Frederico Costa Guedes Pereira –
So I got this yesterday for use on my Canon 7D Mark ii and Canon 5D Mark iii.LOVE IT Fast, fast , fast and did I mention fast. Im an event photographer and love natural light but when inside a dark club or dark festival I love me some good flash fill. To be honest Ive only used it for one gig since I just got it two days ago but it worked great at the party and cant wait to buy another to slave together for studio lights. It does recycle every 12 second to second using my GadgetTree Basic AAs lithium batteries so no complaining from me. Also syncs perfect with both the 7d Mark ii and 5d Mark iii. Ill give a newer more indepth review after further use.It gets only 4 stars because 579.00 is SPENDY for a flash but I needed a new Canon flash and Im not buying anything that has an older version when a brand new version just came out.Cool toy for my gear.

I love this speedlite. I use it for events and receptions, and the intelligence of the ETTL system helps me greatly As long as you understand how TTL works, you will capture amazing images with this guy

So far so good. Flash has good power and has not overheated. I use this flash for interiors of houses, bounced into the ceiling, manual operation.

Awesome piece of Kit.. Intuitive to use, functionality is awesome and it really puts out powerful light with great battery utility.
Thomas Prettyman –
I wish I had ten of these. If youre a Canon shooter these are a definite upgrade over the 580EXII.

Im so disappointed with this speedlight. I purchased this on Spetember 1, 2017. Ive shot 4 weddings and an engagement using it, and two of my old Canon 600s the newest of which was purchased in Feb. 2016, and both have been through numerous weddings, engagements, and seniors. During the ceremony of my wedding shot in a dark barn this past Friday, this speedlight quit firing. It was taking a painfully long time to recycle or charge, as it reads on the screen. I ended up switching out to my old Canon 600EXRT, and shot the rest of the day with it. Decided to give the 600 EX II another go for an engagement session last night, and half way in the recycle time became a hindrance. I ran home, and picked up one of my 600s, and finished up. Im going to pick up a Canon CPE4N Battery pack, and see if it makes a difference… If not, Im retiring this speedlight, and picking up another one of the original 600s. Note I always use Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries, as I have found that nothing else compares when it comes to juicing a speedlight.

I have used this model for years and needed a backup.
CarineDeparis –
I absolutely love shooting with this speedlite. I own 3 now and would definitely recommend them to a friend.
Filipe Xavier –
Great speedlite. Its a bit larger than the Altura …

Love the flash other than the fact that there is no battery level meter, just any indicator when your batteries are low. Lots of functions and features and it does a great job in auto for most normal circumstances with my T6i.

Canon Flash….Great product… expensive but worth.
Vineet Gupta –
Great can flash. The only problem I had with it was I have a brand new Canon 5D Mark four and this brandnew flash. When I first put the flash on top of the camera hot shoe, it would not seat properly so the ETTL did not work properly. Properly. I simply unseated and see again and it started working. I have since used it again and it works fine. I guess this was simply an issue of a one time thing. Other than the price, I would have given us five stars. But as is normal for Cameron, whenever a new item comes out they charge the maximum. I might update this review after I use the flash several more times.

Let me start off by saying I have been a professional weddingportrait photographer for the past 21 years. I have been using Canon products the entire time. I started with the 540EZ, then the 550EX, 580EX, 580EXII and now the new 600EXRT and 600EXIIRT. Not sure what Canon did to these new 600 versions but they just do not have the staying power of the older units. I need flashes to be fast and reliable. My 580EXIIs wereare die hard workhorses. I was shooting and event and ran one of my 580s to the point the front lens melted but it kept on firing and didnt miss a beat.My flashes are always connected to external battery packs so they can recycle quickly. At the beginning of the day, these new 600s are fine if you let them rest 15 or 20 seconds at least between firing. Thats the good….the bad is once you start needing them to fire every 3 or 4 seconds, they start to fail. The original 600s would go into overheat mode and just stop working. The new version two, just stops working. It typically takes 5 or 6 seconds to recycle with a fully charged pack and fresh batteries. These units are totally unreliable. If you are using them in manual, no problem, my issue is when I am using them in ETTL. Radio triggering also no issue.I really want to love these flashes but when I really need them in a critical situation, they constantly fail. If you are a hobbyist and just shoot occasionally, these are a nice option. If you need them to work no matter what, look elsewhere. I dread the day when my 580EX IIs finally die as Canon is no longer repairing them.

WOW Shouldve bought this flash sooner Wanted to step away from my 430EX ones and this was the best choice I ever made HIGHLY recommended
Braccio 1959 –
Reliable and love that it can link to my other flashes. Worth the invested over the 430ex rt for sure.

Great can flash
Leo Lavopa –
A brilliant Speedlite, the best Canon has made, and I think the best currently on the market. I have three, and if I had the budget, Id buy three more tomorrow. Combined with the STE3RT transmitter, setting up complex lighting arrangements is a snap, and all easily controlled right from the back of the camera. Background for frame of reference I moved up from 580EX II and 430EX II Speedlites, and have never used the original 600EX.The Speedlite is very well built, weather sealed, and powerful. Throw in a set of eneloop batteries, and it recycles very fast. Since getting my current set of Speedlites and transmitter, my strobes have yet to leave the studio, and have sat quietly more and more frequently in studio. The freedom, and the creativity that allows, granted by the Speedlites makes using them so much more enjoyable. You can find much cheaper flashes to be sure, but its hard to go wrong with the Canons for quality, reliability, and integration with the EOS system.
J.D –
This unit exceeded my expectations, great product and much faster than my old 580ex.
Cristina Surez –
Purchased 2 of these and sent them back… Grossly overexposed photos using ETTL same settings I use with my old 430 EX II. The 430 produces a very well balanced photo automatically every time, this flash blows out highlights and overexposes about every 3rd shot on my 5DM4. The build quality however is great, the snap on diffuser also very well made, menu system Excellent, just didnt perform as I expected. Works consistently with manual settings, but I dont always want to use manual settings in some of my shooting sessions.. I ended up returning both of the units I purchased.
Luis F. Gonzlez –
For the money they should last WAY longer. My company does a lot of photography on a daily basis with these and they rarely last 1 year.
Shane b. –
Great product and shipped quickly.

This kicks my old flashs behind. Combined with 5D Mark 3 this is the way to go.

kbodie –
Amazing flash professional grade, a must buy.I tried burst shots and not a single shot was a miss, this I used with Canon Transmitter STE3RT, and triggered this flash remotely. I am also expxloring lot of color filters and diffusers now, and its an amazing piece of equipment to work with. Also, to mention, the delivery was quick and done before exected time.
Kerstin Fluch –
recycle time isnt as great as i expected. hoping i can try out different brands of batteries to find one that will work best. I used duracell at my last event and had to change them once in the few hours i photographed but would miss shots when shooting 34 continuous shots at a time
Hans –
Ive used this for taking flash pictures and love it.
