to have a little fun with the illumination, especially if Im using it in a lower light setting. The function keys can be used for other things, like watching videos or listening to music.Id say this is 4.5 stars, its solidly built and does what its meant to, but a little clicky for me. I would probably get the Brown Tactile Switch version of the K845 if I had it to do differently, as the description says its quieter. My recommendation is to think about and read about which one fits you, and select the switch based on that. Its light on frills and additional features, but I like that it is illuminated, doesnt take up a lot of space, and is solidly made.

I use my computer a lot for both work and gaming. I started noticing that using the same keyboard for both gaming and work which is a lot of typing was exhausting on my hands and wrists since I have to hold my hands differently when I type compared to gaming using a keyboard and mouse.I decided that I need a keyboard that would be dedicated to typing. I opted for the Logitech K845 Mechanical Keyboard. Its a night and day differenceAppearanceThe Logitech K845 is pretty much a streamlined keyboard that doesnt have a bunch of bells and whistles that are seen in other keyboards and might be overwhelming for some users. The Logitech is a clean aluminum design and is ready right out of the box without having to download the software needed for configuration. This keyboard isnt cumbersome and should not upset your current desk space. Upon plugging in the keyboard, it lights up with a wonderful pattern of illumination. Changing the light patterns is EASY with the press of the Fn button and then cycling through with the F12 key. The five backlight pattern choices are Breathing, Serpent, Random, Reactive, and Static. I personally like Reactive. The backlight of the Logitech is soft and subtle and wont overwhelm your office or gaming space.ResponseTyping on the K845 is wonderful as I can feel each of the mechanical clicks with each stroke of the keys. This something that is comforting to someone such as myself. Little pleasures and all. The keys feel strong with each use and wont be wearing down anytime soon. You feel the connection with each stroke. There are two feet located underneath that you can flip down and have the keyboard be angled. With the feet activated, I found that my wrists were not being strained as much as my previous keyboard.GamingYes, the K845 keyboard can satisfy your gaming needs because of its mechanical keys that let you know that youve executed those important keystrokes that can be ever so important in your gaming moments. Though I had intended this Logitech keyboard to be for worktyping only, I dont feel compelled to switch it out when I decide to play a few sessions of some games that require precise access to a hotkey command. Good keyboard for the price. Keys feel really good and arent super clicky I chose Brown Switches. The keys feel comfortable and give a good feeling when pushed so I know I pushed a key.The backlighting is just what I needed. Mostly you just see the characters lighting up, but there is a bit of light underneath. The face plate is a silver color that spreads the light so it isnt intense beneath the keys.I dont know who would need some of these lighting effects. The only one I really care for is the one that lights up each key you press, but the others are neat for a few seconds. Also, like others have mentioned, the Scroll lockNum lockCaps lock lights cannot be dimmed and are pretty intense. I think thats the only thing I dislike about this.The keys all have a custom font, which doesnt make them look too different from normal, but adds a bit of style.

The Logitech K845 is beautiful and modern looking. I love the steel grey color and look of the board and keys. The keyboard feels very strong and well built. Logitech claims that it has been tested to last 50 million clicks. Seems Legit. This keyboard feels like it will definitely outlive your computer. It has kickstands so you can tilt it up, they are stable and have rubber feet to keep the keyboard from sliding. The keyboard backlight has a nice glow that lights up the keys well without being too bright. The keys are pretty big, raised and well spaced. They have very good travel with a satisfying click. The sound honestly reminds me of the good old fashioned keyboards I learned to type on in school. It was very simple to set up, literally just plug it into a usb port and its ready to go in seconds. No drivers to download.I was pleasantly surprised by the different lighting effect options. You can toggle through different settings by pressing the FN key and F12. My personal favorite is the setting that lights up the keys are you press them.. lol Its a gimmick but it made me smile.Be patient with it when you first start using it. Youll have to find a typing position that works for you. I made so many errors and miss clicks for the first 5 minutes of use with this keyboard. I think that mostly has to do with the fact that I am used to typing on a flat laptop keyboard. You have to adjust to the high keys and not having a palm rest. I did not try gaming with this keyboard because my desktop computer honestly cant run anything other than minecraft and solitaire so I cant comment on gaming with this.I think most people would be pleased with this keyboard after taking the time to get used to it. I like its compact form , large keys and it has been comfortable to type on.

I took it cross country with me and have logged about 200 hours on it and havent experienced any problems yet. I personally find the clicky clacky very soothing. Its a noisy keyboard. The action on this keyboard is smooth as to be expected with red switches. Red switches have a linear travel, meaning that when you press the key, you push through a smooth stroke without any tactile bump or click to overcome. This keyboard should be an amazing transition for anyone coming from a membrane keyboard that most cheaper keyboards are supplied with.The key caps have a tacky feel to themmade of a porous plastic material. I actually enjoy the porous feel as it keeps your fingers from slipping off too easily in conjunction with a good, sloped angle to the keycaps. It also supplies the keyboard with a more subdued, matte look as opposed to a shinier finish. This to me, along with the white backlighting is more indicative of a professional or mature office setting. However, with the combination of the FN key F12, you can cycle through five different fun lighting patterns to spice it up a little bit. I particularly enjoy the starlight random effect that lights up random keys individually as this looks good on the mattegray keys against the aluminum deck.The keyboard deck as I said is an aluminum material, giving this keyboard a highquality look. However, this is not the brushed aluminum of the more expensive counterparts in the Logitech lineup. Logitech does well stratifying their keyboard options through the different price rangers with attractive features that meet the expectation of the cost you are paying. Size wise this keyboard manages to have a very compact footprint on my desk while still being a fullsize keyboard including a number pad. The idea of compact with a lot of professional keyboards now is to exclude the number pad which is an absolute nogo for me. For data entry and logging and Excel spreadsheet work, I find my use of a number pad to be essential to my workflow.Overall, I am enjoying this keyboard. I wish I could replace all the keyboards in my company with these keyboards as this is so much nicer to type on than outdated, years old membrane keyboards.

Overall I Liked this keyboard, unfortunately a month in I am having issues where the keyboard keeps dropping connection and going through its odd light phase where it runs though the keys in a snake pattern. Unfortunately this disconnection means I have to wait for the USB to recognize again after the reset. This is happening several times an hour, and has frustrated me to the point where I have unplugged it, thank goodness for the extended return window during the Holidays.

Im coming from a Logitech K350 keyboard PERFECT productivity wireless keyboard. It was great, but I now WFH. My home office desk isnt as spacious as my regular office desk. I wanted a good productivity keyboard. Other mechanical keyboards were just flashy and unnecessary, and way out of my budget. This was the least expensive mechanical keyboard in stock at the local store. It feels solidly built and the red key switches work well. I wouldve preferred a brown switch model but needed it immediately due to the old keyboard failing. If youre used to a keyboard with the builtin USB hub you wont find that here. The font choice is a little odd but the backlighting is a nice touch.

Wow, never wrote a review on a keyboard before This is a real beauty. I couldnt tell by the box what it looked like with the lights on, and the displays werent plugged in.I wanted the letters numbers to light, and thats what this did. A nice serious soft white light that complements the aluminum body. Super sharp looking on the desk. A lot more formal than the RGB one I had previously.Also feels solid. I like the mechanical keys, it feels fun to have to type with them.I also like the small footprint the keys are good sized well spaced, and still the keyboard doesnt waste extra inches around the sides.

Out of all the keyboards Ive used, this one is my favorite. While it does have a few cons, the things going for it are numerous enough to balance it out.To start, the keyboard is a bit louder than I thought itd be. Considering that I often collaborate with people over voice call in front of my PC, this is something of a concern. The only reason I feel it doesnt affect my calls is that I use a very high quality directional mic, however, someone with a lower quality microphone or someone whos just using speakerphone might be affected by this. Additionally, I was hoping that this keyboard would connect with the Logitech Options software and be controlled by it, but that wasnt the case. That would have been nice, seeing as how it would save my configurations for lighting and such. The font used on the keys also isnt my favorite.On the flip side, the keyboard is otherwise good. Its extremely smooth and highquality, great for typing up essays and then immediately switching to playing an MMO. The layout is really standard so I didnt have to relearn where the keys were and the way the keys are set doesnt leave me prone to accidentally pushing the wrong one. Additionally, the backlight is great the patterns are nice, and my favorite one is where the light is normally low but pressing a key makes it shine brighter. It provides excellent visiblity, less doubt on what key I actually pressed if Im typing a password, and it does all this without drowning the room in blue light that makes it hard to sleep if I need to leave my computer on. Finally, the keyboard just feels good it doesnt feel like a low quality item thatll fall apart in my hands if Im not careful.All in all, Id say that this keyboard is a really good one for both typing and gaming, and it nails the premium feel nicely without having so many extras its annoying.

I am in my early forties and grew up in an office where I had to manually type out forms on a typewriter. This blows most peoples mind that I am that old, but I take it further when I tell them that all these years later, I still have a typewriter on my home desk. It is more for looks but I love it, nonetheless. It has nothing to do with the impromptu ability to type some form of document, it is all about the sound of the keystrokes that really gets me nostalgic and reminiscent. As a PC gamer and product tester I have several really way too many keyboards laying around our home office. Some are built for silence, some traditional, and then there are my favorites the mechanicals ones. What makes this one standout more than some of my others is the sound. The red mechanism Logitech has on this K845 makes the keys not annoyingly loud, smooth, clean, crisp, and even perhaps hypnotic. I still probably would not recommend for a communal office space, just out of courtesy for your coworkers. The light feature is neat, but the backlit keyboard is the best part since the goal was not full spectrum RGB. The keyboard as a whole is smaller than most but gives off a vibe a sleek elegance when lit on my desk with a grey blue finish that shines ever so from the luminous keys. The keyboard has a good response time when gaming. The concave of the keys is perfect as well, so your fingers find and strike the correct key and not overstrike multiple keys midgame. My only drawback would be the overall smaller stature of the keyboard does not really suit my hand size for extended gaming hours. I think though it might be an ideal gaming keyboard for a younger person, at least a person with smaller hands, or just to have for a great keyboard. I personally have made this my daily driver keyboard that I have connected to my desktop workstation, why you ask THE SOUND, love it

Ive used quite a few Logitech products and have appreciated the quality and durability they offer. In using this K845 keyboard with Red Linear Switches I feel it hits a happy medium between the cheaper keyboards that come with a computer and the more expensive options that exist for gaming and general computer use. Someone who games a lot will want to invest in a more expensive keyboard option that allows for features such as macro keys, more lighting options, etcI really like Logitechs line of keyboards that offer an aluminum frame. Aesthetically they are much better looking than a plastic keyboard and offer a durability that is going to last. The mechanical switches are tested for 50 million clicks and the keyboard design is comfortable to use with a curved profile, slim front and 4 to 8 degree tilt options. For at home use, I prefer this corded keyboard option over previous cordless keyboards I have utilized.The twelve function keys offer plenty of choices including backlight brightness, search, calculator, media, and volume controls. Hit Fn F12 to toggle through 5 lighting patterns including Reaction lights up keys as you type, Breathing lights pulse, Random twinkling effect, Greedy Snake lights slither across keyboard and Static. For me, Static is the best option for my room lighting conditions.For 59.99, the K845 Mechanical Illuminated keyboard has a lot of nice features and I can easily recommend it. If you are in a super quiet office or setting the red linear switches may still be a bit noisier than one may prefer. Also, the font on this keyboard takes a bit of getting used to. Perhaps it is intended to be current or different, but some symbols are just a bit annoying since it puts a gap in the curve on the and keys. Id prefer the gaps didnt exist on the graphics for these symbols. Also, perhaps it wasnt in line with the minimal footprint of this keyboard, but I would love it even more if it had a scroll wheel for volume. The K845 keyboard is a good option the hard part is just deciding which of the 5 switch choices is best for you.

This full sized, aluminum feel, Logitech mechanical keyboard is pretty easy to use I connected it to my computer as I turned it on and saw the keyboard lit buttons come to life. My computer loads rather quickly, so by the time I had to put in my windows pin, the keyboard was ready to go. The drivers downloaded automatically. There was nothing else for me to do but to begin using it.The keys make a loud clicking sound due to it having the cherry mx red switches and I love it. I do a lot of typing with stories or reports I write, and the clicking sounds make me feel like Im using an old typewriter. Furthermore, the keys are soft when pressed on and sensible to touch for the computer to register. Another feature I like is that the keyboard is also able to adjust in the angle you want. Its not like typical keyboards that just have 1 tilting adjustment, Logitech included two, 4 and 8 degree tilt. This one has a little more options to what degree tilt you want.Finally, its very easy to manage computer settings through the keyboard by pressing Fn and then the F keys on the top row to adjust volume level, keyboard lighting only in the color white allows for 5 different light patterns to choose from and brightness level, and skip, play, or pause media. The only downside I noticed is that this keyboard is wired, not wireless. I understood this keyboard was corded but as more things are moving to be cordless, I think keyboards should as well. To me, it was not a problem because I have a small docking station which I use to connect all my devices to. On the other hand, the attached cable is long enough for most if not all desk applications to connect it to a deskside laptop or a desktop.Overall I enjoy the typewriter feel and clicking sound of the keys. It having an adjustable backlight is a great feature that adds to the overall appeal as well. It is a definitely a top option for those considering a corded keyboard loaded with features or any keyboard for that matter.

If you do full strokes on the keys you get the mechanical clicky so many love, you can insert mechanical keyboard silencers behind the keys if it is too loud.ConclusionThis is a very nice keyboard that will take a little getting use to. The key rise seems a little higher than my old keyboard, so I am making quite a few typos by grazing the keys next to my desired target. The keys are very sensitive, lightly grazing will register a keystroke. The back light is white which works great and easy to see in lit and unlit environments. This keyboard is very minimalistic and clean, there are no colors to chose from. The only thing missing is a USB port to plug a mouse into.

It is well known that Logitech has focused its efforts on creating a line of very good quality products at an excellent price and this keyboard is no exception, this review is being written with the Logitech k845 keyboard First of all, I want to address the issue of aesthetics since from the moment you take the keyboard out of its box, the aesthetics are impressive, serious but attractive colors, black and silver a perfect combination and with the placement of the keys in a relatively small space, makes this keyboard look very elegant.It has a balanced weight, in addition to nonslip rubbers that actually have a good grip since at least for me it is important that my keyboard remains in the place I want even though I use it to type or play. The lighting is a one of the functions that I appreciate a lot, despite being only white, it gives you the option to choose the type of lighting or simply turn off the light, in places with low light it looks great and does not hurt the sight, it has Red Linear keys which facilitate writing since there is no need to press hard and all the way down to each key and, together with the spaces between each one, makes it less frequent to make the mistake of pressing two keys at the same time, that usually happens with the regular keyboards that the desktop pc comes by default.I must say that the experience of using a mechanical keyboard is superior to that of a conventional keyboard, the sound that the keys emit with each click is very rewarding, of course it depends on the tastes of each person, it fascinates me. The responsive switches correspond to TTC Browns which is Logitechs house brand of Cherry MX Browns. Everyone has a preference and these are clicky, snappy, theres a fair bit of travel for key slappers like me. And all my other key slappers, this thing is LOUD, even for browns. Its because the keys will collide with the aluminum top of the board. I love it, but this is super subjective.I would NOT recommend this for office use or if you shared a kitchen table home office with a partnerroommate. But if youre in your own personal nerd cave and want a slappy, responsive mechanical keyboard for 60, this is the one.

This keyboard was a good fit for me. The keys are highrelief, provide the typical clicking sound for a mechanical keyboard, and the white backlit keys really make them easy to see. These are all attributes I was looking for. Pressing the FN key in combination with any of the F keys such as F1, F2, etc., provides alternate functionality, primarily media player navigation keys, speaker volume keys, and shortcut keys. The outside of the box that the keyboard comes in identifies each keys alternate function. In addition, a small symbol for each F keys alternate function is shown displayed on the key itself under the lit F. However, these symbols are not lit so you really have to look close to see them. I would have liked to see these symbols lit as well, but since I use them infrequently its not a big deal for me. Overall, Im very happy with this purchase and would buy it again.

I love trying new keyboards. I buy a new one probably every four months just because I see something new out there. My alltime favorite is the IBM clickykey keyboard of the 1980s with its wonderful, springclick sound. I do also like the quiet, softpress keyboards like the Dell Quiet Key that seemed to be everywhere for a time.My most recent keyboard before trying this one is described as a soft and cushioned gaming keyboard. To me, it feels much like a Dell QuietKey. Pressing a key feels like youre pushing down on a small pillow. You do feel the key bottomout, and Ive enjoyed typing on it.This keyboard, a Logitech K845 Mechanical Cherry MX Red Linear gaming keyboard, is very good. For the record, it is a wired keyboard with no passthrough USB ports. It has a much more mechanical sound and feel to it, and it is very comfortable to use. It has an aluminum, rather than black or some other color plastic, finish. Ive been typing with it for about a week now, and after a little getting used to, which Ill discuss below, Im planning on keeping it for a while.Like many gaming keyboards, this one does have some bells and whistles. It is illuminated, but only in white. There are five levels of brightness to select from ranging from no illumination at all to quite bright. It can also be programmed to have the key you press flash. Things like this are all secondary to me. What matters most is how the keyboard responds to my key presses.As far as getting used to the keyboard that I mentioned above, there are several things about it. First, its a smallfootprint keyboard. It measures 17 inches by 5 inches. The keyboard I had been using is more fullsized, measuring 18 inches by 7 inches. The smaller size is achieved by having a very small border around the keyboard. For example, the distance from the edges of the keys on the top and bottom edges of the keyboard to the edge of the board itself is only about onequarter inch. By contrast, the top and bottom margins, if you will, on my previous keyboard measured 58 and 1.25, respectively. Because of this, the keyboard feels small. I measured the sizes of the tops of several keys on both my old and new boards, and theyre pretty much the same. Its just an optical illusion that the keys on this board are smaller. It took a little while for me to get used to this, but I type quite comfortably now.Another thing about this board is the labels on the keys. Theyre not conventional in all cases, and the way theyre not conventional also conveys a sense of smallness. For example, on the right side, on most keyboards, the Page Up and Page Down keys are labeled exactly that way. On this keyboard, the Page Up key says PU on it and the page down key says, of course, PD on it. The Home key says HM.. The Print Screen, Scroll Lock, and Page Break keys say on them, respectively, PS, SL, and PB. Not that you use these latter three keys that often, but you still might glance at them and wonder what they are.You get the sense that the reason these keys are labeled this way is because the keys themselves are too small to fit the full words on. As I said earlier, the keys are not actually smaller. But this way that theyre labeled makes them SEEM smaller.The worst offender is the number pad at the far right. The number keys have only numbers on them, but they DO offer the other functionality that you expect. Theyre just not labeled. For example, the 7 key is also a Home key. But the word Home is nowhere on the key. The same is true for the 9 key, which is also a Page Up key, the 1 key, which is also an End key, and so on. If youve used computer keyboards for any length of time, youre likely used to what these keys do, and the presence or absence of labels is a nonissue. But this would not be a keyboard for someone new to computers to use. Too many common key functions are not labeled.Another nonconvention keylabel scheme with this keyboard is how what you get when you press the SHIFT key is labeled. For example, you press the 5 key unshifted, and you get a 5. Press it SHIFTed, and you get the percent symbol, . Convention is to put the symbol above the 5 on the key. Keys have been labeled this way since typewriters were invented more than 150 years ago. On this keyboard, by contrast, what you get when SHIFTed is placed to the right of what you get unshifted. This is true for all keys, so the colon symbol is the right of the semicolon symbol, not above it. The question mark symbol is to the right of the forward slash symbol. And so on. Again, you get used to this, but not immediately.One last comment about the keys is that there is a crudeness to the labeling. They almost look like stencils. This is more a doyoulikeitornot design thing than anything else, and I got used to it quickly. But it is different.Having said all of the above, I enjoy typing on this keyboard, and I will use this keyboard until something better comes along.

First of all, we can all do perfectly fine with a cheap 15 key membrane keyboard. But mechanical keyboards are nicer, look cooler and feel more analog and old school. I use this keyboard for coding, gaming, writing and creating.I was going to get a Bluetooth keyboard but didnt want to deal with driver problems, batteries going bad and not being able to use the keyboard in the BIOS.The white backlight is also really convenient and there is no RGB or specialized software to worry about. The keys arent too loud as long as you get the Linear Red keys 60 version, and it doesnt take much effort to press the keys. Also I like the minimalist nongamer look of this keyboard. The aluminum top panel will hopefully be more durable and also looks good.So in summary, its a functional mechanical keyboard that just works and has a convenient backlight. Its minimalist and has everything you need without unnecessary bells and whistles that can break or malfunction or require extra software.Because there is no software or fancy RGB, this will work fine for Linux users or people who deal with the BIOS or random niche systems a lot.There are cheaper mechanical keyboards out there like the Red Dragon, but the Logitech one is still great, from a wellknown company, and I can actually buy it inside a physical store.

The Logitech K845 Wired Mechanical Linear Keyboard is a great addition to a computer or laptop. Tested the keyboard on my computer and two other laptops.What I love about the Logitech Keyboard is the ability to keep up with my typing speed. Typing around 110 wpm, some keyboards lag behind. Not so with the Logitech. When typing reports, creating presentations, and doing data entry, no lag time is experienced. The keyboard was comfortable and has a background light for nighttime use. I tested the keyboard on an older laptop that had Windows 10 and a new laptop I have with Windows 10. Both worked great. This made me excited as I work in the field. I recently took the keyboard with me at an assignment and was excited at how simple it was to just plug the USB into the laptop and not have a bunch of complicated download instructions. Just plugged it in and was good to go. Now, I carry it with me in my laptop case. For some, this may be inconvenient due to the size. However, for what I do, it makes my work life easier. My beloved long throw 15yr old Dell keyboard died a couple of weeks ago and I needed a replacement. The chiclet style keyboards may be cute and low real estate, but they just dont cut it for lots of typing. I also find them useless for keyboard gaming. Enter the Logitech K845 Mechanical Switch Keyboard The K845 comes with a choice of three types of keys linear throw, tactilequiet, and tactileclicky. I chose the linear throw, as it seemed the closest to my old keyboard. The K845 keytouch is light, lighter than my older keyboard, but it still has to travel the entire stroke, which makes for as least for me very fast accurate typing. Gaming is also very fast because the key return time is also very fast. The linear keys are a little clicky, which I dont find objectionable, but it may not be to everyones taste or office environment.Construction is quite solid, with a metal top and good heft, it wont slide around. The keys themselves are rated for 50 million clicks, so it should last a long time. The backlight is a nice touch. There are five lighting patterns, although there is really only one that you can use while at the keyboard. The others are just distracting while youre actually working. Too bad they didnt make it programmable.Layout is standard 102, with one extra key for additional functions calc, music, play, next, last, etc from the F112 keys. Fortunately, Logitech resisted the temptation to add extra keys and additional real estate to include these functions.Allinall, the Logitech K845 is a good, solid replacement keyboard with excellent touch. Definitely recommended, especially since you can choose the key feel you want for your own taste and needs

This keyboard is really different from other keyboards. The keys are not hard to press, but you have to push the keys farther down then the standard keyboards. I make far less typos because of this. On the standard keyboards I would sometimes hit 2 keys at the same time when typing fast because I couldnt tell when I was touching one or two keys. The keyboard has different settings for lights which comes in handy. You can turn them off during the day if you want.I had to submit a support ticket to Logitech because I was unable to find a driver for it. Their response was that the driver is internal in the keyboard. That is a new one on me. There is another model that is very close to this one and it has a driver for it. I think it was the K840 model.

Got this keyboard to work with a Dell XPS laptop for both working while docked and for travel. Its well made and the keys have excellent response and travel for touch typing. The illumination of the keys is easy to control right from the keyboard. No drivers to install. The only odd item is choice of font for the keys. Its not a deal breaker but odd. Also the print screen key is labeled PS, scroll lock SL, etc. Why they changed labeling conventions from other keyboards is mystifying. But, that being said, great keyboard.

I like the old style clicks inherent to mechanical keyboards it feels like I am typing for real now, and with the keyboard light brightness adjustable, it makes typing a pleasure. I would have given it 5 stars, it is a superb keyboard, but I am giving it 4 due to the design of some of the key labels that I find a little annoying. Favorable Mechanical of course, soft enough keys, adjustable light intensity, right weight. Not favorable Design of some key labels feel out of place. Word of CautionI chose the Red version of the keyboard thinking that, besides mechanical differences with the other colors Blue and Brown, the keyboard would emit a Red light. I was mistaken, the light color emitted by the keyboard is white feels a little bluish under the black keys though. What is referred to as the color of the keyboard pertains to the mechanical characteristics of the keys, not to the light color it emits. There are three colors Key Switches, Red, Blue and Brown, and according to the description, each one has a slightly different feeling and sound when keys are pressed I have only tried the Red version. So be careful when choosing the right color keyboard. Design PositiveThe first thing I noticed about the keyboard was its weight. It was heavy and initially I was not sure why they made it that heavy. After a few hours of using it, I really liked that it is heavier than other keyboards I had used, it felt solid and kept the keyboard in place. After several days of use, I can say that this keyboard has the right weight for its kind.Keys are just soft enough, but not too soft to take away the mechanical feeling. In addition, the design of the key labels is unique and bring some freshness to the market well, there are multiple designs of key labels out there anyways.Light intensity can be adjusted, this is very convenient to have and a plus on this keyboard. Design NotPositiveIn general, I like the design of the letters and labels on the Logitech K845 however, there are two three keyslabels that have been a little annoying I think I eventually will get used to it, letter O, number 0 and symbol . Letter O and number 0, especially number 0, look like parentheses, this is very annoying. I wonder if there was an alternative design to fix this.With respect to symbol it is not easy to seedistinguish. I know where the key is at, so it is not really a blocker for me, but I think people with eyesight issues will not find it as easy to recognize.Other numbers and letters seem fine, although numbers 2 and 7 and other letters do not really feel like they follow the same design. For example, number 2 in the alphanumerical portion of the keyboard, looks out of place as it is more visible than the other numbers it looks like a number in bold face. TypingKeys are soft, but not too soft that they lose their mechanical feeling. I really enjoy typing documents and mostly doing programming on the Logitech K845, it has become my main keyboard. One thing I noticed, though, is that sometimes when I pressed a key and I did not release it completely, it caused the key to be typed multiple times, so repeated letters would show up or the cursor would be located in unexpected locations I have learnt to release the whole key after each stroke as a result.Just as an anecdote, when working in openspace, I never liked my teammates who would bring their mechanical keyboards. I promised to either, never buy one or buy the noisiest mechanical keyboard as payback. Now that I am working from home, I do not have the opportunity to annoy other team members with my mechanical typing, only my family gets annoyed when I am programming late at night past midnight, they are forced to close their doors when going to sleep to avoid the sound nuisance. Light effectsThe keyboard has a few illumination patterns, and the intensity of the light can be adjusted. It is the latter that I like the most, depending on the ambient light, or depending how I feel, I can dim or brighten the light the light can even be turned off. My K845 Keyboard was constructed with Red linear switches, which is the main reason for my capacity to type smoothly and quickly. I really enjoy the illumination of the keyboard. I can type without room lighting and I can change the lighting patterns with my FN and various F keys. I can also make keyboard shortcuts with F keys for opening the search box, the calculator and to open media. My fingers fit nicely on top of the keys and the spacing is perfect for dexterity. I could not figure out how to turn on the five lighting patterns In spite of that the Logitech K845 Wired Mechanical Linear Keyboard is my best keyboard ever because of the illumination and the many keyboard functions that can be produced.

The Logitech K845 Wired Linear Mechanical Keyboard is one of Logitechs newer keyboards and is targeted both for regular users as well as gamers alike. It has a full 104keyboard layout but has a smaller frame making it smaller than most regular keyboards smaller than my Logitech K360. Being a linear mechanical keyboard, It offers the typing experience gamers love. Being touted having a Cherry Blue MX switch, a typing switch with tactile and audible feedback. It also works even when depressed halfway. This is great for serious typists but not serious gamers. Nonetheless, it will suffice for casual gamers.And like most gaming keyboards, it is also backlit. Given that it is only in white, this gives me the impression that it is targeting both regular users and casual gamers. It has five modes for lighting namely breathing light, random, greedy snake, reaction and static. Clearly this appeals to the latter. It, however, is not Logitech G Hub further indicating that it is not exactly a gaming keyboard but a hybrid one.One thing I like about this keyboard is that it has an aluminum housing given that most gaming keyboards are entirely made of plastic. I also have a Logitech gaming keyboard. This definitely gives a premium feel to it.Overall, this is a great keyboard catering for most people. And while some may prefer a membrane type of keyboard as this like gaming keyboards are quite noisy. Nonetheless, Id recommend this to people looking for a wellbuilt keyboard.

Received this Logitech Illuminated K845 Keyboard and have been testing it out. Unboxing this keyboard was easy as pie being its the only thing inside the box. Once I pulled out the keyboard I was simply amazed by the build quality of this corded aluminum keyboard. Very solid and sturdy. Its a fullsized keyboard with 104 keys including a number pad to the right my fave kind of keyboard. Along the top of the keyboard are the dedicated function keys from F1 to F12. And they are preset to work right out the box with Windows 10. Right out the box this keyboard is plug and play ready. I simply plugged it into my Windows 10 computer which recognized it immediately and started typing away. Another amazing feature of this keyboard is that it is illuminated and has 5 different illuminating modes, which can be changed via F12 button. Just another awesome product by an awesome company. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who loves the tactile and clickety clackety sound of a solid keyboard like myself.

Excellent keyboard for its value, considering most mechanical keyboards are priced above the 99 mark. The brown switches of give a nice confirming tactile feel without the loud clickiness of blue switches. A perfect keyboard for typists or programmers that are working in an office and dont want to disturb their coworkers. The base of the keyboard has a slight flex to it if pressed hard enough, and the keycaps have a bit of a cheap feel to them. But, when considering its price, its a fantastic deal.

Im a pretty inconspicuous, low key person, and I love this keyboard. Ive wanted a mechanical keyboard for years, but couldnt justify a flashing RGB board that ruined my professional style. This keyboard is perfect because its sleek and professional looking, while still having all the positive qualities of a mechanical keyboard. This seems to be one of the first keyboards at least that Ive seen that looks to bridge the gap between high performance gaming keyboards and mediocre, workoffice focused keyboards. It does that quite well, offering high performance, typically gaming focused Cherry MX Red keys in an aesthetic that would fit in in any office scenario. If youve never typed on Reds, they take a bit of getting used to, since they offer zero tactile feedback, but offer a VERY quiet typing experience this felt especially weird, as my primary keyboard until now has Cherry MX Blues in them ie the loudest, clickity clack keys you could imagine. I prefer the feel of Blues, but everyone else around me much prefers the Reds. To go along with the typing quality, build quality here is typical Logitech in this price bracket very good. The base seems to be made of aluminum, making things feel very premium. This really is a very good keyboard from a functional standpoint.The one area with this keyboard is lacking is in the extra features department. While it does include backlighting which is a must IMO, its not of the RGB variety. You do have a few lighting options to choose from, but overall, options are limited to whats available onboard. There are no dedicated media controls though they are available via FN alternates, and the biggest issue for me is there is no included USB passthrough port. I use wireless mice exclusively, so having a port available close by for the receiver is a near must for me, so thats a miss in my book.Overall, this is a very solid keyboard, as Ive come to expect from Logitech. It helps bridge the gap between socially acceptable in an office setting and still high performance for gaming. If you can live without the extra frills that some keyboards afford, this is a very solid option.

Awesome, once you get used to using thumb to work the ball. At work, I have older model which uses middle finger for tracking, but I like this one better. I have very little desk top space and hated having to use mouse roll, pick up, roll due to using 2 monitors. A little pricey, though.

There are 3 types of mechanical switchesLinear, Tactile, and Clicky.Linear is straight down, nothing is stopping the key, no a bump before the press is registered. You will get the fastest response from linear keys but they are prone to making mistakes when typing.Ive tried lots of mechanical keyboards, this one by far is the best one Ive used. It is not that quiet nor as loud as the Clicky keyboards.If youre looking for a mechanical keyboard without the nonsense complications software downloads, RGB configurations, light profiles, etc, this keyboard is for you.

Just got it a day ago. Often times when you get a new keyboard it takes some adjusting since youve been so used to using your old one, so Im still in the adjustment phase but I really like it so far. Love the feel of the keys, I have the red linear mechanical switches and they keep up with my typing which is pretty fast perfectly without missing a beat. My last keyboard couldnt keep up, often had to backspace and retype letters, but not with this one. Since my office is in my basement and kind of dark I needed illuminated keys so love this feature as well. You can vary the illumination pattern to your liking, another nice feature. The overall layout of the keyboard is pretty small, no wasted space at all, and I like its smaller form factor. It is wired so keep that in mind if youre looking for wireless. Overall, although Im still adjusting to its size and spacing of the keys, Im really enjoying its usability and precise responsiveness. 5 stars for this price point

I specifically like to hear a nice snap or click when I am typing. So when I saw that this mechanical keyboard specifically mentions how nice the keys feel and click I had to give it a try.I am currently working from home and have been using a nice Logitech keyboard with a lot of hot keys for shortcuts. But it feels mushy at times and some of the keys are starting to wear out and stick. I have cleaned it a few times but it is just old already. I got this new Logitech K845 and have never looked back.It does feature some hot keys that you use with the function F keys, like volume, brightness, and calculator. The only thing I really miss was a button I had assigned on my old keyboard to open a specific file path. But other than that I have no issues. There is a full numeric pad and the keys light up. The lights can range from solid, to patterns with a function F command. It is very cool, but I usually just keep it lit up solid as the patterns are a bit distracting for me while I am working.Now for the best part, the feel. The keyboard is aluminum and plastic with a very high quality look and feel. It is nice and heavy and just feels great compared to every other keyboard I have ever used. The buttons are plastic but are mechanical, meaning the moving parts are metal and of higher quality meant to take more abuse. When I am typing there is no mistaking if you pressed a key or not, you hear and feel it. I love it I can pound away at the keys and it just flows with a nice clicking that is so satisfying. In fact, I am typing this very review using it. The keyboard is also wired so no need to worry about changing batteries. I am always at a work station so a wireless keyboard has never been an essential for me. Plus with the lights, you would probably go through batteries rather quickly.Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this keyboard. Once you start using it, all other keyboards will feel like toys.

While this new K845 is not part of the Logitech G gaming lineup, I have been using it as my primary gaming keyboard and it has been fantastic. The satin silver metal top plate looks classy, without showing dust and fingerprints like black can. The keys are all backlit with white LEDs, and while there is no RGB to change settings, its a clean look and the lighting looks great. I like how the keyboard is a full size with 10key on the right, but its a surprisingly compact package that doesnt take up too much space on my desk. Genuine Cherry MX Red switches are perfect for gaming, and since they are standard switches, this board accepts aftermarket key caps easily. I was able to put my pudding caps on this board without any issues to get more backlighting through they keys, and it looks even better now. Typing and gaming experience is exactly what you would expect from a redkey keyboard. The clean silver look, stout build quality, and pleasant white backlighting makes this a great minimalist gaming keyboard without spending extra on rgb and macro features that I rarely ever use.

I am a programmer so I have been using keyboards for work for decades. My kids are into mechanical keyboards and I appreciated the feel of them. I used computers back in the 80s and mechanical keyboards feel the most natural and nostalgic to me. Killing time one day, I was looking over what they had at Best Buy in the gaming peripherals section and couldnt find something that felt quite right. I think most of them were either too clicky or didnt have the full 101 keys etc. Plus they were pretty dang expensive. I think there are other options you can order but they werent in stock. So I kept strolling along and found Logitech stuff in the regular peripherals section. I didnt have much hope but wow, as soon as I felt this one I knew it was the one for me. Its nice and heavy. The key switches are brown, which means a specific thing in the mechanical keyboard world about how they sound and feel. They are super smooth and quick and light. No mushiness at all compared to the Dell, HP, and MS keyboards Ive been using for years. Ive only had it for a couple weeks now but I feel a little bit of joy every time I sit down to use it. Seriously.One caution I would put out there is that when I was first using it I kept accidentally hitting other keys. I think my previous keyboards were less sensitive to sideswipes compared to this. It forced me to be a bit more accurate in my typing which I appreciate anyway.Even though it doesnt have the specific click sound of other switches, it does knock on each keystroke. So its definitely louder than what Ive been using for years. If youre going to be using it around other people youll need to take it into consideration.It uses Function keys for media control I wouldnt have complained if there were dedicated media control buttons over the numpad or something like that, but otherwise its fine for me.The switches are backlit in white. There are 3 degrees of brightness, and a few patterns you can choose from.With so much to like about it I was quite fine with the purchase price.
